Song… Dowd … Clichy … Rosicky … Ohhhh bugger. Report and Ratings

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Where to start, where to start?

Ultimately, in the immediate aftermath I felt a lot of rage. I sat there and watched last week in amazement as the ref for the United vs Everton game blew up just as it looked liked Everton might score on a counter attack. Yesterday, I watched Sunderland take a corner in 94th minute, have it cleared… only to be allowed to have another crack at scoring, which they did.

I hate to blame the referee. I find it incredibly dull reading headlines from bloggers all over the web talking about this big underground conspiracy against Arsenal because we have foreigners playing for us, but on this occasion, I’m absolutely livid about the performance of Dowd who was so incredibly inept all game, I wondered if he was on the take?

We’ll take this back to the start… because though the result was stolen from us, we can’t pin all of this on Phil.

The team shaped up the same as it did for the previous game. Chamakh led the line up top with Jack retaining his place in the middle of the park with Cesc and Song.

Arsenal were immediately on the back foot with Sunderland pressing well and playing at a much higher tempo than us. Cesc chased after a lost cause down the other end, Anton Ferdinand larruped it, Cesc flew a speculative foot out to block the shot, the ball connected and sailed towards goal, over the keepers head, into the top corner! What a goal! Even Chelsea, the kings of the deflection must have looked on with envy at that little beauty! Steve Bruce’s face, taut through mass over eating looked close to bursting on the sidelines.

The bitter-sweet of that goal was that our Captain damaged himself in the process and had to come off ten minutes later with a suspected hamstring strain. I spoke to my pal in the know and without any concrete news, he suspects the substitution was precautionary.

Sunderland were undeterred and continued to pressure us. They went close with a missed header in the 6 yard box. Marlbranque tried to win a penalty by running into Kozzer and a little later, Bent tried to con the referee in the same way.

Jack Wilshere was guilty of losing the ball in a sloppy manner on 3-4 occasions. He needs to keep it simple when things aren’t going well, not try to do ever more daring things and lose possession.

Almunia was having a solid game in goal coming for crosses and generally proving to be safe pair of hands. Song was showing careless disregard for playing within the rules.  He was powering around making needless fouls and needed to be careful after picking up a booking for his third or fourth stupid challenge. Clichy was having another bad game, I tweeted that he was due his customary ‘Senderos’ moment

The second half started and we needed to improve on what was mainly,  just a solid defensive display. Almost immediately Jack was played in but fluffed his lines. Then Rosicky did well to dance through the Sunderland midfield passing to Song in space who slipped Arshavin in who misfired wide.

That was Song’s last contribution to the game. He body checked a Sunderland player and gained a second yellow. Some say it was harsh, I’d say it was deserved when you consider the previous he’d had in the game.

Now we really were on the back foot, and for 30 minutes.

What really did rankle with me was the unpunished challenge Bramble made on Jack Wilshere. That didn’t even receive a yellow card? There were countless other worse fouls from Sunderland players that also went unpunished. Shocking inconsistency.

Bent blazed over after a well worked corner, Clichy had to make a goal line headed clearance, we were struggling. The Frenchman was continuing to expose his poor form by getting caught out of position, making sloppy passes, getting the wrong side of his man and slipping over. It was worrying how much the Mackems were getting from corners.

We were fighting though and looking dangerous going forward. All our players were working tirelessly and the centre back pairing were looking very solid.

We went up the other end, Nasri tried to work his into the Sunderland box and he was tripped. Penalty. Surely game over?

Interestingly, Rosicky stepped up to take the spot kick. He took a long run up and smashed it Alan Shearer-esque… over the bar. Terrible for a player of his calibre. A miss that you felt really fired up the home crowd. I’d hope Chamakh takes them in future…

Gyan came on from the bench and immediately had Almunia off his line making a clearance. Up the other end Denilson’s strike just went wide. In the last minute, they won a corner, we cleared it… the ref surely had to blow, he didn’t, Zenden puts the ball in the box, Clichy tries to clear with his right foot, makes a hash… Sunderland fire home.

Deflated… disgusted with the referee. Gutted…

I can’t sit here and pretend we deserved our 3 points for being the dominant side. However, I thought we showed bundles of fight and character today. Key players who needed to show their mettle more than did so and we battled hard for 30minutes against a good team with only ten men.

