Let’s first of all clear up this Wilshere incident, someone was attacking a bird in Kensington, he stepped in to save her and now the police want to use him as a witness, he is a hero, so I wish the press will stop the rabid dog headlines and leave him alone, I would make him champ of the week but the way Theo has started, that wouldn’t be fair.
CHAMP OF THE WEEK, THEO WALCOTT! BY A COUNTRY MILE.
Cesc is playing badly by his standards, so when the boss took him off, it was understandable he was fed up, he is our captain, he doesn’t want to go off, let’s not forget he stopped us going one down though, once the window closes he’ll step up, don’t worry about that.
What did amaze me was he handed the armband to Song, who handed it to Vermaelen, who handed it to Almunia, that to me is humiliating him, he has twice tried to replace him, giving him the armband is taking the mick and I wish he would stop doing it.
Pedro said yesterday that our defence was all over the place again, he is right, I wouldn’t say it was Koscielny’s fault, yes he was skinned, but Sagna should have been there, the real issue is that for me he is not the centreback we need, he is too much like Vermaelen and even he is not the Tony Adams type we need, maybe Kozzer will end up as a DM, either way it’s not working at the back. Arsene, you have 2 days, don’t mess about again, go and get a keeper and a centre back and do it today.
I expect Schwarzer to sign today, he has told Hughes he wants away and Given was managed by Hughes, so providing City let Given go, then the merry-go-round will begin. Squillaci has signed already, but I’d like another one. Big strong, no nonsense centre back plus a decent keeper and I’ll be happy.
Other than the same old problem at the back, I thought we looked so much stronger in the middle, all bigger and stronger and less likely to get knocked off the ball by the EPL bullies.
I am concerned about Robin though, is he brittle or unlucky? I now think he is brittle, and when you add Bendtner to that I don’t think we have enough up front, we could do with a forward, we have no one coming through so we need to bring someone in, Adebayor anyone? He can’t get a game at the moment, ha, ha, oh and I am kidding!
The good news is that Robin only twisted his ankle, so he’ll be back, and Chamakh is an able replacement so I’m not too fussed, but we are only in August and I am concerned.
Well no football for a few weeks but I have no doubts we will be glued to the internet until late Tuesday evening, have a great day Grovers, it will soon be over.

G STAR….you’re such a tease
I’ll Be Back – G STAR
LOL Speaking of the devil …
such a bullshit rumour Gstar!!!
Messi tomorrow unveiled as the secret superstar signing!!!
http://www.arsenal.com/finallywegotmessi
Whats this talk of us getting a keeper. We only have 1 target, in an average goalkeeper in MS.
Man City won’t indirectly strengthen us by leting Given go so as to pave the way for Shwarzer.
So all we’ve done is chase an average kepper all summer, undermine the confidence of 2 goal keepers who’s confidence was in a a millionn little pieces to begin with and this ‘saga’ will end with no new keeper and 2 keepers who knows the manager has ABSOLUTELY no confidence in them and they are only around because he couldn’t find anyone else.
Top management that.

All these teams are teams that Arsenal will or could meet during the season…
I here Given is refusing to go to Fulham, so this means Schwarzer WILL not be allowed to come to us….truth???
….and Stockdale is out injured, so Fulham WILL NOT aalow Marky Schwarzer leave for his beloved Arsenal…
Looks like the Schwarzer deal is going down the swanny!! Ah well Loris it is so ……..
Tomorrow will be one hell of a day.
not sure if MS is a 100% nailed on
Its Mark Hughes acting like a twat.
what if we dont get MS
If we dont get Schwarzer then it will be as you were id imagine. Almunia as No1 (shakes head) and a decision to be made on who is backup and whos going out on loan.
Then its Almunia as no.1
Or Wenger pulls a rabbit out of the hat at the last minute…how likely is that though.
why cant scescny be number 1.
If we don’t get Schwarzer?
