I’ll never leave Arsenal, all my mates are here, and honest love, it is 6 inches!

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Francesc Fabregas has been talking about his new best friend Tomas Rosicky, since his old best friend Igor Hleb left the Arsenal, Cesc has become closer to Tomas.

The great thing about that is, he sees how loyal Arsenal have been to him during his hellish two years enforced break, and now that Igor has come out and said he should never left us in the first place I think Cesc knows that the grass may not be greener on the other side of the ocean.

He then went on to say how Arsenal was one big happy camp and that is showing in the way the team plays, even big Frank has likened Song to the great Peter Storey, not sure about that, but Frank was one of those saying we must spend in the summer, so either he’s been got at, or he sees some improvement.

He did officially open Highbury Square this week so you make up your own mind, I really loved Peter Storey though, he was right up there with the Billy Bremner’s of his day, if Song becomes half the player Storey was, I would be delighted. Alex, take note son!

So anyhow, the great news is that Barcelona have decided to come back in for Arshavin should they fail in their bid to get Robinho from the northern chavs. Aren’t we lucky, thanks Barca!

Isn’t it funny, IF THEY FAIL in there bid for Robinho, that means they see us as a soft touch, a homer in there search for players, the Brook Street Bureaux of football, the place they always go when they need players, come on UEFA, do something, Arsenal won’t.

It’s our own fault to be honest, everytime a player wants to leave, we let them, it’s time to enforce contracts, perhaps Ivan will do that, if not, stop extending them.

So three days to go and we can start thinking about football and the greatest team the world has ever seen again, boy this has been more boring than the summer break, at least in the summer we speculate and have a little hope each day, I think this has been the worst lay off since records began, don’t you? It seems like two months already.

Still, so far so good, no injuries, let’s hope we can get through tonight and have almost a fit squad to choose from.

Fabianski and Nasri are going back into training so that’s good news, just don’t ever ask Arsene Wenger how long you’ll be out for if you crack your leg, his 6 weeks is akin to the average blokes ‘this is 6 inches’ line to birds!

Sorry Grovers, I didn’t mean you lot! Have a great day, not long now.

a beautiful defense splitting ball by clichy to gignac who scored an absolute beauty…i think clickys pretty fukn ok now!!

  2. tomstoned

    evenin All…

just poppin in a sec…all goals will be shown at 101great goals..a little later in the evenin..Arshavins tap in is there already though…

and just one more comment on Song..that boy never shuts down, he works his ass off in every game and on the training pitch..he’s determined..he’s a real pro..when was the last time you heard that boy say a harsh word..nope he just gets going..and more impressive this year he has started to defend fellow team mates…really ; you can see it in his eyes ..he will be that sort of player you’ll never want to meet on the pitch…a beast with a mission..

    the new Socrates/Dunga….wait and see…

Thats rubbish, I know it’s not the done thing to even give Song an iota of credit, but he’s far more intelligent then people like to or want to give him credit for.

  5. patthegooner

    Dont agree with that anymore,

This time last year, I thought that incesc, but Song has improved all areas of his game, and has definitely won this gooner over

  6. patthegooner

Not at all incesc, I am happy to give credit where it is due.

Take a look at my comments about his performances this time last year. I just say it how I see it, and right now I see a good player and potentially very good player in Song.

If he was playing for any other club right now, we would be raving about him and there would be calls to sign him on here.

  7. Keyser

I don’t, I think he’s rated plenty, at the age of 26 ? he’s shown less variety and imagination in his game than Song has already, but somehow he’s held up with more regard.

  8. patthegooner

I just think he is one of those Grimandi like players that it is really to have in your squad. You always know what you will get from them, and they always put in at least a 6/10 performance.

  9. Keyser

Yeah, but then he’s not even on the level of a Parlour, I’d rate Grimandi higher, just don’t get how people could hold him in such high esteem and then make out as if theres a chasm or talent between him and Song.

It wouldn’t be much of a stretch for Song to achieve work man like status within the team and he’s shown he’s got flashes of something better aswell.

If he was playing for any other club right now, we would be raving about him and there would be calls to sign him on here.are you feeling alright, why the fuck would any club want song

  11. Stu

Lennon is fucking useless. One trick pony… its obvious what he is gonna do everytime. All he has is nippy pace, pushes it to the side of the defender and crosses it. Other than that he is shite imo.