To lose a goal in 95th minute was a real deflating moment. I think it was so unjust, that it will have the reverse effect on our players. We’ll come back against WBA (I doubt many first teamers will be out for Spurs) on a mission! Us against the world!

Still, the fact is, we shouldn’t have needed a referee to win the match today. Song should have been more professional in the middle of the park. Getting yourself sent off for silly unnecessary challenges is very immature. Rosicky should have placed that penalty and Clichy really shouldn’t be making elementary mistakes like that at his age.

Still, there are loads of positives to take from today and like someone pointed out yesterday, we’ve taken 4 points from Blackburn and Sunderland away… last season, we took a total of zero. I think it’s also pertinent to point out that by the final whistle, we were missing RvP, Cesc, Ramsey, Vermaelen, Walcott and Bendtner. Tell me anyone in the top 4 who could have the equivalent of half their first team out and play as well as we have been?

It all bodes well… Rambo is kicking a ball in training, Nik B is close to a return and shortly after that we’ll see Theo and Robin… all in time for Christmas rush!

Ratings:

Almunia: He did everything well today. He looked a safe pair of hands at the back and delivered every time he was called upon to make a decision. Too many people are going overboard about his performance, much in the same way fans of Song do when he makes a 12 yard pass (SLA’s: Song Lovers Association). If Seaman had played like that, you’d call it standard. Al plays like that, people are talking about him as the next Spanish number 1. Take one game at a time. Draw some perspective. He’s doing no more than what is expected. 8

Clichy: The criticism of Clichy has been here for the best part of two years, however, I feel it’s all of a sudden gone mainstream and people are going overboard. According to people in the know, Clichy is well aware he’s been playing badly, so he’s not in a Fabianski world of denial. His mistakes seem to be getting more and more frequent. His positional sense is way off kilter and he’s making fundamental errors he shouldn’t be. Lets not throw the baby out with the bath water though. The guy tries his heart out for Arsenal and he’s never looked for a move when he easily could have. He needs to be rested, Gibbs needs to come in for a bit. His mistake cost us 2 points today… however, he’s not solely to blame. 4

Sagna: A solid performance from our right back. He’s looking very powerful at the back these days and his delivery is getting better. 7

Squillaci: Slipped in the back door and into the team virtually unnoticed. His positional sense is excellent, he reads the game incredibly well and he never finds himself on the end of skinning. His integration has been seamless and I prefer him to Gallas. His partnership with Kozzer was excellent today as was his battling performance. 8

Kozzer: I’m really taking a shine to this chap. He’s made two high profile errors so far but he hasn’t let them phase him in the slightest. Today he was putting his foot in at every chance, he’ll place his head on anything he can get close to and again, he reads the game far better than Willy G or Kolo ever did. He’s an incredibly hard worker in training as well. We’ve got a class act on our hands here. 8

Song: I’m not his biggest fan and today he demonstrated perfectly why. He isn’t agile enough or quick enough to play against speedy opposition. All his fouls were unnecessary and a result of poor positioning. His passing wasn’t great and he needs to get it into his head that he’s supposed to sit in front of the defence, not be our creative force up the other end. 4

Nasri: He helped win us a penalty but was largely anonymous in the first half. He improved with the second and he has plenty about his game. I just wish he’d impose his character on the team a little more when the chips are down. 6.5

Cesc: Great goal. Gutted he went off injured. Hoping it’s not serious! 7

Wilshere: Needs to cut out that sloppy play when things aren’t going well for him. He improved with  the game, he just has a tendency to go a little Hollywood when he’s not playing well. He’s improving though and I like seeing his name on the team sheet. He definitely gives us an edge. 6

Arshavin: When you’re receiving poor service it’s pretty difficult to make an impact on a game. I thought he threw his weight around well, trying to involve himself in the game. Ultimately, not his day. 6

Chamakh: A hard fought performance from everyone’s favourite Moroccan. He battled, he defended, he chased lost causes, he involved himself when it would have been easier not to. He is everything Nik B should want to become. 7.5

Subs:

Rosicky: Came on and played really well. He looked sharp until he stepped up and blazed and ugly penalty over the bar. Costly. 7

Denilson: I thought he looked good when he game on. He was more direct than usual and very attack minded. He’ll be fresh for the Spurs game next week. 6.5

P.S. I heard that Carlos Vela was hammered in training on Friday by the players regarding the tranny story in the Sun. Everyone was ripping into him, led by Sagna. The story was a load of rubbish apparently (There weren’t 15 hookers) and Wenger won’t be taking any action against the Mexican. The spirit within the Arsenal camp is apparently fantastic and everyone is getting on!

