What you might not know about me is that I’m a bit of a salesman. I used to work in a sports shop, I was the regional champion selling shoe protector. I was pretty much solely responsible for extending the life of thousands of Reebok Classics in the early 2000′s. That in mind, I thought I’d take it upon myself to help Ivan and the good people of Arsenal football club out.
I’m going to help Arsenal sell their players… one by one.
First up is Denilson. Now, I can’t believe that a player Arsene Wenger talked up so massively can’t be shifted. We have marketing superstars from all over the globe working for the club on huge salaries and apparently, none of them know how to sell.
What’s happened guys? Where’s your creativity? I’ll tell you where it’s gone, it’s gone right up your backsides. You’ve been out selling top of the range trainers to Americans for a large chunk of your careers, now it comes to selling something slightly less glam, you can’t be bothered to get on the phone. You need to take a look at what Sunderland are doing, ask them how they packaged Jordan Henderson, because whatever creative they used, it landed them a massive ROI.
Anyway, to get the ball rolling, I’ve put Denilson up on eBay, I’ve started the bids low, but I’m confident we can bring in well over £300 for the man with stats sexier than a Hugh Heffner pool party (that he’s had to call in sick for). I’d like to ask that you all join me in spreading the word… lets alert all the official twitter feeds of the biggest and smallest clubs of Europe to his availability and please to stress that there is no reserve on this player!
Bargains are out there to be had this year… and if the club can’t do the selling, well jeez, we as fans must club together and do the selling for them!

The Captain…
So more news emanating from Spain that Barcelona want to sign Cesc and are preparing a £31million bid. Sorry Barca, that’s not the price. Please don’t plead poverty either, we’ve just watched you sign Alexis Sanchez off the back of an amazing season for nearly £40million. If you want to sign Cesc, pay us the money or stop messing around. There is no point in keep coming back with derisory offers, or trying to Ocean finance a deal over 16 years, we want the cash upfront or don’t bother.
If Cesc is forced to stay this summer, then removing the Captaincy from him is a must for me.
1) Because he’s not committed to the cause
2) Because he complained about it being a burden on his game
3) Because he’s not a good captain
That said, who would be the best bet to takeover from him?
1) Robin Van Persie:
Pros
The squad appointed leader in the dressing room. Has a deep passion for Arsenal, works tirelessly on the pitch and is an inspirational talent when he’s playing well.
Cons
His injury record his shabbier than one of those cats Rolf Harris finds in a cardboard box just after Christmas. How can you appoint a leader who has more sick leave than Amy Winehouse? It’s totally impractical. Also, tell me how many top strikers around Europe ever make good captains? It just doesn’t sit right for me…
2) Tommy V
Pros
The guy is an absolute beast on the pitch, he’ll throw himself 110% into the coin toss. He’s said that he likes the responsibility of leading and I believe he’s the leader of his country and the key admin of an offshoot hacker group. He’s also a little scary and he’d set a great standard.
Cons
Well, he did just take a year of sick leave. People are obviously going to question his long-term fitness. I can tell you that I’ve been told on great Pam authority that he’s not going to suffer any long-term problems, but that might not be good enough for many of you out there.
3) Samir Nasri
Pros
Well, he’s thinking about leaving. When you’ve offered him money, you need to offer him an emotional tie as well. Extensive tests have proved that handing the armband over to a wantaway player can extend their careers by about 3 seasons.
Cons
He’s not captain material, he’d be a terrible choice.
Marquee signing…
The other interesting news this morning is that we’re tracking Mata. That was the big player I’d heard last week we were looking at. I couldn’t tell you because I’m a trustworthy blogger. He’s the player I said I think might be our marquee signing should Samir leave. We’ve definitely been looking at him at the Under 21 Championships, no doubt Grimandi has been scoruing YouTube like a lunatic, so the interest is concrete from our side.
http://youtu.be/VZNzceARzGs
You’d have to say, if we bombed off Ashley Young for that little magician, you wouldn’t be too sad. That said, you always run the risk of two things…
1) You have another Reyes on your hands (Though looking back at his stats, they were incredible).
2) When he hits the highs in about 3 years time, Barca and Madrid come knocking, because as you know, if you have a Spanish passport, technically you are already part owned by those two.
Anyway, it seems there are many clubs in for him, but at least you know we’re sniffing around some of the best talent. The reason I think he’ll only be coming our way is Samir goes is because I just can’t see Wenger putting his hand in the club pocket to the tune of £20million unless it’s to appease the fans and the squad because of a major departure. It’s a shame that historically, a big signing is usually a reaction to a sale…
It does beg the question though, why are we going after so many wide men when our biggest problem is at the back?
So… in the Purchase Pipeline
- Samba – Desire from the player, not from our bid
- Gervinho – Desire from the player, no bid apparently
- Alvarez – Hotter than tabasco in the eye
- Mata – Just broken
- Cahill – Quiet

