Good morning to yah!

Totally forgot to publish the podcast that we dropped yesterday, make sure you tune in. We cover Wenger’s situation, the shoddy decisions that are going on behind the scenes, and transfer gossip. It’s a good one, and we have Kurtis Power from the NYC Supporters club, a group that was founded the same year as Le Grove. Please subscribe and give us a 5* rating.

NEWS wise, Arsenal are baiting City and United for Alexis. The story is that we want one of Martial or Mikki, so United are the faves. There are all sorts of trouble making counterpoints flying around. Some noise that Mikki wants better money and we’re not offering that. Some say Mikki is wanted by Sven, others say Wenger wants the Frenchman. A CLASH IS BREWING.

I’m easy either way because I think both players could offer value.

Mikki has been snubbed, no, humiliated by Jose. The Armenian boasts pace, incredible work rate and at his best, goals and assists. Being pied after a big transfer deal leaves you with a burning desire to impress more than anything. Wenger at his best was great at finding players with a point to prove. Only drawback is his age, which is 28. Still young, but, you know.

Martial on the other is a 1995er. He’ll know first hand about the dark days of Arsenal, rumoured he turned in his season ticket after Paris, so he’ll get the culture of the club. Not just that, he’s super young, just a baby. He was the most expensive teenager of all time, he’s been managed under a group of disciplinarians (which is good), and basically, the world is his lobster. He has so much to give. Is Wenger the one to rejuvenate him? No. But look, he’ll give him a fuck load of game time and the player is young enough to see in the new manager in 18months time. Has it in him to be a £100m player.

Who would I pick? Really couldn’t care less. Both would be additive to the side, both would make Arsenal more interesting to watch. That’s how low I’ve sunk. Mikki would be great for now impact, and if we’re signing Auba, they’d click. Martial would be great to swell the youth ranks and could be absolute talent moving forward under a proper manager.

Couple of people said they felt robbed by post title this morning because I didn’t put a date down for Wenger’s departure. The inside line is he’s not going anywhere as it stands. He’s still within spitting distance of 4th, he could still make it, if he puts up even a brave fight, there’s no way Stan is bombing him off before his goodbye year. That’s the inside track. So put your Ancelotti stories in the same bin as your tear sodden Kleenex.

Things could change, don’t get me wrong, nothing is defacto in sport. But people at the club are mostly resigned to the only way the manager leaving being if he resigns, or…

A clash with Sven…

A clash with the fans…

Health…

Nothing else is getting between him, power and money.

There are also a bunch of rumours suggesting Sven M’s big new signing is going to be Malcolm of Bordeaux. The Brazilian looks exciting in the videos. Powerful, fast, direct, beautiful first touch, with a mixture of assists and goals to boot (Grimantube him here). Rumours are his home club want him loaned back, I’d take that if we land exchange players from United.

The latest on this deal is very AFC, this from Sport Witness.

Therefore, Sud-Ouest state that ‘if Arsenal do come forward, the Gunners will have to be very convincing financially’.

As for Malcom himself, the 20-year-old is ‘seduced’ by all the interest in him, and isn’t hiding it, but he’s also been known to follow his family’s and professional entourage’s counsel, and his performance on Saturday (an assist in a 1-0 win against Troyes away) is proof for the local newspaper the Brazilian still cares about the French club.

What I love about this move is it’s exactly the sort of unknown starlet we used to win with. Aubemayang was that player we missed out on years ago. Others like Kante were also sad French misses. The new guys is bringing decisive action early on in his job, and he’s proactive about the issues the squad has. Whereas the dreadful Steve Rowley most certainly wasn’t.

*Also, cultural faux fuck up. He’s Gabonese, NOT Ghanaian.

My main concern though is the one I’ve had for years, unless it’s location or being a family man, elite talent won’t move to regress under a failing coach. That said, money talks. Real loud in some cases.

The final story is about Aubamayeng. Guillaume Ballague (who once said I had great hair and terrific quads) had this to say.

“One of them they want to close and finalise is Aubameyang.”

“They are willing to pay 60m euros. So they hope Dortmund accepts, and are very optimistic that this could be the case. There are other clubs interested but right now Arsenal is ahead of them, but nothing has been finalised yet.”

