Wingers on the lips

by .

The site is getting back into a position where it’s nearly fixed, I just need one last bit of help getting to the form filling issue with GDPR sorted, then we’re rolling. Thanks for your patience during this difficult time.

Arsene Wenger is rocking the papers of the world hard, he wants in on ALL the jobs. Le Parisien is reporting that PSG are after him to replace the outgoing sporting director, Henrique. This is a really fucking weird move. If you’d paid any attention to Wenger over the past 15 years, you’d know firstly, picking out elite talent really hasn’t been his thing, and you’d also know that he was a world class ditherer.

‘Buying players isn’t like buying a loaf of bread’

Until we hired in competent people and reworked the entire spin of our team in 6 months and two windows. If the concern with Henrique is he didn’t get deals over the line, why would you bring in someone who let the contracts of Mesut, Sanchez and Ramsey crash into the danger zone?

The same paper also reckons Wenger is pushing for a sniff at Madrid and Bayern. I’d be happy to see him land both jobs. So would all the fans, regardless of the opinion they have of him. Let him go to one of those clubs, let him maybe win a trophy, just give him a little bit of a fun at a crisis club for a short amount of time before it all goes wrong and all the things that have degraded Arsenal hit him harder than a freight train at clubs that have seen what good coaching looks like.

Emery was in full on praise mode when it came to free-scoring Lacazette.

“When I arrived at PSG we were thinking about signing Lacazette. His quality & his characteristics we liked, & the people who were working at the club when we arrived, they said to us, ‘This player has the quality to play for PSG'”

“Last year was his first in the Premier League, it was a different to the French league, a different position for him, a different rhythm. Not a different mentality because he has a very good mentality & gives himself very good chances to score. He is very efficient”

Big words. He’s certainly been excellent this season. He’s the more well rounded of our strikers, he’s just not as physical as you’d like for the Premier League. That said, he scores bangers, he brings people into games and he looks like a great character to have in and around the dressing room. Hopefully, we get to see a bit more a plan about how to integrate him and his main bro, Aubameyang.

There’s a little transfer rumour going around that Arsenal are on standby to take Malcolm from Barca if the player continues to get the cold should from the manager over there. It was odd that he moved there in the first place, I’d have thought Arsenal or Roma were much more suited, and it’s clearly gone to shite so far. Could be a good loan move in January, where we’re really lacking true wide players.

That said, look no further than Reiss Nelson who scored two goals yesterday, taking his total to 4 in 4. Sancho and Reiss making a real point out in Germany, hopefully, their success points to a more traveled future for young English players. If we need to make a move on a wide player, why not bring back a superstar English kid working his socks off and delivering?

I really do think it’s a sign of the times that we have youth players good enough to be considered at other big leagues for loan moves. Smith Rowe is apparently on the radar of Thierry Henry, another move that’d make a lot of sense if he’s going to stay on the bench most of the season here.

Right, that’s me done, see you in the comments.

Anyone seen that new film on Netflix, apostle, fucking good film. Haven’t seen a good atmospheric horror/thriller like it for years If you’re stuck for a film then give it a watch. Just short of greatness for me. Could have been a classic but still the best I’ve seen in ages
Enjoyed the witch last year too
That Anya Taylor Joy is both extremely talented and gorgeous.

Morning from cloudy SF Bay Area

I think that we beat Foxes 3-1
    Laca on the score sheet
    Dude cant stop scoring…

I think Auba will play- he only played one game with Gabon and bailed on their second match… in classic primadonna way

He should retire from Gabon, and focus on Arsenal. Seems he is really liking London and the team… which is great

  6. Joe

JoeSuck my balls. Shouldn’t you be baking muffins for the fireboyzz about now you fucking turnip?? Extra choc chip boys, dive in, woohoo

    Hahahahaha

The 6 year is old back

And no one gives a shit.

  7. un na naai

David Dein has come out and said we had at least 30m to spend every summer since the stadium moveNow that’s a lot of money in 2006 and I’m sure went up every year.

    Joe joe

Oh you’re sure??? Ooooh. That settles it then.
Joe’s sure about Arsenal’s finances. He studies economics in between arseless chaps and pole sliding sessions for the fireboyzzz.

Come on dopey. You have as much economical nous as my toe nail clipping on the floor right now JOE.

