Is Cesc right for the Premiership?

by & filed under Uncategorized.

It’s deja news again today. Cesc and Nasri are reportedly leaving for pastures new, Gervinho is flying in to sign with us and Gary Cahill is close.

Wow, you couldn’t have cut and paste that last sentence from at least 3 posts in the last two weeks.

Anyway, this morning, I’m covering Cesc. This post is all about you and your opinion. Things seem to get very spiky in the summer, everyone gets upset whichever angle you take with whichever story, so I’m going to lay out the key issues with Cesc and you can make up your own mind in the comments about whether keeping him is best for the club, the team or for your own sanity.

Cesc unhappy

First things first, don’t kid yourself that Cesc has been happy at the club for the last season. Don’t think that he walked into the manager’s office last year, demanded a move to Barcelona, got told no… then left the building over the moon that he was staying in the capital for another year. I’m sorry, that is a ridiculous, naive assertion.

He was told no, he was obviously promised some sort of action in the transfer market, and guess what. It didn’t happen. Our season fell apart like many predicted and this year, he wants to leave again, but I’d imagine he’s not in such a persuasive mood this year.

Cesc was not himself last season. If you couldn’t see that in his body language, then there’s a chance you’re not that good at reading people. I spoke to people last year who said he was particularly spikey around the training ground at times and obviously, those niggly injuries kept on occurring all year. He even sacked his long term girlfriend. Anyone who has had an unhappy period in the office will know these things have a tendency to affect other aspects of your life.

When people are unhappy in a job in the real world, they get sick. I don’t see why the same shouldn’t be true of working in sport. Look at the last seasons of Thierry Henry and Adebayor. They were hardly about. Look at Cesc last season.

Having an unhappy captain in the ranks can only be a bad thing in my opinion. If your mind isn’t 100% on the job in hand, you’re not worth your salary. This is sport people. You need to do more than just walk out and play 90 minutes. You need to be in the game 110%. You need to be fully focused. Look what happened to Wayne Rooney when his head was in a Manchester City shirt? He went totally off the rails. Fergie dropped him accordingly and he came back a changed player. Arsene Wenger will never have that luxury with Cesc.

Do you think having an unhappy Captain is going to help us topple the big 4 next season?

Cesc – Ronaldo comparison

Now, there is a lot of talk that Arsenal are going to have to sell Cesc to Barcelona for the reduced price of £34million. This is all over the British media and we’re taking it as gospel. Now, think about this logically. Why would we have to sell a player who is contracted to the club for 4 years, for a price that is a million pounds lower than the fee Newcastle took for Andy Carroll?

You could say…

1) Cesc wants to go to one club and one club only.

2) Barcelona won’t pay any more than that fee.

Ok, case and point here. Christiano Ronaldo wanted to go to Real Madrid for at least 3 of the last seasons he was at United. There was only one club in his heart. His mother would tell everyone that, his brother would and I specifically remember Christiano saying that. He signed a 5 year deal with United in his last season at United. He struck a gentlemen’s agreement with Fergie that he’d leave. The summer came and United took £80million for their star man.

What is the difference with Cesc?

He wants to go to one club. That one club should be told that his transfer fee is £54million, like they were last summer. If that valuation isn’t met, then we should tell them where to go.

Madrid are ready and waiting with £50million as are Manchester City.

We are under no pressure whatsoever to sell him on. In fact, by selling him for £34million, we’re losing out on £20million. That is literally the remainder if his 4 year deal. For me, it’s more cost effective to force him to see out the remaining 4 years. See how sulky he is when he’s sitting on the bench.

How can Arsenal football club possibly think that selling the best young creative midfielder in the world for less that Barca are bidding for the unproven Neymar makes any business sense?

I’d actually be disgusted if we went down this route. It would be an absolute failure of leadership if Gazidis budged on this one and it would set the tone of Arsenal’s ambition for the next ten years. We’d be a selling club in the eyes of our own over stretched fans and pretty much every club in Europe. What would that teach the players? That a contract was only there to protect one party?

That’s why I can’t see this deal happening, unless of course, there are some serious player swap deals in the offing.

