Cesc has spoken, morning has broken, but has the boss woken?

by & filed under Uncategorized.

On the day it was announced that American pop idol Michael Jackson had died, King Cesc announces he is staying, Michael Jackson made some fantastic records of that there is no doubt, he was a very odd man and we could debate him all day, suffice to say we shouldn’t as so many people are divided on him, much like our defensive midfield options, so I say let’s leave it there and spend today talking about our beloved Arsenal.

Cesc has said – ‘So, for anyone who is unclear or may have misunderstood what my position is, let me make myself absolutely crystal, ‘I am wholeheartedly committed to Arsenal and my future lies with this great club’

As we suspected yesterday his words were twisted so let’s now hope he stops giving those interviews to the third world press, stick to the real papers Cesc, only talk to the Sun, the Star or Sky Sports, the media that the people can believe, … oh and by the way Cesc, I really was being wholeheartedly sarfuckingcastic!

I said yesterday he has no doubt been miss-quoted, however… I think he was sending out a message to his boss, he was saying yes of course we have immense talent coming through but we need some ready mades, now, like the Spanish team, they mix the young’uns with the experienced players and that is what we need to do, I hope you took it on board Arsene.

I watched the Newcastle game last night on Arsenal TV, and had forgotten just how talented Vela is, why we don’t use him more is beyond me, you know what? Le grove didn’t sign him, Arsene did, so why does he prefer to put the likes of Eboue, Nasri and Diaby there, it’s a mistery, I was also impressed with Nasri, who linked up in the middle with Cesc so well and the football was breathtaking, we have the players if we play them, with Rosicky and Eduardo coming back we do look like we could be awesome next year but if we signed, say Zapata and Cana or Melo to add strength, we would be unstoppable.

Clichy and Gibbs for me are already better at left back than Cole, the option of Vela, Traore and Gibbs on the left wing are in place, start using Diaby, Nasri and Rosicky in the middle with Cesc and we are strong in the middle, add the two I mentioned and we have no weak point in the team when we get injuries.

Then start blooding Wilshere, JET and Ramsey when we need to and get rid of the rest.

I was even impressed with Ade, he does give us the big gangly centre forward option as does Nikki B, but when he’s not playing well we may as well play with 10 men.

I would have a clear out, I would seriously consider selling Eboue, Senderos, Silvestre and Ade, with that done we could bring in some strength where we need it, if Wenger rated Senderos he wouldn’t have tried to sell him to Milan, so why persevere? Eboue is dissaffected so sell him, if we can’t get Zapata then swap him plus cash for Sackho. Don’t buy Bassong, he’s not good enough.

I really believe that the solutions would cost this club nothing, and it would send a message out to the team, the fans and the world of football, that this season Arsenal are coming to play.

So well done Cesc, unlucky Michael and good luck Eboue, enjoy Paris.

I hope you all agree that today smells a little better than it did this time yesterday when Sky sports and the Sun were having a we hate Arsenal fest, screw you, you Manc lovers, Arsene will learn from this and next season, we will clean up.

Have a great day Grovers, I feel something in my water today

Well Jimbo I reckon it’s 75-25 in favour of us getting a class DM in; I rarely say “It WILL happen” as I’m never that sure. However I do salute those people who put their head on the block and say “It’s NOT going to happen” like you did with the Arsh.

It’d still be fun to bet Ethan’s house on whether we get a new DM in, LOL.

Does anyone know when the Chavs are going to be appealing their Euro bans ?

If there’s any justice UEFA will increse the bans, but as we all know where Platini and his cronies are concerned the Champions League is a justice-free zone.

  2. charybdis1966

Dennis, three-bean chillies at lunch time have the same effect on me!

Geoff – I didn’t realise you believed in the transmigration of the soul and all that malarkey. By rights I should too, and I do to an extent but that’s partly down to near death experiences as much as to my inherited cultural traits.

