Ask me any question you like as long as I like it. Well boss, I have just 3. And it’s our birthday today!

Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn came out of retirement to sing us a song and put her name in the hat for new keeper!

So Le grove is 3 years old today, for all the people that make this blog the best Arsenal forum and the most commented on (682,770 and counting!), a big thank you, we still write 365 days a year and we don’t take ads, we still offer up an alternative for real fans and we will always love the Arsenal, we don’t always see eye-to-eye with what the club do, but that’s what makes us different, if people don’t like us, don’t read, but for those regulars that do, thank you for making us what we are today, independent and a fun place to chat all things Arsenal.

Back to the headline!

It all sounds a bit like ‘Our dear leader’ Kim Jong il in North Korea. Sit down, shut up and get what you’re given, then of course, say thanks.

Now before anyone gets on their high horse and tells me I am comparing our leader to their dear leader whose country murders and tortures its people, I’m really not. I am however drawing a parallel with the management methodology, how? Read on.

A Q&A with shareholders is a chance for smaller individual shareholders to ask the manager questions on subjects they generally feel are not being answered in the day to day scheme of things and never get asked in press conferences or the lip service paid by arsenal.com

The last Q&A was when an irritated shareholder asked Arsene Wenger why he would sign a geriatric defender like Mikel Silvestre, well Wenger was angry he should dare be questioned and not praised, but sycophant Bob Wilson was apoplectic and very, very angry that anyone dare question our dear leader.

That kind of shows that our Bob has never had a real job and really thinks that Mr Wenger is way too important to ever question, well he obviously forgot he did just that when Stuart Taylor wasn’t getting played, and he was the goal keeping coach, hmmm bit hypocritical that isn’t it Bob?

Anyway, as a result of that, the next Q&A was cancelled and the re-scheduled one is on a vetted questions only basis, in other words only questions he likes can be asked, well frankly, what’s the point of doing it then? That’s the parallel with Kim Jong il, he won’t allow any form of criticism either, see where I’m coming from now?

After the last one, Arsene said judge me in May, well May came and went, he wasn’t judged and has since had a pay rise with a new 3 year contract.

Unsackable, unquestionable, no one to answer to and results don’t matter, as long as we finish in the top 4.

Now I’m not suggesting he is sacked, far from it, but I do think he should be answerable, a series of checks and balances be put into place and all the arse kissers and toadies he surrounds himself should be thrown out. We should have Watchdogs, like some areas of government do, groups that stop the country becoming dictatorships.

David Dein was the last to provide that and he was thrown out for daring to disagree.

I’m a shareholder boss, let me ask you a few questions, first of all the judge me in May statement, were you judged? You said it, not me.

Onto Cesc, he said this at the weekend to a Spanish newspaper, ‘In the end I had to stay, but the content of my conversation with Arsene Wenger will remain private’

I bet it will, but if we find out that you were given even more cash to stay for one more year, I for one will be livid, the fact that Barca are keeping the number 4 shirt free, suggests to me they will get Cesc next season and we will promote Ramsey, if that is the case, it’s easy to see where the money goes, on bribing our players.

So that will be my second question Arsene, have you paid Cesc more money to stay, saying if we win nothing, you will let him go?

My third and final question is this, I don’t want to know what you earn, all I want to know is do you earn a bonus if you don’t spend the transfer budget, in other words, do you get more money if the club make more money?

Let’s move on to people who live off the popularity of other entities. Parasites. Let’s start with the twat from Togo.

Adebayor who can’t get press coverage anymore unless he talks about Arsenal is at it again, Ade time to shut up mate and concentrate on getting into your own team, ManCity fans are beginning to get pissed off.

It also reminds me of another Arsenal blog (sort of) that writes about us to get anybody to comment on his.

I know this because he devoted his whole blog to us yesterday (and another one earlier in the week) and quite a few of his readers came over to see what we are all about, read yesterday afternoons comments to find out what happened, that’s how I know, by the way, they are still with Le Grove, another smart move by our blog stalker, no brains and now, no comments. They all defected!

So today’s post hasn’t been a criticism, it’s really been three questions I would like answered, I am a shareholder, I won’t be going to the Q&A because it’s another staged, sanitised, blowing smoke up the managers arse session, so I’ll ask my questions here, let’s see if anybody from Arsenal has the good grace to answer them, you’ll find my email at the top, I know you read us.