I’m still game for this, I don’t care what his haters say. He’s been racking up goals in a league that’s superior to Ligue 1. He’s rapid, he’s good in the air and has a physical presence, and I think he’d be an improvement on Lacazette.

Would I have preferred Timo Werner or Mauro Icardi? For sure, but that’s not happening. I think this sort of move could get us to the end of the season.

Right, that’s me done. Check this mornings match review here. Also, please watch our video. WE DID IT LIVE. x

Haha my browser played a trick on me. I was alone in the comments section. I feel like Wenger right now :)) I was deluded

  2. TitsMcGee

Pedro you know whoever we sign will suffer te same fate as our other recent signings. No structure to how we play so everything is ad-hoc. Recipe for disaster.

  3. JimJam

My only concern over Abumeyang is given his record over the last few seasons is why nobody has taken a punt on him? Besides whoever we sign if they have a good season you can guarantee we will sell them to our rivals for a pittance

  4. Eduardo Dosal Watkins

Wenger, Godziris, Alexis, Ozil, Walcott, Debuchy and Elnany out, bring players like Aubemeyang, Malcolm, Drexler, Mikky, Martial and Merhez

  5. Troy McClure

Kurtis Power is a great name for an 80’s old school rapper. Adidas shell toes, track suit and a huge gold chain for the next pod.

One commenter hit the mark yesterday, in true ‘Murica-ish: Arsenal are group of pussies now. Tepid, mentally weak, lacking in confidence, crumple at the first moment of adversity. We have a squad full of betas.

  6. TR7

Ivan, Bould, Foreshyte and now Sven… Pedro loves hyping Arsenal recruits and concocts all sorts of power struggle gossip. Wenger is the ultimate boss.

  7. Leedsgunner

Wenger spends big on players who are not ready or not good enough.

Because the players are not ready or not good enough the tem performs underwhelmingly in the title race. The problem is compounded by Wenger completely sticking to outdated coaching and fitness methods.

Due to performance of team Wenger panic spends in the transfer market on players who are unready or not good enough. Despite having money to spend he still complains of unfairness.

    Repeat Cycle

  8. GrinningTitan

Let’s face it, we’ve seen this rhetoric play over time and time again. Its like watching a really crappy drama but knowing the ending. Come summer the jolly Frenchman still going strong. Would probably steal 4th or perform some other Wenger miracle and we’d be left with limp weiners

  9. Carts

    Pedro

Cool podcast. What will it take for you to do away with “Mirror maaaaaaaaayn”?

Tell me. Just fucking tell me!

  10. steve

Would I have preferred Timo Werner or Mauro Icardi? For sure, but that’s not happening. I think this sort of move could get us to the end of the season.

Lol so Wenger can get another contract. Hilarious.

    Er, speak for yourself :)

  12. TR7

Looks like as a result of the ego battle of City and United, we might get a decent deal for Alexis.

Regarding Lacazzete discussion on last thread, I have a feeling he will come good if we play with 2 strikers. He is struggling physically, perhaps explains why Wenger takes him off in every game (even Wenger gets a few things right :p). If we sign Auba, who perhaps can handle the physicality of the league better, Lacazzete’s task would get easier.

  13. Marko

If we sign Auba, who perhaps can handle the physicality of the league better,

Almost like we should have signed him instead of Lacazette. Takes 100 million to finally get it right or 100 million to bring out the best in Lacazette. Who knows?

  14. Dream10

    TR7

We have very few runners off the ball and pace in the final third. We’re like a five s side team on a small pitch. Ramsey, Ozil and Bellerin are the only three that can get in behind.

It is shocking that in a squad of close to 30 players, that only four or five have any off the ball quality.

  15. TR7

    Dream

    True!

Wenger’s teams in the past always relied on quick movements – both with the ball and off the ball. In the current team there is no off the ball movement, nobody makes a run. It’s almost like Wenger is undoing everything that got success in the past or worked for Arsenal.

Even among the players you have listed, Bellerin’s movement is very pedestrian, no real thought or strategy behind his runs. Ozil is doing more of that this season and that’s why he has been one of the better players this season.