As far as I can tell it the idea of reincarnation is to better yourself in the spiritual sense to escape being reborn, as well know life is full of suffering (especially for a Goon during silly season) – heck I sound like BBK now !

    it seems a mongolian curry
is reason enough for to worry
    its contents are such
we don’t like it so much
but when eaten you better just hurry

  5. patthegooner

Jimbo, you said he was off to Spurs.

    An Apparent done deal…

Gazzap, I reckon a quality midfielder will at least put us in with a shout of winning it.

Not sure on Melo myself, he was awful last night and did not overly impress me the other night either. maybe this is a smokescreen for a Adebayor for Essien swap (Sorry, dreaming)

  6. gazzap

I think wenger would buy players who have had off pitch troubles and arguments with managers but I dont think he wants players that get 3 reds and 17 yellows. could be wrong. he knows that with 10 men on the pitch its harder to win games and every game counts if you want to win the title.

  7. leon

i do understand cesc fustration and the fans have felt the same way for aut i never long while now but have never questioned his loyalty.he very good player that with time will become great one but he not great player yet.i feel vela playing abit more next season but wenger is going bring him in gradualy.but the one player i realy want to back of is ade i have just had enough this soap opra

  8. Jimbo

That’s what I heard Pat, but I was up front about my source, and it was wrong. There we go – as I understand it, it was a very close run thing to the end, and up until a couple of days before the deadline, Arsenal were not the only club in for Shavva.

Turns out I was wrong. That’s the way it goes, but I couldn’t be happier with teh end result.

I have no source for the ‘no CM’ thing – it’s just my opinion that’s formed no the basis of watching Arsene Wenger fuck up summer after summer after summer.

  9. patthegooner

From what I have seen, Melo is not a patch on Vieira.

To be honest in the two games I have seen Melo play, Gilberto has looked streets ahead of him.

  10. finestcuts

Good morning all….so Gary Glitter has passed away!
I’m sure his fans will be very disappointed!
I have no doubt at all that Cesc will stay as captain for a good few years to come, we’re still awaiting news on the transfer front, no first teamers have left yet, there are usually one or two departures, and those usually fuel the influx of new players.
Dzeko is first choice for Milan so Ade may still be on the books at the start of the season, as long as he improves everything will be OK, but I still have hope there will be another experienced face or two joining the first team.

  11. skandibird

Dear Dear Geoff – that’s how you make me feel to-day -happy happy your blog has made me. One thing though – what on earth are you ”feeling in your water”??? (keep it clean Geoff!!) Also very sad to hear about Farah Fawcett – she was a great actress and to so many men I understand a ‘hubba hubba’ – until she took ill with cancer, she still looked bloody fantastic; such a shame and from a woman to a woman, Farah I salute you and may you now have no pain but happiness in whatever world you are living in!!

  12. blazon

England U-21 semi final is scheduled to be shown live in the States today at noon e.s.t.

on Setanta if it’s still up…which as we speak it is.

    come see Walcott play angry.

  13. charybdis1966

I think Geoff, there is always come-uppance, its just a matter of how direct and immediate it is. It isn’t always in this lifetime and not always in an obvious way, e.g. people who over eat come back as pigs so they can indulge their passion. As I understand it the complexity of karmic rules and interaction are beyond most people, and definitely me as someone who didn’t pay attention whenever these topics were discussed around me.

  14. patthegooner

And at least you admitted it Jimbo, I am not having a go, I am having a laugh at it.

I agree with you on the Transfer Window fucks ups in recent years, but I think this is the Summer too far. There were too many empty seats for the clubs liking last season, and whilst they may claim that the seats had been paid for, there would still have been a shortfall in merchandise and food/drink sales on the day.

A DM is a must and I believe this year Wenger realises he must secure that player. I reckon he wanted one last year but simply could not get his man and gambled on a Barry to Liverpool on deadline day to get Alonso with a fallback of Song, Denilson or Diaby doing a Flamini and it failed.

  15. Steve

Apparently Madonna has put a cheeky bid in for Bubbles.

I’m off down the gym to sweat out this fucking hangover.

