‘Values’ tourettes is usually code for bad news

Come on, you know the drill by now, when Arsene is backed into a corner, or he’s caught dropping a whoopsie on a season, he plays the values card. He’s Eddie Murphy…

‘Baby, I f*cked her, yeah, I f*cked her… but I make love to you’

Being told about values is a code word for…

‘We’re fucking awful, but look, we do it with integrity’

Take a read of his latest on the contract rebels.

“I want to keep my best players – my only target is to keep everyone on board. We’ve invested time and money and confidence on players like Ox and they have a responsibility. I hope he commits.

“One of the values of this club is to give a chance to young players, and if you have too many players of confirmed status you are in a difficult position. We have three or four [young players] who deserve a chance.”

I’m not sure giving young players a chance is a club value? It’s a loose strategy plenty of clubs engage in. The average age of our squad is 27.1 years old, it’s the 9th oldest squad in the Premier League. Average age of all the squads in the league is 26.8. United, Spurs, Chelsea, City, and Liverpool all boast younger squads. So it really is a stretch to say we’re a club that values the youth these days.

It’s very difficult to pinpoint what exactly the values of Arsenal are. Sure, we give a lot of time to charity organizations. We’re a club built on class. The people who work there are all lovely and care deeply about what happens in and around the organisation. We try to do things the right way. But at it’s core, we’re not really built on the values of being the best sporting entity. We’re not operating on sporting values. We’re not even operating on meritocratic values.

Wenger is empty words.

Words have to mean something. I’d truly appreciate it if someone made Arsene sit down and establish what his vision was. What is the clubs mission statement? Push him on a strategic roadmap for how he plans to enact that north star. Map out the values he truly cherishes, and make sure it’s communicated to everyone who works at the club.

‘Remember who you are, what you are, and who you represent’

I think those are George Graham words passed off as a David Rocastle quote. I love them regardless because I think we used to stand for something. I’m not sure most players could truly answer what Arsenal represent these days. That’s sad, because if there’s no vision, to guiding principles, or even a basic plan in place… it really is hard to get anyone to believe in the cause.

Arsenal don’t need a manager with a mega reputation. They need a manager with a philosophy and a vision. Someone who can craft a three-year plan of where we’re going as a club. Someone who strictly enforces values. Someone who can take the club to the next level, is the next level is the next level.

Reading Arsene’s comments about values and how pleased he is with the work he’s done is just a sad indictment of a man who is in survival mode. Terrible to watch.

Right, that’s me done.

    Pedro

All I am saying is have some emergency beers in the fridge for when Wilshere and Ozil’s new deals drop. Apparently Ozil is going to be offered close to or bang on £300 000 a week.

I mean, f**k. We’re just burning the stuff Joker in The Dark Night style now.

If Oxlade goes to Chelsea or Liverpool and ends up less money, that is a massive shot at Wenger as he is being indulged now and is being offer staggeringly crazy money.

  2. ArseneisaFraud

Re the Ox, i think it has more to do with his father. His father has finally cottoned on as to what is going on and is egging his son to move somewhere where he can finally progress into the player we all hoped he’d become and hold down a role,

The Ox has really has been messed about by AW in his career at the club.

  3. reality check

At the start of every season UNTOLD trolls come over in 2 or 3s and try to unsettle the blog.

Pedro probably knows who they are the day they start posting. But he lets them play. Why? I’d guess for justification.

Became boring in the end. Notice Wallace and Alex have no problem maneuvering their way around Legrove. If you’re a Wenger supporter, thats fine. Just don’t be a prick about it.

    Fair play.

Moving on. Giroud is probably one of the best 2nd strikers/Substitute Strikers in the league. All he needs is 10- 20mins. For this, I’m cool with Giroud being at Arsenal now. We just need a proper WC CF. Lacazette i feel will end up on the Left.

  4. graham62

    Don just didn’t get it.

His assumptions, as well as those of several other bloggers on le-grove,were that we were all being far too negative, which infact, could not be further from the truth.

Blaming Wenger is merely highlighting the core problem that is evident to us all. He has, unfortunately, become a disagreeable parasite over these past few seasons, eating away at the ethos and principles of this great club.

Unless this negative influence is removed, the club will never move forward. This, infact, is being PROGRESSIVE, although AKB’s would argue the case, and highlights quite clearly that the vast majority of supporters are disallusioned and fed up with the dictatorial regime that Wenger has created.

Do I want Arsenal to lose to Liverpool on sunday, of course not! However, if it means that it brings Wengers inevitable departure a step closer, I will happily take it……………… HOOK, LINE AND SINKER.

  5. Ofebs

Wenger is an empty barrel, a noisy gong, an aimless arrow, a fake and faulty record player.

A shameless man willfully destroying his legacy, the careers of promising young players, and a century old football institution, just to massage his inflated ego.

  6. Cesc Appeal

If we get £35 Million for Oxlade go straight out and start trying to make moves happen for someone like Danilo from Porto or Diawara from Napoli and we will jst have to keep our fingers crossed Bellerin pulls his head out of his arse at RWB.

  7. reality check

You know why Wenger will always have an ‘out’ with his supporters. It’s taking advantage of the unknown.

Arsenal are huge, with 3,4,5 days left we can easily walk into Basel and take a CB stroll over to some french league 2 team and take a CM. Then the P.R spin promotes the unknown.

“We believe XYZ has shown great maturity at Basel and ‘could’ be a great addition to our squad.

“XYZ has been playing in the French 2nd division but we believe he has the ability and mental strength to make the step up.”

Now we here at Legrove will say, “who the f*** is this guy?. We need established players!”
Wherein the wenger supporters will say,
“hey, you don’t know, this player ‘could’ be good. He ‘could’ turn out to be like Koz.
Look at El Neny, decent tidy player, and he only cost 5M. You don’t know the future!”