Xhaka is horribly static and Iwobi /Sanchez are ball hoggers. At least Alexis has some output, I don’t understand how can a manager like Wenger persist with Xhaka and Iwobi. It’s no coincidence we have stopped finishing top 4 since these two guys became regular fixtures in our team.

  16. Pierre

Though I think lacazette’s link up play is good I feel he needs to have a look at how Harry Kane manages to find space in the box.
Kane will wander offside but not get involved in the build up and then the ball is slipped between the full back for a Spurs wide man to run onto and hey presto Kane is standing on his own in the box waiting for a tap in .

Against Bournemouth there were 2 or 3 occasions when we broke their back line out wide but because lacazette had come short trying to get involved in the build up then he wasn’t up with play for the simple square ball into the box.
Even for our goal when bellerin broke free if that had been Spurs ,Kane would have been waiting for a simple tap in but if you look lacazette was trying to catch up with play…

  17. Carlito

That was great last time we sold our star player to United wasn’t it? Let’s do that again. While we’re at it let’s sign another No.10, that will sort us out won’t it?

  18. Gooner63

So the 4 players of which we would need 2

Aubameyang – just cant see Wenger wanting him at all, he causes probelms in the dressing room, parties and fails to turn up for training, misses meetings and so on. Hes about the least likely Wenger player ever.

Miki – so we get a guy who has failed already in the Premier League, Jose hasnt treated him that bad, hes just dropped him because he fails to deliver, do we really want another walcott.

Martial – rather have him, he never really gets a good enough run to really see what he could deliver

Malcom – the kid is direct, lightening fast, can cross and shoot – for 40m i would be in there like a shot, even if it doesnt come off we would get 30m back, plus the kid wouldnt want super wages

For me bring in Malcom and Martial either side of lacazette and pay big bucks to Ozil to let him feed those 3 and hopefully we can play more direct and not the boring tippy tappy crap

  19. TR7

Another rumor – The deal between Alexis, United and Arsenal is ready…

    €28m + Mkhitaryan for Arsenal

£350k per week and United’s number “7” for Alexis.

Now the only thing preventing the deal is that Mkhitaryan isn’t convinced about joining Arsenal… [Chilean media]

  20. Cesc Appeal

I’m struggling to see how we set up with a balanced side if these rumours come off, unless Ozil is going as well or Lacazette faces a spell of ‘rest’ (benched).

  21. Cesc Appeal

Any sort of 3-5-2 does not work for us purely because we do not have a good and mobile CDM.

City have Fernandinho, Chelsea have Kante but even they have struggled with losing Matic.

If a two up top style is what we are going for then we need, absolutely need, a CDM this window who is strong and mobile and steady enough in possession. Xhaka will not cut it in that role.

  22. TitsMcGee

Now the only thing preventing the deal is that Mkhitaryan isn’t convinced about joining Arsenal… ”

    We are a sinking ship.

  23. Bay Area Gooner

I don’t believe the chilean media. How the heck do they have the inside scoop on Miki? Didnt he want to join us over Man U at one point? That we were his preferred destination until we dithered as usual?

He and Auba will be reunited. A good link there. I actually think AUBA can give us just as much or more than AS did.

I agree with Pedro. He is fast, tall, good at finishing and a proven scorer. He is strong, and will offer someone we can actually make crosses in the box to.

Im dissapointed that it appears Wenger is staying. Not sure what it will take for him to leave. Its like the club is being bullied and held hostage by him.

We have the money to buy him out and fuck off.
Its a matter of Ivan and the Board convincing Stan to remove him.. If Carlo is a replacement, then im hopeful that Stan would be good on it.

Its all about$$$$$ . Carlo will generate more money. Stan is happy

  24. Bay Area Gooner

Wenger cunt said 48 hours for AS. Well one more day to go. I hope its Man U and we get something in return. We need it!

Martial would be great. However, I see Mikki being more useful right now. With AUba up front, Mikki would offer a good link, and with Laca always playing with his back toward goal, can give passes to Mikki or Auba getting into the box.

