Top players coming back, will that kick Arsenal on or in the race for 4th, I hope so.

by & filed under Uncategorized.

We have Vermaelen, Diaby and Wilshere on their way back, but of course Jack is still 3 months away. Djourou and Kozzer are ready now and I won’t even mention Squillaci as he frightens me. A shiver down my back for sure, if ever there was something that freaks me out more than maggots in films it’s seeing him in an Arsenal shirt.

So Diaby and Vermaelen, big improvements if the former is on form, then of course we have Ryo and Park who could be revelations and Oxo, who seems to have come out of nowhere and made his mark.

Now I have always been a big Theo fan, I still am, I think he is played out of position and always have though and it’s sad to see, put him in the middle and watch the new Michael Owen. Wenger, I dare you.

I think that Oxo will push Theo on, but I would like to see Oxo on the wing now and maybe Ryo or Gervinho on the other, then let Theo loose in the middle. We also have Park and Robin who can play there as well, it’s called options, I’m not ready to give up on Theo yet, and he’s still a baby, he will come good but not on the wing. He is not a winger, it worked with Henry but he was a one off, give it up Arsene, Einstein and insanity, remember?

Squillaci I have already given up on. Coquelin for me against the spuds has earned a starting berth and Ramsey against some foreign team on Tuesday looked like he’s found his touch again. (I know it was Bulgaria)

Andre says we the fans deserve more from him, true we do, but are we likely to see it? I sure hope so because I was one of those calling for us to sign him when I saw him tear Bayern a new one all those years ago!

Jenkinson I like, but he’s nowhere near good enough for the EPL right now, he’s only 19 for goodness sake, put someone there that can play right back and I don’t mean Djourou or Squillaci. With our massive wage bill we must have a spare, if we don’t then that’s another example of shoddy management.

Interesting to see that Alisher Usmanov is closing in on the few shares that will allow him to see the books, to get Arsenal to open the box. Then maybe we’ll find out why this board are happy to see us win nothing and have a manager who thinks it’s an achievement to finish 4th, or in Champions league position terms, last.

If you track our league form back to last February, we are not a team that’s had a slow start, we are a team fighting relegation, and for a club with our wage bill, it’s completely unacceptable.

Maybe Park will get a hatrick against Sunderland, at least we won’t have to suffer the indignity of Nik B scoring against us in his real position. There’s a rule prohibiting him from playing against us… thanks for pointing that out Grovers, I was not aware!

Either way though, we may be out of sorts right now, but they really are crap, so I see a big win there. If Squillaci plays then they have a chance, if Squillaci partners Kozzer or Djourou they will probably win, but for the first time this season I hope to see Vermaelen and Mertesacker playing, they probably won’t as someone will tell me Vermaelen is still injured, but when I last checked, he was okay.

Have a great day Grovers, I’m working on something interesting, big and explosive, which I will share with you soon. So don’t ask me what, as it hasn’t happened yet.

Yes I know I’m a tease, but our sponsors want hits and it’s the only way I can get them outside of a misleading headline.

When Arsenal finishes outside the top 4 this season everybody will know that 4th is a trophy.
With the amount of resources being spent by Chelsea, United and City 4th place has become the only realistic spot open for competition by the rest of the league just like 3rd spot is for La Liga.
Soon, Arsenal fans will pray and beg for the trophy of a 4th place finish and then they will look at 4th place with admiration just like we now look at Clichy, Bendtner, Nasri, etc. with longing.

    Jacknrambo
Arsenal choose the self sustaining root themselves
Arsenal have two billionaires on board…..
Arsenal has 50mil gbp in the tpa account…
Arsenal are where they are by choice…

by the way, dortmond won the german league with a wage bill less than half of bayern and did not buy any big name player.

hustlehardmovement – I’m with you all the way, wish I wasn’t living so far away in Australia. You’re right in saying this is as good a time as any to protest. Trouble is, although we’re a growing group of disgruntled supporters, we still don’t have the numbers yet to force the board’s hand. Many, if not the majority, are dissatisfied with Wenger, but I suppose due to misguided loyalty and sentimentality, like Tunde for example, the remainder of us aren’t yet prepared to go the whole hog and have him sacked.
I suspect that Wenger and the board are lowering the fans expectations so that we don’t get too rebellious, hence the admissions that we’ve blown the league, and maybe won’t make the champions league. Gazidis himself suggested the only way the board will remove Wenger is if the fans demand it. It’s up to US.
Wenger is too arrogant and obsessed with being proven right, to resign. I’m as frustrated as you, but it ‘s going to take even more than an 8-2 thrashing and an embarassing derby loss, to get the rest of us off our arses. No other major club would be tolerating what we do, for as long as we have.
    ” In Arsene we rust.”