Arsenal better off

The other question I want to raise that I mentioned on twitter yesterday is whether Arsenal are better off without Cesc in this side?

Is Cesc Fabregas suited to the Premiership?

Now, this is a very tricky question to answer because whichever way you answer it, you’re upsetting someone.

1) If Cesc is suited to the Premiership, Wenger has failed.

2) If he’s not, then he should go and we should have a rethink.

Now, this question is being asked because whichever way you look at it, Cesc Fabregas and the brand of football he comes with has not proved a success over here. Yes, he’s landed more assists than anyone in Europe over the last few years, but face up to facts, when it comes down to the crunch, the teams he’s played in aren’t winning things.

Our short passing methods and our new formation can’t cut it up at Stoke City. This season in particular, we’ve look laboured and predictable in the final third. Teams over here don’t let you play football like they do in Spain. They’ve worked out that if you defend with two deep defensive lines, we’re not intelligent enough to play through. They’ve also learnt that if you press Arsenal, we tend to fall to bits.

People will say that we were close this year, but in reality, we were nowhere near in the end. Our collapse was incredible in just how awful it was.

So, it begs the question, can a team that is built round Cesc ever win a Premiership?

My case and point here would be Ian Wright. He was the clubs all time record scorer for quite a bit, he was championed for his calmness in front of goal and his pace over the top. However, once he joined Arsenal, we lost our edge. Our midfielders started scoring less as everything was channelled through him. It took two more managers to bring a league title into Ian Wright’s hands and that was at the expense of his place in the first team. Wenger instead opting for the more dynamic Anelka.

Looking good in a team that is built around your strengths is still hard, but perhaps this system is causing us a problem, perhaps an over dependence on one man leaves us struggling when he’s injured? Perhaps Cesc is our plan A and without him, the system can’t work?

The way Arsenal win trophies normally is with two power houses in the middle of the park. We have light on their feet wide men who can cut in and shoot and generally, with most teams, there has always been a number of players chipping in with the goals and assists. Bobby, Freddy and Thierry spring to mind.

Maybe if we reverted to that style of play, dropped Samir into the middle, who is powerful, fast and more direct. We might be onto something? Maybe losing the best player in the Premiership and rethinking our system could be just the tonic we need to kick on next season?

Could selling Cesc be a blessing in disguise? Or am I searching for a silver lining that isn’t there?

Well, I certainly wouldn’t want to answer any of those questions. It’s down to you to have your say. You’re the boss today, except you don’t earn £7million a year!

Palermo receive 50m bid for Pastore. Spanish or English club. My money is on City, since they just pulled out of Sanchez race

  2. Evan

    Schweinsteiger is the only option.

Don’t know much about Mata, whatever happened to Gourcoff no one is being linked to him

Cesc’s comments feel like a big FUCK YOU.. Someone asked earlier “do you think we will win the league” Lose Cesc and Nasri , replace them with Gervinho and some other mug then we are heading for channel 5

  3. Pat

The Serie A outfit have publicly valued Sanchez at upwards of €40 million but, while Barca are willing to meet that sum, the Catalans are believed to have only tabled a bid of of €27 million up front, with a series of potential add-ons included to take the fee up to Udinese’s valuation.

“We are waiting for a response from Udinese,” a Barca spokesperson told Spanish news agency EFE. “Barcelona made a definitive offer for the player and we will not change the parameters indicated.”
    ———————

So who the fuck are Barca after? Apparently they only have 40 million, no?

  4. SUGA3

    Pat,

that’s nonsense, no ‘athlete’ can withstand this kind of punishment, why do you think his hammies started going?

he is no Rooney physique wise, entirely different kind of animal…

    Dale,

you better not miss the moment when it starts bubbling, you don’t want all that merch go to waste

  5. jack

If cesc wants to leave, let him fucking leave. He was half hearted last season and was injured most of the time. I dont fucking blame him for wanting to leave anyway. Didnt Arsene promise him big signings and trophies. All the fans cursing cesc give me 1 GENUINE reason why cesc and nasri for that matter, should stay. if its a winning team they want to play for, they are not going to stay with this bunch of bottlers and losers. Get fucking real.

