Dick Law pays terrible price for ‘your mum’ joke

Hey, don’t even talk to me about your day, because mine has been more hectic.

Right, so what do we have in the world of Arsenal today?

Not much really. It’s a bit quiet.

Have you ever seen a 51 year old man get told off by a journo? No? Try this. Nigel Pearson getting a metaphorical ass slapping.

Ever been, like, really embarrassed because when you were negotiating that pay rise at PC World, your mum burst in the room and slapped your boss? Jeez, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, I feel your pain bro.

Screen Shot 2015-04-30 at 17.29.34

Ainsley, don’t worry, my dad once came home pissed when I was sharing pizza with four mates and asked whether he’d just ‘walked into fat club’ because there was ‘a lot of obesity’ in the room. Bad times. Especially as I was very skinny as a child. it was clear who is was talking about.  you get over it.

Know this Ainsley, you get over it, but your football career goes down the pan.

There’s talk about Schneiderlin going over to Spurs. Yeah, sure newspaper liars, I bet he’s going to leave Southampton to go to a club that is even more unlikely to make the Champions League. He’ll be coming to Arsenal. Well, that’s what I hope and I’ve heard he wants to follow.

In other news, if Morgan buggers off to Spurs, after we all stop hating him, you’ll come to me and say, who could we sign next? Well, I’ll say, how about the injury-prone Gundogan, who has just decided not to renew his contract with Dortmund?

If you were to say, hey, what’s the best way to react when your team mate scores?

I’d probably say this reaction isn’t it.

Right, that’s all I have time for today. Have a fun Thursday night, and remember to tell all your friends that Le Grove is cool.

Wright turned Arsenal from a league team to a Cup team.

Arsenal won the Cup Winners Cup not the European Cup and it was all down to George Graham.

    “Eduardo
£7m. 21 goals in 41 goals and another one of our players to almost have their careers wrecked by an English thug. But for that sickening injury, we would probably would have won that title in 2008.”

    ______________

Lol Willow lying again suit his agenda. Eduardo didn’t score 21 goals in 41 games (not goals lol). He scored 21 in 67 games. Ffs stop lying and make up stats.

Just going to put this out there, because I need to rant, trains, were an absolute joke today, awful commute

    21+41=62

    Not 67. Close though

Wtf are you talking about? Willow said Eduardo scored 21 goals in 41 games for Arsenal which is wrong. Eduardo played 67 games for Arsenal and scored 21 goals.

Dick Law the man whom got clocked by a players mum.

Its just gets better… bitch slapped from the Anfield to the Emirates and now… Colney. He did procure Campbell.

  6. TitsMcGee

Ronaldo is such a petulant ass.

Teammate scores to make it 3-0 and stay 2 points behind Barca and he’s pissed because Arbeloa pipped him for the tap-in.

  7. nasri's mouth

    @R.S.P.C.

I think they’re worried he’s become too accustomed to captivity and won’t be able to survive in the wild…

…oh, not that kind of release 🙁

” United have already expressed an interest in Gundogan and have tried to sign him in the past, but Arsenal have the player on a list of midfield targets for the summer and are likely to make an enquiry after also looking at him in January.

With the emergence of Francis Coquelin as a traditional defensive midfielder who sits in front of the defence, Arsenal want a more dynamic player who can track back but also get up the pitch….Morgan Schneiderlin, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, is one option and Southampton value the Frenchman at around £25m. Chelsea have also watched Schneiderlin and Tottenham Hotspur hold a long-term interest.

Gundogan is a player Arsenal scouts have admired for some time and would perfectly fit the role manager Arsene Wenger wants to fill, as he is both tenacious and creative.”

    – Telegraph

Gündogan for 20m or Schneiderlin for 25m….no brainer for me.

  9. Blsany

Fucking pathetic journo was blatantly tryin to bait Pearson, i thought the press conferences was about hearin the managers opinion, not some irrelevant reporter. shit journalism, pat murphy hang your head, cretin.

  10. El Patron

    Ospina

    Bellerin – Hummels – Kos – Monreal

    Coq/Schinerdelin – Ramsey

    Rues – Ozil – Sanchez

    Lacacette/Giroud

that team screams goals and good defense.

  11. El Patron

    Blsany

    who is king kong?

aand I wouldnt put Wilshere over ramsey…. ramsey when fit scores buckets of goals… important ones at that and his energy levels are second to none… ok maybe to sanchez lol

  12. qna

El Patron. I like your thinking. You are bying Lacazette as a CF to play up front by himself. Not sure. But it could also be a true false 9, where he plays as a false 9, but can actually play as a 9 when in goal scoring position. I would not complain about your list. Would be even better with King Kong rather than Schnederlin. Hummels is a little slow for me as well, but I could not fault the ambition if we did buy him.