Well, invest in antacids and alcohol for a season full of, “Oh sheet…it’s another corner kick.”
ritesh – i doubt scescny is ready for epl…
i think we should go for this Bologna keeper. he is really frustrating inter milan. he has made a lot of high profile saves and is overbreeding with confidence
ritesh
Do you really need to be told what happens if MS doesn’t come?
YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH.
later guys..
so the bad news has filtered around then
robin out for 4 weeks
if his injury record continues throughout the season then he needs shipping out in summer
our squad aint big enough to accommodate a striker who cant play week in week out
RVP Is Muslim? i thought it was only his wife was Muslim and he had no religion?
we would be better off with rvp shipped and an average player on board over a season…at least he would be thr to play.
MS…i hope he signs….surely fulham have a back up plan if given does not come!!!
one question for all. is it more profitable to be a yoyo team like west brom than stay in the PL? If your ambition is to make money is that more profitable?
I know teams who get promotion to the PL receive a lot of money.
if a keeper aint signed tomorrow its fucking disgracefull
wat a circus its been for us in terms of keepers
Chris beef:
He is a muslim.
RVP married a Moroccan…And converted
wellington, that’s just what it is going to be,DISGRACEFULl because we ain’t signing no keeper now…………..bollocks.
RVP does seem to be far to injury prone for my liking. Then…When he gets back…He isn’t his self…It has to be said though, when he’s had a run he is one hell of a player
Why can’t Drogba or Rooney get injured as much as him though
I hope Chamakh is not as crock as RVP as he is also a Moroccan
I posted in the wrong thread but what the fuck is it with Van Persie?
he has to go, we just cannot rely on him.
Love the player but he’s played about 20 minutes of football for us this season and he’s out for a month.
fuck that, see you later Robin.
Sill don’t get why Cham was a non starter v Blackeye.
We can’t rely on Rvp anymore it’s obvious with him that he should be a sub
Just one injury away from Arsh playing upfront!
Big Dave
RVP is a much better player, thats why he will start ahead of Chamakh.
I agree his fitness is getting ridiculous, and if this continues he will have to be sold, and replaced with a world class striker.
When is the savior Bendtner returning from his two week lay off!!
ridiculous if wenger leaves it to the final hours tomorrow and then rushes through a ‘bargain’ and its nerve racking seeing if its all done in time.. unless of course he wanted al in goal after all
just one almunia fuck up away from dropping out the top 4.
Nov reggie
Fucking hell that’s really bleak!!
Heard this Viviano guy had a stormer against Inter tonight. We were linked to him in the past. Well even if Given doesn’t want to go to fulham I heard Fulham are looking for alternatives such as Federici of reading so basically they’ve given up on keeping Schwarzer one would assume.
Surely wenger needs to get a replacement for van persie we cant keep on going down the same route season after season!!
Am I right in thinking that Liverpool sold Maschrano for 18 million 2 or 3 years after paying 20-25 million for him off that chap Kia something? If so thats shocking business.
Now that the RVP news has me down I read this for a pick me up……..
Sweet baby Jebus, my head hurts. Make it go away. People expect me to write about yesterday. What the hell can I remember?
Just after two, arrive at the ground and buy the most expensive scarf on the planet and gloves for a mate on the Eurostar. Head for the pub. ‘Pint of Guinness please’. Mate texts. ‘We’re in the Italian’. Off I go . Pasta and a carafe of red wine. “My treat ‘holic.” Happy Christmas, indeed. More Guinness. Lots more Guinness, then off to ground.
Ladbrokes. “Still 7/1 for 3-0?”. The ‘holic pound and a bunch of his mates are invested. Find seat. Forty-four minutes of drudgery follow. We are not very good, and Hull are worse. Hunt is late on Almunia. Bennett lets him off. “Unusual to see that little bastard attempt to maim a ‘keeper” is the best line of a poor half until the Tigers goad us with “You’re rich, and you’re miserable“. Very good.
