Arsenal taking over England | The truth about Cesc | Don’t listen JACK!

by & filed under Uncategorized.

I’ve gotta say that I’m not a massive fan of our lack of 3 o’clock kick offs during the season. I appreciate Sky and the other digital channels like to see us on the box, but it’s half a ball ache to get to game that has an odd kick off time. What happened to a good old-fashioned 1500 kick off?

Fabio Capello announced a very strange England squad yesterday. It was the first name call in a while that actually included more Arsenal players than our West London rivals. That was a big plus point! It also contained ex-Arsenal brat, Jay Bothroyd and West Ham super keeper Rob Green.

I listened to Fabio Capello talk about the poor off field behaviour of Andy Carroll. His suggestion? That the young player comes into the England fold and learns off the senior players! Yep, back of a cab Crouch, anyone’s wife Terry, hairdresser shagger Cole, group sex video supremo Rio Ferdinand… all superb role models for the players of tomorrow!

My advice Jack? Don’t pay any attention to their advice, do your own thing!

I saw half a Ballague story on his site that linked into a pay wall with the times. He’s claiming to have the inside line on the Cesc story and what was said didn’t really add up with what I heard and hopefully you now know we hear some good stuff.

  1. Barca launched a campaign to unsettle Cesc
  2. Cesc spoke to Wenger in that meeting and said he’d like to go.
  3. Barca came in with a pathetic offer.
  4. Wenger told Barca they wouldn’t get him under any circumstances, he wouldn’t even come to the table to negotiate.
  5. Cesc came back and Wenger told him that Barca had made a mockery of him by signing a 29 year old striker ahead of him and completely undervaluing him.
  6. End of story, Cesc is still here and we all know the truth… Barca completely disrespected Cesc by undervaluing his talent and Arsenal’s resolve to keep him.
  7. Oh, did I mention they are 470million euro’s in debt? Doubtful they’ll be able to afford him this summer as well.

Yesterdays games threw up a great result in the United-Villa game. Somehow United managed to escape with a draw despite Villa hammering them for large parts of the game. Liverpool’s resurgence ended with a diabolical 2-0 loss against Stoke!

Oh, I forgot to mention that Manchester City could only manage a draw again! Ooops!

That means 2nd place is up for grabs again, which is pretty exciting!

Fabianski

Sagna Squillaci JD Clichy

Wilshere Song Cesc

Nasri Chamakh Arshavin

That’s how I see the team lining up today. Hopefully we can control the game possession wise and avoid any shaky backline shenanigans. We’ve got to impose out game on Everton and take control earlier. We’ve got to be ruthless in front of goal and head into the international mini break on a high note. I don’t think Everton have enough to trouble us, but they’ll no doubt be hustling the keeper all day and with our defensive record, it wouldn’t surprise me if we conceded!

Not long to go now, come on you GOONERS!

Don’t forget to follow us on twitter @arsenal_legrove , you’ll read all the goss as we hear it! You could also show your liking for the site in our exciting facebook page!

The trick it seems to me is stop Chelsea’s full backs ,Mourinho did it so well last year .We need to change our style of play for this one match only if we want to beat them .They lack ball players all are box to box midfielders.

  2. choy

JW was off his game today.

If it were someone else, he would’ve been getting slagged off here!

Anyways… great facking weekend.. Just 2 points from the top!!! Woooohoo

  3. Kushagra India

    A
I would say decent saves not world class and he still looks nervy to me on crosses but fair play to him,Gr8 Job,I hope he can continue the improvement

  4. zeus

    Gooby

Hazard has started to get playing time again has he? He got too big for his boots last I heard and was benched a lot.

  5. Limestonegunner

Fabianski had one mistake on a cross today too. Lucky that the ball bounced of the post, but Fabby was stretching back and flapping at the ball. It didn’t cost us anything. Overall however he was excellent and made several wonderful saves.

I think his form has been good. Let’s see how he does through December before any decision is needed.

  6. Pedro

Mayank, it won’t be good enough.