If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys? even the monkey’s like Odemwingie are rejecting the peanuts”
This is a common saying you fucking prick. I use it all the time in relation to our shit signings.
The funny thing is you think I am white dont you you fucking dickhead LOL
I was alluding to anyone calling ME anything, I dont like people accusing the fans of being racist. I also dont like people like you wrongly assuming I want someone to fail because I say their signing is nothing to get excited about.
Dale,
the ‘level’ of your posting would suggest that you are just an unemployed, ahem, African American, with plenty of time to watch the ACN on the nicked TV during these long nights at your crack den
I am not arguing with you, there is a need for two valid POVs to hold an argument, you are just wheeling out the same old bollocks about our ‘hate’ for a player because he is black,,,
yawn…
Fuck Off Pedro!
DDM, fair shout…
tiarnan,
you will love this:
no wonder he is ‘ronery’
Pedro, load sof people argue with the SAME folks, maybe we can direct that at SUGA?
frenchie, i’m not defensive, just said, don’t worry bout it.
WTL, i don’t care whether you are black, white or brown, i only pointed out what you statement sounds like, you can answer with a bit of class, or we can call each other names on a website, …problem is, you have no clue, you suggesting that my being 8000 miles away makes you a better fan or that you pay 80 quid every game and i watch iraqigoal, makes you a bigot..end of, and that’s my opinion, you’re a negative person and i’ll jump at you if you question other people’s opinion and think yours is king.
SUGA, again, i’ve said time and again, i don’t get why i bother arguing with you..I’ll take your first paragraph and chuck it as wind up, joke, banter
You are an expert at drawing out shit for arguments
At what point did i state that anyone hated Gervinho cause he was black? I read that all morning on Le Grove and never commented about those you were arguing that
I think alot of you have a problem, a guilty conscience…..i’m hoping we are not really talking about African players or French Balck players, cause that talk is so old and boring
Again, I don’t think anyone here “Hates” a player cause they are Black, I hope so.
But i bid adieu, it’s always a pleasure
So, how are you, you suspect bouffant wearer you?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNi-BB-j0u0
Is it coz i is shit?
Dale,
first of all, no one likes waving imaginary cards…
and since you’re asking: because I am white
SUGA, didn’t they tell you? I’m Spanish! we do that, we fall, roll and wave cards!
Dale dont go you cunt!
AKB, Doomers alike I am proud of the fact that my club, as a reflection of the people in my city, were embracing black players long before other teams were. I grew up watching players get banans thrown at them.
Theres a story about John Barnes coming back in the plane from scoring that goal in Brazil that sums this up but I cant be arsed and quite frankly youre not worth it.
Make all the excuses under the sun for poor performances etc, whatever I dont give a fuck. Dont be critical of the fans over this issue because its fucking bollocks.
I didnt say you said this, you came out defending the point, go over our convo. Then you accuse me of wanting players to fail and I brought up Iraqi goals. Dont act tlike its the other way around, its here for you to reread.
Dale stay, lets talk about my racial prejudice and how we can resolve them
Fucks sake moderation!

No offer yet for Gervinho – Seydoux
Arsenal have yet to make a formal offer for Ivory Coast forward Gervinho, according to Lille president Michel Seydoux.
The 24-year-old has made no secret the Gunners would be his preferred destination were the French club ready to sell. However, while Arsene Wenger is said to be keen to bolster his squad, suggestions a £10million deal is about to be completed would appear somewhat premature.
Lille president Seydoux told Radio Monte Carlo: “We know that Gervinho is keen on Arsenal. For the moment, there has been simple contact, but we have not received a concrete offer yet.”
Arsenal have also been linked with Lille’s Belgian starlet Eden Hazard, but Seydoux maintained the 20-year-old would remain at their club.
It has so far been something of a slow transfer window for the Gunners, with young defender Carl Jenkinson so far the only confirmed addition in a £1m deal from Charlton.
However, that does not mean the Gunners have been idle in their search for new talent to help end a six-season trophy drought following an implosion over the closing months of the last campaign.
The addition of Southampton starlet Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is expected to be confirmed at the start of July ahead of Arsenal’s Far East tour.
However, the quest for more experienced cover, particularly in defence continues to prove a source of frustration.
It appears Blackburn are holding out for an increased fee for centre-half Christopher Samba, with Bolton’s Gary Cahill and Everton’s Phil Jagielka other options, if likely to be more expensive.
Spain’s Under-21 midfielder Juan Mata is another reported target, rated at around £18m by Valencia, while the Gunners are also said to be tracking Argentina youngster Ricky Alvarez.
WTL, i don’t care whether you are black, white or brown, i only pointed out what you statement sounds like

