Wenger has lost it I’m afraid.

by & filed under Uncategorized.

I watched the game and so wanted the Arsenal to dominate but alas it didn’t happen.

We were shit and playing Song was like being with 10 men from the start, simple, Cesc didn’t want to give him the ball, no one did, and when he got it, he gave it away, and when you thought it could get no worse you brought on your love child Eboue, and he put him on the left wing, Arsene what the fuck were you thinking? He is at best a back up right back and maybe a right sided player, but as a left winger, are you joking????

I can say no more than ‘I THINK YOU HAVE LOST IT’

End of, that was shocking, and if you think that will win anything , you are delusional my friend, that was really, really crap.

I watched you and Pat from my seat and not one word passed between you , he is safe and so are you, you don’t deserve to be, Song is dreadful and so is Eboue, the crowd told you, and if you were listening, you’d know.

I can’t say anything other than yet again you got it badly wrong and if you continue to play that team then we will win nothing. Grow up, change the team or we will be doomed to 5th place or worse.

I know this will bring out the AKB’s, but hell, what do you expect? I was there, they weren’t, I read the programme notes and Song has a feature in it like he was Dennis Bergkamp, are you all watching the same player? I sat with my mate in the middle, so we saw the whole 9 yards, I said watch every thing he touches, and apart from a one two, he was embarrassing, he only looked less bad when you brought Eboue on, right wing, are you mad? Why did you buy Ramsey? He is 10 times better, he must be thinking, fuck, I should have gone to ManU.

I started this last night after the game and I was angry, really angry, I said stop! Write this again at 4am, you’ll calm down, you’ll feel better, I’m now at the airport waiting to fly to Spain, it’s 5.58am, I thought I would be Ok, like hell, I feel like we lost, you know why? Because we should have.

Scolari is saying he’ll win fuck all if the chavs don’t buy two players, the spuds are going to sign Downing for Β£12 mil, Us, no, we don’t need anyone, because we believe in this team, great, everyone else is wrong, but you Arsene, are right.

Ken Friar was walking round the new CEO in Diamond club saying hello, my mate grabbed my arm and said, please don’t Geoff…

Have a nice day, I sure as hell won’t.

imagine Lads if we did end up signing Baptista,

he could have been partnering Cesc in the middle? how do u think that could have pand out? Better or Worse then Song, and Denilson at times. ???

  2. uba

are the writers fucking racists or something on this blog…Song was the best player on the pitch..winning tackles, beating heskey to balls in the air, charging forward and intercepting balls..I am disgusted by the hatred shown towards Song…Van persie was terrible, missing chances, not tracking back or defending from the front,…yet you fools pick on eboue and song…whoever said racism has left england is a big fool

  3. Rasputin

LG is receiving a bit of a bashing on the Goonerholic site. I have posted the comment below on that site. It is an honest representation of how I feel and not as extreme or abusive as some of the anti LG posts I have read on there – I wonder what response I will get??

“IMO it is not right to boo one of your own players, but football is a game that engenders an emotional response and fans (supporters/call them what you like) that have paid a lot of money and looked forward to the game all week chose to demonstrate their displeasure vocally. Although Eboue suffered the abuse, a lot of fans were unhappy for a much deeper reason. Eboue is a decent right back, he is OK in central midfield or even right midfield – left midfield is not his position. To bring him back after a 5 week lay-off and play him out of position was asking for trouble. I am not the manager, but a lot of people thought that there were at least three preferable options.

    1. Move Denilson to the left and play Eboue on the right.
    2. Play Vela at left midfield where he is more comfortable.
    3. Play Ramsey at left midfield.

It was not Eboue’s fault, but once again our team lacked balance because players were played out of position.”

Uba .. Like we have never supported Henry, Vieira, Rocastle, Thomas, Davis, Campbell, and anyone in a arsenal shirt…You my friend are having a tin bath….

its got nothing to do with Color my friend. the simple Fact is.
THEY BOTH HAVE BEEN CONSISTENTLY SHIT ALL SEASON.

would you like me to name you some Non Black players who have been Shit aswell???