He played well today, but we all saw him flap at the back post again. It didn’t cost us today, but no doubt he’ll fuck up again shortly.

    He’s not Arsenal standard.

I guess the difference between him and Almunia is at least he has the world class saves in him and I think his distribution is far better.

  7. Pedro

Someone on twitter said they heard the commentator say Wenger reckons he’s putting Almunia back in goal when he is fit!

    Surely not?

  8. Limestonegunner

Choy, I agree about JW. His last game also wasn’t great. What do you think is wrong? Tired? Having a simple dip in form? Being played too deeply?

  9. ritesh

Great performance. Denilson stabilised that midfield.

Good we changed the efficient JW as maybe he would have sought retribution for the so many knocks he took under the eyes of Webb.

We just miss a star player in this team to become champions. Someone who can lead the way when needed. Someone has to step up this season and I feel it is going to be Nasri

  10. Kushagra India

    Mayank
that’s no way to judge a keeper lets see what he does in Big games and howler count should remain minimum we can’t compare the howlers of Cech Casillas or Reina to Fabianski’s because they have proved themselves at the highest level in a nutshell they can be afforded a bit of leeway but for Fabi its just started .

  11. Limestonegunner

Pedro, we ought to reserve judgment on Fabianski’s standard until the end of December since we cna’t do anything about it right now and Tech 9 won’t be trusted to replace him unless he’s injured.

He is playing better than Almunia did and if he does keep up this level consistently for the next month and a half, what complaints can we really have.

The one area of improvement is the high ball. He has done well with these generally, but there have been one or two here an there he has misjudged.

  12. Mr B

Im just pullin ur leg. Numchucks was not bought for his goal scoring but to improve the goal scoring from our other 4 offensive player and I am yet to see someone who is better than him at that.

to be fair to chamakh the ball bounced of the turf right before it got to him. A top striker would have relaxed his leg and watched it all the way.

  13. Queen of suburbia

It would be nice to get to the point where the immediate reaction to conceding a goal is no longer “what did fabianski do now?”

  14. Marko

Who done the post yesterday about us needing Cahill and Koscielny not being good enough and Squillaci being average? Mad post yesterday

  15. Gooby

    zeus

yeah he found his form, i think he’ll play for belgium again, this boy is awesome.

he had a bad start that’s all

    twice the player theo is

  16. Pedro

Limestone, he cost us 3 points last week… that’d have us top of the league. He also dropped a clanger against Spurs.

2 major fuck ups in 12 games.

He’s like David James in that sense. Amazing… but over shadowed by clangeritis.

  17. Jaguar reloaded

FFS,shut your fucking hole BOS.As if anyone gives two shit to what you say.

Squillaci is the most underrated squad player(defender) in the league.Koscielny is the most overrated and useless first choice defender in the league.A few good matches against some shit teams, and he is up there with the likes of Maldini. What a disgrace!

  18. Swedish Gun

Elmander works very hard for 90 min or until he is subbed…

His goal yesterday will be his best ever

I rate chamakh over him all the way

  19. Queen of suburbia

That’s probably a reasonable parallel with David James pedro. On his day really very good but with the odd built in calamity.

Still lots of top keepers make mistakes Gomes yesterday made a right screw up. Hopefully a decent run will see fabianski add consistency.

  20. Limestonegunner

Pedro, that’s wrong. He cost us two points–we didn’t score. We would be joint top and trailing in goal difference.

I am not a big booster of Fabianski, but I think credit needs to be given and judgments can’t be made too early. Why write him off? He is obviously 10 times better so far than we thought. I believed it would be an absolute disaster to have him play even another game for Arsenal. He’s managed to do well and he deserves to keep his spot, so let him play until the end of December, including the big game at home v. Chelsea. Let’s assess him then and see whether we think we definitely need to go out and get a keeper.

In the meantime, I think Tech 9 should get the CC games and some CL, at least so that if Fabby has some bad games, Tech 9 will be better prepared.

All this should be done before january so the club can determine the best course of action.