All in all, i am in favor for Man u move for AS

  25. Leftsidesanch

All these cogs being put in place is good, but the biggest piece of work should be on Ivan trying to convince Stan that with Wenger at the helm we are moving further backwards and coming to an agreement with him this Summer to step Wenger down.

We are a football club, we shouldn’t be at the clutches of a man as he scared of life after retirement. That’s Wenger’s issue, and millions of fans worldwide shouldn’t have to suffer in order to appease Wenger. He’s not the club, there has been fans before him and there will be fans after he is gone.

  26. Carlito

Wenger won’t ever be sacked for footballing reasons. Only his financial mismanagement could cost him his job. This deal is about Wenger saving his skin because he fucked up by letting Sanchez run his contract down.

  27. Bay Area Gooner

I doubt that Man U will give up Martial. Might end up being like Sterling. We end up paying for the player and giving up AS

  28. Gooner63

Waiting for a sudden twist where Alexis goes to City and we do a cash n player swap and end up with Mangala – that would just about seal this season as a joke

  29. Marko

Now the only thing preventing the deal is that Mkhitaryan isn’t convinced about joining Arsenal… [Chilean media]

Pretty bad that someone warming the bench at United and someone totally ostracized by the manager isn’t convinced about joining Arsenal. Things are pretty bleak when you think about it.

CA I agree I’m not hearing about any links on the defensive side of things bar Johnny fucking Evans. The most important thing that this club can do outside of a new manager is address the problem in defence and midfield. Fuck 45 million for Malcom the only Brazilian I want signed is Fabinho. 39 goals conceded this season and 60+ last season that area cannot continue to be ignored

  30. Gooner63

All these top players being banded about – we arent getting them

Why would any come to us – no CL, and twat of a manager and average wages

Better off taking a punt on the younger ones ie Malcom than those who now look past their best ie Miki

  31. Dream10

    Bay Area Gooner

It would be stupid business from Utd to swap Martial now when they can sell him for 50-60m in the summer. They’ll get serious money for him in July. Not convinced that he will be a top player, especially with us. He seems to have mental fragility and is somewhat passive. He’ll robably end up at Juventus or PSG.

  32. Marko

Not convinced that he will be a top player, especially with us. He seems to have mental fragility and is somewhat passive. He’ll robably end up at Juventus or PSG.

No offense but that’s ridiculous. You’re not convinced that he’s a top player but he’ll end up at one of the two best football teams in Europe? With the other non top players at Juve and PSG. Neymar, Mbappe, Higuain and Dybala?

  33. Dream10

    Marko

He’s has some great skills in some areas, but deficient in others. I think we have players in our side with less talent that have the same deficiencies, so little chance he overcomes the hurdles that I think that are holding him back. Other top teams will take a risk on him as they will see his potential.

  34. Paddy got bored

Can’t stand all these so called experts mocking Johnny Evans. Bloke is an experienced centre back, organises and scored goals!!
All what we have needed for years. Forget the so called elite were a shit show so need good honest players like Evans who will give it all..

Painfully average + no defensive system = what exactly? Will he be drawing up the D tactics ? Get real.

An average player added to a squad that is collectively average with no strategy. No thanks.

You’ll get your wish but I promise you nothing will come of it.

  36. Bamford10

    1. Nothing we do in the window matters all that much as long as Wenger stays. He is an utter disaster and nothing will improve as long as he is still calling the shots.

    2. Martial is a much better player than Mkhitaryan, and as long as we have Ozil, I’m not sure what good Mkhitaryan would be. Not to mention that he has been pretty poor for United.

    3. If we’re actually after Aubameyang, then signing Lacazette for 50m this summer made no sense whatsoever. And no, they don’t make sense together in a front two or three.

    4. I have no issue with Johnny Evans; he seems solid, reliable, no-nonsense. If Koscielny is shot, Evans might be a necessity. We have other CBs, but none of them has looked very good in the position, frankly. We need an experienced leader.

  37. Bamford10

By the way, I loved Don defending his idol Wenger from charges that he doesn’t organize or instruct his players very well on the defensive side of things. “The players deserve blame too!” Don shouts. Sorry, but it’s the manager’s role to both instruct and motivate his players. If Arsenal players defend like schoolboys, it’s because they’ve never had a proper master. Wenger doesn’t instruct; he tosses a ball out, lets them play 5 v 5 and repeats his favorite mantra: “the game is the greatest instructor”.