  4. Bush Gooner

We cannot even shift the utter dross like Squillachi, Denilson, Bendtner and Shitmakh as no one wants them. They have the combined weekly wage of approx £180k which, if we could have sold them, could have been better invested in 2 or even 3 quality players.

  5. Santos

    Tunde
You have been making some arguments here. Arsene no longer knows best. There are waaaaay many managers who can even bring the best out of our crappy players till January. Sorry, Arsene doesn’t motivate, his man management is poor. Tell me any good decisions he has made since 2006!
Which Arsenal you dey watch sef?

  6. Gazthegooner

    Great post today Geoff.

Totally agree with letting Theo have a go threw the middle. It pisses more off when they say Theo is shit, he is not a winger and deserves to be given a go terrorising defences. i would try a 4-4-1-1 having RVP dropping behind Theo, i really believe it would work well, everyone says we are lacking a Drogba like player, but if Theo is on the shoulder of any defender and spining off them he will cause problems he is the quickest in the premiership if a is fed a pass between the defence and Keeper theo will be on it, also they will try to man mark him creating space for RVP behind to do damage with a killer pass or that rocket of a left foot he has. Theo is very dangerous if played in the right position. Put the OX on the wing put Theo up top!

  7. JimmyRimmer

The banner refusal business just goes to show that this club doesn’t give a rats arse for our opinions. Everything is rosey under Lord Wenger. Bring in your AKB banners all you like, but one word against the grain and it’s just like Communist China inside the ground!

  8. Gazthegooner

    Jimmy the Rimmer

No i agree with the refusal of the banner, if you go to the stadium its to support your club, if you want to put up a banner do it outside the ground in protest, or even better your own house! Are you a individual or a follower?

Hang a banner over the side then cheer if we score whilst hiding amongst a few thousand other arsenal fans??? don’t be a coward!

  9. Cloggs

    @Jimmy,

The banner refusal business just goes to show that this club doesn’t give a rats arse for our opinions

Well in fact they do! That’s why they ban it because they foresee upheaval.

  10. R.S.P.C.Arsenal

even the media have given up on us, we dont even make top stories in the tabs on sn sports.. 4/5 vpages in and one column peices…

i’m say less thatn 58,000 this weeknd,, high or lower?

  11. JimmyRimmer

    Gaz,

Well I guess I’m both. I dislike Wenger because it’s my opinion. I also follow Le Grove because most have similar points of view to me. I go to the ground to support the team not the friggin manager!

  12. Cloggs

No i agree with the refusal of the banner, if you go to the stadium its to support your club

You are mixing up Arsene with Arsenal there, it’s the basic flaw of all AKB. We’re not talking players here but the manager. It’s one way or the other: Either accept both AKB and Anti-Wenger banners or don’t accept them.

  13. Pedro

Jimmy, I’d imagine it’s more the violence that might be associated with a banner.

It shouldn’t be done in the ground, it’d get just as much press attention outside with a thousand people behind it.

  14. goonerDNA is dench

sorry didn’t get any time to reply yesterday

    Pedro says:
    October 12, 2011 at 16:01

GoonerDNA, we haven’t had a letter from Schillings. Where the fuck would they post it?

Because Craig Murray says all the major Arsenal blogs were sent a letter to warn them not to mention Usmanov criminal record, and you never mentioned it nor the fact he’s mentor is Gafur Rakimov the Uzbek Mafia boss, I’m not critising you guys for not writing about it I’m just sharing some info I came across

  15. Keyser

Violence is the perfect solution it should be the Le Grove end game, total eradication of all AKB’s, you’ve got the ball rolling, built up momentum now harnass the power for good and destroy them !!

  16. Lurch LeRouge

fine post Geoff, that’s got the juices flowing for the weekend nicely.

I do hope you’ve not been recruited by the AFCnotarseneFC Jihadist movement?!

bomb belts aren’t cool, well not in the the Grover strip at least.

  17. incesc

if kocielny was always a right back as wenger says why was he bought as our centre back???

no wonder he is so horrifically shit, and actually maybe his frame is more suited to rightback.

but we cant play djourou at cb thats even worse than koz, when is vermalean back?

