Finally Wenger lets Randall go, could he at last have seen the light?

by & filed under Uncategorized.

So news today is that our leader has finally realised what we all did 5 years ago that Mark Randall will never make the big time with Arsenal.

Why oh why did it take that long to work out boss?

Now please understand that like many other young men at our club Mark is a decent lad, but like so many of our loanees, he will clearly never be a first team player and all I have ever said is why keep him, it’s cruel, good luck son, I hope someone like West Ham gobble you up and you have a long and fruitful future in professional football.

In other news Stan has given shareholders 14 days to cash in their shares or he withdraws his offer, thanks Stan, I may just sell mine to Usmanov for 50% more than you are offering, as unlike the board of Arsenal, I know what a bargain really is. Ha, ha!

I wonder if Wenger will surprise us all and splash out on Neymar, the Brazilian wonder kid, that would be neat, lose one Brazilian and buy another, talking of our Brazilian, we’ll see how much his project youth kids are really worth when we finally get shot of him, £3.8mil to buy, plus what he’s cost us and I reckon we’ll need £15mil just to cover our costs, we’ll be lucky to get a third of that, so I’ll have money he’ll be an undisclosed fee job!

What I did find amazing was on Saturday Barca won the European cup without Puyol (notwithstanding the last 5 minutes) They didn’t need their defence, that will tell you something, the whole team get back and defend, there are so many things you can learn from their set up, but first of all you can’t have any weak links, and we have a few.

Aaron Ramsey seems to think we’ll spend big, I hope he’s right, watching him in the useless ‘other nations cup’ the other night we could sure do with playing him a bit more this coming season, maybe he will, who knows, but if Frimpong really does turn out for Ghana, he’s another we will lose at ACN time, so relying on him to replace Song won’t be a smart move, we really do need to sign a DM for sure this summer.

Talking of Song he says we need to be tougher against weaker opposition, no sh*t Sherlock, was that the problem then? I see the real issue as we aren’t good enough against weaker opposition because we have too many players in the comfort zone, you mate being one of them.

We aren’t letting Vela go to the Copa America, why? It may be the poor sods only chance to show anyone how good he really is, or isn’t. I would let him go or sell him on. Not letting him go is petty in my book, I would love to know what pissed Wenger off with Carlos, it can’t be the hooker story can it, after all, pot and kettle!

Well by my reckoning the summer begins on Wednesday (June 1st) so buckle up Grovers and get ready for the ride of your life, are you listening Arsene!

wld u believe this fuck saying his arsenal fan

  2. gambon

Completely agree with this clear out, if they arent good enough we should move on.

Hopefully Hoyte, Eastmond, Traore, Vela, JET, Watt, Sunu, Murphy to follow.

Its not just about Loserpool & Citeh improving. Its about Arsenal going backwards..fast.
    —————————————————-

See I entirely agree we’re not progressing in the way we might. I firmly believe that a couple of players that IMMEDIATELY improve our squad should have been signed both last summer and the summer before.

But I see no evidence whatever that we are ‘going backwards fast’. In fact, the main, valid criticism is that literally nothing has changed!

  4. gambon

Myles Palmer isnt an Arsenal fan, but its hard to disagree with him, hes been spot on for years, unlike people such as Albo, A, Cescsmyboy who tell us we are gonna win the PL every year.

  5. albo

    And another thing!:

“Thats why Citeh overtook us last season.”

Er no. Citeh overtook us because they spend a gazillion pounds buying in some of the best players in the world. I’m not putting a judgement on that spending at all, but let’s not pretend that we regressed while they stood still!

  6. David

Tom Cruise was a shyte LB.

    Slow.

    Couldnt pass.

    Couldnt defend.

By far the weekest link on that youth winning team

  7. David

    Albo,

City overtook us because they spent a gazzilion pounds?

You mean it had nothing to do with us winning 2 games in 11?

  8. Albo

David – overall, City are where they are because they have improved their squad enormously. I take your point tho, that we still ought to have pipped them to 3rd…

To be fair. It was seriously Game on when the granny shagger leveled,

But thats where you have to be jealous of Barca.

If that was Arsenal we would crumble like toasted bread.

Barca stood up and smashed the living (#@)$(@$*)# out of them.

  10. David

    Albo,

    Shoulda, coulda woulda.

Even deep down you know we couldve won the league.

