Arsene has identified a problem with defence this season says Ivan, defence, really?

by & filed under Uncategorized.

No sh*t Sherlock, a problem with defence eh? Even a blind man using a rats arse as a wedding ring could see that, we on here have been saying it since we started Le Grove. Amazing, we have had jerk after AKB jerk on asking us if we know more than Arsene or are we scouts, well if it’s taken this many transfer windows to identify we concede too many goals, and defence is the problem, then yes to both questions.

I find it staggering that Ivan and Arsene announce it like they have just discovered the meaning of life, never a bigger statement of the obvious have I ever heard, we need to address the defensive issue! So what do we do first? Oh yeah, we sign a striker.

Not that I’m against a striker as we do have a forward line of crocks and it will be at least 6 months until Benik Afobe and Luke Freeman are ready, but the real issues we have at Arsenal are at centre back and more pressing at goal keeping, but if the manager thinks that Fabianski played well against Fulham, then I fear he hasn’t seen the real issue with our goal conceding problem. The crap keepers.

Also we need a defensive midfielder that can defend, has pace and will be as immense as Patrick was in his day. We need at least one winger, remember them Arsene, let me jog your memory, Overmars, Pires, Freddie and Reyes, now they were the last proper wingers we had and when we had them, we won things, coincidence, you work it out. And please no SWP on the cheap, he’s too old and not even good enough for England.

Theo is not a winger and nor is Vela, Arshavin or Bendtner, address these issues Ivan and maybe we’ll start to see some success, buying Silvestre did nothing but cost us money, keeping Senderos did nothing but lose us points, stop doing everything on the cheap and go out and buy some decent players.

I also keep hearing from Gazidas that Wenger will re-sign, I don’t care about that Ivan, I’m more concerned that we compete for four trophies next season and buy in some talent, I don’t care if Wenger signs or not, we did Ok before he arrived and we’ll do Ok when he’s gone, there are plenty of decent managers out there, plenty.

It’s funny, the very first Le Grove post was the day that Wenger signed a new contract and we were all delighted, how sad that his intransigence and obsession has led us to this, I’m fed up with being so negative but how many windows come and go with disappointment, I’m just fed up with it, and all we get from Arsenal is how clever they are with our debt, buying players doesn’t make you go tits up Ivan, buying players for silly money does though, as does paying average players crazy wages, and we have more than enough of them.

If we aren’t going to compete for 4 trophies next season, either buy us the squad we need to, or give me a rebate on my season tickets, I’m not that bothered about the Champions league, we’ll never win it anyway, let’s go for a domestic cup and with our best players, if you haven’t got enough of them, then go and buy some.

Oh and for those of you who said Cameron was a toff and Clegg was a working class boy, Clegg went to Cambridge and Cameron went to Oxford, so in theory we have an educated line up, a bit like the Arsenal eh! Who ever you wanted to win the election, at least it’s over and we can get back to speculating about the players we are about to buy.

Have a nice day Grovers, Pedro is back for the next few days and no doubt he’ll be more cheerful than me.

    Small world.
my mums side of the family was raised in
    Powder Springs.
Got Cousins still living in Marietta.
Been Arsenal since the early 80’s
grew up in south london among palace, qpr and liverpool fans.
mums a staunch chelsea fan, dads a charlton mark.
He took me to a few games in the late 70’s but i fucking hated it, he still tells his boring mates about me doing somersaults over the terrace bars instead of watching the game.
mum still gives me grief about being Arsenal and not a chav, she took me to a few games back in the day as well, silly bitch gives it the large one to this day, even more so lately and she still gets to the odd game, one of my close mates (big fat jew chav) took her to the west ham game at their dive a little while back, he said she whinged the whole time even though they smashed them 4-1.
The old man gave it up a long time ago, would you fancy going to see Charlton?
I still give the fat cunt grief though, plastic wanker doesnt even get to games.

