Almunia not happy with the uncertainty regarding the number 1 spot! Nor are we Manuel, nor are we.

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Join the club sunshine, that’s how we’ve felt for years, it seems that Schwarzer is the one that will be coming and not Shay Given, I can only think that the boss is going for height and Given did do his shoulder in last season, so could be a crock, also I think that Chezzer is the long term future for Arsenal.

It’s not as though Almunia hasn’t been given chances, over and over again he has mixed brilliance with clangers, that rubs off on the team and they go into panic mode when the ball goes past them, why the boss has taken so long to work that out is a mystery, sort it out this week and all will be forgiven, keep the status quo and it will cost us.

Reina’s howler on Sunday did indeed prove that those upstairs support the Arsenal, he was the bald bastardo that thought it was funny sticking a Barca shirt on our captain, well there’s a saying we have in England, what goes around, comes around, so ha, ha, ha! It came around!

Taylor came up as the possible centreback we are looking at from England, I like him and he does have that dirty streak in him that we lack, but I can’t see Wenger going for him as he isn’t the instant answer we need.

Maybe Cahill is also on the radar, we’ll find out soon enough, maybe today? Who knows? Arsene knows though, eh?

I expect Cesc and Robin to be back for the Blackpool game and Djourou should fill in for Koscielny as I think he’ll be suspended. I still have no idea what is wrong with either Song or Denilson but Diaby gives the ball away more than any footballer I have ever seen, shame because he is gifted, footballing wise though, he’s just not that bright.

Arsene has been complaining how hard it is to sign players, well maybe had he started in May instead of going to the world cup it would have been easier. We sure do need 2 centrebacks and a keeper urgently, I get the idea we are getting a keeper this week, I  just hope the centrebacks aren’t far behind.

David Seaman thinks we need to have a keeper that instills a bit of confidence in the side, at last someone has spoken, lets just hope the person who counts is listening, we got away with it on Sunday, we wouldn’t have if we were playing a better team and there are plenty of those around this season.

Have a great day Grovers, today could be the day!

“Bale plays a cute ball in to Pavlyuchenko but the angle is too tight and he can only hit the side netting.”

Spuds are fairies! FACT! Bale plays a cute ball “into” Pavlyuchenko “butt” the angle is too “tight” and he can only hit the side netting????

  2. David

So Ozil has signed for Mourinho.

Good news…hope he doesnt sit on the bench for the rest of his career.

Did anyone get a chance to see Christian Erikson in the second half?

  3. DaleDaGooner

wow treze13…I can laugh at the Spuds FOR being relegated, and still be happy that a more realistic European cup can be won.

I have to say that, for once, American sportsmen interview so much better, it’s as if the NFL, Baseball and Basketball players have all been to media school, whereas our soccer players learn and speak their own dialect of English.

treze13 – always look to our fortunes – f**k spurs i dont care where they finish – its their ambition to be like The Arsenal – just look at their statement about the champions league (which they actually havent even qualified for yet) we want to finish better than Arsenal.

  7. red arse

Schwarzer is coming!!!I live near his dad here in oz and the word is that it is a done deal…goodbye manuel hello silverware…or at least a few clean sheets

  8. Big Dave

So MS may arrive in time for Blackburn away, he is better then we got allready but he is not the answer to the problem

  9. Stu

The answer to our GK problem was to buy a world class one when Jens left rather than hope Almunia was good enough.

3 years of that twat in goal costing us titles.

  10. A

    who is then Big Dave?!

There isn’t a single player out there imo who is the answer more than Schwarzer, apart from Reina perhaps

  11. Big Dave

That’s the thing Am not sure. Obviously Joe Hart but that will never happen of cause.

This should had been dealt with 3 yr ago.

More interesting is who will be the new CB? Will we splash the cash for a top player.

  12. Dan,The Gooner.

”not usually the kind of person who has inside knowledge but know a few of the youth team players and said mark schwarzer has been at colney”

  13. DeiseGooner

Schwarzer might not be THE answer, because of his age. But then again there are high hopes for Szczesny from within the club. So my thinking on it is Schwarzer on a 2 year deal with Szczesny being blooded in so hes not raw at the top level for an eventual handover. So maybe Szczesny is THE answer BUT Schwarzer is AN answer….

  14. Moray

a ha ah ahhh ahha hha. Just saw the score of the spuds match from last night.

