Fellaini nasty streak what we miss | Brits sign up | Milan man on radar

by & filed under News Review.

Morning sports fans. It’s always nice to wake up on a Sunday after successfully working the last train itinerary to perfection, thus saving the princely sum of £20.

Sure, I spent the evening experimenting with ‘real ales’ and home made gins, but that doesn’t make me less of a man. In fact, according to every ‘real ale’ person I spoke to, drinking warm, flat, headless yellow water whilst chatting incoherently about craft… is just about the most manly thing you can do outside dry slapping Mike Tyson.

Anyway, that’s a perfect segue into my first story. Samir Nasri. Freekick wall bottle job. Has stated his intentions to rejoin Arsenal. Is there a source? No. Is there a chance of this happening? Well, Wenger has a habit of breaking rules for the wrong players. Rosicky and Squillaci get two year deals, Sagna doesn’t being a case in point. Wenger wouldn’t bring Anelka back in 2009 when he could have won us the league because of his past.

Would he bring Sammy back? I f*cking hope not. He has no character. A petulant pig who had a gift of talent but little else. When he was fishing for a move, he dropped out of a training session so he could potentially be fresh for a City Monday night game. A horrible man who has no right to a move back to us. We want fighters, not failed mercenaries.

A couple of players we’re interested in both picked up red cards this weekend. One was Huntelaar, who infuriated Schalke fans with a second bookable for a silly shove. I’m not sure he’s flavour of the month with the fan base. Then the second red came from Fellaini. What did he do? He head butted Ryan Shawcross.

Now, as much as I hate ill discipline, I can’t help but admire this. I miss having a player people hate. I miss having talent with a nasty streak. I miss having uncontrollable passion. Where is our Paddy Vieira? Where is the player everyone loves to hate?

He’s wearing a blue shirt, playing for a club who have bugger all money, waiting for the next challenge. If he costs £30m, pay it, he’s worth it.

Another player we’ve been linked with is El Shaarawy of Milan. He’s scored a bundle of goals this season and Wenger think he’s the business.

‘El Shaarawy is a very mobile, very technical young player. His philosophy fits perfectly with mine,’

Great stuff. But honestly, are we going to poach a Milan striker in his first season? About as likely as Wenger picking up Messi. A pointless story. I can’t believe I wasted 13 seconds reading it.

Jack is enthused about committing.

“I am talking to the club and probably will be committing my future in the next couple of weeks,”

Nice one Jack. According to the BBC, we’re close to signing up all our core talent of British persuasion. That’s either going to look like a master stroke, or it’ll look like Villa under Martin O’Neil. They’re all young, they all have talent, it’s all about how they apply it. Maybe we could be like Leeds under O’Leary before it all went down the pan?

The final story is about is signing Moussa Sissoko from Toulouse this January. I’ve never seem him play, but he looks big and aggressive. That’s enough for me. I’d rather Fellaini personally!

Anyway, that’s me done! See you in the comments!

I used to get the hump for days when we lost. even started a punch up in the pub when we lost the cup winners cup final.
Now i just dont give a shit which pisses me off even more because like you and everyone else one here Arsenal is OUR club and these cunts are slowly killing it.
    Cunts like Dj,Chamack,Santos,Gervinho etc WTF.
Got no respect for any of these players and the fact that Dj got ANYWHERE near a testimonial is proof that this club is rotten from top to bottom.
TA4 had shits that are better at defending than that useless swiss cunt.

I have got to the point where I don’t really care anymore. The pain barrier was hard to break through but now I’m just on countdown to that French cunt leaving and the majority of his players get diluted over the coming seasons as the new manager purges the club of the mercenaries, cronies and hangers on who are bleeding the club of resources.

My spud supporting supervisor was giving me stick about the bradford result the other morning. gave him loads back about beating them 5-2
he said to me” you sound like a spud supporter”
fucking hell our cup final is beating the spud’s
    how the mighty have fallen!!

On reflection, you have to ask yourself how we could have come so far down as to be unrecognizable from the days when we could turn up at a game and be nearly certain of coming away with another win. Those days are gone and we no longer have a team that can do that.

Over the years and since that time, by almost imperceptible gradation each season, we have tended in a southerly direction in most departments. Whatever excuse you care to mention or whoever you wish to blame, this is where we are. You remember HAL the computer on Space Odyssey 2001, where the technician began to remove its components one by one in order to disable it upon which it started faltering helplessly; that is how AFC is now. It cannot function as the noble club it once was if you remove the parts that give it its proper status and identity.