We all love our team and we will get behind the players, even if the donkey from Shrek was our keeper, we’re sure he’s not, but we are all in shock as to why you didn’t sort out the keeper situation after you told our top two they weren’t good enough, and you did, by putting in a bid for Schwarzer you told them just that.

Too late now so we all hope Almunia is thick skinned and has a blinding season, sack the flapping at set pieces and he could be the man, Bob, you were a great keeper, tell him. We can all see it.

Interestingly with the injury to spud Dawson, Gallas will get his chance to play against us, that will be interesting, the spuds will have to cheer him and that will be worth the admission alone, lets see them cheering a Gooner. Even more reason to put out a strong squad now, we can’t let them beat us with an Arsenal reject now can we?

What sort of young team can we expect, here’s my idea of a second stream.

Mannone

Eboue Squillaci Djourou Gibbs

Wilshere Nasri Diaby

Rosicky Chamakh Vela

Now I would be happy if he fielded that team, second string but strong all the same, what do you think?

Finally, I love the squad now, I think we look physically stronger than last season and they have that glint in their eye, the ‘we won’t be beaten’ look from yesteryear. But will you just tell our captain to stop talking to the Spanish press, surely everything that needs to be said has been said a 1,000 times already.

Have a great day Grovers, not long left until we get to win another 3 points against another team from the North West.

Shit. Just saw a video on youtube titled ‘girl dies’, the most fucked up thing I have seen in a long time.

PRACTICAL JOKES ARE ONLY FUNNY WHEN SAFELY DONE.

  2. Pedro

Sabeel, I’ll ask him if he know’s how fast your reactions are on the morning post… and see if he’s interested in you as our keeper!

  3. DaleDaGooner

Ritesh, i take exception to your wife thinking that Adebayor and Kanu (both Africans from around the Nigerian nation) ugly. I think that is racism.

  4. Sabeel Indian Gunner

    Pedro

I hope so,that u will get an oppurtunity to ask the question,

I am just concerned how will the time be managed there for this Q&A

    for ex…as u know
How many question…which depends on prob how Long and Lengthy and time consuming the reply from wenger will be…
u know like we are always taught, while making a PPT,to make less slides, with graphic info, as there will be lot of time spend on answering questions

“It’s the hard knock life for us..it’s the hard knock life for us….instead of trophies we get ‘fits…instead of glory, we get piss! IT’S THE HARD KNOCK LIFE!”

  6. ritesh

    DDG,

No chance, she thinks black is beautiful ;-)

We met with Samuel Eto over the week end after their match with us and he was OK. Song was not around, I think he did not travel. Where are u from. I have met many African players.

  7. zeus

hahahahahahahahahahaha. 11 guys 1 cup? Still haven’t got enough courage to watch the vile abomination.

    Pedro

Are you allowed to ask more than 1 question at this session.

  8. Queen of suburbia

The question I’d ask would be: given that that the arsenal brand is under leveraged in both retail and commercial sectors, how much pressure has the board put you under to consider more marquee type signings to compliment the playing staff?

  9. DaleDaGooner

It’s the hard knock life (uh-huh) for us
It’s the hard knock life, for us!!
    Steada Treated,we get tricked
    Steada trophies, we get shit!
    It’s the hard knock life!!

From winnin on the last day
to signin some of the hottest stars England has ever seen

ritesh, i was yanking your chain, ofcourse she thinks so…I’m what they cal “African America”…..the world we live in..

  11. gambon

I think thats an awesome question QoS.

I think having star players is massively important from that perspective. Would sponsors pay more if you have ‘marquee’ signings in the team? I definately think so.

  12. SharkeySure

Cheers Pedro….did you see my response to that pile of shite you wrote about X-F..??

QoS is my hero. I’m just gutted that our tenures on LG haven’t overlapped. I’d never try my luck with her, just put her up on a pedestal and hang on her every word, and cater to her every (non sexual!) whim

  13. Chippy

    Pedro, True
    SIG, Laters mate
Zeus, Someone kindly sent it to me under a different heading luckily I cottoned on before viewing in all it’s glory ;)

How about one flew over the keepers head :)

  14. SharkeySure

I’m liking your reptilian theme QoS, but no thats not it.

Just ask him random questions about Malta. Prime Minster’s name, climate, population change over the last 50 years.

Your trump card should be to ask why anyone would leave Malta…??

  15. SharkeySure

Anyways that’s eough of me being Machiavellian and mean spirited…well almost.

