Robin’s back today, and what separates Wenger from Wayne Rooney?

by & filed under Uncategorized.

The answer of course is although we know that Wenger tells lies (he said so) and he shags around, we look at morons like shrek and go tut, tut, so what the difference between the two of them? Well the difference is, Arsene didn’t pay for it. So he has the moral high ground, let’s leave it there.

Robin Van Persie is set for a shock early return, is this because he’s suddenly and mysteriously fit, or is this because he’s been fit for sometime and our manager has been his usual overly cautious self? I think because Robin has declared himself fit for Holland, Wenger has decided to play him ahead of his own overly cautious schedule. That’s my take anyway, otherwise why would he be suddenly playing with no notice.

We’ll find out today no doubt, either way it promises to be a fun day, we need to win to keep up with the lucky Mancs, so we can’t be doing anything other than going for the jugular from the off, we’ve seen what they can do if they get their noses in front, we should attack from the off.

I said yesterday I fully expect a big win, if Robin comes on I hope he scores a blinder, gets a slight knock and misses the Nederlands game, that would be poetic, by a knock, I mean gets a leg graze from his sock. That’ll be 2 weeks out for our super cautious manager.

Arsene it’s a shame you weren’t so cautious in Paris Arsene! You might be enjoying your kippers a bit more this morning if you were!

Sagna Djourou Squillaci Koscielny

Wilshere Cesc Nasri

Theo Chamakh Arshavin

Go on Arsene, try that midfield and drop Clichy. Have a great day Grovers, I think we’ll get a little closer to the chavs today and go back into second, at least we are putting daylight between us, the Northern chavs and the spuds.

walcott has great pace and hes a good finisher but the problem is getting him into a position where he can have a pop

  2. pharo9ja

LOL WTL,don’t push ur luck on the big kiss!
We have a problem with the mentality of the team-some players probably think some others aren’t good enough and Le prof should invest in the squad. But the shit is they supposed big players are just big players by name(hype). they want the mediocre players to improve while they regress themselves. I am really amazed and impressed with young Jack. He brings it!

  3. gambon

Thats the problem, Wenger loves piling up loads of cheap players, but is scared to sign high quality players. Its all about quantity with him, not quality.

  4. pharo9ja

these bunch are not hungry. Imagine if we had won or game with say 4 goals…and then chelsea lost?
oh well, lets see what happens on tuesday and wednesday. Chelsea will definately tear fulham a new one. can’t say that much for us though.

  5. Queen of Suburbia

Sorry what are you rambling about Malta boy? I can’t understand your poor grasp of the English language?

I’ve supported Arsenal 30 years you pathetic little Spud. That means before Wenger and will do so after Wenger.

I don’t need to ask you the same question though, do I? Its not a case of will you support Arsenal after Wenger because you’ve never supported Arsenal in the first place.

Now Fuck off back to the other footballing brains of Malta. You little pricked goat herder.

  6. Wenger the liar

I am guessing you are talking about Cesc. I am not judging him until I have seen him play “injury” free for a while before I say his hearts not in it.

On the flip side, although I agree with your point, I can see why he would get disheartened playing with some players who, lets be honest, are a bit shite. This is made worse in his eyes than any other players because of the fact that when hes with his spanish buddies he is beating the worlds best national teams, yet here he cant beat WBA!

So even though I wouldnt agree with that behaviour from cesc, on £xxx, xxx a week, I do understand it after this amount of time.

  7. zeus

Queston s why has Arsene become so enamored with tippy tappy footy.

He created the best side in PL history. Don’t fix whats not broken. Barca get away with it cuz La Liga is a tippy tappy league, that won’t cut it in the prem.

He had the best prototype of a gr8 side, surely just try to replicate that, thats all Fergie has ever done. Width and pacy with a good striker (yes a bit more complicated than that, but give me a bit of leeway)

  8. Queen of Suburbia

Spot on Kev. That’s the big dilemna with Theo. He either needs to be in full flight with space to run into or he needs our creative midfield to spot his movement.