Barca ramp up Cesc bid
Barcelona are aiming to sign Cesc Fabregas within a fortnight but Arsenal’s decision whether to sell will not be determined by the probable arrival of Ricardo Alvarez, another attacking midfielder, writes Jeremy Wilson.
Fabregas is scheduled to return to training at Arsenal on July 5, but, before then, Barcelona are likely to test the Gunners with a further bid of around £31m.
They have already had one offer of £27m turned down and, while Arsenal were adamant last summer that they would not consider a valuation below £45m, there is a hope at Barca that a compromise can be reached at around £35m.
Everything is likely to depend on the attitude of manager Arsene Wenger.
Publicly, Wenger has always sounded confident that Fabregas will stay.
The signing of Alvarez is likely to be announced in the next week, with a deal for Lille striker Gervinho also understood to be close.
In addition, Arsenal want two more centre-backs, with Christopher Samba, Gary Cahill and Phil Jagielka among the options.
Wenger has also said that he wants Gael Clichy to stay and has confirmed that the club have begun talks on a new contract with their left-back. Arsenal are about to resume negotiations with Samir Nasri, too.
Arsenal’s general transfer policy has been to invest heavily in the player contracts of the existing squad but pay relatively less on transfer fees. This policy will be further supported by a new £25m deal with Barratt Homes to build 700 flats opposite the Emirates.

Don’t care about what this argument’s about and have absolutely no interest in entering this slagfest but as far as I’m concerned this
is out of order.
”

Sorry, mate.

