Wingers on the lips

by .

The site is getting back into a position where it’s nearly fixed, I just need one last bit of help getting to the form filling issue with GDPR sorted, then we’re rolling. Thanks for your patience during this difficult time.

Arsene Wenger is rocking the papers of the world hard, he wants in on ALL the jobs. Le Parisien is reporting that PSG are after him to replace the outgoing sporting director, Henrique. This is a really fucking weird move. If you’d paid any attention to Wenger over the past 15 years, you’d know firstly, picking out elite talent really hasn’t been his thing, and you’d also know that he was a world class ditherer.

‘Buying players isn’t like buying a loaf of bread’

Until we hired in competent people and reworked the entire spin of our team in 6 months and two windows. If the concern with Henrique is he didn’t get deals over the line, why would you bring in someone who let the contracts of Mesut, Sanchez and Ramsey crash into the danger zone?

The same paper also reckons Wenger is pushing for a sniff at Madrid and Bayern. I’d be happy to see him land both jobs. So would all the fans, regardless of the opinion they have of him. Let him go to one of those clubs, let him maybe win a trophy, just give him a little bit of a fun at a crisis club for a short amount of time before it all goes wrong and all the things that have degraded Arsenal hit him harder than a freight train at clubs that have seen what good coaching looks like.

Emery was in full on praise mode when it came to free-scoring Lacazette.

“When I arrived at PSG we were thinking about signing Lacazette. His quality & his characteristics we liked, & the people who were working at the club when we arrived, they said to us, ‘This player has the quality to play for PSG'”

“Last year was his first in the Premier League, it was a different to the French league, a different position for him, a different rhythm. Not a different mentality because he has a very good mentality & gives himself very good chances to score. He is very efficient”

Big words. He’s certainly been excellent this season. He’s the more well rounded of our strikers, he’s just not as physical as you’d like for the Premier League. That said, he scores bangers, he brings people into games and he looks like a great character to have in and around the dressing room. Hopefully, we get to see a bit more a plan about how to integrate him and his main bro, Aubameyang.

There’s a little transfer rumour going around that Arsenal are on standby to take Malcolm from Barca if the player continues to get the cold should from the manager over there. It was odd that he moved there in the first place, I’d have thought Arsenal or Roma were much more suited, and it’s clearly gone to shite so far. Could be a good loan move in January, where we’re really lacking true wide players.

That said, look no further than Reiss Nelson who scored two goals yesterday, taking his total to 4 in 4. Sancho and Reiss making a real point out in Germany, hopefully, their success points to a more traveled future for young English players. If we need to make a move on a wide player, why not bring back a superstar English kid working his socks off and delivering?

I really do think it’s a sign of the times that we have youth players good enough to be considered at other big leagues for loan moves. Smith Rowe is apparently on the radar of Thierry Henry, another move that’d make a lot of sense if he’s going to stay on the bench most of the season here.

Right, that’s me done, see you in the comments.

Liverpool at home in a couple of weeks, that is the one we really need to throw a marker down on.

Use home advantage and the fact that Liverpool have not really been at it recently, but if we let Sane, Firmino, Salah have the openings we’ve given the other teams on this winning run in the first half we will suffer.

The in game management of Emery though, having gone through what we have in recent years I literally get a semi watching it. Game winning substitutions and also changing to 3 at the back mid game. You slut, Emery.

  2. E54_

We were never the best team in the league, we haven’t been since Vieira left. We haven’t been favourites to win anything since Vieira left.

We’re back to giving a good account of ourselves, we’re back to not being humiliated on a regular basis. We’re back to expecting wins instead of hoping. Oh sure we’ll lose here and there, but we’ll lose with some fukcing respect! Which is where Vieira left us.

  3. BacaryisGod

So our third goal had 10 players touching the ball and the 11th was Iwobi who made a fantastic run to pull Evans out of position. That goal was so good I involuntarily let out a Neville moan when Auba put it away. So good to see Ozil playing with joy and his reaction after the ball hit the net was priceless. He knew it was a special goal.