    Alminua. SHIT,
    Nikki B SHIT.
RvP. Partly SHIT most of the times. with row Z free kicks.

look! if u dont like what people say. you know what u can do?
and thats close ur eyes and not read it. Simple. if not then Pres that X icon in the top right corner, other then that carry on talking things Arsenal and dont get ur INTERNET FEELING HURT πŸ™‚

    Keyser,
Anyone will do better. At least they’ll not buy kids and they will not bullshit the fans.
“Mental strenght, too young, quality, ” Should have put Guardiola’s name there. He has restored steel in Barca defense and the sharpness of their attack. The guy was not that well know b4 Barca got him. Is there anyone who still doubts about replacement for Wenger?

  7. Keyser

Paulinho – Heh, I thought I’d missed your post or something.

Injuries are not as irrelevant as you are making out.

The point on Rosicky may have something to it but nowhere near enough to form any sort of definitive opinion however good a study of the game you think they are. We’ll never know how well Hleb could have played alongside a midfield of Diarra, Gilberto and Eboue.

  8. Keyser

Confidentgoner – Seriously what are you on about..

Guardiola was not well known ? Heh, I don’t get what you mean ? You do know who he is and where he came from right and why he’s at Barcelona and how much money they’ve actually spent this year ?!

Song took another step forward yesterday in his improvement and many people have come onto this site and stated just that, myself included but lets be clear we are still some way off being able to use adjectives like commanding. Geoff simply doesn’t rate him no more no less.

  12. patthegooner

What the Fuck has Eboue and Song being shit got to do with being Racist.

UBA you are so mistaken, I personally think Denilson and RVP are not good enough either, does that make racist or do I just hate everyone. I take it we hated the likes of Vieira, Henry and Ian Wright when they were at the club. What about Rocky Rocastle and Mickey Thomas…….

    or

am I just stating my opinion.

    You are so wrong UBA

And sorry Avenell I just noticed you posted most of this

  13. Rasputin

Hi avenell – yes, I tried to post serious comments on that site before I found LG, but the whole ‘virtual bar’ thing is a bit pathetic and I couldn’t bring myself to join in with it. However, Mr ‘holic himself seems a decent guy and he is happy with his circle of contributors. I don’t think he’s trying to break any records for mass posting.

I don’t agree with a lot of what is said on here, but I like the fact that everone is required to treat others with respect and we have a good laugh once in a while too…..

  14. Paulinho

Keyser, it’s about off the ball movement. Hleb has the mentality of a playmaker who is not interested in scoring in the slightest. He devotes his game to popping up around that area thirty-twenty yards from goal and picking the ball up in pockets of space and linking play up and allowing the team to slowly move up the pitch – especially the full backs. All he needs is simple passes as his movement does the work.

Rosicky can do it to a lesser extent but he has a hunger for getting in behind the defence and going for goal. Instead of dropping deep knitting play together he will go through long periods of staying high up the field waiting to be served.

That’s why I know our game wouldn’t have suffered as it did in those games- games if Hleb was there in the ‘hole’. It’s his mentality and off the ball movement. Diarra and Eboue were present a week before at Villa and it was Hleb’s link up with Eboue that led to Sagna’s cross for Ade’s headed goal.

    Confidentgoner-
I respect Your view but I think it’s too early to say, that Guardiola would be perfect replacement for Wenger. Martin O’ Neil would be my choice, or Brian Laudroup. The first one has won many trophies with Celtic and has played in Uefa cup final with them. Also, he always wants to have a strong, quality defence- something Wenger don’t even want take into consideration. It’s funny, because Arsene has played as cd or cdm, and he really dosn’t trust in defense. He always wants to entertain, but sometimes it’s better to win 1:0 than 2:1.