Rohan,
need a few stitches for your poor bleeding heart?
see ya…
“It has so far been something of a slow transfer window for the Gunners, with young defender Carl Jenkinson so far the only confirmed addition in a £1m deal from Charlton.”
its been a slow transfer decade
She went on the advice of her family. She said the minority shareholders were the ones that suffered. You think 4k more per share really has that big of an effect on her fortune?
I have hardly ever seen any racist stuff on here, but that comes pretty fucking close imo.
ffs,really am off now.
shit season and shit summer so far
our best player and captain soon to be off and we are linked with loads of names as always and not a single world class name in amongst them
we are getting held to ransom by the likes of clichy and nasri
the deadwood are still here, no one is stupid enough to give us the money we want for them
the fans were protesting last game and many no longer attend home games which results in a dire atmosphere 95% of the time
the clubs transfer policy is proven to NOT work yet we persist with it
we’ve been bought out by yanks and now have more americans on the board then english
and our most sucsessfull manager is now constantly being questioned (rightly so) and is now tarnishing what was a great reputation
if things dont change we are in for bigger falls and a stint in the wilderness that could make the last 6 years look like a 6 months
in wenger we trust or rust
Pat,
of course not, but selling something under its value is pretty daft regardless, especially when you team up with people you don’t really hold in high regard…
IMO, Usmanov is more of a businessman than Kroenke will ever be and come to think of it, it’s about 25% price difference, which is a cool few million for her…
she could have given away the ‘surplus’ to orphans for all I care…
by the way:
@NinaBracewell Nina Bracewell-Smith
@Gooner_66 money is tight as no #sugardaddy.
SUGA, anyone who thinks has known that we don’t have money. Wenger gets a lot of stick for not spending when we know he doesn’t have the money, regardless of what the board members say. He’s been protecting them for whatever reason.
We need to get these incompetent people out, but how?
@jonnyth14 sure I was pushed. Who wants to leave a club that is so dear to one’s heart. Hopefully I will be back. I do have a good relationship with SK. Fingers crossed.
She also says Arsene ‘has a job for life’ to her understanding. Not necessarily manager though.
I’m not convinced thats a real twatter account for Lady Nina.
If it is, she deserves some kudos for offering her opinion but she’s gonna attract some heat from the board.
Pat,
I think offering AU a director’s seat would be a start, I mean, he owns nearly 30% of the club, for crying out loud…
the likes of PHW would probably jump before being pushed then, IMO…
and quite frankly, I don’t buy that ‘we don’t have the money’ stuff, at the end of the day, we can afford to pay Diaby and the like 50K+ per week and we buy the kids for silly money like fucking was to go out of fashion…
Lurch,
as far as I know, she used to be one of the critical board members and was ousted, DD stylee, wasn’t she?
@NinaBracewell Nina whats your opinion of Ivan Gazidis? Right man for the job?
@Craig_Gooner4 Nah! But I am not there to see it first hand. Could be wrong you know, and he may surprise us all. Time will tell.
Gazidis is WAY out of his depth…
yeah Suga,
but those twitter action’s simply aren’t befitting of an executive of a company the size of Arsenal PLC.
Its pretty sensitive information she’s leaking.
Aint it a little coincidental that in a boring transfer window an ex communicated executive starts tweeting insight’s into our clubs past board dealings?
hmmmm
#suspicious
Don’t really care what the board think about her now. Not a fan of the Arsenal board.
The kids we buy(like the Barca duo) are not funded by our first team transfer reserve.
Paying Diaby 50k is modern football. Anderson, Carrick aren’t any better and they get paid around the same amount, if not more in Carrick’s case.
dunno Lurch, there are a few quite serious people tweeting with her, if it’s a hoax, it’s pretty damn well executed!
what is so sensitive about posting the public secrets like ‘the AFC board is a bunch of muppets’, etc.?
#paranoidmuch?
“Gazidis is WAY out of his depth…”
you might be surprised, but I think he’s a fairly capable cat after that Q&A.
He might be out of his depth footbalistically but I think we’ve grown too big now to have a CEO that can operate on a multinational legal level and have football industry muscle.
Pat,
all I am saying is that we should get shot of the four marmites who are fucking shit whenever they play and buy two useful players instead, paying them by combining the wages of two?
would you rather have these four (you know who I am talking about) or two players who could make the difference?
Doubt it’s real. Someone like Nina Bracewell would be far more diplomatic I’d like to think.
GKB
yeah I know, I also scrolled back to the beginning of her tweets and there’s a well established line of credibility.
would I put it past Red & White to destabilize the board and fan base with a fictitious twitter account?
call me paranoid maybe, but ask yourself if corporate espionage on this level is fiction?
don’t know, and I’d keep an open mind.
Lurch,
so, he is not half bad at peddling the sugar coated bullshit to people, so is every other second hand car salesman, no?
the problem is that we don’t have any muscle, it was gone with Dein and his network of contacts, money is one, old fashioned industry respect is another and football is a classic case of old boys’ network…
Lurch,
I believe her lawyers would be all over the imposter like a rash in a blink of an eye, especially with the stuff that is posted…
would I put it past Red & White to destabilize the board and fan base with a fictitious twitter account?
=============
hahaha, that’s brilliant
“what is so sensitive about posting the public secrets like ‘the AFC board is a bunch of muppets’, etc.?”
your not serious right?
right??!
thats about as credible as my jermain jenas wind up!
Obviously 2 higher quality players, but I can probably point out a similar situation in many clubs.
I just want Arturo Vidal, Mata, A CB or 2. Keep our best players, sell Denilson, Rosicky, Nikki B, maybe Eboue. Give DIaby 1 more year
lol, Nina follows Le Grove.
yeah I get you Suga re: Gadzidis.
I’d keep him as CEO, he just needs some football men on the board in support.
Pat,
we have been through this with A, the club has one massive pot of money, it’s all about allocation, even if you name the smaller piles of cash as ‘first team’, ‘kids’, ‘gak for Rosicky’, etc., it’s still the same finite amount…
would you rather buy a few kids, spend, say £4M on them or would you rather allocate this to the ‘adult’ transfer fund?
NinaBracewell Nina Bracewell-Smith
@
@nickmeynell no couldn’t handle a women with power on the board. Felt insecure. #male chauvinism
==============
eh, it seems more and more like a hack.
Lurch,
soccer men, you mean?
Rohan,
and why wouldn’t she say something like that? is her being patronised by the likes of PHW beyond your imagination?
no soccer men, only past legends should be invited to the board IMHO.
Exactly Rohan, there’s way too much crap on there for someone of her standing.
also note how all her early tweets have no reply’s or enter in dialogue.
hmmmm
No, but I can’t see her actually saying that. Very provocative comments. Bit dodgy as far as I’m concerned.
Either way, it’ll be interesting to see any reaction.

