Robin is moving… | Could a formation tweak give us edge? | Chamazing goal

by & filed under Uncategorized.

When it’s a dead news day, it’s a dead news day. What have a I got fo you? Errr, Chamakh scored a 6 yrd header against the much lauded Tanzania. A goal is a goal though, I’m so glad he knows where it is, I’m seriously dreading the moment Robin pulls up sharply and signals to the bench it’s time for his 3 month mid season holiday.

Still, though we’re yet to see much of Park Chu-young, the clips going around clearly show that he’s a poacher more than anything. He times his runs well and he sniffs out potential openings. Hopefully his movement sparks a bit of inspiration in the other forwards, since the Cesc supply line has dried up I’ve noticed a real lack of movement, probably due to the conclusion our players have drawn that no one will pass forwards. That’s a weak attitude, especially when the team needs everyone to be pulling together.

I still can’t understand why we don’t take it back to basics. Forget the 4-3-3, play a system more adept at coping with the personnel we have at our disposal. If we’re struggling for goals, why not go for two strikers. If we’re struggling to protect the back four, why not play with two centre mids in front of the back four like we did in 98, 02 and 04? Surely there has to be a system that can be built around our new players skill sets?

All of our success has come without a Cesc or a player of his ilk, why not repurpose an old format for a modern team? United don’t have a centre midfielder like Cesc or Sneijder… they seem to do ok?

Arsenal are yet again being linked with a move of Kalou. I can’t for the life of me understand what Wenger’s obsession is with the Ivorian. He’s an ok attacker who has never really made the grade at Chelsea, yet Wenger, like one of those American Highschool movies, sees there is some sort of makeover project involved where he can make the most of his averageness. Jeez… I mean, I appreciate he’d do a better job than Chamakh, but with £50mill in the bank is that as high as we should be aiming? He’s the Black Dirk Kuyt for me… except not as industrious.

I had a chat online with the chaps with the banner, nice blokes, I’m not sure if they’re going ahead with the unveiling now, looks like it’s on hold for a later date… probably a sound idea, especially when you consider the violence we saw at the end of last season in the ground, no one wants to even contemplate trouble like that again. I think the next 5 games are of key importance to any form of protest of banner waving… hopefully we can rescue some pride and launch a battle for 4th. Remember, this league is incredibly competitive now, like last season, as quick as you’re dead and buried, you’re right back in the mix fighting it out again. We weren’t good at all last season, nor was anyone else, hence us being in the mix for so long! It’s all to fight for… we’ve just got to string some performances together.

Finally, Robin Van Persie has put his house up for sale. He’s probably got about 10 of them, but he’s put one up for sale which means he’s going to leave any moment now. Not because he’s moving to a bigger or nicer house, no, it’s because he’s moving in June 2012, so to make extra sure it’ll sell, he’s put it up for purchase 8 months early.

There we have it, not much for you to chew on today! I’m at the AST Finance review tonight, I’ll be able to give you lowdown on what exactly those figures mean for our future strategy and probably some other interesting tidbits in the bar afterwards. Follow it all via the @LeGrove twitter feed.

P.S. Happy birthday Tony Adams, here’s a raised orange juice to one of my favourite Arsenal goals of all time!

Sky sports are gonna decline real soon.. How do I know? Apple are about to unveil their new big thing in november, what is it? A system in which you can download your fav TV from Itunes. What do you think will be next? Sports streaming. This will be cheaper than sky and because sky online are so far behind, they won’t catch up. he age of legal online football is nearly upon us people.

  2. Keyser

Lurch LeRouge – Not saying there was a connect especially, but there’s an economy for everything, and that little ticker tape thingy must have a or have had a considerable share of people’s attention.

The primary concern maybe to hold the respect of a particular readership, it doesn’t mean from time to time you can’t manipulate or advance your own agenda for whatever reason.

  3. dennisdamenace

    AAllenSport Andrew Allen
Laurent Koscielny and Johan Djourou have resumed full training. Seb Squillaci also back in contention.

