Defender leaves the nest | Theo accosts naked new boy

Bloody hell, Quintero. Quin-bloody-who?

Apparently Arsenal are close to agreeing a deal for the Colombian attacking midfielder for £20m. Seems like a crazy move for me, but his agent has come out and said that his player is flying to Arsenal to thrash out a deal for the starlet.

Interesting.

Curve ball.

Not sure what to think.

So what do we know about him? Well, he’s a technically gifted left footed number ten who scores the odd spectacular goal. He doesn’t have much of an appearance record to go by, only 4 starts last season, but he did play quite well in The Emirates Cup. He loves a flick, a bit like Cristiano did back in the day. He’s a long termer if he is coming in, well, not massively long term, but I’d imagine he’ll need a couple of seasons to get up to speed.

Feels like an odd one if true. I don’t know enough about him. However, I’m excited because he’s expensive.

There. I said it. Think what you will, I don’t care.

Steven Gerrard has been pushing his contorted confused face into our business.

“I would have been really sad and disappointed to see Luis go to Arsenal. With all due respect to them, I said to him that he was too good for Arsenal. I said if you score 30 goals for us and win the PFA player of the year, the press player of the year – I knew he was going to win them – I told him Real or Barcelona will come for you.”

Steven, what’s that all about? I mean, on the face of it, yeah, maybe you were right. However, looking at how the tables have turned, I’d say that you might be eating those words by the end of the season. If we land two more names, we’re competing for the top honours. I’d say that Liverpool really are going to struggle this season. I’m not sure about the calibre of some of the signings, and clearly, the manager knows nothing about a Champions League schedule.

It’s a tough year ahead Steven, and know this, I’ll be on hand with that comment to ram it back down your throat at the earliest opportunity.

That’ll show you. It’ll surely keep you up at night.

Mad times for Carl Jenks. He’s made the move over to West Ham for a season under big same. Scary stuff. It did Jack the world of good for a little bit. Rumour has it, twas big Sam who taught him how to smoke a fag like a boss. Just a rumour.

SAY NO TO SMOKING CARL.

In other news, Theo Walcott had a photo with Alexis Sanchez

Bloody hell, that’s what it’s come to. Looks like Theo is more pleased to be in the pic than Alexis. I think Theo has probably accosted him in the shower… bad form Theo. Let the man get some clobber on.

Right, that’s all I’ve time for.

Happy Friday!

    Proof that FFP is working:

36 yr olds Drogba and Lampard go to Chelsea and ManC, the latter on loan

Yes, I did forget Tavos… thank you (not!) for bring him back up — mental vomit if there ever was one — but again… a daft defender.

If wanted a dodgy mental kebab to go with that mental vomit — you have bad bad Oleg, but again as hopeless defender.

Yes, Nelson Vivas — the disaster on legs… what was Wenger thinking when he signed him… but again worringly a defender!

  3. BacaryisGone

Lampard to Man City on loan. Perhaps my worst fears about Milner coming in as CDM might come true. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

KMT – fucking more questioned unanswered than answered re: 9/11 yet that mob want to get involved with something of that magnitude not knowing sweet fuck all about it.

  5. Radio Raheem

If a creaky Gerrard, old Lampard, an unconvincing Wilshere and Henderson are keeping you out of starting in central midfield for England then how much value is there in Milner really?

Sorry mate, 9/11…easily one of the most devastating single atrocities ever…I’m simply not buying the narrative they plug even today

  7. Bero

    Chez
    Debu – mert – kos – gibbs
    Khedira – Ramsey
    Theo – Ozil – sanchez
    Giroud

With the subs this would mean… Where would this team come in the league?

Or what about the same team but with Sanchez up front and ox on the left?

Sorry late reply, chilling with Missus watching Dexter.

    Yourself?

With Vidal in, Fellaini would be a surplus at ManU. Wenger should swap TV5 for Fellaini. And, with that methinks our DM problem will be solved for a few years. Go for it, Wenger!

  10. Wallace

“Asked directly if he would have signed a new contract had Arsenal not won anything last season, Wenger added: “I do not want to answer that question. “

  11. Wallace

“In the last two seasons, things have changed because we had the financial power. But the seasons before we could not. I was sitting here and saying, ‘Yes, who will go next?’ But we managed to get in a better position.

“It’s a vicious circle, once you get great players in everybody wants to stay. You see the case with Southampton. Would Morgan Schneiderlin absolutely want to go if everybody stayed? It’s a vicious circle on both sides.”

  12. Leedsgunner

Is it confirmed and official that Vidal is going to Man United? Until it is I hold a slim hope that with Sanchez on board that Wenger will pull off a master stroke. We strictly don’t need him but he is such a player 😉

  13. Randy

Is Falcao likely to play in the emirates cup? Hopefully AW will be tapping him up while here, imagine:

    Scz/osp
    Deb – Mert – Kos – Gibbs
    Carvalho – Ramsey
    Walcott – Ozil – Sanchez
    Falcao

    That’s a league winner!

  14. freddylekgunner

Lol Silvestre saying Sánchez is not what we need. Going on further to say we don’t need more pace and quickness. He said we need more in the mould of Giroud… Lol

  15. Nasri's Mouth

    @freddylekgunner

I can only guess he meant we should sign more physically bigger players. Saying that Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla are the same type of player either shows a complete lack of football knowledge or…. or… no, fuck it, the bloke’s an idiot

  16. Gunnershabz

If we selling tommy v then we should be bidding for Marcos rojo he is ideal player to have and wenger is loving the South American players right now

  17. Wallace

ps – Bild quoting Gazzetta della Sport who are saying Utd have increased their offer from 43m to 60m. not completed yet though.

  18. southernpeople

    Wallace

    That’s surely more than £50m!
when you see the prices mentioned for great players you think we’re lucky we’ve got Sanchez on the cheap!

  19. southernpeople

and those who hired him as a pundit have just made the biggest mistake, although they should be forgiven for M.Owen and Savage are pundits.

  20. Emiratesstroller

Out of curiosity what do you consider is now the going rate for major clubs in
England and elsewhere to spend on for World Class – First Team – Squad players? My assessment is:

    GK 20-30 10-15 0-5
    FB 20-30 10-15 5-10
    CB 30-40 15-20 8-12
    MF 35-45 15-25 10-15
    W 35-45 15-25 10-15
    ST 70+ 25+ 15+

  21. bergkamplegend

    Vidal’s agent at yoonited, ooooppppssssss….

Anyway, there was not a single chance to see him at Arsenal, so what’s the problem ??

  22. bergkamplegend

“his behaviours since he left us showed he’s in the United camp.”

LOL at first I thought you were talking about van pussy

  23. Dissenter

I hope Vermalein recovers from his never-ending injuries to get sold.

It’s time to reverse the Silverstre doctrine on United.

Very excited to see Chambers play at CB today. Saw him a bunch of times last season all at RB and never saw anything to suggest he can play as a CB and by learning he can actually play as a CB it will be interesting to see how he performs there