I gave up (not that i think you care) on Arsene last season when the Mancs were obviously in rebuild mode after the greasy gay boy had left for madrid and they had no Tevez.

Perfect timing to strengthen our squad for EPL domination.

Instead we opted for Sol Campbel, Silvestre and playing Arshavin as a CF for 3months.

Actually im talking myself upset so im just going to leave it there.

Can’t wait for Financial Fair Play to kick in and get the likes of City in trouble. Can’t wait for Roman to get bored at Chelsea and just leave them with a bucket load of debt. Can’t wait for Fergie to retire and the inevitable regression of Utd when that happens. Not to mention they are saddled with debt. Liquidation cometh soon my friends.

Then we can see our team get back to the glory days. Morality wins out in the end (S)

  12. Wenger the liar

Myles P said before the game that the stand out bet was both teams to score, maybe it explains what he wrote about Rooney.

Love the anti-anti-AKB movement on the blogs these days. Maybe you guys should hire Nelson Mandela to lead the cause and advance the AKB fightback.

Its funny to still see Doomers described by everyone as “A small but vocal minority”.

Apparently if your answer to someone is “shut up you fucking AKB cunt” youre a idiot doomer who knows nothing about football however if your answer to every question a doomer puts to you is “Trust in Arsene, he knows, we are 1-2% away from playing like Barca” youre mental ability to assess football and life in general has reached parity with the dalai lama.

  13. DaleDaGooner

    Someone wrote the folowing: ”

IT’S ALSO THE FANS. We’re not vocal enough in the right direction.

We’re the most complex fans in the world because we have so many factions and NEVER rally for the same thing. As for the Emirates Stadium atmosphere…its pitiful. Stand up and scream your lungs out dammit. It’s a 60 000 seater stadium and Liverpool’s 40 000 seater is still LOUDER. Why is the Emirates so quiet? If fans from abroad were flown in for one match I will bet you 1000 pounds that the Emirates will erupt like a volcano. We yearn for the chance to express ourselves at our spiritual home which is the Emirates and yet we have to sit by the TV and see a bunch of panzies have a picnic. And you only shout out loud when you Boo the Arsenal team. What the hell? Did our spirit die with Highbury?

MOST FANS GUN FOR WENGER AND LET THE BOARD GET AWAY EVERYTHING.

    -======

makes sense to me…Get Gooners rom other countries into the Emirates and you’ll get an Atmosphere worthy of a world class football club…

  14. sixx pac

Nasri is our priority? Fucking mercenary is what he is. I thought our priority was to surround the best midfielder on the planet with the players that will make him happy and not want to leave?

  15. gambon

    How is he a mercenary?

For all we know he may be stalling util he sees if Arsene buys anyone decent. Why would he wnt to play with retards like Koscielny?

  16. Santos

Other big clubs will find a way to manipulate the FFP. It will be nice to see clubs spend no more than what they earn though.

Lets not forget that winning football must come first before FFP is worshipped.

  17. sixx pac

Gambon because all the signs point to him only wanting to get a payrise and the fact that he was planning to use the player of the year award and his being captain of the French NT as leverage backs that up.

Our wage structure sucks and a player of his calibre would certainly be on a lot more if he were at a Man U or Bayern or Inter but he’s not worth more to Arsenal than Cesc and Robin. Certainly not a priority. He’s not unique.

  18. Tarquin Wetherby-Smythe

Yaya has won shit. Yaya is a monster of a player. And besides, if some smarmy little cunt thinks that 60,000 a week isnt enough money to play for The Arsenal, they can fuck off.

  19. goonerDNA

Its not like people are still saying I will join arsenal because of the way they play bollocks, since we win fuck all so joining/staying at Arsenal will be about money that’s a fact otherwise join Chelsea or City who win things and pay you properly

  20. CallItKarma

God i just wish RVP would stay fit next year, i know we’re at a shit point at the moment but he could be just as prolific a goalscorer as Henry was, imagine him with Walcott and Falcao/Neymar/Benzema (order of preference) and Nasri/Cesc, Wilshire, Ramsey/De Rossi behind him (i dont know much about defensive players admittedly but i DO rate Sakho)

  21. sixx pac

Santos, Gambon my FFP post was tongue in cheek. Its basically what I’ve been seeing some Arsenal fans, especially Untold Arsenal, saying. I think depending on FFP, depending on other teams regressing etc is a sign of a weak mentality. I mean where’s the pride in winning if only by default?

