Well, well, well. Can’t say there have been many days where I’ve been more disappointed to be British. Out of Europe. We Brexited. It’s game over. No more unity. Really weird feeling as I’ve always felt very much a European citizen over just pure play British.
The working class and the older generations voted themselves into a recession. Voted themselves into the arms of elites like Micheal Gove and Boris Johnson. Voted to solve the problems we have through isolation.
You get the future you vote for. When your leaders are trying to slander intellectualism, expertise and logic, you know you’re in trouble. We’ve gone fully against the grain here and it’s really sad because what’s happened is going to come with serious ramifications… but not for the people rich enough to weather the storm.
Anyway, that’s democracy. Power to the people. A big fuck you to establishment politics by installing the worst kind of establishment politics.
Glad I’m over here watching it… until over here sees what happened over there… then votes in Trump. Then I get my ass deported for anti-Trump tweets. God damn it…
ANYWAY, what do we have on the table today?
Wenger’s summer excuses about transfers just got a boost… the pound collapsing would be great for him. I mean, he doesn’t need much encouragement to not transfer these days… can’t imagine this helped.
Jamie Vardy apparently decided against Arsenal because he didn’t feel our game suited his… I mean, kind of what we were all saying, right? You can see how a mobile striker who likes to chase balls could work for Arsenal, or any club. That kind of looked like a hammer to sort our striking issues. I could see what Wenger was thinking. We have sharp passers in midfield who could release him accurately… but that wouldn’t solve the issues we normally face. Deep lying defence. 8 behind the ball.
Great that Vardy had to point out that Wenger’s vision was tactically inept…
So life goes on. Can’t think of who we’re in for now, but please lord, say there’s a plan. Hopefully our new scouts have some players that are a bit more interesting that the who’s who of the top 5 goalscorers in the Premier League.
Wenger says he’s too old for international football. He also said…
“a bit old now to make long-term plans”
Well, that is tantalising. I wonder how long he can be assed with it all? Hopefully this is his last season and he’ll bow out without messing things up too badly. HOPEFULLY.
Right, I am literally too depressed to write anymore.
See you tomorrow. x