  6. Ricky

Cesc – “If a player is on the market it is because the club does not want him. I have no problems.”
    ============

By the sounds of that comment arsenal are the ones trying to sell cesc to barca instead of the other way around.

  7. DaleDaGooner

I could give 2 fucks about Manure spending 50m thus far on 3 players, non of these players signed scare me…….De Gea?? Ashley Young?? Phil Jones?? c’mon guys If we signed these, you’d all say they aren’t what we need,

On Cesc talk, the less i speak the better, This guy is really getting on my nerves, FFS They are offering shit in exchange for him and he expects us to accept that bag of rice money?

Nasri is also another fucker i want replaced, sign the damn thing already! He hasn’t done anything to earn 120k a week and he is one of the bottlers that lost it for us, he can stay work harder to win something or they should sell him, where are these talks of Manure buying him coming from??

  8. Pat

United fans claiming Nasri signing might be announced tomorrow. 23.2 million. Also, Wenger considering walking out since he was against this.

Honestly, I don’t believe it. But the United fans are all over it so we’ll see.

  9. Wenger the liar

    Pharo

What is the definition of a shit buy?

Will his contribution be more or less than Ashley Young, that could be a way to look at it.

Will he at the end of the season be considered to be a first team player, i.e. one of the first eleven you would start in a big game

Me personally when I am considering what the question is, the only question that actually matters is what players do we need to buy in order for us to win the league next year – the answer to this question in my mind is definately not Gervinho, therefore to me he is a shit buy.

If we were not desperate for players in other positions and we actually needed a winger and this signing came off the back of a higher calibre one I am would be far more enthused about Gervinho, as it stands it Meh city for me.

  10. BillikenGooner

nah, if it is true, it sounds more like Cesc is just finding justification from Arsenal’s willingness to make a deal.

“Ignore my flirtation with returning home for the last 2 years. How dare Arsenal admit they actually would sell me for the right price? I’ve been insulted! Now I must be sold to them for their bargain basement offer.”

  11. Pat

SUGA, you’re clueless. World class players are never rested. I named a lot more than Rooney and there are plenty more.

Messi covers more ground than most people and he never gets rested.

And again, he wanted to play. Wenger didn’t force him to.

  12. Keyser

“Me personally when I am considering what the question is, the only question that actually matters is what players do we need to buy in order for us to win the league next year – the answer to this question in my mind is definately not Gervinho, therefore to me he is a shit buy.”

Is that a realistic way of looking at it ?!

  13. Wenger the liar

    Keyser -

    In a word?

Or are you of the opinion that OGL has let standards slip so far that winning the league next year is out of reach regardless of who we purchase?

  14. Keyser

It’s not that we’ve run him into the ground, Fabregas is young and very talented, but we pay him a very handsome sum of money for his services.

He’s not the best of athletes as it is, but unless he’s already a crock this summer is key, for the first time in 3 consecutive years of him playing a very arduous Premiership season he won’t be going off to play for Spain in the World Cup, the Euro’s or the Confederations Cup.

Ironically, it’s also the year we’ve decided to go on a pre-season tour to the far-east.

  15. SUGA3

    Pat,

that is absolute bull, you can’t possibly discount the factors like the way a player is built, stuff like bone and muscle structure, etc.

there are too many variables you are trying to discount here!

as for Messi, a season in La Liga for him is a walk in the park compared to what a season in the Prem is to an Arsenal player like Cesc…

clueless? me? when did you become a physio? do one!

  16. Wenger the liar

    Keyser -

Another example – oxalaide copper tea pot.

Is this a signing that is going to help us win the league next year?

As opposed to signing a CB who would be considered to be a first choice starter in the team.

  17. Keyser

WTL – Let standards slip ? Mate, we’re not up against efficiently run Clubs that are playing around with the sort of money we have.

Bar maybe United, who are investing in potential now rather than proven talent anyway.

Simple fact is we’re going to have to be far more clever in the way we spend what money we have than our compeitiors have or will need to be.

If Gervinho’s a shit buy, what sort of players would you want ?!

  18. Ricky

This is how it sounds to me after that comment.

    Barca- Wanna sell cesc?

    Arsenal- No!