Wenger will say, just because he cost 10M doesn’t mean he’s not an exceptional player.
Then that player more often than not becomes dedwood, but because neither AKB or WOB can definitely say what the future of XYZ player will be.. we’re left at a standstill. Until the end of the season where the cycle starts all over again.

  8. Adam A. Carbarundum

“Words have to mean something. I’d truly appreciate it if someone made Arsene sit down and establish what his vision was.”

Well yeah, Pedro…Would and is that someone supposed to be your man, Ivan Gazidis? Is that not what someone in his position supposed to do? After all, his title on any other team would mean exactly that.

  9. Adam A. Carbarundum

I can’t honestly imagine anything worse right now than being an Arsenal supporter watching this nonsense unfold yet again.

Wait, I can imagine worse…having to read daily the absolute and utter ridiculous nonsense that come out of the twin uneducated buffoons otherwise known as Champagne Charlie and his pet monkey, Little Donny Osmond. What the F did any do to deserve those two morons!

  10. Marko

If Alexis turned down 340,000 a week it kind of shits all over the idea that it’s about money for him. Lad wants out and I honestly can’t blame him. Worst season in 20 years and dropping out of the champions league and your manager buys two players and says he’s happy with his window. This club has absolutely no right to claim it’s ambitious anymore

  11. Nigel Tufnel

I’ve defended Wenger for years, but if he doesn’t bring in a cm this window, I’m done.

I’m not asking for anything else. Just a cm. Only an attacker if Alexis is sold.

Sell Chamberlain for over 30 m, can’t let him screw us over and leave for free.

  12. Nigel Tufnel

    Cesc,
You are one of the people who foolishly inflates numbers. There is no chance we offered ox 180k.

i know big numbers are exciting to talk about, but use some common sense. You and others here always inflating Walcotts, Giroud salaries. Get your info fron fourfourtwo and goal, com.

Dont ask me the actual price, but most of us have an idea, though NOBODY here knows exactly. All i know is that you’re way off.

Always as part of a negative swipe at the club. We have enough problems without you hoping their worse.

But your point IS totally valid about the slap in the face to Arsene, even though your numbers are wrong.

  13. PieAFC

It’s not even conjecture anymore, the fact remains, clear as day.

When your top players do not want to sign on, players of ox’s ilk also wish to leave, that says it all about the club, where it’s heading and how much certain players clearly do not believe in Wenger anymore.

If I was Ox and had the chance to go Liverpool or Chelsea, I’d take it.

Under Klopp or Conte he’d flourish. Everyone knows this.

We’ve become a sad pathetic existence for a club now. Only going to get worse.

Everton will over take us in the next few years if we’re not careful…. they are now where we were around 95-96, Bergkamp in, slowly building the team, PV4 following year. (albeit the history with as many trophies etc)

If they buy right, as they’re doing. It will be on….

  14. Wallace

“As it stands, Koeman runs rings around Wenger and at least Pullis would maximize the teams efficiency.”

    christ…

  15. Wallace

    Pedro

guessing you’ve deleted the posts where Don’s insulting you, but it does seem generally that you’re far quicker to ban a foul-mouthed ‘AKB’ than you are a foul-mouthed ‘WOB’. does make for quite a one-sided – and boring – comments section.

  16. Pierre

    Wallace
Agreed..was getting quite entertaining on here.. There’s nothing worse than a KNOB (sorry typo, WOB) gloating.

    Back to the football..
I would leave ozil out of the starting line-up this weekend.. Ineffective against the high press, especially away from home..he will be better used as sub to come on when the game slows down.

  17. TitsMcGee

Worst season in 20 years and dropping out of the champions league and your manager buys two players and says he’s happy with his window. ”

    It’s really comical.

The bar is set so low. By Wenger finishing 5th and incrementally adding to the squad he’s essentially showing what his/our ambitions are. In order to keep players around he tries to overpay them to keep them around. The players who can’t do any better (Walcott, Giroud etc) love this. Sanchez knows better because he played at Barcelona.

  18. TitsMcGee

Put Wenger at Everton and they be 10th-15th.

He can’t win the EPL in 12 seasons at the 6th richest club in the world. What do you think he’ll accomplish at Everton?

Does LCFC win the title if Wenger was managing them that season? Search your soul and be honest.

He’s failing at AFC. He’d fail evendors harder at a club with lesser finances.

  19. Wallace

    Pierre

I’d leave Ozil in. fascinated to see how the new forward line gels. I’d go –

    Cech
    Mustafi – Mertesacker – Koscielny
    Ox – Ramsey – Xhaka – Kolasinac
    Ozil – Lacazette – Alexis

think Wenger will probably pick Monreal over Mertesacker, and there might be a case for going with Bellerin bearing in mind the Ox’s contract situation, but the above’s our best team, I think.

  20. TitsMcGee

Why would we offer OX 180k a week?

He’s not even worth half that. Wenger must be desperate. He’s trying to hang on for 2 more years so he doesn’t care what it takes to do that.

  21. raptora

    Pierre,
Kante + Cesc was so such a bad midfield that we outplayed them, then Burnley with no away win in the EPL last season won over them, so vs Spurs Cesc didn’t even play and Conte went for David Luiz + Bakayoko + Kante in midfield.
There’s a real chance that Cesc + Xhaka would be worse than Ramsey + Xhaka. I don’t like it.

  22. R.S.P.C.Arsenal

    Cesc

There is no way we are getting 35m forbox

Clubs know what goes on behind scenes

Him turning down wages for built in signing on fee at Chelsea says it all

    Good

    As with Sanchez good

The club stinks to the core with wenger .