  16. Confidentgoner

    keyser,

He was a good footballer (midfielder period) but not a top coach. his coaching career is not more than 3years old. I would not have recommended him for AFC, but look how good he has been for Barca. It shows what sticking tothe basics can do for you in this game. The known coaches will be guys like Capello, Lippi, fergosen, Jo Mo etc

  17. Rasputin

Hi London – yes I posted on there 20 minutes ago and so far no response – which is par for the course because its not a ‘busy’ site. It annoyed me that people had been allowed to post abusive comments about bloggers on LG and no-one had looked deeper into the circumstances that led to Eboue getting booed.

Hi Paulinho – I’m not going to cover old ground, you know how I feel about discussing players who left because they didn’t want to play for us. So if it is possible to look forward, what do you think about retaining the likes of talented yet injury prone players like Rosicky and Diaby? Hleb can’t do it for us from another team and they can’t do it from the treatment room!

Paulinho – I wouldn’t dispute that, it’s pretty obvious when you look at the qualities of each of the players but then Rosicky has played the central role for his national side and excelled there to he is just a more direct player like you say and doesn’t place priority to knitting together intricate patterns. His link up play may not be as good but he can still hold onto a ball, has enough pace to beat a player or get on the end of a through ball.

  27. Keyser

As for the Villa game, we’ve been over this, compare tha front 6 and Hleb and Rosciky’s roles in each of the games, you can draw comparison’s but i don’t they’d be fair ones, we all know their indvidual qualites but both needed the players around them to make it happen.

  28. Paulinho

Wenger needs to move those players out Rasputin. Too injury prone and in Diaby’s case, not worth perserving with anyway due to inconsistency and general laziness.

That’s the area that’s killing this side, the wings. Problem is, there is a dearth of quality wide players in europe who can create moves and momentum and link with players inside them. Hence why Barca took one of the best off us.

I don’t know who we can buy. I haven’t been that impressed with anyone this season, maybe Gourcuff or if we could nab Giovincio.

  29. Maciek

    Well, Doublegooner,
O’Neil would be my choice. He has won many trophies with Celtic, he understands english football, and he cares about defense. Villa have Cuellar and Davis, they are both great defenders, and MON is a winner.

  30. Rasputin

I agree Paulinho and we will have to take 3rd/4th/5th place behind the likes of man city, chelsea or even the spuds when it comes to bidding for any decent wide players that may be available.

  31. bergkamp

eboue is demoralised, imagine you was 20-22 and your team signed the best right back that youd never heard of and fucked up your arsenal career, then to make matters worse the boss even took kolo out of the middle and risked senderos rather than pick you when sagna is injured, eboue doesnt need the fans bullyin him also,an eboue is for life not just for using an abusin when your best players are on the sicklist as usual

  32. bergkamp

well even if arsenal did have the money oneil wouldnt attract any decent players and you might as well cash in on the cescs and the clichys because oneil wouldnt impress them

  33. hughsie

“That’s the area that’s killing this side, the wings. Problem is, there is a dearth of quality wide players in europe who can create moves and momentum and link with players inside them. Hence why Barca took one of the best off us.” – paulinho.

Are you seriously suggesting that Hleb was a good winger? You’re off your rocker, Hleb only and i mean only played well for us when he was in the middle behind the strikers, he was awful on the wings because he cant pass the ball more than 15 feet, was never quick enough to get around behind anyone and couldn’t deliver a cross to save himself.

His best and only ability is with the ball at his feet, drawing defenders too him at the top of the box and slipping a ball through into the space he’d created. God, you know it’s bad when fans are extolling the virtues of Hleb on the WING.

  34. Paulinho

Keyser, one is less reliant on other players than the other though. In my opinion anyway. That’s a no brainer really when you consider their strengths. Without a class midfield Rosicky wouldn’t get as much opportunities to score goals like he did versus Bolton and Man City in 2006/2007, however with a simpleton midfield Hleb could still recieve five-ten yard passes to link play together. When no players are available to lay off to, he dribbles until there is.

