Wenger liberal with extent of his incompetence

I’ve been dropping so many positive bombs on you the last few days, I actually have people on Twitter trying to convince me Wenger is a bad manager.

KNOW YOUR HISTORY.

Anyway, bit of a Wenger rant incoming.

I absolutely detest the way he manipulates the truth to suit his survivalist instincts. Nothing is ever his fault. He always falls back on this ‘I’m a pretty classy guy’ angle, and fans always fall for it.

Let’s crack into his latest reimagining of history.

“I cannot understand anybody wanting to leave Arsenal”

“But in 30 years of doing transfers, you learn a lot about human beings. As a professional, it was perhaps his last contract at the top level and an important contract.”

This is Wenger setting the stage. He’s telling you he’s been around for a while, back when footballers were paid with eggs and bread., and it’s not the same. He’s also trying to sell Arsenal as a dream in itself, bypassing the realities of why players don’t want to be here despite us having all the necessary ingredients a modern player needs (excellent pay, location, sell-out stadium).

“We did what we tried to do and went as far as we could (with money). Even Manchester City moved out of it in the end. That tells you we had no chance to give him a contract.”

This is where he’s playing games.

True, Arsenal are unable to pay Alexis £400k a week. I’m not sure we’re that sort of club, and I’m not sure we want to be. However, the problem Arsenal ran into didn’t stem from Alexis wanting £400k a week. They came from Wenger and Gazidis not pulling the trigger on deals in 2015.

If you remember, we’d beaten Villa in the cup final and all the talk that summer was about record deals for our two star men. The agents were going big, the talk moved to £200k a week, at the time, the money seemed wild, but reality was any CEO worth his salt could see where wages were going with the new TV deal. Worth noting as well, that summer, we put Theo on a £140k a week deal. It was clear what it’d take to get proper players to sign on.

The subplot here is that, as you all know, Wenger needs to be the highest paid man at the club. £200k a week was higher than his £140k a week. We didn’t tie our best players down to long deals when sentiment around the club was great because of Wenger’s ego and Ivan’ meekness in overruling him.

Wenger went on to fuck up the summer of 2015, signing only Petr Cech. By 2016, money started to flood the game, the players could see where their mates’ salaries were going, then by the time no deal had been done by December, and the team were failing, it was clear how things were going to pan out.

The absolute joke of it all is this… Wenger oversaw a terrible season and was given a new deal adn a pay bump. To what number? £10m a year, which is £192k a week. The number we had been trying to tie Ozil and Sanchez down to since last summer. The club basically forfeited the ability to sell Alexis for £90m because of ego, or a total lack of planning. I’m putting my money on ego.

Hopefully, Sanllehi, Sven and Huss Fahmy are in a position to put this nonsense to bed once and for all. Wenger isn’t worth £10m and his ego shouldn’t guide our contract planning approach or our transfer strategy. The new team is off to a good start, if we end the window with a defender, Aubameyang and Mikki, we’re in good shape.

Before the Armenian was misused at United, he was a really great player. He has a touch of the Cazorla’s about his game. He’s a hard worker, maybe not industrious enough for Jose, but more than enough for Tuchel and Klopp. If we can spark his confidence, I think we could have good run in for the rest of the season.

My guess is the club are gambling on those two taking us to Europa League glory. Most likely our best chance for Champions League qualification. 5-8 points off Liverpool seems a bit of an ask considering the poor shape our team is in at the moment.

UPDATE: Mikki is not cup tied. Aubameyang is.

Still, you never know.

I mean, you likely do. I’m not sure Wenger’s magic final season push is still there. But at least if we have players that want to go for it, we have a better chance. Seriously, Mikki, Auba, Ramsey, Ozil and Lacazette could be pretty exciting.

Right, that’s me done.

Post more or less is fair summary of current situation with Wenger and Club.

Wenger and Coaches need to be replaced and our academy development and transfer business improved.

The revenues will also improve if we start becoming more ambitious and less
acquiescent of our current position in the league pecking order.Bluntly Wenger is always making excuses for his lack of success.

