I can’t get enough of watching Jose Mourinho spill his career down a toilet he’s been well and truly soiling for the past 3 seasons. Managers like him are a relic of the past. Stale ideas, a nasty approach to man management, and a horribly negative vision of what football should be.
My hope is United fire him and line up another washed up hack, the worry would be if they went hard for a real talent in the shape of Pochettino. I’d be very worried to see what a man like him to could do with a squad that needs some love and excitement. Personally, I’d send Ryan Giggs their way, and I’d pay for the train ticket.
There are also some very boring rumours that Arsenal might go back in for Alexis Sanchez.
Errr… guys… he earns £26m a year for some reason.
We packed him off for a £35m that now looks like a clear case of misrepresentation of goods. They could literally sue us for what we did. Outright revenge for that special signing they dropped on us years ago… yeah, you remember the summer of Silvestre.
Anyway, I wouldn’t want a rancid personality like his near the dressing room. He went to United and was truly exposed for what he is… a talented individual incapable of playing as part of a team. That’s why Pep binned him the first time. Why United thought they’d get anything out of him playing in a criminally dire system like Mourinho’s… well, I have no idea.
Still, we’ll always have that piano visual. Those embarrassing commentaries about ‘how big clubs unveil players.’ That’s one of the archives. Embarrassing, start to finish.
Also:
HE HAS GONE 1000 MINUTES WITHOUT A GOAL LOLOLOLOL
Petr Cech is out for longer than we thought, up to 4 weeks now. That’s a shame. Hopefully, Leno plays so well he won’t return. Harsh, but so is the circle of life. Not sure if you’ve seen Lion King, it explains a lot.
Aaron Ramsey’s agent is attention seeking again, talking to fans, then deleting the tweets. I’d be majorly hacked off if I were a player and my agent just blew a deal for me, I’d be even more annoyed if they were making things worse on Twitter.
Here’s the thing, if Ramsey really was committed, he’d have signed in the summer. Whatever his agent was doing with the deal tipped the club over the edge to invest elsewhere and forfeit a transfer fee. Good riddance. I’m sure reuniting with the blandest CEO of all time is exactly the jump start his career needs.
Finally, there is no Mikhi on Thursday in Baku because of political nonsense.
Right, now we’re done here, how about you jump on the podcast and gorge yourself in Arsenal goodness?

No doubt Veratti’s comments rings true….but i somehow felt slighted by it….no mollycoddling type management, PSG and their bunch of overpaid premadonnas …I like a manager that can whip players into shape instead of palying around during training
Pedro, those rumbling can fuck off. Psg was a serious club when he was there, the work ethic, energy and organization. Seville had that too. Its shaping up at Arsenal too. Thats all I care about.
Well said Dale. If a bit of accountability for the work you are paid for is too much for you then you shouldn’t be in that job
Course you have Pedro. Players coasting by for years with no accountability all of a sudden being asked to put in some work and you’re telling me they’ve lost their smile too? I’m honestly shocked… and surprised… that your agenda is still so transparent. As for Verratti losing his smile I’m sure he can get it back with a move to Barcelona or another mammoth contract extension. As for Thiago Silva hard work and Brazilian don’t go together. Anyway has anyone ever thought to see how the Dortmund players felt about Tuchel after he left them? All their smiles gone… Read more »
Those Veratti comments are interesting because I’ve heard rumblings of the same at Arsenal atm Emery is not at Arsenal for a popularity contest. His players at Valencia and Sevilla seemed to have no issues with his personality. Below are Veratti’s comments “”Each manager has a different way of doing things with his players, of making them understand things. Sometimes with Emery, things were quite difficult… Is the difference relating to human personality? Yes I think so. Tuchel isn’t playing around… But coming to a training session with a shut-off face, that doesn’t work. We have found our smile again,… Read more »
mysticleavesOctober 4, 2018 16:41:01 Well said Dale. If a bit of accountability for the work you are paid for is too much for you then you shouldn’t be in that job Was going to say well said mystic..lol Seems we all agree, Veratti and Thiago Silva can do one. I hate the fact that Neymar is obviously running things at PSG training and matches. You have to feel for Chipo-M and Draxler….they had to wait for Mr Neymar to have all his fun before being substituted in….If i were Draxler, I’d have more ambition than playing second fiddle to Neymar… Read more »
besides the training pics we see daily has enough laughing and playing around as it is, i would actually like less.