That said, 18 months ago you might have said only the former applied, so that shows his game is developing.

  9. pharo9ja

yep WTL, but not only cesc we can include arshavin in that group. Walcott is shit though, same as Bedtner (sorry Rohan)and denilson(oops QOS). Song has shit on him sometimes

  10. yangkamp10

Walcott was not ineffectual today because he didnt get given the ball in good positions?!?!
That makes it sound like his poor game was the fault of everyone else.
his game was poor becuase when faced with a defence that were not going to give him space or be caught out by his raw pace – he didn’t have anything else in his arsenal to impose himself. runs into dead ends and being brushed aside by 2nd rate defenders does not a TH14 make. He is average guys face it. Against slow defenders and with space he can kill you, but you wont win titles with player who need a set of conditions to have a good game

  11. yangkamp10

QOS, his game might be improving but you cant teach an old dog new tricks. And in football development terms he is an old dog.
The skills required to beat players without the use of pace is learnt early doors or not at all.

  12. Queen of Suburbia

Is it true that the average IQ in Malta is just 9?

The sum total of your footballing insight is Diaby is a r****d, Wenger is French. So forgive me, but i can’t take your footballing knowledge seriously. Probably not your fault though…I mean who is are you going to learn from in Malta?

    Your favourite goat?

The best side in the PL history had
TH14-The best striker in the world
DB10-The best player on the planet
PV4-The most complete midfielder in the world

    And many other quality players

Wenger’s current side has two WC players and others are playing only because of being French or shit
    like D***by

  14. Queen of Suburbia

yangkamp he hit the bar (twice) although one was a fluke. I’d say he still looked the most likely to score even though he wasnt playing well.

Arsha should have played him in, on about 75mins.

  15. pharo9ja

some one came on here to twist what wenger said at his post match interview. c’mon guys u’re making me have to defend the bloke but really some of us really stoop soo low to convince people to join the hate wagon!typical.

  16. Kushagra India

Zeus’I think blaming on tippy tappa is wrong the problem is some players don’t perform at that level consistently to make this football work and tippy tappa works best when you have gr8 strikers .Spain won feck all before the rise of Villa and Torres. In Euro 2008 Torres had half of a chance and he killed the game so the problems rum much deeper than that because Barca have breezed past English sides recently now Madrid will do the same

  17. SUGA3

twisting what? I typed what I have heard on ATVO, straight out of the horse’s mouth 😉

    all the same some-back-from-injuries-some-playing-midweek lines!

  18. yangkamp10

point taken. I know he has talent, finishing improving etc. But the time taken to hit the bar twice and run into a good postion for Arsha to not play him in, is at the most 1-2 minutes. the remaining 92 was running into nowhere, getting brushed off the ball and standing around while barstipes went up and won headers.
He is not good enough for that position in a team that seriously wants to win the league. Does he make the Chav’s first team? The Mancs?
A 60K player? Not in my eyes

  19. Gooby

arshavin was very effective when he came on, it was like he wanted to prove a point and that’s good.

we wasted the opportunity to gain 3 points and get closer to the top like mancs did.

now i hope RvP will reach his best form quickly and we’ll be able to see a
    nasri-cesc-arshavin-RvP line up

  20. Queen of suburbia

I think he gets in uniteds team to be fair and in and around chelsea’s. I’ve never really seen the wages link, I think they are all overpaid, but I think he got that contract as much for marketability as anything else.

6 goals so far this season suggests he’s a fully fledged premiership level player at 21. Hopefully he can kick on and become world class.

  21. yangkamp10

We need to speed up our transition from defence to attack if we want to win the league. That doesnt just mean having quick players but also playing quick football.
How many times have you seen us counter attack and then pass backwards to play positional football, let the defence get into position, then give it away again with a shite latteral?
The last good side we had passed it quickly through the midfield to get the ball into the possession of deadly attackers who knew where the goal was, had the skill to get in behind defenders and WANTED to shoot and score.
The change in our attacking game began when we gave the responsiblity of conducting our attacks to Cesc when Henry left…yeah i said it.

