Secret agent Jenks? | Raul S taps contacts again? | WELBZ banters Dubai

by .

Hudson Odoi… he’s the boy!

Oh and we sung…

5-1 against Montenegro. What a night. ENGLAND are gonna win the next World Cup, aren’t they?

… back to Arsenal news. Big Kike Marin has BACKED Le Grove and the stance on hiring in your mates to do a highly specialised job that could impact the club for years to come.

“With all due respect to them, but that Andoni Zubizarreta and Robert Fernandez are sounding for the yes I find disrespect. Raül Sanllehí should consider where he is and have someone who knows the Arsenal and the Premier. It’s The logical thing, I say.”

Amen, let’s not get in there and raid Barca for the people they didn’t want. We don’t need a Barca-light model at Arsenal, Wenger tried that and failed miserably. Let’s try a modern Arsenal and hire the best man or woman for the job… not the only person out of a job in Raul’s Rolodex.

Amy L has a great piece on integrating girls into the boys training sessions at Arsenal.

‘This initiative is based on the simple principle of putting young prospects in the best environment for them to flourish. Per Mertesacker, head of Arsenal’s academy, is keen to point out it is not a token gesture. He feels there are benefits in both directions. It is not just the girls who are being challenged. “It started off by thinking of our club and what we stand for,” he explains. “How can we integrate everyone a bit better? We love the variety and we love the different challenges that you sometimes face – that a girl can take you on and sometimes win a duel against you. All these things struck me. It is lovely to see this thriving environment.’

“I remember back in my days it was normal to play with girls in opposition teams. I got on with it and it helped me to understand from the very beginning how important it is to be first of all capable but also to be humble and respectful and disciplined. That’s what we are trying to achieve with these youngsters, to prepare them not only for a football career but also for reality. Women and men are both highly capable.

Sounds like a mighty fine idea to me. If it’s fair, why not? It raises the bar for everyone if the best talent is playing together, and it also ensures the girls land the same opportunities to receive great coaching as the boys.

This is WELBZ dropping some banter… little bit stale now mate, but look, you’ve had a rough time, so we’ll let it slide. Just don’t bring me the Fortnite dance tomorrow or we’ll have to have words.

There’s a delightful story doing the rounds that Liverpool are going to ditch Naby K for very little this summer. Sure, he’s been average, but he’s an explosive player. If we’re thinking about replacing Aaron and he’s around, I’d be all over that sort of a move. Surely a nonsense though? Just an agent trying to force the club to commit? Probably…

We’re tracking Charlton player, Joe Aribo, who plays in left midfield… Jenks is at it again, right?

I haven’t seen him play, but the last time I got excited about a lower league talent it was Bramall and that didn’t really work out, did it?

Right, that’s me done. I am so over you and your attitude. Let’s thrash it out in the comments once and for all.

Emery is trying to give him some game time ( Ozil) for potential summer suitors.
He wants his ass out of the club- dont be fooled by his quotes in the media.

Ozil is taking the salary of 3 really good players… which is what we need.
Unless he takes a 250K pay cut…. sell his arse

NW 9 gooner

Marco- you are being juvenile in your hatred for Ozil . You point to his goals and assists numbers ( which are by the way better than Keita’s and Meyer) and don’t acknowledge the fact that the team has been on a run since his reintegration. You seriously think that the club will do what you are spouting.

Marko

2 more years of whinging from Marko ,dissenter Mid West and the rest

Pierre I wish I knew you for real not only would I slap you upside the head on a regular basis for being such a dickhead but I’d love to make some sort of a real wager with you that he’ll be gone in the summer. I’m so fucking confident of it. He’s been that bad and literally no one at the club wants him kept on

Pierre

I would of thought all you supposed Arsenal supporters would be happy that since Ozil has returned to the team our results are 3-0 2-0 5-1 2-0 3-0 1-1 With one bad result away to Rennes where the manager cocked it up tactically after the red card …up until that point the game was a stroll . But no , all we get is whinging because they are being made to look like mugs and are continuing to look like mugs because they can’t bring themselves to admit that we are a better football team with Mesut Ozil in the… Read more »

Emery is trying to bag the coveted top four, Arsenal’s birthright.
He’s playing his strongest starting XI, that includes Ozil at the moment.

salpardisenyc

“I’ve been whining for more then 2 years,, sheesh… I’m not an amateur Grover..”