No no everyone’s miserable at Arsenal and they haven’t smiled in months. The only way we get the smiles back is with Ivan and Arteta. Watches and smiles that’s what Arsenal are missing
I’m honestly shocked… and surprised… that your agenda is still so transparent.
I am not.
Those poor footballers making millions a week are pissed off they are made to work a little bit at training.
Should have hired arteta then. Maybe he would have taken it easy on them.
Verratti joker
Did anyone know Yannick Bolasie is now plying his trade at Aston Villa??????? I didn’t know! Couldn’t he get into one of the newly promoted teams in the PL??? Weird that one.
Looks like we’re going with a back three.
Holding, Sokratis and Monreal. Like Wenger, it seems that Emery doesn’t trust Kolasinac at LB. A LWB role for him.
Against City, he opted for Maitland Niles at fullback when Monreal wasn’t fit.
Against City, he opted for Maitland Niles at fullback when Monreal wasn’t fit.
Kolasinac was injured also.
Dream10, Kolasinac is in the line up
RH, wasn’t a popularity contest at PSG where he tanked a one-horse race.
He’s an ok coach and we’ll not be finding the next level under him.
Marko, people smile at United’s training ground.
Pedro, I think you would be hard pressed to find a manager who wouldn’t tank a one horse race title with player struggle. He lost the dessing room as soon as Neymar decided he was the be-all….
5:55 o’clock kick off? Who the fuck decided that? Stupid cunts.
Tuchel covering his mouth and chit-chatting with Neymar on the touch line, obliging him to get his hat trick before removing him tells you who’s boss at PSG..lol
Pedro still looking for the next level. Tell me is it in Arteta’s back pocket by any chance? We’re actually doing alright at the moment imagine what it will be like with a couple more transfer windows under his belt. Even less smiles then. Also 8 trophies? Damn straight he’s an okay coach
PedroOctober 4, 2018 16:59:59
RH, wasn’t a popularity contest at PSG where he tanked a one-horse race. He’s an ok coach and we’ll not be finding the next level under him
Arteta would have taken us to the next level for sure
Right Pedro?
We get it Pedro. You’re pissed off. You backed a horse that didn’t win this summer.
Let it go bro. You’re coming off as a sore loser
Arteta would have been the worst hiring we could have made.
Not one other team was interested in him. None of his 4 previous teams showed any interest
Enough said.
He’s an ok coach and we’ll not be finding the next level under him What is the next level?? Besides he has a two year contract to bring a different mentality to players with a poor mentality. You keep making assertions to losing a one horse race yet you seem to rate Jardim, so the question is did Jardim win the french league because he is a good coach or did he win it because Emery was a poor coach?? Besides it’s hard to bring a manager in with the Champions league in mind and complain when he looses the… Read more »
Interesting line-up.
Leno, Lichtsteiner, Holding, Sokratis, Monreal; Elneny, Guendouzi; Iwobi, Smith Rowe, Kolasinac; Welbeck.
Marko, people smile at United’s training ground.
Ridiculous comparison when you realize that we’re on a 7 game winning streak. You’d swear we were bottom three and in need of saving by Arteta
Joe, I’ve written this blog for 11 years now. I have connections all over the club. I’m telling you, you’re dreaming if you think Emery is taking us to the next level. Veratti is spot on.
“people smile at United’s training ground.”
lol
Pedro
Are you trying to tell us Tuchel is a better manager than Emery because he bends over and takes it from Neymar and verratti at al???