Wenger is an utter failure, and he must go ASAP.

  38. arsene's used sock

    we’re so fucking shit m8
can’t get excited for anything arsenal related at all.
we could sign messi and I would still be unenthused with the utter tripe on display at the club.

    You are contradicting yourself.

  40. Cesc Appeal

It is rumoured that Wenger does not want Aubameyang but Mislintat does, bring on Aubameyang in that case, get the old ego out.

Tread all over his authority, let us see how deep that shamelessness runs.

  41. Marko

Completely disagree that we need someone like Evans and he’d be a good signing. He’d only be a good signing for us because what we have is honestly so bang average. He’s 30 years of age and plays for a West Brom side that ships goals on the regular. It’s not like he’s Michael Keane at a mean Burnley side. Much like last summer and previous transfer Windows where we’ve been linked with players like Evans, Kjaar and Loic Perrin those types of targets suggest to me that we either don’t really care about addressing the problems in defence or that we don’t know how. They are all underwhelming short term and not what we need in the slightest. Either properly address the situation or continue fucking up another season after another season. You know who would be able to address the defence? Carlo or Jardim. You know who hasn’t or decides not to? Wenger

  42. Marko

It is rumoured that Wenger does not want Aubameyang but Mislintat does

What is actually wrong with him? He didn’t want Perez either seemingly doesn’t want Lacazette with the amount of times he subs him. Does he only favour a striker with no pace (Giroud) or no natural ability to score consistently (Welbeck) these days? He’s fucking losing it big time

  43. Cesc Appeal

    Marko

He just does not like buying.

First, it highlights how poor he is as manager now, players regress under him.

    Second, buying brings expectancy.

    Third, it destroys his excuses.

Fourth, it destroys his favourite card to play with Kroenke.

  44. Jamie

Martial starting for Utd. Literally zero chance of a swap deal with Alexis. Mikki seems far more likely.

It’s all paper talk at the moment, but I read it was Mikki + 25m for Alexis. Seems like a pretty good deal, all things considered. Certainly better than 35m with no player in exchange. If Wally leaves too for 20m, that’s almost the Auba money right there.

Throw Malcom into the mix, and it’s been a decent window, although all optimism quickly evaporates with Wenger still at the helm.

Martial > Mikki for the, though.

ps Watching the youth game against Utd. Far more entertaining than the seniors.

  45. Marko

Yeah but if Sven wants Aubameyang but Wenger doesn’t wouldn’t that suggest that money isn’t the issue and obviously maybe Ivan gave the go ahead. Wouldn’t you know Wenger is dithering again. He’s unsure if a striker who’s scored 30+ goals the last three seasons and 21 goals so far this he’s unsure he needs to scout him further. Could have signed him for peanuts when he was at St Etienne ffs. The old man’s scared shitless of spending has been for years. Unheard of really a manager scared of spending money and bringing in players that could make his job easier. The extra expectation and pressure for success is what scares him

  46. Cesc Appeal

    Wenger is all about self-preservation.

Once you are with that then every single one of his decisions make sense.

  47. David Smith

Of Sven wants this player, let’s hope we can get him, it may even help rid the club of this disgusting parasite that infests it with his little arrangement with KSE

  48. Cesc Appeal

We should have gone for Aubameyang a long time ago, I would have taken him over Lacazette.

It might be this is a flash point as it might serve to show Mislintat not just getting his way over Wenger but rubbishing a Wenger decision in terms of his choice of ST.

Aubameyang will genuinely scare EPL defences.

  49. kc

Doesn’t matter anymore what new players(if any) we bring aboard. Until Wenger goes, nothing changes. Here’s hoping Arsenal lose every single game they have left this season. Anything to get rid of le senile. This club is a joke.

