Remember him, Michael Johnson, what happened to our interest in him? I heard Wenger thought he was Jay in the Inbetweeners and went right off him because he lied about his sex life all the time. Oops…
We were also after his mate, Micah Richards, the Arsenal fan that plays at the back, he would be an interesting buy with the ever growing squad the northern chavs now have would he not? Given our need and pardon the amusing pun!
Fellaini say he wants to join a team that will win trophies, well that kind of rules us out, but Sissoko is from the French leagues where we do our shopping and is cheap, so he could be of interest.
For Falcao to be choosing between us and Chelsea does makes me laugh, so far they have been after Neymar, Villa and any expensive player with a pulse, and now they have got the new Maureen from Portugal, expect every half decent player to arrive from their league, Falcao being one of them.
It’s reported we have a £60mil transfer budget, that’s reported every year though and if we sold Cesc that would top £100mil, what would he spend if he had that? Probably less than he sold players for and on that note it’s not looking very good is it!
£7mil for Clichy and that’s it, all these super class kids we’ve suffered over the years have attracted no-one, not even the world’s greatest striker Nikki B.
The only thing that won’t go away is Samba and Gervinho, we should just buy Cahill before he goes elsewhere, put a bid in for a winger that will be around in January, buy a decent forward, and if we aren’t going to use Vermaelen or Kozzer as DM’s then get a world class one of those in for good measure. We are what? 3 weeks away from pre-season and then the real season starts with a bang, we need these players to gel, so we need to act now.
Names like Jose Manuel Jurado and Peter Odemwingie have to be non starters for me, who are they??? Buying them would be like signing Bishcoff all over again.
With all this non activity I wonder how many hours a day Ivan and his massive team actually work for, think about it, we aren’t buying players, we aren’t selling them either, we aren’t doing sponsorship deals as they are all done, so what do those people do 8 hours a day 5 days a week, it has to be the cushiest job there is don’t you think? And at the end of the week they all get to watch a game in a padded seat, …I said padded seat!
We need to send a message to our players, our fans and our critics, that we are going to match Barca this coming season, that they now have competition, to go out year in year out knowing we are not in their league is unacceptable Arsene.
We need to sign a few players to make us contenders, we will need 3 or 4 but it needn’t break the bank, it never would have. Buying great players won’t morph us into Leeds United, David O’Leary did that.
Remember the days when we signed players like Bergkamp, Henry, Pires and Reyes? We almost did it with Arshavin until we ruined him, I think he got a bollocking for that 4 goal thriller at Anfield for having too many shots, we never saw that again did we!
But you should at the very least spend what you have, and please have a clear out, to have 5 of your first team squad all wanting to go somewhere else to win trophies really shows them what they think of you and project youth Arsene.
And one of them is your captain!
Lets get our Arsenal back, cheer up the players and give our fans some real hope, it’s in your hands right now and we are still in 4 trophies.
Have a great day Grovers, today I am feeling mostly hope!

Geoff – That is my BIGGEST fear, that the man won’t change. Change is desperately needed, both in personnel and in methods/approach/attitudes.
Can a man who is about to turn 62, who has staked his reputation in this personnel and methods/approach/attitudes change?
For me, it’s a no.
Please, please, please prove me wrong Arsene…………but, i won’t be holding my breath.
Wtl – Very true, but since not renewing i have honestly found it easier to distance myself from the bullshit and angst surrounding my club.
DDM -
You fucking liar, youre here every morning just like me hoping and praying!!!
True! But, it no longer rules my life……
In a way it’s sad, sad that my passion for my club has been tempered by the current management’s stifled attitude towards winning trophies and the fans, it’s what we relate to, glory!
Not fucking balance sheets, or whether a player has a resale fucking value ffs.
Just a thought…..to Arsenal fans who haven’t renewed their season tickets….and by the way…you have every right, whatever the reason and it doesn’t make you less of an Arsenal fan: What would be your attitude if AW spends big money this summer, signs 3/4 top quality players and we go on to win next year’s Premier League……would you want a season ticket again???
I woudn’t say he is killing his legacy Geoff- he is actually leaving AFC in a good state (financially at least). He would kill his legacy by spending all our money on crap players- something he could yet do.
I think what you mean is he is diminishing his achievements as a coach- which he undoubtedly is with the period of non-success. But, if a new manager came in, they would find in a very good state from which to build- certainly the best position any new manager has been in since Chapman died.
I don’t buy into all this ‘killing the club’ nonsense. He may be letting the club stagnate by his inaction / poor recent transfer record, but that is entirely different.
Not winning a trophy for 7 seasons is an achievement then is it? Fuck you must be easy to please.
PK – Me and my brother talked long, and hard about not renewing this year. We both decided we needed a break from it all – The Denilsons, The AW excuses/bullshit, The woeful/embarrassing defending, the perennial collapses, the lack lustre attitudes on the pitch, the……..well you get the picture.
It is a break, we will see how we feel year by year. A year away may ‘recharge the batteries’ so to speak. However, another year like the last one, may distance us from renewing yet again.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not about some God given right to win trophies, it’s about the aesthetics that surround the performances.
When did I say it was? Or are you relying to something else entirely?
8.52 read it again, I don’t see how bribing the worlds second tier talent to come to one of the biggest clubs in the world, winning fuck all for 7 years and getting paid £42mil in the process warrants praise.
Call me old fashioned but that’s fucking up a legacy, if it were the real business he would have been fired 5 years ago.
dennisdamenace…..fair one…
I’ve lived in Dubai since 2005 but have kept shelling out for 2 season tickets since 1995 (my sister and brother-in-law) use them and I pinch them when I’m back in the UK. We talk about giving them up every disappointing season end….and I agree with most of the short-comings you mention. But you know what…some people including me just love to go football and support your team..I like to have a few beers before the game…talk shit with your mates.. then soak up the atmosphere inside the stadium(definitely disappearing now)..have a sing…show some hope…get behind the team…call the ref a cunt…call the opposition a bunch of cunts(without a steward hearing)… and enjoy the success… and suffer the pain of another collapse!
I understand your decision but be careful you don’t become a shop-steward for the fans who think we have a sense of entitlement to win trophies..
NEW POST!
Wenger clearly hasnt ‘killed the club’.
However, and ive said this a lot of times on here…..if you had placed a spurs supporting mole at Arsenal in May 2004, and asked them to drag the club down, he couldnt have done a better job than Wenger has.
Paul with the money we pay, and the money he and the players get paid, we do.
Geoff…well that in a nutshell is why I have started to agree with opposition fans that the support and atmosphere from Arsenal fans at the Emirates is getting worse….Entitlement..Entitlement..Entitlement…
gambon..you’ve posted….I needed a good laugh!
Your Spurs mole nearly fucked up and got us to within 15 minutes of the holy grail – CL Final 2006.