Or will they show the same lack of passion as the players from other countries at the Emirates?

  23. DaleDaGooner

Reading through yesterday’s post and today’s half way…..
It’s real interesting reading up all suggestions, banters or insults…..
On Randall, how could anyone have known he wouldn’t really make it? After al “we need more English\British heart” Besides not all that goes to La masia makes it onto the Barca team A.

Speaking on Barca team A, They got Messi, Iniesta, Pedro, Bojan, Busquets, Pique in the same way we are racking up these kids, all in the hope we can form a back bone for the team some day, unfortunately, England does not produce as much technically gifted players as Spain, South America or even Africa does. The curent La Masia has a number of African boys. Time for England to ease up on some of the immigration laws for young professionals (MAY BE, I MAY BE WRONG)

On Guardiola, I like the guy, very well would like him to take over at the Arsenal…but with dud signings like Ibra, Chygryinski (sp.), Maxwell and a few others…mind you Xavi and them were already on the team…Ya think If we had Xavi, Imiesta, Messi on the team we won’t be winning? Hell yeah! And someone tried to point out that Wenger would probably play them out of position….again anything to show discontent about Wenger, i agree we should be upset, but make some damn sense…Iniesta’s preferred position is centrally, yet time and again he is shifted wide, Messi, a winger, shifted interior, Busquets and Masch as CB, OR aBIDAL AS A cb, Basically, good players can shift around and do well, so it’s bollocks when you try to use this a s a point to slate Wenger, after all, Henry was a winger.

  24. sixx pac

Goonerdna I agree but like I said our wages suck. Nasri should be on more money but he should in no way be paid more than Cesc or Robin. Fuck me the dude has had 4 good months in a 3 year career at Arsenal and he is a priority? Smh

  25. Tarquin Wetherby-Smythe

Hahahahahaha you dickhead. City have just won their first major trophy for 35 years and you have the audacity to say .. ‘join Chelsea or City who win things and pay you properly.

  26. BOOZY

Arsenal players who Should be having a last chance to prove their worth.

    Diaby (most especially)
    vela (maybe 2 more seasons)
    JET
    chamack
    gibbs (maybe 2 more seasons)

  27. Tarquin Wetherby-Smythe

‘Thank god Tarquin aint our manager.’

Indeed. You think I have the time or energy to mollycuddle a bunch of overpaid cunts who have no grip on an average fans’ reality?

  28. DaleDaGooner

gambon, you’re pretty gutless, Why are you running your brain here if you can do better as a coach or player in any football club? Calling a professional footballer “retard” is pretty low for a human being…and i mean continuously spewing the same insult, disregarding that people who are “mentally retarded” find the word insulting.

  29. Wenger the liar

“Get gooners in from other countries, the stadium will explode like a volcano”

Yeah cause you cant hear youself think when all the Japanese “gooners” put there £400 nikon cameras down to belt out the wonder of you on match days.

  30. sixx pac

Dale a manager is judged by much more than a few transfers. His tactics are superb and while you may think that he has 11 little geniuses on the field who are just sent out to play and need no instructions at all, that’s just not the case.

They didn’t press the ball like they do now under Rijkaard. Their set pieces are spectacular. That’s all down to coaching

  31. realistic tony

he is moving randall on as he keeps shooting from outside the box when he should be passing square. He is going to be replaced by a 7-stone 15yr old winger from tibet that has a french passport and stars in the albanian league.

  32. gambon

Anyone that uses the “henry was a winger” line knows very little about football, like most yanks.

  33. goonerDNA

Traquin, errr they finished above us have countless cash won a domestic cup they will win things, an FA cup is a trophy in my book which is winning things so I’M a dickhead because I love to fuck cunts up like you….you pussy hole.

  34. raynor

I’m not sure three new signings will do much for us retrospectively. Shitty, Manu and Cheslea, Liverpool and even the spuds will go and sign more. Unless we sign absolutely quality and keep our best players, we’ll go backwards next year.

Talk of Reo-Coker and Samba doesn’t really inspire me. Premiership proven but proven as bog average players. Better than what we have yes. Turning us title winning, dont be stupid.