  4. Marko

No one is talking crap about Xhaha again. He’s improving as the season progresses

I mean he improved in the second half like the whole team but he was absolutely Xhaka in the first. I would say on the whole he’s having an okay season. Any notion of him having a good season or better I’d suggest you look at other CM’s knocking about Europe

  5. Cesc Appeal

My dream team is flying right now as well, Lacazette and Aubameyang up front. Now if De Bruyne can get over this whole selfish ACL thing he has going on and start doing what he does that would be appreciated.

The entire team player badly in the first thirty minutes…not just Xhaka. It’s not the first time we’ve started badly.

It’s a nice feeling isn’t it when you aren’t overly worried about conceding anymore because you have two guys up front that are more than capable of replying?

Liverpool game will be a wild one, plenty of goals is a sure bet.

Just hope that we aren’t too reckless but fuck it I’ll take reckless over the passive and reticent approach under the old regime where we were basically surrendering and playing not to lose.

  8. TT

Best performance I have seen from Qzil in a long time. And cant stress enough what a hardworking player Lacazette is. Constantly harassing and chasing down the ball.

It is my bday the next day, so I’m going to get absolutely shitfaced and say some pretty despicable things about scousers.

I was in a taxi on the way back from a club a few weeks ago and the driver was a Chelsea fan, I have literally never heard so much hate for people as he had for scousers.

That’s a great starting line-up. I’m expecting Ozil to shine todayHahahahaha
    Will remember that one”

Joe, well predicted hahaha. Shut un na up with that one comment.

  11. BacaryisGod

As for the Holding penalty claim, I have a slightly different take on it. His arm definitely goes up but mainly to ward off the Leicester attacker (can’t recall which one). Regardless, his hand actually hits the head of the Leicester player which pushes it towards the ball. Look closely and you’ll see what I mean. Essentially, he didn’t move his hand to the ball but it went there involuntarily. The referee had a perfect view and I’m guessing that’s what he saw.

  12. Dissenter

    Ramsey is outside…looking.
Emery will be dumb to not squeeze out his industry when required but damn…he’s mismanaged his contract rather badly.

He will probably end up at Everton with Theo.

  13. DaleDaGooner

I’d throw Auba and Laca in as front 2 versus Liverpool, play 3 at the back and tell Monreal or whoever plays LB to hold when Bell is running up field…but i’ll leave Emery to study Pool and come up with the right tactics….so far, I am not satisfied with our first halves.

  14. Receding Hairline

Unai Emery again shows elite game management. Now I understand how he murdered klopp in the second half of the Europa final.

But we really need to sought out the ponderous first half’s.

I’m glad Leno is proving his worth.. Don’t mean to be provocative but many on here were writing him off before he even played.

  15. Cesc Appeal

Holding was a penalty, you can’t have your arm up there.

But as I said to someone watching the game with me, football balances itself out, few minutes later Bellerin own goal.

  16. Dissenter

    BacaryisGod,
Nope, the referee didn’t see the Holding handball.
Had he seen it, it was the most blatant amateurish handball possible.
It was a handball…penalty and yellow card with send-off.

    There’s ifs, ands, or buts.
Referees always tell defenders to have their hands in natural positions in the box or else. Holding was already beat by the ball and stuck his hands out.

  17. Dissenter

‘If we ever will have a good 1st half, Xhaka needs to be on the bench or in the opposing team!”

    Here comes the blame-Xhaka-first brigade
So is the reason why we have had poor first halfs?
In that case will you credit if for the second half revivals?

  18. ddkingz

    wow….what a victory….

I was pissed off about the first half…. well I’m fired up for any AKB’S that wants to fucking raise their ugly heads talking trash about rating or slating arsenal…

    1) are you trying to say, if we manage to beat Liverpool then we are going to win the league…. if not fuck the butthole and enjoy the ride….

    onwards and upwards..
    #Emery’s red and white army

  19. DaleDaGooner

A pundit said Holdings handball was caused by the attacker pulling him back, they both had their hands up, hands can be up if one needs leverage to head a ball….said it was ok ref didn’t call.

  20. Marko

The entire team player badly in the first thirty minutes…not just Xhaka. It’s not the first time we’ve started badly.