In fact I’d say my recent cast off may be superior in that respect

  8. un na naai

Really?? On arsenal game night it’s this quiet?? Get it going people. Rev yourselves up. Last time we played Ramsey was on the end of the best goal I’ve seen since jack wilshere at Norwich.

    9 wins on the bounce
    Let’s make it 10
And Cunt joe and Bamford off while we go

    Looooooooolllzzzzz

  9. Joe

    Hahahaha un

Making Quite the fool of yourself today

More than usual which is hard to do

Better to just ignore idiocy like yours.

  10. Joe

    Ha
    Un,
Like wenger cunted you off for a dozen years and you gobbled it down like a dumb cunt

    Way to go muppet

Why aren’t you going to the match tonight super fan??

  11. Guns of SF

I think we can hit them for 4 goals. usually, the first one takes a while, then it opens up the game and more start to come in.

Its these games where we really need to unleash all the firepower we have. 3 goals plus per victory needs to help buffer us in the GD column

  12. Marko

When the Rams win silverware, when the rest of his lot dominate their respective fields, when it happens season upon season due to Stans direction and support, then start telling people about Stan the sporting saint.

So he has to win a Superbowl and the nuggets have to dominate season after season before he sheds the tag of bad owner or his teams average. Also no one said sporting saint you’re doing that thing that you piss and moan at Bamford for doing.

But don’t throw up a 7-0 record and suggest Stan ain’t bad after all, or you’ll get outed for precisely the type of input that is. Stupid

So again the argument always being made was his American franchises don’t do well and now you’ve got two of them doing well and I merely pointed that out and now it’s they need to win something I guess. Lofty expectations from Charlie for sure

  13. jwl

un na naai – if you enjoy horror, watch Netflix show called The Haunting of Hill House. It was released recently and it is excellent.

  14. Rambo Ramsey

Marko, move your fat arse out of mum’s basement and find a job already. Patrolling Le grove all day, everyday isn’t gonna make your life any better.

  15. Cesc Appeal

Interested to see what Emery goes for tonight having had players away on internationals and with that away trip on Thursday.

I would go for Leno, Bellerin, Sokratis, Holding, Monreal, Torreira, Xhaka, Mkhitaryan, Iwobi, Welbeck, Lacazette.

Basically the same line up as against Fulham, gives us Aubameyang to come on later.

  16. Receding Hairline

Unfortunately I see the winning streak coming to an end tonight

Care to shed more light on why? Last game it was Fulham have wonderful player up top,,,,now what is the reason?? We are the home team mind u

  17. un na naai

    JoeOctober 22, 2018 18:21:41
GunsI’ll take 1 nil to the Arsenal!!!

    Spoken like a true muppet
We are playing Leicester you fooool.
If Wenger was in charge you wouldn’t be taking no 1-0 win
So suck my hairy beads you little polesliding anus licker

  18. Pierre

    Mhkitaryan,ozil,iwobi,Lacazette…just what I predicted earlier…

No Ramsey..I’m liking Emery more and more…

A bit lacking in defensive cover on the bench but fuck it ,who needs defenders anyway.

  19. Marko

What happened to Nacho and Saed???

I assume Nacho is rested he has basically played in every game this season and Kolasinac is probably broken.

  20. Vickingz

Nacho shouldn’t have been rested for this match. Litch can’t even play 90 minutes as RB talk less of playing as a LB

  21. TheLegendaryDB10

    Tonight’s starting IX:

Leno, Bellerin, Mustafi, Holding, Lichtsteiner, Mkhitaryan, Torreira, Xhaka, Ozil, Iwobi, Lacazette

Subs: Martinez, Ramsey, Aubameyang, Welbeck, Guendouzi, Medley, Smith-Rowe

  22. un na naai

    Jwl

Will give that a go thanks
Apparently Mandy is quite good too
As is jj Abraham’s new film

    Joe

That’s a great starting line-up. I’m expecting Ozil to shine today

    Hahahahaha
    Will remember that one

  23. Freddie Ljungberg

    Monreal has a tight hamstring.

Kolasinac probably still out injured or just not fancied by Emery.

Liking the starting xi, no Ramsey and we have plenty of firepower left on the bench in case we need it.