Hunt involved in handbags on the stroke of half-time wakes the miserable ones. Denilson floats it beautifully into the corner. “One nil to the Arsenal“. I’ve seen empty seats behind the visitors bench. I’m going that way at half time, swigging from a flask of Grouse as I go.
Perfect, I’m a few yards from the son of Allardyce. Strangely though the crowd are letting him have a quiet time. Then a passing breeze catches some twat in a yellow shirt and he stumbles. What? Penalty? You’re having a giraffe. The orange one cavorts in front of us, punching the air and laughing. He runs toward us, gloating.
Manuel saves. He is back to his best today. Time for retribution. Thousands of voices fill the bitterly cold night air. “Stand up, if you hate Phil Brown“. More whisky.
We’ve been longing for an Eduardo goal. Diaby and Song set him up. 2-0. “Sacked in the morning, you’re getting sacked in the morning.” Brownie’s ears are warming up, despite the falling temperature. More whisky.
“Liar, liar what’s the score, liar, what’s the score?“. It’s relentless now, and massive fun. Phil Dowd and the television people are even chuckling. Diaby fires in a cracker. That’s the bet secure if the silly buggers don’t score again. “Tango, Tango, what’s the score, Tango, what’s the score?”
There’s a real danger we could add to three. Theo and Aaron go very close. I don’t care about the money. The crack is now fantastic. “You’re not very brown, you’re not very brown, you’re not very, you’re not very, you’re not very brown!“. The neutrals next to the Hull bench are in tears of laughter.
Then the evil henchman finally makes an appearance. It’s Alan Davies and his mates who spot him first. “Brian, wave to us Brian.” Horton stares ahead, embarrassed. “Come on Brian, how about a duet with that orange twat? I wanna go ho-o-ome, this is the best trip, I’ve ever been on!” The game is forgotten.
With one eye on the clock, the best song of all. “Cesc in a minute, you’re seeing Cesc in a minute.” Even the Hull bench turn round and giggle at that one. The final whistle blows, Arsene races over to shake the hand of the vanquished. That’s another lie put to bed.
Join the queue at Ladbrokes. Someone in front of me says we must all have read Goonerholic this morning. I smile, but don’t own up. A fistful of dollars accompanies me back to the pub where several more Guinni hit the spot, and some fabulous people provide engaging company.
Back to the train. More whisky. Taxi. Stumble through the door.
“Good day, love?’
“Magical, sweetheart, magical.”
It’s not been such a great day for everyone. Text arrives from Eurostar mate. ‘Just got to Ebbsfleet’. Poor sod. I’ll keep the gloves until the United game!
Sometimes it’s hard to judge when a player gets injured. But I was asking for a Remy signing. He could play up top or play on the right or left.
Love holic’s read
We won’t sign any gk or a striker.
And tomorrow Wenger will tell us that we can win the league and that we almost signed Swartzer.
Do you believe that then Maciek?
I don’t believe it
I would love to see us signing a gk and a striker with cdm as well, but Wenger has had enough of time and I think he has failed.
We are making 3m bid for Swarter, but we could get Benalio, Adler, Akinfeev, Frey, etc.
A world class cdm and striker is also badly needed.
We will see, but I fear we won’t sign any more players.
Hope, I’m wrong.
-Benalio
-Inler or Diarra( not Lass),
-Forlan or Suarez
We can only hope.
I’d take Schwarzer and Inler, Mamadou diarra or Matuidi on loan.
the only one i think that has any chance is schwarzer and that is highly unlikely.
Im not even going to bother checking online till about this time tomorrow night, its not worth it.
Melo, Suarez and Given will do for me!!
Has Schwarzer fucking signed yet ffs! You’re pushing it mighty close Wenger!
stu he’s not signing now 8-(
Say it aint so Dan!
Cite your source!
my sauce goes by the name of TWITTER
Phew, you had me worried there for a minute.
the deal at the mo is,given is staying at city.so i think it’s all gone a bit pete tong m8……..who knows tho,we will just have to wait n see.
