A black footballers union? Are you mad? Surely that’s racist? Tonight’s the night Arsenal.

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Arsene Wenger didn’t come out and say it, he meant it so he and I agree on something at long last!

If I started a White footballers Union I would be called a racist, or does racism only work one way? I’m sure that Rio Ferdinand didn’t actually say it, but if he did then that’s as bizzare as having a Federation of Black policemen, its racist.

Racism is racism whatever colour you are if you have an organisation that excludes a race, then you become as bad as the people you are trying to protect, or is that concept too difficult for a footballer to grasp?

Enough on that, let me tell you a story about my day yesterday, I got a call from Arsenal asking why I didn’t renew my Club level tickets, firstly let me say he was a very polite young man, I told him because we had a manager that didn’t invest in buying players.

He was genuinely shocked, he said but we bought Podolski, Cazola and Giroud, I said yes but we sold Song and Van persie for more, surely the job of a manager is to at least spend the budget he has.

I then asked him to justify Gazidas’s bonus, he struggled with that one as if other members of Arsenal’s staff also did.

He then said Wenger’s salary was on par with his peers so I said he earns far more than Wigan’s manager, he said Wigan’s manager wasn’t a peer, I said why not, they’ve won what we have, nothing.

Needless to say it was an amusing conversation and he refused flat out to partake in an interview on this blog.

He was actually calling me to ask if I wanted to buy some season tickets, you know the same ones that one of our Grover’s yesterday were told by Arsenal there was a 7 year wait for.

Arsenal just can’t stop lying can they! Lies, lies, lies.

Onto tonight and the Champions league game, a tough team to play whether or not it’s on the back of a Norwich away loss.

Schalke have won their last 5 including a useful one against Dortmund, they also have  a player called Klaas-Jan Huntelaar who you may remember scored the first ever goal at the Grove, so we need to be sharp at the back.

As we all saw last night, even top teams like Barca can be vulnerable and this Schalke team are no mugs, it’s vital to win our home games in this competition so we need a big improvement from Saturday.

I think we’ll be miles better because the criticism must have hurt and we can’t possibly play as badly as that again, can we???

I’m not going to guess what team we put out but needless to say I hope we play 4-4-2 and we never see Mannone again.

I somehow doubt either will happen though. Any sort of win will do me but a stylish one would be great, Arsenal I think you owe us one tonight.

Have a great day Grovers and if you are going, stay away from the worst fans in Europe!

  1. BOOZY

we are not creating chances, and the reasons are quite obvious.

but wenger earns £7 big ones, so he should sort himself out.

  2. Capelgooner

True Stat – Gervinho’s completed dribble % tonight was 0, yes that’s right, 0%! The lone striker, our counter attacking force, the winger who should in theory be good at crossing and dribbling……

For the second game running Gervinho and Ramsey have cost us massively and yet I bet they’ll play against QPR

  3. Jeff

    SDE,

I wish there was a gadget that made Ramsey invisible at any required instant in the game. I think we would have one if there was.

I take it your questions were rhetorical.

it’s the perception and frustration of 7 years without one.

Love it,your play with words..”The perception”& frustration of 7 years without one..

    HAHAHA..

Let’s conveniently leave outside the players of quality OGL could have bought..
Let’s leave outside the shit players he bought on board& rewarded with pay rises..

Let’s leave outside his tactical formations& substitutions, when chasing the game..

Let’s leave outside the massive wage bill accruing year-on-year for shite players..

Let’s leave outside the 8-2 debacle.4-0 AC milan,3-2 Wigan Match& other disastrous matches..

    Nope..it’s about the perception & frustration of 7 years!!Classic..

  5. Thorough

LeMassive Coq. So sad. Wenger is so insistent on playing the utter garbage that he can even bench the keeper. He does nothing right. Remove him from the team and you’ll see the team look different. See how well Coq stabilized the midfield today, while Ramsey and Jenkinson were busy passing the ball backwards

  6. SDE

Either way,I wonder how that perception& frustration mounted over the 7 years, what through people’s crazy mind’s right?

  7. Paulinho

Keyser – Well, you dopey twat, as I explained, you need steel, discipline, bottle and work rate to win competitions and finalsa nd that what’s we needed tonight and Saturday and all the other embarrassing defeats over the years.