  35. CallItKarma

Vela definitely should be given more time, we know he can do the business its just getting into a habit of it, i think he should be an impact sub this year in the way that theo was, i’d take him coming on over rosicky, bendtner or chamakh any day

  36. G STAR

ARSENAL SHOULD CONSIDER SIGNING ANY OF THE FOLLOWING STRIKERS

    Agbonlahor (Pace)
    Benzema Llorente (Aerial Threat)
    Aguero
    Ibrahimovic
    Eto
    Cavani
    Podolski
    Mario Gomez
    Gameiro

    OPINIONS ????????????

  37. DaleDaGooner

sixx, i agree with you, That’s why i said, i’d take Guardiola as a manager…Did you see that bit? BUT my point is, any manager would be very lucky to have that team and at least not win anything, Messi alone is worth 3 players.

  38. Wenger the liar

    LOL Gambon.

Youre just not a true fan Gambon not like these guys based in Lagos and Utah.

Gambon, you’re really gonna have to get in touch with the rest of society if you’re to retain any semblance of dignity.

I have two daughters aged 9 and 14 and they are disgusted if I use the word “retard”.

“Mong” is the current favourite but either syllable of “retard” ie “re” or ” tard” is acceptable.

If you’re a tad old-fashioned and insist on using “retard” then pronounce it “ritaard” like the fat dude in the movie “Hangover”.

Tim Vickery | 13:05 UK time, Monday, 30 May 2011
It is too soon to know where he is going to end up in the pantheon, but Lionel Messi’s performance on Saturday ensures beyond all doubt that he belongs among the all time greats.

Watching him scale the heights has given me particular pleasure because I had the good fortune to be there at the start of the journey, the moment when he first appeared before a mass public.

The event was the South American Under-20 Championships, staged in Colombia at the start of 2005.

Messi has shown he can flourish in European football. Photo: Getty
Messi had already been with Barcelona for four years, had played one friendly in the first team and there were rumours that he might be something special. But he was barely known in Argentina, who called him up with the aim of having a look at him – he was, for example, not given the symbolic number 10 shirt.

He looked unimpressive as he took the field, small, pale and shambling. But as soon as he was on the ball all of us there knew we were witnessing something special.

He was only 17, a couple of years younger than almost everyone else, and he found the competition’s gruelling calendar hard going.

But the talent was unmistakable. As Diego Maradona commented, Messi’s close control is so abnormally good that he can run with the ball while watching TV – he has now reached a level where could probably change the channels as well.

As well as his slalom dribbles, back in 2005 Messi was already showcasing his ability to cut in on the diagonal, exchanging beautifully weighted give-and-go passes. He looked like a sure fit for global stardom.

But there are always causes for concern, forks in the road where potential can go astray.

I well recall being in Paraguay for the 1999 Copa America when 16-year-old Jhonnier Montano scored a cracking goal against Argentina. He was so full of talent, and cut such a composed figure in the post-match media conference, that he gave the impression of being another dead cert.

But it never happened for him. After a spell in Turkey he is now heading back to Peru, the country where he has enjoyed a touch of success in recent years.

It is better than nothing, but measured against his promise, it is as if his career has turned into a line from “Do You Know the Way to San Jose?” – the one about “all the stars who never were [who] are parking cars and pumping gas.”

Clearly, part of Montano’s problem was the premature move to Europe. Parma bought him, then loaned him here and loaned him there. The clubs who took him were fighting against relegation and had no stake in his development, so opportunities were few and momentum became non existent. His weight ballooned, his mind wandered and he fell by the wayside.

This, then, was my fear for Messi back in 2005 – that being at Barcelona might make it hard for him to get a regular game. I need not have worried. Before the end of the year he was a household name.

In fact, moving across the Atlantic so early almost certainly proved to be an advantage in his case. He went through the entire process of adolescence in Barcelona. It was where he developed as a man and as a team player.

But his footballing identity, his skill in one-against-one situations – this had already been formed in Rosario. Messi, then, has developed into a perfect synthesis of the Argentine kick-about and the Barcelona academy.

Those South Americans who make the move a few years later, like Montano, face added risks. Eighteen, for example, is a time of changes – especially for footballers, who in behavioural terms tend to go through adolescence later then their contemporaries.

It is a time of life that can be disorientating enough, without the added complication of experiencing it in a foreign culture. Throw in the difficulties of adapting to a different type of football, and it is little wonder that there are casualties.