Just look at that squad for a minute:–

Don’t want Melo (at the quoted price) or Hitzlsperger… Not even really that keen on Cana…

I don’t see why we don’t sell Toure to City for 12m and Adebayor to whomever will front up the 18m + plus clearing out senderos, silvestre, randall, simpson, gilbert and barazite..

That’s 35m + Wages… That’ll get you a De Rossi, Albeda, Senna etc.. Why settle for medicore or just about better than what we’ve got.

Because if you think a Cana, Melo or Hitzlsperger are going to win you titles in this day and age you are mistaken…. I personally don’t think the 3 afformentioned at that much better then song, diaby or denilson in all honesty.

  17. Geoff

Morning Skandi, I feel a transfer in my water!

Dennis, I hate Indian food, hate it all, I think it’s the Kumin because I love Thai and Mexican, the hotter the better.
I really like Indians though, I went to Ceylon and starved for 7 days.

Chary I like the idea that Hitler, Stalin and Mao are getting fucked in hell up the arse by a goat with a pineapple for a dick wrapped in razor wire every hour.

All day every day. That’s my idea of Karma, and the Paedo’s, the same but both ends.

Great Post Geoff i had a senaky feeling we would never agree again mate ..hehhe…then after reading this post…seems we agree on most things…kinda like the media Geoff..damned..:)

let the dead rest in peace, and now that Jackson’s gone may his soul rest in peace..king of pop..

Nordtveit is developing nicely..and i know for a fact that LSK is doing whatever they can to keep him after the loan deal stops august 1st,and he started his loan deal as a right back and has fought his way into a postion as a CD,and doing very well..keeping Riseth a former NOrwegian National out of the team…well done Haavard 🙂

and when Nordtveit was asked about what He would like,,,to go back or stay..a simple and quick answer..i love it here, but i AM an Arsenal player and they decide…i love that loyalty..nothing fancy just a solid reply…and quite refreshing theese days..well done lad..

  20. charybdis1966

Ouch that sounds ghastly Geoff, but it’s supposed to of course.
Nice to see Arsh go without an agent, didn’t Dicko never employ an agent? Another leg-end in the making – and I don’t mean leg-end like the “once-black, once-white” weirdo Jacko.
So it seems like Dentinho is the latest brazilian linked with us – sounds like a brand of mouth wash to me.

  21. tomstoned

    Geoff mate..

not sure of the excact height..but he is towering,he’s fast..he got an excellent passing game..he already takes most of LSK’s free kicks..and he is very good in the air…most important his tackling game remembers me of a young Dunga…

and he is loyal Goeff..he got a heart for Arsenal..i actually think he could make it…but this year ? i doubt it…im sorry to say…

ill get back to you on the excact height Geoff if not that wonder lady Irish would know 🙂

alot fans are assuming toure will leave but i think wenger will bring hw signing dragdualy and still keep toure and ithink there is fear chance that both toure/gallas are staying, remember this player is only 23 and wenger will want to keep his experienced players at the backso i think it might be gallas, verm,dj,toure because will want 4 centre backs.noviet from norway i think wenger will keep on loan thi sclub at least 1 more year he is getting of experience in an extremly phsycal legue

  23. dennisdamenace

I never realised they stack horse shit that high!! Ha Ha Ha!! Oi Oi Franchise, how’s it hanging fella???

  24. Geoff

Chary I’m convinced the only time we hear of them is when the press do, Sagna aside, we only went after Ramsey and Theo once the others did, if our network was any good how comes we didn’t get them the year before?

  25. dennisdamenace

Maybe you should consider the back, crack ‘n’ sack treatment my friend, very liberating!!!!

  26. Breton

SUGA3. Face value on the ticket is £55 but any reasonable offer for the pair at this stage will be accepted. I dont want them wasted.

  27. Geoff

If this Melo guy is not as good as Gilberto, then why are we interested?

What happened with Matuidi, that was a hot rumour for a while.

  28. dennisdamenace

As an aside, i bought myself the new Nokia N97 a couple of days ago, a cracking piece of kit….