Iwobi has been really impressive so far this season, hope it continues, would solve at least on of our wing problems.

  24. jwl

un na naai – we saw Mandy at cinema and enjoyed it, don’t know about Abraham’s new film. Scandi countries make great horror, two movies that I think are on Netflix that we quite liked were Lake Bodom and I Remember You.

  25. DaleDaGooner

Ramsey being told where the door is….good stuff! We wouldn’t dare before….but question beckons, why do we wait till contract is ran down??????

  26. TheLegendaryDB10

I think the reason Kolasinac is not playing is because Unai doesn’t fancy him as he was back from his injury and played one game and then haven’t seen him since.

Unai’ s English is definitively improving! Just listening to him now and it is no longer that broken English we had at the start of the seaon.

  27. Dissenter

Why are we playing so far upo the field.
Lichsteiner doesn’t have pace so why are Holding/Mustafi playing so high up the field?

Holding just gave away a blatant penalty…that the referee didn’t see.
    Yellow card and penalty
Where are all the referee conspiracy people?

  28. useroz

    WTF???

Free for all …Leicester got three 3 yards from Leno

    Ffs where’s the defenders??

Leno saved point blank. And again.

    C’mon!!!

  29. DaleDaGooner

Holding already on a yellow, then he clumsily puts his hands up to head a ball……he can be good but has so much to polish in his game. Too rash and clumsy.

  30. raptora

Lacszette covered 4 ppl right there.
    Top save by Leno.

You can see how with Ozil as #10 we don’t have the power going forward or the fight in middle of the pitch. We look times better even with Welbeck in his place.

  31. Dissenter

This international break came at the wrong time for us. It disrupted the nice rhythm we had two weeks back.
It’s like we are starting all over again

  32. DaleDaGooner

Puel tactics is way better than ours at the moment. Ozil the difference, we have conceded , Bellerin is crap

  33. Dissenter

Ozil is looking rusty…really rusty an dis making too many poor passes.
We look like we’ll come shake off the cobwebs by the time second half starts.

    oops we conceded
Deserved goal from Leicester…Bellerin assisted that goal.

  34. Paulinho

    Iwobi predictably shit.

This starting lark is a different kettle of fish than coming on as a sub against tired legs.

  35. Dissenter

    Paulinho
The entire team has been shite …Iwobi is the only one you can take cheap digs at?
The midfield combo isn’t working. There aren’t enough hard workers there and we are getting isolated too easily.

  36. DaleDaGooner

Tactically, we’re inferior at the moment. Sooner we sell Ozil, the better, not living up to any high standards, we’re a player down with him. Xhaka sluppy as usual. Holding Hasbro an air of arrogance in his clumsy play

  37. Marko

Iwobi predictably shit. This starting lark is a different kettle of fish than coming on as a sub against tired legs.

Surprising no one Paulinho. In dire need of Ramsey am I right

  38. WengerEagle

Ramsey should be in the team regardless of the contract situation, you can’t leave one of your few difference makers on the bench in favour of lackadaisical fairies like Ozil and Miki.

  39. Marko

So since Ozil is playing gick and Lacazette is pretty much drifting out RW all the time why not just start Auba centrally and Mhiki CAM

  40. Dissenter

“Who’s the dummy saying Iwobi is trash?”

Paulinho isn’t a dummy. He is just missing Rambo, that’s all.

  41. Paulinho

    Great goal.

Ozil the only one in the first half that actually played with some composure on the ball during that horrible first twenty minutes.

  42. Joe

    DaleDaGoonerOctober 22, 2018 20:39:30
Ozil and Bellerin are crapping is out upfront

    Dale

    You’re insight is fantastic

  43. Marko

WE easy to leave out Ramsey when one goal aside he’s been trash all season.

Ozil has been shite this half but that’s actually an excellent goal. Shame you can’t motivate him to play better for longer

  44. Paulinho

Iwobi has improved a bit in the last ten mins but he’s still been shit and was guilty of several Ramsey-like heavy touches in the first half hour when that is supposed to be his strength.

  45. DaleDaGooner

Oh shut up joe…go bake a cake for the boys….everyone till the goal agreed Ozil wasn’t performing. And regardless of the cross, Bellerin has been pony, he’s at fault for the goal conceeded. Bellerin’s cross was not intended for Ozil, he was just there as Laca tumbled over.