    Like gramham62 says
    Don’t want to lose Sunday
But if it means a way to the end of wenger then take it all day

Backing the sacking of wengers is what we must unite about

  23. Guernsey gunner

Just watching the way Liverpool took hoffenheim apart in the week. Clueless better have a proper defence set up Sunday or it could be very ugly.

  24. Pierre

    Rspca
“Backing the sacking of wengers is what we must unite about”

    Yawn, boring…

What’s it gonna be this time.. Now let’s see, the protest at the ground didn’t work..
Bamfords(or is it Pedro) on line protest didn’t work..
    The plane flyover didn’t work..
Standing in the ground with the silly Wenger out signs didn’t work..
    So what next.

  25. raptora

    Samesong,
Probably because le Coq is nothing more but a squad player. We can’t even find him a place in the team with Cazorla and Wilshere injured. He is behind Elneny now as well. But if Xhaka or Ramsey are out he will get minutes. Also Europa League. Average player at best though.

  26. tonyd

The Ox says he wants to leave the club to develop his career and chances to play for England according to John Cross who normally supports Wenger.

Doesn’t trust Wenger with his career then not even for £180k a week.

No doubt Karim and Pierre will have a spin on this story to show what a great developer of players careers Wenger is. Probably have to go back as far as Henry, but it’ll give us something to laugh about anyway.

    Bring it on boys.

  27. TitsMcGee

Just watching the way Liverpool took hoffenheim apart in the week. Clueless better have a proper defence set up Sunday or it could be very ugly.”

They can’t defend either so we could see a repeat of last season’s opener. High scoring.

  28. Adam A. Carbarundum

Must admit, it was a very strange feeling not seeing “Arsenal” in yesterday’s CL draw. Equally have a feeling it may be awhile before we see their name at a CL draw again.

  29. raptora

Not sure that karim and Pierre are that much of an AKBs. They know what’s up, they’re just not saying the same thing day in day out as the so-called WOBs.

Other posters would think that I’m an AKB. Just a couple of my thoughts on the subject:

I believed that Wenger can bring us back to the glory days but last season turned the table around. This is a manager who is not willing to learn from his mistakes no matter how many times it would go wrong. Favoriting players no matter the form they are and playing them ahead of the ones in form; constantly picking wrong starting lineups; overplaying certain players to the point they end up injured for seasons (Cazorla totally Wenger’s fault); awful transfer windows; close to zero tactics depending on the opponents; bad coaching team that fit his criteria of being “Yes” men; made himself the leader of a failing autocracy; regular dips of form in the same periods of every season; absolutely illogical salary system; has no desire to win at all costs; is okay with being average; cannot motivate the players.

  30. Cesc Appeal

    Nigel

I like how people like you try to claim the monopoly on what is wrong and what is wrong.

Bit of a pro-Wenger trait that, at least I have noticed, you go around saying everything is opinions its all just subjective, which is fair enough, but then you try to pass off your opinions or criticisms as absolute which is as full of shit as your actual opinions and rationale. That you are objective and rational because you once said Wenger puts too much milk in his tea so you are as critical of him as anyone.

Pretty widely reported Arsenal have made a massive offer to Oxlade, far in excess of his on field worth in desperation to keep him, pretty widely reported Arsenal have made several enormous offers to Sanchez of over £300 000, and it is pretty widely reported that Walcott is on something like £140 000 a week.

You can disagree with that and think it is false if you want, but you cannot say absolutely those are fabrications.

Don’t worry though I’m sure Wenger will beat off the ‘competition’ and sign Ozil to a new deal.

  31. Cesc Appeal

I do wonder if this late drive for Sanchez was a tactic from City to really test Arsenal. Late in the window and then offer them something like £60 Million or £70 Million for a player they know in a few days time they lose on a free.

Really interesting that one, Wenger knows without Sanchez this team smacks of average and so needs him to avoid collapse, at the same time letting £60 Million or £70 Million walk out the door and having a player in your team as of January who has agreed to move straight to City when the season ends is not a good look.

  32. Coach 15

    Why have the protests stopped?
If it was enough is enough last season, surely the protests should have started on the first game of this season.

  33. Cesc Appeal

    Coach

I do not personally think it will take long for the banners etc to come back out.

Set merit aside in Wenger not deserving a new deal and the best, logical option seeming to be that the club should try something new and restructure, it was also immensely stupid giving him a new deal as he is never more than two losses or some dodgy media comments away from fans being at this throat.

And I am not blaming the fans there, they have every right to be sick of this Wenger, Kroenke show.

  34. raptora

    CA,
But that would mean Arsenal would struggle to find any replacement since it’s the last days of the window and teams don’t sell their stars easily since they have a limited amount of time to find a replacement themselves. The transfer fees go higher also. The only replacement to a late, late selling that I see as available and there was noise that we are interested in the player is Mahrez. Mahrez and 10-20m for Alexis is a pretty terrible outcome.

My guess is that we will hold Alexis with the idea that he is a player who would give us that 5 to 10 or even more % of getting that top 4 spot that we are fighting for nailed on. If we get the top 4 spot we’re earning the money we would receive from selling him back and we go in to the new season with Champions League football ahead of us. Very important for players as we heard not once already this season. So 50-70m on one side; to the team not qualifying for CL for a second year in a row, losing the money from it, the scaring echo of us becoming Liverpool of the last decade or Everton, and being a bad destination for new players. I mean it looks like a calculated risk. If Alexis is the Alexis we know ofc. If he plays a different way and we don’t reclaim our top 4 spot this could go very, very wrong.

  35. Biggles

I’ve figured out what to do about the midfield.

Flamini is available on a free!

