Kids to spank Pompey?

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Well I hope you all had a good Christmas and did the family thing as today it’s back to normal!

Good news is we’re are on Sky, bad news is, it’s 7.45pm, so it’s a long wait.

We need to pick up points over Christmas, the other two (2nd and 3rd placed teams) have a reasonably easy run so we need to nail a few points on the board to stay ahead.

I have a feeling we’ll play something like the side that beat Blackburn away, not as young, but a mixture.

I expect Ade to have Bendtner up front with Diaby and Diarra in midfield with Hleb and Cesc.

Kolo and Billy at the back with Traore and Hoyte at full back.

Pompey are there to be taken but Everton will be tough, so if we can start with 3 points tonight, I’ll be more than happy.

If we play 4-5-1 though, we will struggle.

Not a lot of news out there today Grovers, but I’m sure there will be tomorrow.

Happy Boxing day and enjoy the Turkey tonight.

this is the first time I’ve been sober since Christmas eve! not sure about the last comment on yesterdays blog, so looked forward to this one coming out.

Think we need to attack them as they will attack us. Tough one but I’m going for a close game 2-1 Arsenal.

    What? Traore? No Flamini? What?

I know Pompey have been having a poor run of late but they will be no pushovers. They’re best away from home but, even though they’re at home, we’re capable of forcing many home teams to play like away teams, so it could be quite a tough game. I expect a near full strength team to play. I might be wrong though.

May feign illness to avoid the Aunts and Uncles this evening, and instead skulk down to the pub

Good word skulk. Going to do that more I think

As for the game, please let it 4-4-2. If no RvP, then unleash he of the big bollocks alongside Ade

Well heres what the bookies say

The Arsenal v Portsmouth odds for this live Arsenal Portsmouth betting Premier League match reflect the results last weekend. With Arsenal now capable to get results from tough matches like they did against Tottenham at the weekend the bookies are giving nothing away with odds of 4/5 on for the Gunners to win at Fratton Park.
Arsenal go into the Christmas period with a 1 point advantage over Man Utd, following their victory over Spurs, but for many this game swung on one moment, when Robbie Keane missed his penalty and a few minutes later Arsenal took full advantage by scoring with a Nicklas Bendtner header with 14 minute to go.
(THought the following point was interesting)
This is just the type of event that shapes a season for a team, as was the case with Man Utd last year when they kept scoring vital goals in the dying minutes of their games.
Sorry geoff cant look at any more Fuckin Turkey let alone eat it !

Ausgunner I’m only guessing no Flamini as he will try and rotate with such a tough week.

If you’re right with the bookies odds Mike we should be Ok but it’s a tough call down there.

The last time I remember us being convincing at Fratton Park was when TH14 was clapped off the pitch and we stuffed the in the FA cup.

I hope it’s as sunny in Spain as it is in England today.

Jimmy, avoid the family thing tonight, we’re going to need all the good vibes we can get, Harry will wind them up for this one and there are 3 ex Arsenal players in their side.

the same team as against spurs will play. no need to play anything else as this is a must win game. the 1st team regulars (hleb, fab, flam etc) will get a rest after the West Ham game over the period of 2 weeks when there are just cup games – and mostly cup games in January.

Its important to get full points this week

  7. grovedigger

yeah, good call stevo, but with Everton coming up in 3 days, I hope they’re all fit.

Can’t understand the RVP thing though.

same team that beat Spuds should play. No need to tinker coz Pompey are no mugs and can hurt anybody. They hit Blackburn 4 goals and started their slide. I believe we should go at them with full range of Hleb, Rossicky, Fab and Flam supported by Ade and Van Persie. This will ensure 3 points coz Everton is a different ball game altogether.

    Have a nice one

    Kids to spank Pompey!!!

    How wrong could he be?

Full strength Arsenal side fail to create chances against injury ravaged pompey defence!

Sol Campbell – rock at the back and Pompey got him for FA!!!