  46. raptora

Imo Bellerin has been very good. Moved the ball forward well when none of our other players wanted to take the responsibility. Unlucky with the OG but did make up for it with the assist.

Iwobi was our main outlet since our top forward players were shying away from responsibility.

  47. Marko

Ozil the only one in the first half that actually played with some composure on the ball during that horrible first twenty minutes.

Jaysus what’s wrong with you. I would have said that about Iwobi but ah well

  48. Dissenter

    Paulinho
“Iwobi has improved a bit in the last ten mins but he’s still been shit and was guilty of several Ramsey-like heavy touches in the first half hour when that is supposed to be his strength.”

…You can make the same case for everyone else on the team. You were resorting to comments that would have fitted Iwobi two seasons ago…not for this season.

  49. TheLegendaryDB10

Yeahhhh! Nice goal from Ozil. If only he could play like this more often.

Phew that goal makes up for a very average first half.

  50. useroz

Ok. It’s Emery time working his magic.

Felt we’d get a goal after conceding.

Mikki not doing quite well so burden on Ozil to create. Iwobi doing ok.

    We need more shots.

  51. Cesc Appeal

I thought Ozil was shit for 35 minutes but upped the tempo and played well for the last 10 minutes of that half.

The team is still dysfunctional though, it has got to the point where you have to say you can only play one of Ramsey, Ozil or Mhiktaryan. If you’re playing Ozil then you need to introduce Welbeck for hard work out wide, if you’re playing Mkhitaryan then you can maybe play a second ST because Mkhitaryan can actually play RM and drift to CAM.

Far too pedestrian in the first half, for 35 minutes we went back to the problem of having no out ball past Xhaka and Torreira which was not there at Fulham because Mkhitaryan and Iwobi were occupying the RAM and LAM spots to receive in between the oppositions wide players and central players.

Our best team on paper is nowhere near our best team.

Xhaka is painfully slow as well, some nice passes, but so slow in action and thought. Slow and clumsy.

  52. WengerEagle

Don’t get playing Ozil and Miki together, they’ve never both played well in the same match.

Ones always shite when the other plays well, hook off Miki cause Ozils tail is up now and bring on Ramsey or PEA.

  53. raptora

Our best performers in the first half:

    Torreira by a mile.
    Leno!
    Iwobi.
    Bellerin.

    Worst performances:
Holding – guilty of a pen and red card offensive.
Mikki – nowhere to be found.
Ozil- same but at least scored a goal.
Xhaka – didn’t move the ball well, couldn’t handle with Leicester’s middle of the area press.

  54. Joe

    prvhcOctober 22, 2018 20:52:27
I thought Ozil was having an excellent game even before the goal.He was our only quality player on the ball.

    Yep.

Don’t tell dale though. The clueless one

  55. Dissenter

We’ve played average to poor in the first half.
This has been the pattern under Emery so it’s no surprise.
We have a very good bench [in a long time] and can easily raise oput games by several notches.
Just have replace Mykhi with Guendouzi or someone else to keep match James Morrison. Morrison has been very good..easily the best player on the field today.

  56. DaleDaGooner

    Joe,

everyone, i mean everyone that knows their arse from their mouth agrees that Ozil was rubbish till the goal….don’t be dumb, stick to ice skating or figure skating or baking cookies for the fireboyzz

  57. Goobergooner

The attack down the right ending in Iwobi’s saved shot at around 40 min mark was absolutely delicious, as well as Iwobi’s control on the left which led to his nutmeg on someone. also Leno with some quality keeping in there too. looking a good buy to me already.
Those and the goals were pretty much the only real bright moments in the half. Pretty bland stuff to be honest, having that much possession and conceding the better chances.

For how much pace Bellerin has, he really doesn’t cope well with the overlap. He really should have done better for that goal. But great assist to make up for it. Ozil’s best shots are flicks and placed 1 touch shots off a solid cross haha. give him time to line up a shot and he will pass instead. Good to see him on the scoresheet again!

  58. Pierre

    Prvhc
“I thought Ozil was having an excellent game even before the goal.He was our only quality player on the ball.”

hey …a poster who talks sense …you are spot on and whoever thinks iwobi was our best player needs to rewatch that half .