What is the value of saying right now that he isn’t Arsenal class? Even if you might ultimately be right, you don’t have the games yet to really judge with authority and it doesn’t serve any purpose either, does it? Unless you want to start Tech 9 right now?!

  21. Kushagra India

    Pedro
but I think he should be given that leeway till January atleast
    considering our GK predicament

    1) If you don’t agree with another blogger, say so but don’t swear at him and don’t accuse him of supporting someone else.
U know whom I am pointing
on this note I am off Gud Nite

  22. timao

that was a championship winning performance today – cesc seems to be growing into the captain’s role more and more. everyone played well and worked as a team. my only complaint would be the way we sat back for the last 20mins, after they brought on yakubu and rodwell it was tailor made for theo to step up and rip into them

  23. Mr B

I feel a bit bad for Nikki, he wouldve finished that after miscontrolling the ball a 100 times and breaking up play.

i know rohan agrees with he.

  24. Kushagra India

    Pedro
I hope you don’t show double standards beacuase Geoff once said that “He” never abuses fellow grovers.

  25. Queen of suburbia

    Lol!

BOS?? You mean BOSS as in, of you.

That really is my last word to you on this blog. You’ve been schooled and I will no longer feed the troll.

  26. timao

limestone – fabianski has made some good saves granted, but in the last two games virtually every time he had a cross to deal with he’s fucked it up. it’s a tribute to our defensive effort that so few crosses have gone in really, but why dont we just play a keeper who can stop shots AND handle crosses?

  27. Jaguar reloaded

Man up mate, please name those offenders. If you were pointing at me,its QOS,who has come up with that digs at me,without any provocation

  28. Pedro

Limestone, you base your opinions on history… I know he’ll never be top class, he’s too calamitous.

As for the 2 points… how about the impact conceding a shite goal has on the rest of the team?

He cost us the game… which in a league as tight in this one could have a bad impact at the end of the year.

  29. Erichero

Great from Fab again – growing with every game, and in Pedro’s words paraphrased he’s “Arsenal standard”. Some people have a hard time letting go of their hard-fought positions. See Gambon re Clichy for a good example.

  30. Goonerman

Pedro – Can you do me a favour and use the word ‘artillery’ in tomorrow’s write up heading. Very apt for the Gunners.

  31. Keyser

Fabianski cost us a point last week. Wasn’t much of a clanger against Spurs either.

Cech had a very good game today, conceded 3, people used to cream themselves over Given after he’d conceded a few goals aswell.

Difference now is we’re working for each other, like Sagna making a last ditch tackle against Wolves or Rosicky clearing off the line.

Fabianski’s made some high profile mistakes, that’s something he had to live with in every game he plays, though if he carries on like this he’ll restore peoples faith.

    He’s not Arsenal standard.

I guess the difference between him and Almunia is at least he has the world class saves in him and I think his distribution is far better.

Spot on, his kicks to Charmakh aren’t that consistent just like Al

  33. Mr B

The only thing Fab2 can do is what other good shot stoppers do and that is to organize the defense better so he doesnt have to come for crosses.

  34. Queen of suburbia

Pedro I don’t think it was just fabianskis fault last week. Chamakh was supposed to be marking him but just stood and watched. It was more error compounding error.

Twice later on in the game arsenal players shouted at chamakh to get goalside of Carroll and twice more he let him go at set pieces but fortunately we were not punished on those occasions.

  35. Limestonegunner

Pedro, he has been thrown on the pitch without having a run of games. Now he has had that and he is building up a different history. Soon he will have many more decent and excellent games for Arsenal than disastrous and poor ones, if he continues in this vein. At that point, history will dictate a different conclusion.

Instead of stubbornly sticking to your precipitous conclusion to write him off, there is no harm in saying–I suspect he isn’t Arsenal class because of x,y,z but he has played very well and we’ll ultimately judge him on his body of work when a decision about the GK situation is warranted at the start of the January transfer window.

Timao, it is an exaggeration to say that he has screwed up every cross into the box in the last two games. He has looked less assured in the air and in commanding his area at Newcastle and today. It is something to watch, since he was much more authoritative and decisive in that respect for 4 or 5 games earlier.

