Well done for having your own minds, booing the whore was the highlight of the day.

by & filed under Uncategorized.

At least we only need a point for third, the most entertaining thing that happened in 90 minutes yesterday was welcoming back Paddy and booing the Togo Twat, whilst watching his embarrassing grin.

Well no match report today, this is a Geoff post, Pedro is out having fun!

Well that was about as uninteresting as a game can get, one team comes to defend and hit on the break, the other shows no ambition, and has a side bet that it can get through 90 minutes and only have 3 shots, if there were more I must have missed them.

We are told that Bendtner is the reason we didn’t make a signing in the window and we leave him on the bench, go figure, I can’t! Him and Robin starting may have caused them problems early on, ho-hum. So what happened?

Crab, crab, crab, crab and Denilson wasn’t even playing.

Fabianski had nothing to do , so that was a relief, I thought Sol Campbell was again immense, Song, Nasri and Robin were okay, Theo and Silvestre may as well have not turned up and once again the crossing from the full backs was woeful.

Excitement happened when it got close to the predictable 67 minute substitutions, but this time Wenger threw everybody by making two substitutions at once, I’m sure Mancini thought this was an amazing tactic. An ‘I wasn’t expecting that’ moment.

The down side was Given looks screwed and that could have an impact on the signing we all hoped for in Joe Hart, it won’t because City will sign a Buffon or a Lloris, and anyway, if we are going to sign a keeper it will be a Rami Shaban type, or someone as clueless as Almunia or Fabianski.

So the spuds lost and we drew, with the spuds and the northern chavs having to play each other it guarantees us at least 4th, but all we now need is a point to get third and with Blackburn away and Fulham at home, one would have thought we can get that.

I would love it though if Villa could sneak up and pip them both, that would be sweet.

Still for all of you that may be disappointed with winning nothing this year don’t be, because we won the European balance sheet trophy, the youngest squad trophy, the highest paid average squad trophy and finally the Great mental strength trophy, it may not be what you wanted but take heart that at least our manager got even richer in a recession.

Hey, don’t forget we get a new kit this summer, so even if we sign no-one of note, and we will (sign no-one of note), we get to buy a new home kit and ensure the money continues to flow into the Royal Bank of Arsenal.

A word of caution though Ivan, the loudspeaker may have said 60,000 were there, but anyone with a decent set of minces could see that there weren’t.

You can fool some of the people, some of the time, you can even fool all of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time, and if you continue to keep up the stingyness, then there is no doubt you will reap what you sow.

Have a great Domingo Grovers, only 2 more weeks to go, enjoy it whilst you can.

Wenger said recently Song hasnt been moved to CB yet because he lacks sharpness there. He doesnt have the reflexes or something because he has been playing DM for so long.

  2. Keyser

Man – We’ve never had the chance, we haven’t put an unchanged side out more than once in like 2 seasons.

If you’re constantly changing players around you either have to give them seasons together to build up the understandings or it just will never happen.

It’s balance and consistency, the top teams in any league will either have their best players fit or an abundance of experience.

Nowadays that either takes time or huge amounts of money, sometimes both.

  3. Stu

IMO Messi isnt as fast as he appears. Most of his pace is his acceleration. He moves away from players so fast they have no chance to catch him so give up.

Notice he said “he hasnt the reflexes…yet”

To me that suggests he may be earmarked for the role.

He has said previously that Song in his opinion will be a CB as well, once at the shareholders Q&A.

  5. Swedish Gun

    djourou,gallas,campbell,clichy,denilson,diaby,rosicky,v.persie

all of the above will get injured next season IF they are still here

  6. Stu

Wenger has always maintained that Song wil be a CB longterm. We just have no idea when thats happen. I dont think he should be moved back now, especially after the progress he has made in midfield.

If he does get moved back then we will definately need to buy at least 1 DM because otherwise we’ll be left with just Denilson.

Yes. That defensive work no one puts in for us at the mo apart from Song. Song is a smarter footballer I would agree, and it would makes sense to get a G. Silva or Redondo type, but those players aren’t exactly lying down on every street corner are they?

BTW, would you rather Melo or Flamini?

  8. Man

Keyser, we are not unique in suffering injuries but I understand we’ve probably suffered more than most…The chelsea team that beat Stoke wasn’t quite their first 11…
Without trying to sound ultra critical, and I’m sure you have heard this many times, we’ve ben building for a few years now so that understanding you speak of we should have…

I just feel with the handicap we had we could have been more tactically flexible than we were this season and of course discipline could have been better as well

  9. Stu

Van Persie gets put in with the others unfairly imo…especially this season. He didnt get a muscle injury like the others. Most of the injuries he gets are impact injuries. Chiellini clattered into the back of him, that cant be put down to being injury prone. Its not like he is always missing because of hamstring, calf, thigh strains.

  10. Keyser

zeus – There are players that do put it in, but then it’s down to discipline, you can’t have just one player doing it you need the whole team clued on.

Earlier in the season we had Gallas and Vermaelen together, and while it was Vermalen’s first season and a brand new partnership, they had a pretty good understanding together, and when Song sat in front and either of them moved the ball forward without thinking he’d drop into the space they left.

