Mesut’s agent takes Trumpian approach to reputation restoration

DON’T LET IT AGITATE YOU.

Ivan G has STILL not come out to deny he’s Milan bound. Can you believe this guy?

Our old CEO, Arsene Wenger, left literally 3 months ago, Ivan gets his chance to choose the tint of the kitchen lampshades, and he’s fucking it trying to either get a pay bump… or to go to Milan.

IVAN THE LAST LAUGH WAS TO SUCCEED HERE, NOT BIN OFF A NEW PROJECT 3 MONTHS IN!

It sounds like his contract with AFC ends in September, it’s a crude way to negotiate more money, and hopefully that’s what it is. I really hate the idea that a new CEO has to work with and defend Ivan’s new plan… mainly because there’s a chance it could go badly wrong and you need a steady hand there willing to go to war for the new team.

The thing with new CEOs is they’re all into that 90-day plan shit. The new person will want to make an impression, they’ll need to make changes to show their teeth, and it could be very disruptive. At best it unsettles new people trying to concentrate on their job, at worst there will be actual disruption.

I will state again, this would be epically bad leadership and a totally bizarre decision.

On the flip side, for Ivan, coming into Milan in September gives him 3 months to see what a shit show the place is and start implementing changes in the Jan window. It’s logical to move in the quiet period.

Again though, why would you do it after being a bitch for 10 years?

Why would you do it to Le Grove after it backed you, despite people saying I was getting bribed?

Fucking disgraceful.

Aaron Ramsey has under 20 days left until the transfer window slams shut and he’s this seasons Alexis.

Don’t make us hate you.

My hope is we’re either giving him what he wants, or we’re shifting him on and preparing a mega move for Kovacic of Madrid.

Odd that there are no clubs linked to him. Reality for him is he’ll struggle to get £200k a week anywhere in Europe. The biggest potential payout he’ll get is with us, or if he leaves on a free next year. We cannot let that happen. Some money is better than a year of him protecting his body and playing with the proverbial handbrake on.

Tax cheat, Uli Hoeness ripped into Mesut Ozil in a quite astonishing attack.

“I’m glad this nightmare is over,”

“He’s been playing crap for years.

“The last tackle he won was before the 2014 World Cup. And now he is hiding himself and his poor performances behind this photo.

“His 35 million [social media] followers, that of course do not actually exist in the real world, ensure that Ozil has played exceptionally when he successfully finds his man with a square ball.”

“Whenever we played against Arsenal, we played over him, because we know he’s the weak point”

… was it over? No way, Mesut’s agent fired back with a ballistic missile.

“The comments of Mr Hoeness miss the point completely, as they have absolutely nothing to do with football. He is trying to divert attention away from the real issue, the issue of racism and discrimination in Germany, which is resurging once again within everyday German society.

“As Mesut said in his statement, he accepts reasonable and fair criticism of his football, and deals with that as part of the job. However, Mr Hoeness cannot even provide any actual evidence to back up his foolish statements that are clearly exaggerated. In this case, the stats are clear. Twenty-three goals, 40 assists – which is a German record – and five-time German player of the year – three of which come after 2014.

“Mr Hoeness, we will not waste any more time or energy talking about a subject clearly you know nothing about. Not only are you a disgrace to yourself, but also and more importantly a shame to Bayern Munich and the people of Germany.”

This whole conversation is basically what Arsenal fans have been doing for 5 years. It’s pretty amusing.

‘Ozil doesn’t tackle!’

‘HE MADE 200 PASSES IN 3 MINUTES’

‘He makes Arsenal weak!’

‘HE WON THE GERMAN PLAYER OF THE YEAR 9 TIMES’

‘He hides!’

‘LOOK AT THIS COMP OF HIM THAT PROVES EVERYTHING’

There are many that think his agent is fantastic (Arsenal fans), I’m not so sure. I’d argue that the Donald Trump approach to reputation restoration is not the smartest. It might feel cathartic in the moment, but the average Joe just sees a guy deflecting and not owning a mistake and shite World Cup. What exactly is the objective of this press? I can’t see it as anything outside disruption and revenge.

If I were advising him, I’d have suggested a Raheem Sterling like approach to restoring trust and love. Get people close to him to defend his honour in the media, be photographed outside refugee school you’re sponsoring to help integrate kids into Germany and do some thoughtful interviews that rehumanize you with the populace (when you’re a ghost in media, it’s very easy to demonise your character).

I’d also show some remorse for the picture. You can ‘what about’ it until the cows come home, sharp reality is the average Joe sees you standing tall with an abhorrent foreign leader just before a World Cup. That’s harsh imagery to erase, even if Merkel did just lift Turkish sanctions.

Anyway, that’s me done.

Regards Gazidis.

He should be ashamed and embarrassed.

An absolute leech.

gambon

Vic

I posted last week a comparison last week showing that since joining the PL, Ozil has a lower goal contribution per season than any of his rivals.

Lower than Eriksen, lower than DeBruyne, lower than Alli, lower than Hazard.

All style, no substance.

Outside of the first half of the 15/16 season (16 assists in 19 games) he has been garbage for 4.5 years.

He is only even in the conversation because he managed to stat-pad during the worst season the PL has ever seen.

Even that season he completely bottled it after christmas.

Victorious

Bye Gazidis

Don’t let the door hit our backside on your way out

Gambon

There will be no shortage of good candidates to replace Gazidis as CEO.

The main concern is if Sanhelli and Mislintat leave with him. The recruitment
of these two has proved to be a major bonus in the way that the club has changed since Wenger’s departure.

Carts, I have the feeling that it is the 3rd, that our players aren’t earning any interest from other teams out there.

“He should be ashamed and embarrassed.”

Over what??

What should cause him shame and embarrassment?

That he has been gainfully employed for 10 years and another mega club looking to rebuild has picked him as the CEO they want.

Arse&Nose©

I was shocked at Ozil’s poor stats when Gambon raised it earlier.

It looks like in the Premier league he has averaged 5 goals and 10 assists a season over 5 seasons, that’s not elite.

I think Emery is the manager to really get the best out of Mkhitaryan again. I think he’s going to have a great season for us.

I’m all about the Bailey train now.

I think Emery is going to give Chambers a real go this year, the new contract and watching the training videos just make me think that Sokratis, Chambers might be the preferred CB pairing with Mavropanos getting some game time.

I disagree. For me it is perfectly valid to criticise and hold an opposing opinion to someone else. I’m not going to get personal with someone or resort to abuse just because they have different views to mine. It’s healthy to debate and challenge. It can lead to people clarifying their thinking while ideas and views are shared.

It’s quite poor. But while we are at it lets do the same for his direct competition in the league over the same period. I am sure it will look similar to worse. His average reflects the going output for players his position. Even if it looks “poor”

Personally I want ozil to try more shots and score more goals.

Victorious “But Why would you be judging performances per season basis? I reckon the Willian to Barca deal would have probably sealed the Bailey to Chelsea deal. Young capable replacement and would cost £40m. He’s also a boyhood Chelsea fan.

The fact that Chelsea turned down three bids for Willian, I’m not sure they would spend the £40m on him now so this may have opened up an opportunity for Arsenal to slide in.

Hopefully, we are in for him, or Dembele. It seems that Roma could make a play for Bailey due to being pipped to Malcom at the ‘last minute’ also.