One last thing. This is Paul/England. Did you ever solve the riddle of who that huge dopey looking black bloke you saw was..??

Pedro, if TIE asks for my email to find out wtf I’m talking about, please let him have it. Cheers. Lol

    Nite all

  16. DaleDaGooner

Did anyone see what the cunt, Paul Parker had to say about Theo:

And I’d get rid of Theo Walcott too. Adam Johnson’s got more quality than Theo. When he gets in position you know he’s got a good left foot and can shoot and score all kinds of goals – there’s an end product. Walcott is a little bit crispy, but he hasn’t got a finish. I’ve said it before – if he was a postman he’d be sacked for non-delivery.

Because he didn’t go to the World Cup and we were poor in South Africa everyone started talking about him. Yes, he’s had a reasonable start for Arsenal this season, but he’s inconsistent when he gets into positions. You need a bit more than that.

We can’t keep saying that he’s young. He’s not: he’s been involved in the Premier League too long. In any other job he’d be an apprentice, but not in football because it’s a short industry. He’s getting to the point where he’s a mature adult in the lifespan of a footballer and we expect to see more from him. Ryan Giggs, at the same age, was 100 per cent better than Walcott is now.

Johnson’s not been fast-tracked like Walcott: he’s got an appetite and a point to prove and he can make something out of nothing. He doesn’t rely on pace to beat a player; he’s got tricks, hip movement, shoulder drop; Walcott’s just got pace.

  17. DaleDaGooner

Pedro, if he has any ambition, and at least want to prove that he is not all we say he is, he better aim for the CC and keep it moving from there..

  18. Stu

Walcott has the ability to time a run. Johnson just waits on the wing for the ball and uses his burst of speed to beat the fullback.

Fuck sake, i never though the say would come where i defend Theo. Oh well.

  19. Stu

We’re not gonna win the CL this season, just like every other season, theres no reason why we cant take the FA and carling cups more seriously and go for them properly.

  20. Limestonegunner

    Happy Birthday, Le Grove.

Last year, I think Wenger was sticking up for a player, but he also does seem to be a bit prickly about supporter criticism. I think though, judging how calmly he deals with rather hostile media questions, that he will try to answer any question that isn’t phrased in an inflammatory way.

That’s why I wish someone could ask: at the end of the 2008-9 season in the FA cup semifinal game you left out Arshavin, possibly our best fit player that Spring who was cup-tied in the Champions League. At the time Arsenal had gone four years since our last trophy, the FA cup. Did you do this because you consider the FA cup less valuable than achieving 3rd (rather than 4th) in the premier league or because you thought it more important to attempt to win and prove a point about the philosophy of youth development than to win with an established star acquired as a transfer signing?

That decision troubled me then and was the first real feeling I had of my confidence being shaken in the manager and his decision-making. I thought then, and do today, that he is a great manager who has done fantastic things for this club. But I felt that he let us down with his team selection and couldn’t understand why Arshavin was left out. He was fit, he had been playing great, and was CL cup tied so there was no reason to rest him. At this point it is an historical incident, but its explanation would reveal what our ambition as a club has become and whether the commitment to youth is/has been a financial necessity or a rigid ideological position governing the club.

  21. gliners

    Firstly, happy B’day Le Grove…

If I was the boss I would have a good go at the Carling Cup this year, especially since the Spuds are first up. Wenger however will stick to his stubborn ways and do the usual. The last 5-years have all been a bit like ground hog day.

  22. Stu

Wenger already explained his decision to not play Arshavin. It was because he wanted to show the other players that they didnt need him (so if we won they would be on a high regardless of AA being cup tied for the upcoming match against united in the CL). His plan obviously backfired because we lost both.

  23. Limestonegunner

Stu, I thought I had heard that but wondered if he really said it. Honestly, I didn’t want to believe that he would throw the FA cup just to give them confidence for the CL game.

  24. zeus

    Stu

yeah he did explain that. Some of the dumbest shit I had ever heard at that point.

I still think it was his irrattional need to show that the players that lost to Chelsea in the CC final in 2007 had grown and so were better equipped to do the blues.

    We didn’t obviously.

  25. Keyser

So we threw the FA Cup by not playing Arshavin ? It wasn’t because of anything say to do with the defence.

I can understand why they vet questions at these meetings.

  26. Keyser

Isn’t there another International break next month ? Or am I wrong, this ones been pretty depressing. I’m not even bothered about the Rooney thing.