We have fallen from grace and have no more than a 50:50 chance of coming away with a win whoever we play. Nobody fears or minds playing Arsenal any more; on the contrary I think some club managers actually look forward to it. They can outmanoeuvre us in midfield; they can easily break down our comical defence, do us with set pieces and outmuscle us up front.

I know these words won’t be of any comfort to any Arsenal fan reading them but unless and until the vast majority of supporters actually begin to see things as they really are rather than the wishful “any minute now” recovery that they are all expecting to see, there won’t be any trophies or titles to speak of. It didn’t get to this point overnight and neither can we expect it to be put right quickly. We just do not have the right people at the helm to make the necessary changes in the team.

I can’t see any way in which we can wake up from this nightmare if things stay as they are; there is just no way it can happen and it is folly to expect it.

Expectations have been dumbed down systematically season on season at Arsenal Now they’re even saying if we miss out on top 4 it’s not the be all and end all. So we’ve moved past a Spuds win being a final. It will be a case of staying in the PL will be our trophy.

Sorry Peeps..Now I’m going to extremes..

As what we are dealing with here is a dictator in the shape of OGL..

If we were to finish outside of the top 4..I don’t think the fornicator will go..
SS might not shift anytime soon..IG will be part of the fixtures & furnishings.

The AKB’s will still be a sizeable majority, holding onto OGL..

The funds, trickling in from the shirt deals & stadium rights, will sustain the club for some while..As part way of supplementing the loss of money from being out of CL..

So for me,it’s relegation..Brian Clough style..!!

It’s the only way, there will be a radical change in the status quo,all around..

No more b/s,no more spin..The facts will be laid bare for everyone to see.

What a sad state of affairs how on earth has that cretin managed to keep his job while other’s have been axed…..

  9. Jeff

I wonder. If I found an instant cure for baldness and offered it to Kroenke in return for selling all his shares to Usmanov at the same price he bought them, do you think he’d go for it?

  10. Gunner2301

    SDE

I think we will finish out of the top 4 Gazidis will say the board have every faith in. Wenger and believe he is the right man to turn things around. The fans will desert in droves. Sponsors will get twitchy match day revenue down. Wenger will embark on the his last season having learned nothing buying the usual suspects and we end up mid table at the end of 2013-14 and Wenger will walk.

Uncertainty will increase, share price will drop and Kroenke will get nervous hopefully bottling it and selling up to Usmanov.

That syrup he wears is one of the worst fitted ones i have ever seen….

So i reckon the answer is yes he can..

    Jeff

quitea few Arsenal players in there.

Still once fivehead signs his new £100’000 a week 8 yr contract he can make his very own one. =(

  13. Jeff

    Cowley,

I wasn’t going to mention it but yes that video does contain rather more Arsenal misses than I felt comfortable with.

  14. Jeff

Mind you, how stupid. If I found an instant cure for baldness, I could buy Arsenal myself and tell the whole lot to clear out. Mickey Mouse could do a better job than Wenger, Gazidis and Kroenke put together.

  15. CowleyGooner

Micky Flannagan does the best lines EVER about dodgy syrups.

Do yourself a favour and buy his dvd, you wont regret it!!

  16. CowleyGooner

how did you get that up so quick??

Going to see him again at Hammersmith Apollo. hes top fucking drawer Jeff.

    lol

Comment box available again – briefly! Spurs fourth, following poor Swansea performance and a goal from a chap who didn ‘t wish to join us. Oh joy! Tomorrow our chaps will be really wound up to prove their commitment to the club. Right? Then again, our chaps will probably be exhausted from watching the sports personality show. See a lot of Wenger supporters in the media and Arsenal ex player fraternity are telling everyone what a great manager he still is. Of course, they don ‘t have to pay the season ticket prices to watch players missing from three feet.

  18. Thomas, it's up for grabs now..

Just seen a vid on YouTube of RVP singing glory glory man united at their Xmas dinner… Fucking sickening..

Businessmen like Gazidis or Kroenke will never understand how that is so painful for us. Footballing reasons my arse!

Not even going to post it here.. How many more kicks in the bollox are we going to take?

  19. Alex James

My ticker couldn’t stand it. This is it, one has to be a true supporter to understand things like this. The cloggy and Stapleton ceased to exist in my eyes, once they signed for them. As I have consistently said, no player should ever go from us to the Mancs. It is the ultimate insult, and Stapleton’s departure still hurts after 30 years.