  18. Pedro

GoonerDNA, my first hero was Paul Merson who’s a coke taking alcoholic boozer who just crashed his car into an MOD lorry on the motorway.

    You still read the blog…

Look at what he does in business, look at his portfolio and look at his success.

  19. Pedro

Keyser, if you don’t watch your comments, I’m going to have you destroyed Alabama prison style… you’re Napoleon Dynamite, your cell mate is bigger than Lennox Lewis and hornier Hugh Heffner…

  20. DaleDaGooner

Love the post Geoff….Took a self imposed hiatus, I was so sick from that ab-oration at the spuds. Ramsey for me needs to sit on the bench, Van Persie should play in the hole, Park as the number 9, he has 2 years, ffs, play him now!

I’d also go for Walcott as the point man and Oxo as RW.

I hope Vermaelen is starting along side Mertesacker, Still wondering if Coquelin can fill in RB, he was good for us, better than Frimpong has been, unfortunately, he’s always on the losing side when he features (starts)

We need the Sunderland game, cause we need to win and string up all wins in the next 5-6 games to build momentum…still worrying times, as Geoff pointed out, if one were to look at end of last season, we have been relegation bound.

  21. kapslock

Diaby can’t hold shit. I hope he gets booed to fuck the Spud loving prick.

@incesc – just saw that. Koscielny is an awful CB, he may turn out to be a decent RB.

Vermaelen back for Chelsea game. I’d have Verm and Mert CB and Koscielny at RB for Stamford Bridge.

  22. Lurch LeRouge

yup Wenger definitely stares at goats

    Denilson, Squillaci, Silvestre, Djourou, Eboue….

MK Ultra is alive and well.

  23. DaleDaGooner

One thing i must say and a lot of people are missing in the tactics we play, Theo gets loads of chances through the middle, we play something of a 4-4-2 diamond sometimes, Theo gets to rotate with Gervinho and RvP, hence you see both getting a chance in front of goal, Both were a bit awful with their rotations against spuds with Gervinho missing a goal and Walcott too. Ramsey is the key, and his form for us is affecting us, he seems clueless when the rotations are happening.

  24. DaleDaGooner

As if Diaby is not better than Carrick, or as if Djourou and Kozzer aren’t better than O’shea or Johnny Evans…can you imagine Evans or Carrick playing for us? we’d be as clueless as we are now anyway. It’s all about the coaching and tactics, Fergie would get a lot out of Diaby, Kozzer or Djourou.

  25. DaleDaGooner

If he could get something out of O’shea 9even though he gave up on him) why wouldn’t he be able to get something out of Kozzer who is way better.

  26. DaleDaGooner

And Wenger patting himself on the back cause he signed a lot of “captains” we are so delusional as a team right now, it’s not even funny, Wenger needs to sort himself out.

  27. R.S.P.C.Arsenal

does anyone else want the russian to get more of a grip on the arsenal shares… that woul ruffle a few feathers…

the old etonians dont like it up them.

Violence is the perfect solution it should be the Le Grove end game, total eradication of all AKB’s, you’ve got the ball rolling, built up momentum now harnass the power for good and destroy them !!

This is the reaction from some hardcore AKB on the banner protest.

The following 5 Offical Arsenal Supporters Clubs Arsenal Manchester Scotland Coleraine Daventry and Maidstone Gooners wish to put on record that we support and back Arsene Wenger the Greatest Manager in the History of Arsenal FC 100%. We are totally opposed to the proposed anti Wenger demo at the Chelsea game. We the Wenger loyalists will make our voices heard LOUD and PROUD at Stamford Bridge. If the fringe minority go ahead with their demo it is going to result in a state of Civil War between Gooners. All FIVE Supporters Clubs will lead the Crusade in defence of OUR Manager Arsene Wenger and HIS Red and White Army. Please join US

AKB showing their true colors mate. I knew it because I clashed with some of them at the ground but I think you never have been there.

    boom boom… joke time

Waiting in Doncaster , to catch speeding drivers, a Police Officer sees a car puttering along at 22 MPH.
Says he to himself: “This driver is just as dangerous as a speeder!” So he turns on his lights and pulls the driver over.

Approaching the car, he notices that there are five old ladies, two in the front seats and three in the back…wide eyed and white as ghosts.

The driver, obviously confused, says to him “Officer, I don’t understand, I was doing exactly the speed limit!
What seems to be the problem?”

“Ma’am,” the officer replies, “you weren’t speeding, but you should know that driving slower than the speed limit can also be a danger to other drivers.”