  12. David

    Ok thanks Tom

So we survived this break. Thank God.

Liverpool are in trouble. Wish Rooney was injured till the WC.

Dzeko is the facking buzness. It doesnt matter who he plays he is going to score against you.

    What a player.

  13. Stu

Problem being that Fletcher never gets booked.

Fletcher is a runner. Thats about it. He isnt good on the ball or at reading play imo. He sees who has the ball and runs at them and just throws himself at things. Best example being the “tackle” on Arshavin at OT when we should have had a pk.

  14. Ja-Gunner

based on the Internationals..this would be my starting lineup against Birmingham…

    ……………..Manone/Al…………….

    Sagna……..Gallas…….Sylvest……..Gibbs/Clichy

    ………………….Song……………………..

    ….Cesc………………………….Diaby……..

    ..Bendy………………RVP………..Arshy……..

Sub Arshy after 60 or so……give soemone else a run out.

Cesc should be fresh because he did not play against bosnia…

Diaby should be fresh cuz he never played….

    Vermy played 2 games…so give him a rest……

Song is the only DM we have so he will have to soldier on for now…..

Against AZ Alkmaar I would rest Gallas and give Senderos a runout….we need to get him sharp..and he scored for his country so his confidence must be high…..

  15. Ja-Gunner

    Lineup for AZ

    ……………….Manone/Al……………..

    Sag/Eb……….Senderos……Vermy……..Clichy

    …………………..Song……………………

    ….Cesc………………………..Rosicky…….

    ..Bendy/Theo……………RVP…………Arshy…..

  16. A

No way regarding the centre backs Ja!! Gallas partnering Vermaelen every game unless there’s a proper injury, centre backs don’t need to be rested, it isn’t like they’re ledley king!

I agree with the rest of the team for birmingham though maybe eboue and/or gibbs in rather than sagna/clichy. Almunia keeper too.

AZ same team (sagna and clichy full backs) but Rosicky right forward rather than Bendtner

  17. Ja_Gunner

I disagree A…..Gallas had 2 teeth smashed……of course they should play most of the time…..but we need to protect them somewhat as well…..because if they end up picking up long term injuries……then we are fucked….

I say we can afford to rotate them for those 2 games….then against West Ham…..they come back together as normal…..

  18. A

Yeah if Gallas isn’t fit to play then I’d be happy for Senderos to come in for him (though rather keep silvestre as far from the team as possible!!) but Vermaelen doesn’t need a rest of any sort! The whole first team will be getting a rest in a week and a halfs time because of the league cup anyways. AZ isn’t an easy game, and neither is any game after an international break, even against Birmingham, so with our defensive frailties unless they aren’t capable of playing then we’ve got to stick our strongest centre back pairing in, and they’ll rest in the league cup, and once we’ve qualified in first place in the champs league!

  19. B.B.K

fuck that gallas needs, and will play can’t change a winning team if silvest can’t be nowhere near the first team neither can senderos

  20. Ja_Gunner

I hear you A…..but I revise my Birmingham team…..since Gallas had his teeth smashed, I would give him the extra days rest….it does not make sense to play him just for someone to hit him in the face and aggravate the injury…so based on that I would play….

    for Birmingham….

    ……………………Manone/Al…………………….

    Sagna………Senderos……….Vermy…………Clichy/Gibbs

    …………………….Song………………………….

    ….Cesc………………………………Diaby……….

    ..Bendy……………….RVP……………..Arshy……..

Sub Arshy on 60 or so if we are comfortable….

    and possibly for AZ…….

    ………………….Manone/Al…………………….

    Sag/Eb………….Gallas………..Sylvest…..Clichy

    ………………………Song……………………….

    ….Cesc……………………………..Diaby………..

    Rosicky………………….RVP……………Arshy……..

With Vela to come on for Arshy at some point…..

