Player tweets he’s on his way! – Mini Cesc update – The truth about Arsenal Colney medical

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Wow, things really do move slowly when you’re an Arsenal fan.

Transfers aren’t simple unless of course you are any other club other than Arsenal. Sunderland like Connor Wickham, they sign him. United need a keeper, they sign one from Athletico Madrid and yes, they tied up the deal before July 1st despite it not being able to go through until that date. You see, that date shouldn’t prevent a club from talking to players. It’s like making a pre-release order on iTunes.

Arsene Wenger is talking about making signings towards the end of the month over at AshburtonGrove.co.uk. He’s already shifting the goal posts from having players signed up early in the window. He’s also banging on about that self sustaining model and how Arsenal aren’t rich.

Bore me later Arsene… put your hand in the Arsenal coffers and spend some of that cash we know is there.

The medical…

The rumours about a medical going off at the training ground yesterday were wrong, not to say that a medical didn’t happen for a potential Arsenal player, just that they don’t happen at the training ground. Football clubs don’t generally have the equipment to scan for cancer and do all for the in-depth tests they run for players. Even if they were doing just the basics, I can tell you for definite there were no new players at Colney yesterday. In fact, I can tell you there is no really exciting gossip to tell you from the club full stop on the player front.

The only information I gathered was that the feeling at Arsenal is that most of the rumours you’re hearing are being generated by the Barcelona press. Cesc doesn’t particularly want to be here, but he’ll be fully aware that Arsenal aren’t going to sell him for anything less than his worth and I’m pretty sure he won’t be striking… I think someone needs to sit Cesc down and explain his value. You’re worth £54million becuase you’re 24, you’ve got 300+ games of top class experience under your belt, you score goals, you make assists, you’ve won 2 international trophies and Barcelona have bid £40million for an untested Brazilian who has 3 caps… not to mention the price they’re being quoted for Sanchez.

To be honest, this whole Cesc debacle feels exactly the same as last year, you usually know some nonsense is going off when Graham Hunter sticks his nose into the conversation with some definite spoon fed crap from the Camp Nou.

Gervinho is a move still being talked about in the press. Against the back drop of losing Nasri, that really does feel an uninspired move. United are still in the hunt for our man, they think they can nab him for £20million. My gut feel says if anyone is leaving it’ll be him and if he goes, there is no way in a million years we’d sell Cesc at the same time. There would be riots at the club gates (or Underground car park), especially if United were his destination.

In other news, Jack Wilshere and his buddies don’t like boys in pink. According to court transcripts, that makes you part of the PB (Poofs Brigade). Pretty embarrassing that your mates kick off about pink shirts in a swanky West London nightclub. If I were Jack’s agent, and Jack asked me where he should take his muppet mates, I reckon I’d recommend Roadhouse. You can do what you like in there, acting like a twat is actively encouraged and the chances are, if Jack and his mates had started some trouble in there, they’d have taken a pasting.

Jack, when you start earning money, it’s time to ditch your uncultured school friends. You’re part of the elite. Bin your mates who are plumbers and low-level admin clerks. You’re better than them. Buy yourself an entourage, possibly from Adebayor and take the party to your place. Night clubs are so Chelsea.

Ricky Alvarez confirmed via his twitter that he’d love to play for Arsenal. Looks like he’s in the bag then.

Me encantaria jugar en el arsenal, seria un sueño para mi! Ojala dios quiera que se concrete!
@11rickyalvarez

Barcelona benchman killed all Arsenal fans hopes of picking up an inexperienced, untested, under 21 replacement for Cesc when he signed up to a new deal with a release clause of £88million. Nice to know that Barca value potential at double the price they value Cesc.

If we do decide to sell Cesc, how about this for an incredibly novel idea… sign a replacement before hand. That’d be nice. Very nice indeed. It’d also act as a fail safe. If we can’t sign a player, we don’t sell. That’s fair right?

We’ll finish on some swanky pictures of the new kit from Nike and a music video that sums up Jack and his mates, listen to the words. Very apt.

  1. Wenger the liar

“There is nothing moving yet. The period will be more active at the end of July when we will need to really strengthen the team.”