“Slower than the speed limit? No sir, I was doing the speed limit exactly…Twenty-two miles an hour!” …….the old woman says a bit proudly, as it says on the road sign!

The Police officer, trying to contain a chuckle explains to her that A22 is the road number, not the speed limit.

A bit embarrassed, the woman grins and thanks the officer for pointing out her error.

“But before I let you go, Ma’am, I have to ask…Is everyone in this car OK? These women seem awfully shaken, and they haven’t made a sound this whole time,” the officer asks..

“Oh, they’ll be all right in a minute officer. We’ve just come off the A120.”

    what about this….

A bloke’s wife goes missing while diving off the West Australian
    coast.

He reports the event, searches fruitlessly and spends a terrible
night wondering what could have happened to her.
Next morning there’s a knock at the door and he is confronted by a
couple of policemen, the old Sarge and a younger Constable.
The Sarge says, ‘Mate, we have some news for you, unfortunately
some really bad news, but, some good news, and maybe some more good
    news’.
‘Well,’ says the bloke, ‘I guess I’d better have the bad news first?’
The Sarge says, ‘I’m really sorry mate, but your wife is dead. Young
Bill here found her lying at about five fathoms in a little cleft in
the reef. He got a line around her and we pulled her up, but she was
    dead.’
The bloke is naturally pretty distressed to hear of this and has a
bit of a turn. But after a few minutes he pulls himself together and
asks what the good news is.
The Sarge says, ‘Well when we got your wife up there were quite a
few really good sized crays and a swag of nice crabs attached to her,
so we’ve brought you your share.’
He hands the bloke a sugar bag with a couple of nice crays and four
    or five crabs in it.
‘Geez thanks. They’re bloody beauties. I guess it’s an ill wind and
all that… So what’s the other possible good news?
‘Well’, the Sarge says, ‘if you fancy a quick trip, me and young
Bill here get off duty at around 11 o’clock and we’re gonna shoot
over there and pull her up again!

  35. R.S.P.C.Arsenal

    good luck wales on saturday…

A guy was driving down a motorway in England with his blonde girlfriend and she piped up,

“I think those people in the car next to us are from Wales”.

“Why do you think that ?” he said.

“Well, the kids are writing on the window and it says

    “stit ruoy su wohs”.

  36. Gunner4Real

Where did fans get the idea Theo will do well playing through the middle? In which games did they see him play that position.

Please stop comparing Theo to Owen, they are not and will never be the same. Because it work for you on Football Manager does not mean it’ll work just fine in reality.

None of his managers, past and present has played him there, shouldn’t serve as a hint? Sven, Capello and Wenger see him as a player on the wings and these are people paid to make such decisions.

  37. Ricky

If these akb groups really think they’re going to have it all their way I can see it things getting nasty at the ground & I for one ain’t going to be holding back for any of these mugs..

Intact I might have to start going to more games just to see what these pricks have got to say face to face.

  38. Jackthelad

by the way, dortmond won the german league with a wage bill less than half of bayern and did not buy any big name player.
    _____________________________________________________

    azed,
therefore this season, i will expect Spurs, Fulham or Liverpool to win the EPL; and Valencia to win La Liga; and Udinese to win the Serie A.
For, only then will i blame Arsenal for having not won the league since 2004.

  39. Keyser

Cloggs – “I knew it because I clashed with some of them at the ground but I think you never have been there.”

Heh, What are you on about ? Seriously, you should’ve fucked them up.

  40. Keyser

“I can see it things getting nasty at the ground & I for one ain’t going to be holding back for any of these mugs..”

    Dayum right.

  41. James Wood

Sorry Geoff -Just can’t see Walnut down the middle -Ok he will run on to the odd ball and score, but iv’e already watched him one on one with the keeper, and he’s failed miserably,no calmness,no finesse ,he’s just not a natural finisher, like Wrighty/Edwaurdo.

I just don’t visualise him rising,to far of the floor to head into the far corner ,let’s be honest ,he’s a Championship player.

  42. Gazthegooner

Ricky you don’t go to games, if you met a six foot five brick shit house who was a so called “AKB” you would shit a brick and agree to whatever he had to say!

On the sunday you would probably get a tatoo of AKB across your forehead!

  43. Ricky

    Gaz,

& how would you know that I don’t go to games & can’t handle myself!?

What makes you think I’d be a pushover for any akb mug?

    Let’s not assume yh……

  44. gunnerAJ

Theo should be playing in the center, Arshavin should be playing in the center. Pathetic management! Both play wide and fail, again and again….