  22. zeus

Trying to remember that Ajax but can’t. Even so, if your right, a balance still has to be found. Tippy Tappy don’t work in the Prem I feel. Even the masters of the art, Cuntalona, would be hard pressed to replicate that week in and out in the PL.

A balance has to be made. At present we lack the directness, width and all around pace that the Invincibles had.

  23. yangkamp10

Just fed up because today for me was the day that i realised we are yet again going to come up short. Happens at some point every season since 2004. Well at least we’re taking the CC seriously this year. Perhaps even moreso now.

  24. kev

bale and walcott are similar in my opinion in that they need space to be effective. the only reason bale ripped inter a new one in both games was because inter gave him the freedom of the pitch. bale has no tricks either really does he? he basically relys on his pace and power to beat his man the same as theo and hes now being hyped up as the next big thing. so whats the difference between the two? nothing really only bale can cross

  25. SUGA3

one game (I think), as it was not a case of violent conduct 😉

special music dedication for a certain Frenchman 😆

  26. DaleDaGooner

my rant… For 6 years Arsene has depended TOO much on Cesc Fabregas. It shows when he plays like shit, it shows when a team has him closed out and frustrated, it shows when he is injured. This year, he wants out. Also, time to see if Szczesny is the real deal or get a better goalie. Time to invest in a works class influencial , available, non-crock striker to mix it with the squad strikers. Maybe we should just put in an offer for Torres, or Dzeko or Suarez, grow some balls Arsene! We are a one man team! Reina Torres would do us better, at least Mr Fabregas junior might think twice about leaving.

so far the only good thing to come out of this season is JACKIE and KOCEILNY

jackie has more heart then them all bar cesc vermaelen yes cesc was very poor today but he is our best player

as for fabianksi the whole keeper saga is down to wengers fucking stobborness in the summer and the last 3 windows prior to that

the crowd were there usualy shit again, i know there are tiny pockets of proper fans scattered around our souless home, but in general we don not have that 12th man like some teams do

any team whos fans cheer andy carrol falling down when there is 3 mins on the clock while losing confirms this to me

    fucking bollocks

  28. zeus

We were woeful. Fabregas was wearing a Newcastle kit beneath his Arsenal one. Never did I think it possible that he could mis-place so many passes in one game. Is he injured or heart not in it? No one knows.

Fabianski was solid more or less. Was he at fault for the goal? Slightly. No one else seems to agree with me but this is my opinion on the matter.

Long ball over the top is played in to Carroll, ABSOLUTELY NONE of our boys pick him up and I think only Clichy or Kozzer react to his movement on goal late. The ball hangs in the air for an eternity, Fabianski has every right to come and claim it.
When he goes up though, he does it in a ‘cowardly’ but not accepting that a body check was coming from Carroll mid-air. He tried to claim while only getting minimal contact but Carroll beat him in the air and its in the back of the net.

I’m of the opinion that had he been braver and take the hit, the cunty ref would’ve cautioned Carroll as refs protect Goalies a lot.

We needed more impetus in the attack, RVP came on pretty early in the 2nd to replace Chamakh, Nasri, our best player, got a knock and couldn’t quite run it off , was replaced by AA23 who himself didn’t do too much.

Bendtner replaced Wilshere and did little as well.

Not many agreed with me when I said Kozzer had his worst game in Arsenal colors as well but the normal dominating in the air was not on show today. Given a torrid time when N/castle did get forward. Misstimed a few long balls that put undue pressure on our defence, not the most commanding display from him.

1st half N/castle was killing us on thepossession count which was surprising. Overall we hit the post twice, Fab4 freekick & Walcott effort, but we were shit and lethargic and got exactly what a shit performance deserves.