    AW 30/06/2011

  2. DaleDaGooner

I swear i hope that was just a bluff and he is announcing 4 signings tomorrow…fuck! this man is fucking insane

  3. 1886-2006

I am getting sick of the lack of respect shown to the fans by both the Club and the Players. If Nasri is looking for a move then he or his agent or the Club should come out and tell people straight. The same goes for Cesc and any other player that is angling for a move, just tell the f*****g truth.
You have earned a fortune while you have been at this club and have been adored by the Fans who go week in week out, and other fans who are less fortunate and cannot afford the prices to enrich you with your exorbitant wages. Cesc I can sort of understand, he wants to play for his boyhood club, and who wouldn’t?

I cannot remember in my lifetime a time in football that has left such a bad taste in my mouth. The arrogance shown by some players is astounding, they have finally disconnected all ties to the fans (this applies to all clubs and the vast majority of players) and treat us like shit. Unfortunately nothing will change, and to tell the truth, I believe it will get worse before there is a serious backlash. I can also see in the not too distant future a footballer being seriously assaulted due to their behaviour towards the fans and the club they play for. After all, we can only take so much disloyalty and outright abuse. Yes, I know abuse does not sound relevant but it is. They are abusing their position as representatives of the game of football, they are mistreating the people who put them in their fine houses and garages full of cars.

The boards of clubs are also equally to blame in this situation. Chairmen just want to be seen as some F*****g lord of the manor type, as saviour figures who want to be adored for giving you something that you already owned and cherish more than they ever will.

I went to my first match in 1972, against Liverpool, and my last match was against Spurs in 2006. My whole family follow Arsenal and have done for generations. But now I am seriously doubting my love of the game. It is not just the transfer window blues but something inside me changed when Highbury (Heaven) was abandoned in 2006. I had lost the place of so many schoolboy dreams and fantasies, my sanctuary amongst people whom I felt were family. Being without trophies is not the reason either, I have known longer hardship than this, as have many others on LeGrove. It is the bad taste that all this money has bought to the game. The stench of greed is overpowering and has forced loyal fans to make the decision to abandon their love and their dreams for this great game of ours. Football has lost it’s soul and i doubt if it will ever get it back.

I want to say more but I am too angry and upset and would probably go off on some long winded rant.

    JUST TELL THE F*****G TRUTH.

  4. incesc

    for left back?

not that he will sign anyone decent but imagining we had a proper top manager who do you want for clichy.

I want baines but im english…

  5. Wenger the liar

    Bellerin -

“Starting today, I’m an Arsenal FC player. It gives pride to play for this great club!”

That comment may help to restore an already difficult relationship he has with some fans, after admitting just after signing for Arsenal he would like to return to Barcelona one day.

  6. BOOZY

there are some positive i can get from wenger selling clichy-

    1. clichy going, means we’ll definitely get both cahill and samba, which implies that vermalean would be our left back- and gibbs still mentoring- best case scenario.

    2. we’ll get jose enrique, who’s definetly would become spanish number one left back if he joins us- which also implies we’ll get only cahill- still an improvement- but i’ll prefer option one.

    3. finally wenger would sign an unknown player- who’s a very good left back. with cahill the only other defender bought, so pretty much same as scenario 2.

point is when it comes to signing full backs, or replacing fullbacks- wenger rarely gets it wrong… sorry- wenger never gets it wrong.

  7. SUGA3

yeah, letting Cole go and replacing him with Clichy was some coup, eh?

and Vermaelen is a shit LB, enough of playing players out of position…

  8. BOOZY

    at 21;33 i said-

who wants to place a bet- arsenal announces the signing of a 16 year old kid tomorrow.

    and this happens-

Arsenal have agreed to sign Barcelona Cadete B winger Héctor Bellerin, according to Sky Sports. The Spanish Under 16 international follows fellow La Masia product Jon Toral to North London.

  9. Wenger the liar

    Boozy -

    Is that a serious question?

Ashley cole has made less mistakes in his career than Clichy has in certain matches.

Cole is solid, he is a player you own and you can forget about the position, its sorted. you can also forget about the opposition right winger, its sorted.

  10. Wenger the liar

    Boozy -

No. We went from a left back who you could argue, without sounding a cock, was the best left back in the world to someone who has consistently fucked up whilst learning their trade and who is now exiting stage left before theyve hit their prime.

    good enough?

  11. BOOZY

wtl – fair enough you can whatever about clichy, he isnt our player anymore- but he was an invisible.

  12. Wenger the liar

    Gervinho.

Theres a great bit of commentary when bould chips the ball forward and adams volleys it into the corner against everton, last game of the season makes it 4-0 and weve won the league.