    A year later…

Arsenal- Ey barca, still wanna buy cesc?

    Barca- how much?

    Arsenal- errrmm, not much, 54m?

Barca- What!! I’ll give you 27m.

Arsenal- 54m is the going rate, you know that.

Barca- but cesc is not a priority for us s if you wanna sell then all we got is 27m

    Arsenal- How about 40?

    Barca- 35 & we’ll call it a day.

  19. Wenger the liar

    Keyser -

Its all well and good talking about financial doping and being clever, to me spending £12m on a player who, by even those that support the signing, is seen as nothing more than a Bendy replacement.

As I said there are far more pressing needs faced by the team than a winger, a substitute one at that.

  20. Keyser

WTL – It depends on who the centre-back is, who says he’s a Bendtner replacement ? Also don’t agree with the far more pressing needs thing, we struggled at both ends last year, and with Fabregas out in the middle aswell.

  21. Wenger the liar

    Keyser -

Fuck me have you turned into Wenger you cunt! Google the words Bendy replacement and youll see a picture of a forehead, its been said a zillion times, not by me but by those that like Gervinho.

    In terms of pressing needs:

A DM for me is No.1 priority as I feel this will help us regardless of who is playing CBs

A CB is then my second priority.

    A GK is my third

    A LB if Clichy leaves

    A AM if Cesc leaves

A ST for the half of the season RVP will miss.

You see thats how low I place the need for a winger.

  22. Pat

When did I become a physio? Physios don’t go to proper medical school. Give me a break. Its a well known fact physios in England are shit.

Football clubs don’t look in depth at muscle fibers and bone structure you fool. Cesc’s hamstring problems are recent and are most probably due to failure to recover properly. Which in part is the players fault since he wanted to play.

No one at Arsenal has a fucking clue about hamstrings since Gary Lewin left.

  23. Wenger the liar

    Keyser -

I got to go have a shower etc ectc my missus is going to kill me in a minute, if youre around tomorrow we will continue this. I would like to get your point of view.

  24. Ricky

Wengers not walking out. thats bollox!!

If wenger did walk out for not wanting to sell then you would really have to question the board.

  25. choy

Forgot about Clichy.. whats up with him.. Is he leaving or what?

No way in hell arsene will leave his multi million dollar job!

  26. Keyser

    Also the Cesc comments.

Interviewer – Any thoughts on your future ?!

Cesc – “I’m calm and I am optimistic. I have nothing to say and there is nothing to speak of.

“If something happens, it is because it has to happen. For my part, I’ve begun to get in shape, which is what I have to do.

Interviewer – What about rumours that Arsenal are willing to sell you ?!

Cesc – “If a player is on the market it is because the club does not want him. I have no problems.”

Those anyone else buy this post?????

  28. SUGA3

‘physio’ was just a figure of speech, and quit with these insults, will ya?

Football clubs don’t look in depth at muscle fibres? really?

understanding the way a human body is built and the differences between the particular players to accommodate for them by the way of allocating various training regimes and workload is the best way to prevent fatigue and injuries, ffs!

I have been there with you before, now bore off…

  29. Keyser

WTL – “Fuck me have you turned into Wenger you cunt!”

No, you dickhead, just trying to be realistic.

Don’t really care what’s on your priority list because I don’t agree with you’re saying to begin with.

Cool mate, don’t forget to wash out your bellybutton.

    Much clearer.

  31. Keyser

Suga3 – For what it’s worth a trainer I know was telling me football’s quite a bit behind other sports in injury rehabilitation and physiotherapy.

  32. Wenger the liar

    Keyser -

    LOL

Knew you would make me laugh.

If youre here tomorrow you can tell me why my priority list is wrong, or why having one is, or where you disagree, or why Arsenes such a great manager.

    Night.

  33. SUGA3

    Keyser,

that’s not really the point here: my opinion was that Cesc got run into the ground due to playing way too many games of too high intensity for a player of his kind…

different people have different body structure, move differently, and have different areas that are susceptible to injuries, simples…

comparing Rooney or Messi to Cesc is complete nonsense, they vary so much it’s almost another species IMO…

  34. DaleDaGooner

Thanks SUGA, how did i do that, but you sure love getting high on your the stuff you post on here

  35. Keyser

Suga3 – Yeah, but you can’t just place the blame on the club that actually pays him his yearly wage when he’s been run into the ground playing for his country probably even more so.

