173,000 empty seats: Here’s the problem and the solution

by & filed under News Review.

Man, I’ve woken up thinking it’s a Friday, not a Thursday. I had a picture of a goat ready and everything. What a shame.

Anyway, big news so far this morning is my mobile phone provider cut me off. The absolute buggers. Still, it’s ok, I can write way quicker at a desk than on a bus.

One of the main stories this morning centres around ACTUAL attendance figures. I think it was pretty clear last season that Arsenal weren’t always filling their pretty stadium.

TICKETS WERE SOLD

For sure, they were. But the gaps around the ground are pretty apparent.

Here are the stats from A is for Arsenal.

* on average the actual attendance was 5,998 lower than that stated by the Club
* on average 6,550 seats were empty per game
* the worst attended match was Fenerbahce at 44,779, which was 15,559 lower than capacity and 11,492 below the official attendance
* the best attended game was Liverpool in the league at 57,341
* the real average attendance was 53,788 compared to 59,786 announced by the Club
* a total of 173,945 seats went unoccupied at home games last season

Some pretty alarming numbers there. If everyone bought a £8 salt beef bagel, which is entirely possible, that’d be an extra £1.3m. Ok, I know that we don’t get the catering figures. Where exactly do Arsenal make money in the stadium?

I missed about 3 games last year, I think? One was because I forgot my ticket. If everyone missed three games over a 29 game period, we’d have actually had more missing seats at 181,014. I guess when you put it like that, it’s not inconceivable that we’re in the situation we’re in.

Things Arsenal need to do…

Build an app through the magic of technology that allows you to share your ticket with other app holders, or allows you to sell you ticket back to the club at short notice.

Get this… you gain entry into the stadium in exactly the same way you gain entry to a plane with ticket systems like the one you have on an iPhone.

This, for me, solves it all.

I also think the idea of fuelling this ticketing idea works by giving people home credits for attending games. People bloody love rewards schemes. Arsenal should make this app the hub of all their digital activity. Retail outlets are gamifying their purchasing experience, maybe Arsenal could do something similar? Think of all the data they could accrue… imagine being able to buy your food in the stadium through NFC… no more massive cues because the guys at the tills can’t count. Imagine getting replays to your phone in the ground. Imagine being able to watch the highlights on your way home in your exclusive season ticket app. IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES IF ARSENAL HAD AN INTEGRATED DIGITAL APPROACH TO ECOMMERCE, TICKETING, MEDIA AND ALL THE OTHER STUFF.

Next level shiz, right there…

It’s clear there are probably a lot of people who just buy up the tickets so they have them for the big games with clients. This isn’t on. Arsenal need to weed out the people who buy tickets and don’t use them. There should be a clause that if you don’t use your ticket, you lose it. Bit draconian, but come on, this is a club that needs people in the ground… because the waiting list is so long.

Still, it has to be said, having a season ticket is not only expensive, it’s also a massive time drain. You simply can’t make all the games during the season. The problem is that when you can’t make the games, the club don’t give fans the tools to distribute their tickets properly. I sorted my pals ticket last season, the next game, I forgot mine in the flap to make sure I had his. It’s such a ball ache shifting someone else’s ticket, then there’s the added pain in the arse of potentially getting nicked selling it on… there has to be another way.

When firms like Viagogo are cool to sell third party tickets at horrendous markups, why can’t fans or clubs build a system that takes care of it. I’d rather give my seat back to the club knowing someone else could get it on the day.

Something for Arsenal to work on I guess… ultimately, if there were cheap last minute tickets on the door, the club could indoctrinate young fans into the Arsenal way (I’ve been watching Jesus Camp).

I’d jump into the affordability thing… but for me, it’s not about affordability, it’s about the convenience of shifting your ticket. If you can’t afford to go, don’t buy one.

Finally, before I go (I’m totally ignoring the Mbia stories), take a watch of this hilarious advert from Fox about too much sport killing marriages. I love American sport advertising.

Juan Mata will play as a #10 behind Rooney and RVP. He will replicate his Chelsea form again. Top class player.

  2. gambon

Barca wouldve smashed the PL back in the day, but they really, really are an exception.

Wenger is so reactionary in everything he does its unreal.

Not to mention that Barca probably wouldnt have won anything since 2009 if it werent for the genius of Messi.

So for all the talk of Xavi, Iniesta people forget that we would probably be talking about a team that got to a few semi finals and came second in LaLiga if it werent for the best player ever.