Whether you rate one player higher is a different matter. I personally have Rosicky a whisker behind, just because there are more players of his type in europe so he’s easier to replace.

  35. peachesgooner

Rasputin – its really sad to think that creative players would choose to go to man city, chelsea or even the spuds over us. Do you think we arn’t attractive anymore or does it come down to money.

  36. Paulinho

Hughsie, Hleb could still do a similar job on the wing but not as good as in the hole I agree. He played on the left versus Brum at the Emirates and was electrifying in the first half and was also named man of the match when we beat Blackburn at the Emirates in Feb playing on the left.

The point in the main is, we’re missing that second ‘shadow’ playmaker to take the heat off Cesc when he’s getting shafted up the backside by the opposition.

  37. Rasputin

Call me a cyic peaches, but I think it has more to do with the money these days – that’s why we are an attractive proposition to young players because they know we will provide excellent training and development and a shop window to display their skills for any future suitors.

I don’t hink any prospective player would have been encouraged to join us on the strength of yesterday’s display.

  38. bergkamp

rasputin, but the games that are broadcast worldwide like afc chelsea or afc manure were doing ok,yesterdays game is a nothing game, just win is all!

  39. Stu

Its the same story for Hleb and Flamini in a way. Both chose to leave in the smmer and both only really had one good season. Flamini was only a fixture in the team last year and although Hleb was already a starter he never did much to impress. His ball retention was much better last year. Its annoying that they all want to leave after one good season. It shows that some players see us as a stepping stone to a “bigger” club. Flamini, Hleb and even Ade wanted to go but nothing materialised.

  40. bergkamp

i still think if we scored the second goal that game takes a different twist an looks much better, even eboue might not have got attacked

  41. Maciek

    Bergkamp.
For many years it were only two kids on the block, it was two horse race, between Arsenal and MU, and Wenger managed to win a Premier League only 3 times. He has never won back to back titles, and he was second best for many years. He is the only manger, who has played with 3 european finals, and failed to win any of them( Arsenal and Monaco). O Neil has won a European Cup with Forest as a playerand many trophies with Celtic,

  42. bergkamp

2 kids on the block, them massive amounts of money turned up,maciek if we bought every trophy would you feel proud?,if you were a chelsea fan for 50 years would you feel proud or would you feel you waited 50 years an couldnt do it the proper way?

  43. ethangunner

    paulinho

you really need to let go of hleb now thou πŸ™‚

the love affair is officially over ! just like flamini , i cant see them return ! EVER !
and i personally doubt we will get any signing of significance in jan ..

its denilson or the highway i think !

unless wenger buys an average veteran . in the silvestre mold .
but who would leave a club this time of the year who is an influential 1st teamer to join us ?
maybe someone who wont renew there contact … or more boys from Brazil ..

but i cant see any influential stars joining the ranks .. and if we did man shitty would buy them 1st and for more $$$

  44. bergkamp

maciek,if you was a chelsea fan could you even say yes definantly if i asked you if chelsea will still be a football club in ten years?

  45. Rasputin

Hi bergie – you may be right, but I’d have thought that a player would scratch a little deeper than just the odd televised game when choosing to join a new club or not. Agents are mainly just greedy bastards that are only interested in the money and can do a lot to harm a player’scareer.

  46. peachesgooner

I was at the game yesterday and still can’t understand why the passion was missing.

It was a nice day, the sun was shining, the sky was blue, 60,000 odd supporters had turned out to cheer the team and they were completely flat. They couldn’t be asked to do more than was necessary.

  47. Queen of Suburbia

A quick comment on the booing.

I’ve been struggling all day to ocme up with a collective comment to define the group of people that boo an Arsenal player.

    Then it hit me.

    “Our opponents”.

    Night all.

  48. AFC4Life

I agree the Wigan game was shit, but at least we won. I think Wenger made a mistake in bringing on Eboue, but I wouldn’t have said he’s lost it. All that matters at the moment is that we build on the Chelsea win, and go on a bit of a run. If we have to grind out the odd result, like Wigan, then so be it, Man Utd struggked against Sunderland and they are a worse team than Wigan.