What a bunch of chancers. What I wouldn’t give for them to be knocked out at the qualification stage against a Swiss team.

It’s almost as good as if we had just signed a goalkeeper who wasn’t shithouse…

  15. Moray

oh that has made my day.

They are linked with Luis Fabiano and Gallas.

If they fail to qualify for the CL, then they will have to settle for a pound of grapes and a reacharound. (Both of which arguably would be better than signing Gallas)

  16. Moray

so Milner goes for 26m and Ozil for around 16m.

and they wonder why we don’t buy English players.

the new rules will serve simply to push up the prices for English players even more.

That is a good purchase for Real Madrid. But I wonder where it leaves Kaka when he returns from injury. Perhaps he would like to test himself in English football? i wouldn’t want to kill off Diaby though…he is progressing so well haha

  17. Moray

    I hope so, David.

But, knowing us, we will wait till next summer when he is going on a free, then offer him 20 bob a week.

  18. el tel

I keep saying Kaka will be our marquee signing. He must be on the move along with a few others as they won’t be getting games.

Maureen simply doesn’t play with luxury players.

  19. Socrates

    Morning all,

Madrid has become a revolving door for players and managers, dont know how much joy the fans get from watching their team play, the only generation of players that I can name the whole starting eleven was when Zidane was playing, I have even lost interest in watching them play, its like the players who sign want to get success quickly without having to work for it, the only names assured of starting are Cassilas, Ramos and Ronaldo. Madrid is just business right now not a football club with tradition.

    YB 3-0 TOT

  20. Socrates

So AW says to win the league you need ‘experience and potential’, hmmm!, don’t how how much potential the Chavs had when they won the league last season or United had when they won the two seasons before that. I think sometimes AW need to breed talent exceeds his need to win trophies…

  21. Moray

good point, Socrates. Potential is for the future, and that is nto what you need to win the title.

The Chavs will romp the league this year IMO. And they have about as much potential as a nun’s butthole.

He is still rattling on about the team reaching the right age. Well, that’s all very good, but how many are actually improving year-on-year? Walcott, Clichy, Denilson, Diaby, Sagna…if anything, this bunch seem to be getting worse.

  22. MickyDidIt89

    Sam,
Not if Real was his preferred destination. He may prefer the sun on his back and a guarranteed CL Winners medal.

  23. MickyDidIt89

    Moray,
Kind of agree about those players you list actually getting worse, however with the exception of Sagna, I can’t see any of them being first choice starters soon.
I think Chamakh and Ros ahead of Theo.
    Gibbs ahead of Clichy
Rambo/Nasri alongside Song ahead of Den/Diaby

  24. MickyDidIt89

    Sam,
    Who’s your hard earned on?
Lets face it, that Maureen bloke knows how to beat the teams that matter. Ok, its nothing more than a semi educated hunch, but if I was Ozil for example, and CL medal was what I was after, it would be the Bernabau for me.

  25. Chef

Why are all you Arsenal fans whining the same crap in every single Arsenal blogs and websites our there? “We need a new keeper, cb, hart, given”..well sorry but that ain’t gonna happen. If Wenger goes spending 10-20 million on keepers and CBs that’s another way he’s admitting his bullshit youth policy has failed, to go out and buy players with experience. So stop these dumb comments, it will never happen.

Liverpool game was nothing, was a typical Arsenal performance on 1st day of the season. And diaby wow, so horrible was his touch.
Watching Eboue play is embarrassing, I can’t think of a player like him in the footballing world who’s so shit, his fake acting makes me want to go support another club. good god Wenger, you have successfully made Arsenal look like a clown club.

  26. Moray

Micky, yes, it is very civilised around this sort of time.

Normally Jaguar is on here waxing lyrical about how beautiful it is to be alive, the sun has got his hat on etc etc. His cynicism only kicks in along with the new posting….

  27. chozzer

Real or Barca are always a more attractive prospect than England….less tax, better climate, less chance of being kicked to fuck and a guaranteed league winners medal every other year.

  28. Moray

haha I like the idea of a clown club.

Sent off for squirting water in Rooney’s face with a prosthetic flower. Then covering Fat Frank with a bucket of sawdust. And finally, firing Walcott out of a cannon – best thing for him.

not bad, but i am unsure of thiago silva, is he the one they signed?