But the road to the top is always rocky, no matter what path is chosen. Staying at home a few extra years has its advantages, but also its potential pitfalls. There are first-team opportunities in a familiar environment – the flipside of the coin is the relative ease with which premature reputations can be constructed.

It is just over two years since I first saw Neymar in the flesh. Recently turned 17, he came off the bench for the last few minutes with his Santos team leading Fluminense 2-1. By the end it was 4-1.

He set one up with a gorgeous, defence-splitting pass, and the other came from a rebound after the keeper failed to hold his shot. In between the two, his dribbling skills forced a red card for the Fluminense right back. It was a sensational seven minutes. Before long he was being proclaimed as a phenomenon and there were calls for his inclusion in last year’s World Cup squad.

The problem here is that domestic Brazilian football dances to its own beat. The defensive lines play deep, so there is space on the field. Today’s referees will give fouls for anything and diving is tolerated – a scenario which fills the dribbler with confidence. Take him out of the protective bubble and it can be a different story – Robinho is a perfect example, a player whose fighting spirit seems to shrink in front of your eyes when he does not get the fouls he used to be awarded in Brazil.

The problem here is that Neymar is a child of the contemporary criteria of Brazilian referees, a fruit of the poisoned tree. I have never seen a player who dives so often and so theatrically. This is clearly an impediment in his quest to reach the level of play that Lionel Messi showed on Saturday, and there is another one.

Neymar still has work to do on his game. Photo: Reuters
The Boy Prince of the Brazilian game, there is something of the spoilt brat about Neymar. He can scream and shout when he does not get his way, and also lose his focus. Against Argentina, in the big game of the recent South American Under-20 Championships, he was too busy diving and arguing to play much football.

But this is a work in progress. The current Copa Libertadores campaign could go down as the moment when the boy prince shows that he is prepared to become king.

This week Santos hope to book their place in the final. In the last few games Neymar has shown less petulance, done less diving and played some wonderful stuff – gliding past his marker on either side, showing vision and intelligence plus his trademark cool finishing.

He is a special talent. The tests are going to get tougher as he moves up, but his journey will be well worth following. If everything falls into place, if he can keep learning and adapting, then he might be able to shine on the stage that Lionel Messi lit up on Saturday.

  49. BOOZY

raynor – the reason we talk of players like reo coker and samba, is cuz we’ve fine tuned our thinking with the reality in arsenal.

chelsea fans talk about players like aguero, neymar, felianni as realistic signings

united fans talk about players schneider, young, benzema, rodwell as realistic signings

city- talk about messi as a possible signing

at the arsenal we are also realistic .

    Pretty ignorant comment….

Mine or yours? You suggest that foreign supporters would create a better atmosphere and show more passion than local supporters. Well I don’t see a problem with atmosphere and passion at clubs like Stoke, WBA, Newcastle, West Ham, Wolves, Man City and dare I add Spurs, probably because they have mainly local based fans. Our problem from what I have heard seems to be too many tourist supporters from overseas and home based, a bit like Old Trafford.

I do not go anymore as I left the country in 2006 and cannot afford to travel to the games, plus my disability put a stop to any thought of going. My brother is still a season ticket holder and he says it is like going to the theatre or the opera (not like his ever been to either) where you are frowned upon if you even dare to fart out loud. Certain so called glamour clubs have attracted a new breed of customer, I won’t call them fans because they ain’t they are attracted by the glitz and glamour and want to be seen at a club that plays in the big competitions and they will move on to someone else if Arsenal slip out of the top 4. He has told me of some people he spoke to who gave him grief because he was jumping like a lunatic at one game after we had scored, he was told by certain people that “surely a round of gentle applause is enough”, his reaction is unprintable and I would have done the same.

He was a one hit wonder, but “Rock Me Amadeus” was quite catchy!!!

  59. CallItKarma

Agreed on Neymar, Class player ruined by theatrics and diving, if that could get drilled out of him i’d love him, as it stands though would rather have Falcao and Hazard

  60. Tommi Gooner

Evening boys.. hope you’re enjoying the bank holiday.. it’s f*cking pissing it down in North London so I’m playing PES..

Any road up – this isn’t a criticism just an observation Le Grove boys.. “the whole team get back and defend, there are so many things you can learn from their set up, but first of all you can’t have any weak links, and we have a few.”