I do hope Wenger gives the likes of Ramsey, Wilshere, Simpson and Vela more of a chance in the next few weeks. Wilshere can cover Theo/Rosicky/Nasri a lot better than the likes of Eboue can. Ramsey might be too like Cesc to play alongside him, but I’d still prefer him on the pitch to Song (nothing to do with race uba, he’s just not very good). I just can’t understand why Bendtner is keeping Simpson and Vela out of the team. We need Eduardo back, he was really starting to make a difference for us before the Birmingham match in February.

  49. bergkamp

cheer the team?? i didnt hear no one hardly cheering the team an i sit in the poorest damn seats where even the drunks sit peaches, but song had a good game, rvp should have changed the atmosphere, everyone is nervous, thats the problem

  50. Keyser

Paulinho – Dammit I wrote a post and it’s just disappeared, he was less relient you’re right but he wasn’t completely self sufficient, without the right players around him we were going nowhere. He didn’t dribble past players and score goals or even to get himself into a better scoring opportunity he did it so that the team could weave the intricate patterns that everyone praised us for and said was our ultimate weakness in the end.

All I’m saying is that he was a whisker in front of say Rosikcy but he wasn’t head and shoulders above anyone, he was not a Pires or a Giggs and while his role was important it wasn’t the be all and end all.

  51. bergkamp

peaches,a poor display with a 3-0 scoreline id accept,id still have my fingernails an i wouldnt have nearly have fallen off the smokers wagon,we cant have it all!

  52. bergkamp

the funniest thing is everyone was booooin eboue, but some pricks after had a good moan about you dont boo your own,i think they had a guilty concience,i didnt boo,i did think thank fuck for that (or shout)

  53. peachesgooner

Bergie – you are right it was exceptionally quiet yesterday but thats not the intention when we pitch up is it? I admit I go with the expectation of being entertained but I also want to be able to cheer and sing my support. Yesterday it was very hard to be enthusiastic.

  54. peachesgooner

I didn’t boo eboue but I did think thank goodness he can’t do any more damage.

He shouldn’t have been on the left though in the first place – old comment I know

  55. bergkamp

peaches, theres a bad vibe in the stadium,it never reached highbury,i think the stadium is definantly or gift and our curse,no disrespect to some paying people but the fans who have been goin years have been spread fan and wide around the stadium and are seperated by newbies who have only come to arsenal to see thierry henry an julio the beast lol

  56. bergkamp

the stadium is full of pricks who think they know best, and full of damn old grannys who want to sip tea, arsenal should pack all the oap’s into a knitting section, put the kids back in a family enclosure and stop people from buying tickets online and make them que the fuck up,that would be like a return to the 80’s

  57. Paulinho

    Ethan

It’s more that type of player than the player but because there seems to be a lack of that type of player I just say his name πŸ™‚

    Keyser

I never listened to those idiot pundits who said that style was our weakness. With that style we nearly nailed both europe and the league. We were just a a bit of squad depth away, a decent heading centre back away. On the contrary, that intricacy was our X factor, that edge we had over the top teams. We could go to Anfield and make them look like complete mugs for large spells because of that ball retention.

Now, we don’t even that to ball retention to brag about. We’ve diluted ourselves down and made ourselves more like the other teams. Not a good move IMO.

I would argue that if Rosicky had stayed fit or we didn’t have Eboue on the other wing(instead having another quality wide player) we would have won the league.

  58. bergkamp

i feel for eboue,he was doing his best and he was unfit an badly short of confidence, guys like that need to be backed, its not gonna help us in the long run,i remember people used to boo parlour, davis, keown, sooner or later though you need these guys

  59. peachesgooner

I have to say that I did sit with a group of exceptionally grumpy men yesterday, not my usual seat, but I do believe that the feelgood factor is never far away. The passion at the spuds game and the man u game was enormous. As supporters surely we owe it to the team to give them that support every game.