I get that but you know not everyone played poorly first half. But specifically Xhaka was a bit shite

  21. Paulinho

WE – Guendouzi has rendered Elneny null and void, but he more or less hasn’t played a match since the last time I mentioned him so my opinion hasn’t really changed. I still think he is better than Xhaka when it comes to dealing with the press, and that’s the first attribute I look for in a player. Xhaka has other qualities and doesn’t have a superior clone like Elneny has so the Egyptian will likely be off sharpish.

Palace should be an easier victory on Sunday, hopefully we stay injury free.

Elneny is off in the winter break to Marseille or some place else.
He’s redundant already. I hear he loves London though so who knows.

  25. nepGunner

I’m so chuffed today. After a long time I felt my Arsenal is back..or at least on the way to getting back..fuck it, its definitely BACK.

Be Careful What You Wish For. Cunts. Take that up your arses.

All goals we scored today were brilliant but that 3rd goal was something out of this world. A True Arsenal Goal.

I’ve not been a great fan of Mesut lately, but boy today he played like a world class #10 after we conceded (before that he was missing IMO). MOTM withoud a shadow of doubt.

Everyone upped their game after we conceded today but for me the silent heroes today were Toreira and (surprise surprise) Iwobi. The lad was enjoying his footie today, even nutmegging them Leicester boys at times.

And Unai’s in game management is just incredible. It was good to see a manager who really enjoys a great goal too. Thank you Unai.

    10 on the trot!

Be careful what you wish for? My ASS

  26. Marko

Ozil is world class Comment if you disagree

Come on man granted it was probably his best game in about 2+ seasons but come on

  27. CaliGooner

First off I’d like to offer an apology for all of the bad things I said about Bellerin at the beginning of the season.

Boy has he come on and really played a big part of all of these goals that we’ve been knocking in. Great to see the improvement from a lot of the Arsenal players.

Hope some of us that also bash Ozil take the time to point out how wonderful he was on the pitch today. Hope to see much more of that in the future.

  28. ddkingz

never been happier in the last 12 yrs of my football life…..

any say anything negative would be punished or shot in the market square…
Anyone who tries to raise his ugly head saying they have nothing to say until we beat Liverpool should shut their butthole and enjoy the Emery ball rollercoaster…..

Second half was a delight. First was turd. Hell knows what unai said half time.

    Ozil majestic

Iwobi is a different beast this year.

    Torreira neat and commited, warrior.

Xhacka plenty of pull your hair moments as always. He’s not total shite as he has a nice left peg, but he’s an absolute wardrobe out there

  30. raptora

Fantastic goals especially the 3-rd one. Sublime stuff. Never seen goals made with so much movement and one touch plays consistently. Not in Wenger days. Barcelona maybe had some seasons with similar game.

Anyhow, absolutely delighted with what I’m seeing. Fantastic physical condition along with top movement and good passing. Feels good man.

  31. Goobergooner

    Goonah
“We found Xhaka’s best position…..4th choice left back”

Had a good LOL at that.

I missed a section of the second half, and reading the comments it seems we went to 3 at the back. How did the rest of the team set up when the subs were made? cheers guys

What a great win though. 10 in a row. absolutely fantastic stuff from Emery and the boys. Back into the tr4phy spot, YOU BEAUTY!!!

  32. Pierre

Guendouzi made a difference when he came on ,yes aubamayang scored the goals but Guendouzi took the game by the scruff of the neck …

  33. TheLegendaryDB10

Am on such a high after this game!

We are sliwly getting better and better. We really need to sort out our confidence in the first half of the game. If we can start focused from the start, well who knows where we can go!!!

The bindipper game will definitively be a marker. If we can handle this game, this could be a real statement of intent!!!

  34. ddkingz

    wow….

I thought AUBA was a natural winger today….. constantly made a nuisance out of Leicester RM & RB…..

    well I’m not surprised…that’s the Emery effect….

I HAVE A QUESTION TO ASK PALS…. AND PLEASE REALLY NEED AN ANSWER……

When was the last time we went a goal down and won by a 2 goal margin…..?????

    AKB’S PLEASE GOOGLE THAT….

  35. David Smith

Amazing what being coached by proper coaches, and instructed tactically can do to footballers
Work to do, but going good UE.