The current perception of Wenger is an accurate one, and he’s not treated with the kid gloves you think he should be for a reason.

  8. Maciek

Knowing life the clowns at the Cultured left foot are saying we were unlucky and jaded and tired.

Wenger must go. What a joke of a team. We are even worse than last year.

In 2 weeks time at OT it will be another trashing.

  9. Radio Raheem

    Suga,

One in an easier group the other with a stronger squad

I guess Mancini and Wenger will be stroking each others cock after both their teams have been knocked out.

  10. Ash79

Guys, just left Emirates..can’t believe what I’ve just seen. Speechless. Please arsene, Ivan, board if you have any respect.or love left for the club, PLEASE leave, just go.

    So so upset.

  11. SUGA3

    Radio,

the difference is that they will most probably win something or properly compete domestically, whereas in our case it looks like the chickens have finally come home to roost…

Worst league defeat in Bazilion years….worst EPL defeat ever…first home loss to non-english teams in Europe in 45games…..how many more records does this idiot have to break before someone breaks him in two?

  13. midlandgunner

the club has been going stale for years selling its prize assets and not replacing them nothing will change until stan ivan and wenger are gone getting rid of one of them will change nothing.but wenger will get away with it he always does he will probably go 12 games unbeaten through december and january so he doesnt have to buy in the window and scrape into 4th again.anyone who believes this current regime and players can win a league or champions league is deluded….in arsene we rust

  14. fanboy

Well that was a shower of shit

But fellas you have to understand that its difficult to win the league when there are 19 other teams there and you have to play against other teams in the champions league as well. If we were the only club registered in the pl and ecl we MIGHT have a better chance of winning something. Personally, I blame the FA and uefa for allowing other clubs in. – Wengers new excuse

  15. Keyser

Paulinho – Mate to win finals and competitions ? The Carling Cup ? So the Carling Cup would’ve allowed us to keep our best players, have the requisite squad depth, the abundance of talent and experience to go play 3 games in a week across different competitions, regardless of International breaks or not ?!

The Santos shit was bad enough.

  16. Royal Bludger

The boos in the stadium at the end were angry. I’d say he’s now on notice – and another piece of shit in the immedite term will cause irreparable and fatal damage.

  17. Jeff

    SDE,

    Your question was:

“Do you think we are a far better team, playing far better football this season..& that the season has turned out ok, so far?”

I absolutely do not think that. As soon as we sold Van Persie everyone and his wife knew what would be in store for us this season. The team automatically becomes worse because Giroud is, never was and never will be a credible replacement. If anything he should be a replacement for Chamakh who should be sold as soon as possible.

Unfortunately our comments and opinions these days are awash with ifs, buts and regrets.

While Wenger wasted the entire 3 months during the transfer window and while we weren’t playing and all of the lows during the season were all but forgotten, we managed to raise our hopes and expectations that perhaps this season could be different. On selling Van Persie, for me anyway, all those hopes and expectations died instantly.

  18. Keyser

Paulinho – What’s worse is that if we’d won the Carling Cup you’d think we suddenly had the Steel, the work rate and the bottle to succeed in the Champions League.

See what I mean about perception.

  19. Paulinho

“Mate to win finals and competitions ? The Carling Cup ? So the Carling Cup would’ve allowed us to keep our best players, have the requisite squad depth, the abundance of talent and experience to go play 3 games in a week across different competitions, regardless of International breaks or not ?!”

What are blabbering on about? Who the fuck said winning a Carling Cup would help us keep our best players. Nice attempt to go on another tangent though.

The point is the reason why couldn’t win one of those competitions – and did you mention a title as well?! – is because Wenger cannot instill the qualities needed to motivate a team consistently or imbue them with the mentality to win games with any sort of silverware riding on them, and that’s why we see performances like on Saturday and tonight. They’re all related and have been in evidence for literally years now.

  20. Paulinho

“What’s worse is that if we’d won the Carling Cup you’d think we suddenly had the Steel, the work rate and the bottle to succeed in the Champions League.”

There you go with that “if” again. Which makes it about as pointless as the hypothetical Wenger one.