  60. Maciek

    Bergkamp,
My answer is simple. Chelsea are a small club without fan base, and with many plastic supporters. They have won only one Premier League trophy( 2 were bought by Abramowicz). On the other hand, we have a great history, and I’m very pround that I support Arsenal. I have been doing it for 13 years and always be. I don’t want to buy a trophy, I want to win it, but if Wenger buys 4 experienced players, we will be fine and I think that it will not do us any harm. There is a huge gap between buying wisely and buying everyone. I want us to show some ambition. Nothing more, nothing less.

  61. peachesgooner

bergie – cheap shot about elvis, I love The Wonder of You. What would you prefer?

Wheres rasp gone we’re heading into music I fear πŸ™‚

  62. bergkamp

yep peaches, but some fans just want peace and quiet, they would rather sit and eat their hand crafted angus aberdeen steak pie with a knife an fork an its those pricks that the stewards have to cater for

  63. peachesgooner

Bergie – you don’t really mean that – peace and quiet – why go to the game if you don’t want to be part of it. Its not like its an easy experience

  64. Stu

When buying the tickets there should be a allocation of seats. The singing fans should all be out together so that chants will definately be started and they should be put in the part of the stadium with the best akustics. (bad spellings but you know what i mean)

  65. bergkamp

football is the new theatre, when something becomes expensive it becomes prestigous to some people, they think its there for them because they can afford it,the working man breaking a gut to go football doesnt exist in the eyes of these sitdown chaps type fans peaches, they rule

  66. peachesgooner

Do you think the majority of supporters just go to be entertained?

Highbury had its own ‘library’ reputation.

  67. bergkamp

stu they did that before,so many fans who dont sing went into the singing section for the experience an not to sing that it was more silent than the rest of the library

  68. bergkamp

peaches, definantly 100%,i think some even buy season tickets just so they can get a glimpse of ryan giggs an ronaldo an gerard and terry once a year

  69. bergkamp

even in highbury you could que up to buy tickets but the big games were always sold out by telephone, theres a lot of people who buy a season ticket but only want to see 3 games a season

  70. uba

let me referaise my comment..why didn’t you boo van persie who personally I think should have scored a hatrick…but yet you pick on adebayor, gallas, eboue, song, denilson, and the other ones…but thoe doesn;t get picked on cause his fucking english…I just feel that the blog writers show so much hatred towards song that it boders close to racism..I may be wrong..but when last did that happen?

  71. bergkamp

our situation is down to success, our support is 50% new, spurs have a better support because their crap and their fans have to be fanatical just to get out of bed to watch that pile of shyt,if they ever won something the richer people would push a few poor scumbags out of the ticket market

  72. Paulinho

Just buy a few drums and get people to bang it for the duration.

That’s all the teams on the continent do, and they’re seen as passionate.

  73. peachesgooner

I have always found it strange when people have commented negatively to going to a game against Wigan, Stoke, West Brom etc as if its not worth going if the opposition aren’t up to much. I don’t care who we’re playing, I just love going to football.

  74. bergkamp

i think rvp is shyt, like ian wright he will always do well but no other forward will benefit from playin with him because he is a greedy me me me prick

  75. bergkamp

peaches, its the way it is,everyone wants to win something, but i know half our support would fuck off if we didnt win the league for another 20 years, including a few grovers, the prices would drop, the average gooner could get back to bringing their children

  76. Stu

    Bergkamp,
I agree about RvP. He is really greedy and it affects the team. I wouldnt be suprised if he actually tries to score his corners. He is very much the opposite of Wenger ball. Dont pass just always shoot, thats vans philosophy.