    Our season is fucking saved!!

  4. Lurch LeRouge

    Keyser,

No like pedro said, I don’t think BskyB are big enough to control the flow of information.

Media ownership rules are pretty explicit for that very reason, am I naive and think everyone follows the rules – no I’m not, I just don’t see a significant enough economy to justify the PR nightmare that an outed conspiracy represents.

  5. Keyser

Pedro – It’s the only News channel dedicated solely to Sports though right, and the viewing figures must peak at times to something that adheres to that.

  6. Yippee Kai Yay

Seen Tim Minchin twice this year, both times at the albert.

Am introducing my daughter to his work by stealth (Matilda).

She’s only 8 though so a few years before I subject her to the ‘Pope Song’.

  7. bade the gooner (bernard)

I think the Arsenal draw much more attention from the media in general, as we have the biggest blogsphere my a margin from other football teams…..

We have more blogs, so we have more online action, more babble and chatter…. so it all make sense in a way

  8. Pedro

Goon, you’re even more deluded than I thought if you think Apple are going to take down Sky… fucking hell, what do they put in the Southampton water?

  9. Lurch LeRouge

    Keyser,

I don’t disagree with what your saying, I just don’t see a conspiracy in any of it, that’s my point.

Yes there ways of milking the consumer base, but are those actions directed at making AFC less competitive or making our rivals stronger?

absolutely not. There is no overbearing News agenda against AFC, it doesn’t make economic sense.

The bad news is following us around because we are a very high profile entertainer who’s lost his game face.

    Its that simple.

Is there such a thing as an objective or neutral view? A gooner writing from a ‘neutral perspective’ would still have bias absedu pon his starting point and emotive attachements. A truely neutral positon would be one who isn’t an arsenal fan (or indeed follower of any regular opponents of arsenal).

Everyone is biased in some way, some by fact others by myth and fiction. But biased all the same.

And please don’t respond to this Goon I have a really bad deja vu which involves you, a straw poll, your office, and irrefutable evidence that wenger has already been cannonised.

  11. Goon in 60 Seconds

It does make economic sense lurch. They gain a load of readers at the expense of a few. Surely that is possible and would make economic sense to do so?

Anything which keep the population of Shirley and St Marys in check.

I’ve got it. Goon works in the Apple store in West Quay, that’s how he has so much time on his hands and a warped sense of the world, he’s a member of one of the largest global retail cults (that was not a typo).

  13. bade the gooner (bernard)

There is always some bias, almost in every stance a man make there is bias, as clearly nothing is “totally objective”

But Arsenal is a team that shouts loud in the media so why are we wondering when the media hits back and lightens our frailties more than other teams?

It’s like the extrovert lad, he will always draw more attention than the quite lad

If you take a piss in public, people will notice and they will react….

  14. IvoryGoonz

Willy; I’ve been kind to you yesterday, but I think I shouldn’t have…
    Now preaching Untold over here?
Well, for your reference, I was banned for disagreeing openly with them…
And their ref review is a total waste of time and energy. That’s not what will force the FA to change all refs, and bring in video evidence… They are just trying to bring more excuses for Wenger.
All their articles are biased, in a propaganda way under the name of Lord Wenger.
Do me a favor. The day you actually care for Arsenal, and stop being such an AKB, maybe we can talk. Until then, all I can conclude is that you are here to undermine free speech.
THEY are the ones looking at the whole picture? Give me a break.

  15. Keyser

“There is no overbearing News agenda against AFC, it doesn’t make economic sense.”

I agree to an extent, though even if you don’t see it, it doesn’t necessarily mean there can’t be one, and that’s not the same as me saying there is one either, heh.

My point is there’s an economy for everything howver small and just because there might not be a mass conspiracy against Arsenal doesn’t mean you don’t get tons of misinformation that results from the smaller economies all over the place.

If John Cross is an Arsenal, he could be fairer in his articles, or he could trade off the respect he’s garnered to suit his own needs.