  50. DaleDaGooner

So looks like Mikky is on his way out….but, doesn’t look like he fancies us, who would…..either way, Man U getting the better deal overalL, Sanchez is an upgrade on Mikhi and Mikhi will reluctantly come to us or else where. Auba is coming in, but Wenger is iffy cause he’s got a supposed bad attitude….looks like a mismanagement crisis about to happen if Auba comes in…all in all, we are not in great shape

  51. HillWood

Players in, players out don’t matter

The Only thing that does matter is getting that useless cunt out of the club

  52. Cesc Appeal

Looking forward to the old egotistical f**k playing Aubameyang in CAM or LM or something just so he can show that he is throwing all his toys out the pram.

We all know he will finally put him in at ST when self-preservation kicks in.

Fingers crossed this is the beginning of the end for him, someone else getting their way over his way, at f*****g last.

  53. DaleDaGooner

Martial for Sanchez better deal, but no chance Jose lets Martial come to us…I’d take Mikhi….not enough goals or confidence, but our chief scout can make it happen, the Dortmund connection….Wenger needs to pull his head out and let the Auba deal go through, we need him! Auba, Mikhi and Malcolm should be fresh, problem is we still have a defensive coaching issue with Wenger still in charge

  54. Ishola70

He is dubbed “Enfant Terrible” is Auba for his behaviour towards Dortmund.

I don’t really believe all this stuff about him joining Arsenal and all this talk of a rift between Wenger and Misinlat or whatever he is called in whether he should be signed. Seems like comic book stuff to me.

Much more likely is the club feel that they will not spend another big sum on a striker after the Lacazette signing. You know how they roll.

No real German press confirming the move. They are just parroting the English press.

And what do you want Auba to do if he is signed? Come in and rescue the season and get top four for the team. Wenger will be lauded again for turning it around and all it would mean is more Wenger. More of Wenger at the club.

I doubt Auba on his own could really rescue this team anyhow.

As it stands atm Wenger is being painted the villain if he doesn’t sign because the new guy has links with Dortmund and wants him signed. Looks like lazy journalism to me or the usual nonsense talk on twitter.

  55. DaleDaGooner

How is it we don’t get opportunities like the ones Martial got? Oh yeah, we have cunts as midfielders, Ozil included….slow build up play

  56. Ishola70

    Bamford10:
“What a fucking goal from Martial. Fantastic strike.”

Yeeaah. Looking forward to seeing him playing in the Arsenal colours.

  57. DaleDaGooner

Even with Arsenal linked to Aubameyang and Malcom, I won’t be worried until Wenger or their board goes. They need bigger changes than just players.

    — TottenhamTweets

    LOL….we know

  58. Cesc Appeal

‘Even with Arsenal linked to Aubameyang and Malcom, I won’t be worried until Wenger or their board goes. They need bigger changes than just players.’

Head in hands stuff, other fans making comments like this.

  59. Pedro

CA, few of my friends reckon he’s poor technically… and that’s why he’s not made a big move yet.

    What do you think?

  60. Ishola70

Mind you if Auba isn’t signed which seems likely to me but fans blame Wenger for not signing him and the team inevitably finish 6th or lower Wenger is going to get absolute pelters. Lacazette is going to have a nightmare time as well now with every touch/chance he has doubly scrutinised if Auba fails to arrive.

I don’t usually like to see individuals beaten with bats with what I see as crap journalism but in Wenger’s case we will make an exception lol

  61. Cesc Appeal

    Pedro

    Aubameyang?

In terms of hold up etc I can probably see it.

But goodness me he is a weapon, scary speed, clinical, good in the air, strong. His stats speak for themselves though.

No doubt more well rounded players out their at ST, but Aubameyang is dangerous with a capital ‘what the f**k was that?’

The set up needs to be right, which is a worry, because the same arguments can be made for Xhaka and Ozil and that has not happened, as long as the egotistical pig is here that is not likely to change.

But I think Aubameyang will be an improvement over Lacazette, would have chosen him over Lacazette in the summer. Really does make that £50 Million seem totally wasted if this does go through.

With that and the money we are reportedly willing to spend on Malcom you could have got a top rate CDM as well and looked far better.

  62. Jamie

I would much rather the kids played until the end of the season. Total squad rebuild is necessary, so why not sell most of our senior squad and start Project Youth 2.0? Bank all the cash and leave it for the next manager in 2-5 years.

We have a bunch of talent in the under 23s. That was a great game of football.