Arsenal are also a club of history and tradition, but more importantly we are
based in London. That should be a huge selling point for increasingly wealthy
    footballers and their families.

  2. David Smith

wenger is finished, and by allowing those new people to act over the managers head, hopefully Stan now gets it as well.
Perhaps the mess up last summer was the final straw.
No way would wenger have been so quick and decisive , especially in Jan. It would be put off until the summer, then the end of the summer, then infinity. Steve Rowley would be going out to germany to help get things through either
Just hope Stan lets us become a very different club when wenger goes, guess with the activity of Raul, Sven and co, the initial signs are encouraging
when wenger has gone, and people realise what has happened, only disgust will remain

  3. TitsMcGee

Seriously, Mikki, Auba, Ramsey, Ozil and Lacazette could be pretty exciting.”

Sanchez, Ramsey, Ozil and Lacazette should have been exciting as well no?

What makes you think Wenger is going to flip some switch and right what he’s gotten wrong for the last decade and a half? What’s he been doing? Biding his time?

    Pretty silly.

  4. shaun ellis

after loosing out on suarez the way that idiot did and then to somehow get as lucky as he did to get sanchez and then to fuck up the contract with that lazy ass attitude of his .It is near on impossible to manage a club as bad as Wenger has, these are Sepp Blatter levels of arrogance

swapping sanchez for Mikki is a shit deal anyway you look at it as the damage was really done sometime ago but yet you have fans saying they are getting excited and it’s a good deal ……………….what the fuck? even fans who despise wenger are saying this is a good deal and right there is where the problem with the fan base is ….is gross neglect of a contract situation no matter how you slice it it’s shocking that c… is still there

  5. HighburyLegend

“Seriously, Mikki, Auba, Ramsey, Ozil and Lacazette could be pretty exciting.”

    Agree.
But we have nothing left to play this season… ELC apart of course.

  6. Pierre

Pre season.. City were in for sanchez and we were trying to get sterling in a swap and Le grovellers widely criticised the decision for even thinking about signing him.
No one on here rated sterling but sterling has wiped the floor with sanchez performance wise this season.

Move on 6 months and we have a similar scenario with mkhitarayan and surprise surprise, Le grovellers think it’s a bad deal and don’t rate mkhitarayan and are already slagging him off.

The problem now for the Wenger obsessives is that it feels like the tide is turning back in Wengers favour and the obsessives are not sure what to do.

A couple of weeks ago when we lost to forest the obsessives were rejoicing in our demise and the fact that sanchez and özil were leaving for nothing.
The obsessives regard any positivity on the transfer dealings in the last few days as an endorsement of Wenger which of course it is not.
The life of a Wenger obsessive must be a pretty depressing experience as just as you see a light at the end of the tunnel, it disappears….
It always brings a smile to my face when I think of them pulling their hair out in frustration when Wenger dodges the bullet again.

  7. Bamford10

More withering criticism of Wenger, please. Let’s push the old man to the door. Players leave Arsenal not because of money but because Arsenal will obviously amount to nothing as long as Wenger is at the helm.

    Wenger out. Now.

  8. Frankie Coffeecakes

It’s called A Little Is Enough, Shaun. Throw a piece of shit into the deal and there would still be some who post here who would be thrilled.

Bottom line, you could bring in 10 of the best footballers in the world to play at Arsenal, but as long as you have the worlds worst manager managing them ( see Wenger), they’d all be lost and hopeless before long (see Arsenal Football Club).

    Wenger Out!

  9. HighburyLegend

“The problem now for the Wenger obsessives is that it feels like the tide is turning back in Wengers favour and the obsessives are not sure what to do.”

I must admit Pierre’s got a point here lol

  10. Bamford10

    Barking Arsene

“What boggles the mind is why Wenger/the club didn’t sell Sanchez for 60m in the summer …”

Because Wenger thought he could persuade Sanchez to stay, and because he knew he needed Sanchez to finish top four.

He failed on both fronts, of course.