Yup one being Arshavin.. I have no idea why you boys favour him so much. Everyone has a ‘club favourite’ but him I have no idea, whether it’s Pedro or Geoff who thinks he’s the nuts. Apart from his goals against Liverpool, the thunderbolt against Manure last season and his goal against Barca in the CL this year – I can’t think of anything he’s really done. Obviously you can bring up stats but I’ll tell you this I work in advertising so you can make even the most unpopular item seem like the latest ‘must have’. Also do you know that 38% of stats are made up?

  61. DaleDaGooner

1886-2006, Arsenal has grown more than being a locally supported club, and If you are well traveled sir, you’d know that the Emirates patron’s are “Anyone looking for a day out” and that includes your locals. The people who choose to support Arsenal outside of North London are as die hard as you sir.

  62. BOOZY

A&N they aren’t on the same level.

but funny is- sinclair a winger now plays as a forward.

while walcott a striker now plays as a winger.

  63. Patthegooner

DDM there wasn’t a welsh league so both Cardiff and Swansea joined an English league.

Trust me, I’m English but live in Swansea, and it will be a great away day next season. Swansea is a great night out and friendly.

  64. zeus

Atletico Madrid are ready to sell Sergio Aguero but only if £39m release fee is met – president Enrique Cerezo.

  65. zeus

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has warned interested clubs they will have to pay at least £39 million in cash for Sergio Aguero.

  66. Santos

Forget the Benzemas and Agueros! They won’t come to us. Podolski would be good, if we sell Vela. He is now mature, can also play as a wing forward. He loves to shoot on sight too. His regression has been self-inflicted, methinks, because he was one of the best players in Germany between 2006-2008,was the best youngster in the 2006 world cup too. He could make a bold step by leaving Cologne FC to join a big team. We can have hiM. He costs nothing. Imagine him and Lloente or Eto’o!

Totally agree, I’m not saying there are not die-hard fans outside of the area, what I am saying is that there is a divide growing in football of the celebrity club and the local club. And it is no surprise to me that the best atmosphere seems to be at the clubs who have a strong local support in the ground and are not in it just for the glory or glamour. I do not doubt that you are a passionate fan who bleeds Arsenal neither do I think that fans from overseas cannot have that same passion for the club as we all do.

Neither do I believe that being more than a locally supported club makes a difference. Look at Barca, Madrid, Milan AC and Inter, Bayern and the likes, they are massively supported worldwide but they all have a common theme. They are not pricing the genuine football fans out of the game and they make sure that the fans feel a part of the club and not just a paying customer.

  68. DaleDaGooner

1886-2006, agreed sir, but surely that’s the Arsenal board killing the support in all ways possible. Greed of the Pounds Sterling at the expense of global greatness.

  69. Wenger the liar

    1886

Even if there were no glory hunters in the ground the stadium still wouldnt be as noisy as Stoke etc. The reason these places are noisy is because of the fact they are located in places like stoke, where the people have very little else to do and Saturday they sing their little hearts out before going home to fuck the cousin.

This is London the greatest City on the planet, were spoilt. If the biggest talking point in London was a motorway that ran through it or the KFC that just opened then we would be louder.

    IMHO

  70. zeus

“There is a mutual interest between me and Real Madrid. However, it is up to the clubs to reach an agreement over a transfer fee,” Coentrao was quoted as saying by Marca. “I can only hope that my dream of playing for Real Madrid will become reality.”
    ***************

Marcelo relegatedto the bench. If Mourinho gets all these players in and still plays anti football v Barca then he should be crucified.

  71. Patthegooner

Serious own goal in that FIFA press conference today, I get an even stronger impression that they are corrupt….

They are a disgrace and something needs to happen

  72. 1886-2006

Spot on there Dale, the problem with running any sports club as a business means you have to be successful a majority of the time because when the glamour leaves then the money is not far behind. This will leave a broken club that is heavily indebted and almost impossible to salvage.

This is why the top 4 of the last decade, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manu and chelski have done all they can to make sure they are always top of the tree (including backing the UEFA fair play rules vigourously), unfortunately for us and the other 3 the UEFA fair play rules have come about too late and now we see a new kid on the block a’la Man City. We are probably better placed to cope at the moment with a season or two outside of the top 4, but that can all change if we did not qualify for more than a couple of seasons. After all, who wants to back a 2nd tier club? And that is what non CL clubs are seen as.