  21. SDE

    Keyser
    To be fair,whether we had,Di Maria,Mata,Hazard,Alonso,Reina,Benzema in our team…
Somehow Wenger & the BoD would have contrived to screw things up..

Doing the same, tried tested formulas & asset stripping of the club..
Having a squad filled with utter dross..

Top players becoming disillusioned, played out of position, run into the ground, suffering long-term injuries..

The one constant in all this,I’m afraid is OGL & BoD..

They neither have the balls,or the ambition to win anything significant on the pitch..
    It’s just about the B/Sheet..

So Keyser,we can debate all along…About Arteta,Ramsey,or whoever playing the pivot role..It makes didley squat..

The message/direction comes from the top& I’m afraid that is filtered down to the team..
One of qualify for top4,nothing more, nothing less& if you’re good,be prepared to be sold for a whopping fee..

We have no desire to win trophies, just to asset strip & bank the money..

Understand that,& your futile arguments become less pronounced & more so overlooked..

Like a kid in a classroom that becomes the joker..
No-one in the end takes you seriously..Just the class clown who seeks attention& the spotlight..

  22. mjgooner

Keyser trolling again, looking for the “usual suspects” to start another never ending merry go round & round debates/arguments/trolling.

Wonder why people think Gambon is the alter ego Pedro uses to generate hits/comments………..cos if it were true, then I would most likely think that alter ego is Keyser due to the number of comments he has generated due to his “never ending merry go round & round debates”

  23. Paulinho

If Ferguson hadn’t of won all those titles and couple of champions league titles in the last six or seven years, he would be under a hell alot of pressure now.

    Lucky so and so.

  24. mjgooner

  27. Keyser

Your point is complete bullshit, because you wouldn’t prioritse the Carling Cup over the league or the Champions League, and keeping our best players, squad depth, talent and experience are far higher in our list of needs/wants then bottle or whatever bullshit you can come up with.

If it was good enough for Fergie, when he was facing a backlash regarding his tenure back in 2005,when he went & won the CC against Wigan..& subsequently went on during the subsequent years to clean up with a CL & some titles..
Why is Wenger & his team an exception for the CC2011?

    Oh it was beneath him?

If it was good enough for Mourinho…Again, why not Wenger?

I think you underestimate winning a trophy of some sort,in any sport psychologically..Especially over a barren spell..

You can tell, you’ve never played at a competitive level..
    It starts with the basics..building a platform& a backbone..

As opposed to having the mindset of a perennial loser, everytime questions are asked of you in tight, difficult, pressurised situations..

Fold& collapse whenever you have to face trials of times & tribulations..
Rather than rise, when you have memories of winning& a template to resort too in times of trouble & strife..

We have neither the platform, backbone,or any recent history amongst the current squad to try too replicate,or visualise the art of winning any trophy of any sort..

& who is the current denominator in all this…?

  30. Paulinho

Keyser – Yeah it would allievate frustration to an extent, but you said it would mean people acting more rationally towards Wenger, implying that the current criticism coming his way is unjustified or over the top. Which is bollocks.

And you lumped in the league title – AND FA Cup – in with Carling Cup so don’t try and worm your way out of that clanger. “At least debatable”…… classic. Yeah if only Wenger could just win league title, you know what? I really think he might be getting spared some criticism now. Ha ha.

Paulinho – Heh, worm ? Look at how you introduced the topic to begin with and you’re still talking shit, a Carling Cup on it’s own means fuckall really, but according to you it came down to bottle, steel and work-rate, not because it’s the least of the 4 competitions we play in which are all far more taxing.

Another ‘if’ moment there Keyser. A title race we were out of in early April and managed to claw back points when it was already over is seen by you as a serious tilt at the title.

Stop giving excuses for Man Utd winning the CC that season..
Yep,they failed to qualify for CL,yeah that were knocked out by L’pool in the fifth round a week earlier…But guess what..They won the CC..

Do you think we could have done that? No….

The fact, you even used squad depth ,experience & keeping our best players to priortise what trophies were more important,is laughably..

Like we’ve ever been in a position, over the last 7 years to pick & choose..
Fact is ,we’ve won fornicating all..