    On this of all days we sign Gervinho and that commentary is so apt;

Gervinho, just about sums it all up.

  13. Wenger the liar

    Boozy -

Dont get me wrong, I dont think CLichy is a cunt he is just not on the same level as Cole.

  14. IvoryGoonz

@willybilly: I’m sad I didn’t come earlier. Could have had some fun.
On Wenger’s tendencies with kids, I’ll tell you one thing. Same goes for Michael Jackson. Whether it’s true or not, you will not see them officially accused for it.
But seriously, why do we keep replacing quality by maybe good potential?
Why does Wenger not lower his salary? That would be a good start, if money is tight, everyone should follow. But we only keep being profitable. Not sustainable.
Just get those bloody trophies in now. Not for whatever fan or whatever other team thinks. But for our own pride. Not for the pride of saying we won a trophy to everyone else. But to justify all these years of patience and be proud of your own team. Being top 4 is good enough maybe for you. But not for lot of other fans. Nether for the players. May they be Denilson or Fabregas. One CL won is worth 5 to 10 times whatever money you get from qualifying for it. I’d rather win it one year, then focus on the league, and whatever happens becomes bonus. But not just qualify for it for it’s financial stability “bonuses” and fail everytime. Rather than just hoping other teams will just all get it wrong.
That’s not the ambition we need. After so many years of “that’s good enough”, how do you expect to attract players or keep your players and fans happy while you keep it “sustainable”?. Keep Wenger as a consultant with a lower salary if you want. But he’s not “motivational”, penny-pinch on players value (by the way, reducing the players value also reduces the value you’ll resell him) and maybe you didn’t read him correctly. Wait for end of July to strengthen.
Wait my friend. What was that book again? “Trust me”.
We are missing on at least 100m jackpot (£or€) on CL every year. We could have at least won it once. Had Wenger strengthened WHEN it was necessary, not after the event.
Putting pressure on more youngsters? Really? ok, you’ll discover pure gems. But it will take you 10 brass for 1 gold. You do have to buy some quality signings from time to time. And you need a cohesive team to win anything.
You cant just keep driving not checking the gas level, and once it’s low, decide you’ll only get gas from the next station and pray for the best, and if you didnt have enough gas, God help you, you will push the car. While we could have strengthened the team all over the pitch in the last 5 years.
It doesn’t matter what you do, it’s when you do it that matters.
We should be buying replacement before selling.
And again. 1ST OF JULY MIGHT BE THE OPENING OF THE WINDOW, BUT NOTHING PREVENTS YOU FROM NEGOTIATING FEES AND CONTRACTS IN ADVANCE, THUS HAVING REPLACEMENT EARLY, AND NOT LOSE MORE TIME ON “GELLING” RAtHER THAN PREPARING THE TEAM FITNESS-WISE.
Also, nothing prevents Wenger from announcing his future signings.
Marseille are strapped more than Arsenal, with extension of the stadium losing capacity for 3 years. Less income money. Still. Marseille invests. And is sustainable. And might just kick Arsenal’s ass if they meet in Qualifs or later.
Wenger made a major mistake from start in his project youth. Thinking you could leave 11 youngsters together to win trophies, and letting go our experienced players one by one. Just because he doesn’t have money?

  15. Wenger the liar

    Keyser -

Doesnt matter what team youre playing in when youre getting ripped one on one mate, makes no odds.

  16. Ricky

Clichy is nowhere near as good as cole, Bad comparrison.

If i could pick one left back for us it would be to have cole back. Coentrao would be a good one too.

  17. incesc

would be good if wenger has another sagna lined up for left back.

its weird, i can see ade going to city (greedy) and toure (thick) but i dont get clichy and nasri.

why do they want to leave the top french side in the world?

  18. Keyser

WTL – Ripped one on one ? Clichy’s pretty decent one on one. The best teams limit those situations to the bare minimum and unless you’re a complete div, it’d be obvious that Gilberto/ Vieira provided far more defensive cover, than any of the players we have now.

Fuck even Pires managed more tackles than Arshavin.

  19. Keyser

Hope it is bullshit, Clichy’s a decent player and considering Citeh play with about 12 dm’s he’d probably be very good for them aswell.

  20. Wenger the liar

    keyser -

Clichy gets ripped on the deck on a regular basis.

Unless I am a complete div?

    Yawn.