Or say en ex-Arsenal player on Talksport who knows that they’ll only put him on if he has something interesting to say, and they know he needs the cash.

It doesn’t take much for these things to overlap and to gain momentum, just like it wouldn’t take much to shoot them down.

  16. Lurch LeRouge

    Goon,

your making an assumption that it makes economic sense on your behavioral tendency to sit behind a screen surfing ‘free’ information all day.

in the real world, the information/economic exchange works differently.

People have jobs and lives and only take the time to read about things that interest them, they don’t bother reading trash about opponents.

  17. IvoryGoonz

Goon: truth is that no one goes on untold to discuss about Arsenal. And all those akb end up coming over here because there’s nothing to discuss with fascists.

  18. Lurch LeRouge

    Keyser,

its neither here nor there, your describing a system with its own checks and balances.

I see the point your making about my ‘economy’ statement and its relationship with conspiracy, I was talking macro not micro, ie conspiracy at the upper levels of editorial decision making, the type of conspiracy that would actually have consequences.

  19. IvoryGoonz

the only conspiracy I see are those AKBs coming on here more and more often, to de-stabilize LeGrove readers and posters, and eventually only succeeding in making them even more determined to voice their own thoughts and feelings.

  20. Goon in 60 Seconds

Lurch what are you saying, that people don’t have time to read the news? you are losing me a bit. Are you implying that i don’t have a job, well I do, I play gigs in bars 3 to 5 times a week, usually for 150 quid for about 2 hours work, hence my daytime groving.

So ivory, no-one goes on untold to talk about Arsenal then? I can’t believe you don’t think that the ref review thing is great at least? Calling them fascists is a little “OTT” non?

You don’t think all the Akb’s on here of late is a conspiracy do you?

How on earth do I undermine free speech? my free speech is the one that gets undermined on here!

  21. boozy

i wont call it a conspiracy, but arsenal are not exactly darlings of the english media and even among the football authorities.

but the only way to get out of such position, is to win trophies, but sadly wenger hasn’t been able to do it – hence putting us in the firing line of all and sundry.

  22. Gary Williams

    Goon in 60 Seconds –

My point is football has changed many times and in Arsene used to be ahead of the game, now he has predicted a change and tried to build a team around a new style which hasn’t worked. Therefore, in my opinion the most sensible course of action is to revert to the last known working idea, especialy if it is one which suits the squad we have.

My view is a dynamic 442 formation with players who although very technical have the physical atributes (pace, workrate etc) to counter this.

If anything football has changed less towards the technical Arsene envisaged and more towards the athletic. That is not to say that technique has advance hugely just that other aspects of play are actually highlighted as essential the more technical a game gets. Perhaps the best example is Messi and Barcelona who we all idolise. Here is the best technical side in the world with an ultra gifted striker, but how often does Messi rely on his skill and technique? How often does he also rely on pace, boldness and a willingness to take people on, to make runs and use these other attributes. Hence my point with looking back at previous sides for the BLEND they achieved. The pace and directness of some players was complimented by the style and vision of Bergkamp.

As for the comment abouit Wilshire he is a once in a generation player. He is ery gifted technically but also physically. He will work hard for the team, chase the ball and the game and isn’t scared to look forward. I personally do not agree with the view that Arsene is a great developer of tallented young players. He has had some success but also notable failures. I do not believe that Walcott is anywhere near the player he could have been, neither Gibbs and I think that Song has considerably more potential than he has achieved. Please do not come out with the Wenger propaganda so many say about Henry, he was a 13M world cup winner so hardly discovered.

The point I make is that we have to evaluate changes in the game and our team. We changed our playing style masively and I think it is to the detriment of the team. We are unlikely to get another Fabregas, he was also a once in a generation player, so we have to review. We have to be pragmatic and look at what we can steal technically from other teams and tactics rather than stick to our ideology. Football is about winning, while we can have principles these can not be at the expense of victory. I say be pragmatic. Look at the role of Park at Man United. Would we benefit from someone who could effectively play the defensive winger role? Would that help provide ballance to the team.