  45. Gazthegooner

Oh i will, because i go to the games and know what goes on and the dynamics of the amosphere, if you go to the ground with the attitude of all so called AKB’s are mugs i don’t care how big you are or how hard you think you are, you will upset the wrong person and cop it.

AKB mugs very aggressive talk about your own fans who should be singing together and not slagging each other off! You need to grow up!

  46. blanco

This reads like deja vu – remember blackburn – at least we are at home and playing sunday.
Maybe this will be the difference. Until Wenger goes I cannot see much changing.
No 4-4-2, No Theo playing up front, No Arshavin playing like a world class player.

  47. incesc

the AKB rule has lasted too long

tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take… OUR FREEDOM

  48. Ricky

Gaz, you been slapped about a few times at the ground mate? Cos by the sounds of it you seem like you have.

I went to large amount of games over the last few years at the old ground & have been to a fair amount at the emirates.. I sing what I want when I’m there, not cos I’m some big tough guy cos I’m most deffo not but because I don’t give 2 shits about anyone who don’t want the best for the arsenal & I’ll most definitely not be intimidated by another human being.

I don’t give a toss if your 6tt & weighing over 250lbs or wether your a midget built like a matchstick. If I call akbs mugs it’s because I think they are being made to look like & sound like mugs not because I think they’re a bunch of sissy pushovers.

Like you said, anyone can get it & if it happens to be me you better believe I’d be back next game singing the same song!

  49. Arse&Nose©

    don’t worry about AKBs

Usmanov Inc are developing a mind control machine using extra terrestrial technology, he will be able to make everyone think he is sexy.

  50. Ricky

    Mat,

I wouldn’t pay to much attention to gaz.. This is the emirates were talking about here, let’s all be honest, its hardly ever gonna be branded a 80′s version of milwall is it..

& I bet my bottom dollar any hooligans that do go to games were singing “spend some fucking money” last season.

  51. Gazthegooner

No i have never had a fight or been slapped about by my own fans as i don’t go to football for a fight or to argue i go to support my team, purely, i respect both opinions, coz everyone is intitled to one. AKB’s arn’t being made to look like anything thats their opinion, thats just you insulting your own fans by calling them mugs because their views and opinions don’t match your own, very bullish and stubborn.

i’m not saying “stick with Arsene” coz i not happy, but if you want go see “these AKB’s face to face” (your words) to provoke a row like your some big man, then stay at home in your arm chair. Two Bob!

  52. MatthewT

Fans should support the club not any of its employees at any given moment. In fact if we have employees that are incompetent and are causing the club to fail to achive its potential then we hurt the club if we give those people our support, We should be doing everything possible to drive harmful influences out of the club.

I find the situation we find ourselves in to be intolerable. We have no star players, we have no players that could get into Man Utd’s, Chelsea’s or Man City’s team and all we sign are kids and journeymen.

Something is rotten it the core at Arsenal, we sold our best players year after year and the fans were tricked into beliving it was a good thing, some apprantly still belive. The only people that benifit from the way the club is currently run are the shareholders, wenger and the mediocre players that are on a wage that far exceeds what they would be offered elsewhere.

  53. Ricky

    Peds,

I’m a lover not a fighter mate.. Love is much stronger then hate.. I love arsenal, I hate the board.

I even got love for you gaz.. Don’t take it personally, I want the best for our club.. I’m not on here to bitch & I’m definitely not going waste all that matchday cash to go & get into a scrap down the emirates but I will get on the boards back with every opportunity I get.

Anyway, like mike Tyson once said: Tough guys are like dinosaurs, This is a thinking mans world now.

  54. Gazthegooner

Matt do me a favour tell me something i don’t know, are we happy no we are not, but fighting against your own fans will get us nowhere.

All i’m saying is if you go to the stadium you support the team coz their are many people at the emirates who want to support their club, if you have a gripe its pub rules do it outside and do your protesting out of the stadium. i suppose you like saying to people “i payed ex amount for a Arsenal ticket but didn’t cheer or sing in support just spent 90 mins pissing and moaning about the manager and the board. Lets get behind the boys and if things don’t improve then action will have to be taken but out of the stadium.

  55. Lurch LeRouge

why no just make a banner that reads

    Arsene Knew Best

at least its not disrespectful, and less likely to attract agro.

The last time i was at your place I went there, amazing atmosphere and music!

  57. Dutchman

So, wenger wants to replace Sagna with Jenkinson.