I know, I know… the gungho, mistimed tackling, midway-between-Per-and-treacle-in-pace, headless chicken role belongs to Xhaka, but we do need cover for it when we redzone him.

  36. OleGunner

Agreed Cesc with your last post.

A lot of rival fans and pundits say Arsenal fans moan way too much/over react to a defeat.

Never realising that there is 13 seasons worth of context and baggage behind every loss that seriously opens up old wounds.

A new manager would genuinely feel like a breath of fresh air after being kept in a mouldy old dungeon for over a decade.

The unpredictability of it all, new approach to tactics and the game would mean Arsenal fans would not go as mental over defeats, providing an enormous relief of pressure for the players who know fans won’t be as apoplectic.

  37. Champagne charlie

    Pedro

Been reading up a lot on North Korea lately mate? Your arsewipe calls for Don to get binned and what do you know, in swoops daddy. The veil is excruciatingly thin here, you have aunbound tolerance for any wank stain that says things aligned to your thoughts on Arsenal. The second someone gets nippy that you don’t agree with, they get chalked off.

You have the audacity to totally shit about other blogs, but here you are censoring this one. Quality stuff mate, who needs a balanced set of opinions when you can make an “I hate Wenger” club on the internet ehh? You need any tshirts printed, I might know someone?

  38. TitsMcGee

Yea Pedro reinstate the guy who made homophobic remarks. That will keep Charlie happy. That is the bottom line :)

  39. Marko

I know, I know… the gungho, mistimed tackling, midway-between-Per-and-treacle-in-pace, headless chicken role belongs to Xhaka, but we do need cover for it when we redzone him.

    Nice

  40. Marko

Before you go off on one Charlie cause a fellow pro regime apologist got binned and now you have one less pal who blindly agreed with everything you said you have to realize he was a total freak and last night he had a meltdown and was calling out Bam as queer this queer that. Now I know what you’re thinking he’s making good points it’s all just part of debate. But is it really? Called Pedro a f@ggot too. Basically an idiot

  41. Danish Gooner

Oxlade must be sold,we cant let him hold the club to ransome,180 grand a week for losing the Ball all the time, being out of position when defending,a goal a season wonder and a lot of stories about that skank Perrie Edwards.

  42. Champagne charlie

    Mako

Now you’re starting up your “agree with anything/apologist” line of bollocks? Kill yourself mate, I really don’t have much patience for your needle dick line of commentary. I’ve spent the last two days arguing with Don about Arsenal, so hop off.

Fact is people on here have said much worse and been warned, or had nothing happen. Now a gang of internet heroes wants to get righteous over the use of homophobic language? Do me a favour. Further perpetuating an argument of sides, and Pedro is part of one side so he treats others differently. That’s my issue, he has zero impartiality.

  43. Coach 15

    CC
Im sure you’ve stated that you think wenger is a busted flush.
If that is the case then there is no other opinion is there?
I’m not having a pop,but it’s time for him to go,and the longer he stays making the same mistakes, then people are going to get frusrated and angry.

  44. Champagne charlie

    Coach15

Except apply that logic to tits like Marko who continue to label me and others as apologists and akb’s etc. I’m not saying there are sides, I’m against morons creating them.

The two lines of thinking are whether to have any respect for Wenger or spend your day calling him a senile cunt. I know which approach I take.

  45. Cesc Appeal

    OleGunner

I always say to people imagine you have set through the same movie a hundred times in a row. You would be scathing of everything, little goofs, bloopers, poor editing, poor costume deigns, actors forgetting to take watches off, poor logic in certain acts, unrealistic choices of characters etc.

People who have only seen bits of it or watched it once or twice would say ‘calm down mate, do not over analyse it. Does not seem like a bad film to me’, but that is because they have not sat through it one hundred times with no way to leave the theatre, with the tickets and refreshments being extortionate and with the director telling you that he has actually some jazzer type genius who has written a scathing social commentary and if you do not like the film you just cannot see it.

  46. Marko

Further perpetuating an argument of sides, and Pedro is part of one side so he treats others differently. That’s my issue, he has zero impartiality.

Right but there was no real debate going on at the time other than one little creep calling people queers and faggots. I mean I don’t get it. I’m sure if that Tony Attwood fella was called a queer on his blog from a WOB as you called them I’m sure you’d be calling for that lad to be heard. You’d be shouting from the hilltops let his voice be heard. Funny I don’t hear you having a moan about a certain fire fighter from Canada being banned. Is it because he never had his head up your arse? Maybe maybe not. Kill yourself? I bet your kids love you assuming you have some. Wonderful role model

  47. Marko

Except apply that logic to tits like Marko who continue to label me and others as apologists and akb’s etc. I’m not saying there are sides, I’m against morons creating them.

I’m sorry but what do you call a person who every single day comes on here and argues with everyone anyone who says anything negative about the club, the manager especially or the performances. Everyday. Also I’ve never called him a senile cunt and there’s many on here who haven’t either so it’s not a respect vs cunt argument either you righteous twat

  48. Coach 15

    CC
Fair enough,I do find all the foul mouth rhetoric a bit much at times , but can understand sometimes with the way the club has been run and managed over the last few years, with another season of the same to come.

  49. Marko

And that’s a falsehood if ever I saw one not every “Wenger out” calls him a cunt or wants him to die most just want him to finally fuck off so this mediocre nightmare can end. Nothing inherently against the lad in fact I’m sure once he’s gone most of us will forget the lad inside a couple months

  50. Champagne charlie

    Marko

You’re full of assumptions, they make the majority of your empty skull. Maybe just go on the premise you have fuck all knowledge about me and leave it there ehh. Might choose whether you live at some point.

You can’t present a balanced view of anything, especially in connection with someone you label an apologist. Until you’re capable I suggest you go read a book or take a walk.