  36. Peckobill

Emery’s in game management really is second to none , every substitution he’s made this season the timing of the subs have been spot on , the personnel he chosen to come on / go off have been spot on and every formation he changed to with those subs have been spot on . Always an impossible argument to say whose the best manager around with different ones having different budgets and so on but I struggle to see anyone with better in game tactics than emery . It really is forte and it’s a delight to witness

  37. Pierre

I have been telling anyone and everyone that ozil will come good ..

Emery will hopefully push ozil to produce performances like tonight regularly.
Someone said earlier that the movement around ozil was good for him tonight and this is what I meant when I continually said giroud was the wrong type of striker for Arsenal and ozil.

At least the ozil haters will get off his back for a while.

Had a great night watching the game with three mates… 2 of us supporting Arsenal and 2 of the rest supporting Leicester. Pure bantz. 😉

Let’s just say it was a game of two halves and just leave it there. 😉

Very impressed with how Emery continues to use his substitutes to great effect and plays to press for the win… and how he changes his formations to respond to how the game is going.

Going three at back to control the midfield? We would have never seen that from Wenger unless he was behind and it was a desperate throw of the die to save face.

Emery acts from a position of strength, Wenger, especially in his latter years, just reacted often too late to avoid embarrassment.

Well done Emery, well done Arsenal! Bring on Sporting!

You do know that judging xhaka as not good enough for us doesn’t mean we are having a go at you? Just seems you are getting a bit defensive.
Xhaka did play some poor balls from our final 3rd and got bypassed in midfield as he literally does every game.
In saying that he made a few good interceptions and played some good balls too. His positioning is improving under Emery, but he is just sooooooo slow in transition.
I would be telling every midfielder to run at Xhaka on a counter if i was an opposition manager. He likes to jump in or rush up to an attacker, and either gets bypassed with a pass or a side step just waaaaaay to easily. Any sort of pace around him and he is rendered useless.

  42. englandsbest

Ten on the bounce. Fantastic. The second half was marvellous.

Emery is a wizard. He has given the team awareness. Their teamwork approaches the blissful state where every piece moves into position like clockwork.

  43. ddkingz

    let be really realistic AKB’S…..

    FIRST HALF:::LIV..2 VS 1 ARSENAL..

    FULL TIME:::LIV..3 VS 4 ARSENAL…

would you rate it a bad match….

note that, Salah right now is out of sought…mane coming back from hand injury….firminho, constantly bullied by our CB…

    MY only FEAR……XHAKA.

I’D PLAY GUENDOUZI AHEAD OF ASS. CAPTAIN XHAKA

  44. Leedsgunner

James Maddison was impressive, perhaps he’s the Ramsey replacement we’re looking for? Although his attempt to get Xhaka sent off by intimating that he got hit in the face way after the fact was a bit embarrassing. He needs to have a word with himself in the mirror and get a grip.

  45. Pierre

As you know Joe …I was on a wind up when I said that …but if you feel the need to keep repeating it then go ahead ..

  46. Joe

    Jumping on the bandwagon

I called it BEFORE the match.

I’ve always maintained he just needs the
Proper manager other than the loser
    Wenger.

  47. Leedsgunner

I hope this game demonstrates to all why Özil needs to play in the centre behind the striker. He was our talisman tonight and he needs to use this game to push on.

Felt sorry that Lacazette didn’t get his goal especially in the second half when he shot straight at the keeper. For his sheer work rate tonight he deserved a goal.

  48. Pierre

What I noticed is that as soon as we conceded the goal we became much more aggressive in our play and attitude..
Maybe this is the key to get the team starting games on the front foot.

We are much too lacklustre at the start of games ,the movement of the ball is way too slow and there is no intensity in our play …this all improved as soon as we conceded ..

  49. Joe

Hopefully there is no let down in Portugal
    Or CP

Can’t become complacent or get too arrogant.