As I’ve said before, for Wenger it is always still the early 2000’s and Arsenal are always still the apple of the footballing world’s eye. He has no idea that he is a bit of a joke and that Arsenal are no longer held in all that high of regard, something that is entirely his fault.

  11. Rambo Ramsey

Seeing Pierre’s attempts at trolling bring a sad smile to my face. He’s been at it for months but still as shit as ever, the poor grown ass man.

  12. Emiratesstroller

    Pierre

Sorry but Wenger does have to go if Arsenal is going to make genuine progress.

Leave aside his failings in transfer market and concentrate on how the team is
    playing.

A decent well drilled team would not have conceded as many goals as we have
done this season nor lost games/points in the fashion we have done. That is down to the structure of team, how it is prioritised and calibre of players recruited.

You can have the best front line in the world and some would argue that Arsenal did have the best one in EPL this season, but that will not win you a title if
the rest of the team is neglected and crap.

  13. Bamford10

Nothing is turning in Wenger’s favor. The new football brains are working to make the best of the bad situation Wenger has created through his incompetence and obliviousness.

We’re in sixth place and we’ll likely finish there. There is little to no chance we win the league cup. The one remaining chance we have is Europa League. Perhaps Aubameyang can help us win that, though we really could use a CDM, so hopefully Mslintat is on the case.

  14. Pierre

    RR
is there anything in my Comment that is false.. Just giving my perspective on it and yes it does make me smile and wonder how Wenger manages to just about keep his head above water.
It won’t last though, if he was a cat he would have used up 8 of his 9 lives… This could be his last desperate attempt to go out with all guns blazing…

  15. Bamford10

    Emirates

It’s also not enough simply to have a number of good attacking players at your disposal. You have to play them in the right positions and give them a coherent, rational system to play within. Wenger is incapable of this.

  16. graham62

    Pierre

Good morning. Your favourite “Wenger obsessive” is on your case, YET AGAIN!

You seem to be the one that’s obsessed………..in writing so much crap all the time.

    Ref to your 09:33 post…………………………………..LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a clot you are. I know you write garbage to wind us up, so what’s the point in even responding to your unbelievably stupid comments.

    Actually, there isn’t.

    Have a nice day

I know hundreds of Arsenal fans and 99% are happy for Wenger to go ,not one will say that he deserves to stay.

    hmmmmmmmmm Pierre flip flopping again.

  18. Bamford10

We need some young, promising midfielders. A CAM, a couple of box to box CMs, and a young CDM to understudy the new starting CDM we need. Let’s rejuvenate this club with some young blood.

And get Wenger the fuck out already. The man should have been gone years ago.

  19. graham62

    Le Grove

@Pierre is officially now known as the OBSESSED WITH THE ANTI-WENGER OBSESSIVES CLOWN!

What will he come up with next?

  20. Bamford10

    Redtruth

I am of the view that Wenger may leave this summer. It would be nice to have some decent players in the squad for the next manager, no? Yes, it would. Same is true if Wenger — God forbid — holds on for another year.

  21. Samesong

    PierreJanuary 15, 2018 10:24:34

Wenger should not have been given a new contract. Any idiot could see that unless we were top of the league or thereabouts then the roof will cave in as soon as things started to go tits up…surely there are some people higher up within the club who must have voiced concerns at giving Wenger a new deal and the problems that would occur if we don’t deliver on the pitch.

    Another Pierre special.

  22. Pierre

“Sorry but Wenger does have to go if Arsenal is going to make genuine progress.”

Of course he does, I know that but I can and will be happy when something positive happens within the club regarding signings or getting to another final unlike the obsessives…. And I don’t regard you as one of them… Arsenal is part of your life as is mine.. It was an important part of my childhood, lots of special moments that a lot of people don’t really understand.
You know as well as I that over the years arsenal’s football has been pretty drab and boring but if the club is in your blood you stick with them through thick and thin.