We had the CC2011,on the plate..
All Wenger had to do,was show respect to the opposition, too tactics, too the cup, video analysis,a Plan B..
    Instead of sneering& showing contempt..

The way we approached the Norwich game, with a 14 min flight is another case in point..Get in,get the game over &be done with it& get out..
‘Cos we’ve an important CL game on Wed’..
Guess what,we even screwed that up..!!

    It sucks big time…
Everything about how OGL runs the regime, smacks of complacency, arrogance, favouritism, penny pinching, incompetence,& grandiose statements that amount to nothing at the end of the day..

Nothing, but taking your money& no accountability,or transparency in the interim..

I bet, if you actually went to the games over the years& payed your hard earned money that you worked hard for..

You wouldn’t be so busy getting off on winding people up on here for a laugh..You would share in the pain& be more serious& heartfelt about what most hard-up fans go through..

Too you it’s one big joke, one big wind-up..& you as a supposed fan deliver your kicks, through trying to get cheap thrills & laughs from nonsensical arguments, off other arsenal fans..

Their pain,is your pleasure..How sick & twisted is that..!!

Is that what real fans do..?I don’t think so…

You need to grow up,grow a pair, show maturity & redirect/channel all that negative energy you expend on a daily basis, winding people up,into something more purposeful..

If you think players are shit,do something about, instead of taking your angst on commentators for kicks..Write into Arsenal FC,explain your angst..Attend the AGM…Not get kicks off fellow bloggers.
In that regard, you are no better than a spuds fans,or a chelski fan..

As regards to fan’s perception of OGL..
It’s not about perception,it’s about the man’s arrogance, contempt& lackadaisical attitude to winning anything,or going into the season not fully prepared,or armed to the teeth, amongst other things visible to the naked eye..

We can all see it..It’s no longer a debate,or picking the wings of a fly,to twist the debate,or validate you stupid arguments..
    It’s not a popularity contest..

It’s plain & simple..The club, nor Wenger have the stomach,or the inclination to compete on the pitch, rather off it..

I suggest you retract your statement about trying to keep best players, increase squad depth & add experience..

Because,I sure as cannot see that squad littered with the above,or attempts to keep the best players..

We do neither of the three…Just admit from the padded walls of your environment, that your fellow nutter,is as good as gone..Lost his marbles& needs carting off by the men in white jackets, along with the BoD!!

No doubt,as per usual, you will want to have the last say & validate your reasons,etc,etc..

I just hope at least one fifth of what I’ve mentioned sinks into the skull of yours..As you have something,if turned into a positive outlet, can be useful for some group, campaign that can be inspirational,or motivational for others..

Just try to use it in a good way..Lack of self-esteem springs to mind..
You don’t need an audience,to feel good ,maybe for the right reasons, but not for the wrong reasons!!

    Have a good night!!

Gervinho and giroud at CF is plain embarrassing.

Wenger will get a pasting at the agm tomorrow. And deservedly so.

    Man city are a joke.

Tuesday club should be hilariously depressing tomorrow. Bracing myself for an Alan Davies rant.

  73. Arsenal1886-2006

Just watched the mismatch again and Cazorla seemed to be getting frustrated and angry at the lack of movement of some of the players. Think he is frustrated already with some of those around him.
RVP made the right move, shame Santi didn’t speak to him first and get the lowdown on wenger.

  74. JJ

Questions for Wenger at the AGM:
    1. How can you expect to change a game if you pre-plan substitutions???
    2. Are you going to walk at the end of this season if you don’t win a trophy? And if not, why not?

  75. Bade

We were so flat at home, it’s embarrassing

We created at home only one shot at target, even this came in the 93rd minute

    Poor stuff

Where’s the width of the squad Arsene. Where are them top midfielders???

  76. ikon

There is no doubt that physically we look well short, maybe because of the internationals. But looking at how people at other clubs are performing at the physical level, I would imagine our trainig regime has a lot to do with this tiredness…. we all know we never ever have a plan B. Internationals or no internationals, the training intensity wont be changing very much.

  77. fanboy

    Ikon

True, I’ve always been suspicious about our training regime because of the amount of injuries we get. You can’t blame it all on the medics, we might be penny pinchers but I doubt we have shamans and water herapy ‘healers’ running our medical department.