  29. leon

    goeff

matuidi is good but is not what team needs we already have song and delinson who will be ready in 1-2 years and particualy song in my view is better option than hin no we need some more experernced but i would go zapata he 1 for the future and we have song and dj

  30. dennisdamenace

    Players i’d pay to see……..

    Rosicky
    Eduardo
    RvP
    Fab4
    Arshavin
    Vela
    Gibbs
    Sagna
    Clichy
    Gallas

  31. dennisdamenace

Players i’d pay NOT to see, in fact players i wouldn’t piss on if they were on fire….

    Adebayor
    Eboue
    Denilson
    Song
    Diaby

  32. dennisdamenace

Those were the thoughts of Chairman Dennis, and have no bearing whatsoever on Le Grove, Le Grove’s management, or the little lady on the corner that does ‘washing’….

  33. dennisdamenace

Stu – That’s between me, my credit card company and the cable channel i have a subscriptoin with 8)

  34. Breton

Great. I will be up stairs in the Blue Room Curry house across the road from the western approach, I cant remember what road its on and have no A-Z., from 6:15 to around 7.45. It looks like a pole dancing club, and used to be a Beefeater. I will be wearing a denim jacket with the sleeves cut off and an embroyed dragon on the back and last seasons away colours. The band are on at 8.25pm.

  35. SharkeySure

Who says we’re interested in Melo..?? People on here plus Gabriele Marcotti…??

Just like people wanted Chiellini….til they actually saw him play.

Everytimne I hear someone say we could have bought so and so ten years ago for a penny, I scream, yeah but then we would have gone crazy about buying unproven players.

All our best players in recent years have come in as ‘projects’. Arshavin is about the only one who came in as a ready made article.

The 98 defence had to have a strong word with Paddy to get him straight. 18mths(?) later he was setting the world alight, 3yrs(?) later he was the best we’d EVER seen in that position.

Thierry was a winger when he signed. First press conf Arsene says, I intend to play him as a striker. Turned out quite well…even if he couldn’t hit a barn door for the first few months.

Anyone remember him coming on against Leicester in for his debut..?? Fuck me he spunked some chances that day…but he kept going back in for them.

  36. Breton

Cheers Geoff and Pedro for letting me do this on your site, I’ll buy you both a beer when I see you at the start of the season

  37. Stu

Sharkey, interestingly Henry wasnt a winger. Juve were just thick and thought he was. When Wenger was at Monaco and Henry was in the youths Henry was always a striker and Wenger just put him back there.

  38. Duke

Breton, you could have even emailed them and they would put it in Le Exchange. Le Grove is a family, so I will take both of their beers please. 😀

  39. Ratchet

You complain about NASRI, Diaby and Eboue being played ahead of Vela but make no mention of the equally – if not more – ineffective, WALCOTT! You can’t be serious putting NASRI on that list at all. Walcott has done f*ck all and has not developed much as footballer since he arrived. His touch is still poor, his skill is very limited and his awareness of what’s around him is non-existent. The only reason I can think of as to why WALCOTT is played ahead of Vela is to appease the English media. You know he’s crap along with Ade and Silvestre.

  40. Duke

Gordon Brown and David Cameron have both said they are “saddened” by the death of pop legend Michael Jackson.

They should take another few weeks off then.

  41. SharkeySure

No offence to you Breton, but I read your 12.50 post and instantly thought of the scene in Police Academy !!!

The wonderful world of Arsenal….all sorts, from all walks, with often only one fucking thing in common. Arsenal Football Club.

  42. SharkeySure

Stu, you might well be right Stu, but by the time Juve bought him he’d won the world cup with france playing on the wing, and presumably hd played their after Arsene left Monaco.

Lots of young strikers go to the wings for a bit….there’s a young fella at Arse doing that now…his name escapes me at the mo…

  43. Tom

So – these RIDICULOUS transfer “stories”.