  36. Pedro

Erichero, some people don’t know what makes a good goalkeeper and they lower their standards to accommodate a players failings.

There is a reason David James was never a Champions League keeper and it wasn’t because he was a poor shot stopper.

  37. Rohan

Either way, we do look like we could be title contenders. This team does have character. A win in the next 2 games against Spuds and Villa to round off a great November and if we go on a good run until 2011, I have no doubt we’ll be in the mix.

  38. Pedro

QoS, if you come for it, you’ve got to get it.

It was his fault. Chamakh lost his runner, but Fabianski should have punched it or made a more valiant effort at catching it.

    That’s what his job is.

  39. Limestonegunner

    Pedro,
As far as the impact of conceding that bad goal to Newcastle on the team, I would say they have dealt with it very well, as has he. By winning the next game, playing great defense, and having an excellent game in goal.

I hope you noticed how much our defenders were celebrating and congratulating Fabianski in particular as they came off the pitch at Wolverhampton. They knew he saved our bacon with some excellent late saves and didn’t let their concern about the goal in Newcastle affect them.

  40. Pedro

Limestone, everyone appreciates his saves, but I’m pretty sure he’s not the solution everyone thinks he is.

He’s very weak from crosses and you can’t be like that in the Premiership.

    Manninger was the same.

  41. Rohan

Right. Our priority now should be getting Cesc and RvP firing on all cylinders because honestly our squad depth is good enough so as to compete on all 4 fronts.

The league has to be the priority now though. I just hope the injury curse doesn’t strike us again.

Pedro who made you a judge over players abilities……Its clear you av a biased mind Fabianski kept us in d game against wolves….Get behind him and stop being extreme wiv your comment…ffs he is getting stronger show me a top keeper who hasn’t made mistakes dat cost his team

  43. Pedro

    Keyser,

Great distribution, great ability to deal with high aerial balls into the box, good hands, commanding of the area, great shot stopper, good communicator, decisive… and being a calming influence on the defence.

  44. Queen of suburbia

True, but like most goals the mistake the keeper makes is only one in a line of mistakes.

If we defended the run properly (which we should have because it was a carbon copy of at least one other goal Carroll has scored this season) then fabianski could have ran to the dugout for a chat with wenger and it wouldn’t have mattered.

You sound like a bitter goalkeeper who’s been blamed too
    MAny times pedro! :-)

  45. Limestonegunner

Pedro, He does other things well besides saves and was doing very well with crosses and high balls in the earlier part of his run of games. It is an exaggeration to say he is terrible at them. No one is saying he is a perfect keeper, but I think he has saved us more points now (at Man City, at Wolves, and today) than he has lost us (Newcastle).

He has played less than 20 first team games, right?, so why don’t we judge the player when there is a better body of work on which to base our judgment.

It looks like Jimbo’s remarks on Chamakh to declare a player not good enough. Having reasons and discussing strengths and weaknesses is one thing, but writing a player off at this stage of his first team career is just extreme.

And again, I was calling for a GK in the summer. I wouldn’t be unhappy to have Reina come in by any means. But I don’t think Fabianski deserves Arsenal fans taking the position he doesn’t belong in the team when he has been playing very well and has only been getting a string of games recently.

  46. Pedro

QoS, I am a bitter keeper… you get blamed for everything in Sunday league and you don’t have the benefit of a replay!

However, if you come out to claim a high ball, you’d best be sure you’re getting there.

Even if Chamakh had tracked the run, he wouldn’t have challenged the same ball.

  47. Pedro

Limestone, because if we all waited until January the first to have an opinion on anything, we’d have very little to talk about.

I’ll be more than happy to be proved wrong on this one.

I was against Kozzer in the summer… I’ve accepted he’s a good player now… despite there being a host of people saying he’s shite.

    We’ll see… I don’t share the same faith.

  48. Keyser

Pedro – What doe he lack ? Saying he’ll never make it, is pretty much worthless really, it’s just a nothing opinion, is this the most consecutive games he’s played in ?!

