It was disrespectful to the fans says Wenger. Wow! Is that an apology???

by & filed under Uncategorized.

No sorry Grovers, he was talking about the state of the Wembley pitch and not his dreadful team selection, it was someone else’s fault.

Ok enough on that, it’s gone, our big chance of domestic silverware went with the Wembley pitch, poor team selection, oh and of course Chelsea, who didn’t disrespect their fans and played with a full strength side, what will he do tonight then? We can’t afford to lose this one, at the very least we need a draw, with Everton and Villa still breathing down our necks.

A win on the other hand will close the gap and send us into the ManU game brimming with confidence.

So tonight we have Ade and Robin out with injuries, I wonder how they picked those up? Being as they did sweet FA to get them, but it could be a blessing in disguise, we still need to play 4-4-2 though as Eduardo is too small to sit up there alone and Bendtner isn’t good enough to, but both of them together with Song and Cesc in midfield and Walcott and Arshavin on the flanks could do it.

We will have Sagna back and with Kolo, Silvestre and Gibbs along the back we have a chance, as I said before I don’t blame Fabianski so I’m not concerned about him, if he does it again though, I may be.

What I don’t want to see is a midfield that includes the hapless Eboue, Denilson or Diaby, if he leaves them out then I may believe he has learnt something and we have a chance, if I were Benitez I would be expecting 4-5-1 and a sub on 70 minutes, anything else may surprise them, they will be feeling confident, so we may just spring something on them.

They play better away from home and so do we, Cesc owes us a showing and they must know we cannot have another shocking performance if we are to salvage something out of this season.

If we have too many injuries, he could always try Ramsey, Wilshere or Thomas, now there’s a novel thought!

As I said the other day, our great run didn’t include playing anyone from the top 4 so this will show us whether we have enough for next season, I still think we can beat the Mancs because they are as strange as are this season, so they will also be concerned, but by beating the scousers, we will be sending out the right message.

I have said many times, it’s not the losing, it’s the manner in which we lose that hurts me.

So come on Arsenal, show us you’re good enough, show us your teeth and get this season back on the road, if you don’t I won’t be looking forward to the summer, because something tells me we won’t be killing Diaby, Denilson and Song.

I didn’t say that by the way, Wenger did, for the second time this season I hope he plays Song, after the semi on Saturday it would be like having Pele in the side. If I had to pick my dream team I would play Nasri next to Cesc and have Song on the bench, but I didn’t suggest it as I know he won’t do that, Liverpool are the one team we could play against and field a team like that.

Win this one and we can start believing again, no history today, no rallying call, just get the job done, Arsenal and in particular Wenger, you owe us.

Ok so how will I end this positively?

SPIRIT OF 89 ARSENAL, THIS IS OUR ANNIVERSARY TOO, REMEMBER THE ADVERTISEMENT? GO SHOW THEM WHAT OUR KIDS DID THEN, DEFY THE ODDS, WIN AT ANFIELD, HISTORY IS ON OUR SIDE.

Have a great day Grovers, it only gets harder from tonight, I’ll leave you with a little motivator (Cheers Gnarley).

I got to say denilson isnt up to Brazilian standards , however i don’t think song did much better last night in all honesty , we were fucking dominated in the midfield and no person should be above reproach , our most talented players are on the wings and cesc/song didn’t look capable last night , especially in the 1st half .

if it wasn’t for AA we would have been well and truly raped last night !

I want Howard Webb in the match report as a 10/10 world class fuckwit. He did the same when we played Man Utd. The cunt. He hates Arsenal. On another note I think Wenger has to realize after last night his dream of building a farm of potential players has failed, we need to buy some more players that already come with the complete package. The league and our lives is not his little playground to make these kids improve slowly.

  3. stonroy

Geoff what did you think of Song last night. I thought he was fantastic. His passing under pressure is really improving, his tackling and constant pressure was great last night.

