Dembele rumours will not die

by .

Well, the new boys have started to drip into the club. Torriera has LANDED which is magnificent. This is him pointing.

Screen Shot 2018-07-30 at 20.59.14

Magnificent.

In other news, the stories about us landing Dembele get hotter and hotter. The French wideman has an admirer in Sven M. Barca oddly looking to bin off the magical winger after just one season. I have no idea why they’d consider moving on talent like that, all I know if I LOVE him deeply as a player and think he’d be a fabulous addition to our quite scary attack. Kike Marin, the Spanish God of transfers reckons this could happen… very exciting.

Also, if Barca are offering up a £135m player who is 20 in exchange for Ramsey… well, I don’t want to pack anyone’s bags but come on, that’d be a tasty offer. Ramsey would be on the train to Emanuel Petitville in a season anyway.

OBVIOUSLY I’d like to keep Ramsey, but be real, it’s not looking good.

The Ozil drama carried on into its 16th week, fans in Germany protested on the theme of #IamOzil. Bit dramatic, don’t you think? Guy hung out with the civil rights abuser basket player Enes Kanter called “the Hitler of our century”, now people are protesting his treatment in Germany (the irony), a country that’s lambasted by the hard right the world over for being too kind to immigrants? Please.

Freddi Boban is having NONE OF IT.

“I think that’s a bit cowardly,”

“Ozil’s criticism of social media, especially in the direction of the German Football Association (DFB), is unbearable.

“This blanket charge of racism simply does not correspond to reality. He could have given an interview somewhere, live on TV.

“For us footballers, the rule is ‘be a man and stand up.'”

Freddi, what does it mean to be a man? Why are you leaning on dated stereotypes of masculinity to make a shallow point about racism?

You disgust me.

Anyway, time to sweep this German nonsense under the rug. There’s only one nationality that counts and that’s GOONER. Amirite? Yes. Yes I am.

Right, not a lot to go on today. See you tomorrow!

Jeremy Wilson in the telegraph saying that Ivan has informed the club he has an offer and could leave, though not yet certain. Have a feeling this is either about money ,some sort of twisted revenge on Stan for what he did last summer, asking for a big rise for his part in sorting out Stans expensive mess. Gazidis leaving Arsenal wouldn’t have quite the same impact as say, Bill Gates leaving Microsoft.

This chump oversaw Wenger destroying the club. He can fuck right off. Prick.

The last league man utd won with RVP, who was the fantastic winger that beats his man for fun?

I’m writing Kolasinac off as we speak. Guy is pretty good going forward but in defense he is laughable. Feels like a clone of Andre Santos… And that’s worth having nightmares. I would absolutely play Mustafi ahead of Chambers. There cannot be made comparison between the two. None. Motherfkin Ken fkin Sema from the top club of Ostersund (from this summer in Watford though, so expect more horror) had Chambers’ number. He’s bad. I don’t have hopes that he could improve but who knows. Mustafi with all his faults has been the better CB compared to Koss. Way things are… Read more »

If we sacked Wenger last summer we had a better chance at rebuilding .Now we will do it the hard way. But Wenger was about to do a Clough-notts on us. So can’t complain too much.Imagine the interviewes he will give after relegating us to the fist division.

Sanmi

Guns

What? Ashley fucking Young is your top level winger that beats his man for fun? Yea right. No wonder he’s converted to a left back.

The truth is, it all depends on the system being used. Some system requires no wingers.

Majority of man utd goals that season, goes from a deep Rooney/ carrick cross to a van persie volley!

gambon

Lol, so you find one season where a winning team didnt have great wingers and use that as proof.

The IQ standards on here are falling through the floor.

Maybe we should reduce our wage bill to £50m, that must be a great idea because Leicester won the league with similar.

Next up, Sanmis get rich quick scheme that involves buying loads of lottery tickets and crossing your fingers really hard.

What it proves is, you don’t need a winger to win a league. It all depends on your setup.

Sanmi

However, the most consistent need in winning a league, is a forward that can score a 20+ goal in a season. And a mean defense

At least I am using winger not as a touch line hugger but as in wide forward that has variety in his game. Robben and Ribbery are probably your typical wingers in the base meaning of it. Now players like Salah, Mane, Sterling, and then Bale, younger Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar. All of them play like wide forwards meaning they start their runs from the flank and eventually end up very close to being central. I do agree that if we don’t get a winger/wide forward, say a LB/RB that plays like Marcelo, Dani Alves, Walker could do the job. We… Read more »

The problem I see with Santino’s formation is that across the line of three, you have very little press. Mikki will do a bit, but not loads; Ozil will do none; we have no idea who that winger might end up being. So the question then ends up being, do we want to be a team that does a lot of pressing high up the park and tries to storm the opposition, ala Liverpool, or do we want to be a counter-attacking team that soaks up loads of pressure and then tries to hit on the break? By and large,… Read more »

@ TonyD

“Also begs the question as to why we can’t sell players, such as Perez, Elneny, Jenkinson, Welbeck, Iwobi, Ospina, Campbell and Ramsey. Is it because no other club wants them?”

I’m assuming it’s because of a combination of lack of first team action and wage expectations. For example, are we really to believe that our players are worse or should be cheaper than Patrick Bamford, who’s going to Leeds for £7m+ ? Leeds are selling Ronaldo Vieira to Sampdoria for £6.2m. The thing these guys have got going for them is playing time and lower wages.

Marko

So Bayern say they’re not going to sign Pavard and there’s rumours that Galatasary want Mustafi. In a heartbeat

Marko

Vic in the last few years it was Walker and Rose now it’s Trippier and Davies. Up and down the touch line really excellent attacking full backs

HighburyLegend

They want Mustafi ?? Give them the player for 1 symbolic pound!!