  77. bergkamp

paulinho, our stadium has banned drums due to demand from people attending the matches, even the man who rings the bell at portsmouth recieved complaints

  78. Keyser

Paulinho – I never listened either, there’s plenty of stats to show different only Tottenham scored more goals from crosses than us last season. Though I can understand why they played on it because people don’t always appreciate players like Hleb running things behind the scenes they want someone who will curl a 40 yard shot into the top corner, it’s just easier to look at, admire and point to.

There is something to it I suppose in the way that we could demolish Liverpool the season before with exceptional play from Individuals instead of the team work.

We still created chances and I think any little edge could have made the difference, Rosicky staying fit or even Edaurdo being on the end of some of those chances,

  79. bergkamp

i like van,he has much talent, more than ade,but ade has to accept his left foot isnt amazing and he should be more creative before he talks about emulating bergkamp, bergkamp could play total football and would even track back into a full back or sweepers position if he lost possesion

  80. Keyser

We need to transfer in the guy from Portsmouth with the bell, I’m sure everyone would love that.

Is there any history of racism at Arsenal ? Seriously ?!

  81. peachesgooner

Uba – this blog is in no way about picking on players for their nationality. Song comes in for stick because many of us feel that hes just not good enough, in the same way Nikki B came in for stick following the CC game.

Eboue was played out of position yesterday but he should still be able to play with skill and ability don’t you think?

  82. Stu

Dennish Bergkamp was a true legend. He was easily one of the best ever footballers and to make him even better he was humble too. Van Persie is good but is far to arrogant, same for most of the footballers of today.

  83. Paulinho

bergkamp, I’ve seen Ade play lazy as well. He’s not the workaholic he was when he first joined.

RVP doesn’t have to work as hard as Ade because he’s more talented. Ade wouldn’t get out of ligue two if he didn’t work his hide off.

  84. bergkamp

peaches song was only fit enough to play for 20 minutes ,30 max,and song played well , he was mentioned badly in this piece i think today

  85. Stu

Ever since last season ended and even a bit before that, Ades workrate has dropped an amazing amount. Whereas he used to run all game now he is either offside or waiting on the left wing for the ball.

  86. bergkamp

we play a different game now, ade’s workrate upped when the team got tired in the second half of last season,he needs to build momentum,he will do it again,he shouldnt have to because he should have a partner this year

  87. Stu

Van doesnt really score no matter who he is with. Even though he is a forward his record is something like 35goals in 100games. Not that good considering who he plays for and the most he got for us in a season was about 15.

  88. bergkamp

its comments like that van doesnt need to work hard because he has more talent that make me realise that some fans are chimps

  89. bergkamp

peaches,he hasnt trained for 3 weeks, eboue shouldnt have been played for that amount of time, his tiredness killed any concentration he had

  90. Keyser

Stu – If you ever get the chance ESPN usually do a replay of the game at the Emirates where we beat United 2-1, the energy Adebayor was running around with is amazing, he was running 40 yards to pick up the ball and hand it to the player taking the throw in.

With Adebayor I don’t think you put in performances like that week in week out it must take a lot out of you if you’re running around endlessly during the whole game, so I think he’s decided to refine other aspects of his game, he keeps passes simple, has about 8 or 9 assists on the season and yesterday did he get caught offside ?!

  91. bergkamp

imagine paulinho if cesc refused to tackle because he has more talent?? or didnt put in a premier league 8 mile record because he has more talent, use you brains this isnt brazil

  92. Paulinho

bergkamp the point still stands. Does Ade line up for Holland? No. Yet RVP keeps banging them in for them. It’s about service and movement from midfield.

Ade does do well for RVP. I’ll give him that.

  93. bergkamp

adebayor is a victim of his own success last season,he did it because we needed him and everyone else is injured, and now he is a cunt for doing it then?? when will van shoulder some of the burden?? where was van against man city?? or against sunderland with his hatrick of sitters?? or wigan?? where was the talent against fulham with the best two chances of the game?