  29. This is England

Mark the atmosphere is a big problem the main one in my opinion is that people dont get to their seats until the game is starting.I also wish the club would stop lying about the attendance.

  30. zeus

Don’t understand the library mentally @ the Emirates. We have proper away fans to rival any in Europe.

How hard can it be to seat all the away fans in the North Bank and have them sing from minute one to 90 as they do away from home.

That should have been priority number one on the ‘Arsenalisation’ list.

  31. choy

    We need a no.1 striker.

RVP needs to go, we cannot depend on him anymore.

We create so many chances but have nothing to show fore it.

  32. stonroy

You know even if we had a Drogba or an Andy Carroll Wenger’s soft style would take the edge out of any player. He’s just lost the edge because his job is so secure. People need to start holding him accountable based ONLY on results.

  33. kev

+1 stonroy. lots of fans will never question arsene because hes helping us make a profit every season. last i checked his job was to win games/titles

  34. Robin's Choco Leg Special

    evening all,

well the game was a shocker today and it seemed no one turned up. In the clock end by the away support the atmosphere was shite and it felt like all the season ticket supporters stayed at home and all the mugs on red exchange turned up.

Newcastle fans were top draw and they had a glut of songs… all the clock end bashed out was “arrrrrsen-al, arrrrsen-al’ & “come on arsenal, come on arsenal’.. They (goerdies) even sang “you’ve only got one song” and “your support is fucking shit”.. too which we retorted ‘who are ya?’ and ‘we’ve only got one song’ …

It seems like no fuckers turned up today even the fans.. When some of us tried to get some of the player songs going it was silent.. I’m not sure if it was because i was surrounded by miserable cunts or by people who don’t know the songs..

The knob stewards didn’t help telling us to sit down every 2 minutes!

It’s looking like another horrible november and with an away day at wolves in the cold and wet on wednesday it looks like the recent form may continue.

Fabregas was crap, but on top of that he couldn’t rally or lead the troops. Always been a poor captain in my opinion and everything about the performance lacked urgency, application, desire and focus.. You’d expect a reaction after the poor show in the ukraine, this performance was probably worse.

Only wilshire really comes out with any credit.

Walcott needs to stop talking like charlie big bullocks.. Everytime the cunt opens his mouth in the media it’s followed by a ‘mare.. He is a terrible wide man with no tricks or skill at getting past fullbacks what so ever. If the kick and run isn’t working theo is utter wank.

Cesc was shite. No fight, leadership, bottle, nothing. He actually jogged about like a fat gay bloke who’d just had his nails done and was feeling “precious”.

Fabianski’s only sin was not going for that ball with the intention of taking everything. He shat himself before jumping for it. It was a mistake though and 1 that’s cost us three points.

Chamackh is not an option A frontman. Unless it’s 10 yards from goal, slap bang in the middle with no defenders around he refuses to shoot. He hasn’t any individual flare or greedy goal getters streak that we need. Looked absolutely fucking useless today and the “new signing” gloss has worn off… Looked shite the last couple of weeks.. Working hard doesn’t make you a gifted, top player in my book. Robbie savage works harder…

Only positive today was that liverpool beat chelsea to make the table standings not too much of an eyesore. But, really wenger needs to give these players a kick up rthe arse and the board need to give wenger one.. Because it’s de ja vu all over again with nothing more than a Gallic shrug of the shoulders at the moment from our players and manager..

  35. stonroy

We’re turning into a development training ground for quality players (Ajax) instead of a trophy winning force. I fear our priorities are all wrong. Moving grounds screwed up what is important (winning trophies) and we can’t seem to find our way back. My question is, at what point do we say that we’re financially safe enough to make winning trophies our number one priority again?

  36. Limestonegunner

I didn’t see a lot of tippy tappy. I saw in the second half lots of high or long balls from the center of the field into the box. Very strange, not many ideas and un-Arsenal style. Bad substitutions, and out of form Cesc, for whatever reasons or combination of them. I didn’t want him to stRt today. Wilshere was very good though not as sharp as before the suspension. Should have been his show or Rosicky’s to run, especially in the second half.

