One signing January inevitable

Oh, my, days…

This post is later than a Arsene Wenger deadline day transfer.

Worst attempt at a humorous analogy ever.

So what’s cracking in the world of Arsenal?

Very little. I read that Arsene said a deal for Paulista was as good as done. Then he retracted on it. I have no idea how good this guy is, all I know is he has pedigree and he’ll be better than no one.

Looks like the push for a DM is over. Expect to see a big grab for Schneiderlin in the summer. I hope Coquelin can continue his impressive rise through the ranks. I’ve been told by numerous people around / in the club he’s the real deal when it comes to commitment. Hopefully his impressive work ethic and love for the game will serve him well. Everyone loves a good ‘he was nearly sold’ story. Hopefully he can be the answer for us. He’s not winning Balon D’or awards, by hey, Makelele didn’t either and he did a pretty good job for Madrid back in the day.

There are a load of really poor rumours doing the rounds. I’m not sure what to make of anything. This is Christmas to publishers keen to put millions in web traffic through their sites. They play on our excitement, it’s cruel, but I’m a glutton for punishment when it comes to being linked with incredible players I know we’ll not sign.

I like the stories doing the rounds about Ozil now being an outcast because we beat City. Since when did a club only need 11 players? You have a squad of players so when you rotate, you don’t lose your balance. Barca, Madrid, Bayern, Chelsea and City all have incredible squads. We need to get used to seeing big names on the bench. That’s how big clubs operate. So don’t lose any sleep over Ozil sitting out a few games. He has a place, just like everyone else.

Final story before I leave you. Arsene says he nearly signed Di Maria. He just won’t leave it, will he?

Out ‘nearly’ 11 is pretty incredible.

Have a great night, see you bright and late tomorrow. It’ll be this way until Monday when I boss it by going from flight to work desk… smashed on Bloody Mary’s.

See the Brighton captain has said they’re going to use the dark arts against us tomorrow. Pretty poor really. It’s the british mentality that ott physicality is ok against Arsenal. This needs to be clamped down on. Very poor.

Looks like it was the players who changed the tactics against City rather than Wenger

“The Gunners held back from their traditional free-flowing attacking approach and defended valiantly in the 2-0 win at the Etihad last weekend

Arsene Wenger has admitted player power forced him to change his football philosophy.

But it now appears that it was dressing room pressure which persuaded Wenger to change and put on a more disciplined display rather than go gung-ho.

Wenger said: โ€œAt some stage you cannot go against the feelings of the team because itโ€™s detrimental to the result.

    In the DT too:

You were very kwik to denigrate last weeks performance v City. It’s le groves raison d’tre though. Seems we always have to bash anything positive we do. I know it’s probably tongud in cheek but in all honesty if we’d been more careful on our counter attacks we could have 3 or 4. It was a good performance was it not ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

‘Cazorla and Ozil should split time as the CAM. No need to shunt either wide, as neither is really all that effective wide. Let pacier, more athletic players play wide. These two should both run centrally.’

You probably wasn’t an arsenal fan when super Robert Pires was doing the very thing you’re saying attacking technical players can’t. If you’d of watched arsenal for more than 2minutes you’d realise it does and can work and you don’t know what you’re talking about.

And ozil is one of the quickest players at the club FYI.

‘All down to a great last name. ‘

You do know Bamford is also a Chelsea rent boy?

I think it’s good that the players feel comfortable enough to be able to talk about this to the manager about how they feel. Wenger obviously was happy to agree and that too is a good thing. The beauty of it was that we had a week to work on it and it showed. With the amount of games we play we rarely get this sort of time to work on things. I hope it continues.

It was a great performance not least because we actually had a game play for a change. If City continue to play so woefully however, one can’t help but think that maybe it was a bit of both great performance and poor performance by the home side. The next few weeks will give some light on the real quality of the victory

City out. Chelsea out. Spurs possibly out. Do we have a real chance of the fa cup again ? Are Southampton out as well ? Liverpool and Man u teams to beat. I’d seriously think about my team tomorrow. Definitely make sure we win the game

So Mourinho said it would be a disgrace if they lost to Bradford. Don’t know how many changes he made but in a few days he’ll be moaning how his squad isn’t strong enough. Looool.

Seriously, outside of the 14 or so players he’s used this season, how strong is the rest of the squad ? I wonder if they’d had our injuries how they would have coped.

Never mind Akpom tomorrow, get Giroud in looooooool. He doesn’t need a rest, he’s started 7 PL games this season and just come back from 3 game ban.

I still think that City was a good result for a number of reasons

    1. We showed we had a game plan

    2. We got 3 points away from home against a top 4 side

    3. The confidence from the win will be huge

    Guys please don’t knock it.

I’d go quite strong tomorrow now. Get the win then see who we draw. We could retain it.

Haha Radio that would cap off a near perfect day if Heskey were to knock the bin dippers out.

After the 3 o’clock results as sick as it sounds you wouldn’t bet against it.

You are the most anti Arsenal person I know. Wenger is not lucky, it’s not his fault other teams messed up. He’s never unlucky when we draw Barca or Bayern in the CL it’s because he messed up in the group stages. You can’t have it both ways.

  12. kingHenry

Massive Lol. @ Mancs and Chavs

To be fair though, you still can’t discredit our win against Man C last week. We played well, and executed a game plan.
I think last week, we were simply the better team, while today was an upset in the truest sense of the word

  13. Bamford10

The “game plan” against City came from the players, not the manager. This on the manager’s admission.

Today’s upsets show what motivated, organized lower-level sides can do against unmotivated, pampered, lackadaisical upper-level ones.
