Paddy Power make us favourites! So we’ll win!

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Watching the fans forum last night is always entertaining when Perry Groves is on, I love that guy, he makes sense and he really believes as we do that Arshavin’s presence will give the team a lift, he said from a player point of view they will be stepping up for fear of losing their place and wanting to prove themselves to the new boy, good combination in my book.

They also said that Keane has his moments but drifts out of games all too often and if we can get past the first 15 minutes we should win at a canter.

Also they will come at us and that suits our quick passing game and our ability to counter attack, so we should see some goals, Ade has been well out of sorts and will relish the chance to get the fans going by scoring against the spuds and I think he has a better record against them than Keane does against us. I think we will be out to prove something tomorrow and I was doubly heartened by the news that Wenger said Rosicky is ahead of schedule and will be back in six or seven weeks, f-cking hell Arsene, that’s April, ahead of schedule? he was supposed to be back in September!

Still at least we’ll have Eduardo and Arshavin knocking on the door, personally with 7 subs allowed I would put them both on the bench tomorrow, if for nothing else other than to lift the fans.

I fancy Robin to rip them up but something tells me Denilson will also get on the score sheet, don’t know why, but I just have this feeling. I would like to see Ramsey as the defensive midfielder but I suspect it will be Song, but if not I would play Vela out left with Nasri and Denilson in the middle and Wilshere out wide, but I know he won’t do that either, so expect a midfield of Nasri, Song, Denilson and Eboue.

I can’t wait for the game, today will pass slower than Alexandre Song tracking back but at least it’s a midday kick off so we won’t have to wait all day tomorrow for the fun to start.

Sorry for the Gordon Brown rant earlier but I am sick of what’s happening here these days, it’s like being run by the students union.

No offense meant to students.

Have a great day Grovers, Blackburn may do us a favour today, well them and Hull anyway!

P.S. Le Grove have setup their own twitter page… seems to be all the rage these days… so click here to join in the fun (I think?)!

    Hey Grovers.

Whats the Go? I see Villa won again! Cunts**

So its a must win now with Everton breathing down our backs!

Eboue had one of his better starts against West Ham so I really hope that is some indication that he is about to hit form. its been a long time coming – about 24 years! Its true that Song, Eboue and Denilson is not an inspiring wenger type midfield but you never know in derby games. I cannot fathom why wenger wants to use these kinds of players so often.
I understand that he has Cesc, Ros Arsh coming into the side but it was his decision not to strengthen the key positions in the summer. THAT was the mistake that was unforgivable. Arsh is a reaction signing because we are in the shit. The summer transfer window was the reason for our current position.

I was all around a bad day for us Grovers.

For me on the other hand there was a bright side being
    Jamaican/West Indian

We gained some measure of revenge against England.

51 all out. The last wicket fell when I was on my way to Sabina park, the boys actually played too well.

    Oh well

  4. BOY BETTER KNOW

A TRIO of Arsenal stars will QUIT the Emirates if Arsene Wenger’s side miss out on Champions League football.

Robin van Persie, Emmanuel Adebayor and Cesc Fabregas are all increasingly concerned at Arsenal’s lack of silverware and ambition — and the final straw will come if they finish outside the top four.

Van Persie is yet to sign a new deal and has made it clear it is not just about money but the direction the club is going.

And he has been joined by Adebayor and Fabregas who are both targets for Real Madrid and Barcelona. Boss Wenger is also growing increasingly frustrated at the stalemate over Theo Walcott’s new contract.

  5. BOY BETTER KNOW

The England star’s advisors have been in talks with new chief executive, Ivan Gazidis but are yet to receive any kind of offer despite claims this week Walcott was close to signing.

There is no suggestion Walcott wants to leave but a source close to Arsenal said: “There is a real problem developing because the big names are bemused at the way things are going.

“If Arsenal finish outside the top four, there’s no way the likes of Van Persie, Adebayor and Fabregas will hang around.

“They love playing for Arsene Wenger but they also want to win things.

  6. BOY BETTER KNOW

“And, as things stand, they can’t see that happening. It’s not about how much money they can earn, it’s about winning trophies for these guys.

“They want to see some ambition and they want to see the club buying the right kind of players.

“Andrey Arshavin is obviously a good player but many of the squad thought Arsene should have bought a strong midfielder and a centre-half, not just another neat and tidy ball player because there’s already plenty of them.”

Van Persie was a transfer window target for Barcelona, who were willing to offer Alex Hleb and cash in return for the Dutchman although that was swiftly dismissed.