Its no different to every 6’5″ kid thinking they will be the next Usain Bolt because there was one 6’5″ sprinter who made it big

  3. Keyser

“He would rather create 20 chances and score 1, than score 4 from 10 chances.
Fergie always adopted the exact opposite approach…..function before form, and look at the chasm in managerial quality between them”

Do you actually watch football ?

  4. Nasri's Mouth

Wenger has a philosophy of how he wants his teams to play but to suggest that his ‘primary aim’ is pretty football is nothing more than BS.

Wenger believes his system will win games. Just like every other manager believes theirs will

  5. Keyser

I wouldn’t really draw much from the Citeh game, except the difference scoring the first goal gives us and how much sharper we were with the short incisive passing game.

Two things further from that, while our passing was good, as it should be, Ramsey and Arteta have been present from day one I think of pre-season, Cazorla and Wilshere were there pretty early so you’d expect us to be sharper. We still wasted numerous chances where the 3rd or 4th pass in a move broke down simply by a lack of understanding or poor execution.

Citeh aren’t really as technically gifted as us, but they are usually far more powerful, and while we played well, Dzeko and Kolarov exposed Chambers pretty easily, aswell as players not being tracked back into the penalty area. They simply didn’t take their chances.

Citeh really were poor and their potential upside is a lot higher than ours.

Empty seats is such a piss take when so many people would love to be watching!
Feel that had Wenger looked properly for a DM Gary Medel who Cardiff sold to Inter would have been a massive improvement on everything we have. Was so good in the WC and was one of the better Cardiff players last season.

  8. Byo

Pedro does a thoughtful treatise on ticketing, empty seats and suggestions about new tech.

The usual comments are the same repetitive dribble they’ve been harping on all summer:
“We need a big strong CDM”
    “we need a CF”
    “Wenger needs to buy a CF, 2CB, 2CDM, 2LB…..”
“Wenger needs to sell Carzola, Podolski….”
    “Giroud is championship level striker”
    “Wenger is senile”

May the lord give us patience.

  9. azed

“May the lord give us patience.”

You mean we aren’t patient enough after witnessing 8-2, 6-0 , and the likes over the past 8 years?

  10. Harry Redknapp

problem is byo, how many grovers either dont have a ticket or actually want a ticket? the piece pedro has written applys to not a lot, so its dm’s and cbs and eveveryone elses strikers for subject of the day again

from a technical perspective ,chelsea fans seeing lampard in a man city kit must be as enjoyable and it would be to see arteta back in a everton kit. considering they brought in cesc.

Agree Mata is an amazing player

A frontline of Rooney Van Persie with Mata behind them is amazing three world class players. If they fire they could win the league

  15. N5

BiG, agreed. It’s still going to be horrible when they come to us and he comes out in his Chelsea shirt. I wonder what reception he’ll get?

  16. Harry Redknapp

nah sol wasnt that bad a traitor. spurs fooled him into signing one deal by gettin sheringham to sign then selling him to the mancs after sol signed an extension, and then tryin to tell sol where he was going when he became a free agent. they deserved what they got

  17. Keyser

Wallace – Sorry didn’t reply about the Guardian, post/ comment you put up a few days ago on Chambers.

It feels a bit harsh picking on Chambers, though the comparison to Koscielny is apt in how much stick he got in his first season, in his first game he got sent-off, again harshly.

It’s different in how little we’ve seen of him, but also Chambers will have known himself considering the various positions he’s played and he’s unsure of what his best position will be.

I think the physical side, the English players we’ve brought in have all shown that they’ve been bulked up a lot quicker then we might’ve done actually bringing them through ourselves, Chambers looks pretty big already, but like Ox will have to adapt physically in other ways.

I’m not sure how much of an upside there will be in that respect, Koscielny already had that burst of acceration, that tenacity, and I’d put both instances where Chambers fell short down to naivety, of position and of who he was playing against, both were worrying considering how few chances Citeh actually created and how two were directly his fault.

Even if he doesn’t quite have the pace, he’ll surely learn from one of the best around in having to try and adapt in Mertesacker, I don’t think Per would have taken the same line for example, he’d simply have left a couple of yards between himself and Dzeko, tried to stay goalside or taken him out completely.

  18. BacaryisGone

It’s a tough one, N5. I have a feeling it will be more on the Clichy spectrum.

    Level A: RVP, Adebayor, Nasri
    Level B: Clichy, Cesc
    Level C: Sagna, Toure

    Unconditional Love: TH14

  19. BacaryisGone

Really great subplots this season. Each one of Arsenal’s 5 main rivals has at least one player that was important to us. Well, right now Liverpool have Toure but he’s unlikely to be seen for them again.

