In times like this, with injuries and all, a coach proves his mettle by picking the best team he can from what he has. Emery didn’t do that today and failed to remedy it at halftime. Don’t let the scoreline fool you…7-1 would still be a fair scoreline considering, we didn’t compete in the second half at all.

It is very comparable to Klopp’s first season in that sense. He broke about half the squad and he didn’t have the players to carry out his ideas in terms of intensity. Our earlier success was based on dynamic wing-play. That seems to have completely dried up.
Doesn’t help that Mustafi is a completely useles at coming out with the ball from that right-sided centre back position, and Auba and Lacazette have no ability to link up at all. They’re like Yorke and Cole after a 48 hour bender.