Good to hear!

    Kosceinly isnt a gem.

    Gems dont cost 10m.

Ok Wenger couldve made a substitution and we could wasted time and killed out the clock like a decent manager wouldve done but wtf is the point in Pat Rice?

  2. Pedro

Why don’t gems cost £10million? Arshavin cost £13mill and he’s a gem as well.

Why does Pat Rice get the blame here? I saw United throw away a 2 goal lead last week… is he a poor manager as well?

  3. David

    Mayank

Cant for the life of me understand why you brought up Vermy.

Arshavin is the exception not the rule.

    Especially for an attacking player.

Doesnt look right to compare the price of a defender to an attacker.

I blame pat Rice for not getting off his arse and shouting at someone…anyone…suggest a substitution…heck scream at the 4th officail that time is up.

    DO SOMETHING

  4. Mayank

Why, didn’t Verm cost <10m or even Vidic?

I can understand if you don't rate Kos, but if it's because of his pricetag then that's stupid.

  5. Rohan

Koscielny is god’s answer to the heir of Maldini. I’m tempted to say he might even be better than Vermaelen and a cb combo of Koscielny and Squillaci is the way to go.

  6. Pedro

David, how do you now Pat Rice didn’t suggest a sub? How do you know a sub wouldn’t have resulted in the same outcome?

Still don’t understand why Kos can’t be a gem? Since when did price define being a gem? Vermaelen was also a gem…

  7. David

Its all to reminiscent of our collapse of the game at Birgmingham away last year.

Nasri all alone 1-1 with the keeper.

Rosicky couldnt hit the target to save his life.

Matter of fact i dont remember when hes had a shot on target.

The this team is set up. We refuse to take our chances because we create so many.

And that backfires when we dont create any.

  8. David

    Mayank

I still dont understand why you brought up Vermy?

Vidic is the exception and not the fucking rule.

Christ. Who else would you like to mention?

    You cant can you?

    Thought so.

  9. Mayank

That is true, we aren’t taking our chances well, but it wasn’t like any match last year. We were a man down away without our best players and under constant pressure. I actually don’t remember the last time we defended so calmly.

  10. A

7 points at this stage of the season is fuck all, especially when you look at the fixtures.

Chelsea look good, but havn’t had a single tricky game so far. We’ve had three and dropped points in two. We’ll see how they do when they have a tough run of games.

Is a huge match though, a win for us would be massive

  11. el tel

So I suppose us the lemmings still believe the self imposed best league in the WORLD is the Premier League.

Well it looks today like the title has already been won and we have only played 5 games.

Best League in the WORLD, Rooney one of the best players in the WORLD. Fucking deluded thats what.

  12. David

Well Pedro i dont know what Pat Rice does…especially on the touchline.

You dont think subbing on a player like JD to play DM in the final minutes to hold a lead wouldve made much of a difference?

  13. A

Noone can know David, and to blame Pat Rice for either the lack of a sub or the fact the ref played over the allotted time is just laughable.

People having a go at Pat Rice just show how desperate some fans are to attack everything Arsenal, with absolutely not rationale behind it

  14. David

Pique was a gem in the premier league.

    As was Lucio?

    *cough*

All of the players Wenger bought?

Your right…in that ancient time 10m must have seemed like todays 40m.

  15. David

Nobody is desperate to attack anything A,

    Stop fabricating nonesense.

I asked what the point was in Pat Rice

and apparently you dont know the answer to that either.

  16. el tel

Oh we have 50 million to spend as of today. Well how fucking appropiate as one the window is closed and two there isn’t a player worth 20 million left for us to sign as everyone else signed the star men already.

  17. gambon

Expecting us to outscore chelsea by 8 points would be naive in the extreme.

Hopefully they drop points to City, but if they are 7 clear of us after we play them we would be huge underdogs.

  18. A

The people saying that he should retire etc David have been attacking him for a while.

It’s like attacking the physios for shawcross breaking ramsey’s leg, along with all the other impact injuries we’ve had.