  20. Romford Pele

    Jim/N5/HR

He’s a lot smarter than is from Guildford so much posher, too! But yes, I hope he’ll indulge in a lot of fanny Balotelli while he’s down there too!

Only downside to him is that he follows his dad, meaning he’s a Chelsea fan!

  21. Bamford13

Two weeks left in the window, yes? And it looks like we will head into the season with Arteta and Giroud in the starting XI and plenty of money unspent.

Either Wenger is delusional and believes this squad can win the EPL title or he has other priorities.

    Incredibly frustrating.

  22. N5

“Only downside to him is that he follows his dad, meaning he’s a Chelsea fan!”

Please withdraw my good luck comment 😕

  23. Romford Pele

“Please withdraw my good luck comment :???:”

Love my nephew but have to avoid him as much as possible. His dad is the smuggest c***. Blooming Chelsea fans. Feel like I wanna dropkick him everytime I see him.

  24. Keyser

“With Arsenal season tickets costing up to £2,013, will fans look for cheaper ways of enjoying the game? Potters Bar, who play 11 miles north of the Emirates, are giving free season tickets to anyone interested in attending their ground. Will their plan work?”

  25. Romford Pele

“If he was a lot smarter than you, he know better than to support the chavs!!!”

Got there too late mate. My sister didn’t let him hang out enough with me when he was younger. Born at the perfect time considering this current Chelsea period.

  26. leon

first off i cant believe the summer has gone so quick the first game this saturday, for the first in a long long while i am very happy with every single one of wenger signings.the kidera deal never going to happen madrid will want 25-30 million plus the guys wages are far to much.I think this team needs a untility player some who can cover dm and cb as well. i know some poeple are saying that we need central striker i dont agree mobile strikers who play across the front is the way to go

“My nephew got 3As and he’s off to Cambridge to study Pharmacy. The Romford household is proud!”

Yes congratulations for that, always a worry waiting on those results, now the pain of the expense of it all !

One of our boys has finished and now a web developer the other is 1/3rd of his way his Zoology degree (poor sod got caught with the much higher tuition fees).

I’m sure it will all pay off in the end. He will love Cambridge (was there yesterday), no shortage of top totty either !

  29. Bero

As a lowly red member I’d like season ticket holders to be able to sell me back their ticket much more easily… The whole online system is such a faff and its defo not easy to use on the go… Surely there has to be a better way as Pedro has said. I’ve ended up having to do all sorts to use mates tickets… I’ll go whenever I have the opportunity unless it’s Sunday’s which I can’t make… That’s one less empty seat for all those other games.

  30. Romford Pele

    Vintage – cheers

B63 – Yeah I agree. Can be so nerve-wracking having to wait all summer for results. The tuition fees really aren’t kind to kids today. But you’re right, Cambridge is a lovely area, not sure what campus will be like though!

  31. Dissenter

Madrid have to sell Khedira this window or lose him for nothing.

They’ll sell him for 10-15 million on August 31st to avoid losing him for NOTHING.

Madrid won’t let him leave on a free. Van der Vaart was sold in the same way to Spuds.

    Wenger knows this.

You are such a cunt mate. You visit an Arsenal blog just to slag off the club and everything about us. I remember your rant about the Invincibles being no great achievement, your regular ‘you arsenal fans’ and when RVP left “at last he’s gone to play for a proper team”.

Just Becos a handful of morons riddled with agendaitis let you get away with it, you make fun. I told you before, let’s have a meet. Anywhere but Manchester.

“May the Lord Give Us Patience”

I bet we haven’t been patient enough right?
I doubt If you would see anyone talking about such positions if we had anything remotely close to what we had in 2003/04.
It has become a daily topic of discussion because anyone with a little football brain can see/predict how far off we are from winning the EPL/UCL.
Can predict how slow Giroud will be again when the EPL resumes & how ineffective Arteta in midfield against Top teams would look next season.

But like you said Byo, We should all join hands and ask Our Lord & Savior For Divine Patience.

Not as if We Can Do anything to effect Change from a legrove blog but damn hell. …..we sure can talk about it & prepare our selves for the outcomes when they come pouring in our faces later on in the season and we can also hope Wenger sees this defects before the window closes..

    Hi guys

I called Arsenal yesterday and they told me that tickets for the CL qualifier return leg vs Besiktas at the emirates won’t go on general sale.