Let’s check their CVs shall we ?
Excepted S
Excepted Sanchez of course.
Pedro
What would you consider success for Emery in the next 3 seasons?
DaleDaGooner
Yea Kolasinac is in the lineup. It’s just that he’s starting at LWB/LM. Don’t think he can be trusted as a fullback. Worrying when Monreal will be rested/injured.
Pedro
Are you saying arteta would take us to the next level?
Joe, I’ve written this blog for 11 years now. I have connections all over the club. I’m telling you, you’re dreaming if you think Emery is taking us to the next level. Veratti is spot on.
Veratti said nothing about the next level, he just complained he was’t allowed to laugh and joke with the manager. So i wonder what he was spot on about with regards to the next level.
Maybe you should hold on until PSG actually win the Champions league now they are smiling on the next level
How many managers have PSG gone through in the last few years.
Maybe it’s not the managers, perhaps it’s the players????
We get it. “Tanked a one-horse league” = Winning 5 trophies out of 6 available in a two year period
I’m ok with the appointment of Emery, i just worried he needs to shed himself of some of the Wenger-like approaches (playing some players out of position or their most productive position because of some philosophy he doesn’t want to compromise on)
But non of Tuchel, Jardim or Arteta are next level Pedro, I’m sorry, non of them would be any different when it comes to “next level”
Tuchel will do fine at PSG, as long as he keeps sucking Neymars cock!!
Wish Emery would tank it that bad with us
Wonder why PSG didn’t take arteta. Former player. Backed by pep
And Pedro. And would have taken them to the next level because he’s bold and exciting
How does having connections at the club translate to Emery not taking us to “next level”? If we don’t get to the “next level” whatever it is, it will be because of Stan Kroenke and the Arsenal model not Emery.
Hope Nketiah gets a sniff today
“people smile at United’s training ground.”
Actually I think its, people laugh at United training ground.
They laugh at Maureen and what a bang up job he’s doing!!!
Ha ha Mystic. Emery did quite well it turns out.
Arsenal couldn’t become next level with any manager. Not unless they change their whole transfer policy.
If Emery tanked at PSG, then so far Pep is tanking at City.
“It was an honour for me to work with Unai. He is a great person and a great coach who helped me immensely in my career during the time we were together. I wish him well. For me, he’s one of the top coaches around today.”
David Villa.
“We lost our smiles”
Marco Verratti
Mystic:
Good point. Arsneal will never go to the next level while Sleazy Stan owns the club.
That line up is all about saving as many players for an early kick-off on Sunday.
All Verratti could say is “Emery is difficult” Is he Verratti? you mean a BOSS that refuses to be dictated to by a player??
How weird!!
No offence Pedro.
I mean youve written a blog for 11 years and have connections and all that but I’ll take the judgement of Sven Mislintat and Raul Sanllehi as to what level Emery can take us over yours
*Arsenal
19Leno
16Holding
5Papastathopoulos
18Monreal
12Lichtsteiner
4Elneny
29Guendouzi
31Kolasinac
55Smith-Rowe
23Welbeck
17Iwobi
Looking forward to seeing Smith-Rowe in action again, against Carrier Bag.
“It was an honour for me to work with Unai. He is a great person and a great coach who helped me immensely in my career during the time we were together. I wish him well. For me, he’s one of the top coaches around today.”
David Villa.“We lost our smiles”
Marco Verratti
I’d say that’s on the players then Not Emery
Emerys no good, we should have gone for Mr no trophys pochatino, or that lovely man winning nothing with the bindippers.
Or even Mr no career arteta!
That’s quite a defensive team that’s been put out. Interested to see who is responsible for that midfield?
“If Emery tanked at PSG, then so far Pep is tanking at City.”
BoomXhakalaka!!!
Pedro what say you?
Not to side with Neymar on anything in life but what’s the real issue with leaving a player on so they can get a hat trick? Can’t think of a specific instance but I’m pretty sure that happens all the time. I don’t see what’s bad about obliging a player the chance to get it done.