RVP should be sold lads, the guy is arsenal but he doesnt score enough or play enough yo justify him being the mighty Arsenals first choice striker.
Almunia in goal isnt the worst thing you know, shwarzer is not really any better if at all.. the thing is wenger has left EVERYTHING too late, from centre backs to gk’s to dm’s the guy shorely didnt think he could relie on our players being fit
nasri/rvp/bendtner ETC all injured with only 3games played.. no wonder fabregas always has a face on
Sell VP? Thats a little extreme isnt it. With the new GPS thing we should be able to cut down on the injuries and VP is one of the best players in the world, let alone forwards. His assist for Theo was magnificent, outside of the boot and inch perfect.
Sell one of the few players who loves arsenal and actually has the talent too? Utter lunacy!
Bendtner! Bendtner! Bendtner!
His Royal Pinkiness is the messiah people.
rvp does not effect the game the way torres or drogba or rooney do when he steps on the pitch
he is good, but too expensive to be kept only to play 15games a season..
he has’nt played 100 games for us yet….in 6 seasons….nuff said…evra has that in a year and a half…
Torres is equally as injury prone as VP so thats not one in your favour. Before this past weekend Rooney hasnt scored since March partly due to injury (he played the whole WC for england) and partly due to being overhyped, he only scored a penalty ffs.
And Drogba is one of the best CFs in the world and never injuried. He is a fucking beast of a man and cant be contained by any defenders because of it. VP is a whole different player. He relies on ability rather than physique and sacrificies himself for the good of the team. Im sure if he just stayed in the box and just shot he would easily stay injury free and rack up 30 a season like Rooney who scored all of his goals from inside the box last season.
Who hasnt played 100 games for us Colonel Mustard?
I hope you’re not talking about VP, who made his 200th appearance in an arsenal shirt on saturday.
Interesting suggestion at 20:17, Gambon. Why not offer them Chesney on loan plus the case for Schwarzer? Maybe they would go for it and chesney could fight for a place with Stockdale.
league starts stu…
i dont give a toss bout any other comp..
RvP is quality. Tell me who Wenger would replace him with, especially since he isn’t going to command a 25 Million pound fee, is he.
When he was fit last year he was having his best spell at Arsenal, scoring goals and making assists like no one in the league.
Maybe he is getting his quota of knocks and injury time out of the way early on! If he is back for CL group games games away and Braga at home, we will be fine. Look at the schedule–we don’t face the toughest teams until later and Chamakh is going to grow better and better.
Well he’s got 134 games in the prem. Is that good enough?
Rohan, Bendtner might be out longer than RvP. He is no saviour at this point. He is part of the problem–we have two healthy central strikers–Vela and Chamakh. We might end up seeing a bit of Walcott in there–his second goal v. Blackpool came with back to goal receiving the ball in the box with a nifty turn and strike. That’s striker play! But, I’d rather not see that at this point if we can help it.
iamgooner, he doesn’t affect the play the same way as Rooney and Drogba (leave Torres out, he has been injured so much the last two seasons) because he is a totally different kind of player and Arsenal play completely differently from both those teams. Evidence of how influential RvP was to Arsenal’s attack was teh first few months of the season. How many strikers could score those goals, make that many assists and play in our team concept to set up so many goals from midfield players?
Yes, I am really upset that we lost him last year and that he already has an ankle injury this year, but he might not miss that many games. And unlike last year, we have a central striker in Chamakh who can actually play the way we need the front man to play, with the right game and skills to do a decent job.
busy on the stats there stu…….24 matches his best record. its not a criticism…he is quality.but dont see him getting fitter over next few seasons.
yeah guys i dont want you to think i am saying he isnt good enough, because im not, of course he is quality!
all im saying is he doesnt score enough to justify the months at a time he has recovering from injury.. hes not even scored 50 goals for us! main striker? yeah right..