  23. Dan

Oh what a refreshing article, yet another original Wenger slag-off job from a so called Arsenal ‘fan’, mixed in with a bit of fake positivity of course (just to get the balance right whilst the knife goes in). Get a fucking life mate. And all your demented fan boys licking your arse in the comments. When Wenger goes how long before the boot is stuck in to the new manager so you can get your daily clicks. Pathetic. Along with all the rest of the Arsenal hating media. You don’t hear this level of disloyal crap from even Spud fans or anyone else really. I’m sure you really liked Henry and Bergkamp once upon a time…when it was sooo easy supporting the club eh. You shouldn’t even pretend to call yourself an Arsenal supporter but you will because of your smugness and arrogance. BTW I’m not a Wenger fan either, but I do have some respect for Arsenal and how it’s portrayed. I think there are also a lot of real Gooners that have respect for the club as well, just don’t spew off after every defeat on social media etc. Maybe because we don’t make a half a living slagging the club off. Nice little monetised site though well done to you.

  24. Frankie Coffeecakes

@Graham … I prefer King of Kontradiction to describe Pierre. Then again, Hypocrite suffices just as well. Pierre considers both a compliment.

  25. TitsMcGee

It is near on impossible to manage a club as bad as Wenger has, these are Sepp Blatter levels of arrogance”

Complete incompetence. Yet he thinks he’s some savant.

The most dangerous person is someone who doesn’t know but doesn’t know that they don’t know.

  26. Bamford10

    Pierre

Why would Wenger managing to survive make you “smile”? He does so at the expense of the club. We are in sixth place and are a dysfunctional joke because of Wenger. How could this possibly bring a smile to your face?

  27. Bamford10

Wait, Dan, you’re not a fan of Wenger’s, but you take issue with Pedro and others criticizing Wenger? Sorry, but that makes no sense to me. Can you explain the logic of that?

“No point in splashing the cash just
to regress back into the top 4..”

I thought I won’t come across this gibberish after countering it in the previous post

you praise Liverpool for splashing 75m on a defender,Man United for throwing 80m on ‘donkey’ Lukaku,Chelsea as well for Morata,Bakayoko..etc but when Arsenal do the same on Auba and Mikki, you label it an attempt to”regress in top4″,pretty dumb

At least the club is making attempts to move up the table, why show support instead of moaning all day on Legrove, puzzling

Defensively we have been worse than ever this season and just lately individual errors have compounded that.

Čech v Bournemouth and the offside line in the forest game for their first goal were schoolboy errors.

But generally our defence has been put under more pressure than normal because of our midfield and attack continually losing possession which is unusual for us, plus injuries to monreal and kosielny haven’t helped as the back up is not strong enough.

Hopefully, the new signings will improve our ball retention and make us more potent going forward..

  36. Guns of Hackney

LOL. Showing a “greatest hit album” that is a few years old. Just because the Rolling Stones are still going doesn’t mean that they’ve actually done anything worthwhile since the 1970’s.

    Here’s the takedown.

    1. We lose our top scorer, one of the top providers, one of the hardest workers and one of the most talented players in the league for a overweight Armenian. (Which by the way still hasn’t happened).

    2. We get another self absorbed, selfie taking wannabe rapper on the payroll. We already have a few of those and lost a few over that last year or so.

I can’t see a fatty and a phatty shooting is to the Europa League. And anyway, do we want to actually win it if it meant Wenger stays for another 1,000 years? No way.

  49. N5

I’ve not been paying any attention at all to the transfer window until the last couple of days and I’ve just thought how yet another window has been dominated with a player outgoing rather than the possible incomings!

Arsenal are so fucking incompitant it’s unreal. Other clubs get excited about transfer windows and Arsenal just can’t wait for them to be over hoping we’ve managed to hold onto (insert name here) kicking and screaming.

Even Brighton managed to break there transfer record this window and yet here Arsenal are once again selling players and no new people coming in.

Don’t see anything wrong with what Pierre said? As there are quite a few on here who are truly obsessed with the Dude. (as in really!!)

Its like that lyric from Eminem on “The way I am” where he says; “But I can’t take a shit in the bathroom without somebody standing by it!” Sometimes it gets nauseating. But it is what it is i guess.

