Sooooo… I broke my arm yesterday, and typing has gone from a breeze to a farce. Bear with me people, all I want to do is make sweet long-form content.
Press are going hard that Ozil asked to come back to AFC early after his WC abomination. If true, that’s great news, I mean, let’s be real, he used his vacation days through the season, so it’s no surprise he wants back early. He also didn’t play that much in the WC. Good news if he wants to fight this season, we’ll need him consistently at his best if we’re to progress.
… but, make no mistake, he hasn’t given a fuck up until now, regardless of what the Oziltoligists will have you believe. He needs to do some work this year to bring the fans back onboard.
Jezza W broke the story that Arsenal will be hiring in a Russian game maker to oversee data for injuries.
Zhilkin’s remit will centre on analysing injury and physical data rather than recruitment or technical performance. Injuries were a significant problem for Arsenal across a series of seasons in the second decade of Arsene Wenger’s reign as manager and an issue that was the subject of several internal reviews.
It all also follows a huge overhaul in the club’s medical staff under Burgess, who was appointed in July 2017, following Wenger’s departure as manager earlier this year. As well as Colin Lewin leaving his job as head of medical services, physiotherapists Andy Rolls and Ben Ashworth and osteopath Dr Philippe Boixel were all let go.
Zhilkin has described himself as a “data scientist interested in rational thinking, automation, data visualisation, machine learning, association football”.
Joel Lopez, the 16 yr old Barca left-back will join when he’s 17.
“It will be the club that I always carry in my heart for all the wonderful moments that I have lived.
“It was a difficult decision but after contemplating it with my family I made the decision to go and start a new stage as a footballer with great enthusiasm.”
Watch your back Nacho and BIG Kol, the kid is coming for your living and your self-esteem.
Sad news about The Ox being out for the year, but, you can’t say its not the exact same issue he had with us. We wish him a swift recovery!
Right, I’m done, that was rank, see you tomorrow!

May be his date stood him up.. 😛 😛
Respect Pedro for posting even though you are indisposed… did you type this out with a pen in your mouth? Lol. (That’s real dedication to the cause.)
Wishing you a quick and full recovery.

“If you ignore the ability to balance the books they’ve spent considerably more on playing talent in an 8 year period and not achieved more than Arsenal.” What an embarrassing opinion seriously. I just made the calculations since 2010/11 till 2017/18 excluding this summer because both clubs will sell and it will look very different. Liverpool net money spent from 2010/11 to 2017/18 – minus £181m Arsenal net money spent on transfers from 2010/11 to 2017/18 – minus £213m If you take a smaller time frame because we were held back by the stadium still, so if you take a… Read more »
Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t Ozil coming back at the same time as Iwobi and El Neney (who also didn’t make it past the group stage)?
Hardly ‘cutting your vacation short’ innit?
A response to a champagne charlie.
Sorry Pedro
Next time, stick to what you know. Don’t go trying high jumps when you’re a Lukaku. lol
Man City is considering selling Sterling if he doesn’t agree new terms according to the Telegraph. His contract ends in 2020 but they’re not going to let him run it down.
Worth a bid considering he wanted to play for us anyways when he was younger? Still good age, and although he didn’t score in the World Cup, I personally think he played well considering his speed and runs unsettle defences wherever he plays.
“Sooooo… I broke my arm yesterday”
Are you Mesut in disguise ??
Pedro on ozil
” He needs to do some work this year to bring the fans back onboard.”
Of course he has.. Havn’t you notice how the fans at the Emirates give him abuse everytime he takes a corner….
That’s if applauding and signing his name is abuse?
Leeds
I said a while ago that sterling will be surplus to requirements at city now that mahrez has arrived.
Also said that last seasons scoring exploits were a freak.
“I don’t even know if he is flying, if he is in Los Angeles or if he is in Manchester – I have no idea about it,”
Maureen about Sanchez. (lolZ)
Pierre in denial again. It’s like thinking that Wenger Out was a minority in the end of his reign. A huge mass of fans all over the world have seen how Ozil gives two fuks for his teams nowadays. Including German legends of the game, directors in German football at the moment. Every person with half a brain can see that he is not really trying, but is playing like he’s forced to play. Same fans that are applauding Ozil are the ones who sang “There’s only one Arsene Wenger” when he’s been underperforming as a manager for years and… Read more »

