Enrique, Samba and Parker hotting up, but still no takers for our talented kids, surely not?

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Jose Enrique Sanchez Diaz, the Spanish left back is being suggested as a replacement to Gael Clichy, I don’t know too much about him other than he is a year younger and is in the last year of his contract at Newcastle, the team that came back from 4 down to us, so does that make him a good left back or a bad one? One thing is for sure, he’s not Leighton Baines so we won’t be spending big in that position if we buy him.

Samba seems to be getting closer as Blackburn now admit the player himself wants to go to Arsenal but they want to demonstrate to him how ambitious they are, okay so that means we’ve got him then. Arsene go and impress us and buy Cahill as well!

Lee Dixon himself is urging the boss to sign Scott Parker, now I have always liked Scott Parker and would have him all day long over super slow Song, but I do worry about his luck with injuries, will we be buying the player of the year and getting 3 great seasons until Coquelin or Frimpong grow up, or are we looking at a crock.

I can’t answer that, but I would sooner have him than watch him go to the spuds.

Now here’s the biggest question since who is Prince Harry’s real dad.

Why have our multi talented young players not been snapped up by the top clubs in Europe? Clichy, Denilson, Bendtner and Vela are all available, Bendtner is 100% sure of leaving but it seems 99% of clubs have made no offers, we even tried to swap Denilson plus cash for Costa but they laughed at us and Liverpool offered a paltry £5mil for Clichy.

These are all players that have played many games for us and no one in football wants them, that will tell you a lot!

As for the older stars, no one wants them either, but they still get games for the Arsenal, Almunia, Squillaci and Rosicky, and we can’t give them away.

I did say some time ago that you know how good your players are when people go after them, players like Nasri, Cesc and Robin will always be chased but players like Song, Denilson and Bendtner who have had key roles in our team over the years don’t get a single offer, that to me shows you how good they aren’t, yet with us they get game after game, strange that.

I do wonder what Kozzer or Vermaelen would be like as DM’s though, if we got Cahill and Samba we will have a bunch of options, the strange thing is, Wenger messes about all the time with his centre backs but he never does with his DM position, I would give either of them a go, it may also save us money and make us a better team.

Don’t forget Johan Djourou joined us as a DM!

A few whispers about Jermaine Defoe are finding their way into blogland, the crossing the divide in Sol Campbell’s day was a big deal, but since Bentley and Gallas did it, it’s no big deal anymore so why is that? Is it because they are not really our big rivals anymore? Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

I have always liked Defoe, a real goalscorer, he is also an Arsenal fan and his hero is Ian Wright. He would do well at Arsenal because he could finish what our forwards can’t. And by that I mean Chamakh, Bendtner and crab football.

I wanted to sign him when he was at West Ham, will it happen? Who knows? Maybe Arsene does!

Diaby is a player when fit I also like, I don’t think he’s that bright, getting sent off against Newcastle and telling the world he wears a spud shirt testify to that, he has been injury prone his whole Arsenal career, but has had a big op this summer trying to sort the problem out for good, this has to be it Arsene, last chance saloon, we are not a hospital, if this doesn’t work he needs to go.

I saw a two tone blue away shirt yesterday and have to say I really like it, I like anything without that dreadful red current on it. My two favourite away kits of all time were that 1996 and the 2004 ones. Apart from the badge, I like this years home kit too, though I would have preferred white or hooped socks and a white collar instead.

Given the tough start we have to endure we really need to get all our new players in early as we will have to rest them with the hectic schedule, if we make some key signings I really fancy us to win big next year, all we need to do is get a defence, a DM and a winger, but you know what? That’s all we have needed since 2004.