  51. Champagne charlie

Didn’t realise fireman twat got binned, how long did that take, 2 years of abusive nonsense with every confrontation?

What did Don get? An evening… as you were

  52. Marko

You can’t present a balanced view of anything, especially in connection with someone you label an apologist. Until you’re capable I suggest you go read a book or take a walk.

Sure mate balanced view like when someone calls him a ditherer on transfer dealings and you instead blame it on Dick Laws negotiating skills. Like when someone says that we need a director of football you instead say we don’t we just need other people to do their jobs. Someone is critical of some of his signings you counter with he’s got a great eye for talent. So yeah balanced view on everything

  53. Dream10

According to @darrenarsenal1 , Chamberlain has not been offered 180k a week deal.

Charles Watts, a journalist who covers Arsenal, says that the Chamberlain issue is likely due to money. If he wants to play CM and he can’t do it in our XI, how will he start for Chelsea?

  56. Emiratesstroller

This summer’s transfer window is confirming everything we need to know about
both the business and football management side of the club.

    1. The small number of genuinely desirable players want to leave and are refusing to sign new contracts.

    2. The deadwood which we want to offload are on such bloated wages that the
offers made for them are either loans or knockdown transfer fees.

    3. The club are now unable or unwilling to bring in additional players particularly in midfield or defence where they are most needed, because either our
current squad is too large and the wage bill needs to be reduced or because we
    do not have money.

    4. The small number of quality players who have professed an interest in buying prefer to go elsewhere.

    5. No-one jumps today and expresses a preference to play for Arsenal and Wenger. Lemar with whom we have been linked for sometime prefers to join Man Utd if Monaco agree to sell.

This is turning out to be a tragedy for the club that I support. No doubt the cracks will be papered over this summer, but I suspect that the club could be
    in crisis in June 2018.

According to @darrenarsenal1 , Chamberlain has not been offered 180k a week deal.Charles Watts, a journalist who covers Arsenal, says that the Chamberlain issue is likely due to money. If he wants to play CM and he can’t do it in our XI, how will he start for Chelsea

    ————————————————————————————–

Under a different manager I fully beleive he would flurish in that role. Wenger has player him in 5 or 6 different positions with no consistency. I decent well drilled side he could play CM. His energy, hustling and close control would have other managers salavating over him.

Wenger is finished, Ox wanting to leave is a massive statement.

  58. Bamford10

Let’s talk about the Liverpool match. Will Alexis play? With Koscielny back, how different will our defense be? Any chance Wenger goes with a back four rather than a back five?

  59. Champagne charlie

    Marko

You’re full of shit, look at you spinning and spinning. Your inability to hold anyone bar Wenger accountable is why you have such a hard time processing anything that’s posted outside that realm.

All those discussions have been and gone, you’re just here to misrepresent as per. It’s a trait your pal banford displays with aplomb too.

  60. Champagne charlie

“Let’s talk about the Liverpool match.”

Or let’s talk about how you tried to get me binned on the falsehood of “racist and homophobic” insults you slimy fuck.

Still haven’t answered those questions, why not start there?

  61. TOLI83

Agree with those that say the true damage will be in 2018.

Wenger probably knows this as well and will try and con and muddle his way until then. Then hash a plan together. All about longevity and self preservation for him. His toy set and he will do what he wants!!!

Players at all levels don’t believe in him. Ox actually ‘accidently’ posted a Wenger out article on social media last season. The majority of the squad is mid-table dross that are simply there for inflated wages.

Club is in PR spin – Cazorla return now being pushed out. Clueless with Wenger mumbling nonsense to appease everyone.

Wonder if the Champions League bubble bursting with us heading into decline will entice Kronke to consider offers, I hope so. That’s the silver lining.

  62. tee

oxlade can fuck off. he shouldn’t be anywhere near an arsenal first team in the first place if not for Wenger’s annoying attitude towards team development. a lot of fans want him gone before now so it shouldn’t be a yardstick to mourn. it pains me that Perez wasn’t given deserved chances to prove himself compare to that headless chicken.

  63. GoonerDave

    Homophobia? Shudder.
Didn’t a guest blogger once write a blog here about gay footballers? And in the comments section afterwards, turned out to be a militant atheist, ridiculing people’s religious beliefs?
    Hypocritical snowflakery.

  64. TT

Lot of Untold Arsene regulars on here whining about Don being binned. Good riddance as who ever dears to criticize lord wonga on there gets binned straight away.

    @Bamford
Re the Liverpool game I can see us winning it or loosing badly. Cant see a draw there or low score, not with those two defenses. If Alexis plays we have a very good chance as long as the senile cunt dont play central defense wilt all full backs but you know he needs to prove a point he is right and the world is wrong so nothing surprises me anymore.

  65. Champagne charlie

“Lot of Untold Arsene regulars on here whining about Don being binned. Good riddance as who ever dears to criticize lord wonga on there gets binned straight away.”

Pretty sure that gets criticised, but as long as it suits you it’s all gravy here then I see.

CC is having an early meltdown hahaha

I wanna throw gas on the fire. Come at me CC, you prick, you waste, you “can’t leave Legrove alone because you know it’s the best Arsenal blog” piece of trash.
    Untold is free too.
Salty as hell because your boy got exposed. Don? Don? Where is he. Oh yh calling Pedro c.u.n.t on his own blog.

    Hey CC… come at me.

