Wilshere out till Christmas, what about Vermaelen, what is wrong with our medics?

I find it absolutely bizarre that we can lose players for so long and not do anything about it when it’s happening at the time and before the window shuts, oh how could it have been had we signed Mata, Hazard and Cahill instead of Park, Yossi and Santos.

By that I mean that we lost Rosicky for nearly 2 years, lost Eduardo for a year, Ramsey for 9 months, Vermaelen for 13 months (so far) Djourou for over a year and God knows how long we’ve lost Robin and Gibbs for.

You can’t do anything about injuries I realise that, but surely we should look at replacing players when we know they are out for so long?

So why don’t our medical team tell the manager that we’ll be without players for long periods, or that there is a possibility that we may be without them and allow us to start a season with a full squad, then when the injured players return we’ll worry about who the best player is and what to do with them, I know we have squad sizes but we do have a lot of kids in there that could drop out if need be.

Anyway there’s nothing we can do now, but we should take on board this situation from January, if Vermaelen is now a crock then he needs replacing, I would with Cahill, but then I would have done that in May.

Let’s hope we see the Cahill of last season today, the one that got sent off, today won’t be easy, because no one will be easy and this team is pretty awful, so the best we can hope for is for the defence to try and play like they did in Dortmund, Mertesacker is a good player, never mind his speed, Tony wasn’t fast and nor is John Terry, he’ll come good, it’s the hopelessness surrounding him that bothers me.

Still what will we do today? This would be my shout.

I would give Oxo another go and keep Theo for Wednesday, this team ought to be enough to see Bolton off, It’s not that I think we are that bad (really), it’s we don’t have a clue how to play together yet, we will, of that there is no doubt and maybe today will see that happening.

Don’t forget last season we were short of three world class players, a centreback a DM and a goalscorer, then we sold Nasri and Cesc, neither of them have been replaced and we still need the three we needed last season, so why are we surprised at the results? I’m not.

Anyway keep ‘em crossed and keep the faith, let’s begin our season today!

    Lampards been average for the last year or so..

    Mata looks likely to be there main creative midfielder now… Gotta say we seem to have missed out on a good little player there.

    Blackburn were up for it last weekend with it being at home and took advantage of the defensive mistakes.
    The way they defend though they look like relegation candidates.

    It is linked with a combination of two things. First of all we had disappointing results recently and the second factor is that we are going towards a huge financial crisis which has been already in the society. We will be hit much more and I think football suffers from the consequences as well. You can look at all the clubs in England and the Premier League seats go slower and slower out. The stadiums will be less quickly full and we have noticed that already. We are maybe a special case because we had disappointing results but the other clubs had the same problem.

    any thoughts on this?

    bolton had about 200 fans there today, it was empty in the away end. considering we have been on the ropes recently its surprising,

    city was half empty at their game today as well. I dont think they could ever sell out a stadium for 3 games a week like arsenal do.

    arsenall had 45 thousand vs shrewsbury which is actually incredible considering its just a glorified friendly

    people compare him to denilson but every time ramsey gets the ball hes already had a look and hes ahead of the game.

    once he matures hes a fucking player and a half.

    you cant dominate a midfield at his age now but he will start doing it soon

    its not his fault really as no one covers him and he is always in 2 minds who to play.

    we seem to always leave a man unmarked and gibbs has to mark 2 players but nevers convincingly covers anyone

    I don’t mean to contribute to the poxy comments count but I disagree with the rMsey closer to Cesc statement. That was the feelings expressed by the Coaching staff when he first arrived. 3 years on I just don’t see it.

    i dont think ramsey will ever see the game as fast as cesc can but i see the abiltity in him to get near that.

    cesc was a one off but ramsey reads the game really well, he needs his body to work as fast as his mind.

    he does lack a speed f touch and a turn of pace right now. hopefully its coming.

    lampard and gerrard never had that though

    yeah he relies on his recovery pace a little too much, think he needs to temper his attitude to get forward a little, he was a midfielder by trade if im not mistaken.

    bollox? it remains to be seen, the things is robin as the other seniors lost their belief in arsene, so as long as he stays no way they are going to stay…..

    if arsene thinks bringing squillaci was the marquee signing of last season, and what was done this season is acceptable for him (and we thank TV’s fitness for the addition of per, otherwise…..), so its glaring he lost the plot and he’s went so so far away…..

    so why for robin, theo, arshavin, tommy to stay, when they can get more money elsewhere and a real chance of trophies rather than emirates cup and 4th place ones (giving that we’ve already missed on the emirates, and on course of missing on 4th spot)….

    that means rigidly observed stadium exile and zero merchandise purchases…

    losing Cesc was still remotely acceptable, given the story with Barca DNA and all that…

    Theo should just sign the extension, given how little he contributed so far, RvP should repay the love when he was out injured all this time, ditto Vermaelen…

    the only one I would understand is AA, given that Wenger treated him like shit…

    i think when the negotiations with those stall, the board will panic and kick arsene out, as even mugs like them will get the real message, and will foresee the empty seats of next season…..

    the funny thing is, as nuch as arsene is crap lately, sporting wise, he will be the first manager to get sacked on “financial basis”….

    wouldn’t that be ironic? to sack the accountant manager on economic basis?