Everyone is DESPERATE to blame someone, and now rather than outside influences the negativity means that someone internally is blamed.

The point in Pat Rice is the same point as every assistant manager, primarily behind the scenes and on the training ground.

  19. Mayank

What are you on about, if you don’t rate Kos then say it and justify it.
Pique and Lucio are WC and CL winners both cost less than 10m
Verm and Vidic are 2 of the prem’s best defenders both cost < 10m

I don't think Pires, Vieira, Gilberto, Edu, Toure would've cost more than 12-13m even in todays climate.

  20. A

gambon we’re 5 games into the season, saying that anything is decided because of 7 points is ridiculously naive, and can only be done if one completely ignores anything that’s happened before.

If Utd hadn’t gotten the late goal today it would’ve been 6 points for them, would that have been that then for them too?!

A team that’s double figures behind after about 20 games could be said to be huge underdogs

  21. pantsR2long

I know it’s early in the season but I think it’s obvious that Chelsea are just on a different level than the rest of the EPL. I hope I get proved wrong when we play them and we smash em 4-0 but I think the best we can hope for is second. Pessimistic I know, but watching them, you can just see how ruthless they are, I wouldn’t be surprised if they score in all their matches this year, can’t see any defense in the league keeping a clean sheet against them.

  22. David

    Mayank

Are you saying you would have pique on the Arsenal team because he’s a WC and CL winner?

Would you also have Busquets as well?

  23. el tel

Maybe if the darlings from Chavski lose a couple of those great strikers of theirs to injury like we seem to get then they might not score.

Come on their confidence is high at the moment and they haven’t played the great Sams Blackburn yet, he will tactically outwit the Chavs no doubt about it.

A is right they haven’t had a team to play yet who would give them a fight. Lets hope we give them what for.

  24. Pedro

Tel, it is the best league in the world, what sort of a statement is that? Title already over? Opposed to what… in Spain where you know for a fact it’s between two teams?

League over in September… that’ll be a first.

  25. el tel

As I have said before we will play our biggest rivals with players short so can anyone please comment on who will be missing due to suspension?

I reckon Cesc is a cert but does Songs sending off exclude him too?

  26. kev

in my opinion to have a good chance of winning the pl were gonna have to get 4 points against chelsea and 4 against united. and even then knowing us well slip up against fucking blackpool or wigan or something

  27. Stu

What points did Koscielny cost us? I cant think of any. UNless you count Clichy hitting him with the ball yesterday which is hardly LKs fault.

  28. Pedro

Jaap Stam cost United the Carling Cup final in his first game and was also accused of lacking pace. He went on to become a beast.

I think Kos will be a top player for us. Seems like a fast learner and he looks like he appreciates the chance he’s been given.

  29. voodoo-priest

you must be out of your mind with that asessment of Song… he should have been careful after the first yellow but maybe we have to look at the other midfielders that were around him and ask yourself “why was Song the only one at war with opposition and where was the other midfield players?”

yes he should have been careful or hell he probably should have been changed but don’t pin the lose on him when somebody missed a penalty, when wilshere was in a contest of stray passing and some of the other midfielders were in and out of the match.

a referee makes sure we loose two points and you blame Song for getting a red card when one of the incidents shouldn’t have even been a yellow incident.

    Song was reckless my arse.
he did what we expect of him and maybe we didn’t get the best out of him on the day but we had eleven players who did a superb job on the day but for some cunt of a ref deciding we didnt deserve the three point..

  30. sixxpac

early days yet? Funny you should say that. Remember people saying Utd got the better mexican after a couple WC games.

Where has he cost us points. Please tell

  31. Pedro

Voodoo, read the post again. I placed the blame in many areas.

Song was reckless, you’re probably the only person who has said he wasn’t…

Pinning it solely on the ref is weak…

  32. David

    Sorry i went overboard there.

    We didnt lose any points.

But he did get shoved aside by an ageing Elhadji Djouff

and he had an unbelievable backheader assist.

    Not being too critical.

    Its just early days yet.

  33. el tel

    Pedro

It certainly isn’t the best league in the world, it might be the most exciting and yes you can point to Real and Barca winning the titles but they don’t batter every team by massive scorelines.

We have some terible players and rubbish teams making up the numbers in the Prem.

Too many teams get relegated so it causes panic and I know you will disagree but the league is as crooked if not more so than the Italian League was before they decided to sort out the problem.