Would we benefit from playing Van Persie in a wide role of just behind a striker as part of a 2 man strike force? Would we benefit playing 3 at the back with Gibbs and Sagna as wing backs? Who knows but WHAT WE ARE DOING NOW DOESN’T WORK and with a weaker squad it has no chance of being more successful. So it is time to make changes.

I don’t advocate one specific change over any others as I’m not in a position to make the best assessment but if something doesn’t work we can’t spend 6 years clinging onto it.

And our form since march 2011 is disgraceful. Arsene should have the courage to say so. The team since the Carling Cup final have been embarassing to watch. I’ve watched some fairly poor arsenal sides over the years (Cup Winners Cup anyone??) but I was never embarassed before with the one exception of Stepanovs but he was another gem unearthed by Arsene.

    Time for change

  23. Goon in 60 Seconds

Are you sure the media were so kind when we were winning stuff? Obviously they had to be a bit, but I remember us getting a lot os of various shit in the press, past it back four etc. What boozy is saying, is that there is an agenda against arsenal, but to fit in, he is blaming wenger

  24. Keyser

Lurch LeRouge – Haven’t really looked into just relying on my base knowledge of economy and the media. This is probably going to get more and more tedious heh, I’m becoming a pedant as I grow older.

“its neither here nor there, your describing a system with its own checks and balances.”

Do you mean as a way or trading or the way it’s policed ?! Because it’s a sytem where you can hack into phones and manipulate things for your own gain.

Also I’d have to look into the way the Micro relates to the Macro.

  25. IvoryGoonz

Goon: if you say there’s a conspiracy behind the undermining of Arsenal in the medias, Im also in right to say there’s 2 conspiracies, to avoid the truths to come out from the PR team,
and one from Atwood to happily walk on our constitutional right of freedom of speech and expression.
The difference is that you have no proof of the conspiracy you talk about, it’s more an effect of the constant spining of Wenger and his way of doing things
While I have at least a proof of the second, and at this level, it’s not even secret anymore and has transcended the level of a simple conspiracy…
“Untold Arsenal was set up by Tony Attwood in February 2008 as a mechanism for countering the eternally negative comments of other bloggers.”
Finally, I see Arsenal going after an Italian bag shop owner for name issues, but I dont see Emirates or Arsenal going after Atwood for “emiratesstadium.info”.
If you lick someone’s ass, surely, he wont kick yours… But as soon as we start voicing our own feelings, and opinions, in an area clearly marked, you can see people with nothing better to do coming on here to undermine the writers and posters.
You’ve had what? 12 comments today Tony?

  26. Gary Williams

And a general point. I don’t think the media is against us, or the referees, or Uefa, or postman pat for that matter.

We are one of the largest clubs in the UK and Europe so we will generate a lot of media attention. Our form has been very poor for a long time so this will be commented upon. We have had 2 transfer saga’s which regardless of which club would have always been news (Ronaldo’s departure from Man U was covered just as much).

We have a manager who is notoriously arrogant and often goads other managers and the media. While he was winning this was viewed as genius now he isn’t then it’s considered arrogance and picked up on by the media. Either way if you insist on saying I didnt see it the media is likely to react. On top of that we make a lot of bad feelings towards our club by the way we act. Each time we lose we have the press conferences where Arsene makes comments about the way other clubs play, how we play great football and they play rugby etc etc. Their supporters rightly feel that we are trying to take the gloss of what is, for them a great victory and naturaly react against us.

Where is the harm in going to a press conference and saying well done Bolton, they played us off the park, their physical game was too much for us today. We will come back from this and be stronger or My players were shit, I will discuss it with them.

Also we are Arsenal supporters so we read everything about our club, do we read every article about liverpool, Bolton or alike. That might seem like we get more negative press but its simply that we read it.