  27. Pedro

Keyser, we were all talking about that story in the summer… hardly shocking anyway!

Quite a funny read… I love it when hookers get on their high horse about morals.

  28. zeus

    Keyser

For sure the defence was a huge problem, but surely not playing Arshavin, probably the hottest most explosive player in the squad at the time, was a MASSIVE mistake……..further compounded back the stupid reasoning behind it.

  29. incesc

to be fair coleen is probably thinking sweet, a way out.

Rooney will end up like hatton after hes career ends, fat and an alkie.

he will probably gamble all his money away too.

  30. Limestonegunner

Keyser, perhaps “threw” is a little strong, but that isn’t how I would have worded the question, obviously. What I don’t understand is compromising the strength of the team put out for a cup semi-final and risking losing the game in an experimental attempt to build confidence for the team in a different game and competition. Even if the CL is a more important competition, it seems like a very uncompetitive approach.

  31. Stu

Still havent taken that break eh Keyser?

    Look at it this way.

We condeded 2 goals with that shit defence. Had we started Arshavin whos to say we wouldnt have scored 2 ourselves or even 3 and won the match?

    Aha!

  32. Stu

QoS, Jaguar is from Malta. I dont know what relevance that has to why someone mentioned it though because i havent read the whole discussion.

  33. Keyser

Pedro – Baffling decision ? Maybe, the result wasn’t really shocking, we had no defence. If Wenger had wanted to distract attention from why we did lose, he did a great job.

  34. Limestonegunner

Notably, it was about that time that I discovered Le Grove and was relieved to find a place in the Arsenal blogosphere where you could raise a question about our tactics and priorities and debating the issues honestly and fully. Happy birthday again, Le Grove!

  35. Pedro

Choy, we don’t budget past the group stages, so 27million of that will be pocket money if 6 mill is the min you earn.

  36. Keyser

Pedro – I don’t find it funny, more blase, ever since I left Uni, and started to do some work, I’ve turned really really cynical.

  37. choy

6mill a year ANB.. and no pressure from the top brass.. and someone who winds up Jaguar every single day!

Who would quit such a job!

  38. zeus

    Dale

The illuminati is a POWERFUL organisation. No way in hell Jay Z has enough clout to be one of the main men in it.

Maybe a little crony but certainly not a big wig. I always say though that there is an element in truth in all conspiracy theories.

Hell, it wouldn’t surprise me if he was recruited under some guise and didn’t know it.

  39. Pedro

Cheer Limestone, apparently this is also a good place to get any racist thoughts off your chest as well!

Keyser, like Stu said, attack is the best form of defence…

…ok, so maybe he didn’t say that exactly.

  40. Pedro

Keyser, I thought reading a hooker say she wouldn’t sell herself in the family was funny…

Like listening to gangsters say they don’t shoot people on Sundays (The Wire is a documentary).

  41. Keyser

zeus – Not really, I mean we’re going up against Chelsea, Drogba up against Silvestre, Gibbs and Ebway, and then Fabianksi in goal. Arshavin’s hit or miss, we scored the goal Chelsea broke us down anyway.

  42. Pedro

Zeus, I might be wrong, but I don’t think too many African Americans are in the Illuminati and I certainly don’t think they would be if they were rapping about it.

  43. ritesh

DDG, Palmer, the guy on Yahoo??? lol

I really feel for this guy, it must not be funny for him reading the comments. But then, he does look for controversy.

  44. Queen of Suburbia

Limestone – I think Wenger answered your question at the time?

He said that Arshavin was just coming back from injury and that he wanted the team to believe they could win it without him. Might not be the answer you’re looking for but probably the one you’d get again.

  45. naijagunner

    happy birthday le-grove

this is my first comment but i’m a regular reader. i think no one is more of an arsenal fan because he agrees with wenger that “fabiansky is a top, top talent” and anyone who brands other fans as anti-arsenal must be a joker.

you are doing a great job though i wonder sometimes why some very offensive comments are allowed. a little more moderation in the comments wont hurt IMO.

    Cheers!

  46. Keyser

Stu – That’s far too positive a take on things for you, you love the defence, I’d have thought that’d be the first thing you pick on.

No break, footballs too big a part of my life, I’m trying to find a hobby that doesn’t require soo much effort to keep me motivated.

  47. Arsene Nose Best

pedro m8 well done writing such a good blog may you and geoff keep up the good work and outlast that cunt from untold arsenal,im sure you will,he looks like he’s not got much more years left in him.