Hopefully Emery can keep the men grounded

  50. David Smith

Peckobill, emery is not only good, after PSG he has a point to prove.
Mark my words, after a season or two, the very elite rich kids will be chasing him, that will become a very real or Real issue, but one for another day

  51. ddkingz

I’m the worst xhaka fan worldwide, but today, for the first time xhaka did me proud….made me had my heart in my mouth a few time but I couldn’t imagine xhaka at LB and on a yellow card, made 2 blocks and 2 clearance and 1 tackle….

as I earlier said, am an surprised…that’s the Emery effect

best time to be a true fan….
    #onward and upwards….

  52. emiratesstroller

Just returned from tonight’s game. Good result after first 30 minutes where we were frankly rather pedestrian and poor.

    1. Leno and Torreira are most definitely excellent acquisitions.
    2. Lacazette and Aubameyang when they play together in same team are absolutely lethal. They need to be playing together and not in isolation.
    3. One other player who is looking much better than in last two seasons is Mustafi. I think that having Torreira playing in front of him makes all the difference.
    4. Ozil was pedestrian until he scored the goal. Thereafter he looked a completely different player.

The million dollar question remains as ever how we play against top six opposition. The real test will be the game against Liverpool.

  53. nepGunner

No disrespect to the Licht, but I realized how much I take Nachoman for granted today. Such a unsong hero. Hope he’s fit and firing soon.

Also I’m enjoying Unai quietly bitch-slapping the twats who we straight at him from game 1. It was so obvious their agenda behind it but before a new manager even had 10 games under the belt? SMH

  54. Pierre

    Joe
Do you not realise how stupid you sound going from wanting the team to lose to being Arsenal’s no.1 fan.

I feel no different today as I did a year ago when we beat Everton 5-2 away.
Great result today and a great result a year ago .

I am hoping we push on and compete for the title, just like I did last season …
It may be different this season ,who knows , but I hope so ,why ….because I am an Arsenal supporter .

I am just pleased there is a lot of positivity around the club……..the players will always produce better performances if the fans are behind them.

  55. Leedsgunner

Apparently both of our first team left backs suffered injuries in training yesterday. Anyone know how bad these injuries are?

  56. Joe

    No Pierre.

    I don’t sound stupid.

It’s wankers like you who backed wenger for a decade too
Long. This change should have happened years ago. And we would have been much better off for it.

Me on Le Grove knowing we were going to lose isn’t on me
It’s on wenger you muppet. It was his fault. Not the fans fault
    Like you are implying

    We’ve got our Arsenal back.

    No thanks to
    Fans like you

  57. Joe

I am hoping we push on and compete for the title, just like I did last season

Too bad for a decade we’ve known that we weren’t competing for the title, because of the manager in charge

Oh and by this time last year we were out of the title race. Well out of it

  58. Pierre

    Stroller
I agree with you regarding Lacazette and aubamayang..Emery must find a way of getting them both in the starting line up…

Guendouzi really impressed me when he came on …

  59. Emiratesstroller

    Pierre

Yes Guendouzi looks to be an excellent addition to squad. He is young with a lot
of talent, but at the moment I would still select Torreira and Xhaka ahead of him.

What was not discussed too much tonight is the acute shortage of defenders tonight. Missing through injury were Cech, Koscielny, Sokratis, Monreal,
    Kolasinac, Mavropanos and Jenkinson.

Our only defensive option sitting on the bench tonight was an unknown U23
    player.

My main concern was that we played Lichsteiner at left back. Bluntly at 35 he
is not good enough to play for us. Left Back is one of two defensive positions
where the club needs a replacement and I don’t think that Lichsteiner has any
    mileage beyond this season.

  60. Joe

I agree with you regarding Lacazette and aubamayang..Emery must find a way of getting them both in the starting line up…

It’s called rotation. And it worked perfectly today

We have 3 matches this week. Why play both strikers all 3 matches. You’re just asking for injuries.

And then you’ll whine Emery over played them and got them injured. Like the previous wanker manager used to do

Emery is playing it brilliantly. Players won’t get burnt out.

Think he has it figured out more than you two do.

  61. Bamford10

Watching on replay. 16 minutes in and Iwobi has given the ball away or had a bad touch five of the six times he’s had the ball. I am sorry, but this kid is not good enough and he continues to be over-rated by many here and elsewhere.