Have you got a point to this argument mate? Is Clichy better than Cole? I said they are not on the same level, disagree? Or you just upset because Arsene isnt repaying your faith in him again.

  21. Rohan

Clichy’s given too rough a ride on here imo. Even disregarding all the stats in his favour, you’d think that he was the worst LB in the premierships.

He’s pretty fucking good I think. He’s good at intercepting and has a solid tackle on him. Has a tendency to screw up the offside trap but that’s nothing a little bit of defensive coaching won’t solve. As Keyser says, he doesn’t get much defensive protection and I don’t mean just Arshavin.

And that’s without mentioning what a great servant of the club he has been. Always given his all and always been polite, respectful. If he does leave, I won’t be devastated but I do feel we need to show some respect to one of our oldest serving players.

  22. Rohan

Clichy’s isn’t that bad one-on-one. In fact, I’d even go as far to say that he’s better than most.
He pretty much always kept C.Ronaldo quiet in open play. FACT

  23. Rohan

Baines is as dodgy defensively if not more although he’s better attackingwise. ALthough the stats are skewed because of him being the designated corner and set-piece taker.

  24. Keyser

WTL – Nah mate, it’s just the constant hyperbole and exaggeration I have a problem with at some point there should be someone sitting next to you slapping you in the face with a wet fish telling you to get a grip of yourself.

I think there’s 4 groups of Arsenals fans now, those for and against Wenger, and then those for and against the dickheads on blogs or in the media that think they know better than others.

  25. Wenger the liar

    Keyser -

Why dont you just answer the question?

I said Clichy isnt as good as Cole, do you disagree?

Its fucking simply mate, everything else youre banging about is an argument youre having by yourself.

  26. Lurch LeRouge

yeah Rohan those stats Gooby linked up the other day had Clichy topping most of the defensive stats, its the attacking and mistakes per min stats he wasn’t the best at if i recall correctly.

  27. incesc

    barcastuff barcastuff
Barcelona have made a new 38.5M bid for Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas (24) and want to receive the reply at the latest on Monday. [sport]

    anyone got their number?

i’ll tell em right now where to stick their money, no need to wait til monday.

    cunts

  28. Keyser

WTL – No, I said Clichy didn’t play with the same players Cole did, you said..

“Doesnt matter what team youre playing in when youre getting ripped one on one mate, makes no odds.”

  29. Wenger the liar

    Keyser -

Yes mate in response to you saying they played in different teams.

It would be a bit difficult to judge players against each other if they had to appear in the same team to make a comparison no?

o whats the answer to the question, is he as good as Cole?

Fucking Keyser, the greatest straw man builder on the internet.

  30. Keyser

Lurch – Following on from earlier, push them to the edge of despair, give them some hope again. Clichy/ Nasri gone, Gervinho to sign/ Chamberlain to start talks.

  31. Lurch LeRouge

i don’t call that hope mate, but each to their own i suppose.

Hope for me is prioritizing defensive reinforcements and clearing the deadwood, to the extent where we just buy them out from their contracts and dump them to free up space in the squad, if necessary.

ffs denilson said he’d rather play 6 months at santos if necessary…

  32. Keyser

WTL – That’s pretty much the point isn’t it though, you’re judging them against each other, but they played in different teams.

Not teams of comparable quality and considering that when either of them steps onto the pitch they’re one of eleven players it’s a bit harsh to completely deride one over the other.

Is he as Good as Cole ? He’s had worse games he’s had better I’d say, has he been as consistent as Cole over the years ? No, also Cole had a pretty poor season last year.

  33. incesc

thanks a lot lurch i was trying to be hard now you’ve given me the opportunity im too scared to go through with it

  34. Keyser

Lurch – Mean’t more in the way of the media producing print for themselves and keeping people’s interest.

  35. Wenger the liar

Keyser just say no mate, you wont be any less of a man.

Thats not the point mate??? how do you think managers judge players? When Arsene lies to sheep like you and says he will only buy better than what he has, how can he judge this having not them appear in the same team as who they are replacing? How does that miracle happen then?

Its a simply question with a simply answer and yet I am a div LOL, mate do you ever wonder why youre a fat single middle aged man living in the baseroom flat of his mums house?

    LOL

Keyser, tell me about those four types of Arsenal fans again.

    Yawn.

  36. Lurch LeRouge

fuck sake Incesc, you do realize we can’t take you seriously if he fucks off with that derisory offer, your gonna have to change your name to….