You need little understandings like that all over the pitch. Rosicky and Clichy used to have it, Hleb and Sagna, Flamini and Fabregas, Van Persie and Adebayor used to work well together.

    ofcos v.persie is brittle

lets say if chiellini made the same tackle on rooney or drogba, it would be chiellini with a broken foot

    sort of 🙂

didn’t v.persie break his metarsal celebrating a goal?

  12. Stu

I didnt see the tackle on vp so i cant say. It was tendon damage, thats not injury prone…its more bad luck imo.

  13. Keyser

Man – It’s like I said, either you give it time or you spend heavily, Chelsea have done both, 4-5 years is nothing really, count how many players have been playing regularly for Chelsea for 4-5 years or more and how many we can count for us and you’ll see the difference.

We’ve got players coming through and the depth is beginning to show, we still need to spend, and we need a lot of luck.

Shawcross is a massive cunt, yesterday Clichy and Richards jumped in for a ball, Richards lunged in, Clichy knew he wasn’t getting there so he decided to jump out the way.

Players like Ramsey might not have the experience and will make mistakes but against lesser teams we can rest others and give them time to heal brusises and strains.

  14. Keyser

Swedish Gun – Van Persie slid in to score the equaliser against United 3 seasons ago thats how he broke his metarsal.

I think Rooney did the same the season before sliding for the ball against Chelsea, all players get injured.

  15. Swedish Gun

    bad luck my ass 🙂

he is extremely injury prone and next season he will have some more..erhmm..bad luck

  16. Keyser

gambon – what do you think the co-incidence is/ are ?!

There’s a myriad of things you consider, look at how fine the margins are, Rooney could have his best season ever and United could still lose the title.

Is there a co-incidence that our players get their legs broken ?!

  17. Stu

Keyser, you might also have noticed Richards came off worse in that challenge and the cunting commentator said something like “I think Clichy caught him in the face”. Its ridiculous the bias against arsenal..

  18. Stu

Other players have gotten broken legs over the last few years. Alan Smith and Cisse come to mind. But its only our players who get broken legs because of malicous challenged. Smith broke his blocking a shot-bad luck. Cisse was a tangle of legs-bad luck.

But a shocking stamp on Diaby with the game basically over. A straight leg lunge shit high on Eduardo with about a minute gone. And a kids leg being smashed because Shawcross (and his team) dont know how to play football so substitute by kicking out….none of those were accidents or coincidences.

  19. Keyser

gambon – 20 games counted how ? Starts ? Appearances ? Appearances just in the Premiership ?!

He might be injury prone, but for the first 2 seasons we still had Bergkamp and Henry aswell, then we had Adebayor and Henry, Alliadiere, Baptista and a whole host of other players.

  20. Carlos

Sol for an england call up anyone?

    [flash=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bUJut5EkSk&playnext_from=TL&videos=E137mS_HN0c&feature=sub]width=425 height=350[/flash]

  21. Keyser

Stu – I’ve always said we’re too nice, people go on about Ebway diving, but fuck that I’d rather people thought twice before they went into tackles.

Also did you notice how Vieira and Toure and some of the others almost instantly started hounding Dean after any tackle, forget respect, they give us none, experience counts for a lot and even a sly word with the ref after a tackle makes the ref think twice after the next one.

  22. Keyser

Heh, I forget how quick and strong Sol used to be until the last two weeks, was it Rodeallega he completely outpaced last week ?!

  23. Swedish Gun

    true keyser

we are too nice…we should stay down a bit after each incident…point out to the ref “what the fck was that”…make him book them cnuts early

  24. Samir

We need a few more like Sol in the team….
A few more heavyweights would stop the cunts fouling us… Fuck Wengerball… Its time to win a fucking trophy and I don’t care how we win it!!!

  25. Pedro

Keyser, it’s amazing that you can defend Robin’s injury record.

    It’s appalling… there isn’t a defense for it.

He’s managed 30 games in a season once in 6 seasons. That’s a shocking record!

  26. Pedro

5 years of the same excuse… there’s no coincidence when there’s a pattern.

The best managers pick up on that pattern and address it… Wenger and his coaches seem to understand why it’s happening, yet think the benefits of over training outweigh the draw backs.

  27. Keyser

Ah dude, was wondering if I should reply tomorrow space it out, but fuck it.

Where do people get their stats from ? How has he only managed 30 games once in 6 seasons ? and of course there’s a defence for it.

  28. Jacques

Carlos that video of Sol is fantastic.

Seriously, he’s an unbelievable player. We should keep him until he decides to quit for his mentality alone.

If we could find a way to replicate his desire throughout our team we’d be unstopable.

    Utter class afaik.

  29. Jon

I for one wouldn’t have thought we’d end up so downtrodden as we near the end of the season.

I mean, if you remember the kind of vibes we had when we kick started this season, this is just plain sad. It’s either we do really well at the start, or at the end. We just can’t seem to keep the winning consistency.

And for very frustrating reasons too (goalkeeping howlers, poor defensive line up, injury woes and at-times-questionable-managerial-decisions). But I’m proud to be a Gooner through and through.

    Oh to be a Gooner!

  30. Rohan

Atleast Vermaelen is in the team. I can’t understand how Milner could win over Fabregas when he is even older than Cesc FFS….

  31. Pedro

Keyser, I picked up my stats from ESPN and there is no defence for it.

    His injury record is shocking.

It’s not his fault, but I’d argue that his fitness has been mismanaged over the last few years.