Arsene has identified a problem with defence this season says Ivan, defence, really?
NO it really isnt .. the problem has been a shit keeper
    and shit striker options !

we didnt put enough games to bed in the 1st half and thats not because of poor defense ! its due to no clinical edge in front of goal Vs the attempts we make !

our conversion rate compared to the amount of opportunities we create , is in the shit ..

and if by defense you mean we have a shit keeper ..
    then agreed arsene ..

but if the truth is to be known .. TV – GALLAS and sol have done well .. in most games they did a sound enough job ..

its just up the other end , when you need to turn a game with a goal or 2 in the 1st half …

we scored more in the last 10 minutes than any other team this season …

if thats not a problem in the STRIKE department then what the fuck is ?????

  9. ethangunner

if your strikers dont do the business all season your only inviting pressure on the defense !

get your head out your ass wenger ..
gallas and TV are probably the best combo youve had in a while ..

i would possibly look to replace gallas at 32 .. but knowing wenger he will get in a 20 year old wonder kid to take the mantle and phase gallas out over this next coming season …

unless gallas does a pires and doesnt accept wengers deal .

is he buried in the footings ?

The problem is we have a shite defense…and most of the goals we concede on the left flank with Clichy having to do all the defending by himself because Arshy cant be arsed.

Yes the GK is shite but we can pin point games where he cocked up and you cant blame all 41 goals on the keeper.

Denilson is responsible for a couple of goals. So is Shitvestre…these things add up.

I would hope we get Yaya Toure and a CB. And we’ll be lifting a trophy.

I’d also tempt liverpool with a 30m bid for Torres.

  12. David

I hope everyone who has been clamoring for Hangeland can now stfu now.

He’s shite. Way to put your team out of a European Final.

  13. bnsb

    Good Morning early birds!

our conversion rate compared to the amount of opportunities we create , is in the shit ..

I share your opinion on that! Our strikers let us down more often than not.

  14. gnarleygeorge9

El Mundo Deportivo report this morning that Fabregas “has told friends and family that he has come to a four-year agreement with Barcelona and hopes to leave Arsenal before the World Cup.”

  15. MickyDidIt89

    Morning all,
Was going through you tube clips of Chamakh, and to me he looks like a very good buy, and may well turn into a great, Certainly has some fight about him. What worries me most, is where will AW play him. Personally, I dont think we have the players for a 4-3-3, and assuming Chamakh goes central, RVP is simply out of position on the right. We have too many players that are more suited to the 4-4-2. Bendy, Chamakh, RVP, AA.
If we dp persist with the 4-3-3 AND sell Cesc, I would like to see AA in the advanced centre mid position.

  17. gambon

If we go and spend Β£50m, then recoup it all by selling cesc, therefore spending nothing yet again, Arsene should walk before he’s fucking lynched.

Selling Cesc & signing a rplacement liek Gourcuff for Β£25m wouldnt be a problem, but we all know that wont happen if cesc goes.

  18. ethangunner

if cesc does leave , what a boot in the face that is …

just like i said it would years ago ..

we train up cesc making him great , only for the 1st season we see him as GREAT , ends up being his last ..

what a fucking waste of time project youth is !

every single fucking asset we sell off ..

or cant hold on too !

every captain cant wait to leave , because we make them captain as we are scared they will leave !

dont make TV our new captain .

  19. Pat

Myles Palmer wrote an article in which he sounded pretty sure Milner will go to United. Ha, I hope its true. He’s a very limited player and does not impress me one bit.

    “JAMES MILNER to Manchester United.

That makes sense. When Darren Fletcher is your best midfielder, you need to buy.

On March 27, when I was watching Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge, and they were on their way to losing 7-1, I was thinking : James Milner should go to a team that plays good football.

    Now he has.

Good for him. I like Milner and really hope he has a solid, lucky World Cup.”

  20. gnarleygeorge9

For 5 years now Arsene Wenger/The Board has been able to brush off threats to his/their tenure because of the luxury of having Cesc & the old chestnut of having to pay off “the loan”.