Wasn’t verratti part of the Italian
Team that didn’t make the World Cup for the first time in ages???
Bet he wasn’t smiling then either
Sancho there is nothing wrong with it and to be honest I’d be pissed off if I was sitting on a hat-trick and got subbed. But he’s a diva. He can’t just moan and move on, he sulks. He’s a little shit!
N5October 4, 2018 17:20:56
Tuchel will do fine at PSG, as long as he keeps sucking Neymars cock!!
lol…
N5
Agreed on that last part.
Wow. Pedro coming pretty hard at Emery in his comments. Nothing that incendiary in a headline of course, that’d sound ridiculous during a 7 match win streak.
No one should be surprised on Pedro’s stance though. The foundation of Le-Grove is based on questioning the manager. I hope he’s not right this time, though.
Sancho spot on. Neymar is hated by many on this platform
I remember a match B52 was to be subbed with 15mins to go but he grabbed a second. And he was left on to get his first ever hattrick. Every player kept on passing to him but it didn’t quite work out. I think it was against Portsmouth. Not quite sure if he scored a domestic hattrick for us after all.
B52
TGSTEL!!!!!!!
His goal v spuddies though.
Sancho, not a thing wrong, but hey Cavani was left on to get more goals, why wasn’t Donatello left to get more goals too, just seemed he was left on not because the manager planned it, but the manager was to scared to take him off till he got his hat trick, after all he’s as big as Messi now….did you see the mouth covering gossip they shared aftwerwards? Looked weird to me that Tuchel seemed like he was having a gossip with his peer.
Joe, Emery was an Ivan hire.
He’s a Europa League manager. He tanked at PSG. He’ll get us organised, he might slip into the top 4, but he’s not the next level.
That’s nothing to do with Arteta. That’s to do with having standards. He wasn’t on anyone’s lips this summer for a reason.
Looking forward to seeing what this team can do today. Big opp for Smith Rowe.
“That’s nothing to do with Arteta. That’s to do with having standards. He wasn’t on anyone’s lips this summer for a reason.”
I assume you mean of people that matter. Otherwise he was on gambons.
Pedro
Waiting for 2 answers from you
What would you consider next level
What would you consider successful
For Emery for the next 3 seasons
This weekend, Sahin was once again at the heart of a dispute, after Tuchel left him out of the squad for the final. The decision was openly criticised by other players after the game, even as Dortmund celebrated their first title in five years. ‘When Julian Weigl is injured, Nuri is the only one who can really replace him properly in defensive midfield,’ said captain Marcel Schmelzer. ‘It really shocked me, I didn’t understand it at all. The coach would have to explain why he did it. We all completely stand behind Nuri.’ With such open criticism from his own… Read more »
Monaco set a very high bar when they won ligue 1.
They scored 107 goal añd accrued 95 points.
I hope we bag Qarabag early enough so we relax mentally for Fulham.
I think some need to go back a few years to the early days of Unai Emery’s managerial career to see how far he has come. He was also a hot wonder kid at a certain point, age seems to be one thing Pedro has against him now, and of course the one horse race he keeps repeating as a defense. I wonder how Pedro will feel if he applied for a top advertising gig and is told the job will be going to a young up and comer with no experience and who has never handled project in his… Read more »
“More dismissing YOUR opinion on Arteta. At least he’d know Arteta’s capabilities or lack thereof in terms of management right now“ My opinion? Confusing yourself obviously, how would I have an opinion on the type of manager Arteta is/would be? I’ve only ever said i’d happily back the club making a bold move based on “promise”. That “promise” is regarded by those in the game, i’m simply acknowledging it whilst you dismiss it. It’s black and white, Pep remarks about Arteta and you dismiss it, Pep remarks about Emery and you give it “Pep likes him” as a ringing endorsement.… Read more »
Pedro you are becoming a bit of an embarrassment on here.