Maybe this year our leader would have finally realised that too. Have a fun filled Fathers day Grovers, if any of you are dads enjoy the day, if you aren’t and you have a dad, go tell him you love him, he’ll like that!

got to say the english are a really loyal kind.

capello was about being booted out of the world cup and he was offered an extension.

pearce about being knocked out and he was offered a two year extension.

i’d like to manage an english team someday.

reading alot of comments about cahill samba comming to arsenal i think fans have a very short memeory wenger comming out with same speech about bringing in defenders and dealing with lack experience and leadership in the team in fact i heard the speech bringing the right players speech for past 5 years.i garantee backburn put up fee of around 15 mill but instaed of puting up the money wenger hangerling as usual it would not supri suprise me if the deal fell through.its going take whole lot to make into wenger believer again

  4. BOOZY

stand out players for england, who’ d likely make the senior team

    jones
    sturridge
    walker.

lansbury has to work harder, but if he continues this way, we may have a special player.

That said, as long as england keeps sucking up to man u, liverpool, chelsea and the spuds- england would never win any major championship- arsenal is the future for england.

  5. chris

with sanchez going to barcelona there’s no way they can afford cesc now.. so we are keeping him for better or worse

  6. OPG

I’m not sure Henderson went for £20m maybe £16.5m still alot though Smalling for £10m is not bad considering that. Still alot but people on Twitter still going on about my club is better than yours in the off season when it’s down to the manager to get the best out of the team yet he picks the wrong lineups.

  7. OPG

Fulham’s season starts in a 2 weeks because of the Europa League wow. Everyone else doesn’t start fully until Mid august.

    Big Dave

Absolutely class player. Dont think we’ll sign him though, apparantley Roma want £26m for him, nd hes a crock.

@suga. Our differences were well laid out yesterday and it would be dull to go there again so I won’t, but really…. You thought I was him? Really? That’s just a little bit insulting, despite that I am happy to admit he and I have plenty of common ground. I can’t help but think that to draw that conclusion, does give some credence to the idea that you guys can be just a little paranoid and unreasonable.

What I mean is, for instance, I was repeatedly called a cunt – actually my misses will attest to the fact that I don’t mind that so much – and a retard – I do mind that one – for pointing out the rather obvious fact that lots of Gooners, rightly or wrongly (I’m trying to be diplomatic here), feel differently to you guys re wenger.

You said that was obvious, but at the same time just assumed that I was him and accused me of being inarticulate despite the fact that I had articulated myself clearly. You were blinded to what was before you by the urge to shout down an opposing view, basing your conclusions on nothing other than the fact I expressed similar views to him, despite glaring differences in tone, grammar etc.

Frankly I found it quite enjoyable being the target of your ire (much more fun than a love-in with people you agree with), but I would ask that if I ever bother posting here again, that you just engage with points I raise and don’t just jump straight to “you akb cunt etc” type comments. One thing we all must admit is that a lot of these discussions revolve around conjecture, rumour and guesswork. We don’t actually know what will happen. Maybe I am deluded, but I genuinely believe next year will be good for us. Sorry if that is too much to stomach.

Willy did have a point, as I also expressed yesterday, that a lot of discussion on here and other blogs is actually based around rumours that some hack has simply made up to get us talking. I get it and I also Cant help buying into it to some extent myself. Every year, I promise myself I will ignore it but can’t and have been buying into it ever since those rumours in the early 80′s that zico was coming. But we must remain clear on the fact that it is nearly all total shite and criticism of wenger based on rumour is pointless. I know your criticism is largely of his recent record, but others here are happy to bang on about stuff that sprang from the mind of some shitface journo/Blogger and has no basis in reality whatsoever.

We will see if this summer is my alamo, as you said yesterday. All I ask is that if wenger does buy a selection of players who succeed and do fill the gaps we have, that you lot say ok, fair enough, we were wrong.

I know, I know, you mostly don’t think he will. I said if… And yes if we continue to decline, I will admit that wenger has lost it. However, maybe I am too patient, but I just think we owe him such a debt that I will happily give him a few more seasons. I still find myself chuffed that we moved on from the graham era. Yes winning is good but it did hurt on the quiet that we were so dull and the others were right when they said it. Wenger enabled us to respond, no fuck you, we now play some of the best footy in the world and that meant SO much to me. Yes we have clearly gone off the ball but I will give him more time to turn it around.