If we go for the jugular this summer and made available £200m on transfers, leaving around £50m in reserves, would you change that list mate? This is how I would spend it and in the order I would spend it.

    Reus (£45m), Pogba (£75m), Kongdogbia (£20m), Leno (£13m), Gaya (£13m), Dybala (£34m).

I would make way for wages and hg squad positions by clearing: Arteta, Flamini, Diaby, Rosicky, Walcott, Schezeny, Gibbs, Podolski, Campbell, Jenkinson, Sonogo, Miyachi.

The net spend here would be around £140m after player sales.

  13. Blsany

    R.I.P Gregory Mertens

The 24-year-old, who had played for Belgium at Under-21 level, had been in a coma since going into cardiac arrest early in a game against Genk on Monday night.

  14. OnlyCameToSeeEboue

My goodness qna, those figures!! Bro where do you get those from?! Or do you know something we all dont. Are you secretely an agent?

  15. Bamford10

    QNA

Love your enthusiasm, but that’s not at all realistic. We’re not going to sign more than one 30m player, and definitely not THREE. We’re also not spending 70m on a single player. Never going to happen.

One 30-40m, then a couple of 15-25m players is best case scenario. And even that is probably unrealistic given this year’s net spend of 65m.

  16. Le Prof

    qna

    ‘Reus (£45m), Pogba (£75m), Kongdogbia (£20m), Leno (£13m), Gaya (£13m), Dybala (£34m).’

As mentioned before qna you need to come back into the real world and try to be a bit realist.

Out of interest how old are you? This seems like a FIFA 15 wishlist.

Appreciate your fondness for Wilshere. Very rare around here. His head and ankles may keep him from being the player he could and should be, but I too rate him over Ramsey. Just don’t know if he’ll ever be what he could and should be. To be seen.

  18. Wallace

“Appreciate your fondness for Wilshere. Very rare around here. His head and ankles may keep him from being the player he could and should be, but I too rate him over Ramsey. ”

will also align with Bamford here….possibly also for the first time.

  19. Bamford10

    FYI, recent net spends:

    2015 – 65m
    2014 – 33m
    2013 – 8.6m
    2012 – negative 17.5m
    2011 – 6.8m

  20. Blsany

    Bamford
Yeah he is really frustrating player but the talent is there for everyone to see.He will be some player when he gets over his injuries. To me Wilshere should be our Verrati.

  21. Bamford10

If you had to prioritize our needs, how would your list go?

    Mine might be:

    1. CDM
    2. CF
    3. Wide Player
    4. GK
    5. CM

  22. OnlyCameToSeeEboue

Whats going on here? I too agree with Bamford. This is odd, can we please not let this happen again.

  23. Le Prof

    1. DM
    2. WF/CF
    3. GK

Lose Rosicky, Flamini, Podolski. And possibly Szchezny if new keep er is inbound

Wenger: “I believe in my goalkeepers. You see that @D_Ospina1 is top of the league in terms of stats this season” http://t.co/hMZKAUJQIZ

What is it about ospina that makes fans feel he won’t be good enough?

  25. Wallace

    gk – Ospina
fb – Bellerin, Debuchy, Monreal, Gibbs
cb – Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gabriel, Chambers
cm – Coquelin, Cazorla, Ramsey, Wilshere
    am – Ozil
    w – Sanchez, Ox, Gnabry
    cf – Giroud, Welbeck, Akpom

leaving out Szcz, Arteta, Rosicky, Walcott and all the loans that’s still 20 players. i think the summer will be one definite signing and then any more will depend on what happens re Szcz & Theo.

  26. Blsany

    “w – Sanchez, Ox, Gnabry”

They are all Right wingers though. Dm and Lw shoud be our priority. Kondogbia and Dyabala would be awesome!

  27. qna

Bamford: Love your enthusiasm, but that’s not at all realistic. We’re not going to sign more than one 30m player, and definitely not THREE. We’re also not spending 70m on a single player. Never going to happen.

It depends. There are a few issues here. 1) Can Arsenal afford to do this? 2) Will the current owners do this? 3) even if we did this, would it be practical to manage the integration of these into the team.

    1) Yes we can afford it. We have huge cash reserves and this can be spent on playing assets. Most other clubs actually have a negative balance in this column of their books (debts) and still survive perfectly fine. Its when they get close to falling foul of FFP that this becomes a problem. As for wages, with the wages I have cleared it can pay for these players lilely salaries. Also, forward earnings in the PL will increase our future earnings to comfortably cover this move. Further, future earnings in the CL will offer much more significant financial reward for wins and progression. So it is imperative that we improve our quality enough to perform much better in Europe. Anybody who says we CANT AFFORD the hypothetical figures I suggested, dont understand our financial position. As some point out where have I pulled those figures from. They are from unreliable media sources. But anyone who says they know any better are just guessing too.