For the West Ham ….the regular CB pairing comes back to together…..Gallas+Vermy all the way until as you said there is an injury…

  21. B.B.K

the fact of the matter is ja gallas needs to play even if his leg was hanging off he needs to play, senderos would come in and fuck things up

  22. Pat

BBK, I seldom agree with you, but now I do. You NEVER change a winning team

    Mannone
    Sagna/Eboue Gallas Verm Clichy
    Cesc Song Diaby
    Rosicky RVP Arshavin

Knowing Wenger, he’ll go with bendnter on the right

  23. Faceman

ramsey is going to be a monster midfielder in the mould of bryan robson.

he will more than fill the viod vacated by cesc when he finally goes back to barca.

  24. Ja_Gunner

Pat I woudnt start Rosicky against Birmingham…we dont want to push him too hard and injure him again….

But I would definitely start him against AZ though for sure…

  25. Faceman

pat, did i say ramsey was similar to cesc?

    mentioned robbo did i not?

and when paddy left.. did cesc not fill his void?

and are they 2 different types of players?

    case closed 😉

  26. Pat

You said “more than fill the void”

Cesc isn’t as good as Vieira was.

But I did misread it the first time. I hope ramsey does come good, but he seems a bit like a deer in headlights at times

  27. gnarleygeorge9

So Barcalonely are tapping up yet another Arsenal player. Now hang on a minute, they, apparently, have a far superior squad than The Arsenal, yet they are always voyeuring our players 😉

IMO, the truth is Barcalonely don’t have a superior squad, they just look good in an inferior league, and have gotten bloody lucky in the Champions League. Lets be honest, they scraped home against a 9 man Arsenal in 2006, & the ref cheated in the 93rd minute against Chelski last year.

Now before any of the Catalan loving people start giving me the reasons why I’m wrong, Messi, is the only player they have that is a stand out, & yet we have Arswaxin, whom they now say they want.

I am sick & tired of hereing about how great The Arsenal aren’t. I think the Arsenal are the greatest (apart from Richmond F C) 😉 & I’m sick & tired of La Liga talk.

  28. ethangunner

Ramsey is still very young and more like a young steven gerrard , takes the shots from deep ,the odd bit of intelligence ..

as for cesc , he NEVER filled paddy’s void !
and up until recently cannot even be compared to patrick !

faceman get off the weed mate , next youll think megan fox will be our next right back !

  29. Pat

Gerrard has more drive than lampard. I used to see Ramsey as a gerrard, but I’ve changed my mind. He’s a mix between the 2 I guess

  30. ethangunner

still pretty hard to tell at his age , but he’s confident on the long bombs and has some intelligence for the odd pass ..

so far for me he looks a dead ringer on the Gerrard style mold , it will be good if he does turn out like him ..

5 mil well spent if so ..

Pat, lamps or Gerrard , both were told they are similar in the England role ,i also think jack is more than capable for taking over from cesc .

wenger plays jack on the wing in a theo style apprenticeship , but i think he is really a play maker , a central play maker , he and ramsey could be our central midfield future..

its some way off currently however , lets hope wenger plays them both and they stay motivated waiting for song -eboue-denilson diaby etc to give way …

    did i mention vela ? 🙂

  31. Geoff

Where did you read that about Megan Fox, I bet it’s just another rumour, anyway that would mean him letting his love child Eboue go, that won’t happen Ethan, dream on.

Gnarley you must have been peeping at my todays post!

  32. Sabeel Indian Gunner

Heard Clichy has injured his thigh muscle

Apparently, wenger who was commentating in the game said,he expected clichy to be substituted during the game, but Domenech the french coach, did not,and clichy played the entire game with injury..

So Clichy,a doubt for Birmingham game.

    Source : Goonertalk

    ———-

Gibbs will get a chance, but i agree that i DO NOT like to see any injury to our players.

  33. Mimi

I love it when people have to eat back their words….i bet Adams wishes he’d never opened his mouth in the first place.Varmaelen is a gem.

  34. SUGA3

    morning all 😉

just back from holiday, what is cooking?

some good posts there during the break, quite helpful to get over this ever sooo boring and fearful (injury wise) – I am quite happy I had no frustration of looking for a pub to see the game in Crete…

  35. Jaguar

Diaby for Euromillions! No fecking player of his calibre, would get into a top four team, anywhere in the universe, leave alone starting for them week in week out. What a shame,Mr Wenger.Open your eyes and start playing the best players than your favourites.