Look at last year he broke his leg playing for us and then Spain rushed him back from the injury, made sure he got fit for the off-season and then barely played him anyway.

3 consecutive years now he’s barely had a rest, the Euro’s, the World Cup fine, but the Confederations Cup ?!

Look at Wilshere, if we hadn’t slapped him about and said you’re ‘running on empty you numpty’ Perarce would have fucked him around like they did with Walcott.

First rushing him into the first team and then deciding he should go to the Under-21′s again.

  36. Pat

SUGA, we haven’t been there before. I can tell you for a fact that clubs do not look at muscle fibers in depth. Proper analysis requires the removal of a ‘chunk’ of your muscle (quite painful and leaves a mark) and finding the percentages of fast twitch and slow twitch muscle fibers and a whole bunch of other factors that would take too long to write about.

Why do you think Russians were/are good at Olympics. At a young age, kids were separated by their muscle fiber types to the sporting discipline that best suited them.

No football club does these type of procedure, even with the modern technology that doesn’t necessarily require the removal of muscle tissue.

This is what specialist do, when a player has a significant problem or a long term injury. Football clubs do not employ these type of people.

Fabregas run into the ground. Give me a fucking break.

  37. Keyser

WTL – It’s pretty simple, you’ve got 6 points on your priority list for almost every part of the pitch, yet all of a sudden a Winger shouldn’t even be considered.

  38. Pat

    SUGA, there you go again.

“comparing Rooney or Messi to Cesc is complete nonsense, they vary so much it’s almost another species IMO…”

Proving you know fuck all by judging based on appearance.

The simple fact of the matter is, if a world class player is not injured, he is not rested. The player has the final say whether he feels okay to play or not.

You have an anti-Wenger obsession whilst you clearly know nothing about kinesiology.

  39. Pat

At least we agree about Klitschko, SUGA.

Same goes for Adamek though. In terms of technique he matches Vitali but he’s just too big and has a much longer reach. In addition to that, he’s actually athletic unlike the other heavyweights Adamek has fought.

  40. Ricky

Klitschko & haye have both been made to look good against c level fighters. Neither of them have been tested against any top level guys.

Wladimir’s been knocked out on a couple occasions so we know he’s chins not up to it. Wether haye can get to it too is another story.

Will be a test for both fighters.

  41. Man

Wlad is good but lacks the speed, mobility or agility Haye has. It’ll be a good fight but I’ll go for Haye. I don’t think there has been a decent heavyweight fight for a long long time…since pre-jailed Tyson maybe?

  42. Ricky

I agree man. If haye can use he’s speed & agility to get past wlads jab then he stands a chance of landing a clean hard shot & we’ve seen whats happend in the past when that chins been touched & haye throws harder & faster then any of the other fighters thats floored wlad.

Definetly the biggest HW fight since lewis v vitali.

  43. Man

Whatever happens Ricky I’ll certainly be watching this one. I see Mayweather will be fighting Ortiz. That should be another good fight. The fight to end all fights will be Pacman vs Mayweather…Mayweather seems to be running scared though. How much money does he want FFS?

  44. SUGA3

    Pat,

it’s not anti Wenger obsession, there is a bit of history of injuries caused by fatigue in the last few seasons, wouldn’t you say?

and no, it’s not judged by appearance alone, although it’s an indicator, i.e. a short arse is a completely different animal from a lanky player, as I have said, the moves, the forces and the weak points differ significantly…

but let’s agree to disagree, shall we?

moving on: Adamek is quite a beast but yeah, his biggest problem is his reach, if he was just a couple of inches taller, he’d be a fearsome fighter (not that he is not already, but it’s hard work for him)…

  45. Pat

Adamek has a very strong jaw but since he is so light, his punches aren’t powerful enough and he’d have to beat Vitali in 12 rounds.