  20. Arsene's Nurse

Diaby, Diiaaaby, Dii…….aby. (In 2001 HAL sang Daisy)

  21. Honest Bill

I saw the RVP video too.. Made me feel sick to perfectly honest… Which of course i am…

Just remember that whenever you see a player telling you how much he loves Arsenal. Next time you see Jack kiss the badge, think of that RVP song, and realise that Jack will soo be singing that or Blue moon or who knows what.

Players don’t want to play for us anymore because they want to be in a team that’s competitive.. Every player dreams of playing in a CL final, or a title deciding match, and they can’t get that at Arsenal anymore.

The wankers have made it clear that they don’t give a shit if Arsenal wins or not, and that they regard the fans as a cash cow and any criticism, they brush off as a joke, we are an inconvenience to them at the moment.

They are starting to realise that the game is up though. More people are seeing what they are doing, and they aren’t even able to placate us with pretty football anymore because they sold off too much of the actual talent.

Make no mistake though, Wenger will make a couple of decent purchases in January, players of decent quality but nobody special.

This will probably work for them though, as it will be enough to get us in to the CL again, and they will all feel vindicated, and most of the fans will cut them some slack because the team will have been improving.

Everything is relative.. Many clubs would absolutely love to get in to the top four and consider it a significant achievement for their club..

We just have to accept, that unfortunately, we are now one of those clubs. Our expectations have been lowered, and every time someone congratulates them for getting us qualified for europe they contribute to the decline of Arsenal’s mentality.. Just a couple of years ago we were all bemoaning that we couldn’t win a title, and now the very idea of winning one sounds like pie in the sky.. The bar has been lowered spectacularly and we as fans have allowed this to happen.. We are the ones to blame, without us Kroenke has nothing but a pretty logo and a nice concert stadium

The fans always get the final say… So what will you say?

  22. Jeff

If history is anything to go by, we might actually scrape a win tonight and get ourselves to fifth place. Although in general the manager tends to shoot himself in the foot, other circumstances seem to conspire in his favour to provide some sort of lucky decision, break or bounce (when we’re down in the dumps) to propel us towards the that golden fourth. Against Tottenham it took a very early sending off in the shape of Adebayor and against West Brom something that we hardly ever get; a dodgy penalty.

But these things aren’t unusual in football matches. What is unusual and unacceptable for us is the fact that it seems winning purely with football prowess and ingenuity is a thing of the past. Anyway I think that we will manage to overturn Reading tonight (not easily) and it will propel us to fifth putting us on a par with about five other teams all on similar points with Tottenham just above us in fourth.

Our confidence levels will be low tonight; of that I’m sure. It will depend very much on how determined Reading is as well as how we play. Being at the very bottom of the table it is actually more crucial for them to get the three points than it is for us. After all, we’re sitting comfortably at 8th, well away from the relegation zone and there we will remain should we lose.

The only thing I am certain of will be Wenger prowling around in his technical area with that unmistakable nervous, constipated look. It won’t stop him from playing unworthy players in odd positions and making ineffective, mindless substitutions in the 70th minute when he game is all but over.

In short, no degree of failure will stop Wenger from being Wenger.

  23. The Great One

Pedro you didn’t mention last nights emerging quotes from Demba Ba on Canal+. He said Arsenal makes him dream and would definetly consider a move in January.

Now that’s both him & Benteke who have issued come and get me pleas. Sign up Ba Arsene 7.5 milion !

  24. wenker-wanger

For years i have been hoping that wenger would buy some british bulldog players….not stoke city idiots, just some hard aggressive no-nonsense blokes that will die for the cause…tony adams, vieira, parlour keown…yknow just a handfull . instead we have wenger dipping into the french league and over-stocking the squad with feeble useless wankers that are not even championship standard. Nasri is a great footballer on his day, but a typical wenger player…..and it wouldnt surprise me if wenger bought him back on the cheap (relative to his sale that is).NO thanks. Wenger is not not even close as a manager.
I hope reading beat us tonight, because i want wenger closer to edge of that cliff. We have no hope unless things get really bad, because one win and wenger starts crowing and the AKBs come out of the woodwork in support of the senile cnut.
I recently watched the 2-0 “michael thomas its up for grabs now” video just to remind myself what it was like supporting a team that you absolutely adored. George graham had /has his critics, but he was a great tactician with a belief in the bulldog spirit and an eye for a player. He was also unfairly criticised over the style of arsenal because for a few seasons arsenal were top scorers in the league.
Wenger is not not even close as a manager.