  37. kev

haha RCLS nice one! good read there cant really disagree with any of it – especially the kick up the arse bit. my personal preference would be to dock players wages for shoddy performances like that. the only thing players these days seem to understand is money so hit em where it hurts i say

I hate tippy tappy football when its played by 2nd rate players.

  40. Pedro

Zeus, it would be a logistical nightmare…

What they should look to do is make a large terraced areas, get three times the number of people in there and subsidise the cost like they do in Germany.

  42. David

Honestly i dont understand why JD was dropped.

He played a blinder at Shakhter and he is very strong in the air against the likes of Amoebi and Carrol

Song playing as our creative midfielder, No JD, Flappy strikes again, awful team selection, NO plan B,

If i had to bet my house on how we conceded it would either be a set-piece or Route one ball where some Arsenal play inadvertently drops a clanger.

    Same ol Same ol,

  43. chozzer

RCLS, I think it’s only one (see below).
Your summary of the players and in stadium atmosphere is spot on. I can’t even get excited about Chelski losing.
Perhaps a win against Wolves will lift up, but I won’t hold my breath.
What a complete and utter load of bollocks that was today.

  44. David

Well as far as Cesc body language,

I wonder if he thinks to himself “why must i always do things myself” kind of attitude.

He’d have a very strong point.

  45. Limestonegunner

Rohan, I agree. Cesc isn’t himself for a variety of reasons perhaps. He isn’t the vocal leader type but he didn’t show leadership by example either. He gets easily irritated and almost got a second yellow.

What is worse from my perspective is that there isn’t anyone else capable of such leadership. RvP is just coming back; Vermaelen is out; JW is too young; and so many of our senior players are just not those types of players or personalities.

This is a problem with the squad for the moment.

  46. Man

David, I thought Song made more ‘creative’ or penetrative passes than Cesc…he is growing into the role.

Cesc played badly, he knows he is playing badly and he is disappointed in himself. That might explain his body language. He’ll play out of the bad form, he is the only ‘world class’ player we have.

  47. zeus

Getting standing terraces seems a bigger nightmare to me.

This guy at least likes to get in behind. Shite league though.

  48. Rohan

A fit RvP for me is the obvious choice for captain. Cesc is a great player, but when the chips are down, when the troops need rallying, his head seems to drop too.

  49. Limestonegunner

Rohan, I thought he did a good job last year at Stoke when Ramsey was assaulted by Shawcross. We also had some senior people like Sol Campbell, but Cesc’s head doesn’t drop when he is playing well, I think.

David, yes, but Cesc was also letting things get to him versus West Ham too.

I think Wilshere might have had the best game. I want to see him in a more forward role. We are having trouble penetrating defenses and he and Nasri seem the best at doing this right now.

  50. kev

in the early days we had loads of big personalities around – proper leaders. adams keown viera petit henry etc. who have we got now? i wouldnt count VP a true leader likewise cesc (who was only given the captaincy to keep him happy and at the club IMO). verm is the closest thing we have to a genuine captain but im not even 100% sure about him. the lack of strong leaders is a major problem i think – none of our players are vocal enough

  51. David

First Song is a CB, then he’s a DM, now he’s a Central attacking midfielder.

It seemed to me wilshere was doing ALL the defensive duties.

Why not take off Song for Rosicky?

Its just a wierd day at the office with an even weirder team selection and even most weird substitutions.

Jack and Nasri were easily our best players.

And since we resorted to Long ball situations…it wouldve made perfect sense to put Bendy and Chamakh on for some height in there but i dont know anything about football so i’ll be quiet.

  52. David

The ref at WestHam was a c8nt as well.

Parker got away with murder all over the park

Since moving to the Emirates we have NEVER struggled like this at home.

