This is my final suggestion on the Cesc situation Arsene, you need to read and act on it, as I think it’s a good one.

Go and spend £20mil on Ozil, or whatever it takes, he’ll only get better and for me he is as good as I’ve seen in that playmmaker attacking type role, he won’t extend his Bremen contract, so he wants out, he hasn’t gone so far as to ask to leave, like Cesc has, so he has some loyalty but he wants out, no one has enquired, so get in quick and spend what it takes.

Yes I know his dream is to play for Barca, but they can’t have everyone, and tell me a player outside of Ray Parlour and Benik Afobe who doesn’t want to play for Barcelona.

If Cesc then wants to stay as he won’t get past Iniesta or Xabi, then great, if not, put him on the transfer list, I know he only wants Barca, but if Madird come in with a bag of cash, then Barca will up their bid, if not, he’ll know how we feel about him,  he’ll take the money and sod off to Madrid.

I really do wish Arsenal would start acting like a big club and not Barca’s bitch, if they stood up for themselves then indirectly they would be standing up for their players and ultimately their fans. Is that too much to ask?

I watched the first half of the Spain game last night and didn’t see Cesc on, I suspect he got on in the second half, but he should take a long hard look into the future there, because he will need to take a cushion with him if he went to Barca, as he would spend most of his career on their bench.

Barca are also after Ozil, that’s if they can’t get Cesc, so let’s help them, we have much more money than they do, they can’t have them both and frankly, for his age, and Cesc’s show of loyalty, I would sooner have Ozil.

I really don’t want Madjid Bougherra, I know he did a job on England, but that wasn’t hard was it, they’re a shite team, but don’t forget before he played for Rangers, he played for Charlton, I’m sure we could do better than him, maybe now Hodgson has gone, we should go back in for Hangeland.

Either way we should wave goodbye to Campbell, I don’t want a player that flirts with other clubs, pure and simple, I like Sol, but he’s not got another two years in him, maybe one and then use him as a defensive coach, but not as a player. You would have thought he would have learned from his experience with Notts County wouldn’t you?

Anyway Arsene, you have a solution there for Cesc, move now before Real Madrid, City or Chelsea come in, I bet Ozil would jump at the chance, if not him, then get Gourcuff, or both if Cesc goes.

I would also go back for Melo, the thought of watching Denilson all over again fills me, and cesc with dread, at least someone bid for Song, it seems no one wants Denilson or Almunia, I wonder why?

    Geoff’s whining about “we should sell Cesc now” is getting old… I look forward to his change of tune when Cesc stays on next year and plays with his usual unquestionable class and passion for the club.

    I doubt he will “change his tune” JJ. A lot of peoples minds have been either made up or have a lot of doubt after this summers shenanigans over Cesc.

    Ok so Cesc hasnt come out and said he wants to leave but he hasnt said he doesnt want to leave either. Which is especially worrying because in the past he was always out immediately quashing any rumours.

    If he has time to say Barca is his home then he has time to say he isnt leaving Arsenal. The WC is no excuse to leave us fans with no definitive answer.

    Where are you seeing the full kit stu? I can only see the top which looks great. Admitedly it looks average on arshie but his weak stance doesn’t help.

    Cesc has come out and said he may still stay at arsenal!? May!? Not the kind of conviction I was hoping for, I’d rather silence to ‘may’!

    Hodgson to Liverpool is a good thing. We need united kept in check by the neighbours, besides it signals that they are broke as RH is a manager for teams with no budget. Mascherano will defo go, Torres likely as is steve g, we will spank em on the opening day! We always come out of the blocks firing.

    Do you really expect Cesc to respond EVERY time there is a rumour. IMO Cesc has already said what he needs to. That is, he would like to go to Barca one day. That maybe now or it maybe later. It is just like he said, it’s in the hands of the respective clubs. That doesn’t mean he does not love Arsenal. It just means that he also loves the club he started with.

    There is no point in Cesc coming out taday and saying that he is definitely staying if tomorrow Barca are going to offer a ridiculous sum of money that Arsenal can’t refuse… and vice versa – It is dangerous to say he wants to go now and then if the clubs can’t agree he is left in a bad position with the supporters.

    I say, give the kid a break. He is doing what any other intelligent person in his position would do.

    Wenger is in the same boat. No matter what he says, the opposite can still happen and he would end up looking like a fool. I would like to think Wenger is lining up a replacement in the background just in case Cesc does leave us. It makes no sense for him to come out and say that though…

    Cant be arsed arguing the cesc saga again JJ but I essentially disagree.

    All he has to say is declare his allegiance and future to arsenal. Not asking for a daily update, but this is the longest it’s gone and it’s disrespectful to an audience that would gladly invite him to shag their first born daughters.

    If he gets sold then clearly it’s a decision the board have taken based on fiscal benefit. Ultimately even by aligning himself to us and were he to finally go to barca, those fans wouldn’t care what’s been said if he’s banging in 15 goals a season.

    So it’s a no loss situation to put us at ease, esp as it also serves the function of enabling us to find a replacement on the quiet without clubs and agents driving the price up in anticipation of a big war chest supplemented by his sale.

    All the players in the pic are those that are in London as of now. Theo, Vermaelen, Song and Arshavin. Cesc, RvP are in SA and Nasri’s at the all you can eat buffet.
    I don’t see why people have to constantly come up with conspiracy theories and stuff…

    Back in the 80′s early 90′s DDM, the only people who played for Australia were either serbs or Croats, plus the odd Pommy expat. So that BB commentry says it all. The funny thing is, the back @ home here on SBS when we were playing Serbia, 3 of the “expert analysers” with Paul Dempsey all had names that ended with “ich”.

    You know, and slightly off topic, but i can’t get over our willingness to spend over £8m for a lower league defender, who has no track record of being able to step up a level, basically £8m+ for potential, what is it with our manager, is he scared of spending money on proven players coz if a player with potential fails it’s viewed less of a failure, fucking £8m+ Jesus, and probably anything between £25,000 and £45,000 per weeks for x years, or double that after he’s rewarded with an improved deal after one year of doing nothing, i’m in the wrong fucking business….

    Thats £29m, then Wenger claims he cant afford the likes of Torres etc.

    Walcott at £12m is far more ‘expensive’ than Torres at £24m.

    Fabio Capello looks set to survive as England head coach thanks to a groundswell of support among the Football Association hierarchy.

    Sir Dave Richards, the Premier League chairman who also heads the new ‘Club England’ national team project, is now being urged to recommend to the FA board Capello is kept on despite England’s World Cup failure.

    There is a feeling the blame for England’s disappointing performance and second round exit can be traced back to a lack of youth development, not Capello’s ability, and that a new manager would have the same problems as the Italian.

    It is understood Sir Trevor Brooking, the FA’s director of football development and a key figure in the process, wants Capello kept on for the rest of his contract until 2012. Brooking’s view is that replacing him with another manager will not solve the underlying problem with English football, and a number of FA board and international committee members are also of the same opinion.