  62. Confidentgoner

This match should show Xhaka lovers his inadequacies under the press. In the first half, we couldn’t get going as our midfield play broke down via Xhaka under their press till we had the Bellerin / Ozil combo that gave us the goal.

By swapping Xhaka to LB, and bringing Guendouzi yo play on front of Lucas, Ozil had more freedom, Auba ran riot and Iwobi too. We should have scored more but Lacca missed sitters.

Xhaka for LB squad player. Not good enough under the press. All teams do that to us because they know he is very slow.

  63. Confidentgoner

    Bamford,

First half we were barraged left right and centre. Our midfield overrun. We couldn’t find space. Iwobi our outlet was always swarmed on the ball.

Yes, that early part of the game was not inspiring.

Once Xhaka was swapped to LB, and Auba and Guendouzi came on, the game changed!

  64. Joe

    Bam

    You’re so far off

Keep Your comments to yourself until you watch the game or you’ll winding up looking a fool like dale da goonerz

  65. Marko

I will. But I’ve seen enough of him to know his touch isn’t good enough. Not enough quality, IMO

Just as well you said in your opinion

  66. Bamford10

    Marko

I was just being polite. He doesn’t have enough quality to be in the XI of a top team. Not nearly enough quality. Not really even close.

  67. UTarse

Well that was another 2nd half transformation ! 3 great goals and this can only serve to give the players belief. The emirates is also starting to be like a home stadium again…. well in the 2nd half anyway !

  68. Bamford10

Great frickin’ goal from Ozil. 44 minutes in. Tons of running and energy from him on that play and a class finish. If he plays like this regularly, I will gladly sing his praises.

  69. Joe

This Leicester City team has little to nothing going for it. People need to chill on whatever praise they think we deserve for this match.

    Auba and Guendouzi on.

  72. Bamford10

Great pass from Ozil on the second. Best game from him for Arsenal in some time. Let’s see if he can play like this regularly, including against better teams.

Thanks for your input, DD, but I’ll keep doing what I do, thanks.

Is this cunt taking the piss?

We lit them up the 2nd half

  74. Bamford10

Beautiful goal on the third. Brilliant from Ozil. Again, if he wants to play like this regularly, I will gladly sing his praises.

  75. Marko

Iwobi is nothing more than a squad player, though. Sorry.

I mean I agree with that but you’re still criticizing him when he’s actually playing well and continue to blow hot air up Ramsey’s ass when he’s playing shite. You come across as butt hurt because a squad player like Iwobi is benching your boy A-a-ron

  76. Joe

    Bam

We’ve all watched the match thanks

We don’t need your commentary, thanks all the same though.

Especially with how bad you’re reading the match.

  77. Bamford10

    Marko

One, I’m glad you agree with me re Iwobi. Two, my view of him as absolutely nothing to do with Aaron Ramsey. Three, where and when have I recently been singing Ramsey’s praises? Nowhere. Do better.

  78. Marko

    with accuracy and impartiality

If a person has to say that they’re being impartial it usually means that they’re not.

  79. Sancho Monzorla

    Bamford

“but I’ll keep doing what I do, thanks.”

You mean being wrong most of the time and having absolutely zero self awareness about it? Go on then.

  80. Joe

we’ve won 10 on the trot. The last 2 8-2

And this cunt is saying :

. Everyone else has been meh. This Leicester City team has little to nothing going for it. People need to chill on whatever praise they think we deserve for this match.

    Hahaha

Maybe we neutralized LC because they couldn’t get a touch in because we are playing them off the park you muppet

  81. ddkingz

    @bamford
Do you mind carefully watching your highlight reel and singing your self explanation on the match to your kids and grandkids as bedtime stories and stop disturbing the peace on le-fucking-grove for once….you lonely keypad warrior seeking for attention…

  82. ddkingz

maybe bamford wants arsenal to beat someone or anyone 10 nil before he can be positive… you are so self deluded claiming to be self righteous…

  83. China1

Game was too late so I missed it but another great result

    My general feelings

I hope emery can extract that extra 20% out of ozil on a regular basis. I think if you want anything out of him he must play behind the strikers, not out wide

Bellerin has obviously improved a lot and seems like Mustafi is no longer one if the worst CBs in the league on current form

    Leno is doing well

We just need to sort out these iffy starts to most of our matches. Emery needs to work this problem out before a team either gets clinical or lucky with us in the first 20 minutes and gives us a mountain to climb before we’ve really started

Also lol again at the emery sucker punch

This is the first time since forever where you sense if we go a goal down it’s not the start of a total collapse and that our quality will shine through. 10 on the bounce for the first time since 2007.