  53. Ja_Gunner

As many have said before…for tight games…we need a deadly striker who takes advantage..even if he gets only half chances…We dont have anybody like that…and dont say RVP cuz he is never available….he will probably get injured in the friendly coming up soon….

Also in tight games we need to use counterattacking possiblities well….We do ocassionally…
BUt the fact is most times when we get opportunities to counter….we slow the game down looking for safe passes….its infuriating sometimes a counter attack is the only way you score..

Also again setpieces….We dont have quality set piece takers…..I mean even Blackpool scored a direct freekick the other day…….

We had a cluster of 3 last year and none ever since..That one Cesc scored against Aston villa last year was a total fluke it seems..because he cant reproduce it….

Right now I would have Nasri or Denilson take free kicks over Cesc…RVP delivers good corners..but he has not scored a direct free kick in ages….for a team that is supposed to be so technically gifted…we are ultra poor in dead ball situations….

  54. Rohan

Does anyone know for sure that Wenger’s been shagging this so called mistress. If he’s been separated from his wife, I really don’t see the problem.

  55. kev

wilshere is wasted in a defensive type role in my opinion. i think hed do a much better job further forward. weve seen already this season how good he can be around the oppositions goal so why have him doing songs job? makes no sense to me

  58. Man

David, I think Song is a bigger goal threat than Rosicky and Rosicky, I’m sure, is penned in to start against Wolves. Of course, with his injury record he is limited to the number of matches he can play a week.

I though the team that started were good enough to beat Newcastle, the subs came on earlier than usual…they simply didn’t perform. Whether they are good enough is an entirely different debate.

Since you mentioned the ‘creative’ player one I think falls under that category is David Silva. I’ve been impressed by him this season almost as impressed as watching Nasri.

    PEDRO & GEOFF ! ! !

PLEASE CAN YOU FRAME! “Robin’s Choco Leg Special”

Robin’s Choco Leg SpeciaL his comment at 8:35 NEEDS TO BE FRAMED

i am soo pissed of today… really is the same old arsenal.. no consistancy… consistancy makes champions

  62. kev

ahhhhh stop trying to blag your way into the first team rohan! ball boy for me – wooohooo! a life long dream fulfilled!

  63. Robin's Choco Leg Special

reading the notw on the way to the game on the tube gave me sort of feeling that we’d romp them today.

There i was thinking from the sport section inwards that van persie was fit, theo was the bullox and we were starting to look like we might have a go at the title if liverpool could do us a favour…

read the front and i thought carroll and nolan had been on the sniff, taking on hookers in spit roasts on 14 hr sessions… Could be a good day this…

On closer inspection only the ladies were on sniff, carroll was the only one at it and arsene is “allegedly” playing away from his wife (incredibly beautiful btw) with some woman who waited his table with a face none too inviting.. The only conclusion I could come to was that wenger is french (mistress much?!) and she probably whispered she loves it up the arse whilst tied up in a japanese school girls outfit…

Still…. By the end of the day I came to the conclusion that this arsenal team are still 3 top quality signings from being any sort of a threat when the big trophies ar handed out and newcastle are actually half decent with a good group of players, some of quality who work for each other and implement game plans well set by their manager.

Funny, we’ll give our manager what ever contract he wants and yet has done liitle of note in recent times to warrant his curent pay rate. Whilst, our visitors are in jeopardy of losing the manager who has taken them up, as champions and are now curently sitting 5th in the prem having just beaten arsenal..

  64. Samir

GSTAR. WTF? Not even in the team…What will you do without my great pace on the wings? Im even faster than Walcot 😉

  65. Robin's Choco Leg Special

    cheers kev 😉

    Let’s look forward..

If we look at the table its:

    Chelsea PL 11 Pts 25
    Man U PL 11 Pts 23
    Arsenal PL 11 Pts 20
    Citeh PL 11 Pts 20

Chelseas aura of invincibility has been cracked a little bit and a derby at home against fulham throws up “possible draw” down the pub debates… A game i really expect them to win (“bouncebackability”, sign of champions etc etc) but might get excited if the update on the mobile has chelsea 1 behind..