Before anyone attacks back who would have thought Cricket and Snooker was bent?

  34. David

    Mayank

I wouldnt have Pique anywhere my team.

    He’s average at best.

You find him in attack more than you find him defending anyways.

  35. pantsR2long

    @ Voodoo

Eleven players who did a superb job?

I must have been watching a different game because I remember Clichy, Song and Rosicky playing and they were far from superb, in fact Song and Clichy were diabolical.

  36. Pedro

David, I think the sign of a potential good player is how well the learn from their errors.

Really, he shouldn’t have been playing so soon… but he’s been thrown in at the deep end and has done a better job than I thought he would.

I told you that the training staff reckon he’ll be a better player than Vermaelen… hopefully they’ll be right.

Jury is still out though… lets see where we are at Christmas.

  37. gambon

I would say both leagues are pretty even.

Barca & Chelsea are the 2 best teams, who would i back in a match between the 2? I think its be very close.

    Ditto Utd & Real.

  38. Stu

I dont think Pique is average. He was easily the best defender in the CL when Barca won it imo. He is a calm defender and usually in the right place. Having said that though, he is a prick and can break his leg for all i care. Barca cunt!

  39. Patthegooner

I actually took some hope from the Chavski game today.

They were quite open at the back, and Blackpool created a lot of scoring chances against them and very good ones too.

The league is definately not over. Chavski do look good but lets see how they do next weekend against Man City and the following week against us. If they get 6 points from those two games.

  40. arsenal4ever

@ el tel: We have bidden 18 mill or so for Reina, fact. Even Pedro and Geoff said it. I wouldnt exclude such bid as Wenger is under real preasure if 50 mill transfer kitty is shown from arse.com. But I think Marin rumours are more of truth. We will see. Hopefully money will spent and wisely. GK should be the first target. Cant see Alm the whole season that good and he needs competition. Flapianski just not good enough and will never be. Chelsea not that good imo. They didnt have a real test yet.

  41. Mayank

El Tel, everyone knew cricket was bent. Most of my family stopped watching cricket because of it.

I read that the reason there aren’t any thumping scorelines in Spain is because of some sort of respect the oppo thing they have.

I do agree it not a forgone conclusion that the PL is the best like many make out, but the same is true for La Liga.

  42. Pedro

El Tel, there has never been any rumour or evidence to support the Premier League being bent, unlike snooker and cricket that have always been tainted with rumour.

Our players earn too much for that. Maybe a few spread bets for throw ins… but I highly doubt anything major has happened.

The Premier League has loads of quality and I think it’s a far stronger league than the Spanish one.

You’re wrong about the goals as well… Barca scored 98 last year, Madrid scored 102… 3rd place scored 59.

Their league isn’t competitive at all and there are plenty of rubbish players over there as well.

  43. el tel

Song just can’t win can he, if he doesn’t put his foot in he is shit if he mixes it he is shit too.

The sort of fouls Song was supposedly giving away were far less than the ones we never got in the midfield area yesterday, especially the first half and the first booking was given for a foul on an invisible person or rather for the fact that Song actually complained about fouling the invisible person.

FFS I saw 5 Bolton players get hands on with the ref and 4th Official against Blackburn last week without a booking. Davies was one of them anf that wa after he commited assault twice on our players. Am I paranoid for stating the FACTS. Go check the video evidence, yet Wenger willsurely be charged for the sneaky camera they leave on him for shoving the 4th Official yesterday.

    Fucking Racist cunting league.

  44. kev

id imagine if you took the top 6 from england and the top 6 from spain and paired them up overall spain would come out on top. just my opinion though

  45. sixxpac

I actually think Kos is better suited to us than verm at the moment. Verm is quite erratic. He loses his head quite often and goes for balls in midfield that he wont get to. Squillaci just cant be dropped

  46. Pedro

    Kev, I don’t think so.

Madrid and Barca would compete but I think once you go past 2nd in La Liga, we’d be far stronger.

  47. el tel

    Pedro

I am not saying the players are bent I am saying the Owners and FA are bent, they are high power people who would be hard to get into.

The Mancs were winning nothing for 3 years in a row so David Gill takes over from Dein and they win 3 in a row with an average side.