The La Liga leaders will also come back for Adebayor and battle it out with rivals Real Madrid the moment Fabregas shows any sign of losing patience at Arsenal.

If Arsenal are out of the top 4 (Champions League) then the top players are going to be more easily convinced to move to a club playing Champions League. Which will mean more of the same old shit over summer. & you can be sure the press/media will milk that sort of speculation.

Arsenal must win @ spuds ville.

  8. ethangunner

well i put this game down to who will want it more ,
both teams are playing for the points , us to get a sniff at top 4 , the spuds to avoid the relegation battle , we are both rivals , both teams have new players wanting to make a statement . you cannot ignore recent history , and it doesn’t favor us ..

so i put this one at 50 – 50 , we are the away team , and that doesn’t help either …

but if we come out with vigor we could knock them off .
or if we have looked the same as the past few games we could very well drop more points, all i can say this game will be a nail biter ! so brew your coffee GG9 and all the other boys in this part of the world because youll want to stay awake for this one !

I just read the comments from Geoffs other post, so now I know where you were. Wow! so thats why it was so quiet on this one for periods 🙂

Don’t worry I’ll have the “43 beans in every cup” @ the ready. This 2 hours will be something to savour 😛

  10. ethangunner

not sure if im gonna savor it or dread it ..
i will know more once i see the starting lineup .

if arshavin’s in the starting line up then savor could very well be the term of choice !

if vela’s in even more so !

i thought the lad did well coming in for eboue …
he tried to penetrate into the box and your always gonna get my vote if you take on the defense, in favoring passing off like some lame-O ( no names needing to be mentioned 🙂 ) !

  11. Geoff

I hope so, reading all the above about players leaving if we don’t qualify is worrying though, so why don’t those same players tell Wenger then?

  12. abnet

one thing is for sure we will finish fourth and above b/c the Arshavin factor is so big you and all the fans will se it today in all the players even in song too he will give them a huge lift

    Evening/Morning all

I’m counting down the hours till this one starts. I am really looking forward to this game.

  14. kelsey

    Geoff,
morning you can read it both ways. The players mentioned need to put in more effort, especially Ade.I believe the clash of personalities together with not strengthening the side over the last 2 years,is causing unrest.Unrest does not make a happy camp.We have had a hint from Gazidis that not qualyfing for CL wouldn’t be the end of the world, which shows there is money.Behind the scenes, who knows what is actually going on,but be under no illusion if we don’t win today we are forever playing catch up and the gulf will be widening.

  15. gnarleygeorge9

Oh shit I had better get off here or else I’ll drive every body made. I’m chomping @ the bit for the game to start.

  16. kelsey

I heard last night that there was an usualamount of money being laid on Liverpool when they were 2-1 down.A pattern emerged that they stopped taking bets.If you look at the second and third Liverpool goals, one could read that James made a belated attempt to save both goals, look at it yourself.I am not insinuating anything, but on the other hand it wouldn’t surprise me.my source is highly reputative and works for one of the biggest on line gaming companies and also represents the gaming industry in meetings with FIFA

  17. Geoff

Kelsey I don’t think they are good enough, but if they are today’s the day to show it.

Gnarley I’ve just been watching the fires in Victoria, you ok mate?

  18. gnarleygeorge9

Geoff, just sitting here having a beer watching it on tele. No time for PC in Victoria/NSW. Bring back the death penalty for the cunts who deliberately start fires.

  19. gnarleygeorge9

Mother nature usually starts them 😳 sorry QoS ,but as the firefighters are risking their lives to put the flames out some cunt, who probably suffers from a syndrome my daddy wouldn’t play marbles with me as a kid, I am a victim, goes round stating them.

  20. gnarleygeorge9

    Geoff

At the end of the day, the only difference between Australia & GB, is you produce very good darts players, & we have better beer, other wise the 2 nations are very similar.

  21. gnarleygeorge9

The Gordon Brown one. What you described in that post is just the same here really. Your Australian sister will tell you that 🙂

  22. gnarleygeorge9

Geoff the foundations of this country were built by criminals (paddys, poms, etc) but do gooders can get stuffed as far as I’m concerned.

….only 4 hours to go till the pre game hype on Fox. I’m off to watch the cricket; that should see of 2 or so hours.

  23. Geoff

Captain fucking Cook laid the foundations Gnarley not the criminals! We sent just as many criminals to America.

    Anyway I’m about to post.