Man U are actually starting to look dangerous. Despite the Rooney nonsense and perceived lack of squad quality they haven’t actually lost this season, still… Men separated from the boys ‘test’ on wednesday, mind…

IMO, City & Liverpool have without a doubt had the biggest results this weekend as far as the table goes. Liverpool will probably just start to think that 4th isn’t an outrageous probability. Would take 1 of the current top 4 to have a mare, but they’ll be happy to just get any european spot and go again alot stronger in the summer with a year under hodgson and with the new ownership at the helm.
City will think title with the money they’ve spent in opposition to thinking 4th, which is probably their biggest sin at the moment.. Nobody quite knows what to make of them still.. The derby could make or break their season.

Tottenham could turn out to be a massive 6 pointer if we come away with our tails between our legs from molineux… Our away boys have always been excellent.. Let’s just hope the players turn up aswell…

I’ve just been asked by a diehard long time Gooner AKB who would replace the ‘Great Man’. In his opinion he can stay forever !

Who would be on the 5 man list for long term replacement ???

  67. Doublegooner

I’ve just been questioned by a long term Gooner diehard AKB in scarcy way who would I replace Wenger with.

Lets get the top 5 going here who would add flair, disclipine & a proper mi of steel with the technical ability..

  68. Robin's Choco Leg Special

doublegooner – if i put down names, who i thought were serious contenders on here, without a mammouth explanation to accompany the names, i’d be hung, drawn and quarterd…

  69. Doublegooner

Bollock to evryone. Lets list names & see what we come up with.

Its a fair question from the AKB’s when we are seriously questioning Wenger, because this man won’t change a thing.

  70. A

Depends if you came out with the likes of Martin O’Neil RCLS!

If Wenger was to go then I dunno who i’d want, would have to be a big big name, someone like Hiddink I guess, although it’d be much better for the future of the club if Wenger succeeded this season, and Bergkamp/Bould take over and keep going in the same way, develop wilshere/theo/ramsey/bendtner/vela/jet etc etc along with nasri/vp/cesc/vermy/koscielny as the more experienced core

  71. Rohan

There’s only one Thierry Henry. Think he’d be a great coach. Intelligent, articulate, charming, bit of a nasty streak.
Oh fuck, just realized he was a shit captain. Sorry.

Bergkamp has to be the one. If only we could get one of those supersonic coaches to get him around Europe. 😀

  72. Lurch LeRouge

    Haha. Thats funny. Shareholder. Lol.

If that were true I’d reinstate dein in a fuckin sparrows heartbeat.

Can’t believe the lost opportunity to close the gap.

  73. Lurch LeRouge

Get bergkamp and hire a double for European nights. Let his no2 do the teamttalk.

    It worked for sadam Hussein!

  74. Robin's Choco Leg Special

good manager with good record is big sam.. Too friendly with sir alex and no european experience counts against him but, being an english club, it’s a risk i’d consider..

We give chance to english manager to step up and get chance to manage at highest level. big sam get’s to put his money where his mouth is..

    Likelihood: spectacular failure.

IMO, I think wenger has assembled a very strong basis for a squad, but they need kicking on and based on recent evidence it’s all a bit to comfortable for alot of those players. I’m seriously starting to doubt they can take that next step. Too much persistance with alot of the same old gripes.. Need a change …

  75. Paulinho

It’s bullshit to make decisions on managers because of our fabled youth system. Wilshere is the only decent youngster we have and Owen Coyle proved you don’t have to a some philosophical french twat to manage him.

Bring Hiddink and purge the whole lot of these clowns that infest our squad. Eastmond, Denilson, Diaby, Chamakh, Bendtner et al.