Pacman and Mayweather are both a joke. Only reason they’re making headlines is because the heavyweight division lost most of its stars. Personally, I think Mayweather would wipe the floor with Pacman. Pacquiao relies too much on speed and Mayweather can match that. In addition, his technique is superior to Pacman’s.

Pacquiao hasn’t been fighting anyone of note since he became #1(only b/c Mayweather took a break). He gets praise for fighting very slow, hungerless, has-beens.

  46. Pat

According to some radio station, Sanchez and Cesc will be announced on Friday. We’re getting robbed if its true. I suspect Udinese fans aren’t the happiest bunch either. 27 million euros is nothing for Sanchez.

I’d say 50 million pounds for Cesc. 40 million euros for Sanchez.

  47. Ricky

I hope so man, hw boxing has been dying for a long time now & this fight definetly brings some life into it.

Mayweather v Ortiz is another fight i look forward to. Floyds fighting a live opponent in ortiz & even he’s been out the ring for sometime wether you like him or not he always come prepared.

I expect floyd to put on another show of pure boxing genious in that fight & be too skilled for ortiz.

I agree the pacman fight is the one we all wanna see but i would’nt put all the blame on floyd here. I think it works both ways.. Floyds been out the ring a long time but is back fighting a young & hungry fighter were as pacquaio has been busy beating fighters passed there sell by date since the cotto fight.

Both floyd & pac are amazing fighters with complete different styles.

  48. Dutchman

Guys, this is till now a BIG shit summer. Cesc will leave for Barcelona and Nasri will leave for United. How the fuck could this happen? We are in big trouble at the moment. John Cross was AGAIN right about arsenal. Those two will leave. Nasri had till end june to sign a new contract it hasn’t happen and he will be sold to United. But with those two leaving, the stories of Chamberlain,Alvarez,Mata and Gervinho joining us are very likely.
We will have loads of money after the sales of those two players and the club knows that the fans are knocking on the door, so this time wenger is under big pressure to spend, because everybody knows that we will have 50m to spend from the sales of fabregas and Nasri +our transfer budget. So expect many players come in.
Because players like squillaci, denilson and bendtner are not in Wengers plans anymore. So… A big,big summer for Arsenal …….
    ………

  49. MARK GOONER

so in 48 hours and after a bad season we have sold our best player and captain and signed cark jenkinson

yeah i know we will sign more, but the window has been open a month now and we have been penny pinching and havent shown an ounce of ambition

    fucking pathetic

u watch wenger throw money at nasri now to make him stay and give him some undeserved huge contract, and then dress it up and tell us all how nasri is the future

    bollocks

  50. Dutchman

You know what i want, i want players with heart and passion for Arsenal. Players who give everything in a match. Fabregas and Nasri are not that players.
Nasri is easy to replace and Fabregas his head was never at Arsenal. Why was he captain??!! I want players who give a fuck! If those two players don’t want to be here ,then fuck off.

  51. Dutchman

What has Nasri done , that he thinks by himself that he is the best in the world? Scoring 15 goals this season, yes. But one assist!!! That’s utter shit for a winger. Shut the fuck off then! If you think you are the best, show some respect Nasri!

  52. Daniel

Pat, regarding Pacman/Mayweather, Pacman beat the shit out of Cotto which, in my opinion, is a lot more impressive than anything Mayweather has done recently. Also, Klitschko is going to make Haye look really bad.

  53. paul mc daid

Cese should be put on the block, what does it matter to us who he plays for?milan, madrid, barca, who cares, even if he went to say man city he would not last a year in the premier with all the media, fan taunting, fellow player abuse etc etc, but that would be his problem, not ours, sell him to the highest bidder, end off,we are not a charity, just ask any season ticket holder.

This old geezer Peter Hill-wood is apparently 75 years old. What sort of fresh dynamics could he possibly add to The Arsenal Board.

I would think that some fresh blood may be a best fit for Arsenal going forward, not some miserable penny pinching  I mean Euro cent pinching old fella like him.

    Peter Hill-wood, get out & give a young bloke a go :)

    zeus,

do your homework, every AKB worth his salt will tell you that it all started in 1886, what there was no Arsene or the Emirates?

let’s not allow the facts get in the way of a good story

“All the clubs are on stand-by to add to their team. Everyone are waiting to see what will be opponent next’s choice will be. It’s like a poker game, where every player tries to keep the best card in his hand. All the business will get going around the end of July or beginning of August, when each manager will try to adjust the squad.

