Please don’t sign someone called Kevin, but someone called Carol will do very nicely Arsene!

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Yesterday was a post born out of years of frustration, today is one born more from hope and expectation. Rumours that we are back in to Leyton Orient for Kevin Gameiro and some freebie have to be wide of the mark, even our manager wouldn’t be so daft as to not learn from his bargain basement failure buys from the French leagues, surely not?

However the Karim Benzema stories will not go away, getting him would be perfect, he is just what we need, another Thierry henry for me and at a good price.

If we sell some of the deadwood I mentioned yesterday we could pay for him with what we raise, smart business, add to that a centreback and a solid DM with wingers Hazard or Young and I think we could win the league.

As we could have this season had he done this last!

Someone suggested I was crying out for Chezzer yesteday and moaned when he and Koscielny screwed up at Wembley, true I did, but I was crying out for Chezzer as opposed to playing either of the other two, I still like him a lot, what this guy failed to mention is I said I would sooner watch Chezzer making mistakes than Almunia or Fabianski, the same holds true now, but you can’t get away from the fact he did screw up at the cup final, me, I would keep him in goal because I beleive he will become the best keeper of his generation, so I’m not looking for a keeper. Keep Chezzer between the sticks.

What is clear is we do need players in the above spots and if Clichy is holding back then sell him and get in a left back that can defend, in the Winterburn and Sansom mould, not in the flying Clichy one, let’s get back to defending.

Verthongen would be another useful signing but I still believe we need a monster at the back to partner Vermaelen, with Kozzer and Djourou as back ups.

Another rumour is we are looking to bring back Paddy as a coach, perfect Arsene if it’s true, he is a leader and would make sure this team went out like warriors.

Usmanov buying up shares is about as useful as a Ryan Giggs injunction, what’s the point? However, I do like the fact that the message he’s sending out is Kroenke won’t have it all his own way, well done that man!

I was thinking about our young DM’s and who could fill that spot if we don’t buy Mascerano (yes my choice), we have Coquelin and Frimpong, both I rate but Coquelin is more the Makelele type for me, we also have Ramsey and Lansbury, now I’m not sure whether or not they are DM’s but they would both battle more than what we have and both are more talented, so maybe we could get away with them for competition to Song, allowing us to spend big on a winger, a centre back and Benzema, what is key though is we keep Nasri.

If Cesc wants out then let him go but replace him with the money, maybe a German Sweinsteiger, Ozil or even bald Wesley from Milan, and talking of him we could do a swap for Song. (I know they don’t play in the same positions)

If we had some of the above they would be young, keeping in with Wenger’s obsession, ball players and mobile so we would still have the bits that the manager demands, with the bits the fans demand, and someone like Paddy to kick their arses into shape, who knows, I may even get my season tickets back!

Have a great day Grovers, I have a feeling we’ll be doing some early doors horse trading, and this time we can really take steps to improve our team for the first time since 2004.

Benzema every time, Im sure he’ll do well in the prem. In regards to Falcao all the Latin players dream of Madrid and barca…so it’s a no brained for me

  2. Iceman10

I would settle for Benzema even though Higuain is the type of striker we need but no way they wud sell him

  3. wellington

chelsea will confirm hiddink next week ive heard

sid lowes benzema quotes have got my hopes up

    stupid i know

  4. Dutchman

    wellington, sid lowes quotes???
    Which one?

Hiddink is a great coach! I’m scared if we have to play them. He can make chelsea CL winners. Mark my words! He has an eye for a transfer and his tactics are perfect.

  5. Santos

    SUGA3
Those Barca idiots have no manners. I wonder why we allowed them to use the training facilities. I don’t want us to be friends with them. Are we not supposed to be rivals? Only Guardiola, Messi and Iniesta have class over there.

  6. Arse&Nose©

Arsenal fans have become so desperate that we’ve crashed TalkShite’s website because someone said Benzema was ‘possible’

  7. Arsene Nose Best

the only way benzema will come to arsenal.is to play against us,that’s it…move on,wenger doesn’t want to spend,he’s happy with the way things are.

  8. Dutchman

    WHAT DID SID LOWE SAY?

A&N, so fucking frustrating that fans are moaning about us not buying good players. We made bids for alonso and reina too. We have the money, so… It can happen. Why dod you think, it won’t happen. It is possible because we have the money and benzema wont play much at real.

  9. sixx pac

All Sid Lowe said is that Aguero is going to Chelsea and that Benzema to Arsenal is “possible”. Lol you guys are so desperate

  10. Arse&Nose©

I don’t know what they said, because the site is playing up! Arsenal related Twitter feeds saying Benzema is ‘possible’ and that Aguero is coming to Chelsea.