  63. Jamie

    Don –

Honest question, if your world views make you the subject of a temporary ban from a football forum, wouldn’t it be sensible to self-reflect and adapt your behavior when you’re invited back into the fold rather than wonder why a permanent ban wouldn’t be more apt?

  64. DaleDaGooner

Is Chelsea really snifing around too? LOL, looks like it’s more than transfer deals, it’s gang up time…Chelsea doesn’t have much to offer….I’d take Mkhitaryan and 35m over whatever Cheslea has to offer, Unless Chelsea wants to offer us the 60 large we would have gotten in the summer.

  65. Jim Lahey

Mkhitaryan to replace Ozil and Aubameyang to replace Sanchez??

    Aubameyang —- Lacazette

    —–=— Mkhitaryan ——-

I have always wondered if Ozil and Mkhitaryan would play in the same team given that one is a Turk and the other Armenian…

  66. Jamie

35 million + Mikki would be fairly great business, imo. Alexis if free to negotiate with anyone for his move in 4 months. Puts the value of the deal at around 55m.

We really need to mitigate his loss by getting the best deal possible. Cash + player makes sense under the circumstances. The 25m from City would’ve been extremely poor for us.

p.s. Pete, your new coiffure inspired by Peaky Blinders? It’s got a certain Arthur Shelby about it.

  67. Pedro

CA, I wondered why we settled for Lacazette in the summer… has some nice attributes, but he doesn’t have the physical attributes of PEA

  68. Cart

I’m not sure if PRS money comes into this when using music for intros on podcast, but maybe use an instrumenta. You’re better than that, Pedro!

  69. Cart

    Pedro/CA

I think it’s quite obvious why we settled for Lacazette – he was the cheaper option. It’s really that simple.

Like i said before: any sane manager would’ve, at the very least, got rid or Welbeck and/or Walcott to raise the additional fund to get the deal over the line.

  70. TheBayingMob

The final story is about Aubamayeng. Guillaume Ballague (who once said I had great hair and terrific quads) had this to say”

I remember distinctly when PV4 was angling for a move out of the club, Guillaume Baguette was on a Monday night 5live show saying the deal to Real was as good as done, pre contracts signed, etc. … being more in the love with the club then I was gutted … Paddy didn’t move for another year or so, maybe more (memory failing me). Point is, since then anything that fat cunt says is like a turd falling into my drink (although I’m sure you have great quads and hair), he’s just another lying fat cunt with his nose in the trough … I’m not sure how these guys get paid and constant air time just for telling fucking lies all their lives …

  71. Jim Lahey

    @TheBayingMob –

“being more in the love with the club then I was gutted …”

I remember those days all too well! Was heartbreaking thinking PV4 was about to leave!

  72. DaleDaGooner

Now, now, nothing wrong in having a PEA and Laca in the team, consider that Laca is playing in a dysfunctional team….Sanchez, Ozil and the shit show midfield and goalkeeping we have, add Wenger (no tactics, poor man-management etc.). No doubt about it, Sanchez didn’t give us his all since crashing out of the world cup.

  73. TitsMcGee

I’d take Mkhitaryan and 35m over whatever Cheslea has to offer”

The player in the swap would have to agree to come here if I am not mistaken. If he doesn’t the deal is off.

  74. Jamie

    Marko –

You mean for negotiating with Utd? Alexis is away. He won’t put up anywhere near the numbers he’s put of for us the last few seasons for the next 4 months under Wenger. We need to cut our losses and accept the highest bid.

It’s not as if Utd or City are our direct rivals any more. The only issue, and it’s a big one, is allowing Wenger to touch any of the cash we receive from the sales of Alexis/Wally/Giroud/Perez. I’d bank it and let the next guy splash the lot of a few exciting kids.

  75. Steve

“Like i said before: any sane manager would’ve, at the very least, got rid or Welbeck and/or Walcott to raise the additional fund to get the deal over the line.”

Isn’t that what we are trying to do now – forget Wenger think of Trigger from Only Fools and Horses.

  76. graham62

No player looking at progressing their career would want to come and play for Arsenal, with Wenger around.