I am visiting London for a week and will be in London on the 26th. The match is taking place wednesday 27th and i would love to go at the emirates to see Arsenal. If anyone could help me get hold of two tickets for the game please contact me on my email: adnank-@hotmail.com

I was contacted by two guys who must have read my posts here but after i answered there email’s, they have not answered back….i don’t know why.

Please guys, any kind of help is much appreciated.

  36. Romford Pele

Bigper – It’s not the first time he’s said it though. He loves Gervinho. And to be honest, bar Gervinho’s time here, he’s been a success at every club he’s been at.

Lol even Totti said that if Gervinho’s finishing was better, he’d basically be Cristiano Ronaldo and Roma would’ve never signed him!

  37. DUIFG

Gervinho is flawed, he can do some incredible things but the basics fail him at crucial times.

For his talent Roma got a steal at 6 mil, never worked out, good luck to the kid.

  38. Romford Pele

“Gervinho is flawed, he can do some incredible things but the basics fail him at crucial times.”

This is it. One minute he dribbles past 3 players and slots it in the bottom corner, the next he can’t even control a simple pass into his feet. You’re left scratching your head.

  39. Bade

    Pedro

If you paid for the ticket already, then why would you give a f*ck about returning it to the club, IF there’s no incentive?

I think best way is setting a balace credit for the ST holders, so if you can’t attend a game you can get a partial refund if it’s been re-sold by the club, while the club can lift this refund & some expenses-covering commission from the new buyer.

This way all of parties are happy.

ST gets partial refund for a game he couldn’t attend.
The club earn great credit serving its consumers & at the same time earning another excited fan on the ground.
The fans that don’t have the connections to neck a ST can enjoy one of the best experiences of their lives.

Think of it. The possibility to give joy for another 173,000 groupies each season

The chance of having another 6k of vocal voices in on each mathcday, because rest assured, most of those who will win those tickets will be people crying for games & will probably I did when I came to London to watch the Arsenal.

It can be a great enterprise where everyone can benefit

    Hazard also said this:

“Untouchable. It’s a French movie – it’s a very emotional movie, very real movie about a handicapped man who seeks help from someone coming from the ghettos of France who doesn’t have a lot of money. So [they are] completely different personalities, but they have a great friendship.”

me too, very much loved that movie; it’s a wonderful story inspired by a true story. really touching and example of people facing their fears, prejudices and racism to come to live together and fight the battles of live together.

I recommend everybody to watch that film.

Dissenter: Madrid have to sell Khedira this window or lose him for nothing. They’ll sell him for 10-15 million on August 31st to avoid losing him for NOTHING.

I think so as well. They will use him if they dont sell him but he is now a bench player. I really hope he doesnt go to chelsea. They are already too strong.

We could really use him and the fee will be ok. But he would have to come for around £100k/wk. I dont think we should bring him for any higher than that. Could move on the last day when all offers are in.

  43. DUIFG

Cant help but think not getting remy for 10 mil is going to bite us, 14 from 28 in pl last year, those are really good stats for a team that lost its playmaker midway through.

He would score a lot of goals for us, no risk purchase.

when we play like we did sun its easy today goals will come easily from different outlets, this will grind to a halt, t always does in certain games, we need somebody to carve outa chance and create, to win points we really had no right to win.

for 10 mil this guy can certainly do it, why go in under resourced in such a crucial position.

  44. Bigper

Looks like Suarez playing ban is upheld, think its a good thing.

No remy is not a quality player. No better than bendtner. He would score that many at newcastle as well.

We need better than giroud if we are going to move up. Remy is a sideways/down move.

Exactly. I also argued for his purchase and I thought it could have made sense business and football wise.

I think not buying him was out of fear of his heart problem coming back. they may have thought “he has documented injury record, a heart problem and asking for big wage and that there is too much risk in there”.

no worries. i just thought it was an interesting read. he wasn’t actually outpaced by Dzeko, more that, as you say, he took the wrong angle. Southampton playing him at FB would suggest he’s quick enough. fingers crossed Shad can oversee a Bale-like transformation in his power/build.

………..and the fans are taken for mugs again while Kroenke’s son takes a seat on the board. You couldn’t make this shit up.

