I watched Neymar tear Scotland a new bottom, I’ve watched Hazard do likewise in France and I saw what the German midfielder Shweinsteiger did in the world cup, add Sakho or Mertesacker to that and we will take the league by storm, that’s 4 in, what would we need to sell, well Denilson, Bendtner, Rosicky, Squillaci and Almunia would go some way toward it, add what we have and we could land them, why wait, their price will just go up, add Cesc to that list and we could pay off some of our debt.
Not even mentioning the 10 or so kids we could let go that will never make it.
I would like to sign a few players that can make a difference now, not another 17 year old that has potential and may well end up disappointing us in 4 years like Carlos Vela, Fran Merida and so on.
I think with Coquelin, Lansbury and Frimpong we have enough to make Alex Song stay uninjured so if we brought in the above I couldn’t see anyone stopping us.
ManU are after my old target Schneider, the Chavs have spent all they are going to spend, Man City have too many, Madrid ditto, Barca have no money and what they do have is earmarked for Cesc, so for me we should get busy before the spuds go and spoil our party, because a few choice signings from them and our spot is under threat.
If we signed them next season and offloaded the rubbish, I may even renew, trouble is we won’t do that before the end of the season and by then it will be too late to renew, chicken and egg, but I won’t be suckered for 6 years on the trot.
Neymar and Hazard will only get better and would fit nicely into our ball playing team, Arsene, get your scouts making noises now before we lose the chance to make a difference and dominate, with them we really could.

Wenger has been linked with every kid with wc potential. Wc potenntial and playing in the epl are two different things.Pennant/Upson/Senderos/etc. I know Wenger got lucky with Veira and Anelka.You have to be realistic.You can’t be unearthing gem all the time as the competition for kids heats up.
Wenger should not go for kids 100%.He should get some ready to play epl guys. These fellows having played in arguably the toughet league in the world,will at least be ready for it unlike those with wc potential.
There are many of these kids who have fallen by the wayide eg Senderos,Pennant,Aladiere,etc.
Hopefully by the beginning of next season we won’t have so many kid in the first 11.

Guys, there are just two players who are surely going to make it at arsenal ( from the youth). That is miyaichi and bartley. Players like coquelin,frimpong and afobe are not there yet. You don’t know it about them. Jamie Sanderson says that Aneke is going to make it for sure too, but you don’t know that either.
Miyaichi is just 18 and is the best players from the dutch league. And Bartley is the real deal. What a defender! But Miyaichi will learn quick and turn into a great player for us. I think that in everything that he is not that good he will learn. And when he get his work permit, he can nutmeg the likes of terry

You always know it’s a Geoff post cause of the transfers/championship manager rant. Realistic targets this summer include Stekelenburg (last year of deal), Verthongan/Sahko/Mertesacker (seemingly fed up at their respective clubs and want a change), Matuidi (cause we’ve been linked for like forever) and Gameiro (cause Bendtner will be off in the summer). Also Hazard cause Arshavin will be off in the summer cause we wont offer him a new deal and he’ll need replacing. Thats not to say we’ll sign all them but I’d be surprised if we didn’t at the very least see Hazard and one of them defenders join the club in the summer and see Bendtner, Almunia and Denilson at the very least leave too.
Stekelenburg is not all that, I would say he is not an improvement over Szczesny, hence it’s a non starter (now, you can bet your house that AW will do it, because it makes no sense), the three defenders you suggest are either left footed or not suited to the Prem, i.e. too slow (would consider Vertonghen due to his versatility tho), Matuidi I would consider…

And also that list of defenders I done are probably the most realistically looked at defenders by us that will probably be available and with Djourou and Koscielny being right footed then it would make sense to sign a lefty in Verthongan or Sahko (good with his right though and plays on the right of defense). Also Mertesacker is a righty.

For a start there is no defensive midfielder and Schweinsteiger isn’t one and that’s why he plays with Luiz Gustavo for Bayern and Khedira for Germany! The best teams would exploit that and it shows how well we have done recently without Song that even the lower teams could exploit it.
Also Neymar isn’t a central striker ATM. Yes he’s an unbelievable talent and could well turn out to be a CF in the future but not now up against the likes of Vidic, Terry etc.

My penny’s worth on potential summer movement and signings:
I can’t see us signing a young goalkeeper. I think we will go for an old, experience head like Buffon. He won’t be expensive, and he won’t kill chesney either. in fact, chesney couldn’t learn from anyone better. I reckon Buffon will replace Almunia.
As for CD, I think we will make one signing. Prob Mertesacker as he is going cheap. not sure it’s the right signing, but then it won’t cost too much and he IS experienced…and hopefully we will have Vermaelen back next season. Squillachi to leave.
In the middle, I think Fab and Denilson will go, which leave space for Ramsay and Wilshire to step up. I don’t think we will sign a CM, unfortunately, niot even to cover Song. though IMO, we need to.
Up front, who knows? Bendtner will be sold if Bayern offer over 10m. This could be where the bulk of any transfer fee goes, and could be exciting for us. VP will play 20 games max, Chamakh is an impact sub and Bendtner a waste of time. We really need to strengthen here, and actually we will put a striker direct for the first team, I think, which could make it a high profile player…
OR, alternatively, we will do fuck all as usual and then cry and bleat about how expensive players are, while we accept 40m for Fabregas and rely on youth again.