Another birthright.

NW 9 gooner

I love Ozil but agree that without him in the club and if we get two good first team players we will be better off . With Suarez likely to take Ramsey’s place two good wide players will be very welcome

Marko

don’t acknowledge the fact that the team has been on a run since his reintegration

I would argue players getting fit and certain players like Koscielny getting into some sort of form have contributed more to the recent run. Ozil has contributed one goal and assist and some other questionable performances. Ramsey and Mhiki have been far more influential

Pierre

we were a better side with Ozil in the team during our unbeaten run ..

7 defeats in 14 games and Ozil didn’t start one of those games …

Since he came back the team start performing.

NW 9 gooner

Marco “no one in the club wants to keep him”?
You are trolling now or you have a direct line to the CEO

Ozil was not really an influence in this recent return to form. It was more the manager that you love to criticize

Unless the club is willing to lose literally a mountain range of cash, we are not going to move Özil elsewhere. The best way forward is to bring out the best out of Özil and resolve never ever to offer such monstrous deals on such a no strings attached basis. It would be inconsistent in the extreme if we say on one hand we want to stop losing key players like Ramsey on free transfers than we proceed to push one of our key players like Özil for next to nothing. Yes, it is maddening that Özil is so inconsistent… Read more »

Marco it was more the manager for the recent run , so what about the bad run?

Marko

The best way forward is to bring out the best out of Özil

What does that even mean anymore? Why do people keep saying it it’s been over two seasons of declining performances and statistics and you make it sound like it’s the club’s fault and that it’s our fault for not getting the best out of him. It’s frankly shameful cause the degradation of the player is totally and utterly down to the player himself

Marko Emery is using Ozil the correct way and I applaud him for it . He now plays him when he should be played , he substitutes him when he should be substituted and he leaves him on the bench when he should be on the bench. AMN is more than an adequate WB/RFB , his speed of recovery is amazing actually. I am sure that the links with Crystal Palace’ s full back is just click baits. We have more needs elsewhere considering our limited funds.

And yet he still continues to decline. There is no right way or wrong way to play him anymore cause the result is the same the performances are still inconsistent and average

salpardisenyc

“It was more the manager that you love to criticize”
Marko

I’ve no agenda, when Emery was lining up without Ozil or Ramsay for that stretch we looked poor. Results suffered, his tactic for discipline or whatever the ban was backfired with team not able to step into fold and cover.

Many called him on it, along with me. You took / always take offense to any Emery criticism which I found hilarious after our similar views on Wenger.

The term Emery Ultra was born with you, and clearly still holds as its become you’re agenda.

Marko

We have more needs elsewhere considering our limited funds

Our current RB options are Bellerin, Lichtsteiner, AMN and Mustafi at a stretch. When everyone is fit there’s an argument for still needing a better RB. We absolutely need one with Bellerin out for the foreseeable future and with Lichtsteiner being so shit and leaving and then with Mustafi hopefully leaving we absolutely need a RB.

NW 9 gooner

Salp agreed. We were so bland without Ozil and Ramsey. And results also were poor.

If Ozil helps is in this mission then he is worth his salary

Ozil was always a better option then Iwobi, Miki or AMN or whomever we tried to use as #10 type.. so yeah the team is better with him…not saying much but if we want to actually compete for a PL title and be competitive in the CL he would have to play up to his pay wages.. and that is the issue. and that it hinders us in signing what we need unless we go bargain hunting. Marko

Midwest you’re not a whiner if you point out how poor Ozil is. It just means that you have no problem with acknowledging facts and reality. The vast majority of Arsenal fans are exactly like you. There’s nothing wrong in wanting better for the club

salpardisenyc

Mid

Ozil frustrates no doubt, if club can maneuver him out and upgrade i’m all for it.
Realistically don’t see it this summer.