  94. bergkamp

peaches, ian wright won many golden boots, the season before we signed ian wright alan smith won it,the followin season with ian wright alan smith scored about 5 goals an we didnt go near the title until he was almost out of the team

  95. peachesgooner

bergie – its unrealistic to expect all chances to become goals – when vp missed a couple yesterday I reminded myself that he scored 2 last week against the chavs πŸ™‚

Saying that – I do find it very annoying when so many chances go begging

  96. Paulinho

You don’t have to run around like a lunatic to be a good striker. RVP got a great chance on sat due to standing still and waiting for Fabregas to pick him out. His finishing is just a bit erratic but he always gets into the right positions and has 7 in 12. Not bad. Also a great corner taker.

  97. avenell

Bergkamp… that wasn’t just Wrighty’s fault.. The midfield between “91” and “97” must take some of the blame..

  98. bergkamp

peaches, most of vans misses are off target, thats the worst thing, its a crime to put a so called cultured left boot infront of goal and he misses the target, this guys foot is spoken of like a piece of gold and he misses the target more often than he hits it , when your top man cant hit the target you start to think hmmmm should have played it to ade

  99. peachesgooner

bergie – sometimes i reckon the journos have watched a different game when you read about it the next day!!!!

  100. bergkamp

avenell yes its true, but sometimes the teams can be dominated by one personality and the whole teams channels everything to one player, kevin cambell was a quality forward and so was smith together, add ian wright and its almost sad to see them looking so clumsy

  101. bergkamp

frank lampard scores a lot of goals because he hits the target,he will hit 10 shots ,all on target,2 will go in,its law of averages, van will hit 8 shots, two straight aat the keeper, 5 over the bar,and one goal

  102. peachesgooner

bergie – thats what I find so annoying, he must know where the goal is, he should hit the target more often

  103. john

all stop chatting about about eboue who cares hes not good enough booing aint polite but he was crap. we need to spend money and bendtner can go moscow!!!! we need 3 more players hopefully with experience, sort it out wenger stop trying to prove something its been to long and we are not playing the best football at the moment its boring! same old excuse we were not consistent or we lacked quality

  104. avenell

I never rated KC he got in the way of Cole who got shipped out to Bristol City or somewhere..

But Wenger sure knew when to take a job on.. Look what rioch left him!!

  105. bergkamp

peaches the thing is the journalists have to cater to certain people, a lot of people love to hate arsenal but arsenal and the world wont admit this, chelsea love to think their hated but their not hated, just disliked because they were irrelivent then ruined the league and the transfer market in world football,i dunno which paper gives an honest arsenal write up, i think even mr geoff should hold his hands up an say it was wrong to say it was like 10 men with song, especially in his opening lines,it was biased

  106. bergkamp

andy cole was sold for stealing ian wrights harley davidson watch and they already knew he was stealing and selling footballs up highbury fields

  107. Neamman

The morons who booed Eboue are the same morons who sit on their hands the whole game and never cheer the team. Call themselves supporters?? Why dont they F*** off to see Chelsea or MU. I hate spurs but at least their fans bring passion to the game and support their players while the game is on.
Yesterday was an absolute disgrace for AFC and makes us the laughing stock of the EPL.
An absolute bloody DISGRACE!!! I am sure players like Cesc, RVP etc are thinking..do I really want to play in front of these so called “fans”???

  108. bergkamp

hughsie, what ,that van misses the target too often from even a few yards?? have you only seen the chelsea game this season?

  109. bergkamp

kevin cambell was a good forward,an animal when he first got in the team, i like merson up front in the early days though

  110. peachesgooner

I like the reporting in The Times, the journos are consistant in their appreciation of our fabulous football – not had a lot to say lately – they give the team credit where its due and lately have criticised Wenger for his strange team selection and tactics.

Most of their writing is intelligent and insightful IMO

  111. bergkamp

van should definantly practice them freekicks or step aside and let someone else at least have a go,kolo had a better ratio for smashing them on target

  112. avenell

I liked Merson as a forward he scored a goal in the charity shield but I didn’t think he had enough chances up front..