this is wrong on so many levels.
not care!? the clubs been in her husbands family since 1948.
OK, what does she have to gain if its for real?
Lurch,
that’s a bit of misunderstanding: what I meant was that she did not give a shit about the former fellow board members and there is nothing which would land her in hot water in this situation, like I said, there was nothing wrong with a single tweet…
besides, I still think an imposter would be nipped in the bud, way before the account holder would build up the rep she has…
I honestly feel for Arsenal fans this summer, we’re really trolling the depths waiting for something to happen.
Suga3,
nothing so controversial to raise an eyebrow but when you question the motives behind the voice and the timing it reeks imho.
no executive would offer insight to another’s aptitude on a public social vector and especially not a titled individual.

Interesting quotes here by Lady Nina on the state of The Club
“If the role of a board member is to oversee a trophyless period, while making significant personal profits and asking fans to pay inflation-busting ticket price increases then, no, I would not want to be on the board.
“If instead it is to try to deliver sustained success, to increase your personal investment in the club, to help develop the commercial position and to ensure the fans have a say in the running of the club then, yes, I think I certainly have something to contribute.
“In terms of doing things differently, let me give you a very clear example. Arsenal has all of its major commercial contracts coming up for renewal in the next couple of years.”
Either she reads Le Grove, or she is infact Geoff or Pedro.
……..or Sabeel
now, old Red nose is getting a bit senile, so I wonder if we can pretend to sell him Nasri for 20 million quid, only at the last minute, we rub out Nasri’s name on the contract and insert those below:
Den*lson
R*sicky
Alm*nia
Ebou*
Cl*chy
Ben&tner
Squill*chi
Imagine his face when those lot drive in to the Old Trafford car park in their Aston Martins and Ferraris…Almunia, presumably, crashing into the gate on the way in.
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3663000/Arsene-Wenger-pens-heartfelt-letter-to-unhappy-Arsenal-supporter.html
If we end up paying, say 20k per week of Denilshite’s contract for the next three years in order to get him off our books, then that is around 3 million quid. I don’t think we’d get more than 5 million for him, even if we offered to pay some of his future wages. That means we won’t make much money out of the guy.
Who signs off on these ridiculous deals? Is it the same person/people who decided not to pay Cashley 5k more, up the offer for a goalkeeper last year or quibbles over the salaries of our top wage earners? Terrible…
is anyone else worrying about the softening of our stance on Cesc with Barca? If we look at this objectively, from the player angle, it’s a player we gave our captaincy to, brought through from a youth, helped support and develop, and made the centre of our team (oh, yes, and gave generous long-term contracts to for over 100k per week). From Barca’s point of view, it’s a player they do not actually need (having the best two players in the world in front of him in the same position), They have treated us like fools in destabilising our captain (arguably resulting in his terrible performances against them – and this is not new, they did the same to Henry. and then, on top of all that, they offer a derisory amount of cash for him, making it look as though they are doing us a favour – for a player with 4 years still let on his contract!
We owe Cesc nothing and we owe Barca nothing. And most likely they still owe us for past transfers anyway. They are a bankrupt club who feel a sense of entitlement to a player they let go many years ago. If we let them take him for anything under 50 million quid then we are fools. we don’t need the money. On the contrary, we have money in the bank. Unlike Barca. If they want Cesc so much, then what are they doing paying 60m plus Eto’o for Ibrahimovich, 30m odd for Villa?
I remember thinking at the time that the 16m Barca paid for Henry was a steal. He then mostly warmed the bench for them while we struggled to replace him up front. If we do the same with Fabregas then more fool us: we will watch him warm Barca’s bench while we have to wait for Ramsay and Wilshire to gain experience.
Fabregas going for anything less than 45 million is a joke.I have had enough of this saga really. Its clear Cesc is worth atleast 45-50 million. Also clear that barca can’t afford that.Where is the room for negotiation really???I hope the news about Arsenal ready to lower the valuation is all bullshit. Why the fuck should we lower our valuation if they don’t have any money??
The trial of the away shirts was made long ago. It was April when Samir Nasri tweeted that he had a trial with the away kit and he added that people will like it. The Daily Fail is making up stories to get few hits from deluded Arsenal fans.