Like you see statements like – Worst Manager in the world!? blah blah blah!! A Narcissist, Manipulator, Politician so and so footie Manager, Hell yeah!! But worst Manager in the world? Really Dude?

I mean come on, Arsenal are in a mess, but sometimes we make it out as if we are the worst run football club out there, which frankly is far from the truth, just that supporters adopt this “Woe is me!!”, “The Sky is falling all around us!!” mentality.

Its obvious (to those that choose to see it) that Arsene is on the final stretch of his reign and change is afloat. Yes I admit we have no idea how that change will look like especially as concerns him either being moved upstairs, or just cutting ties with the club totally.

If folks know or believe that even if we sign 11 Messis that Wenger will still fcuk it up, then I don’t get the need for people to keep saying/hering it over and over again (who are you really trying to convince? Or are you not convinced yourself, whereby by constantly repeating it you convince yourself?)

The question now becomes, if you believe that then it shouldn’t bother you whether the club sign someone or not (we have money, so these signings will not affect any other business we do in the summer)

Its like the – “We definitely won’t win this and that Cup” why is that a concern now? when we win those trophies they are not held in high regards by some? So what difference does it make? (Or do folks think Stan K will be appeased by us winning the Coroba Cup or whatever its called, or the Europa?

My belief has always been that this contract will be the last for Arsene and the club are transitioning into a new era and nothing being seen has made me change my mind so far on that.

So as far as I am concerned, bring on whatever, if so and so player goes, good luck to them, if someone good comes in then I will give that player the benefit of doubt and actually wait to see he plays in our colours before making comments on them (as to if they were shyte or not). Same thing for games, we play well – Whoppie – we play shyte – Will give my criticisms.

All in all, this will/should soon end (Wenger’s era) so we can finally get to another phase in our club’s history.

Good luck to you, Sanchez. Sincerely hope you break a leg and your career tails off. I had a lot of respect for this player but the way he’s performed this season has left nothing but contempt in me.

    https://exarsenal.wordpress.com/ode-to-the-fans/

Just on the swap deal, So we turned down 60mil just six months ago only to keep an unsettled player and then basically give him away for a player that can’t even make the United bench… I must be missing something here because that is not what I would describe as a great deal’
And those making the comparison with De Bruyne, Sala etc as to others players Mourinho didn’t fancy. There’s one common denominator that they shared and Mkhitaryan doesn’t… They weren’t 29 years old, they were still starting out in their football career and not coming to an end of one.
I don’t doubt that he doesn’t have the talent to still be relevant, I am just done with the blatant misleading account that we somehow got the better deal.

  57. Bamford10

We are in fact one of the worst-run clubs in the world. And we are definitely the worst-managed “top” club in the world. No question about that.

I love the idea that there are things other than Wenger that the Arsenal fan or observer should be focusing on. Huh? Like what? The man has had all of the power and made all of the decisions for some twenty years now. What are these other things one should be discussing? Fucking stupid.

. “We ARE NOT offering empty headed love and support to Wenger or any one player for all eternity.”

Neither am I….. Özil is the one player I backed at the beginning of the season and was slated for it and he has proved me right..

I have also said that giroud and Ramsey are the 2 players who I feel have stopped the club progressing the last 3 years. They are not good enough for a team that is supposed to be challenging at the top end but Wenger has continually put his faith in them….

I have and will criticise Wengers transfer and contract dealings but if arsenal win another trophy then of course, give credit where it’s due as it is not easy to win any trophy.. City have only won one league cup in 3 years despite spending fortunes and Liverpool and spurs… Nothing

Can’t remember anyone saying we got the better deal but in the circumstances the window may turn out better than anyone thought possible, especially if özil signs.

“We are in fact one of the worst-run clubs in the world. And we are definitely the worst-managed “top” club in the world. No question about that.”

Yet you seek out players for one of the worst run clubs in the world…makes sense.

  64. Bamford10

    Leeds

That’s what it sounds like. Giroud to BVB. Lacazette to become back-up to Aubameyang — one of the most expensive back-ups in football history.