It’s like the aerial ability thing, the Premiership has almost another set of rules to the continent.

  49. Limestonegunner

Pedro, fabby had excellent distriubtion v. Wolves–remeber the chamakh goal at the end; he has good hands, and seems to be communicating well. He positioned Cesc on several corners in the ManCity game, for example, and I saw him talking a lot to his defenders on set pieces etc… The defense is playing better, and you can easily argue that he has had a calming influence on them.

So there are many things he has done reasonably well or better at and a couple of things he isn’t as good at. Let’s decide on the balance of his play in December. What is the reason to judge this now? Please tell me what we gain, unless you want to explicitly argue for Tech 9 to start games right now in the first team, by passing these judgments now?

  50. gambon

I cant believe anyone is suggesting Fabianski may be the long term solution.

We should be signing a keeper within 1 hour of the window opening.

  51. Queen of suburbia

I think he should have made Carroll run round him, that would have prevented him having an unimpeeded run at the ball and given fabianski an extra second of decision making time.

I thought you lot were all supposed to be in a union and look out for each other!!

  52. timao

limestone – far from an exaggeration it was meant to be kind since i was ignoring the newcastle game, where he fucked up yet again on a cross

  53. hitman

Your all being a bit harsh on Flappy. One error on a cross but note – he kept it out!

I am not his biggest fan but there were three brilliant saves today. Not sure Al would have kept any of those out.

We have bigger problems in central midfield. Song was woeful today again and Denilshite just gives the ball away. We need some muscle in there.

  54. zeus

Pedro lets not forget our capt is less than 100% too. And Ramsey should add a bit of depth.

Surely RVP only has one longterm injury in him per season going off past experience and stats. So we have him for the rest of the season then.

I’ll give Fab2 a chance though if not, surely both he and Almunia has to go with Stekelenberg coming in. But he has done well and that can’t be denied.

Made a few mistakes in technique and got away with them as stated by scum Stewart Robson. The flappy corner, going down too early and Parrying a shot straight at him when II thought he could’ve caught it.
Not gonna slag a player though that may have well just won us 3 points.

Make sure to mention tomorrow as well how professional and mature first 1/2 hour of the2nd half was, completely took the sting out the game, from passing the ball around (85% possession at one point) and they literally were without the ball for minutes during that period.

  55. Limestonegunner

Pedro, so you are admitting you are just a wind up merchant, then?! Having something to talk about is raising issues and points and evidence for what you say. Saying he isn’t Arsenal quality is a judgment that stops conversation–or at least good conversation.

It doesn’t mean we don’t assess and evaluate the performances of the players between now and December to say we hold off judgement. The judgment is not about his performance in games etc… is a blanket declaration about their status in the team that is a foolish opinion that contributes little to the discussion.

  56. Jimbo

Marko – defensively good, apart from not bothering to track Cahill for his goal.

Chamakh is toss. Leaving Bendtner out of the squad for that guy is a complete travesty.

  57. timao

“What is it with our players and injuries eh? I know every team succumbs to injuries but it seems that we can’t just have the straight forward hamstring or the run-of-the-mill knock, our players get injured and they disappear off the face of the earth for months on end….”

sounds familiar but which team’s blog does this come from…? not arsenal but chelsea, poor fuckers

  58. Limestonegunner

    Gambon,
As I said, I’ll have no complaints if we bring in Reina. But we don’t necessarily just need “a keeper”; we would have to have someone who is better than Fabianski will have been by the end of December.

I don’t want Schwartzer and never did. If we are going to replace our keepers, I want an established world class keeper between 28-32.

    Find us one, Gambon.

  59. Limestonegunner

Jimbo, didn’t you hear–Bendtner is injured; stuck his foot too far into his mouth. Talk about a travesty…

  60. Limestonegunner

Alas, I must take leave of all you–fall leaves to rake in the yard.

But great win! The multiple trophy season is still looking possible. Enjoy this all you gooners!!