  67. Dream10

With regards to Liverpool on Sunday,
I think we will ditch the back three for a four. With this being a high energy match where Liverpool will look to create turnovers, I can see AW bringing back Coquelin into the XI

    Cech
    Bellerín Mustafi Koscielny Monreal
    Coquelin Xhaka
    Ramsey Özil Welbeck
    Lacazette

    Expect both teams to score
Imagine not thinking that the main man Giroud will make the difference

  68. Marko

Charlie you’re full of shit you try to say your balanced but spend the majority of your time arguing against anyone who has anything bad to say about the manager. How is that balanced? You’re literally the same. Your ability to hold EVERYONE bar the manager accountable is why you have such a hard time processing anything that’s posted outside that realm. Even recently with Wenger admitted the Lemar move is off cause Monaco have lost too many players and they won’t sell now it’s obvious to everyone we could have gotten him earlier in the summer but we dithered as per and now it’s too late but in your mind it has nothing to do with dithering but rather Kroenke withholding funds. Amazing really it’s not like a dozen posters on here a month or so back were talking about how with every Monaco player leaving Lemar’s price kept going up or his availability kept going down. But no we don’t dither

  69. Marko

Pretty sure that gets criticised, but as long as it suits you it’s all gravy here then I see.

Again can’t stress this enough or don’t understand why you’re not getting it but Don wasn’t binned for being an “akb” as people say but rather for going off on people calling them queers and then calling Pedro a f@ggot for being called up on it. Simple. What’s not to understand there

  70. Coach 15

When the Ox accidently liked a wenger out social media post last season, told you everything you need to know about his future intentions.

  71. Champagne charlie

    Marko
Your lack of comprehension is stunning.

I’ve acknowledged Wengers faults plenty, it also gets talked about daily on here so what’s the point rehashing? Expansion of the conversation to include those who are also responsible is simply not tolerated by your type.

Wenger bid 40 mil and then has changed tact to where we need to sell suddenly. Why do you think that is? Kroenke wanting the books balanced warrants a mention whether you care to admit it or not.

I know why don was banned you fucking moron, have a read what I’ve said for a change. Fireman dick was here spouting bollocks for years before being ditched, don got ditched in a day. Wallace noted the link, I echoed those sentiments.

    Reality
You must be a teenager lol wtf are you talking about…

    Banford
That’s it mate, continue ignoring when called out for your dishonest bollocks. Hope everyone is taking stock of exactly the type of guy you are.

  72. Paulinho

Fortunately for us the days of the likes of Prosinecki, Pancev, Savecevic, Jugovic, Mihajlovic, lining up for Red Star are long gone.

  73. Marko

Wenger bid 40 mil and then has changed tact to where we need to sell suddenly.

Yeah but if Wenger bid 40 million earlier instead of dithering that probably would have been enough. But instead he waited to go in for a player after Monaco had sold Silva, Dirar, Germain and I believe Mendy and Bakayoko. We were fucking about as per usual.

Fireman dick was here spouting bollocks for years before being ditched, don got ditched in a day. Wallace noted the link, I echoed those sentiments.

Right but the Canadian fireman wasn’t spouting slurs and calling the guy who runs the blog for free in his own spare time a f@ggot. Can you not see the difference? It wasn’t about a difference of opinion

  74. Guns of Hackney

Arse being linked to Virgil Van Dick for £50m. Bullshit alert.

Southampton turn down a £60m bid from the scouse schleppers but they’ll accept £10m less from Arsenal. Oh Lordy.

VVD should also look at what happens to ex Southampton players when they come to the club of death…walnut, ox and chambers. Yuck.

Can’t see us gettting out of that group either. No way is this bunch of wet hankies going out to Russia, Germany or Turkmenistan and getting a result.

  75. Champagne charlie

“but if Wenger bid 40 million earlier instead of dithering that probably would have been enough”

You must work in the transfer business, or this is conjecture. We were busy with a Lacazette/Kolasinac don’t you remember? And if we bid then that suggests encouragement to sell. Monaco changed their value midway through and unsurprisingly Arsenal have baulked. Now does that fall on Wengers shoulders or is that thanks to our super ambitious owner? In a market where everyone is available, we’ve found someone who isn’t. Shocker

You don’t recall fireman dick very well if you think he wasn’t full of venomous nonsense. Why don’t you speak to your good pal banford about him, oh and ask about my racist and homophobic insults that were his fuel for me getting banned. Just don’t connect any dots along the way

  76. raptora

    Holy shit!
That’s as hard of a group as you can get in the Europa league. Not saying that I’m afraid but it won’t exactly be like a stroll in the park. All 3 of those teams are as good as most of the 3-th and 4-th seeds in the Champions League. We’ll have to mix the starting lineups very carefully in my opinion.

  77. Duzie

That’s not a bad fixture. The Europa is physically draining as teams he to travel to far Eastern European countries most times. I wouldn’t mind if Arsenal focus on doing great in the PL ,and shunning the EL.

  78. raptora

    GoH,
“Can’t see us gettting out of that group either. No way is this bunch of wet hankies going out to Russia, Germany or Turkmenistan and getting a result.”

You got a little lost along the way there pal. Lol.

  79. raptora

    CC,
I checked the groups and I could say half of them are very competitive like ours, and the other half look determined as we speak.

Arsenal and Milan with highest chances of winning it according to skybet with odds 7/1, Everton and Athletic Bilbao with 16/1, Lyon with 20/1, Lazio with 25/1.

I’d like us to win this. I don’t really see big chances of winning the EPL, so I’d like to repeat what Man Utd did – fk the league in the latter stages and win the Europa. Gives you a place in the UCL anyways.

  80. Champagne charlie

    Raptora

I’m not that opposed to it tbh, it breaks up the monotony of the season. Whatever happens will be something different than the last ten etc. Plus it will be interesting to see our management and preparation tested by something new. Holding judgement on that one haha

Hoping this will galvanise us and make us all wish to see a return to CL football.