  65. graham62

    Victorious

Have you ever considered that close proximity to the Emirates has nothing to do with what supporters do to show their allegiance to the club.

Infact, for those who truly value the club, it must be hell to live so close to the stadium.

You make me smile with your slightly immature and naive assumptions and statements.

    However, each to his own.

  66. Bamford10

    Redtruth

I have already explained that. Try to keep up. No point in being poorly managed AND having terrible players.

  67. loyika

    @ Bamford

Even 10 years after Wenger is gone you all will still be talking about him.

So come to think of it, carry on!!

Although I do agree in the worst Manager among the top clubs bit (in some aspects) and i said “Top Clubs” please, so there will be no adding of teams like Spurs in that list. (Lol)

Save your deluded gibberish for Untold and take N5 with you.

    ………………………………………………………………………….
Anyone taken in by this clown can join them..

  69. N5

“Stevie, take your class and stick it up your butthole.”

I’m almost certain Steve has wished death on Wenger more than once. Does class only have to be applied to outgoing players Steve?

“Infact, for those who truly value

erhmmm how is that?Illuminate me,sure you are a fountain of knowledge

  71. N5

“Save your deluded gibberish for Untold and take N5 with you”

Now that is no way to talk to your eye twin!! Also I’m not allowed on Untold, I was too cool for them! 😀

  72. jasongms

    Pierre

Is anything than a great deal at this stage though, wouldn’t you agree?

I would describe it as a stupifying amateurish one, that should highlight how far Arsene has declined in analysis and decision making.

  73. mysticleaves

“Serious questions need to be asked of Wenger. Turns down £50+ million in August for Sanchez, gets nothing from him on the pitch for 5 months then swaps him for a bit player & strengthens a direct rival where City aren’t a rival. Strange call.” – @Monroe2angeline”

People need to Let sanchez go. I stand by what Wenger did in the summer. Man city flirted all summer about how they needed Sanchez and Arsene had always gone on about how they weren’t gonna sell Sanchez.

You would expect Man city to bid around middle of August but they had to wait till deadline day? And people have the audacity to say Wenger should have accepted? There was frankly no time to find a replacement. And at that time he still believed he could get Sanchez to sign or atleast qualify us for top4, which shouldn’t have been a bad thing to hope for as a manager.

  74. N5

Truth doesn’t live near the ground. I started that joke years back saying he lived down the Tottenham end of Seven Sisters. I’m surprised Pedro ran with that 😀

Truth is a 70 year old man who lives in a home (think Cuckoo Nest), Half the time he’s covered in his own urine, the other half he’s talking about Maradonna and an orange for some reason.

  75. N5

“No.point in getting exciting talent and still being stuck in 1st gear either …clown”

Agreed (not the clown bit). It’s worthless getting any talent in with Wonga at the helm. He’ll probably use Aubameyang as a ball boy and have Mkhitaryan clean the loo.

  76. victorious

    Save your deluded gibberish for
    Untold and take N5 with

Redlie just ruining the comment section with his incessant brickering

there is no harm in been positive to a club you ‘genuinely’ support, try it red,if you have a club and see how refreshing it is

  77. Bamford10

    Loyika

Actually we won’t be. We will have moved on. The only thing that will prompt anyone here to discuss Wenger ten years from now is if some dipshit shows up to try to defend his legacy, argue for his greatness, etc.

What’s actually going to happen is that when we move on to new managers, your ilk will try to use the difficulties they encounter to rationalize Wenger’s mismanagement. You lot will become manager-critics. We’ll run circles around you then, though, too.

    Cheers.

  78. graham62

WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO FOCUS ON OTHER THAN ENSURING THAT WENGER IS FORCED OUT OF THE CLUB?

    NOTHING!!

Those that feel otherwise, PLEASE TELL!

  79. Pierre

    Bamford
Play a similar system as Liverpool..

They had Coutinho, firmino, salah and Mane…
    2 holding mid and a back 4.