13 own goals last year was also extraordinary imo even if it wasn’t enough to win them the league. One of them goals I think it was against Bolton should have brought on an inquiry imo.

  48. David

Cant say that Pique is the best defender when Barca and most especially Pique always get done by the long ball.

How do you think they lost to Rubin Kazzan?

    Pedro

    I certainly hope so!

  49. Stu

    Chelsea – Barca
    United – real
    Arsenal – sevilla?
    man city –
    liverpool –

Who pairs up with who> Atletico, Valencia and who else is left to represent La liga and the prem?

  50. sixxpac

I think when most talk about the Epl being the best they mean in entertainment value. I’m def not watching the Spanish league if Barca or Madrid arent playing.

  51. Pedro

El Tel, their team wasn’t average. It made it to two Champions League finals and won one of them and sold Ronaldo for £80million.

    Far from average…

  52. Pedro

Sixx Pac… we’ve got just as much quality as Spain.

Barca are out there on their own, Madrid are alright, but not amazing… bar that, it’s not great. Tactically they all seem to be very naive.

  53. arsenal4ever

I thought gambon is african 🙂 lol!! all should stop with this rasism shit. we are talking about our beloved arsenal.

  54. el tel

My Racism comment is nothing to do with Song but to do with Arsenal.

Read what most reporters write and find the word Frenchman followed after Wengers name. Everyone that attacked Wenger last week were English guys and even yourself Pedro has said that Gerrard Rooney and Terry are given a different agenda when bookings and sending offs are concerned especially when diving is raised as a subject. I never said the league is racist but some of the stuff going on stinks. Read Pat Collins in the Mail today he writes brilliantly also look for the match report and find in there a comment about Frenchman Wengers 50th sending off being written.

  55. arsenal4ever

I want Pedro from Barca in our team but that wont happen. A swap plus money for Cesc in future? If Guardiola will take over after Wenger retires I can see some barca players coming to us just for a new challenge.

  56. Mayank

Pedro, apart from last year it takes 80 points to win the La Liga on average and 90 to win the PL. You can take out 5 years averages if you’re into that sorta thing.

  57. el tel

The Racism comment was nothing to do with your dislike of Song or Africans. I was referring to The Arsenal being called a French club and thats why imo we get treated unfairly.

Why is it the Spanish League mentioned and not the Italian or German leagues or even the French league for that matter.

  58. Pedro

El Tel, I put players nationality into comments, it saves have to write the persons name again.

Arsene Wenger felt aggrieved at the Song decision, it was the Frenchman’s 50th red card.

    It’s not racism…

England players might get preferential treatment by refs… is that racism? Or familiarity?

  59. Pedro

Tel, I don’t have dislike for African player. I just tell it is as I see it. No one is calling me a racist for giving Clichy a poor mark.

I didn’t mention the other leagues becuase in the coefficients the top two are England and Spain.

  60. el tel

No wonder Wengers words get twisted to suit. I never mentioned Song getting sent of because Dowd is racist I never said the league is racist I meant we are seen as a French team in an English league by far to many people outside of The Arsenal.

  61. el tel

    Pedro

Tell me when I called YOU a racist, I said you don’t like Song that was all. I don’t like Almunia or Clichy does that make me racist too.

Feruson is a Jock, I have no idea how many sending offs there have been in his reign and they don’t write Ferguson the Scot or Scotsman or whatever you want to call it.

Using English Managers to gang up on the Frenchman is not familiarity it is also a kind of bullying.

Maybe you think Man u are better than average but some pretty ropey players have won trophies playing for them.

You did well in naming the good players though.

  62. kev

just going by stus pairings the top two would be close id fancy chelsea to take barca real would have the edge on utd we should take sevilla if city and valencia were paired id fancy valencia and athletico would take liverpool. thats what i think would happen anyway

  63. Pedro

“The Racism comment was nothing to do with your dislike of Song or Africans.”

My dislike of Africans intimates I have an irrational dislike of a whole continent.

  64. el tel

Chavski won’t beat Barca as they are not the big team they like to think they are until they win the European Cup.

    Barca will get the decisions.

Lol, why does every Song debate get reduced to accusations of racism.
    ——————
    Because your a wife-beatin, ethnic minority-hatin, moonshine-drinkin redneck?

