I was a little sad to see 22-year-old centre back Çağlar Söyüncü go to Leicester. I thought we’d be taking more chances on interesting youth with a couple of seasons under the belt. The midlanders have a very good scouting setup over there, so maybe we’ll see him at a later date if he makes it work with them.

January could be an interesting window if we are struggling defensively, could be a big buy at CB arrives and we spread the cost to the summer when financially we should be in a better place.
Interesting season ahead at the very least, first one in almost a decade that is interesting.

Well considering we are coming from a season where we conceded 51 ( Not 65 Marko please stick to facts) that would be an improvement. I was talking all competitions we conceded 60+ goals the last two seasons. I can only find Emery’s league stats for Valencia but considering they kept getting knocked out of the group stages of the champions league I’d imagine his teams were conceded 50+ goals in all bar the season he finished 3rd with David Villa and co. Mouninho this summer appeared oddly similar to Conte from last summer. I rate Conte much higher but I reckon both were extremely upset by how little their superiors are willing to spend. We know how the story ended for Conte. Jose will have to last the whole season if he wants to repeat Conte’s feat of this past 2017/18, which appears highly unlikely.
In hindsight his team is more balanced than ours. Although not sure how much money he would have needed in order really compete vs Pep and City. Probably why United have not spend as much.