Özil (Coutinho) Aubameyang (firmino) lacazette (salah) mkhitarayan (Mane)

    They can be interchangeable…

Who plays wide is probably the question but arsenal have never played with out and out wingers under wenger… Maybe overmars but other than that we have had
    Parlour
    Łindberg
    Wiltord
    Pires
    Hleb
    Nasri
    Iwobi
    Sanchez
None of those you would call natural wide men.

  80. Rambo Ramsey

Lads, Wenger has just revealed his genius management art.

Asked how he could fit Mkhitaryan and Ozil into the same team, Wenger explained: “Just play the good players! They can always play together.”

    Wengerball explained!

  81. Bamford10

We’re in sixth place and going nowhere football-wise, but Wenger says Alexis left only for money. Just like RVP, Arsene?

Fuck off, you shameless, dishonest, arrogant, old dickhead.

  82. mysticleaves

“We are in fact one of the worst-run clubs in the world. And we are definitely the worst-managed “top” club in the world. No question about that.”

Some questions though, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Liverpool. All top clubs throughout history.

I agree though, we are one of the worst managed top clubs

  83. victorious

Wenger prefers midfielders who could do a good job on the wings,I won’t be surprise to see Mikki takes the right wing spot…something like……

Mikki.. Auba…Lacazette? with Ozil just behind

  84. Bamford10

    Rambo

Perfect Wenger quote. Just put them all out there. In a jumbled mess. Positions? Who needs positions? Tactics? An approach to attacking play? Who needs such things? Throw the players out there and let them figure it out!

  85. Pierre

    Jasongms
I have never denied that Wenger has lost the ability to build a team to win the league.. His transfer dealings have been poor and he stays loyal to average players for too long.. Ramsey, giroud and Walcott should have been offloaded a couple of years ago…

  86. N5

“Schoolboy error N5 thinking Ian Wright played in the 1994 Cup Winners Cup Final….”

Ha ha, You do make me smile Truth. (That is genuine not sarcasm).

  87. graham62

If I lived next door to the Emirates I would be only be happy because property value, around the area, is high and it would be a fantastic investment.

As far as being a supporter, I would hate it.

The day Wenger leaves, the bunting would be out and I’d have my own street party.

You do understand that not going to games/not investing in the club, represents supporters ways of doing their bit.

You still don’t get it do you?

  88. Bamford10

    Pierre, Victorious

Except that I personally don’t see Lacazette being an effective wide player. Nor do I think Aubameyang would be effective wide. For me, one of them will have to be on the bench — and that’s Lacazette for me.

  89. raptora

    Rambo Ramsey,
Asked how he could fit Mkhitaryan and Ozil into the same team, Wenger explained: “Just play the good players! They can always play together.”

I laughed hard at that as well. One would actually think he has … a …. plan… … ….. nope…

  90. N5

“Mikki.. Auba…Lacazette? with Ozil just behind”

I’d be surprised to see Ozil moved in from the right now. So I’d imagine Mikki to the left, Ozil to the right and Laca/Auba in a two upfront with Auba possibly just behind Laca?
I’m not certain it works to be honest.

  91. Redtruth

“Asked how he could fit Mkhitaryan and Ozil into the same team, Wenger explained: “Just play the good players! They can always play together.”

It’s worked in the past (domestically) it’s just the players are now not good enough…..

  92. Bamford10

Nabil Fekir’s last five Ligue 1 appearances—

    vs Marseille (goal, MOTM)
    vs Toulouse (goal, MOTM)
    vs Angers (goal, MOTM)
    vs Guingamp (goal, MOTM)
    vs PSG (goal, assist, MOTM)

This is who we should be signing. Get on it, Sven and co.!

  93. loyika

    @ Graham

I think Pedro meant that Red didn’t even come out to get involved in the protest (at least hold up a “Wenger Out” sign)

That was where the, “he lives close to the Stadia” bit came from, in that he wouldn’t need to travel to go and join in (as many used that as a reason they couldn’t join in)

  94. Jamie

Let’s get it right. Auba cannot be registered to play for Arsenal in the Europa League, so he won’t be helping us ‘win’ the competition.

p.s. writing that last part about winning the EL made me chuckle.