WTL: Agree, Stoke is a shit hole.

  73. Samir

Apparently Arsene put a bid in of 6M for Samba :L
What an absolute idiot Wenger is…We’re not Luton Town…What’s with these stupid offers!

  74. Patthegooner

Samir, I think it is a good signing.

Can’t see them accepting that though

I am surprised there aren’t other clubs in for him

  75. OPG

Who knows who’s interested in the players we want, by the time they might have gone to another club..
I think Wenger has been on holiday so some decisions might be made once he’s back.

  76. Samir

I think it’s a good signing aswell! But it’s more of the Wenger pissing about…How many times do we miss out on players because of this haggling over a few million! United put in decent offers and get their man, we piss around!

And it was all over twitter earlier kingsley :)

  77. MARK GOONER

    sad day for the club

    mark randall has left

hope he spends the 1 million pounds of our money that he earned in his last arsenal contract wisely

  78. kingsley

cool, i agree its stinks of him being cheap. dont think he’s on holiday….he was at champ league final on sat.

  79. OPG

Twitter heh, I suppose you have media people like John Cross saying we could get Hazard for £12m and that we want Falcao.
People are desperate, still a long way to go..

I know where you’re coming from mate. It’s pretty fucking depressing isn’t it…

  81. MARK GOONER

samir unless that is your name i suggest that you use a new name on legrove

    nasri is gone

lets just hope hazrad is the replacement

  82. CallItKarma

Gooby i do think we are interested in De Rossi as the name pops up too often, but at the same time i would be suprised if we did end up signing him.. would love it though

  83. Samir

    @MARK GOONER
That is my real name mate ;) If Nasri leaves though…I might have to settle for the boring…”Sam” ;)

  84. Samir

There was some news on Twitter earlier…About a De Rossi – Clichy swap deal :L
    Bullshit I think!

  85. Patthegooner

It is on twitter gooby clichy for de Rossi is the rumours

Apparently he has been puled out of Italy squad too

    Think it is bullshit myself

  86. Arsene Nose Best

well unless wenger spends i wouldn’t get to happy,it’s bound to happen one year, and after the debacle of the end to this season there’s no reason to be so confident.

  87. Gooby

well they are probably making up stories based on the clichy link, i won’t hurt myself anymore in believing them

  88. MARK GOONER

we should not be held to ransom by a guy who has more then often gone missing in games when needed like nasri

    sell him sign hazard
sell bendtner and chamakah and vela and sign 2 strikers one being world class
sell squilaci and sign world class centre half
sell clichy and do the same (LB)
sell denilson diaby rosicky and sign a beast of a midfielder
sell almunia and fabianski and buy a good keeper with experience as competition for schezney

all should be done and could be

but us being the stingy cunts we are we will be doing our shopping in Lidl yet again when we are in need of M&S quality

  89. Arsene Nose Best

there’s to much of this sign hazard business,he’s the answer, the guy would get bullied in the prem,he’d be no different to nasri on a cold night in stoke..

  90. gambon

    De Rossi would be immense.

De Rossi, Izaguirre, Cahill, Hazard & Benzema would earn Arsene my everlasting love.

  91. Arse&Nose©

gambon, I have but he wouldn’t have made a difference against the likes of Stoke. We don’t need another ‘mr.anonymous skilful midget with great potential’, we already have too many of them.

  92. Rohan

The de Rossi link is absolutely fantastic. Have rated him for ages. At the right club, with the right people around and behind him, he can be the best DM in the world imo.

  93. Rohan

    How good is Izaguirre?
From what I have seen, which isn’t much admittedly, I don’t think he’s too much if at all an improvement over Gael.

  94. Charan

Sell : Denilson, Bendtner, Vela, Arshavin, Roscisky, Almunia, Squilachi, for 30m or more.

Buy: Jagielka/ Cahill-Both would be wonderful
    Parker/M diarra – cheapest available.

That will be a gud team for the league with some cover signings.

But for champions league we Need Chiellini,De rossi and world class winger in place of walcott

  95. Tommi Gooner

Reports on Twitter about incoming players.. f*ck me? Are you sh*tting me? F*ck me there’s some desperate people out there. So you believe that? Tell you what give me your credit card number, the security pin and I will tell you exactly when the transfers will go through.