One thing conspicuously missing from these discussions is suggested alternatives. Who exactly are the available and realistic alternatives?

A Pilot announces during flight that the plane is going to land in two hours.
He forgets to put off the mike and says to the co-pilot: “Now I am gonna have some hot tea first and then fuck the air hostess for next hour”.

Listening to this, the hostess rushes towards the cockpit to shut off the mike, but stumbles on a kid’s leg and falls down.

The kid exclaims: “Really desperate for a fuck, ain’t you? Didn’t you hear he’s gonna have tea first!!!

  11. Pedro

A&N, I’ve only read his comments once, that was today.

He called Le Grove a hate site, then said we should be called Le Doom and there were also a number of other things he was sniping about.

    All unprovoked.

It makes us weak leaving twats like him on the site and it ruins the comments.

  12. Pedro

As for Jaguar… I’ve banned him loads of times, simple fact is, he never abuses unless he’s abused.

People like you Rohan actively go after him… I’m not a fan of his comments, but generally he just rants to himself.

  13. Pedro

People calling for Jaguar to be banned are scum… the equivalent of waving an imaginary card. Real disgraceful stuff there. ;-)

  14. Rohan

That’s fine Pedro. Still can’t see how you justify Raugaj still being on here given what you’ve said.

I remember you saying that he doesn’t insult anyone on here. That’s fucking blasphemy.

  15. Pedro

Rohan, he doesn’t… he’ll insult a view point… but he very rarely goes after anyone direct.

If he gets out of hand, I bin his comments.

  16. Rohan

simple fact is, he never abuses unless he’s abused.
    ===============

That’s not true. I can recall a case last week even calling me an AKB wanker when I wasn’t even having a conversation with him.

  17. DaleDaGooner

I second Rohan on that, he’ll pick your cooment, call you an AKB wanker and add his love affair with Dudaby and Denilshit to it

  18. Rohan

Forget about him insulting others for now. I’ll try and find the one I was talking about.
You really think shit like this should be tolerated on here?

Just think his fate was sealed before that. After 07/08, Arsene really had no more plans for him, I believe.
We just weren’t able to get a buyer that last season and he was injured a lot as well. If it was before he left Milan, Wenger probably would have tried to sell him that summer.

It’s not idiocy in any case.
    ——————————————–
Could you please keep your retarded, immature opinions to yourself as it doesnt make any sense? You can post these bullcrap in that blog Arsene’s Cum Licking Fuckers(ACLF),where they would entertain you.

    ===========================

Yeah, really provoked him there, didn’t I.

  20. SUGA3

    paddy,

now I would like to offer you an apology ;)

can’t recall whether I called you a cunt or not, but still…

my explanation is: I saw one lump of text, and similar POV, so I drew a hasty conclusion, now it is clear that you are not the same person, so, once again, I apologise…

as I said y’day, I prefer to refrain myself from commenting on these rumours, having gone through a couple of non-event transfer windows, I will pass my judgment on 01/09, regardless of the results of the August games…

to be honest, I would like OGL to shake off that punch drunk feeling he must have had during the times when we had no money, pull his head out of his arse and start buying players suitable to play the game we all loved…

but sadly, this is not going to happen (just my opinion) as this whole experiment has gone way too far, AW created a few ‘monsters’ who are beyond repair, which, along with the obscene wages they are undeservedly on, renders them ‘undisposable’ for all the wrong reasons…

  21. Keyser

Basically you can insult and talk as much shit as you like on here, as long as Pedro or Geoff aren’t around or you don’t speak out against the State.

  22. DaleDaGooner

LMAO @ “as if there’s a shortage of cocks on here chozzer.” Lurch …my friend, you are a loon

  23. Keyser

Rohan don’t be silly, think of the feelings you have towards Howard Webb, you wouldn’t say ‘Sir, I don’t like to grass, so I won’t', right after another blatant dive by Rooney.

  24. chozzer

    Lurch :)

Don’t diss Muamba, he could have been a contender if he’d been given as many games as the French African Brazilian midgets.