  48. zeus

    Pedro

Like I said, he might just be a crony. He doesn’t get invited to the ‘Lets have a global financial tomorrow’ meetings.

But aren’t a big part of the illuminati MO distraction. They recruit Jigga to dropo a few albums to keep us from seeing the truth while rubberstamping and funding films and music videos with subliminal messages.

  49. Keyser

Pedro – I kind of think it’s funny that he didn’t find anyone far better looking, or that he didn’t just give her more money to shut her up.

What do tabloids pay for that sort of story ? Newspapers are surely dying out.

  50. choy

Great pedro.. you know all the questions that need to be asked then!

I think Wenger believes in this team a bit too much!

  51. Stu

Well Keyser, when the defence cant be helped because of injuries i chose to focus on the managers decision (ie not starting Arshavin).

You could take up painting or something. I dont suppose you got round to starting a book yet?

  52. Keyser

Limestonegunner – Arshavin’s one player, if that one player was Henry, it’s a completely different story, I know Arshavin had a good start, but he was hardly the focal point of the team.

I had hope for both semi-finals, but knew that with the players we had out and the way the team had been playing we’d need a hell of a lot of luck.

  53. Pedro

Zeus, I could imagine that… but even the richest men in the world don’t get a real say in how things are going to pan out.

I’d love to know who is really running the show…

Keyser, those girls are never too hot and I totally agree with what you’re saying about that. I had a to do with John Cross about that… he thinks people want to read it… I think that appealing to the lowest common denominator will get you spikes in readership, but it’ll turn off your everyday readers.

Sales are dropping as is good quality news… which I don’t believe is a coincidence.

I’m not codoning Rooney’s actions… but do the foreign media hound their sportsmen in the same way? I can’t believe being promiscuous is a preserve of the English…

  54. Pedro

  55. Pedro

Choy, the stuff I’ve heard he knows the deficiencies like we do… he just doesn’t seem to be able to act on them.

    Right… really off now!

  56. Limestonegunner

QOS, I suppose that’s the answer. I guess I wonder how much our policies the last few years were dictated by absolute financial necessity and how much they are a choice of philosophy. I’d like to believe it is the former rather than an inflexible commitment to the latter. I’d like to hear an answer to yours as well.

Keyser, it’s about giving yourself the best chance to win. It’s the principle that counts, not ex post facto trying to figure out what was more important to our loss. I was bothered by not giving us the very best chance to win that semi-final.

  57. Queen of Suburbia

you can’t compare say the uk press on such an issue with french or Italian press…culturally usuing a prostitute and infidelity are viewed differently.

The hypocrisy of somebody happy to take millions of advertising dollars on the back of his image who then does not take sufficient care to protect that image by keeping his pants zipped is staggering. He deserves every inch of bad press.

  58. Keyser

Pedro – I mean’t more with the way the Internet’s taken over, isn’t there some sort of shortfall in their profits, they all have websites now, do the adverts they carry bridge the gap in revenue.

I used to get the paper everyday for the tube a few years ago, there’s just no point now. The Times is even asking people to suscribe now online, only a pound or something though.

I don’t specifically want to read it, it’s titallation, but short-lived, I’m undecided on whether these players should be exposed or not, because some of the money they earn is based on wholsesome images they’ve groomed for themsevles.

  59. Limestonegunner

In all honesty, though, I am starting to feel much more optimistic for this season. Perhaps thinking about new defenders, a new striker, and improvement in some players (nasri, Rosicky and Walcott) is giving me a bit more to focus on than at the start of last year, when we lost two and brought only Vermaelen in.

  60. Keyser

Stu – I’m used to doing work typing rubbish on here, having the tv on and sometimes watching some sport online aswell.

I just find it difficult to find say a book that engrosses me soo much that I give it the attention it deserves.

  61. DaleDaGooner

On a serious note, there is a big rumour that Jay Z and hollywood in particular are pawns of these very powerful society. The highlight of it is people believe that it is all Satanic worshipping.

  62. incesc

of course rooney should be exposed.

i dont read the mags but im willing to bet he has made money from cultivating a force image of a relationship with colleen. Wedding specials, couple interviews in Ok or whatever.

He is a scumbag and deserves everything he gets, i just hope colleen has the cojones to dump him.

Hes made out to be a role model and he is out there sleeping with protistutes.

  63. Keyser

Limestonegunner – Yeah, but it’s your opinion on what gives us the best chance, I think playing Arshavin or not pales into comparison with the defensive weakness we had to play with.