    2) No. We wont do it. United, City, Chelsea have all shown willingness to do this type of aggressive building recently, but we have not. Also Stan Kroenke is well known for not having highly competative sports franchises. If anything Arsenal is his ugly duckling I am guessing. But, on the positive side. We are finally stable after the stadium move. Until the last one or two years our hands were tied, so there is not much historical reference to be sure how Arsenal plans to position itself moving forward. Certainly when you guage the level of complacency and appathy amongst posters here on LG, there is little pressure for them to aggressively persue European titles like the big clubs in the world essentially are doing.

    3) integration is a more difficult question. We have proven 6 new players can be brought in, in one season this year – our best for a long time according to many here. From my list 3 of those are starters and 3 are promising 22 year olds that I think will have won their starting positions by the end of next season.

  28. Romford Ozil Pele

Seems like it’s Wilshere love-in day on here! Always been one of those who’s defended him. Key for him, as always, is to stay fit and play smarter. Don’t really wanna compare him to Rambo though that is one of Arsenal fans’ favourite pastimes. Both have their strengths and weaknesses which can be improved upon. Wilshere is a dribbler by trade. Ramsey has very good off-the-ball movement and because of this has massive goalscoring potential. Was interesting to hear Liam Brady on TalkShite this morning. Said it’d be a travesty if Arsenal lost Wilshere though he did say JW needs to learn to play more intelligently. Plays like a typical Englishman, all guts and determination but not enough with his head. Hopefully with gametime and fitness this will come. Wilshere & Ramsey are both big talents. How we integrate them both remains to be seen, especially if as the rumours allude to, Wenger is interested in another playmaker/wide-forward type. For me, it’s always been one or the other. But as long as the team strikes the right balance and wins games in a cohesive and efficient manner, that’s the most important thing.

  29. Bamford10

    Daz

    Physique and technique.

He isn’t physically imposing or an athletic “specimen”. Looks kind of soft and lumpy, frankly.

And he doesn’t always look polished or sound on high balls or kicks.

He is tough, courageous and effective, regardless. Just doesn’t seem top, top quality.

  30. vicky

Not totally convinced by Ospina. Just does not look like a potentially top class keeper to me. He has been kind of lucky to be honest. With emergence of Le Coq, our defense settled a bit and Ospina did not have much to do. Anyways, I hope he gets properly tested in the remaining matches we play. If he does well, no problem at all. Otherwise, Wenger would at least consider signing Cech.

  31. Wallace

    Romford

nice article. Mertesacker needs him more than Kos needs Mert, but Koscielny definitely enjoys playing alongside the big German. think they have another two seasons at their peak, although expect Gabriel to seriusly challenge Mert next season.

  32. Blsany

We can forget about Cech he is all over the papers saying how Chavski will win every thing before them.Is he happy to have 5 starts again next season remains to be seen.

  33. qna

    Bamford: FYI, recent net spends

Notice they are exponentially increasing. A net spend this year of £130m is on the cards. Will get us close to what I have proposed if we get a good fee for Walcott and Gibbs and something for guys like Campbell and Podolski.

If we could secure Gaya and a new forward, I would sell Walcott, Gibbs and Jenkinson to Liverpool for £55m. Think thats fair. Might even be able to push them a little higher. Would be a good deal for them too.

  34. Blsany

    Rop
Have you also noticed he stopped giving away penalties now that we have an actuall DM.He would always get hammered from our fans and media when one of the oppostion players would walk through our midfield.Wenger got this one right 😛

  35. Romford Ozil Pele

Wallace – Pretty much. I like defenders who can adapt on their own, cope in a myriad of systems without looking out of place. Like you say, take Kos away from Per and you see a huge difference. Kos can play in a deep system, a high line system with no flaws. Not to rain on Terry’s parade as he’s been great this season (the git). But remember how much he struggled in AVB’s high line. A lot of people at the time thought he was finished. Now they think he’s better than ever. You shouldn’t be just a system player – you should be able to adapt to whatever environment you’re in.

  36. vicky

” I would sell Walcott, Gibbs and Jenkinson to Liverpool for £55m”

Haha !!! One can always rely on Liverpool to buy English players surplus to the requirement.

I would keep Gibbs though. Once he is fit and gets regular game time, he will do well imo.

  37. Romford Ozil Pele

Blsany – Lol yeah he used to give away quite a few penalties. More reflective of the character and type of defender he is. He’s always trying to intercept/get ahead of the CF. 9/10 it works but then it is also a risky strategy that could punish you. High risk vs high reward. Having a proper enforcer has obviously helped. Now the challenge for our enforcer (Le Coq) is to be more progressive when in possession, ala Matic. We don’t want him to be passive during the attacking phase.