Excessive/bad training and of course running players into the ground, now let me check who is responsible for that…

  78. Kjay

Just because Geoff a nd Pedro continually slate a player doesn’t mean they are right. They never liked Song and celebrated his departure. Many others on here followed suit which just goes to show how thoughtless most fans are.
Are you seriously telling me that , based on what we’ve seen so far this season, we’re better off with an average Coquelin who doesn’t excel at defending or attacking or the inconsistent Diaby who can’t stay fit to save his own life or trickless pony Ramsey who dallies so much on the ball that he misses countless opportunities to pick out through passes which would have resulted in clear-cut, goal scoring chances?
I mean how can you call a player who got 14 assist in a season a bad player? Yes, he had faults but HE WAS NOT A BAD PLAYER, for chrissakes! The fact that he’d always played as a DM since he joined us didn’t mean he was supposed to be playing the same role last season!
If Song was playing higher up the field, it’s because that‘s what he was TOLD to do. A player doesn’t step on the field and pick his own position time and again without being reprimanded and eventually dropped by the coach. Believe me, that does not happen anywhere in professional football. If wenger wanted Song to play deep in front of the back four, then obviously he would have done so.

  79. Johnty79

Well groves in from work so didn’t watch game but it’s another johnty79 prediction right. I said I hoped affelay would destroy us and he did. Us finishing in the champs league and outside it makes no difference at all we still won’t sign players. Question for wenger at ATM…arsene just leave you cunt! Only two good seasons in 17 seasons is not good enough. 2004 we had no competition either.

  80. Kjay

It’s quite clear for anyone who has a brain to see and analyze things themselves without being influenced by Geoff ‘s and Pedro’s often biased views that Arteta was meant to be our deepest lying midfielder who initiated play from our own half and kept things organized whilst Song played higher up.

This was what wenger wanted and this was what we saw most of the season. When Wenger wanted Song to sit deep, he did so case in point the home game against tott.

Yes there were times when when he was slow in tracking back(One of many Geoff accusations) but I can also name countless situations when we saw Song run back quickest into the box and clear an incoming ball from danger.

Geoff says he was sloppy in possession like it was a frequent occurrence which it wasn’t and even then how many times have we seen Diaby, ramsey and coquelin give the ball away this season? A lot.

The only game we’ve played so far where we didn’t need Song was the liv game where diaby stood out. That game aside, Song would have played better than all the guys who filled in his position in the other matches.

CIP, last night’s match. Can you seriously tell me that Song wouldn’t have offered us much more than Coquelin did? Remember the group game against B. Dortmund last season? Remember Song’s performance in that match, Geoff and Pedro?
I’m quite sure you don’t cos in your mind, Song was no good and we’re better off without him.

  81. Johnty79

Please please please someone at the ATM call for wengers resignation. Why are you all such a bunch of sheep show some balls ask difficult questions.
    1. Why do waste 50 m of a wage bill on players who don’t play?
    2. Why do we have more than double the employees of Chelsea and spurs?
    3. Why did wenger pick gazidas?

    Please someone please.

  82. Johnny5

    Kjay

Get off songs balls. If he were still in the team things would be alot worse. Arteta is twice the player easily. Also if you don’t like Geoff and pedro’s thoughts fuck off to another blog you mug.

  83. Kjay

Bac Sagna trained everyday with Song for 5 years. He played a hundreds of games with him on the same pitch. Sagna comes out and laments the sale of Song because he believes he was important member of the team yet you say no, he had a bad attitude and it’s good he was sold.

I think Sagna a fellow professional who spent hundreds of hours training and playing with him on the same pitch is a much better and qualified judge of his character and value to the team than you Geoff or Pedro who together combined have not played a single minute of professional football all your lives (correct me if I’m wrong).

And simply because Wenger sold him with 2 or 3 years left on his contract does not mean he was not needed anymore. Since when has Wenger selling a player mean it was the right thing to do?

Fact is , we’ve sold two very important members of our team last season without adequate replacement and that’s why we’re probably gonna finish outside the top four this season.

Except, of course, old Wenger pulls one out of the hat in January. But I won’t be holding my breadth.

So sad, So long, when will I see you win again, beloved Arsenal?