    Injack?
    or
    Invanp
    Inverm

    etc… get tweeting pal

  37. Keyser

WTL – Haha, that ones easy, you should’ve given me that question first, because I failed at life and now all I’ve got left in the way of friends, is dopey cunts like you sitting at the other end of the virtual highway, but that’s neither here nor there.

You found a Protest March that specifically fits your needs yet ? Or are you just waiting for things to play out like the rest of the sheep ?!

    Think you need some rest.

  38. Lurch LeRouge

theres a highway at my fingertips?

shit been thinking its a gutter full of pussy, tunes and no marks till now…

  39. SurferX

Best thing Ive seen in the Arsenal blogsphere in the past week? Arctic Monkeys. Class…

Shame about the groundhog summer. Someone wake me up when its over.

    zzzzZZZZzzzzzzZZzzzzZZZzzz…..

  40. Lurch LeRouge

i organise it to distract you while i stick table legs up your missus arsehole!

    sleep well.

  41. incesc

never been to gay pride, might go for a boogy.

trying to lay off the booze tho after glasto, sorry keyser, think i gave myself an ulcer.

  42. incesc

    i’m gonna keep incesc lurch

dont blame the guy for leaving, id do the same in the reverse situation. Good luck to him, its just a shame he never had a proper team to play in with a defence and a lightening quick striker.

  43. SurferX

Its official. You can now all attack Wenger. Unleash the dogs.

    willybilly says:
    June 30, 2011 at 13:35

Are you people incapable of waiting until 1st of july before attacking wenger??

  44. Lurch LeRouge

    any glasto revelations?

looked pretty average on the beeb, but they only show the lame shit. qotsa looked alright, but their a bit old now

  45. Lurch LeRouge

haha SurferX something tells me itchywilly won’t assimilate any criticism unless it comes from you direct

  46. willybilly

    @IVory

First of all, to compare Wenger to Michael Jackson, a man who was officially accused of child abuse twice and clearly had weird obsessions with been around kids, it quite disgraceful of you.
the wenger rumour is an ENTIRELY BASELESS thing created by hateful moronic football fans, because he was so ahead of his time regarding youth policy.

    Any way onto football matters

So you are saying why do we keep replacing quality with potential? ,
Your acting like the season has already begun and we have sold all our players and replaced them with nobodies. We have cahill in the bag, and you think Nasri(even if he goes) is that much better than gervinho or mata?

infact id say Miyaichi looks a better player than nasri. Plus chamberlain is one of the most exciting prospects in world football at the moment, and he is as good as ours.

So don’t assume things that you don’t know about. Wenger has promised to spend, and do you really think he is crazy enough not to replace any player that leaves, if nas, fab and clichy go, there will be replacements brought in for each one for sure. And they will be proven players too, if not the board and wengers life would be made a misery and his team could drop out of the top four, he is not stupid, our team will be stronger next year i don’t doubt that for a second, its just the media playing on the emotions of fans, and creating hysteria.

My opinion on cesc remains, the team will be better off without him, just like when henry left and cesc took charge.others wil do the same when cesc leaves.

As for getting in a trophy now!, do you think that the board and Wenger don’t know that it is better for being sustainable to win things?,but you have to look at how the other teams are achieving it like chavs and city, if they lost their source of money, the club would collapse, this will never happen to arsenal.

and, never at one point have I denied the fact that not winning a trophy next year would be any thing other than a disaster, and precisely for the reasons you stated, pride being the main one.

But wenger and the board have realised this, they will spend and they will do it big.

Basically you are right in saying that we could have got into debt and we may have won stuff as a result, we also may not.
Look how much money real madrid have spent, and they have won bugger all recently,

so it is not such a certainty as you believe that if we had spent stupid amounts on players over the last five years we would of won, and that could have crippled the club and ruined us for good.

It is really very short sighted of you not to see that it is best to go through a frugal period after a stadium move like ours, because now we are making money we can spend it.

Its about long term stability, yes we could have spent hundreds of millions on players but if it had gone wrong like it did with leeds, we would be screwed.

so I for one am glad we have a manager who cares more about the future of the club, than short term gratification.

What ever mistakes arsene has made, Arsenal are world famous because of his brand of football, and that my friend is worth just as much, if not more money than trophies, in terms of global branding.

Why are you telling me about july 1st?