As for refs we are not persecuted. We are the victims of some poor decisions but I have watched games and seen Arsenal players make horendous tackles, avoid second yellow cards and score from offside positions, again we brush it away because we are arseanl fans. Yes there are some issues with refereing like penalties at Old Trafford but again this is a tired excuse. Have we really had every referee in England and Europe because we don’t win there either persecute us for the last 6 seasons? No. Even if Van De Vart’s goal was handball that still makes it 1-1 against Spurs which still isn’t good enough!

  27. ice

aw’s out of work activites are about to bring him down…might not be over the next days and weeks but therein lies the reason our team’s flawed…what I am hearing is not cool and does not sit well with his “mental strength” mantra….we are doomed until we flush one this one out……..

  28. IvoryGoonz

maybe because we keep selling our top players and never replace them?

  30. IvoryGoonz

DNA: I think what he means is that Spuds have progressed quicker than we have in the meantime, compared to where we both were. and for a fact, they have, while we have stagnated, and still not reached that top 1, while they could well give us some trouble on the short-middle term.

  31. goonerDNA is dench

and i could never do a Diaby.

the Windhoek lager bit i like. it has to be the best beer out there don’t you agree?

  33. Goon in 60 Seconds

Gary, as I said I actually agree with most of your surmise regarding Arsenal, but you saying “Therefore, in my opinion the most sensible course of action is to revert to the last known working idea, especialy if it is one which suits the squad we have.” I think still very much undermines what you are saying, that football has changed. The problem is we differ on how football is changing. You point to it actually becoming about technique but in a more physical way, I would agree with city being a good example But the systems these teams will use will remain progressive and the 442 will be redundant. I call it the “Barcelona effect” and in my opinion, in the next 2 to 3 years we will see all the top English teams playing in a style similar to what we have been playing over the last 6 years, with the 0708 season being a great example of it.

I also don’t agree with the just because fabs has gone we can’t play the arsenal system, when wilshere returns, we have a player of that quality. We need to get that balance of technique and power I totally agree, but doesn’t wenger deserve that chance to adapt? It is absurd to think that we have to abandon our principles because of the loss of one player!! We played great football without fab and Nasri before, we beat utd at home last year with neither of them.

Yes we need to be more adaptable, but going back to the 442 when all the teams around us will be changing to more of the way we play would be absolutely insane in my opinion.

A change in players and balance , ok

A change in Philosophy, no way, completely counter productive.

  34. namibiangooner

they are already above us, even though we are 7 games into the season. i cant see wenger turning it around.

  35. Lurch LeRouge

    Goon,

I made no aspersions to your economic situation, how could I when today I’ve clearly spent as much time at the console as you, that would be hypocritical.

    as for your job?
thanks you couldn’t have made my point any stronger……

you just confirmed that you’re unusually time rich & can indulge your AFC obsession & I’ll bet you don’t pay for the information you spend most of your time consuming right?

Every consumer assumption your making is flawed because of this.

The majority of people don’t sit around reading news relevant to other football teams – perpetuating a false economy for conspiracy.

People make time to read the news that’s relevant to them, the rest of the time they are doing stuff that is a lot more important to their lives. If they’re not, then they are probably not yet properly caught up in the struggle of life etc….

I can just tell that your talking from your youthful heart, and that your opinion isn’t based on any real reading or cultural analysis, or real life time/pressure constraints…

unfortunately your the perfect breeding ground for conspiracy theory.

Young male with too much spare time – a bored mind – combined with a highly developed sense of paranoia and authority complex.

I’m guessing from a single parent household.

  36. Lurch LeRouge

    Keyser,

lets pick it up again another time, I’ve got to split.

    but quickly….

I say ‘self correcting’ because the writers can be controversial some of the time, but the majority of the time they have to provide copy that’s consistent with their editorial voice.

If they stray too far & too often, readership wanes, so the system regulates itself – the author goes hungry or writes material on key.

  37. goonerDNA is dench

    Nambian, I love windhoek draught

as much as it pains me yes they abit better than us this year which shows how shit we are this year NOT how good they are.