Melo – Quite why anyone would be interested in him is staggering. The man is fucking as average as they come. I’ve watch Serie A all season and he’s not even as good as Denilson. They are practically an exact player. You would honestly struggle to see any differences in how they play. Just not gonna happen

Cana – Fucking PLEASE STOP REFERENCING CANA!! we have never been interested, we arent now, we wont be in future. Just forget it!

And Essien!!!!? – Mother of god. Just stop now.

I think its fairly clear that IF there are any more signings (remember wenger said possibly one or two) then it’ll be in defence.

I wouldnt be suprised to see one of toure and gallas going. But ANOTHER central midfielder?

As much as I can see we need one, and by christ we do, as long as Diaby, Song and Denilson are Arsenal players, we wont see any more coming in.

Honestly, i wonder if people listen to what Wenger says and just go with what the likes of Steven Howard say above the manager.

How many times has he said he has faith in his players? how many times has he stated he wont sign players that will stifle the development of what he already has.

remember – we have these players in central midfield.

    Cesc
    Song
    Denilson
    Diaby
    Nasri
    Ramsay
Arshaving (i know he’s more attacking)

Thats SEVEN players vying for two positions, maximum three if we play 451.

You think Wenger is gonna make it Eight?!
    Please…

  44. SharkeySure

Suga3 and Breton. You guys should just get Geoff /Pedro to pass your email addys to ecah other..

Thats gotta be easier than looking for a bloke in a denim jacket at a heavy metal concert !!!

    *smiling*

  45. Stu

It would be great if Diaby suddenly his form and stayed fit and consistent but he isnt a DM. We all know it, his best sopt is behind the striker and hes never gonna own that spot. Sell him (maybe in jan if he doesnt get good).

But DM, i doubt it seeing as he cant defend for his life.

  46. dennisdamenace

To be fair AW’s not gonna come out and say he doesn’t have belief in his players, regardless of how he may truly feel…….

  47. SharkeySure

“looking for a bloke in a denim jacket at a heavy metal concert”

Does that count as my Friday joke….or do I have to wait til Pedro steals it…??

  48. Stu

Exactly DDM, hes not gonna have a press conference where he slates his players and asks if anyone wants to join the club.

But seeing as last summer we had bids rejected proves that he is/was looking for someone.

  49. ReVELAtion

    it could quite easily be

    al

    bak
    verm
    willi
    gael

    nasri
    cesc
    diaby
    arsh

    vp
    ed

    1st game at everton…

  50. Tom

    Duke – Cana!

We’ve never even registerd any interest as far as I know. He’s also utterly average. OK he’s physical, but thats about it. He doesnt fit anything that Wenger would be looking for.

We’re not signing any midfielders chaps. We already have too many. You can also add Rosicky to my list.

Thats 9 players into two or at a push three positions.

Im all for squad depth but expecting Wenger to sign a player to replace Denilson (who in case you all forgot was the player with most apps this season), Song, or Diaby is just wishful thinking.

Its not going to happen unless two or three of our midfielders leave

  51. Paulinho

What a coincidence, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson dying on the same day. One used to fuck Majors and the other used to fuck minors.

  52. Stu

If Diaby was o play CM then he would have to be disciplined and tackle smartly. And i dont see either of those happening because he seems fairly thick and any time he tackles he more often than not injures someone. Plus he doesnt ever want to pass the ball so he would be a massive liability.

  53. Duke

Suga3 and Breton, how about exchange phone numbers. I am sure no-one will call you from here for jokes, it’s the recession, phone calls are expensive. But I will write down your numbers incase we fall our in the future so I can track you down.
    Exchange numbers go go go.
Sharkey, I like you joke. Going with today’s theme and your joke, I can tell you it wont be as easy as finding a black bloke at a Michael Jackson concert 😛

  54. Paulinho

Anyway, I think I would prefer Rosicky to stay fully fit over the course of the season than bring in a central midfielder.

It looks we’re gonna be playing alot of floating midfielders next season and having players like Arshavin, Nasri, Rosicky available is very important to making that formation work.

Denilson and Song can tie things over, at least until Jan.

  55. Stu

Tom, you need to calm it down.