  81. WestLondonGoon

Generally it’s pretty good on Le Grove, sure there’s a bit of gobbing off between posters but that what football is about – it’s emotive.

Trouble with Don was he made things too personal – For instance, he’s 32, has 2 mortgages apparently, a wife, kids, runs his own business….all stuff he’s stated about himself on here. I don’t know much about any of you, to be honest, unless you share any details, why would I? But Don felt the need to share all this with us, then assumed things about our lives, and used them to make personal attacks when he didn’t agree with what we were posting.

As I said directly to him a couple of times, it was making reading his posts hard work.

If Le Grove is anti-Wenger is that such a bad thing to be labelled? I mean there are plenty of pro-Wenger blogs out there, so perhaps it’s us on here that provide the balance? If more (bloggers) had the balls to come out and state that they are firmly WengerOut, perhaps we could have got greater strength of numbers with last season’s protests and we might be looking at a whole different Arsenal already.

Wenger IS finished, we need change.

  82. WestLondonGoon

AC Milan look a lot stronger this year, I took a chunk of 12/1 e/way for Serie A, they will probably take Europa seriously as well.

  83. Cesc Appeal

I do not get the incessant bitching about bias, usually from a certain type of fan.

Everyone has bias, newspaper frequently favour political beliefs and parties as do news stations, blogs can have their own bias and beliefs, Le Grove is more anti-Wenger (though not as much as some) then you have Untold which is wildly pro-Wenger, then you have fence sitters like Arseblog who flip flop.

Really is simple, don’t read it if you don’t like it. But whining endlessly about Pedro and the flavour of the blog is just stupid.

Like going on The Guardian forums and complaining everything is left wing and anti-British, or The Mirror is pro-Corbyn and you think he is a tosser. Just don’t read it, don’t give it the hits don’t give it the traffic.

The site is what it is, if you are the minority of posters complaining the problem i yours not the site and it has an exit, its the little ‘x’ on the tab.

  84. Emiratesstroller

Obviously if Ox has turned down latest offer the club needs now to sell him
before close of transfer window and this becomes a damage limitation exercise.

If the only interest comes from clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea and there is competition for his services the club needs to play for once hardball and maximise transfer fee. I would go for at least £50 million.

Factoring in his age and home grown status he is not worth less than some
of the other players who have fetched that sort of money.

The club needs now to get its skates on and bring in a decent replacement
of comparable or better quality and not just hold onto money.

My view is that by selling Ox we are at least clearing the landscape on the
right [wing] back situation. The uncertainty as to who plays there may well have had negative impact on Bellerin. Of course the club needs to find an
    understudy as well.

Ox has made his bed and he should lie in it. From my perspective there is
no reason for him to go, but obviously he,his family or agent want him to go.

He follows all of the other mercenaries of the game who have left us, but it
does send a clear message that all is not well at the club.

  85. Carts

You’d imagine we’d get out of that group quite comfortably.

This often peddle line about the travel in EL is a bit of a myth.

It’s not like we’re playing games in Shanghai. Colonge is a couple hours by air. Croatia is about 4 hours; and I’d imagine Belarus is about the same a Size croatia. Meh

  86. TitsMcGee

I always say to people imagine you have set through the same movie a hundred times in a row. You would be scathing of everything, little goofs, bloopers, poor editing, poor costume deigns, actors forgetting to take watches off, poor logic in certain acts, unrealistic choices of characters etc.”

This is pretty much it isn’t it.

Like doing something a particular way for the 500th time and then being surprised when it doesn’t work for the 500th time in a row. Then turning around and repeating the same for 501.

  87. TitsMcGee

Or let’s talk about how you tried to get me binned on the falsehood of “racist and homophobic” insults you slimy fuck.”

So after all of your soapbox shiite this is what you call another poster?

So far on this page from you there is “slimy fcuk, pencil dick”, etc.

    Keep it together :)

  88. TitsMcGee

If Le Grove is anti-Wenger is that such a bad thing to be labelled? I mean there are plenty of pro-Wenger blogs out there”

Not only that but then they willingly come here and are all shocked and awed at how “anti-Wenger” it is but then revisit every day.

Sounds incredibly stupid OR more likely that they venture here to stir the pot.

  89. TitsMcGee

I don’t see anti-Wenger being such a problem considering what we see him doing every single season. He’s clearly holding us back”

It’s clearly just telling it like it is. The proof is in the pudding. I tell the AKBs all the time: Don’t be angry with the WOBs for pointing out our massive flaws. Be angry that Wenger allows these flaws to exist and be facts.

  90. IAGooner

Ox is off it seems. Good luck at Chelsea.

Looks like a deal for Sanchez to City is in place, but won’t happen until the end of the window.

Arsene doesn’t want teams to see the 70 million coming in so he can continue to nickel and dime PSG about the Draxler fee.

I don’t think I can take it anymore.

I’m gonna have to watch Bundesliga until this axis of evil (Kronke/Wenger Regime) is removed.

  91. jwl

Emiratesstroller – “Ox has made his bed and he should lie in it.”

If Ox ends up moving from Arsenal to Chelsea than I am 100% certain Ox will have no problem lying in his bed. I think it speaks well of Ox that he wants to move and has no desire to play for pillock Wenger.

  92. Rhys Jaggar

    Europa League/League Cup side:

    Martinez;
    Chambers, Holding, Mertesacker (in whatever order they most prefer across the line);
    Ramsey/Bellerin, Maitland-Niles, Wilshere, Gibbs;
    Walcott, Giroud, Iwobi.

No excuses in EPL. Lacazette rested, Ozil rested, Sanchez rested (if still at club), Koscielny rested, Cech rested, Bellerin/Ramsey rested, Xhaka rested, Mustafi rested, Welbeck rested etc etc.