Marc

Whilst I’d love to sign Dembele I’m not sure where the rumours are coming from other than click bait but with reports in Spain that Pogba met with Barca’s DOF regarding a move and what that would cost maybe Barca would need to raise some money. Can our guy’s put together a deal where we not only spread the payments but load them heavily into next summer and beyond?

The other thing is if Pogba leaves ManU then they’ll need a replacement would Ramsey fit the bill?

Cesc Appeal

Spurs were much better in the 2016/17 season where they may not have had wingers but what they did have was Walker and Rose providing all the pace and attack from out wide which compensate for their slower but solid middle. That is what you have to do, if you decide not to have wingers and you’re going to play Aubameyang and Lacazette up front then you need the speed and wide threat to come from your full backs. Cesc Appeal

Marc If United wanted Ramsey at least we could probably absolutely fleece them. I’m sure we could work out some sort of deal with Barcelona if they wanted to sell, we’ve made £2 890 000 from Akpom and Ospina, almost there. In all honesty I would much rather go after Bailey than Dembele if there is a chance at him for £40-50 Million. Sell Perez and Welbeck as well and you could probably raise another £20-30 Million, offer them £25 Million this summer and then another £20 Million next summer which would not even be what we make getting back… Read more »

Highbury

If he’s not going to sign a contract then we need to sell and ManU would end up paying over the odds to make it look like they were spending big to replace Pogba. It’s not ideal but in the long run it might be the best option.

Victorious

Walker and Rose whilst been excellent at wing back duties aren’t that great as defenders, but are admittedly solid enough for a top 6 team however I wouldn’t use ‘great’ to describe them as that would be a bit of a stretch most especially in the case of Trippier and Davies.

Marko

I wouldn’t worry about whether or not a team like Arsenal could replace a player like Mustafi. Honestly. Right off the top of my head I can think of a few most likely attainable players who’d be an upgrade on him were he to go. Diaz of Benfica who we’ve been linked to, Murillo is back at Inter, Pavard might cost a penny, Bonucci is heading back to Juve Benatia is available for a short term solution. My preference would be to get Kimpembe possibly if PSG sign Boateng. I mean he’s replaceable is what I’m getting at

Cesc Appeal

Walker and Rose were the best full backs in the league.

Spurs had the fewest goals against them of anyone in the top six in the 2016/17 season because they had a great system.

No wingers, then you need full backs like that who bring genuine pace and wide threat otherwise you are totally one pace.

The idea of the current dodgy Bellerin, Kolasinac, Mkhitaryan and Ozil being what we have wide is not great at all.

gonsterous

why don’t do a ramsey for Vidal swap ? Vidal would make our midfield tick like a Swiss watch…

Cesc Appeal

Worth nothing as well when Walker went to City he added a totally new dimension to their attack which was evident the second you watched City in preseason.

Cesc Appeal

Vidal is going for £19 Million so not a fair swap for us.

Emery wants N’Zonzi and I trust him, he’s worked with him and I think he could provide a nice balance with Torreira. Would prefer Kovacic but I understand money is tight thanks to the shit position we’re in.

Marko

Vic Spurs have arguably the best full backs in the league. The two now and then Walker and Rose were probably the best full backs of the last few years. Maybe a case can be made for Alonso last season at Chelsea maybe Monreal but on the whole afraid Spurs probably have the better full backs in the top 6. Expecting big things of Mendy this season

Marko

See Vic we can be friends

Cesc Appeal

Marko It will be N’Zonzi if we get another CM. I can see the logic, with Torreira, N’Zonzi as the middle the forward would have more freedom because that is all you need as a central midfield base. We all have worries about Xhaka in terms of weaknesses that need to be covered, Guendouzi while looking a prospect is too young and Elneny is a nothing player. N’Zonzi is solid, not really anything you look at and worry, nothing you think you need to cover for. Would be some turnaround from the last few years, would go from Xhaka, Wilshere,… Read more »

Marko

Hey I got no problem with Nzonzi as a short term solution to a major problem we’ve had in midfield. To be fair their careers might have been better at the Emirates than elsewhere. The lessons learned there though is that not every player we fancy is a sure thing and the club are not under any obligation to buy a player simply because a poster rates him.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Ramsey isn’t going anywhere and he’s probably going to be our captain.

Everyone’s also got to remember the season where Rose and Walker were “brilliant” was also at Shite Hart Lane. One of the smallest pitches in the league. Marko

Bellerin is a dickhead for being a vegan? Not sure I read that correctly.

Showing yourself up and surprising no one might I add. I’m assuming you didn’t see him at all last season… or at Sevilla… or at Monaco… but you probably read about him at Inter

Marko

Rose couldn’t get a look in for England at the World Cup because of fvckin Young.

Form player too. I mean Rose only played 8 games last season

Receding Hairline

i don’t expect much to happen between now and next Thursday as per transfers.

I think its a worry for teams like Chelsea, no one is more adept at unsettling players like Barca and Madrid . They should try and sought the Hazard and Courtois thing before the English window closes.

I don’t really think we will be seeing Nzonzi at Arsenal either, probably a loan move for Dembele, a loan is the only thing that makes sense looking at it from all angles.

WW

bellerin has lichtsteiner breathing down his neck now….the wenger holiday trot outs are now over. The guy will need to start focusing. One thing ive noticed about licht’ he is very professional and focused…I suppose captaining your country does that.

Marko

Jaime he’s a dickhead because he seems like a dickhead. It’s a collection of things but yeah I wouldn’t care about any of that if he was doing the business on the pitch. Even the basics really come on Hector track the runner

Still links to Dembele though, Malcom did well in his first appearance for Barcelona as well.