get well soon. the upside to having a broken hand, your partner has to do all the work in bed..
Raptora
The internet is not the real world, surely you understand that.
You will find more words in support of ozil from ex pros and people that manage him but they are not highlighted.
For instance on here you have dimmer and dimmer slagging off Arsenal every day…. It means nothing, their words are worthless.
Raptora
I will mention again that ozil created more chances v s. korea more chances in a single game than any other player in the world cup..
Can you explain how he manages to do that without trying or giving 2 fcks for the team
“For instance on here you have dimmer and dimmer slagging off Arsenal every day”
Actually I’ve seen everyone in this blog super excited about the new season. Everyone has said how this is the first time in a decade they feel good about our team going in to the new season. And how they cannot wait for the season to begin.
Wasn’t the case with Wenger at the helm. Sorry.
The chances created stat again. You surely are taking the piss now…
And he does it without even trying…
Pedro My sympathy in hearing about your arm breakage. Not a pleasant experience.Hopefully not your usual writing arm! Yes it is about time that there was a major clearout of backroom staff. It was clearly necessary, although I have yet to see any movement in the boardroom, which needs also some new blood. Reverting back to what I have posted earlier today on the previous thread I would like to pose a serious question. How many of the players that Arsenal have recruited this year would have been of interest to Man City, Man Utd or Chelsea? 1. AUBAMEYANG is… Read more »

A broken arm? Christ.
Why are we feeling sorry for Chamberlain? He is being paid, right??? Tell me he’ll be okay for money!!! Does he have a go fund me page? Is he okay??? You sure???
Fuck him and that balls eyed twat.
He strolls about the pitch without a care in the world, putting no effort in.
And he still manages to create 7 chances for his team mates (at least 2 of them sitters).
Imagine if his team mates had managed to convert a couple of those chances… Ozil would have been considered a hero.
Pedro
I hear that the nurses in the hospital are hot! You might not want to get better too fast if it’s true.Except…
u have to factor in we have fvck elsewhere to spout our daily bs on footy, so do come back firing man!
Peter has a wanking injury…he hasn’t fractured his T5 and T7 vertebrae.
I assume he’ll regain full mastabatory fitness in 4-6 weeks.
For someone who is never shooting and always overpossessing the ball, all it takes is to make 5 tame crosses to get those 5 chances created. It’s a shit stat that punishes you if you lead the team by shooting or by going inside of the box to open up for another player who will get the chance created point for himself instead. Messi will dribble and shoot or dribble between 3 and pass to an open teammate, Ozil would make a tame cross. Also corners. If Ozil’s passes are as good as KdB then I’ll give him that. They… Read more »

Is he back that early though? Three weeks since Germany were knocked out. Only played in two games. In fact since the 3/5 when we got knocked out by Atletico (his last Arsenal game) he only played in two world cup games and a friendly defeat to Austria. Missed three games for us 2 friendlys and one world cup game for Germany. Doesn’t need that much time off if we’re honest