Seriously though, I dont think your racist dude. I just think your deluded, is all 🙂

  66. kev

hard to know. then you have villareal deportivo who have improved and mallorca who made the europa league but werent allowed compete because of financial problems. they could be paired against the likes of the spuds everton and villa.

  67. el tel

I just checked back what I said about Racism and I mentioned nobody on this website. I mentioned the Leegue.

My point was regarding Song getting booked for telling the Ref he didn’t foul anyone then about Wenger getting pointed out with video evidence. Nothing to do with colour or Africans but to do with them not being English.

The only thing that I said that could be attributed to anyone on this site is that Song can’t win however he plays. If he gets stuck in and gets sent off he is wrong if he doesn’t put the effort in he is also wrong. Not about Racism about him being an disliked player.

By the way I still blame the clown for conceding the goal yesterday, beaten on his near post again, when will he ever get on one of these shots and make a wonder save. Yes a wonder save was needed but he never pulled it off did he.

  68. TransylvanianGunner

We have a good fixture, after WBA we have CFC, who will loss or draw with the Northen chavs :D, of course we beat them at Stamford Brige, and the story ends with the top of the table.
    :))

    Pedro

I agree about Clichy and have been on his case for years mate. He is a liability.

The Kos was covering him brilliantly yesterday and one of our best players AA23 gets stick for not covering him.

Other sides have targeted him for years now and Pires who hardly made a tackle in his career wasn’t slagged off for not covering Cashley as Cashley unfortunately is a good player.

  70. zeus

Pique scored a cracker of a goal. Looked more like a CF the cunt.

And Messi went over on his ankle, could be out for a few weeks. Karma is a bitch.

  71. el tel

Messi should have stayed over here last week and played at the Marshes. A much safer place to play than that Spanish butcher league.

  72. zeus

Tacle wasn’t that bad, but Messi’s momentum took him forward and while his foot planted in the ground his momentum was still pushing him forward.

  73. el tel

    6pac

He did what he should be doing. The defence gave him little in the way of shot stopping to do, he dropped a cross under pressure but fell on the ball and the only shot on target ended in the onion bag.

Oh well, lets just hope the Kos and Squiddly carry on the good work when the big boys roll into Town

  74. el tel

Got to go guys, sorry I pissed off a few and sorry Perdo if you think I called you that.

I have been in bed ill for a few days and had a freaky dream.

Here goes, we get the Spuds in CLSF. First leg we win 6-1.

2nd leg gets abandoned after 30 minutes when we go 3-1 up and the morons tear up The Grove, they attack thier own players who are sent on to plea with them to stop and they put twitchy in hospital, He leaves the Spuds along with most of their players. We go to the final against Barca. They get banned from CL and put the nation to shame. There was some bad news the reason the riot took place was because Huddlestone intentionally breaks Cescs leg and celebrates in front of his mob like he has scored the CL Final winning goal. Cesc leaves for Barca and Huddlestone is banned for life.

I have no idea if we win the CL without Cesc.

Strangest dream I have ever had and yes I was ill.

  75. zeus

Kozzer and TV5 are too similar I think. Will be interesting to see how Wenger manages to pick the centre halves when all are fit.

I like the Kozzer, attacker of the ball, Squillaci, mops up behind combo we have going on now.

But, none of the 3 has played well in a big game yet, in fact the new recruits haven’tplayed in a big game for us yet (except Liverppol – Kozzer).

Those games will be the true acid test.

  76. zeus

At least its his right ankle and not the sweet left foot.

Any up for grabs now fans on here? For the life of me I can’t remember what they say ‘budget’ means.

  77. Arsene Nose Best

Well, well, fucking well,The flat track bullys really are a bunch of cunts,WENGER OUT.The same shit will continue all because wenger doesn’t have good enough players.

  78. AA23

    B.B.K
you know a point up at that shithole aint bad. they will nick points off a lot of sides.
gutted the way it happened but still a lot of good things about the game.
    Calm down mate.

  79. Rohan

Bendtner would have scored yesterday. FACT!!
He has a knack for scoring in games like these. Any idea when he’ll be back. With a fit squad, our options from the bench are frightening.

  80. alex

‘I have been training with the ball for a week now, and I am enjoying it a lot. It feels like a very big step forward to me, and I see light at the end of the tunnel.

‘We have made a plan, regarding my comeback, but I want to keep the dates to myself. But it will be in near future even though I am not quite there yet.’

where’s he gonna play though? on the wing again or super sub?