  25. Lurch LeRouge

    Shit?!

I suppose that’ll get the rephlex back on line if your in a bind.

what’s it like? recommend any particular vintage?

  26. Dutchman

    Gervinho to replace Rosicky
    David villa to replace Bendtner
    Chamberlain to replace Vela
    Douglas Costa to replace Fabregas
    Cahill to replace Squillaci
    Baines to replace Clichy
    Parker to replace Denilson

Look at the players leaving, don’t you see it guys? Those players WILL leave and we need replacements, so there WILL be a lot of changes.

  27. Lurch LeRouge

with that much coming and going Dutch, the last thing we want is to enter a preseason reinventing the wheel, you’ve seen our fixture list in the opening weeks – I’d rather enter that with Cesc in the starting xi.

  28. Dutchman

The point is that if we do those transfers, we still haven’t paid much money. But if those changes happen, i think we will win the title. So you can say that it is not fifa. But this is not unrealistic because we only have tospend 10/20m

    Fabregas 30m
    Vela 5m
    Bendtner 10m
    Rosicky 5m
    Squillaci 1m
    Clichy 9m
    Denilson 5m
    = 65m

    Gervinho 12m
    Chamberlain 8m
David villa free in cesc deal
    Cahill 17m
    Baines 17m
    Parker 7m
    Douglas Costa 20m
    = 81m

    = 16m spend

    I will sign for that!

  29. SUGA3

fuck knows dude! this is what Times of London had to say:

‘There’s something beautiful and deeply subversive in taking one of the most masculine, straight, heavy groups of all time and turning them into girls. Chuck in the “Lez” reference and we’re talking about a revolution.’

  30. DaleDaGooner

    Dutch,

Cjamberlain will go for mor than 8m, they are holding out for 12m

I doubt Villa will come and his wages.
Baines, doubt he’ll be off Everton, and doubt we’ll be able to get him, if City aren’t already interested..i like the look of Jose Enrique though,

Douglas Costa, hmmm, what if he flops in the EPL?

peace out, I am off, I have to get some sleep, busy week ahead…

  34. young gg

Wenger has 2 go,,,….i’ve got a funny feeling he’s gna sign johny woodgate(on a free), possibly PV4(on a free) and sum unknown french dude for 8mil,…as well as this gervinho character,…..i just don’t know why he doesn’t go and pay the 12mil for samba,..the 16 on cahill,….and 8m on scot parker,…or instead of him dat belgian dude with da afro frm everton,i’ve read he wants CL football,…i still feel we need a winger(an out an out winger,we have NONE), i would have loved ashley young,so i would go for dat dutch kid who plays for Hamburg,ELIA………yh y not get defoe in,i’ve always said he reminds me of ian wright, obviosly not as good but he is very sharp,..swap diaby and offer sum cash, sell bendSHIT, cash in on denilson, seb squallci, rosicky and clichy has to go

  35. jlp

who walks around yodeling like a goat, clapping their hands feverishly whilst drooling milk dud spit
    some gross ass shit
hockey riots not so fun folks
Wouldnt mind a lite tazing policy at the club though. Seems to me you would really have to sport some shit for brains if you made a tazerable mistake a second time plus would make for a great Arsenal gags DvD.

  36. SurferX

    Morning munglers…

The excellent Martin Samuel writing for the rubbish Daily Mail…

Whose side are you on, Arsene?

‘It is the club who make the players’ careers,’ said Arsene Wenger in response to talk that Samir Nasri wishes to leave.

He meant it as an endorsement of his methods, but could that be the problem all along? Nasri’s career is standing still, as are Arsenal. Growing dissent now comes from unusual quarters, from the very people who should be most staunchly on Wenger’s side. And whose fault is that?

The traditional allies of the manager are the players and fans. All three groups prioritise success. The players want the best teammates

and the greatest chance of winning a trophy. The supporters want to see the best football, and to win. The manager is usually in tune with these ideals. The directors want success too, of course, but they have additional priorities. They must balance the books; they have duties to shareholders and creditors. This leaves the manager as the custodian of the ambitions of fans and players. If Wenger is losing support it is because he often seems unaware of this.