My view similar to Leeds, get most out him whilst he here.

Currently i’m not going to throw stones at side that finally turned United at home on their form.

MidwestGun

I don’t know who I want.. don’t really keep up on availability of players and scouting stuff. but I know positions where we need better starters. LB, CB, CM, Winger. and RB we need at least a temp… solution depending on Bellerin. So 4 or 5 players, imo.

NW 9 gooner

Mid- why lb . Keep Monreal for a year Kolasinac is improving defensively and is a very good WB

MidwestGun

So upgrades on Monreal, Mustafi, Ramsey/Ozil? replacement, and better winger type then Iwobi or Miki.. then I would be happy .. but most likely I would still whine about something.. that’s what we do here.

MidwestGun

I would say Monreal is ok for cover at LB and CB.. but he doesn’t have the pace to track back anymore, imo and we would be susceptible to pacey wingers down his side. Sarr amongst others have taken him apart recently.

I am 100% sure that Arsenal would like to offload Ozil in the summer transfer window, but the reality is that it will take two to tango. Ozil has two years unexpired on his contract at the end of this season. So the cost of his wages is £36,400,000 based on his present salary. Can anyone see Ozil or more importantly his agent foregoing that deal? Frankly that is highly unlikely. We know already that no club in Germany would be likely to recruit him following the baggage pre World Cup. Somehow I doubt that there is any club in… Read more »

The link above is a very reliable source.

It shows Ozil earns 300,000 ( not 350,000) ……still way too high.
Mhkitaryan earns 120,000( not 180,000)

Their contracts run to 2021 so we are 12 million better off already.

As for losing 100 million through Ramsey and Ozil leaving on a Bosman, it’s swings and roundabouts really , let’s say for arguments sake we bring in Rabiot and Ander Herrera on a free then it evens itself out more of less.

Am I hearing here that Liverpool are willing [or planning] to offload Naby Keita at a throw away price? Naby K is a massive massive player. It is mystery why he has seemed average at Liverpool.

Emiratesstroller

Pierre

You are making an assumption that Arsenal are interested in both Herrera and Rabiot.

Herrera will be 30 next season and somehow I don’t think that Arsenal should be taking on yet another Man Utd cast off.

Rabiot is a different matter. There is not a lot of evidence that Arsenal are interested in this player and more importantly that he wants to come to us.
In any event he will not come cheap and I think that the real problem will be
his wage demands. Arsenal seem to be lowering the wage threshold to below
£200K pw.

Nelson

I am sure that Ozil generates much more sale than any other Arsenal players. Whenever Arsenal plays in Asia and in the States, you can hear the local fans adoring Ozil’s presence.
Our club is now in the most critical phase to fight for next year’s participation of the CL. With the super heavy schedule ahead, we need every available body to help the team to achieve this goal.

Losing out on the £60-80m we could have gotten for Ramsey and Ozil is not “swings and roundabouts”. It was a massive financial / business mistake. This is why the club has publicly stated that players will be required to sign new contracts two years out going forward.

siddharth14

It’s going to be really difficult getting rid of Mesut in the summer. My biggest fear is the impact on squad morale if the club went with a tough approach on Ozil. Now, i know that many here will disagree but Emery’s treatment of Ozil had a considerable impact on the players. This, i feel was evident in our bad patch commencing since our loss to Southampton. I see no difference in either case , nobody knows the true reasons why they will leave their club, it’s all supposition.

Receding Hairline

who exactly is Herrera coming in to replace?? Please don’t say Ramsey

I don’t think signing Herrera is in any way a progressive move for us. This was supposed to be a new era of bargain buys like Guendouzi with a high ceiling not unremarkable workaholics like Herrera

Receding Hairline

Pierre Herrera is not being offered a new deal at United because they probably believe they can upgrade on him , Ramsey on the other hand had his new deal withdrawn because we could not afford him and felt we might get better value elsewhere.

Calling Ramsey a cast off though is a bit far fetched. He simply isn’t.