Arshavin’s all end product or someone who flitters in and out of games, if he was coming back from injury, I can understand playing a more dominant physical person to combat Chelsea rather than play Arshavin.

Chelsea didn’t leave space that someone like Arshavin could exploit, they didn’t really have any injuries and they’ve got experience from top to bottom, they just grinded out the win.

  64. DaleDaGooner

ritesh, you mean Scot fawking Parker, the moron who used to play for Manure, he loves to take digs at anything Arsenal subliminally on his rubbish post on yahoo.

  65. Limestonegunner

For example, I was quite dubious about the Chamakh signing (though I am still convinced we should have bought him last summer if we wanted him or should have looked for a striker in January when we really needed one). What I have seen so far, admittedly it is quite early, is giving me confidence that we are stronger up front this time around. Would I have loved David Villa instead–of course! But I do like Chamakh. He seems really courageous, determined, hard-working, physically strong, skilled in the ways that combine well with our other attackers, and multi-dimensional in aerial and defensive parts of the game.

I hope he’ll help us a great deal this season.

  66. gambon

It could be argued that football as a whole is being used, or could be used to further a world government agenda by a ruling elite.

I dont like saying illuminati, it just sounds silly, like a little club or something.

  67. Queen of Suburbia

I’d like to return to your post about how newspaper quality reducing is impacting on its readership figures when i’m a bit more awake.

Basically, i think you are both right and wrong – there is a tendancy to almost view the tabloids as entertainment these days, so like Eastenders people watch when its “exciting” and tune out when its a bit dull.

But I also think that in some ways its technology that has caused the downfall of the print media more than declining standards of journalism.

    Anyway not fully formed thoughts….

QoS – I only tink it’s short-term, because the same news will simply appear online, they’ll make their money with the advertising they get on their websites and the effect should be gradual, was just wondering how much of an effect it has had on their profits.

In relation to that, how much money could she have made from the tabloids for her story, and couldn’t Rooney have simply paid for off.

Break your laptop and tv Keyser. Then you have no choice but to read a book. Go on holiday or something. I always read a few books when on holiday..

ANB, Koscielny was interviewed by ATVO by the club. It is not like he was going around and bragging. The interviewer brought up that statistic and Koscielny looked abashed and talked about how important it was to work hard on tackling in practice and that he would would harder to be better at Arsenal. He mentioned the play on Diouf and acknowledged that he had his red card in mind but has learned from the mistake. It is pretty silly to hurl that sort of abuse at a player for making a mistake and without knowing anything at all about the context involved.

Keyser, he admitted that he left him out partly for reasons that had nothing to do with competing in that game. That is disillusioning. That was disappointing. That’s all there really is to say for me. I hope we seize opportunities this year whether in the CC or FA because we need to win a trophy; I think that will give us more confidence

You’ve obviously thought it through, take a bit further and I think she’s missed out bigtime then on the chance of selling a sextape.

  72. Keyser

choy – But she could have done more to spice it up, if she was filming it.

She could have done it in nightvision, it’d be like that fim Rec

Im hoping Kos is fast tracking his strength training.

I really like the look of him, but without strength he wont be able to be world class.

  74. Limestonegunner

Gambon, I hope so too–he says in the ATVO interview that he is already working on the strength training and recognizes it as a need. He seems to have a good, quietly confident attitude-not bothered by Squillaci joining the team. He seems calm under pressure. What do you think of his aerial abilities?

  75. Stu

Davies wont bully anyone because we’re at home and dominate against most teams when we’re the home side.

Koscielny will be great once he’s added the strength because he already has the reading of the game. If he cant intercept he will just push the oppo player off the ball (legally of course).

ANB, I wish we bought some more this year but exactly which buys have been so terrible? Usually Wenger seems to buy good players when he does go into the transfer market. Vermaelen, Arshavin are good players. We’ll see with Koscielny, Squillaci and Chamakh, but so far the signs are pretty good.

The first really big test this season, though, will be Chelsea. We’ll know more by then.

  77. gambon

I like the fact that our CBs all ‘like’ to head the ball.

I thought Gallas was a great defender and Kolo had his strengths, but neither liked to head the ball.

  78. A

ANB I guarantee he could kick the crap out of you!

Yeah gambon it’s an interesting change. Looking forward to seeing squillaci. The league cup side could be interesting this year, bit older than usual, and more quality
