Here we go, here we go, the waiting is over, let’s go and win this today.

The longest break in Premiership history is at an end, today the season begins, and if it isn’t the longest break, it sure feels like it!

Will we have enough to beat Liverpool at home, hmmm, not sure, but a draw is the very least we have to get, a win with another under strength team would be a cracking result but a loss would be a massive downer.

The boss says whoever is number 1 today will be his regular number 1, I hope not because we still need a proper new keeper, I now hope that is Given. I have a feeling it won’t be, so whoever it is, and I would go with Almunia today, I hope he has a blinder, because today he’ll need to.

Probable line up today if fit.

Almunia

Sagna Koscielny Vermaelen Clichy

Song

Theo Nasri Diaby

Arshavin Chamakh

If not Song then Frimpong will play and if it were me, I would play Gibbs and Eboue as the full backs and Wilshere instead of Diaby.

I hope Fabregas and RVP are on the bench, Pedro thinks they will be and he got Wenger’s contract spot on, so expect the bench to be packed with quality today, and don’t forget Rosicky, he has a good record against the scousers, maybe he’ll feature today as well.

Koscielny and Vermaelen need a big game today, show us all why the boss was right to buy just one to start the season, good luck to them both, they aren’t playing against a great forward line, more of a tricky one.

This was said by Arsene yesterday, ‘People say Manchester City have invested £100m, and we have invested £8m, and if we do not win it’s a scandal’ he says that with a wry laugh.

Thing is boss, no one says that, what we say is if you had signed 2 or 3 decent players last season we would have won the league, what we say now is if we signed a decent centre back and a decent keeper, we would win the league. So no one is advocating spending £100mil, you have built a team capable of winning everything, all it needs is a couple of decent inexpensive additions.

Now, that we haven’t or won’t, that is the real scandal. So stop being a drama queen and get your cheque book out.

Good travelling to all you boys going today, if we apply ourselves we can win with our reserves, get at them quickly because thug boy Gerrard has said they will get in our faces and stop us playing. Wanker.

Time to stand up and be counted Arsenal, time to show your fans why your boss refuses to buy, we’ll be behind you, we’ll be willing you on, today is a new season, the slate is clean and you all have a chance to make your mark, your boss believes you are ready, so go and show him why he’s right.

Never in the field of football has so much been expected of so few, time to believe boys, I do! (Winston Churchill)

Have a great day Grovers, wherever in the world you are, let them hear you today!

seriously, diaby wasn’t that bad, he did a mistake or two but he hold his position, and he was unfit!

we didn’t have much of a choice did we?

That’s the problem, we should have more options. Diaby just isn’t up to scratch, he’s got a good player in him but he just wastes possession and gives the ball away way too much. I don’t understand why a club like ours should have to drag along players who just aren’t good enough, it should be as simple as; if your not good enough to play then you gotta go.

This is what i noticed from Koz yesterday:

    1. Very Quick

    2. Very good on the ball and calm. He never panicks

    3. Good passer. Specially releasing eboue few times on the right even when under pressure.

    However,

    1. He need time to get stuck againts players like Dogba and Ruuny.

    2. We need to see him against a time applying a constant pressure as well.

I’m sorry man, but ‘unfit players’ , ‘not nuch to choose from’…………and, who fucking fault is that eh? The prick in charge, Mr i won’t pay over the odds!!

The real travesty of the opening game wasn’t how crap Diaby or Almunia or Eboue is, it’s actually that with two or three proper purchases we would’ve beaten that pile of shite masquerading as a Liverpool team. So, for me Arsene Wenger, for whatever his reasons, is holding this club back.