This was wenger on French radio last night….so much for July 1st.

    Matt Law
Tennis meant this didn’t make the paper: Arsenal were last night trying to haggle Barca up closer to the 40mill mark for Cesc. Talks ongoing

  58. dennisdamenace

Rioch signed Bergkamp and Platt, all in the space of about a week, if memory serves me correctly……

  59. dennisdamenace

If there is any truth in that Tweet by Matt Law, then it would be that Arsenal are now willing to sell Fabregas. If so, then fuck where he wants to go, transfer list him, listen to offers ffs, the very least it’ll do is push the price up if Citeh and RM both come in with better offers!

  60. dennisdamenace

Just what exactly does PHW now do for the club, apart from embarrass the Arsenal name, bad mouth supporters, and get into games for free?

I find it absolutely amazing that any multi-billionaire businessman who has just (almost) taken control of a new venture sits back, says fuck all about his plans, vision for the future, direction of the enterprise etc, but some senile 75 year old fuckwit can mouth off about everything and anything to do with said venture.

I don’t know who is the bigger cunt out of the two of them….

  61. Larry kamvy

Wenger really is a twatty cunt ain’t he?all the clubs are waiting?……………..FUCK off you greedy french pincher1 hi guys

    WTF?

What a useless arsehole, he wouldn’t last ten minutes in IT management with that fucking pathetic attitude.

Whatever happen to pro-active management? Ferguson’s been out there, done his business, now he can concentrate on pre-season. Our mug manager sits on his well paid arse and waits, waits for what, August 31st again, so that he can miss out on Alonso MkII?

Oh silly me, maybe the Great One has done his business after all, i’d almost forgotten about Carl fucking Jenkinson…..

  63. Moray

DDM, good point. Does Kroenke really see Arsenal as a great investment for the future? Does he see football as a sustainable market? I don’t, so I’m not sure what he hopes to gain.

either way, he should give some comment in respect for the fans who have brought the team to where it is now.

  64. Wenger the liar

    DDM -

Maybe Kroenke thinks that by leaving PHW as the mouthpiece he will take the flack when we sell our good players this summer. You couldnt really have wished for a better person to pick than PHW who iis always putting his foot in his mouth.

If we do lose Nasri and Cesc, which so far is of course just speculation, SK is coming out of this smelling like shit regardless of whatever stupid comments PHW makes.

  65. dennisdamenace

Guys, we’ve got TWO multi-billionaires at the club, yet the fucking Yank’s fist job was to sanction a 6.5% price increase, says it all really.

Investment in the club v profit margins

If i were Jabba i’d hit that 30% mark, offer £14,500 – £15,000 for EVERY share, the Yank might then take a hefty (very) short term profit from his initial outlay.

Otherwise, fuck me, it’ll be three more years of this bullshit.

  66. scott

Wtl agree that is a good article, although if the player no longer wants to be at the club the best thing to do is get the top price for him. Otherwise it will spread bad feelings throughout the dressing room.

  67. Moray

    thanks Geoff.

WTL, yes, it’s a good article. It’s easy to think we owe Cesc to let him go, but it’s important to remember Barca are the best team in the world, possibly their generation. They don’t even fucking need him. And the fact they are trying to bully us into selling our marquee player is disgusting. He is worth at least as much as Ibra, who is a cunt. It is up to them to make us an offer we can’t refuse. Cesc is coming into the prime of his playing career, he’s a little injury-prone, but he will also sell a lot of Barca shirts…

The only possible reason we would have to back down is his atitude and the possibility of him buying out his contract. I can’t see either of these being a problem.

  68. angeausarsenal

Bottom line is we dont have to sell him if the fee does not match his value which should be 50 million plus and if we are going to sell then we should sell to whoever meets that price

  69. dennisdamenace

Whatever happens, it should ALWAYS be in the best interest of Arsenal Football Club, and NOT Fabregas, and certainly NOT Barcafuckinglona…….