WTF surely you are a gangster, streetfighter or just unfortunate to be in spuds pub mouthing off about arsenal’s achievements and got the shit beat outta u..lol
Again with the chances created Pierre. But what about his big chances created stats? How are they
Recent hirings show what a complete shambles of a luddite Wenger actually was, post at least.
He was in complete denial on the injury situation, and wouldnt let anyone do anything about it ,if his precious yes men were threatened.
Victorious
Ha. No, I’m just a bit of an all action hero. Going faster, harder or higher sometimes results in injury.
Or did I just fall off a lot of barstools? Can’t remember.
“that balls eyed twat.”
lol
The question has to be asked… in a Spurs pub what would you actually talk about?
Without any trophies to show, you would have to talk about beating Arsenal in the league for the past two seasons.
Better enjoy that while it lasts.
It’s changing back to the way it has been this year.
Talking about ozil Chances created is like saying, i talked to twenty girls today and none gave me their number, but my friend spoke to two and he had a threesome last night. Well, i created many chances right? I’m the mvp?
Guns
That would explain it then, what a hero.
“Better enjoy that while it lasts.”
Indeed..
Have they actually signed any player yet? Coupled with the fact the spine of their squad will probably have been exhausted having had more minutes than another other top6 club at the world cup
willing to bet St. totteringham’s day come sooner this season…
*anyother
I think Liverpool might actually win the title this year.
They have recruited some excellent players.
Great attack.
Brilliant middle.
And now an excellent defence.
I think city will be a bit hungover. Man Utd are fucking ugly to watch.
Chelsea are done.
Spurs are spurs.
For me, it could be a city Liverpool shootout with us, if things go well, for third. But only if we click and get the Wenger ghost out of the stadium.
I like Liverpool. Their weak link is actually Klopp. I fancy if the scouse schleppers had Pep, they would walk the league.
“But only if we click and get the Wenger ghost out of the stadium. ”
Damn it GoH, Vicuntious and Pierre are very quiet at the moment, why “waking them up” with that kind of comments ??
HL
“Who you gonna call”?
Ggggggghhhhooooossssstttttt…busters.
Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang made it five goals in three pre-season run-outs, but a mistake from new signing Bernd Leno handed Brentford victory in a behind closed doors friendly at London Colney on Thursday.