There are some on here who constantly waffle on about how ethical the club is. They fuel themselves with the underpinning assumption that the club has ‘paid its own to dues to get to where it is right now, conveniently ignoring continual fake promises and periodic cockteasing that’s helped them swindle millions out if its members (the fans) in order to do so. They live under the myth that we are the greatest sporting institution when it comes to Corporate Social Responsibility, primarily by intentionally limiting their understanding to anything that scopes outside of the purpose of the AGM and the Annual Report. They are indoctrinated to the core and so do not see that they are being abused, and are never backwards in becoming abusers to those that suggest so. They think that they’re helping the club in some way, but they really aren’t.

Just as usual, the club have done the bare minimum (to fans quiet and content) without any real intention of competing with the best. The saddest part to it is that if anyone suggests otherwise they’ll be made ungrateful for doing so.

  52. DUIFG

I can see the argument unless you are buying unreal quality then don’t bother at all, but this is wenger we are talking about, he loves a bargain,

At that value you cant lose on Remy, only upside.

OG tries bless him but he has inherent limitations, for 10 mil we get a guy who offers something totally different to OG.

On another note, Swansea hare buying fenrnadez for 7 mil, perfect 4th choice CB in my book.

  53. Seattle Green Lake Gooner

LeGrove, Your ticket idea is brilliant and is already being done at Seattle Sounders (MLS). Stan’s people and Ivans hould be aware of this. We have a team run “ticket exchange”. It’s hosted by ticketmaster… you can sell your tickets electronically via the exchange at a moments notice (or months aheadof the match). The club keeps 5-10%. However you are allowed to post at aboveface value. You can cover the 5-10% or even make a profit. We also have the point scheme. A friend at work accumulated enough points to have an 22 person scrimmage on the Century Link Pitch – yes on the actual pitch in an empty stadium with 21 friends. You can accumulate points buying season tickets, buying away tickets, buying extra single game tickets and also buyign merchandise and condiments/beverages… yes you can collect points for drinking tons of beer at the match. Theytrack everything via a memebrhsip card yo swipe before yo use your credit card or gain entry to an event. At this point they probbaly kow justabout everything about any season ticket holder down to their clothing size.

I am a ST holder and have tried using the official “ticket exchange” system on the official website and it’s a nightmare to use. So much faff that I give up using it. I believe that you can only post your ticket if the game is sold out in any case, which means more often than not you are not able to post the ticket on the exchange.
Personally, I’d be happy to “give” my ticket back to the club and let them sell it on the day of the game if they had a system for this.

  58. Alfie

Yet in later life you’ll look back with odd pride and nostalgia!

Cesc, don’t think I really regret anything from Uni. All of them were pure just YOLO moments, no shame on my part. It’s all part of the process. Obviously I wouldn’t do a lot of the stuff now but Uni was made for those moments – and when you look back, you’ll cherish it immensely.

    Guess so.

My mum does call me a wanker a lot. I just thought she was saying it affectionately or as a joke…but more and more people seem to be saying it.

That’s what I’m thinking, my first year is done and a lot of people I’ve spoken to say it settles down a bit now, more about just cherishing the time you have left, enjoying the people and the life before you have to enter the real world.

Wonder what the delay is in signing a CB. We dont have to wait for last day on that one. Bit risky isnt it. I can understand waiting on DM and ST, but thought we would have signed CB by now.

Where did you get this from ? I never said that, it was Alfie ? Take another look above !

  68. Holmes

@Alfie, I went to uni mate and loved every minute of it, so much so that I stayed and did 2 degrees and a Masters (9 years in total) – and whilst it’s helped propel me into my career years down the line I have lots of great memories. Best years of my life , hands down!!

Although if I could go back and be 16 and chose a new path again, I’d probably chose a trade like plumbing and set up a business. It’s ridiculous what those guys get away with charging for a few hours work.

Yes, I once watched it: very funny comedy with a sensible social message, but nothing cheesy or over the top. As you said, it’s a true story.

You might not have gone uni mate, but no one has the amount of troll fans that you do. Sure someone went uni and made millions for themselves, but I bet in their twilight years while sitting in their summer log cabin in the grounds of their mansion, sipping a nice glass of malt while looking out over their lake, he’ll turn to his supermodel missus and say…..

” You know what’s missing love….trolls, I have everything but those trolls. How I’d love to have been a troll master like the legendary N5″ 😀

Mate, sorry to burst YOUR drivel but Arsene Wenger IS senile. And it is only because the Lord has given Gooners like myself patience, we have come to accept Wernger’s senility.
Now I’m praying that the Lord gives me even a modicum of HOPE with the Senile One in charge for three more seasons.