Rolling back the years. Rolling back the fans anger, frustration, uncertainty, disappointment and the rest.

    Good shit emery!

  84. Champagne charlie

You’ve got to be a special type of prick to rehash the entire game to an audience who’s already seen it.

It’s almost like you’re trying to make this place your own. Sit and watch your recording yourself you lonely fuck, the rest made the effort to follow live and don’t need a time warp in the comments.

For the record, Banford wanted Morata over Lacazette, and maintains he’s a much better striker. He might have shaken the Benteke shit, but the guy hasn’t a clue about strikers. This much is clear.

  85. ddkingz

just managed to listen to jack crawling wheelchair… about his departure connected to the fact that wenger was sacked….

For Christ sake, who is this kid???

Someone who without him been anywhere near the West ham match day squad, they managed to end their winless EPL run… and beat manure…

someone who just spent a whole month nursing an unknown injury, only God knows how he got the the injury….
and yet advising ARSENAL to make aaron-fucking-ramsay fucking captain….

just hope he manages to get up his wheelchair and stair into his mirror, and see ramsey, Walcott and himself play EFL and FA cups….. over hyped bitches

  86. Leedsgunner

Iwobi had one of his best games in his Arsenal career. His renaissance under Emery is a joy to see. Özil is rediscovering what he does best and if he continues it is frightening to think what we could achieve. (Plus he’s scoring!)
We’re making a habit of finishing strong, and whereas we would have lost games like that last season, this season we’re making our own luck…
Last campaign we’d have found a way to lose, this season we’re refusing to believe we’re beaten. We’re showing mental strength in our play rather than just talking about it.

    Night and day.

Be careful what we wish for?

We should have done this years ago. Why were we so afraid?!

    Leeds
But bam said Iwobi is shit and it’s just Leicester and we should take nothing from this game

    Hahaha #bamknows

  88. Leedsgunner

    Bamford10

You really should have listened to the advice to have watch the entire game before writing Iwobi off so comprehensively.

Do you enjoy shooting yourself in the foot?!

    #Iwobigate

  89. Leedsgunner

    Joe

I personally don’t mind Bamford, but like Champagne Charlie says it takes a special breed to take a contrarian stance to an audience who already know the outcome.

    *watched

  90. Joe

The best is when he tells us then the subs are coming on.

    We all watched the game!

    Haha.

Charlie , I don’t agree with you much

  91. William Lynch

Not hearing too much of the “we are playing garbage despite winning” or “have you REALLY enjoyed any of the games this season” rhetoric any more after the last two goal of the season highlighted W’s.

  92. Thorough

When you see how Torreira has made himself our midfield fulcrum you’ll realize we only need to add first teamers going forward. Some of our present first 11 can be converted into squad players.
Thomas Partey and Nicolas Pepe in the summer would be a brilliant way to start.

  93. Leedsgunner

We got away with it last night but I’m not sure Lichtensteiner can play more than 1/2 of a game… especially in a position he was not comfortable with.

If Monreal and Kolasinac were unavailable why didn’t AMN slot in? If this situation with the left backs persists we should play him on Thursday night.

Sporting Lisbon away will be on paper, our toughest gig in our group. We need to keep it disciplined in both halves and wait for our chances. When our chances come we need to just finish them.

We have a great chance to qualify for the next round with a game to spare we shouldn’t squander it.

Ps. Pedro the need to refill the name/email each time persists. Anything you could do to make it revert to how it was before would be appreciated.

  94. Frank Mc

    @ C.C fixed two of your statements…

“You’ve got to be a special type of CUNT to rehash the entire game to an audience who’s already seen it.”

“He might have shaken the Benteke shit, but the guy hasn’t a clue about FOOTBALL This much is clear.”