Last thing we want is for Bouldy or someone of low status to continue this doomed youth culture bullshit that’s going precisley nowhere. Bring in a top guy completely separate from all this mythical nonsense that Wenger has created and so many fans fall for.

  76. Robin's Choco Leg Special

it would actually be fascinating to see who plays for arsenal and who played for arsene if he left..

  77. Ricky

We’ll another flop performance & another day of wasted money.

Speaking of hiddink, how i’d love a hiddink/bergkamp managment team right now.

On that note i’ll go to bed & dream of the glory days.

  78. Robin's Choco Leg Special

Paulinho – to be fair Hiddink might actaully come in and fancy a couple of those players, you don’t know. Plus they might be there because it’s more arsenal than arsene especially in the case of eastmond.

He’d done alright last season when he featured and because wenger threw him in the deep end away at shaktar, where he had a mare, doesn’t mean he should be completely written off. Out of his depth yes, but he’s hardly played..

Arsene is making us expect things off of players at 17-21, we should really be expecting off of 22-25 year olds. It’s an absolute shambles if i’m honest… We don’t have experienced top quality with that vital battle hardened winning mentality..

It’s a collection of kids, journeymen and over paid, spoilt young players.

  79. Man

I’m glad I’m not the only one to see the gaps in chelsea’s game. Hodgson did and took full advantage. I just hope other teams in the league see it now.

  80. Lurch LeRouge

Wengers man management leaves too much to be desired. I’d be moderately satisfied if he just fucked off and left the squad intact. A descent motivator would get better results from our squad.

  81. Robin's Choco Leg Special

how clichy’s contract is up for debate i do not know.. He’s not exactly cpvered himself in the glory the last couple of seasons. i don’t see how his performances and achievements have warranted a payrise to the amounts reported…

same can be said for about 80% of the current 1st team squad aswell.. Arsenal must the the only place your rewarded for medicority and false dawns..

hold up, we are known as the bank of england club aren’t we.. Go figure!

  82. Robin's Choco Leg Special

song of the day (sincerest apologies ladies):

he shoots, he scores, he breaks your fucking jaw, andy carroll, andy carroll’

  83. A

RCLS Clichy’s contract is up for debate because it’s coming into the last two years! The club needs to protect it’s assets, it has NOTHING to do with how well he’s playing, or any sort of reward for his performance, it’s that the club don’t want to lose him against it’s will, or if they choose to sell, they want to get as much as possible from it.

Every player worth anything coming towards the end of his contract like that will have the club trying to extend it.

    Happens at every club everywhere!

And why would you put up a song celebrating the player that brought us down, that’s just weird. Sometimes it really does feel on here like it’s a blog of whoever we’re coming up against, or a Spud blog. It used to be that fans of a club supported the team/players/manager and opposition fans took the piss or abused the team/players/manager. It’s become very very blurred.

A great number of a teams’ supporters now seem to immediately assume the worst, if there’s any doubt over anything then they’ll go on the side against whoever it is associated with the club etc etc, it’s all very skewed

  84. Doublegooner

    Thanks guys for the suggestions,

All theobvious ones, but highly respectable.

Anyone think Joachim Low could do anything ?

In years to come I think Vieira will be a better option with Keown in the future than TH14.

TH14 will be too emotional. Pat will be ruthless.

In the meantime Hiddink is the man for the next 2 years.

  85. Robin's Choco Leg Special

So because my son of the day was the carroll one suddenly this is not really an arsenal blog, i’m a closet spud/geordie and this blog in general has become one where such people congregate is it A?

And to defend myself, the song did bring a smirk of meriment after he scored. The geordie fans sang for the full 90 and were a credit to their side. Their better song’s i can’t quite remember.

Song of the day wasn’t exactly going to be ‘asenal, by far the greatest team, the world has ever seen’ is it?

  86. Lurch LeRouge

Lowe could do a job. Still prefer hiddink. Not sure past legends are the way forward. Prefer managers with no baggage from being an ex pro.