I know that clubs are aloud to make deals etc b4 this date, hence the bloody media circus that is going on a daily basis.

you are saying that we need to sign replacements before selling, so tell, me who have we actually sold yet?
So we are supposed to be buying replacements for players we haven’t even sold yet? seems strange..

And again none of us know whos been signed or what, if any of the relentless press stories are true.

finally you mentioned Wenger’s ;project being “doomed” , but you have got admit arsenal have been close, and wenger deserves a lot of credit for getting his team to play the way they do, even regardless of weather they had money or not. If they did have money then they should be at least given respect for being cautious about gambling with the clubs future. Wenger has kept us at the top while spending basically nothing, that is a feat that not many in world football could match let alone better.

He loves arsenal to the core and i’m convinced now we are coming out of the debt phase and the FFP rules are coming in, with talent like chamberain, miyaitchi and toraL, i am very confident that the future is bright for arsenal, a lot brighter than i think a lot of people concerned with short term gratification realise.

I am very positive for the future,

  47. incesc

    no revelations, usual stuff…

headliners were shit, saw the horrors and the streets in the john peel. wu tang, bb king and a depressed morrissey were good, elbow surprised me. Eels rocked it, got dragged to some dubstep stuff but was mosty off my face by then.

  48. Lurch LeRouge

yeah eels looked alright, very beardy. horrors ok live?

dissapointed with the WU though, not really the right time and place somehow…

  49. incesc

horrors were good, bit weird to see a band like that in the afternoon but i liked it.

wu tang was bizarre in the sun with no one really knowing any of their stuff but gravel pit, and method man kept shouting “make some noise white people” haha

  50. willybilly

    @ardent

I don’t know dude, Miyaitchi is a revelation, he’s got some pretty ronaldo like qualities.

Nasri is a very very good player, but he goes missing in games a lot and i think as an attacking force miyaitchi looks more potent in my opinion.

Anyway why sour grapes? we haven’t sold him, and i’m pretty sure we won’t

  51. ardentgooner

    Willybilly

I can accept people defending Wenger but you need to come up with better reasons..

You keep harping about FFP rules coming but let me tell you there is no point playing by the rules if you are the only club following them…

Also as you say that Chelsea and City if they lose their money source will go downhill…That is completely wrong…Even if Roman Abramovich decides to sell he has made Chelsea a global club and has ensured that someone else will be keen to get in on that if he decides to leave. Chelsea have the name, trophies and fans to attract interest from other rich businessmen and keep the club going…Same with city they are on the up and someone will gladly buy those clubs if they decide to sell…..

  52. SurferX

..i’m convinced now we are coming out of the debt phase..

Just a technical point: we have been out of the debt phase for approximately 18 months. Furthermore, just as you don’t get all the cash when you part with a player up front, neither do you spend it all- so we were in a position to spend because on future cash and income generation (plus the ring-fenced transfer funds) for around 2 years. Not big money (reltaive to City)- but the pot was around 20m two years ago and has grown considerably since.

But the issue is he has spent money- not big money relatively speaking- but his transfer record in the past 3 seasons is appalling.

My major disapointment with the summer so far hasnt been the lack of signings. Its the lack of departures. If we start the season with any of Clichy, Denilson and Bendtner in the squad- I might just give next season a miss altogether.

Anyway- on that note, off to bed. Good to see you back willy ;)

  53. incesc

can just see willy at 23:59 on deadline day:

“its not 12:00 yet, give him a chance for christs sake!”

“lose wenger, willy commits suicide :(

  54. willybilly

    @ardent

Uh? excuse me, EVERY team will have to follow FFP rules, I don’t see how people think teams will get away with it? absurd really

Please your taking what i said entirely out of context, I was talking about arsenal gambling with their future in terms of getting into debt. Now chelsea have won a lot, they are in an ok position, but they still lose money all the time, so if roman left big changes would be needed at the club, probably a period of financial prudency and youth development would ensue…. sound familiar.

As for city, the would be screwed if sheik stevens left now, they are in the place chavs were at the beginning of the roman empire, literally pissing money out of every hole, you would’nt find many owners who would be up for taking that on, and trying to sustain the absurd money that they are spending.

    @Surfer

    good to be back bro!

  55. scott

    Nuts – awake already.
    have we bought anyone????

Bellerin. And he’s talking if rejoining Barcelona one day.. hahaha groundhog day wheeeee.

  56. zeus

    Cesc is staying.

No way in hell is Wenger allowing the poster boy for project youth to go. None of with more than a year left are going anywhere.