In the struggle between us and them, he is perceived as being with them. He is not keeping his best players; he is not spending big on replacements. Wenger remains the dream appointment of every chairman; but that is not necessarily a compliment.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-2005670/Martin-Samuel-So-whats-left-make-Toon-swoon.html

  37. Geoff

Morning all, nothing to do with football but watching the BBC news this morning about the female retirement age. The bloke says but surely women and men should be equal, so the woman says but we need more notice.

Funny I don’t remember them saying pay rises and equality should be deferred.

Anyway, this has to be the time that Wenger buys Cahill and Samba, if he misses this opportunity the man is just a fool.

The transfer budget of £25mil, plus the property money of £25mil plus the money from sales of his top players like Bendtner, Rosicky, Denilson, Squillaci…

Never mind Cesc, he has no excuses for buying in the basement this time.

  38. dennisdamenace

So, Nasri. To sell or not??

    Will he resign, or not?

I get the horrible feeling that this will drag on throughout the summer.

Arsenal are extremely quiet on the situation with him and Clichy.

  39. dennisdamenace

Seriously though, what part of letting key first team member’s contracts are allowed to be run down towards the one year mark???

WTF is this vast management team doing at Arsenal, apart from mismanaging players contracts?

  40. Moray

Geoff, statistically women live 5+ years longer than men too, so the idea of them having a younger retirement age is a bizarre anachronism. You are right, though, equality is all very good until that bill arrives at the table…

  41. OPG

Things should start moving hopefully as it changes to July whoever Wenger wants, tries to get and the players that he is willing to finally let go.

  42. OPG

I bloody hope so anyway.. yes Wimbledon is here and the Murray Grand Slam bandwagon starts again until he get’s knocked out.

  43. Moray

DDM, I think we were focusing our attentions on tying down D#nilson, Rosicky, Fabianski, Diaby, Bendtn#r et all to long term contracts at exorbitant wage levels. Nasri and Clichy must have slipped by in the night.

To be completely honest, Clichy can fuck off though.

I think we have a couple of important contracts coming up next year, such as VP10, so let’s see what happens with that.

No offers for D#nilson or Bendtn#r yet? Perhaps they are holding out for 150k per week? I’m not sure Bolton can pay that much!

  44. Geoff

    Moray, well put!

Dennis I don’t blame Nasri, why should he want to stay through this nutty experiment and win nothing.

I would keep him if I could though. Sell Cesc, he’s clearly preferring barca, end of story.

  45. dennisdamenace

    Geoff, totally agree.

I don’t blame the lad, at least he’s showing ambition. He doesn’t want to turn into another Fabregas, wasting his career at a club with limited ambition.

  46. Geoff

Sad really and the nutty bastard is still trying to buy sub standard players on the cheap.

    He has learned nothing.

  47. dennisdamenace

Those sub-standard, cheap players put little or no pressure on the existing sub-standard, cheap players………it’s all so cosy……..and pathetic, yet people can’t work out why we’re STILL trophyless!!

  48. Moray

Yeah, I don’t buy into the idea that Fabregas or Nasri owe the club anything, however Fabregas is tied into a long contract, so he should zip it as Barca have long been undertaking to destabilise him in order to get him on the cheap, which is not on…

It is not true that it is only us that this happens to. Gerrard was out of Liverpool to Chelski before gangsters threatened to kill his family, and Shrek was out of Man U before they agreed to pay him stupid money for hair plugs. However, we are a big club with limited ambitions, and so we will pay for that until the situation changes (or until we invite the Krays back to stick Fabregas in the thumb-screws).

If you win no trophies then the only other thing you can offer a good player is money, to be honest. That and a reach around from Pat Rice.

  49. zeus

    Frenchie

Spot on about cesc vs nasri but lay off the guys bird. She is probably a rebound. He was committed fir like 6 years to the previous one. Arsenal announcers even referred to her as Carla Fabregas.