OK so we might not be buying any midfielders but Diaby aint a DM, Wenger says Song is a CB, Cesc aint a DM, neither is ramsey. That leaves Denilson who if he was that good we wouldnt think we needed a defensive midfielder.

We have a lot of midfielders but none of them are defensive ones.

  56. Ratchet

Would you care to explain why after “moderation”, my comment at 12:57 wasn’t posted? Is any view that contradicts those of the editors/moderators discarded? It wasn’t abusive and I’m sure that when it suits you, you’ll champion freedom of speech so I would GENUINELY like to know the reason!

  57. Duke

Tom mate, I read you first post, it was a joke. I agree with all your points except one. Cana – average? No mate he is not, I watch French league a bit, he is fucking quality. Everyone just watched that video and thinks he is a mental head. Believe me he is a very fucking intelligent player, who is a fucking leader top to bottom. He has great positioning and he shows other where they have to be on the pitch when he is playing. He is exactly what we need. Shame we will never get him.

On another note, just read this:

“Paris Saint Germain forward Guillaume Hoarau, dubbed the “New Benzema” by French Footbal journalists”

New Benzema? You gotta be shitting me, Benzema has achieved nothing yet. In fact he was the main striker in Lyon team which for the 1st time in 7 years didn’t win the title.

  58. Paulinho

I think Arshavin likes playing a free role behind the striker.

That’s we need another wide man IMO. I can see Arshavin throwing a strop if he plays out wide again next season for a sustained spell.

  59. Stu

Remember Kerzhakov at Sevilla? He was good and he is still only 26. I would have thought he was much older.
Random but just thught i would say it.

  60. Duke

ddm, def left side of 4-3-3. Even in Zenit when they played 4-5-1 he would drift to the left and Fayzulin would come in from the right, so it was really 4-3-3 anyway. Same with Russia.

  61. Tom

Stu im calm mate, i just find it astonishing that people STILL beleive what they read in the Sun over what our own manager consistently states.

Forget the beliefs of so called “Experts” and ex players. Look at the evidence.

Denilson: almost ever present last year, stats say he was one of the best in the league

Diaby: Rated by arsene and isnt going to be dumped this close season

Song: Came on alot last season and again, isnt going to be dumped

    Cesc: Guarenteed starter

Nasri: Pretty much nailed on starter

    Arshavin: Nailed on starter

Dont get me wrong, i would LOVE us to get rid of Song Denilson and Diaby as I think they are just not good enough for any side that thinks it can win the title. I dont need stats to tell me Denilson is a top premiership player when i see with my own eyes that he’s dominated by pretty much every single midfielder he plays against.

but then those are my views. Not shared by the manager who loves all three of the players i want rid of.

When has he EVER signed players that could potentially stifle the others. He hasnt.

Thats not gonna change now, particularly when we dont have a lot of money and players are changing clubs for 50-odd million.

  62. ReVELAtion

rosicky, vela, walcott, nasri, arshavin all vy for 2 spots on the flanks…

Throw in traore, wilshire & eboue, and we’re not exactly crying out for one

  63. ReVELAtion

if arshain starts up front for a sustained period next season it’ll mean we have sold van persie, make no mistake!

  64. Tom

Duke – We can agree to disagree that Cana is good.

But the issue is will we sign him!!

Sure – id love Essien. id love bloody Vidic, id love Torres.

But the reality is we arent gonna sign him!

Tell me precisely WHY we’d sign Cana when there’s been no registered interest, no stories, no nothing about him! Even the quiet transfers like Eduardo had weeks of speculation prior to him signing.

The only stuff i see about Cana is on Arsenal-mania and other shite like that.

The chances of it happening are less than 1%.

Some arsenal fans need a dose of reality. Forget central midfield signings when we have central midfielders coming out of our ears. We’d need to lose at least two to bring anyone in.

  65. dennisdamenace

Bearing your answers in mind, does that make Diably redundant then? As, AA and RvP play as the support striker.