  11. MARK GOONER

I just saw nasri in tinsel town in hampstead and asked him if he is gona stay or join united and he said to me he “i dont know yet, maybe”

  12. MARK GOONER

    straight up
about an hour ago he was with 2 of his pals

i only had a few seconds as he was on his way out as i was going in

  13. Dutchman

If nasri doesn’t even now that he wants to be here. Then fuck off! I want players here who give a fuck about arsenal. Fuck nasri, i didn’t expect this from him! Why the fuck is he doing such a thing. He is happy here and he had a good season. But because he was good in the first-half of the season, he thinks that he is the best players in the world. So fabregas and nasri leaving. And we will buy bramble and alvarez. WTF. This summer will be worse then all other summers. If arsenal really let all their stars go and doesn’t replace them with much needed quelity then i don’t want to follow them anymore. I will follow them, but i will do my best not to follow them . That for me, would show the ambition arsenal has at the moment.

  14. MARK GOONER

he can go for all i care

he has gone missing far to often and for the first 2 years was average as he was the 2nd half of this season

  15. Arse&Nose©

Mark Gooner is very likely to be telling the truth because of the place he named, the location and the time of the meeting.

  16. Arse&Nose©

You know if Nasri goes to Man Utd he will be twice the player he is at Arsenal because he wont be allowed to piss about, it will be all about efficiency.

  17. Dutchman

If he doesn’t know it yet. Then he will leave. How the fuck doesn’t he know it, he has to sign in a month. Fack this, all our best players are leaving.
This club is a DISGRACE. We can’t even hold on to our best players. This was really bad management. We had to give nasri a new contract last year. Fack this club. We give denilson, bendtner and vela new contract but nasri…. What a shit fucking club. We won’t win anything again. Our ambition is fourth and if we finish 6th then it would be good for wenger too. He doesn’t care, the club doesn’t care. It’s a money making project. How can you win something if nasri, fabregas, arshavin, clichy are all going to leave and you know that we won’t replace them with quality players..??? Disgrace!

  18. Arse&Nose©

If Athletico can say no to their rivals Real Madrid, then Arsenal should be big enough to say no to Man Utd. No way should we let the fat ponce go there, if we sell him let him go to a team like Inter.

  19. Dutchman

A&N, if we say no ,then he will play next year for them. On a facking free! We really need hazard, benzema, izaguirre and gotze if we want to replace those four players!

  20. sixx pac

As I’ve been saying in my posts since Monday, it seems that a majority of Arsenal fans are willing to turn a blind eye to the Nasri contract situation. And don’t say oh we don’t really know why he hasn’t signed on yet. Its obvious that he wants more money. As I said, I can respect Cesc asking to leave because the club won’t match his footballing ambitions but Nasri wanting to leave for more money is just disgraceful. 4 good months in 3 season and he wants to be the highest paid? Fuck off

  21. MARK GOONER

the guy is waiting till we get desperate and give him what cesc is earning so when cesc leaves that will make nasri our highest earner and joint highest in our great history

i know times change and inflation etc..

but the thought makes me hope he does fuck off

  22. Santos

He won’t join Man Utd. If Wenger is ambitious and ruthless, he has to let go of these players who have no respect for the Cannon, we are the Arsenal!! No player is bigger than this club. If we get 40 million from the Cesc transfer fee and 30 million from the Nasri transfer fee, we may go on a shopping spree, but read my second sentence! It depends on that.

Even if I were to miss a player amongst the duo, it would be Cesc. His assists ,goals and performances speak volumes. Nasri is just a mercenary.

Now even the French contingent in Arsenal do not want to play for Wenger anymore. Does anybody think Benzema wants to really join us?

  23. Arse&Nose©

Dutchman, if we are a big club we should set an example and stick nasri into the reserves for a year. He’ll probably put on more weight and no one will want to touch him.

  24. MARK GOONER

i said ice was gibbs for an obvious wind up
have u read that guys posts

and the denilson thing i was told by a premier league football clubs press officer

sorry for trying to break some good news to some fellow gooners incesc

  25. youdaman

If Benzema is so good how comes he does not get a look in for France and big Ade who is really average was ahead of him at real? Is he really that good? What has he done in the last few seasons. Being good in the French League can be deceptive

  26. Arse&Nose©

Mark, your comments just confirm what most fans have suspected for a long time about Nasri. He is a mercenary.

  27. MARK GOONER

    benzema record this season

    32 starts 26 goals and 9 assists

he is fast, direct and can strike a ball

good age, good pedigree, available and affordable

    but under wengers regeim unlikely

  28. Big Dave

Not sure about this Falcaou story from his agent, think the agent is just trying to get a better deal from his club for the player

  29. BillikenGooner

We’ll be told in September or October that we made an 12mil bid for Benzema, but since the market is inflated, we wouldn’t go higher.