Denilson wants to go, Fuck off cuz your staying. I fingered you as a future star andby my will, you will be. Diaby, Nikki B, ditto.

The man is still on a ‘project youth’ crusade.

I honestly don’t know why I’m shocked. The season’s #1 chant will be ‘SPEND SOME FUCKING MONEY.’

  57. BillikenGooner

Cmon.. we all know Wenger is like Stalin after the Germans invaded.

He’s thoughtless and dumbfounded that the core of his project are deserting him and he doesn’t know what to do. He’s probably hiding in a corner somewhere hoping the summer will end and it just be a bad dream and he wont have to face it and actually spend money to try to replace these guys.

  58. Moray

“I am a winner and I came here to win trophies but I’ve been here for five years and won nothing,” he said. “There’s something missing at Arsenal but no one knows what it is.”

Thus Spake Denilson…before returning to the club in a week’s time with no offers on the table.

  59. dennisdamenace

Well i’m now hearing that both RvP and Walcott are now into the last two years of their current deals. Do you think this profit driven club will sort these two out now?

  60. Arse&Nose©

    Nasri is a fat ponce

read ashburton grove’s blog and you will see that statistically Nasri is inefficient and we actually win more games without the fatty in our team,

  61. Geoff

It worries me a tad that we seem to be the only club linked to Gervinho, anyone else bothered by that?

  62. Arse&Nose©

Given Wenger’s recent quotes about the transfer market being like a game of poker, do you believe he is sitting at his desk now smirking about the media and fans not having a clue what he is planning next?

  63. Geoff

Dennis why would we not want someone that Rednose doesn’t want, his loss and our gain, he’s free as well.

Look at the coup we got when we stole Silvestre off them, mugs!

  64. G STAR

Why the hell would Wenger wait till end of July, thats stupid, coz everyone would be competing with the same player then Arsenal will get outbidded, then Arsenal will finish with nobody.

  65. Geoff

Sell Clichy for £7mil, get O’Shea for nothing, what a cracking manager Wenger is, and we get to keep Denilson, Rosicky, Bendtner and Squillaci.

  66. Arse&Nose©

Geoff, I honestly believe that Wenger gets a huge buzz out of leading us and the media astray. I can just imagine him pumping his fist when he makes his next surprise signing!

“I reveal to you….John O’shea! haha I bet you didn’t see that coming you ungrateful bastards!”

  67. Ivan Gazidis

    Hello Guys,

Hope you are all doing well this morning.

Just wanted to pop by to say do not panic we are very active at the moment.

I am currently in Germany on business however I will be out of a meeting in a couple of hours sat at an airport and will come back on to discuss a couple ofthings with you guys later.

    Great site Pedro and Geoff.

    All the best,

    Ivan.

  68. G STAR

Thats true Geoff, I use to support Wenger, now I realize he is the problem, and Lol A & N

PS DDM what RVP quotes are you talking about

  69. Arse&Nose©

Twitter is trending about some negative RVP quotes , can’t find a link to the actual quote anyone here know what’s going on???

  70. dennisdamenace

Geoff – It really is like a broken fucking record.

He spends a couple of weeks showing “disbelief” and coming across totally shattered at our annual collapse in the league. Then we get the “i know what we need” speeches, quickly followed by the pre ST renewal statements about “being busy in the transfer market” and “getting the business done early”…..Christ! This year he even got Brady & Gazidis to chip in and make all the right noises.

Now, after the ST deadline has been and gone we’re back to scratching around for freebies, cast offs, teenagers, and second rate players from the French League, as well as fucking up deals for quality players by offering half the money with a couple of AFC failures in part exchange. Quite frankly it’s embarrassing.

Like i’ve said before Wenger is the problem, change or go, otherwise we have another THREE years of this bullshit.

  71. Goonerman

Denilson considering offers from Villareal and Santos – Daily Mail / Brazilian media.

    Good get rid.

  72. wardo

    morning all,

Re O’Shea…….. you can not compare him to Silvestre. O’Shea, sadly, would improve us in defence.

Don’t get me wrong, I would much rather Arsenal sign Cahill, Samba and Baines to do that.

Cheap is expensive as we are well aware !! This year though !! cheap will be more expensive that the last 6 years put together almost as we will be out of the top 4

Still – looks like Gervinho is in the bag.