Making howlers already?
Great attack. Brilliant middle. And now an excellent defence.” I like a competitive league, but think you might be going a bit overboard here You’re assuming the stars align for them, that Alisson will be second coming of buffon, that Salah or someone else will have a freak season, the duo of Keira and Fabinho will settle seamlessly and boss the midfield…etc Except it doesn’t work that way..the transition from other leagues to the EPL is a daunting task on itself(bakayoko,B.silva rings a bell?) and coupled with the burden of expectations and I won’t be surprised to see them struggle I agree with u… Read more »
I’m very happy with the replacement of manager and the change of personnel around him. It was long overdue. But I can’t share the enthusiasm of some on here about our summer signings. None of them is world class, and at least three of them (out of five) are average/ageing players. Pace will be an issue as all of them are rather slow players. The poor quality of signings baffles me as we’ve managed to get rid of some dead wood. Am I being too harsh?
Leno out!!! Burn the witch.
V
I agree but Liverpool are still an excellent side.
Josip
I’ve said the same myself. Arsenal are gambling on this one season to get back into the CL.
“I agree with u on Klopp though,a chest puffing hipster of a manager”
Why not…
Cech out!! Burn him if he won’t go!!
RR
Wouldn’t be getting my knickers in a twist over close door howlers, even good to get ’em mistakes out the system and ironed out before first match of the season
Are people aware that Bernd Leno had an even worse shots-to-save ratio than the 35 year old Petr Cech of last season?
Leno £20m
Allinson £66m
I doubt if this dude is three times the player Leno is, but you get what you pay for.
If Leno can’t keep clean sheets against a bunch of estate agents masquerading as Brentford, we’re in trouble.
Cech had a horror show in his first outing for us which was way more costly
better to have those errors wiped out in close doors friendlies before proper business commence
I have a very sneaky feeling that SOMEHOW emery is going to get ozil playing real football for us For that to happen he needs to ensure our MF is watertight defensively and effectively tactically. Lastly he needs to somehow motivate the fucker. Dunno how he can do that but I just have a sneaky feeling. At the end of the day, ozil is a fair weather player. If the team around him make the weather fair then he can do his thing without much pressure and make a big difference. A big problem with him is that he can’t… Read more »
Yeah it seems Ozil, Iwobi and Elneny are all due back at the same time which makes sense given they were all dumped out of the World Cup at the same time.
Something didn’t sound right when we were using words like ‘effort’ and ‘fight’.
Long story short ozil needs to fight when the chips are down but the rest of the team also need to be enablers for him because his strengths and weaknesses are extreme but widely understood. If you put ozil on the pitch you play to his strengths, that simple.
For me that probably means either dropping Ramsey because ozil needs two disciplined players behind him, forcing Ramsey to be more disciplined behind him or putting Ramsey on the wing (I’m not keen)
Apparently we lost a closed behind the doors friendly to Brentford yesterday.
https://www.football.london/arsenal-fc/fixtures-results/arsenal-friendly-2018-brentford-preseason-14931718
We lost to Brentford in a closed doors friendly, though it seems the match may have been a bit strange in not running for the full amount of time etc.
But that is the first decent opposition Emery has seen and we lost with Leno reportedly dropping a mistake.
A result like that will give Emery more to think about than beating nobodies and shows there’s work still to be done.
Just over a week until we play Atletico, while that is still a pre-season game Emery will want to make a statement there.
Hasn’t Leno been set on fire yet? I thought we had decided…he has to go.
Why set Leno on fire when both Cech and truth’s buddy are still with us?
Leno feels like today’s scapegoat.
Ospina doesn’t deserve any critique…he barely registers on an level.
Nothing substantiative should be drawn from the runaround with the buys from Brentford
I imagine the match against ATM will serve a better gauge as to what extent progress has truly been made in preparation for the season opener
Would also give us inkling to Emery’s preferred formation and how he fits in personnels into said formations
City will probably have way too much for Pool. Klopp is a specialist in failure mk II. He will find a way to fk it up. Their team does look good on paper though. I’m talked about my worry re the new managerial team. Mikki is not really what we needed. Getting another really expensive striker when you are pretty bad in all areas of the pitch didn’t make much sense. Ozil on a mega contract is already showing how little flexibility we have to approach stars because Mesut takes the salary of 3 classy players. Paying so much for… Read more »
So Ozil isn’t coming back early then…
So Lemme get this straight,
a ball has’nt been kicked yet but legrove will make you believe its already a two-horse race for the title, hmmmmmm
You’re not one of those who thinks we all start on equal footing? City are favourites Liverpool are probably 2nd with their signings then United. We’re 6th favourites
I’ll have you know that Ozil is in the gym doing conditioning training. Ha ha ha. Nah, can you imagine that swivel eyed wastrel doing that? He’s on holiday.
Erhmmm.. You forgot to add IMO.. which basically means you might have us as 10th favorites but will still meansfvck all… because every season brings with it it’s uniqueness and unpredictability
Everton want Welbeck?
It’s like just being scouse isn’t enough for them…they literally want to really fuck things up for themselves.
Seriously, any club that wants welbeck is not a serious club…oh, wait.
Raptors, Marko I like your zeal and energy towards arsenal’s success. but IMO your take on Ozil seems to be more of hate of the previous gaffer than on the player. yes, ozil might not be @ his best at the moment, but he isn’t dross. He’s quality and enough of others complaining about his salary. players who perform(ed) worst than him in the league take more than his earns. I don’t think his salary is £350,000p/w as reported. its all assumptions from the media. Pierre, I also think your defence of Ozil based on chances created is quite absurd.… Read more »