I hate spuds more than I hate anything football related more so than wenger

Ivory, so what if the arsenal PR team have truth to conceal? What on earth has it do with bias in the media against us?? Every team has pr people concealing “truths”.

Tony Atwood no more walks on our constitutional right of free of speech and expression than Geoff and pedro do. You are mad if you think that they don’t ban people for having a different opinion, I am certainly not the only one to have come on here and noted with a sense of irony the blogs tag line, “where you can have an opinion, not get one” If untold can be described as fascists, then certainly le grove can also.. The fact that you fail too see this worries me slightly. This place is pretty legendary for banning “AKBs”. So really Ivory don’t be so blindly loyal ;-)

  39. namibiangooner

    Windhoek draught is pretty good.

and i agree that it shows how shit we are. We really need a miracle to turn this around, or we need to change the system since changing managers is out of there question clearly.

  40. IvoryGoonz

even their comment section can’t avoid criticism anymore.
and I dont see you criticizing anything on Untold. just licking Tony’s ass and eventually asking a broad-range question that no one cared about.

  41. IvoryGoonz

“This place is pretty legendary for banning “AKBs””
and despite this you, and few more, are still posting…

    So which one is it?

  42. goonerDNA is dench

    yes I live in SA

I think the manager will walk if we have a shit season and the fans speak up in unity

Again what has that got do with anything?? Regardless of when where and how people read the news, if it is biased they will get a biased opinion.

So if you are caught up in the “struggle of life” does that mean you don’t form an opinion when you read the news? or are some how immune to bias because you have more important things to do? I really don’t get your point.

Your assumptions of my life are pretty crude. I’ll have you know I think conspiracy theories are mainly BS. Yes we landed on the moon, and no I don’t believe in UFO’s. Although you are right about the single parent bit :-)

I think Le grove should welcome AKBs with open arms. A different opinion is important and is conducive to lively discussions .We are all fans of the greatest club on earth so hey guys don’t dis the AKB’s just because they deluded fools.

  47. namibiangooner

when will the fans ever speak in unity? we are already devided in whether he has been successful over the last 6 year. the board who could actually drive him out are a bunch of pussies.

  48. Dial Square

The only people that should be banned are those that abuse others, or make comments about the manager and players in poor taste. No names.

  49. Goon in 60 Seconds

Ivory, I have never attempted to become one of the community on Untold. I have posted maybe 5 times and at least 3 of them where quick, “nice post” or whatever. So you are wrong. I only blog on le grove. I started the week of the “who is wenger accountable to” question, and that’s how I found out about le grove, the opinions got me mad so I started blogging. I don’t really feel the need to spend my time on a blog where we all agree.

  50. namibiangooner

    Dial square

exactly. we dont all have to be havin the same opinion. how boring will the blog get. the thing i like about this blog is the comments section, were you can have your opinion and debate and defend it.

i alway imagine what man u blogs are like? ” yeah we beat Arseanl 8-2, we are really good hey? yes we are. see you next natch.” very boring i say. just like supporting barcelona is very boring. the only debate the have is: will we score five goals today? will messi score a hattrick? boring i tell u.

  51. IvoryGoonz

Dial: am I allowed to use my own expression “copyrighted Ivory Goonz 2001 Ltd see an admin for your annual fee”:
    “child trafficker”? or “body snatcher”?

Ivory, would you not agree that this perfectly describes Gambon??, and I’m not saying he doesn’t have things to say that are relevant, but he breaks every rule in blog land, and he is never banned. Still think le grove is so innocent?

  53. IvoryGoonz

Dial: after all everyone who saw these comments and had a bit of discernment would have realised that it was exagerated, and not an actual accusation.
the others… well, I guess Bade needs clients.

  54. goonerDNA is dench

Ivory, unlike a few here I don’t think the money is the problem with wenger I think its a stubborness to win the title in his way, youth policy, with him being a star maker with tippy tappy football.

