Are Arsenal about to smash a transfer record?

Love

Leandro Damião da Silva dos Santos is the latest name we are linked with, he looks a bit like a one trick pony with what I can only describe as his specialist flick overs, not massively tall but was a Tottenham target.

He plays for Internacional in Brazil, incidentally I watched Internacional play Corinthians in San Paulo the same weekend Nigel Mansell won the Brazilian Grand Prix in a Ferrari.

Anyway he has the longest name in football and for us that would be a record , I have no idea how much (his fee is mooted at over £20million), but he is good, he reminds me a bit of Reyes and the excitement he brought with him was out of this world, so if the rumours are true, I would have him.

I think I would still prefer Llorente as we have a lot of smaller mobile players in our midfield and I like the big battering ram types up top.

Spain were pegged back by the brilliant finishing of Giroud, they were on top most of the game but with Spain’s insistence not to play Arteta or Llorente, they were never going to win this one.

Mertesacker scored a great goal and Germany raced into a four goal lead, but then his team mates went to sleep and Sweden levelled the game, not our boys fault though, he had a top game.

We’ll have to wait until tonight to see our English Gooners because FIFA didn’t think that 8 hours of continuous rain was enough to close the roof on the stadium so the game was called off, poor fans, and we at Arsenal know that the fans are the last thing that anyone thinks of in football these days.

I think it’s time to bring Jack back, I’m not sure game after game for the reserves will do as much as lobbing him on against Norwich, all the games we play are tough but Jack is special and a professional, I want to see him with Cazorla and Arteta, I am salivating at the prospect, bring it on!

Oxo has been told by England he needs to play more for Arsenal if he wants to feature more, well I think as he got his wages trebled and he has masses of talent, he needs to start scoring for us when he does get on.

The trio of Gervinho, Walcott and Oxo seem to be the ones competing for that spot and I see that as healthy.

Walcott for me will be off, it’s all taking too long and with his latest injury it will be November before he’s back and that is getting close to the window, so I hope Wenger has his wits about him and is as decisive as he was when he sold the wrong one in August.

If Theo isn’t sold abroad he will come back to haunt us, I’m sure wherever he goes it will be as a forward, that for me will be his best position and Wenger has left it too late to experiment with him, so if he is sold, sell him abroad, if he does that, he needs to be looking at his options now.

Someone came on here last night offering two spots for the AGM, I only saw it this morning, so if you are reading, you are out of moderation, and thanks for the offer.

So all in all another non Arsenal day but it’s getting closer, 3 more to go Grovers and we can all get back to the business of enjoying our miserable lives again.

Finally a quick word for the FA and the trouble they had in Serbia last night, how can they complain about racist abuse when they themselves condoned it with letting John Terry off with a tiny suspension when the world saw what he said.

It’s a case of getting on their high horse when it suits them, sorry FA, massive own goal.

Have a great day.

“Arteta and Santi is as good as there is in Europe. Yes Europe…..can’t wait ‘
Swear I heard similar before in the days of Cesc Denilson, Diaby and Song”

    thats very weak argument dude,
while cesc, denilson diaby and song were youth trying to make it.
arteta, cazorla and wilshere are already top midfielders. my only concern is their sizes coz we will have the shortest midfield in the premiership.

True although we’ve seen far more of that of the former for a longer period of time to judge they even performed well at times eventually despite them taking time to develop.

a bit of diving and cheating a la barca to get fellaini booked will help.
why didn’t we sign that belgian monster in the summer?

  4. SDE

8 more weeks till the half-term assessment..

    Still without a recognised top GK,an additional top striker,a DM & a utility defender…

This should be fun…!!OGL ,that had the whole summer, let alone the past few seasons,to address these flaws, still persists, with his illogical thought processes& formations..

Oh well, just hope that Grant Holt, doesn’t tear our back 4 a new one..
& if Giroud is starting from the bench-geez..!!
    OGL has lost me altogether…completely!!

    No words!!

By the way Fellaini would have been awesome to have..!!

Combative, physical presence, can lead the line well.
    Can score,head,shoot,boss the midfield..
    Pure aggression& some skill..
    It’s what’s needed..
A bit of steel & not injury prone..

Instead,we are landed with an injury prone 3 game a season Diaby…

Failing that,a young rookie in Le-Coquellin,yet to find his feet.

    Or Frimpong,who for all his efforts,has about as much control as a headless chicken,in a head-2-head combat,with a rhino!!
He would get pulverised, against top opposition..

    Sad,very sad…!!

We will buy Damiao just like we are a repository of big farts . Olympics showed damiao is junk against european teams . Why buy him ? We got Chamak nah ?

SDE, you do bitch and moan… you spent all summer complaining about how shit it would be this year… it’s actually turned out ok… we’re a far better team playing far better football… and you’re still bitching.

    ‘Still without a recognised top GK,an additional top striker,a DM & a utility defender…’

You say that like the transfer window opened for a bit last week?

    What a pointless comment.