How you manage subs in all comps is up for grabs, but if that bunch lose to Doncaster at home, they deserve a roasting on social media which will them dream of retiring before Christmas.

Most of that bunch earn north of £50k a week, after all……

  93. Sky

The club should be looking to sell Oxalade to man city, if they ever become interested. Let him go compete with the array of talents at man city.

  94. Pierre

Agree Pierre that this makes perfect sense. Hence it will never occur to the senile one and as it is not his idea will never happen.

  97. Terraloon

For someone that understands finance AW for me seems to be behaving like a washed up gambler chasing his loses convinced that the next throw of the dice will turn out for the best.
To try and justify not selling the majority of those with just one year left on the basis that it would cost more to replace them added to the hope, no desperation, that the likes of Alexis will play to the same level really should set alarm bells ringing louder than seems to be the case.
Ok we know that probably Ozil and Ramsey sign extensions but the fact remains they haven’t now it seems that the Ox will be sold for a fee of around £35 million. Far too many are talking down the lad but for me the reason he hasn’t developed to the level expected is down to lack of coaching both off and indeed on the pitch. Irrespective being a full England International his home grown value in this crazy market should be north of £50 million but being in his last year his current value has plummeted.
In 7 days time AW and the board face the prospect that every one of the players in the last year really do hold the whip hand. It’s unlikely any will sign for less than they get now and as we know that means that to plug the hole in the squad next summer will cost multiples of what it would cost now .
I just don’t get it are the board besotted with AWs vision of football or is there some fiendish plan in train here that is just so clever or mad as to go over all our heads?

  98. salparadisenyc

Ox on those wages is ridiculous, smells like trolling journo burying this summers dagger further into us.

Easy target no doubt, wheres the vision to better. Its mental how tired this outfit is at top level. Many players have been sold for solid deals whom could slot into our starting XI.

    Bang on!

  100. Champagne charlie

    Sal

Arsenal haven’t offered him 180k, people need their head checked if they think that’s the case here.

Clearly no one is familiar with his agent. The guys a money grabbing prick at the best of times.

  101. raptora

    Pierre,
Ox looked same way as Reiss Nelson all those years back. How did that come through? Ox was part of the League One Team of the Year for the 2010–11 season with numerous MotM performances, scoring 9 goals in 34 league games. At Arsenal for 6 full seasons, he has scored the exact same number of goals – 9 in you know how many league games – 130. 130 league games to score 9 goals.

He came at Arsenal because he was a massive fan to the club since a little kid. Was regarded as one of the brightest talents in the world football and commanded a huge fee for such a young kid. Do you think that he is happy with what has happened to his career so far? I don’t think so.

How much of it is his fault and how much of it is Arsenal/Wenger’s fault is another topic that probably no one can point at things with certainty. If the media is right and he doesn’t want to sign he probably just wants to change things. Try to give himself a chance with a different surroundings hoping things will get better and he will have the career he wanted for himself.

Anyways, I think that he will stay but we’ve been there where we thought we had a huge talent in our hands just for this talent to not only stop progressing but to regress in years. It took the Ox a good 4 to 5 years to rediscover part of the form he was showing as a kiddo. Walcott and Wilshere were supposed to have as good as a career as Rooney had. Same goes to Gibbs and Chambers to a lesser extent. Iwobi will probably stay at the exact same level as well. We’ve been there. Done that. We know the results. But we keep hoping that Reiss Nelson will be the next best thing in English Football…

  102. raptora

Wenger might have lied before but I don’t think at this moment of time, after he is not very most popular among the fans, I don’t think that he would lie about something as big as a player staying or not. He has repeatedly said that no player of the three important ones – Alexis, Ozil, Chamberlain – will leave Arsenal this summer. He said the board has agreed to it and that the three players will stay with us. That’s that. Even he is not as dumb to risk riots starting as early as September. And it will happen if he is caught at lying to us.

  103. raptora

Ousmane Dembele to Barcelona is official. Holy fk that over 100m euro profit for just a year. Holy moly! Not that their fans are happy with what BDortmund has turn into but at least they have been playing exciting football for years. We don’t even have an eye catching football style anymore.

  104. Rainman

    Raptora

Think you under estimating Wenger, he definitely doesn’t give a fuck what the fans think, he has told huge lies like that and gotten away with it. Wenger is basically untouchable and he knows it.

Still a good chance this window closes with Sanchez and Chamberlain gone.

  105. Jed

Pedro, I just wanted to say that I admire your perseverance. You keep on telling it how it is, calling out the madness at AFC. All the while the selfish fraudster clings on, seemingly without end. Keep at it, someone’s got to put some pressure on the old goat.

  106. seniorgooner

Pierre agree with you completely if only Wengerspin could do the right thing, But he will probably find someone in Mongolia that he will say is a quality signing. Van dyk would be great signing as together with Holding and Kolesniak they could be the spine for many years to come so far this has been our worst transfer window with only one signing and losing OX and Sanchez remaining under duress. It would be great if OX goes his father speaks candidly at what went on AFC behind the scenes

  107. Champagne charlie

    Carts

“Seri couldn’t even get into Napoli’s MF. Very ordinary and his passing is wayward”

    One more time…?

  108. BillikenGooner

He’s going to get rioting anyways. Keeping these 3 and maybe being able to sign 1 to an extension during the season (Ozil) while Ox and Sanchez shop their wares in January and sign a contract with another team, but are expected by Wenger and some dumb fans to play their hardest for the 2nd half of the season is ridiculous. They will worry about injuries and keeping in shape, not winning matches for their soon to be ex-club. The same one that wouldn’t pay them what they want, wouldn’t sign better players to improve the squad, and wouldn’t move them when they wanted, so wasted a year of their careers.