SHIT, I DON’T EVEN WANT TO GO TO THE EMIRATES AND WATCH ARSENAL PLAY, WITH WENGER AROUND!!!!

  77. DaleDaGooner

So reports, if believed, are City are walking away not because they can’t match Utd’s offer, but because they feel Sanchez and his agent are cunts…lol….nice, Sanchez wants glory, but he won’t go to this years champions….

  78. Cart

    Pedro

Look at the timelines for more accuracy, first.

We signed Lacazette on the 5th July, a whole 7 weeks before our alleged 11th hour bid for Lemar. Thus, conflating Lemar and Lacazette is wrong.

While Utd were after Morata; and Chelsea were after Lukaku, we Arsenal, were no where to be seen. Eventually, aforementioned striker ended up at opposite teams, lol.

When that dust had settled all that was left was Benzema, Auba & Lacazette, realistically. Who ever was the cheapest was who we were going for, That simple.

Oh and the bullshit about Mbappe…massive lol

  79. Dissenter

There’s talk that Alexis doesn’t care where he lands so long as just leaves Arsenal.
His agent is reported have told the Chelsea negotiators that he’s open so long as he leaves Arsenal

    Wenger is toxic.

  80. Dissenter

This Alexis saga shouldn’t be allowed to run too long.
Sell him and be done with it.
Chelsea are just running up the transfer for United, similar to an auction.

  81. Marko

Sanchez wants glory, but he won’t go to this years champions….

I think it’s more to do with just getting out and away from the club at this point. And let’s be honest City aren’t the only club in England with ambitions who are capable of winning titles and challenging in Europe. United and Chelsea can too

  82. London gunner

Man united fans absolutely salivating st the prospect of Sanchez…

Bu bu buu but Sanchez is crap the akp mongheads say

  83. Dissenter

‘Bu bu buu but Sanchez is crap the akp mongheads say”

    That’s Paulinho, the ant-Sanchez poster.
I haven’t seen so much money offered for a poor player on the last 5. months of his contract.

  84. London gunner

Sanchez going to United is a big mistake for Sanchez.

It’s basically signing on to never win a premier league/major title again

United aren’t going to win the PL this year or next year and probably not the year after. Sanchez at 29 can’t wait.

He’d be better served waiting for summer and being picked up on a free by city.

Chelsea is the unknown quantity… he could go there and Chelsea could be champions again or go through a drought or two years…

It’s really hard to predicate the next season, but city are likely in with a shot of retaining the title and United I just can’t see winning it.

  85. London gunner

    Dissenter

It’s obviously he is seen as an elite player.

It’s why pep was chasing him for such a long time and why mourinho is in for him and why it’s even quasi credible that Chelsea are even for him.

He is incredibly hire in demand and for good reason. He can be a player that wins you th me me game that makes the crucial impact or difference if that’s not WC I don’t know what is.

  86. Cart

I remember when I used to work for an old employer. I used to dread going in every day leading up to my eventual departure.

Yes I was being paid but the effort I was putting in was deminishing, though it was massively noticeable to the client until near the tail end.

Now imagine what Sanchez is dealing with. The man goes in every day to listen to Wenger’s philosophical tripe while scanning the training pitch and seeing the likes of Welbeck and Walcott lol

  87. Pierre

    Didn’t see what Don said…

Just out of interest was it any worse than calling someone a” mongehead “.

Quite an offensive term if you ask me but because it was said in relation to an AKB mongehead then I suppose that’s OK then.

  88. UTarse

I fail to undersrand how so many wenger outs on here are salivating at the prospect of any decent player joining us whilst wengunt is the manager ??? Any player worth their weight in salt will say thanks but no thanks as long as he picks the team.

And the theory that mislentat is undermining him his useless cos wengunt will just put whoever it is out of position to spite anyone who does exactly that !

I’m with hillwood, red truth and graham62. I hope no one comes. That would be the most damning verdict on the club and the sorry state it is in.

    Fuck wenger.

  89. Marko

Quite an offensive term if you ask me but because it was said in relation to an AKB mongehead then I suppose that’s OK then.

What’s that? Misspelled anyway. And yeah I’d assume that whatever racist and or homophobic thing Don said was worse cause there’s no such thing as a mongehead