  81. Rohan

And just for gags I want to see a front 3 of RvP Bendtner and Chamakh. That’s the most physical, and big front 3 that’s ever been put out.

  82. Stu

Nasri ahead of THeo on the right wing? No chance?

As for VP. Its gonna be interesting to see how Wenger deals with the dilema of who to play CF, especially given Chamakhs great form this season.

  83. Stu

Fuck that looks painful! Its a good think the contact wasnt made higher up the leg or it could have been a break. In fairness to Ujfalusi though it looked like he was just trying to trip Messi rather than stamp on him like that.

  84. denis

Lol i try to do a team that can win games…

Im not sure Jet in a playmaker role would be good…
And regarding JD… he is 2 weak !
I think we ll finish 2nd this year and we ll win the cup !
Our squad is really competitive !

  85. Rohan

We could throw in Mark Randall to break some ankles along the way. Either way, we aren’t a bunch of softies anymore, we can mix it up physically if needed which is great.
Can’t wait for the Chav game..we’ll do them and we’ll do them in style.

  86. Stu

Weak how? JD is one of our biggest players.

We will win the league if we keep the majority of the squad fit…assuming the injured ones arent our best players of course.

  87. zeus

    Okay

I take it back. That was a bad tackle. Honestly when I saw the replay over and over, it appeared that he tripped Messi but Messi went over on his leg.

Never saw that dude went in on Messi’s ankle. Agree with Stu though, dude meant to trip Messi but got it wrong. Messi loves to ride a challenge and does it very well.

  88. zeus

How big an idiot is Mascherano though, came on in injury time and still got a yellow card.

The thuggery of the PL will not be tolerated in Spain.

  89. zeus

    On Messi’s ankle injury………………………

Despite Ujfalusi picking up a second yellow card for the tackle, Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola was critical of referee David Fernández Borbalán.
“We are happy with the win but sad about Messi,” said Guardiola at a post-match news conference.
“In principle, a fracture is ruled out which was what was worrying us. Tomorrow we’ll do some tests and they’ll tell us how he is.”
“The TV pictures speak for themselves. It is not only Cristiano Ronaldo who needs protecting. The referees should protect all the players.”
    ******************************

Lucky he doesn’t work in England, Pep would’ve been mauled by Pulis, Arry, and told by the Walrus that he is a better coach than him and his flimsy 6 titles in one season…….Arse.

  90. zeus

    This from the Barca website………….

The dramatic images of the world’s best player clearly in great pain being stretchered off after a vicious 92nd minute foul by Ujfalusi, who received a straight red, were quickly followed by initial medical explorations that showed ligament damage in the Argentinean’s right ankle, but no apparent break, as many fans watching the game must have feared.

    Guardiola: “he’s in tears”

Pep Guardiola spoke of his star’s injury after the game: “he’ll be having more tests tomorrow, but in principle a break has been ruled out. He’s injured and the doctors will tell us how he is. Let’s hope the first diagnosis is correct and we can help get him fit again. He’s very said and in tears. These things happen in football”.
    **************************
Vicious?…… Let Arsenal try this shit even once. At times I wish we played in Spain.

  91. denis

its not a team based on size but a team based on power !
And footballing ability is always a priority…
To know how to be on the pitch
To know when you have to tackle
To know when you have move for the offside trap…
… Thats footballing ability… and JD is weak regarding footballing ability!

  92. zeus

Guardiola was tight lipped about Ujfalusi’s foul and called on reporters to show responsibility: “the pictures of the incident speak for themselves I imagine. I’d ask you to show responsibility about these kinds of things. This isn’t something new, it’s been going on for a while – look, if there is proof and it looks suspicious…”.

  93. Rohan

Koscielny will be one of Wenger’s best ever buys as far as I’m concerned. He looks like an absolute beast. Continues like this, he’ll be our very own Tony Adams.

  94. alex

Wenger should just stop giving interviews to Sky like fergie does to bbc, then they won’t be able to twist his words

and ban their reporters from press conferences

  95. zeus

I know this video has been posted already, but I am just trying to show something. Whenever Kozzer goes up for a header, just look behind.

Squillaci is ALWAYS behind him just in case Kozzer misses the ball, which is never. Its Squillaci plus 1 for me as both Kozzer and Verminator are too similar.