  21. ethangunner

i think the arteta rumors are real ..
i think he’s OK … but to replace cesc ?

    what is arsene thinking ?
why is he still thinking spanish ?

them cunts are just itching to make themselves great so spanish clubs are interested in them again !

be interesting what happens to torres ?

    man U anyone ?

  22. Pat

To be completely honest Gambon, Wilshere has been just as good as Milner in CM since he went to Bolton!

So no, he’s not a great player. He’s versatile though, a handy squad player. Not a class winger and not a class CM. Just plain out average.

  23. ethangunner

i must admit ive been a bit pissed off at cesc ever since he let his future plans to return home out of the bag !

the constant flirting with Barca ..
i dont know how you can wear a captains arm band and still wish to leave at some point ..

with loyalty like that , you can see how far we still need to go .. before this club gets some passion and spirit return into the ranks ..

  24. gambon

    Diaby & Denilson are average.

Milner was in the team of the year, is going to the world cup & is improvingyear on year.

He’s quite limited in some aspects, but his attitude & drive are something all teams, us especially, could do with.

He would be ideal for UTD, who value these things. Arsene only values silly little triangle passes with no end product.

  25. gambon

We dont have enough english players in the squad/team.

If you fill a team with foreigners of course they will want to leave at some point. None of them are Arsenal fans, and most of them dont want to spend their whole career in London.

  26. gnarleygeorge9

Its got me phucked really. What is the attraction of that shite hole called spain? And don’t tell me sun & sea.

  27. Queen of Suburbia

Milner is an improving player for sure, but i wouldn’t say great.

Its been an open secret for ages that Milner is off to United. It was the reason a few weeks ago that O’Neill nearly walked. Β£20m+ by all accounts which is a lot of money for someone thats only really been at the top level for 6-12 months.

  28. Queen of Suburbia

Ethan, to be fair Cesc has consistently denied those rumours even on camera.

As i say though, El Mundo is a rag, they print lies all the time, I don’t think we need to worry for a while.

why would anyone want to live in a 3rd world country like spain 😎
    hehehe i thought you mean’t London πŸ™‚

  30. gnarleygeorge9

    Milner to Manure

with the new rules about local players, once again SAF is getting the jump on old Wenger.

  31. gambon

If you look at it from Cescs point of view there are very few reasons to stay other than loyalty, which we all have to hope he feels.

  32. ethangunner

i think from the look on his face this season , we all knew time was running out …

thats all ill say for the moment .. as its just goss and hear say ..

but i did say he will go the end of the season ..
but i suppose that mini chance we had prior to the barca leg , gave us hope he would stay on …

    obviously not .

hence wenger knows he has money to spend ..

  33. Duke

Late again, it’s like the 3rd time this month, if you worked at my office you would have been fired…

  34. kelsey

I could give you a hundred reasons that people chose to live in Spain, me being one of one million, though the country is at this moment of time in free fall.

  35. ethangunner

hey GG will be going home in august !
my old mans in a bad way ..

so will be settling there for a while !

if your over in perth me olde bean look me up

  36. gnarleygeorge9

Thats no good ethan, but I’ll check the roster to see if the Tiges play @ Subiaco.

My family are off up to Phuket for 2 weeks in 2 weeks. I have to work.

  37. ethangunner

i know the advantages of living in a nice warm country and having little or no income tax to pay , you can see the obvious draws there !..

even more so if you had to leave spain because we wernt good enough .. only to become good and WANT go back home ..

  38. Queen of Suburbia

Looking at the accounts, i’d say there is money to spend without selling Cesc, Ethan.

I must admit, it cross my mind as the season collapsed that Cesc was probably sitting there thinking,

“I’ve played with a broken leg to keep this lot in the title race, i’ve literally carried it on my back, and now Diaby is ambling about like he’s going to fetch the morning paper!”

I still can’t see him going this summer though, he needs to win the PL CL double next season first!