  61. BriganteGooner

In all today was a perfect day at work……at least the pensioners at Stamford Bridge where highly battered by sunderland….3-0 against Chelsea at home no one cud ve predicted it.

  62. timao

Jimbo i’d be amazed if bendtner doesn’t speak french – most scandinavians seem to speak 5 or 6 languages and he’s a bright lad.

chamakh has been arguably our best, most consistent player of the season so i can only assume you have either ‘no footballing brain’ like theo, or you are in fact nik’s danish princess in disguise

    Method for finding a better keeper;

    1) Write list of all GKs in world football
    2) Throw dart at said list
    3) Bingo, better keeper

  64. Queen of suburbia

Reinas ability to deal with the high ball actually got a right slating on espn during the Stoke game. To be fair he was very well, flappy.

  65. choy

I just think its tough for all the goalkeepers with the high ball these days, the ball is very light and moves all over the place.

I certainly can’t think of any GK in the league who is not prone to poor judgement in the league atm.

  66. yangkamp10

Good game for Fabi today – he has mistakes in him that can be said about any keeper at his age. Doesnt help playing behind a defence still getting to know each other. We should should have signed a new keeper in the summer. My strategy would be to see how Fabi is doing come January and obviously have a couple of serious options for the window if the quality is available. Make a decision in the new year…

lol @ Timao – best most consistent player?

I can hack being the only one who doesn’t rate Chamakh, but when people flat-out make things up to argue against you, it’s hard to know where to go. Chamakh has been poor in MOST of the games he’s played this season. Consistent? You’re having a GIRAFFE!!!

  71. zeus

    Hahahahahahahahaha.

Is Wenger ever completely truthful about the injury situation. Yesterday everyone was fine minus the semi crocked and all of a sudden Theo isn’t back completely? Where the hell did he go and what happened?

Pedro where is the inside info, you dropped the ball on this one…..

zeus … he’s shit, the shittiest high reputation manager around. What a fuckin overrated twat, how the fuck can u get a treble winning team and completely fuck it up, I honestly think even fuckin Moratti himself would have done a better job, crazy

On being equipped to challenge for the Premier League…
That’s what I have said for a long time. [The players] get a lot of encouragement from the way they are playing at the moment, from our discipline and our focus. Lets get points into our account and see where we stand in the end, that’s what we’re trying to do.

On Lukasz Fabianski’s crucial late saves…
When we were 2-0 up I felt we tried too much to keep that score and keep the ball in a negative way instead of wanting to continue to play forward. We were nearly punished and we needed a few good saves from the ‘keeper because we became a bit too conservative.

    On Jack Wilshere…
He is not injured. I felt I wanted a second holding player to win the second balls from headers and I felt he looked a bit tired today because he [has] played many games. I wanted to take him off because of that. He will be alright to go with England.

    On Nicklas Bendtner…
He had a little groin problem and I left him at home. I don’t know [whether he will be part of the Danish national squad]. They can call him up and check his condition. I would prefer him not to go. He would prefer to stay as well. I want him to stay, I have known Nicklas since he was 16 years old and I have a good rapport and good communication with him. I like him as a player and as a person. I want him to stay and be part of the group.

On getting stronger with players returning…
Van Persie is not ready yet and nor is Walcott completely.

On Jay Bothroyd’s call up for England…
He was one of my regrets because he left our Club very early. I have said many times that most importantly the guy has a good career, even if he goes somewhere else it’s better than to play in our Reserves. He went down and came up again, credit to him. We are all happy and proud at Arsenal. He is a good a guy and he is a classy left-footed player with a strong body and fantastic technique. Like all of these talented players some of them sometimes realise later that they need not only to have talent, but to work as well. Sometimes to go down to the Championship is a better education.

    On Cesc Fabregas’ booking…
Every time Cesc goes for the ball everybody studies with a microscope what he has done. From the bench I could not see it. When you are on the right you have the linesman in front of you.