“yes but he has been unlucky with injuries” yes he has.. but 5 seasons running? i think its silly to think RVP will go throught the season without many more injuries
Can people PLEASE just check the stats before they comment on players.
VP has 73 goals for us.
Yes injuries have ruined his career so far but he is world class when fit imo.
He isnt about only goals now. He has 38 assists over all, which isnt great but he cant be faulted for other people missing what he sets up.
The start of last season was the best we’ve seen of VP imo. This formation is designed to make the most of his abilities and the stats certainly prove it. Last season before his injury he had – 14 starts 8 goals 8 assists and probably set up dozens of chances. The man is world class, selling him is and should be out of the question.
stu where you getting your stats from?
pre-season goals dont count
No fucking goalie then. What a fucking disgrace
From soccernet and arse.com. The stats are legit.
wenger makes a last ditch 4 million pounds move for swarzer….lolzz, really ridiculous. why didnt he bid this amount since? now it might be too little too late
i thought rvp married a turkish
what’s a turkish?
Morning Doods!
I hate to say this, but this guy is now so unreliable as to actually be a hindrance in the pursuit of winning something;
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/a/arsenal/8954958.stm
Great great player that he CAN be, what’s the point if he misses 30, 40, 50, 60% of every season. Whatever’s left of each season he manages to play for us is not enough, not enough to win something that is.
The shite from N17 are reportedly trying to get the Togo Twat on loan from Citeh….
Ha fucking ha! How the ‘mighty’ have fallen, Birmingham are trying to sign Hleb for £4-£5m!!
why would City strenghten there Spuds,as top4 competitor for them..
Rattus Norvegicus!
bhoonchdikey
They probably wouldn’t in all honesty, but unlike us, at least that scum from up the road are trying to improve their squad……
Schalke have just completed the £10.5m signing of Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from AC Milan,
Hmmmmmm………….Bakrichod…………
Chee…i am not into a animarl ala Bakri…
bakri means goat in urdu/hindi
*animal
we have shown ambition to get few players like 3 experienced guys this time…but we need more…will arsenal give 1million extra to win a trophy …
TBH Sab, The Hunter probably needs to drop back down to that level, if only to rebuild his career.
He’s obviously either out of his depth at a big club like AC or he’s just been unlucky a la Bergkamp.
IMO it’s the latter, for me i’d have him as third choice CF in fron of Bentner.
Dennis
i like huntelaar,experienced,poacher..add to dat bendy is proving to be CROCK
I just wish this goddamn window shuts ASAP, and let us live in peace with reality that we will be watching every game of this season with nervousness….
^
thanks to almunia/fabiaski…
If your ambition is to tread water, and attempt to maintain the status quo, in that you are just trying to ensure ECL football, then yes we have shown ambition. However, do you really see these ‘additions’ (and i use that word lightly as i’m not going to go into the players in/players out debate) enabling us to overhaul ManUre and the Chavs?
These additions will not help us overhaul unless we get a proper Keeper…
time and time again its proved last season,we lost the season becos of keeper…
http://www.imscouting.com/global-news-article/Arsenal-left-back-Armand-Traore-completes-Juventus-loan-move-/10156/?
Some Bad News if it comes true
Shay Given chooses to stay at Manchester City and fight for No1 place
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/aug/30/shay-given-stays-manchester-city
so Fulham dont get Given/replacement and shwarzer Doesnt come to arsenal.
Another one out of the club to balance the Book Keeper’s books, no wonder he gets a 20% salary increase!
if its becos of that 20%, i hope that slave Arsenal board, puts in 50% salary increase if he wins the title….
From BBC
———
From Anon, via text: “I work for Arsenal in an unnamed capacity and while transfers in seem unlikely, one that seems certain to go through is Jay Emmanuel-Thomas to Sunderland on loan until Christmas.
fuck me hleb to the brum….that bloke is an idiot…talk about a fall from grace.
Morning all, today is moving day I hope.
Morning Geoff