  55. IvoryGoonz

Goon: are you here to be the police of blogland? dont we have enough of one at the stadium and with a PR team? send them your CV, please.
That’s Pedro and Geoff’s blog. Period.
Oh, and one thing for you, no one is innocent. only the brave have the balls to admit it and face the consequences.
if you’ve been banned in the past Willy, or whatever Tony Attwood, it’s because you came on here and dissed le grove and people.

  56. Trickygonner

Just had a look on Untold. I think that they think that Arsenal FC are doing well, prospering even in this tough economic climate. Whats seemingly escaped these mugs is that we’re fucking rubbish and thats what most Afc fans care about.
As for Goon. What a Cock !

  57. Goon in 60 Seconds

When I first got banned there was quit a lot of outrage about it, people saying “he doesn’t abuse, free willy etc”. The only thing I was guilty of was challenging the views of the blog.

And another thing, when I first started blogging here, the amount of abuse I received was insane. I remained calm and non abusive, until I realised people are actually less offended in here if you do swear. I probably became a little abusive eventually but that was well after my initial spate of bannings.

  58. Goon in 60 Seconds

And yes ivory you know if I repeat what was said i would open up a whole load of shit. Needless to say, every long term grover knows the things Gambon used to say repeatedly, and they also know that he was NEVER ONCE banned for it.

  59. IvoryGoonz

Goon: your own experience. not a generality.
you come on here for that purpose.
challenging the writers and posters of the blog, only.
be creative? a 5/5 footie tournie? you kidding me?
you go on untold to lick asses. you come on here to challenge.
when you actually say your opinion here, you dont accept there are many more readers ready to challenge you, and comment on what you said, and will call you delusional. after a while, you’re just being boring – like I can be – and no one will even comment on your posts.
go on, go on untold and do that, challenge Tony on his views about the great Lord Wenger.
see how many people are actually there to actually even talk with you.
you havent answered a single question btw. interesting. again. actually not.

  60. IvoryGoonz

Goon: he was told to stop for the greater good, and he did. even Dial didnt named him especially for that reason. Do you have to attack people constantly? YOU mention him, forget, forgive, let go, or piss off.
we are not here to talk about the past forever, but the present and the future.
now go back to your master, change subject, or dont expect an answer from me.

  61. Goon in 60 Seconds

What questions? Like am I the police of blogland? No I’m not.

I don’t blog on untold stop saying I do, and yes I do only come on here to challenge people.

You are not answering any of my questions either Ivory, as I actually stated, if Untold controls views published it is only doing what le grove does too, yet you refuse to admit that there could be anything wrong with this place. So maybe this isn’t getting us anywhere Shard

  62. IvoryGoonz

60: I didnt say you blog on there, there’s nothing to blog about, no one answer you, you must have missed that bit. I suggest you read up before you post again.
but everyone can check comments for themselves on today’s article… now forget, forgive, let go, or piss off.

  63. DM

I think we should employ the sweeper system

we should play 4 defenders behind our back 4 – only real way to stop the flood of goals….

then play Theo and Ox up front, soak the pressure launch precision long balls on the counter – run Forest, run!

    COYG!

  64. IvoryGoonz

60: and while you’re at it, can you please enumerate and explain the rules of blogland? Im quite interested.

  65. Ricky

    Gi60,

How long have you been supporting arsenal if you don’t mind me asking?

You do remember when the media used to be hanging off of our courgettes & plums don’t you??

I still got video tapes with commentary from martin tyler & andy gray litteraly drooling over us..

  66. IvoryGoonz

I swear, Arsene got himself an iPhone and started to use it while he’s got nothing to do during internationals.

  67. Goon in 60 Seconds

” you go on untold to lick asses. you come on here to challenge.”

That pretty much implies that I blog there.

“we are not here to talk about the past forever, but the present and the future.” Our conversation was about how Untold ban you for having an opinion right? I was just pointing out that Le grove are equally selective about who they moderate, but you don’t seem quite as willing to accept that as you do your own opinion on Untold.Whatever as raised about the past was specifically to counter the argument you started

  68. Goon in 60 Seconds

Ricky, that is generally the only argument I get to counter the media bias thing, literally the only one.