On the performance sending out a statement…
The performance today has shown we have something that is not only quality football but we have fighting spirit. That is an ingredient you will need if you want to fight for the championship like we want to do. At the moment we face Chelsea who are on a little bit of a different pace but what is important is that we keep going with these qualities.

flappy should have either stayed on his line against newcastle of if he came for it then he need to get it. He came out, hesitated, then went for it again and because of that he was too slow to get to the ball.

    Kreshnik

Under Mourinho Inter were 12 points better of than they were at this point last term. Puts a lot into perspective doesn’t it?

Great result for the Arse today. Another good, solid performance from Flappy (the encouraging thing is Newcastle is looking like a blip rather than the norm); Clichy managed to not make any major mistakes (although still looked the shakiest of our defenders); Cesc is clearly regaining some form.

Most impressive today 9apart from the travelling support- awesome) was Nasri. He was fantastic. A year ago, this was the type of game he’d go missing in- away from home against a north-west team. He never stopped wanting the ball- and always looked a threat running at Everton. Great performance.

    A good day.

Hahahahahaha. Inter showing the Mourinho arts of football.

Stankovic deliberately provokes Abbatti knowing him to be on a yellow and pushes him to the floor. Abbiatti pushes back and Stankovic gets a card while Milan go down to ark arts say the commentator. hehehe.

Jimbo he has been consistently decisive, scored opening goals, winners, won penaltys and many red cards. can’t argue with that for a player coming into a new team in arguably the toughest league in the world and on a free

  79. Jimbo

    Consistently decisive?

    This league campaign…

    Liverpool – No
    Blackpool – No
    Blackburn – No
    Bolton – Yes
    Sunderland – No
    West Brom – No
    Chelsea – No
    Birmingham – Yes
    Man City – No
    Newcastle – No
    Wolves – Yes

Making things up, I tells ya…

Ok i missed all todays matches but heard the results! Get fucking in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh and hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha 3-0! What a fucking day. Just gotta wait for MOTD now.

Great fucking weekend. Only blemish was united unfairly getting a draw. We win, Milan win, chavski lose, liverfool lose, united draw, man shity draw! If only the spuds had lost too..twould have been perfect.

A high degree of cred has to go to wenger for today’s win. Denilsons substitution was timely. Like to have seen Ebway on 5 min earlier.

I think in the EPL the role of the central striker in a 4-3-3 has evolved and while Chamakh will never be TH14 or even Drogba he has shown the type of ability required to play this role effectively. Who would have thought Milito would be named Uefa player of the year? Clearly not the best striker in Europe, but the job of central stiker asks for more overall contribution. Chamakh offers that. We need a more clinical guy up there though…And before someone says RVP, we need the guy to be fit for more than 3 weeks a season

I thought Denilson in the first 25 minutes once he came on was absolutely phenomenal as was Song in that period where we were just toying with them.

  84. yangkamp10

well said Lurch. Very good tactical. Just steadied the ship with that change. I thought that we took our foot off the gas after the 2nd goal though?!?
Cant understand why with good possession we are not going for that 3rd goal which will kill the game. We tried to pass it for 25min. Everton were always going to score and set up a mad ending to the game with that sort of tactical approach. Worst thing was that after their goal, there was only one team with momentum, and that was them. If we played another 10 minutes they’d have got the draw. We basically did a Villa.

  85. Rohan

Fabianksi deserved the clean sheet today. Stupid ref distracted Sagna and then didn’t give the foul on Song during the free-kick.
Howard Webb is such a muppet.

  86. Lurch LeRouge

You’re right about Songs game in the first 65 min but I still stand by Geoffs call to peg them back with Theo.
Their line was getting higher by the minute and we were getting crowded. By this stage Song looked tired and his passing lacked vision and power resulting in turnovers deep in our half. Admittedly others were guilty of loosing possession as well but we weren’t gonna sub Cesc Nasri Rosicky Denilson.

  87. Lurch LeRouge

    Yangkamp.

I thought it was mostly the toffees turning up the volume and we didn’t match their intensity. It was exactly at that point Theo should have been introduced, that way we could close ranks and retain a scoring threat with a Cesc or Nasri through ball to Theo.