You need to let up on the whole next level is the next level crap and get behind the team at LEAST until we start losing some games.
I actually kind of love it when we are arguing the same side with Marko…your last post on Tuchel is pure gold, complete with quotes and all.
10 minutes to kick off and still at work.
This must be a first.
Fuckin’ sucks.
He tanked at PSG
Ah yes of course he did. 5 trophies absolutely tanked it so he did. Also he was on the shortlist just because you with all your connections inside the club didn’t hear about it doesn’t mean he was an 11th hour hire out of the blue.
Didn’t Emery win everything there was to win with PSG aside from the UCL? Fair few managers around Europe fall into that bracket.
Are we playing a 3-5-2 tonight?
Receding I’m not such a bollox you know…all the time
pedro
I love you mate but you coming across with your I’ve been blogging and know people at the club sounds a bit defensive, especially since you’ve called a lot of things wrong in the last 11 years. You’ve just been told the same bs the club tells journalists when they come knocking for answers
Pedro
Arteta definitely has been all over your lips this summer.
Sorry. Could not resist the set up. Commence the ban.
I don’t think Emery was the first choice for many, if any, on here. But what most sensible people can agree is that given what we were going through, given Wenger’s total mess, given our financial situation and massive structural shifts he was probably the most sensible option we had. Does not require massive amounts of spending, is not a rock the boat type of manager and has overachieved at clubs with less status than Arsenal. Accepted wages less than half of what Wenger was on and is pretty disposable in the mind of the fans. To keep beating him… Read more »
“To keep beating him just smacks of either being butthurt or having an agenda. It’s getting a little tiresome to read thinly veiled swipes at him”
A-fucking-men
3 at the back, interesting
Apparently this ground holds 70k supporters and I’d not even heard of them!!
Haha, defender tried to lay hands on Kolasinac, hands off peasant
Great start
Papas first goal
I’ve only ever said i’d happily back the club making a bold move based on “promise”. You’ve not only said that and you know it otherwise it’d be a quick conversation and we’d be done with it. Pep remarks about Arteta and you dismiss it, Pep remarks about Emery and you give it “Pep likes him” as a ringing endorsement. So if the argument being made is that Emery is unlikable as a coach from a couple former players wouldn’t it make sense to talk about all the other people who don’t have an axe to grind against him. Lucas… Read more »
FFS what are we wearing? I’ve just turned on and thought we were playing in the blue away kit. Red shorts? Horrible.
Anyway. Sokratis scores to make 0-1 to the Arse.
Glad to see Kolasinac back and also taking the piss out of Medvedv!!
If he scores 3, I’ll get Papastathopoulos on my shirt! that’ll cost about £90
While Emery wasn’t on the top of our list, the people we wanted were either intransferrable or weren’t interested in coming. When it was like Arteta would be hired (almost) everyone here lost it. And Emery was generally accepted by almost everyone. We couldn’t have gotten anyone better given the circumstances we operate under and the one we found ourselves in.
Interesting that Guendouzi and Elneny are pushing up the field and Holding is acting as a CDM almost rushing from CB to take on the midfield receiver behind them
I know El Neny isn’t anyone’s cup of tea here, but i like his pressing game when he’s in the midfield
That didn’t take long
CA, I said up top I was interested to see how this team was going to control the middle. It’s different but it’s working!
Marko
It’s exactly the pov I’ve had with Arteta actually, your ignorance is the only thing getting in the way of that.
Even in the end of your comment there you summed up your own narrow, dismissive bollocks. Yea hiring a young manager with mega potential is pretty much a definition of “bold”, but carry on with your quips. Literally all you offer up. Yawn
Arteta definitely has been all over your lips this summer.
Holy shit… what have you been up to
N5
It is interesting.
I would like to see a 3-5-2 against Liverpool, obviously with different personnel.
Why can’t Holding be goalside when marking the player?? simple defending stance