I would say that I remember the press slagging us where they could. I remember plenty of articles about our “too old” back four or our non english team. Ofcourse they couldn’t slag us too much when we were winning everything but it isn’t really relevant to the fact that they do it to us now. Listen, i’m not saying it is the route caus of all our problems but to deny it exists disproportionately to other teams i think is wrong in my opinion. We get a very very raw deal from the English media.

  69. IvoryGoonz

Ofcourse they couldn’t slag us too much when we were winning everything but it isn’t really relevant to the fact that they do it to us now.
    -
yes it is relevant ffs, we arent winning now are we?

  70. incesc

    goon

i think its because we have a relatively bad football team now considering our riches and that arsenal fans are pretty outspoken online and on radio shows etc.

If the media had a go at norwich i doubt it would sell many newspapers or get much traffic on a website.

but then you do have a lot of journalists such as amy lawrence and john cross that support arsenal and write good articles about us.

if we were winning more than 1 game every month wed get a better write up, do you want people to write, they lost 8-2 but arsenal are great?

  71. Goon in 60 Seconds

It’s not relevant Ivory. It isn’t the criticism that is the problem, it is the targeted and systematic ways that certain news outlets criticise Arsenal.

    Cheers for the address,

  72. Goon in 60 Seconds

    Incesc

I just think the level of criticism we get is disproportionate and relentless. Talksport, the mirror, the sun etc seem to enjoy the demise of arsenal and i believe the believe their listeners/readers do as well.

What do you know of the rumours incesc?

  73. IvoryGoonz

60: Im saying if he was totaly innocent he would have just said “you’re having a laugh”. and that his private life, changes nothing to the football side, just piles up.

  74. Goon in 60 Seconds

Ivory please excuse me, but I am not really familiar with the story. So he was accused of having an affair in 2010, what happened to resolve it then?

  75. incesc

    nothing goon

ive noticed a couple of people saying somethings going to blow up, just interested what it is.

of course if ice says it, its probably untrue as he seems to be a serial liar…

and seriously, talksport and the sun?

just dont read or listen to shit like that.

le-grove is the most balanced and legit write up on arsenal around…

    :)

  76. Goon in 60 Seconds

the problem is that sooo many people do read or listen, but anyway I think my brain is going to explode if i talk about the media any more :-0.

  77. Goon in 60 Seconds

If it is just an affair then who really gives a monkeys? “serious accusations” sounds a lot more, well, serious!

  78. IvoryGoonz

and that’s her official site. if it was all lies, I’d expect that site to be down.
he broke her heart, after promising his wife it wouldnt happen again, thats what happened.

  79. Ricky

    Gi60,

It’s a free country, if they wanna take a banner into the stadium to show they’ve lost faith in a manager that many other fans have also lost faith in who are you to knock em…?

Further more what can you or any other akb do about it?

    I think i know the answer already…

  80. Goon in 60 Seconds

Calling him a cancer is disgrace and you know it. It only adds to my argument about the media, talksport actually have the cancer quotes on their website ffs! No other team I tell you, no fucking other team

  81. frenchie

i am sure their are better prostitutes than sonia. just goes to show that wenger is willing to go for the cheap rather than the class.

  82. roaaary

@goon you seem to spend a lot of your day on a forum where your views are laughed at. You know you cant change a lot of peoples perspectives here so i dont understand why you try. fact of the matter is wenger is on a long poor run of results and doesnt appear to be making any decisions to halt that run. He is senile, making crap decisions and his managerial methods are dated. Get rid and find someone with their finger on the button

  83. Goon in 60 Seconds

    Roarry

I think most appreciate the balance, that is unless you are intolerant to the views of others. There’s a word for that I think

  84. kwik fit

Rooney’s dad has been arrested again, for suspicious and irregular betting, he bet a tenner arsenal win the next two games.