  73. Goonerman

Dennis – I’m getting to dislike everything Arsenal do at the moment but the situation isn’t that Wenger has imposed financial constrints on the club, Arsenal can’t keep up with the wages and fees top Euro clubs are paying. Year by year we are falling behind. When will it end?

  74. OPG

Oxlade and Alvarez aswell as Gervinho, not sure these are the signings we need after coming 4th. 2 unproven players with possibly Cesc and Nasri leaving or Arshavin and Bendtner while who knows about Rosicky.

  75. Arse&Nose©

    wardo don’t do it !!
don’t lower your expectations to believe o’shea would be positive
I know as supporters we get battered, disillusioned and desperate but we can not let our standards drop o’shea is not the answer.

  76. Geoff

I think it’s funny that City think they have got the best left back in the world, fuck, most of us wanted Clichy to go!

Nasri on the other hand would be a big blow to the team and to our ambitions.

  77. dennisdamenace

Geoff – Myself, my brother, and almost a dozen more of our ‘gang’ didn’t renew, feels like an end of an era……

  78. dennisdamenace

O’Shea was always a bit part player, albeit a useful one, but a bit part player nonetheless at ManUre. WTF makes anyone think he’s a progressive signing for us?

I have one word here…………. AMBITION

  79. dennisdamenace

Geoff – Either of those two going will be a blow, and a blow for one reason only…….Wenger!

He’ll see it as an opportunity to fill the void “from within”, thereby save on signings, save on wages………job done!

  80. dennisdamenace

This fucking board and manager really have a way of sucking the very enjoyment out of being a supporter…..

  81. Geoff

Dennis I just wish he would go, I really have had enough of him, his policies, and his smirking like he knows more than the rest of us.

Fergie just gets who he needs and to be honest any of his signings would have done us.

    I feel sick.

  82. wardo

    A&N,

how are you today mate ?? Well I hope…..

About O’Shea, don’t think i was clear…….My expectation is much higher than signing a Manure Cast off.

My ambition for Arsenal is to pip manure to a top quality signing…

What i meant by my statement is as follows

    1) you can not compare him to Silvestre. O’Shea, sadly, would imrpove us……… what i mean is that Silvestre was a shocking signing. O’Shea would not be anywhere near as bad as that !! And the bit about him improving us (Sadly) shows how i view what we already have….so, he would be an improvement which means we must buy players this summer as if O’Shea is an improvment then surely that qualifies the fact that we are in need of signgins in the defence dept…….i did ssay that i want the improvments to be via cahill, samba and baines. No O’shea……

Anyway, its all irrelevant anyway. O’shea cant play regular footie in London……..the pasty w4nker would get sun burnt…

  83. Goonerman

The question is why won’t Arsenal pay Nasri Cesc’s wages? Surely, he would have accepted that!

  84. ArsenalKenya

I WILL QUIT SUPPORTING ARSENAL AND CONCENTRATE ON WATCHING TENNIS IF WENGER SELLS ALL THESE STARS?
    WHAT IS ARSENE UP TO?
DOES HE HAVE ANY AMBITION OR IS IT JUST TO ENJOY BONUSES AND PROFITS. IM NOT EVEN THINKING OF BUYING THE NEW KITS UNLESS HE BUYS PLAYERS… I WOULD RATHER SUPPORT OTHER AMBITIOUS TEAMS. THE BOARD SHOULD PACK UP AND USMANOV SHOULD BE GIVEN A CHANCE ON THE BOARD….7 YEARS AGAIN WITHOUT A TROPHY…ARSENE SHOULD BE KICKED OUT IMMEDIATELY! PROFESSOR OF ECONOMICS…NO TROPHIES

  85. Wenger the liar

No, Wenger betrayed the brilliance of Cesc by forcing him to do the annual penance of playing alongside the likes of Denilson, Diaby, Bendtner and Eboue, players not fit to suit up in his company.

He deserved much much better and could have had it so easily, but for Wenger’s delusional stubborness.Wouldn’t you just love to be a fly on the wall when they conduct their parting conversation?

    ========

    ANR.

    Headline of the Metro -

    Gervinho gives Arsenal lift.

    LOL, yeah right.

    Arsenes a 24 carat cunt.

  86. Arse&Nose©

yes let’s forget about o’shea its disturbing!

let’s get back to talking about selling players

hot news just in on RVP saying the following:

“I want to win trophies and if I don’t think i can, I won’t sign (new contract) – this summer will decide (if i stay next year)”
