Arsenal are once again being linked to a number of players, when will we realise that we are a big team and we need big players? Given I like, but I would have liked him 2 years ago, he will still be a good signing until Chezzer is ready, but will he admit that what we have is not good enough, going after Shwarzer has already told our keepers they aren’t good enough, what that has done to their already fragile confidence is beyond me, but even when we had the impressive young Pole in for the second half our defence still wasn’t good enough.
We need a tried and tested big centre back, not an ageing Bosnian that plays for a rubbish French side, Sakho I would have, Meretsacker I would have, Cahill I would have, I would even have Mexes or Zapata, but I sure hope we get someone, Koscielny is very similar to Vermaelen and a good buy, but not good enough to line up alongside him. Djourou is a crock and although I like him, I’m not sure he will make it.
Going forward we are as good as anyone, but defence has been our problem for the last 4 years and we don’t appear to have done anything about it, again.
We have Diaby, Song and Denilson that haven’t played one game in pre-season and that’s a worry, I don’t want to go into another season wobbling at the start, we still have time and I really hope he spends some money, there is no justification for not, especially after watching us leak 5 goals in a pre-season friendly against a championship side, I can’t remember us ever conceding 5 goals against a rubbish side, ever, and it’s reminiscent of the time we went down 6-1 to the Mancs when we had Igor Stepanovs in the side.
Signing a Premiership defender would do it, Cahill would cost little in relation to winning the league, and he wouldn’t break the bank, he’s been called into the England set up and is highly rated, I’m sure if we offered Jack Wilshere on a 6 month loan we could get him for a song. Not that I want us to do that, but knowing how tight the club are, a deal like that may do it.
I would also have Sakho, or Zapata or Mexes, anyone tall that can tackle will be better than what I saw against Celtic or Warsaw. Come on Arsene, get one of those guys, we are Arsenal, we have the money, we aren’t asking for a £28million player, just one that knows how to defend and a keeper.

I think we look as good going forward now as we did when we had Dennis, Robert, Freddie and Thierry, add a couple of decent players and we can take the prizes, Man City will be up there and so will the Mancs, Chavs and the Spuds, don’t let pride get in the way.