Diaby has moments of utter brilliance, but they are fleeting moments, but we’re too well sticked in attacking options to play him, and as for utilising him as a DM, it would be just another square peg in a round hole again……

  66. Paulinho

Rev, Nasri is poor on the left. Vela is poor on the left. Walcott is still very raw and again like Vela, more of a forward. Arshavin is a forward. Eboue is a clown.

We actually have very few players who can actually play wide with intelligence, discipline, and the required work rate. Rosicky is one. Nasri can do a job on the right.

  67. Tom

Dennis – You dont need to tell me of the inadequcy of Diaby. I know.

    He’s toilet.

Still – im not the Arsenal manager and I dont have 8 or 9 players to squeeze into 2 or 3 positions.

  68. Paulinho

I think Diaby can do a job centrally against alot of teams in the league, in fact by the end of the season all our central midfielders could compete against most of the league.

It’s just against the top teams that their lack of real class becomes apparent.

  69. Tom

Lads – this “Yeah – sell him” stuff is painful.

It matters absolutely NOTHING what you think. You arent football managers and you certainly arent Wenger.

As long as the manager rates him – and he clearly does – then forget about selling him and certainly forget these silly replacements.

  70. dennisdamenace

Tom – Arsene seems to have boxed himself in here with far too many CMers, even the ones who are technically good enough to play wide (eg Rosicky) are basically CM players. He could relly do with odd loading one or two of them and buying an out and out winger. Surely it would give the team more balance, and give us another option in breaking down defensive teams….

  71. ReVELAtion

Tom, I expect ramsey to go out on loan in all honesty and the options of diaby, denilson and song vying for the slot next to cesc in 1 4-4-2 isn’t going to change…

Arsene has pigeon holed the defence and has stated nothing about midfielders, so like you, i truly belive we aren’t going to sign anyone else other than a centre back (Sakho, Tasci, Richards) as i can’t really see us keeping both gallas & toure, no matter what wenger wants to say…

If we do sell adebayor (which at current is highly unlikely) will we sign a CF? I don’t think so…

With vela, eduardo, bendtner, van persie, walcott and arshavin all being able to play there, it is again, highly unlikely…..

What i don’t get is why so many fans cry out for melo, cana, hitzlesperger etc when they are not that much better then what we’ve got…

Unless we’re going to sell some assets (i.e adebayor, toure, senderos, traore) who will generate some .money and then go in for a de rossi, albeda, senna etc i do not see the point in buying anyone!

  72. Geoff

Sharkey when TH14 made his debut against Leicester I seem to remember it was his corner that got the equaliser or was it the winner, we won 2-1.

I still rate Cheillini, he just had a bad few games.

Song to be ready in 2 years eh? Wow that’s something to look forward to, I watched him against Newcastle last night, he may as well have not been there the use he was.

  73. Stu (denisov)

Tom, we may not be buying midfielders but you need to have hope, otherwise you will become depressed with the whole situation.

Personally i am now campaigning for Igor Denisov. Click my name for a clip. 😀
I have decided i will have a new clip for a different player every day or few days. Now:denisov Next:Juhasz

    Fucking moderation!

  75. Duke

Kerzhakov is amazing, he is in Dynamo now, after a bad spell at Sevilla he returned and in 2 years made it back to the Russian national team, and scored 2 goals on his return against Finland, which is the pot 3 team after Russian and Germany in that group.
The problem though he needs to be the star, he has a Henry thing, all the balls have to be played to him, and he will take ridicules shots when he should clearly pass. Maybe wouldn’t be a bad option for us, but he is not a player who would replace Ade, and for his style we already have RvP and Eduardo. I don’t see him being starting line up for us, and if he isn’t he will soon lose his confidence and his game will go downhill. He is not a super sub, he doesn’t get pissed off if you leave him out, he loses interest.

  76. dennisdamenace

Tom – relax fella, it’s called debate. If we don’t debate we may as well not converse….

  77. patthegooner

    Tom,

    Agree with all of that,

You are right, forget stats, it is what you see with your own eyes that counts, Stats dont tell you about being caught out of position but they do tell you that if you play crab ball with 5yrd passes every game you will be top of the passers.