  30. Patthegooner

    Big Dave

I agree mate. Sounds like agent talk. Just like the Alvarez story. All about getting a better deal

  31. DaleDaGooner

Nasri aint going to Man U, FACT, he may leave, but not to ManU….I aint gonna lose sleep on Nasri leaving, Hazard will definitely replace him then. Remember we lost Hleb and got Nasri? And worse case scenario, Ryo will be lined up to replace him…I have faith in Ryodinho…what ever happened to Wellington Silva?

  32. Patthegooner

Although don’t agree with you on Nasri and Cesc

I can see those two and clichy going. Arsene won’t like it, but he will be left with little choice.

And to see his Golden Boys wanting out, maybe it’s the slap in the chops he needs and maybe just maybe his loyalty and priorities will be back towards the good of the club rather than the careers of his players

  33. Keyser

See that sums it up for me, players have all the power, I honestly don’t get how people either wilfully choose to ignore that or are oblivious to it.

When Ljungberg left us for West Ham, he supposedly got a payrise, average players like Barry or Milner get paid what our captain and the best midfielder in the league gets paid and we’re still wondering why we can’t match them.

Look at Hazard, he’s got his agent out there pimping him across the continent, or Benzema, why would he leave a Club like Madrid, where he gets paid more and with less tax to come over here.

We need to keep as many of these players as we can, Nasri’s spent 3 years here now and he’s fianlly starting to show the production that cam with all the name-tags people were trying to line him up with.

  34. incesc

    fucking hell

if a mug like dale says nasri isnt going to man u “fact” its more than likely gonna happen
    :)

  35. Gooner786

If Nasri joins UTD then I will never forgive him and Wenger.

FIGHT GREED, FIGHT FOR ARSENAL, FIGHT WENGER

  36. Keyser

incesc – Yeah, but then all we need is a mug like you to say the opposite, and it’ll cancel out.

Do it for the greater good.

  37. incesc

    GOOGLE

786 is meant to be the number of ‘bismillahirahmaniraheem (In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful – which is the first verse of the Quraan)

In arabic, each letter has a number
    alif -1
    bee 2
    etc

if you add the numbers up, for bismillah in arabic, you get 786.
That is where the number came from.

    SEE?

  38. Dutchman

Another big fault from wenger is that we have a maximum wage. Thats bullshit. The future of arsenal is nothing if they dont see that it is all about the money. This club is stubborn as hell. How the fuck does no one at arsenal see that we need to spend more to compete on wages and transfers .

  39. kev

i have a feeling well do jack shit in the transfer window. were being linked with everybody and anybody its just paper talk. wenger isnt gonna blow 20+ million on benzema – hell be lucky to spend that in the entire window. ill happily eat my hat if im proved wrong but i just cant see it.

today we nabbed another couple of youths from barca and added to that jenkinson lad its more like the business im expecting done – typical arsene.

  40. phv

Why are we selling Clichy now ? We can not have players at our club from 18-19 years old to 25 years old and then sell them.We should keep a player like Clichy at our club from 25 years old to 31 years old. Otherwise, people will start to think that we are a feeder club (or a training centre like Evra said).

  41. Munitionsman

We will win nothing more under wenger. It’s Monaco mkII (copyright respects highbury, gunnerblog legend)

  42. Marko

While I’d prefer Benzema to Gameiro or Gervinho I don’t think anyone should dismiss them as shite. Gameiro scored 20 goals this season playing for a pants team and Gervinho is a very impressive player too.

  43. Gooby

don’t get the myth that wenger was installing project youth at monaco, it’s rubbish:

won the league in 88 came 3rd in 89, 90 second in 91 and 92
made it to 3 cup finals winning one of them in 1991
not to mention he was signing high profile players back then like george weah, glenn hoddle, klinsman and djorkaeff.

that’s one of the brightest era in monaco’s history if not the best one. As they reached European cup last stages for the first time.

  44. sixx pac

Well you guys will not believe this but our new Barcelona recruit Hector Bellerin has already declared he wants to return to Barcelona at some point.

Bellerín: “You never close the door. Barça is a great team. I hope to win titles in years to come, and well, one day, return to this club.”

  45. El tel

After reading some earlier comments I would like to add mine regarding a new striker.

For me it has to be Falcao.

I saw him score the winner in the Europa final last week and I have just watched you tube clips.

He scores with both feet, his movement is sublime, he is very brave and he is probably the best at heading the ball in the World at the moment. He scores long rangers and tap Ins. He gets inbetween CBs and looks like he isn’t scared to take a kicking.

Benzema may be a good second choice but Falcao for me would be fantastic

I am not having it that Porto play in a shit League as I also saw clips of him playing in a south American team.

If we get this Man we could win a trophy next year and he would cost fuck all if we sell three of the deadwood players. Bendtner,Clichy and Denilson.

I also reckon Arshavins assists will double with Falcao on the end of his crosses and flicks.

Come on Wenger just do it.

If Nasri wants to go then replace him with Hazard or Ribery or Goetze.

If Cesc wants out let’s ask for Nascherano, as part of the deal.