  84. Johnty79

Nasri’s mouth well I proved you wrong….where r you now. I hope arsenal lose every game for te rest of the season until wenger goes…wilshere and ox will be off at nd of season. Nasri’s mouth you r a spurs fan as you want this pain to go on. People with arse cancer have more hope than us this season.

  85. IvoryGoonz

KJay: pb of Song as a DM or CB was forgetting his role to go forward at every possible occasion.
With Bould in place to instruct Defense and ask him to stay back and let attack do their job, if Song refuses to follow instructions times and times again, I can imagine he’d get couple warnings and then get sold. For Sagna, Song was also a mate, and it’s more the relationship he’ll miss than the footballer, but he was certainly a better option on the pitch than a Diaby or a younger player… Why sell Song when we should have sold Diaby, Rosicky, and Denilson and bought another DM, then sell Song, then buy our Striker replacement… And finally GK cover…
    Anyway.
    Have a good day.
The end of the dictator’s reign is near.

  86. Thorough

@KJay. Stop talking piffle. Coquelin had a wonderful game. Blame bould for subbing even later than Wenger….and subbing the life out of the team anyway. How did Ramsey last 90minutes? It fucking beggars belief.

  87. Johnny5

    Kjay

Think sagnas comments were more a frustration at the fact he’s pissed that wenger keeps selling the players he’s played alongside for so long not because of how much he loved song. Yes he chipped in with some important assists last year but he was fucking shocking more often than not. But you are right about two things that wenger won’t buy and we will have a bad season. Champions league will be nothing more than a memory by the end of the season. We’re the next Liverpool.

  88. Cloggs

“…He then said Wenger’s salary was on par with his peers so I said he earns far more than Wigan’s manager, he said Wigan’s manager wasn’t a peer, I said why not, they’ve won what we have, nothing…”

    ROFLOL!!

  89. Mach III

    Kjay?

Song would have done nothing that match. I thought that Coquelin was exceptional!

There are many problems in this team.

    Playing a 4 – 3 – 3 with a false 9 that is out of position up front.
If you want to play a 4 -3 -3 you need 2 blazing fast wingers. Podolski is a LM or a striker, not a blazing fast winger ffs. Ramsey is a RM or a CM not a blazing fast RW.
Cazorla is playing too far up, he needs to be closer to Arteta and Coquelin if we want a midfield to work with just 3.
It is so clear, and I’m sure that they can look at the stats, that our midfield is too fucking weak with the current set up. We end up playing in our half, because the balance of the team is lopsided! This formation is made for Diaby. He is the coffee in the mug. You can’t make a cup of coffee without the coffee!!! Our players don’t play that formation, change it change it change it. Stop living in the dream world that we still have Cesc to spread the ball anywhere on the pitch.

This team has a lot of talent, and they just need to be comfortable in their own positions before you can touch on any of the other problems. ie: Why our passing was around 75% successful…

How can teams like Atletico Madrid have Falcao, Shalke have Huntelaar, Villareal have Llorente, Real Madrid have Benzema + Higuain… Arsenal only have Giroud… I’m not writing off Giroud, but he would have been far better if we had kept RVP to slowly introduce him to the game! He isn’t a finished product!

    About time!

    Omfg Ramsey!!!

  92. Scott

I wonder if the arse fans will stop singing that stupid Santos song now it’s plain for all to see he’s just the new Eboue!
The man should repay his wages for that performance.

  93. IvoryGoonz

MachIII: I’ll add to your 4-3-3 suggestion that Giroud is not adapted to play in a quick 4-3-3 upfront even playing with fastest possible strikers on the wings against many teams in EPL, so it relies on wingers to actually be proper quick strikers. A la Barcelona. Using Pedro, Villa… My best simulation all year long had been with Welliton (not our Wellington…), Leandro, and Doumbia. Even Podolski in the middle was more usefull than Giroud in most cases.
If we alternated with 4-4-2 when we go away then there be a use for Giroud…

  94. IvoryGoonz

Paul: I know it’s a bit late but it’s Shawcross and Ramsey mofo…

And ref Ramsey, he’ll be sold quicker if he performs…
We only sell our performing players… So you better wish he scored some if you really want him out under Wenger’s reign…