Right, go fuck yourself wenger, you muppet. What a joke you are. Having a teenager who wasn’t good enough for Charlton as second right back for a club like Arsenal. Please put Koscielny there!!!!
Jenkinson was totally outclassed against United, he is sooo shit!
    Please no wenger!!

  61. bade the gooner (bernard)

Arsene, this is the way it’s done with young players….

    Chechareto’s agent:
“The initial contract was good for Manchester and for Javier because it enabled them both to see if they could fit together and if he could achieve what was expected of him. Both sides have met their expectations and United were happy to reward Javier after his very good performances last season.
“I will not talk about numbers, but it is a five-year contract. It is a fixed salary with incentives based on the team’s success in each of the different tournaments

First the player produce perform and achieve, only then he’s rewarded a better deal and salary, not the other way around…

  62. bade the gooner (bernard)

People need to concentrate on supporting Arsenal instead of looking for who an AKB or Doomer is…most of these folks , eithe side are delusional and have no idea…asking for fights? very classy.

A little booze and some suspected smoking can help too

I hate so much religion, but i feel it haunt me!

  66. bade the gooner (bernard)

No lurch, I already thought about names too

But i was to blame really there,

Palestinian Christian handsome lad with A religious family related fine Jew lady …. it has the same chance we’d win the CL this year….

  67. Lurch LeRouge

    ouch

I’m familiar with a similar situation.

exiled german Iranian girl moves (from germany) to israel with Israeli boyfriend.

you can just imagine how that ended.

  68. SUGA3

oh well, if it was meant to be, it would be, it’s like with everything, if you want something badly enough, nothing will stop you*

    * subject to not wanting something to the core-melting degree

  69. bade the gooner (bernard)

    Ouch it is Lurch,

So people, who are the other 4 national teams that WON’T face Shrek in the group stages of the coming Euro ? :)

  70. IvoryGoonz

Bade/Suga: I actually know one of the artists, Gabby Young, she’s amazing, have a look on itunes … and I’m there waiting for the artist I represent – Venilio Evangelista Pan – to build some contacts for him…

  71. bade the gooner (bernard)

    IG,

I loved the style and the music there, amazing place, I’ll be visiting there each time I visit the Brit’s capital

Last December they had a special X-mas compilation with a Big Band, was awesome !

  72. SUGA3

    Lurch,

excuse me whilst I collect my jaw off the floor

    bade,

of course, this is what every red blooded fan wants, but sadly, save for mid-air collision of two Manc team jets, we have no chance in hell…

  73. bade the gooner (bernard)

    Lurch,

I meant out of the remaining ties,

    Serbia – Portugal
    Estonia – Rip Of Ireland
    Turkey – Croatia
    Montenegro – Czech

  74. Gee

Who do ramsey and walcott think they are giving interviews talking like they’re world class players who are carrying the team. Both have been awful this season. Fair enough i believe rambo will come good but i’ve lost patience with theo. If he doesn’t want to sign a new contract then he can fuck off. He’ll not be missed.Bringing out an auto biography before he’s even achieved anything says it all really. He shud concentrate on his football never mind boring us with his trophyless life !

  75. OPG

The club PR machine is ridiculous so much BS they think we’re stupid..
If AKB’s can’t see any faults especially since the rot has been going on since last season or even the years without a major trophy, it’s more than just a blip why bother trying to talk sense into them. They live in some time warp when Wenger brought success, when we had a strong squad and retained most of our key players.
It’s so easy to blame the board and other things but Wenger is not immune to criticism anymore than them.

Not only do we need to be more open to spending a bit more on super or top quality players in the near future we need a shake up to the coaching staff and the board.
Top 4 is realistic but it’s not a given anymore especially with the unacceptable poor start of the season is, still a club of our stature should be aiming higher.
The club needs to know we won’t accept mediocrity anymore with the high ticket prices and selling some of our best players off while not reinvesting properly with better planning.
We should be a ambitious footballing club able to sign and hold on to their star players. A banner calling for ‘Wenger out’ would be too drastic but singing ‘One Arsene Wenger’ is giving support to a faltering regime including the board..

  76. OPG

Kalou has been offered a new contract in other news and Diaby should be back sooner than Vermaelen although hasn’t played competitively since June I think, pigs fly..

  77. bade the gooner (bernard)

    Cheers IG,

There was one female and four males singing with the band, I’m not sure about the names though…..

    She was blonde……

  78. bade the gooner (bernard)