  95. Receding Hairline

This man called Bamford is beyond redemption. I mean we all watched the game.. Why does he feel the need to come on here and tell us how we should or should not feel about the game. What law in football says team have to be on top for the full 90 to deserve a win.

You are not a normal human being bamford and I maintain you have no business being an educator

  96. Leedsgunner

Respect to Emery for rebuilding the form and confidence of players like Iwobi to such an extent that he’s established players like Ramsey out of the starting line up.

We have a great group of Nigerians in our youth teams now and with Iwobi doing so well, I hope they will follow his example into our first team.

  97. Samesong

Apart from city Arsenal can beat anyone in that top pool. Emery has to find that solidity from the boys in first half of games. Fair play to Leicester they came with a game plan and they were moving our players around in that first half definetly lessons to be learnt from that game.

Iwobi was great in the second half, I was one of his biggest critics but he did well in that second and even the first half he worked his socks off.

We very much thrive in confidence and we looked a top team in the second half.

  98. Leedsgunner

“Thomas Partey and Nicolas Pepe in the summer would be a brilliant way to start.”

Agreed, but why wait until summer? If we sell Ramsey and Welbeck well we should be able to afford at least one of them.

New recruits in January of that quality would be shot in the arm and a statement of intent… go for it Arsenal!

  99. Receding Hairline

Leeds I wouldn’t go into the January window with any expectation lest u be disappointed. Raul S the football director has already said he doesn’t really fancy the winter window for doing serious business and we will basically just be in standby mode waiting for special opportunities

    Joe

You called it on Ozil. He was fantastic. Why can’t he perform like that more often. Just delicious to watch him play like that. Can the real Mesut Ozil please stand up. Maybe quitting the German side was the best thing for him after all.

Aubameyang can’t stop scoring braces from the bench either.

Loving being an arsenal fan again. The joy has returned
    Roll on Thursday night.

  101. gonsterous

Akbs running out of excuses pretty quickly. The “where’s the pretty football?” line seems to have vanished from them.

  102. gonsterous

ozil dominated the highlight reel that I watched. But it’s only Leicester, hope he turns up in more games and consistently

  103. UTarse

The big difference for me is the vibe inside the stadium, the fans have a belief that Emery will make the necessary changes to suit the game and correct any tactical inadequcies.

There is also a togetherness I have not witnessed inside the stadium in a very long time. Let’s see how we get on against the scousers, that will be the next major test for Emery. Up the Arse.

  104. Confidentgoner

A lot of. folks cannot really analyze a game well. Leicester came with the press and outplayed our midfield. They were all over us. We all saw the match. Their goal was always coming.

Our equalizer came from a transition that Ozil masterfully engineered and a beautiful cross from Bellerin with a perfect Ozil finish. I watched our manager, he knew something was wrong in our midfield and our attack and he responded appropriately after some 2nd half minutes.

That response changed the game. Our midfield resisted the press. O hoo! How come?

Guendouzi is a fantastic baller. He handled the press and with Lucas behind him, we picked off Leicester. They didn’t know what hit them..

Xhaka is too limited to anchor our midfield. It showed again yesterday and I am certain that Emery now knows.

Bamford, I am aware that Iwobi misplaced a couple of passes especially in the first half, but that happened to all of them giving their determined press. Iwobi was named mab of the match, so I guess he did many things right, and the manager let him for the full game.

Perhaps, it’s time you reconsider your criticism of Iwobi. The whole world can’t be wrong and you , Bamford, right!

  105. Pedro

Graham, no idea why you’re asking if people hold coaching badges. That’s veering into ‘if you’ve never managed a team, you can’t have an opinion territory’

  106. Pedro

RSPC, the players stunned the ball on 72. Took all the air out of the game. Keeping their legs fresh for the next game.

Wenger would be trying to attack in the 94th minute and wouldn’t make early subs to rest key players.

  107. shaun ellis

I am not a fan of Iwobi or Welbeck but if you start with those three upfront(laccazette ) you have massive menace and physical presence and pressing from the front which is what the manger wants he is using what he has and in the prem physical is needed I like what I see from Emery .throw in welbeck for mikki and the foxes would not have had anywhere near the start they had. bring on Auba ….game over