  38. Romford Ozil Pele

I think Jenks will go (hopefully we include a buyback clause). Theo may join him. Gibbs is going nowhere though.

  39. Willow Wilson

    ROP
“Doesn’t get enough praise for me (Koscielny)”

Totally agree. As well as being a great defender he is happy to play with the ball too, like the old fashioned liberos in many ways.

    Those stats are surprising though:-

Based on 48 games with him playing and 32 without:

    Clean sheets: 26 in 48 (55%) compared to 3 in 32 (13%)
Goals conceded: 0.65 per game compared to 1.83 per game
    Points per game: 2.33/1.48
Win ratio: 73% in the 48 games with him or 39% in the 32 games without him

Shove Lloris or Cech behind him and get Gabriel playing alongside Kos pre-season. With the DM in front of them, that is going to be strong.

  40. Romford Ozil Pele

Willow – The win % is what got me. It’s staggering how far apart it is. And the amount of games is a good barometer to go by. I’m hoping he’ll form a good partnership with Gabriel ready to start next season. I think people need to stop thinking we’ll buy a CB. It isn’t gonna happen. Think Per becomes 1st back-up, while Chambers begins to be groomed more in that position too. You don’t need more than 4. People need to remember that CB is one of the positions you almost never rotate. John Terry, for example, I think has played every league this season. That’s telling.

  41. Willow Wilson

We don’t want to sell our ‘home grown’ lads to our rivals, especially Man City. Let them resolve their compliance issues themselves, without our help. They circled us like vultures and picked off our players when we were vulnerable, now the shoes on the other foot. Nothing more enjoyable than giving it back to a bully.

  42. Blsany

“I would keep Gibbs though. Once he is fit and gets regular game time, he will do well imo.”

Naah he is the one who has to be shipped out.If anything he just regresses each season.Come on we are going for the title.

  43. qna

Vicky. I would only sell Gibbs if we acquired Jose Gaya first. He is already a better playwer than Gibbs at 21 or 22. Has been fantastic for Valencia who are a chance to qualify for the CL still. He will be much better than Monreal once he develops and a lot of people think he might even push out Jordi Alba in the Spain team. Gaya has a fixed buyout of €18m and is refusing to sign a new contract at the moment. There is a window of opportunity.

But, as with all of the players I usually talk about, there is a big doubt over whether they would even be interested in joining us as bigger and more ambitous clubs are linked with them. In this case Real Madrid. So IF we secured him, then I would sell Gibbs and keep Monreal.

Gibbs is a poor defender anyway. He is fast and can chase down a player that gets behind him. But he is positioning is and always has been diabolical. The only way he has got away with it for so long is 1) because he is English and 2) he gets himself injured so often he is always playing as a player “coming back from injury”

  44. gambon

“Notice they are exponentially increasing. A net spend this year of £130m is on the cards.”

    It isnt at all.

We wont spend that much net, not even close.

We could do, we have the money and we need to to become the best team in the PL, however no-one at the club has the appetite to go and take these risks.

We will go out and sign a couple of good players, and a couple of good kids.

As always we will stop short of what needs to be done and have another season of ups and downs.

  45. gambon

Dont think Gibbs has anything like the ability to play at Arsenal.

People say hes good too put in the team if we need more attacking focus, but hes absolutely useless going forward. Clearly he would never make the team for his defensive ability.

    Tragedy, man !
One red card in a vital game (Ukraine) damaged his reputation, just like you’ve got idiots using Birmingham as a landmark to judge him.

He did have a great game with Varane last time they played, hope Deschamps will have noticed that.

Persisting with Sakho is the kind of mistakes that can cost you a competition unfortunately.

  52. vicky

Do not see our net spend to be anything above 50-60m mark unless we have again an Ozil/Sanchez type situation where a top player becomes available and no other big club is in the race.

“Persisting with Sakho is the kind of mistakes that can cost you a competition unfortunately.”

True that! He’s not a bad defender by any means but he doesn’t exactly inspire confidence either. You’d look at Kos-Varane and think it’s a no-brainer. Is Laporte making many waves in France?

  56. Alfie

Karim – Yes very highly rated in Spain. Talk of 30m euros is silly though considering he’s not better than Kos/Varane but there’s a lot of potential there. Good with the ball at his feet. People reckon he’s better than Zouma. Not sure about that one myself.

And unless you know something we dont, it’s not all for transfer spend is it?

Join us in the real world, please. How old are you out of interest?

    Blsany –

About 2 years ago I played in a 5-a-side football tournament with Paul Merson. He was puffing smoke out his ass after about 3 minutes but he didn’t have to move fast, he could turn 4 people inside out with one bit of skill.

Once you have it, you don’t lose it.