  78. Ozy

Yeah, I think Khedira might be a deadline day signing, to bring his price down. At this point, as much as I think he’s the kind of player we don’t need, I’ll be happy with that. We need somebody in that position. Arteta being made captain over Mertesacker is a bad sign. And can we just sign this Manolas kid before others sniffing around turns into concrete interest? Like Man U, Juventus, Bayern…

My heart goes out to the community of Ferguson in the states. The police brutality and response to their peaceful protests is absolutely shameful.

  79. Rhys Jaggar

    Pedro

There already is an online system for allocating your tickets, at least there is for Club Level. Basically, you sell the ticket back to the Club (minus an admin fee) and it gets added to your credits prior to buying next season’s season ticket.

I agree with you, it’s not an integrated e-app, but I guess it shows that the Club are receptive to that kind of thing?

I must say: if you could pre-order snacks/drinks and collect with an e-receipt on your mobile, that would really increase flow before, during and after the game.

  80. Alfie

“My heart goes out to the community of Ferguson in the states. The police brutality and response to their peaceful protests is absolutely shameful.”

Peaceful protests??? Do me a favour.

They are nothing more than looters and try-your-luck thugs. Im sure the Molotvs they were throwing in the street screams peace.

They sell most of their best players and buy in Shane Long ? Are they trying to emulate Arsenal !

  84. Rocky Pires

Karembeau used work with us usedn’t he?
He is head of Olpia now and saying Juve and an English Club have bid for Manolas.

Khederia and Manolas would be some statement.
If Juve get Manolas then Luisao of Benfica would be ok, 33 year old Brazilian, who scored two against Spurs.
44 caps for Brazil, tough mofo.

  85. Ozy

Alfie, I’m not trying to start a debate here. The looting was performed by a small minority. There are countless videos and reports online about how they’re responding to the peaceful protests – rubber bullets, tear gas, destroying of media equipment, no fly zone, militarized weapons, racial slurs, aggressive maneuvers. How is that all a rational response to a protest because they themselves killed an unarmed kid in cold blood? Military veterans are speaking out about how they’re using military grade weapons and are more equipped than they were in an actual warzone. Alfie, please, stay in your lane because I’m afraid you’re blissfully unaware of what’s truly happening. Show me one video of a molotov being thrown and I’ll show you 30 more of tear gas being thrown at houses, at reporters, at pastors, at children, rubber bullets being shot into crowds of people with their hands up, protesting the complete disregard of a black life by the police department that are sworn to protect them.

I’m not bringing this discussion here. This is a football blog. I’m merely trying to raise awareness so you all can see what’s going on and hopefully pass the message across.

Well think yourself lucky, you’re only paying 3.1k a year student fees to wank instead of between 8-9k a year now.

    Discount wanking !

  88. Herkules

Electronic tickets and e-ticket exchange programs have been commonplace in the US for nearly 10 years. No need to invent anything dramatic – just license existing technology.

Because it would so painfully easy to incorporate the US model – I have to think that there must be some sort of legislation at either the UK or FA level that doesn’t allow for electronic ticketing???

I went to a game at the Emirates recently on a borrowed ticket and was shocked at how hard it was to find out where on earth I could pick it up. A seriously ancient system.

there are conflicting reports, (unsurprisingly) ranging from him assaulting the policeman in the vehicle, to being shot multiple times while facing the officer with his hands in the air at a distance of 20 feet or so.

  91. Ozy

Alfie, best not to begin this discussion here, you’re right. In every other aspect of your argument, you are wrong and it is you, my friend, who needs to open your eyes. And next time you refer to a colored person as a “thug,” remember that “callign us ‘animals’ and ‘thugs’ has been the language to justify slavery, Jim Crow and all manners of injustice. Racism and dehumanization go together.”

So, please, don’t. And Jim Lahey, that account is only being told by the Police Department. Search around for the account by multiple witnesses in the scene and his friend and you will see the same, familiar message – he did not even fight back. The police officer in question, Bryan P Willams, posted a selfie on his facebook the 12th, with not a scar or wound or anything in sight. Listen to his friend’s account, the person walking with him, the account of everybody that knew him and how they have expressed that him assaulting an officer would be completely out of nature, and learn the truth.

Anyway, carrying on.. to football! We’re speaking of electronic tickets and whatnot.. so I really don’t have much to add to this discussion.. lol..

Alfie I was student for 4 years, and can say I have never eaten a Pot-Noodle.

ASDA 11p Chicken Flavoured Noodles – now we’re talking 🙂
Pot-Noodles are way overpriced – they simply don’t offer value in the food-shopping-transfer-market.