I think he will sign a DM though, and if he doesn’t I predict a riot. I certainly wont be renewing any membership. No DM = another painful season.

  78. Geoff

Ratchet, are you still there? the reason you were in moderation was because I have been out, is that Ok?

Fuck free speech, I write this blog, not Rita Chackrabati.

Anyway you are free to blog now, just stop whining.

A man is driving down a country road, when he spots a farmer standing in the middle of a huge field of grass. He pulls the car over to the side of the road and notices that the farmer is just standing there, doing nothing, looking at nothing.

The man gets out of the car, walks all the way out to the farmer and asks him, “Ah excuse me mister, but what are you doing?”

The farmer replies, “I’m trying to win a Nobel Prize.”

    “How?” asks the man, puzzled.

“Well, I heard they give the Nobel Prize . . . to people who are out standing in their field.”

  80. patthegooner

As for Song being ready in two years. He might well be and I hope he is.

The problem is he is a starting 11 player for Arsenal, and in my book, you need to be ready NOW if you are classed as one of them.

  81. Geoff

Tom if you bothered to read the other 970 comments yesterday you’d find that’s what we like to do, if you don’t like it, go somewhere else and bitch to them, they might be interested in what you think, we aren’t.

  82. Stu

Fack that! Song needs to be ready now. Because we need readymade players to be starting and we wont win something with someone plying their trade. Weak link and all that.

  83. ReVELAtion

where does denisov play stu and how old is he? the clip shows him scoring goals and not much else.. Plus if he plays for zenit they aren’t going to play nice…

    Phil Brown: What a Cock

He wants a cooling down period as he cant handle the pressure…..Fuck you Brown to permatanned prick

“I was disappointed to be found guilty because I thought it was a real high-pressure situation straight after a game,” he said.

“I really do think that a precedent should be set that you guys [the television companies] should not be allowed to shove a camera in Premier League managers’ faces immediately after a game.

“I think there should be a cooling-down period, there should be 30 minutes after a game of football that a manager can allow himself [time].

“I think a precedent should be set that a cooling-down period is a must.”

He added: “I know it’s compulsive viewing when you guys get the chance to catch us unawares and off-guard, and unfortunately it’s cost be £2,500.”

Brown went so far as to insinuate Setanta’s interviewer coaxed him into making the comments.

“I think I was led down the garden path; I think a trap was set,” he said.

“The first question that was levelled at me was suggesting that there was cheating going on…I’m not allowed to use that word and no manager is.

“It was never my intention to walk into a press conference and accuse anyone of cheating, or a lack of integrity, or bias.”

  85. dennisdamenace

Rita Chackrabati now there’s one bitch i’d like to rabbit punch because it’s my human right to!

BILL GATES . . . . . Better listen to what he has to say . . . To anyone with kids of any age, here’s some advice. Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world. Love him or hate him, he sure hit the nail on the head with this!

Rule 1: Life is not fair – get used to it!

Rule 2: The world won’t care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make £60,000 a year right out of school. You won’t be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping – they called it “opportunity”.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it’s not your parents’ fault, so don’t whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren’t as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent’s generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools they have abolished failing grades and they’ll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer.

This doesn’t bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don’t get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you’ll end up working for one

  87. Stu

Rev, wouldnt you know he is another CM. Im not sure which kind of CM but he starts for Zenit and Russia (althought for some reason he opted against going to the euros with them). He puts in a lot of effort and is a neat footballer. Typical of the way Russia played under Hiddink and for Zenit in the eufa cup.
Thats where i saw and liked the look of him.
And he just turned 25. He isnt that big tho.

  88. Geoff

All she does is bitch about anything this country does, except dish out passports and benefits.

She would soon like the Police is someone had a pop at her, I fucking hate everything that cow stands for.

  89. dennisdamenace

If Song needs another two years, then fuck him off on loan. Isn’t the first team supposed to contain players who are ready to play first tream football now….d’oh!