Why did gallas have to go…sigh…
Morning you guys. I’ve been scouting the net watchin those goals over again.. If only he had one more in ‘im!!

Surely AA must see that song/fabre is the way to go and rotate the rest accordingly – walcott spread the game plenty (he went missing for 10 mins though – well arshavin was doing everything by then – it was get the ball to Arshavin…lol)

When is our first game against the Mancs..

    Here’s a pub quiz question.
Who had 4 direct shots, scored 4 goals in an away game, and the team didn’t win.

Geoff, that question demands an answer as to why AA didn’t play on Saturday.

Add denilson and silvestre to those who can make an exit.

  6. MARK GOONER

song is playing well and must start against mancs

i still want to see a class dm come in to replace the shite denilson

  7. Geoff

He was certainly better but I wouldn’t go further than that, he is still prone to over hitting his passes.

What was apparent though was to buy a ready made player like Arshavin is the way to go, Wenger’s idea is ridiculous.

And is costing us, every season.

    Morning all.

I learned absolultely nothing last night.

Arshavin is amazing, but came too late

We can’t defend for shit. That was pub team at best

4-5-1 doesn’t work (how many of you knew what was coming when you saw the line up?)

Song is improving vastly and is way ahead of Denilson

Silvestre is past it and is a shocking signing – buy cheap buy twice!!!!

Sky Sports Love Liverpool. Everything was from their perspective (our goals were down to their mistakes, Arshavin “simply” finished them, and their goals we’re down to their great work – yes but what about our shitty defending giving them the opportunities???)

Denilson won’t make it and he shouldn’t play for us again.

Wenger always fools himself throughout a season and then we come to these big games and get out classed and out powered. An in a month’s time he would have forgotten and won’t strengthen his squad in defense or midfield!

Oh for decent CB partnership and a dynamo DM. Then we can talk about winning something.

The CL QF will be over after the 1st leg if we defend like that, especially without Arshavin to get us out of jail!

  9. ethangunner

like i said to GG9 yesterday , look at the

    15th – 24th – 47th minute marks RE : song !

major possession blunders , if you think that was a good game then you obviously believe ade is a world class striker also !

  10. Geoff

Maqitlarge we were saying the same thing last season, until someone tells him, nothing will happen.

    So nothing will happen then!

  11. maqitlarge

Oh and we have a tendancy to shit ourselves when we’ve got a lead going into time added on

    Spurs at home
    Villa Away
    Liverpool Away

    There must be more

  12. maqitlarge

    Agree Geoff.

Every year he tries to sell us hope, that we’re building. And at the end of every season we’re found drastically short. And at the start of every year we all know what needs to happen yet it doesn’t!

  13. Big Raddy

    Morning All

That was one f the most exciting second halves ever.

To be honest, we didn’t deserve the 3 points – a very good Dippers team gave us a hammering for the whole first half and much of the second. We can point to defensive errors, but under such extreme pressure, it was inevitable we would cave in.

Kolo and MS, are no TA and Steve B !

  14. Franchise

ethan Song grew into the game especially after denilson came off. Fabregas had more blunders than Song in that game. Fab also seemed to be suffering because of the 3 CM in the middle. denilson and fab cant play together. denilson is a fab wannabe.

  15. leon

    goeff

i must disagree dj is very good uo comming keeper and weather is playing gallas or toure he looks good yes he needs to improve but he has time on his side but silvestor he one of the inury prone players i have seen he is far to slow he cant deal with any class striker

Arsenal’s defence has been an area of concern for a number of years. Since 2006 when Senderos was touted as a solid defender it has been going downhill. I rememmber AW saying we have to operate as a unit but since then it has deteriorated. The Liverpool game is an eyeopener for AW.
The defence better be prepared against MU where the gaps will be ruthlessly exploited by the Mu strikers.
SAF has made use of the spaces afforded to punish Arsenal in the past and if AW is not careful his high
defensive line could cause heartache especially in view of the cumbersome defenders.