” But I can’t share the enthusiasm of some on here about our summer signings. None of them is world class…”
don’t need to be. the talent’s already here. it’s the ‘water carriers’ we were short of.
Bet Marko called the summer from a mile..the year Leicester won the title
City are favorites because they basically still have together the squad that set a record points for EPL winners in a season
Dippers are splashing the coins left right center doesn’t guarantee a title challenge
Football ain’t played on paper but on field where anything can happen on any given day, there is luck and nothing is ever sure
Wallace
Quite.
don’t need to be. the talent’s already here. it’s the ‘water carriers’ we were short of.
Utterly absurd. There are teams with better squads and have signed better players. We’re not short water carriers from a title tilt. We’ve strengthened our starting 11 to the tune of 3 players two I’m fairly confident in one (Sokratis) I’m skeptical of. We absolutely need world class signings because we’ve only got one worldie in our team
Bet Marko called the summer from a mile..the year Leicester won the title
A fluke. And no we’re not all on equal footing you’re a fool if you think us or Spurs have as much a chance as City and Liverpool. Or West Ham or Burnley. Maybe Brighton could do a Leicester this season
“Football ain’t played on paper but on field where anything can happen on any given day, there is luck and nothing is ever sure”
Leicester agree.
Marko
“Utterly absurd. There are teams with better squads and have signed better players.”
if you’re waiting for our squad to rival City’s or Utd’s you might be waiting some time.
I don’t buy into the Liverpool hype. Sure their first XI looks good on paper, but to win a title when you are playing the Champions League you need a good supporting cast which is going to carry you through and ground out wins when you’re hit by suspensions and injuries. Klopp, despite attracting the plaudits, right now is as much of a cheque book manager as Pep is. They’ve blown £130m on two players… yes, they are world class players but what if they get injured or they are out of form? Do they have the supporting cast to… Read more »
if you’re waiting for our squad to rival City’s or Utd’s you might be waiting some time.
Right so you saying we don’t need world class signings but were just lacking water carriers is absurd
I agree that Liverpool look very strong this season. They have bought well and the squad is rich.
The weakness for me is the style Klopp plays – i.e. the 100 mph, hard press. It works well up to a point. But after 60 – 70 minutes you can see the players visibly start to wilt.
The high press is very hard to sustain for 90+ minutes and opposition managers will obviously adapt by withstanding the first half tsunami and hitting on the break in the second half when their players are starting to flag.
We will win the Europa League this year
Marko nobody has talked about equal footing you dimwit ofc given the spending powers of city and dippers we are already handicapped going into the season
The folly is always you passing your opinions as facts when its just that your opinion,
it’s not always as black and white the way u put it,the fun football I’d in its unpredictability and no way we’re 6th favorites going by whats been happening,
you’d be the fool to believe we start from 6th position when the season begins
It is amazing to think that there are still those amongst us who feel it was the minority that wanted Wenger out.
What absolute balderdash!
.
The Emirates/Wenger disciples, who kept their allegiance to the regime going for so long, must be pretty dim if they think this is true.
The vast majority of non-attendees/former STH’s/ ex-members/domestic and international supporters, wanted it to end long ago.
As for Ozil, his negative demeanor was evident long ago.
However, let’s see what Emery can do.
“
The folly is always you passing your opinions as facts when its just that your opinion
How’s that? Bookies and pundits would put City as favourites Liverpool second with their signings and us around 6th.
CA dunno about that but I think we’ll get top 4
Micheal
By which time, Liverpool will be three goals up!
I reckon we are a good punt for top 4 this year. I think City and Pool are stronger but chelsea and utd are in flux, spuds are a one man team and we have dropped the biggest millstone from around our necks this summer.
Does anyone ITK know whats the scoop with Aaron Ramsey? Money, playing position etc etc?
Im loving that ppl aren’t optimistic about us, I think we can surprise this year.
Marko
“Right so you saying we don’t need world class signings but were just lacking water carriers is absurd”
eh? I’m saying we’ve got 4 attacking players who are all serious quality. we needed to bring in a player or two who would allow them to do their stuff. that’s what we’ve done. if you’re wanting a team full of world class players you’re supporting the wrong club. try City or Madrid.
A quick bit of Maths for you all –
Arsenal’s global fanbase = 27,000,000 approx
Subtract 60,000.
26,940,000 were fed up with Wenger.
Ok, I admit, slight exaggeration, but you get the idea.
Micheal24
My goodness! when will u give it a rest, Wenger is gone!..move the fvck on
People are talking about what the future holds for the club, why not join in the debate instead of allowing your obsession always get the better of you
“My goodness! when will u give it a rest, Wenger is gone!.”
Vicuntious have you finally seen an exorcist ??

Possibly. Not every team though, especially those who defend with discipline. My hope is that we have become disciplined.
