Use the money to buy Ozil and replace Campbell.

by & filed under Uncategorized.

This is my final suggestion on the Cesc situation Arsene, you need to read and act on it, as I think it’s a good one.

Go and spend £20mil on Ozil, or whatever it takes, he’ll only get better and for me he is as good as I’ve seen in that playmmaker attacking type role, he won’t extend his Bremen contract, so he wants out, he hasn’t gone so far as to ask to leave, like Cesc has, so he has some loyalty but he wants out, no one has enquired, so get in quick and spend what it takes.

Yes I know his dream is to play for Barca, but they can’t have everyone, and tell me a player outside of Ray Parlour and Benik Afobe who doesn’t want to play for Barcelona.

If Cesc then wants to stay as he won’t get past Iniesta or Xabi, then great, if not, put him on the transfer list, I know he only wants Barca, but if Madird come in with a bag of cash, then Barca will up their bid, if not, he’ll know how we feel about him,  he’ll take the money and sod off to Madrid.

I really do wish Arsenal would start acting like a big club and not Barca’s bitch, if they stood up for themselves then indirectly they would be standing up for their players and ultimately their fans. Is that too much to ask?

I watched the first half of the Spain game last night and didn’t see Cesc on, I suspect he got on in the second half, but he should take a long hard look into the future there, because he will need to take a cushion with him if he went to Barca, as he would spend most of his career on their bench.

Barca are also after Ozil, that’s if they can’t get Cesc, so let’s help them, we have much more money than they do, they can’t have them both and frankly, for his age, and Cesc’s show of loyalty, I would sooner have Ozil.

I really don’t want Madjid Bougherra, I know he did a job on England, but that wasn’t hard was it, they’re a shite team, but don’t forget before he played for Rangers, he played for Charlton, I’m sure we could do better than him, maybe now Hodgson has gone, we should go back in for Hangeland.

Either way we should wave goodbye to Campbell, I don’t want a player that flirts with other clubs, pure and simple, I like Sol, but he’s not got another two years in him, maybe one and then use him as a defensive coach, but not as a player. You would have thought he would have learned from his experience with Notts County wouldn’t you?

Anyway Arsene, you have a solution there for Cesc, move now before Real Madrid, City or Chelsea come in, I bet Ozil would jump at the chance, if not him, then get Gourcuff, or both if Cesc goes.

I would also go back for Melo, the thought of watching Denilson all over again fills me, and cesc with dread, at least someone bid for Song, it seems no one wants Denilson or Almunia, I wonder why?

Anyway, have a great day grovers, the world cup will soon be at an end and pre season can begin!

Just thought id list my 3 most hated beers

    1. Effes – tastes like actual donkey urine
    2. Budwieser – Yank urine
    3. Red Stripe – my urine

  2. Man

‘…integrated themselves well into society…deeply enough…’ sounds like secular fundamentalism. Living within communities does not have to be considered threatening, people would always gravitate to others with similar leanings…its always been like that whethr you Turkish or Huguenot French

  3. Adam

international football is just garbage anyway and should be abolished in favour of a world club competition every 4 years, it could be called “the world cup”

  4. Lurch LeRouge

Yup Rohan it does make a difference at an early age. It’s hard to qualify unless you’ve raised or taught 3 – 4 year olds how to read and count… Our system requires them to develop an understanding of an abstract concept right after learning a linear sequence and that can be confusing. It’s about efficiency of communication. Latin was essentially the most efficient language because it relied on 26 characters, and it’s that efficiency which has contributed to western scientific dominance.

  5. BillikenGooner

” incesc says: lets just scrap international football anyway and have a massive fight ”

Haven’t we tried that twice in the last hundred years?

  6. BillikenGooner

Due to my St. Louis background, I will try not to agree with you incesc about budweiser, however… there are sadly a lot worse American beers.

  7. Robin's Choco Leg Special

    coors, millers = piss water…

Sorry :( decent white wines and junipero gin is amazing from america.

the scouse fans dont seem too enamoured to hodgsons’ appointment.

they know he’ll have to sell before they buy…

  9. Arse&Nose©

    Anyone tried Mongozo beer?
its belgian but branded as african, comes in flavours like Coconut, banana, and mango.

They serve it to you in a bowl that looks like half a coconut.

  10. Robin's Choco Leg Special

A&N – They do the cocnut mongozo at a vegan retaurant called SAF next door to bar music hall in shoreditch…

It’s sweet and goes down luverly!

A bit girly but definantly better then fruli!

  11. Arse&Nose©

    RCLS -haha!

Finally , someone who knows what Mongozo is!

I had it in amsterdam in a restaurant, it was served to me in a fake coconut shell. Delicious.

  12. zeus

Haven’t even read the post BTW, and now, the parasites on goal.com ‘understands’ that Shwarzer will be brought in, but NOT AS A PLAYER, as a coach, ALMUNIA IT IS THEN.

This post had better had calm me down.

  13. Robin's Choco Leg Special

This bloke from city on skysports banging on about taking it further with the homegrown players etc making sure they are only british etc..

What a nonce! No other country needs to do it and it certainly isn’t going to guarentee england a european or world cup trophy..

I’m still convinced that if they are good enough they’ll make it.. It doesn’t need to be at a top 4 club and i think that’s really what the problem is…

Zeus – Valenica aren’t fucked… They’ll replace what they’ve lost with the funds and still get champions league. Albeit some 20-30 points behind barca/real…

  14. Wenger the liar

I just heard an update to the steven gerrard rumour.

Does everyone here know who the 16 year old is? am I the last to know?

  15. zeus

    Choy

Do we pay him double then. Either way, Why in the world don’t we just buy a strong gaolie like Frey?

Now we are banking on a kid with promise AGAIN. Knowing full well a goalie doesn’t really peak til about 30.

  16. Robin's Choco Leg Special

km – I wouldn’t trust anything goal.com comes out with.. They are more full of shit then the star, sun, mirror and tribalfootball put together…

Joe cole and his comments about playing through the centre point to cesc’s replacement.. ON A FREE FFS!!!

    I’m not having that 1 bit…

  17. choy

    Is this true?

Arsenal want to sign Manchester City pair, Nigel De Jong and Shaun Wright-Phillips. Both players haven’t played much since the arrival of Roberto Mancini. Nigel De Jong is a central midfielder whilst Shaun Wright-Phillips is a winger, both players have participated in this summer’s World Cup with their respective national team.

Roberto Mancini doesn’t consider them as indispensible so he would be ready to let them go if the right offer comes along. Arsenal have offered 27 million euros for the pair and now they are awaiting a reply from Manchester City.

  18. Robin's Choco Leg Special

WTL – I reckon that’s some made up tosh!

But being the bloke Gerrard is I wouldn’t put it past him… If he goes to madrid before the middle of july.. I reckon it’ll be true.

  19. zeus

    Robin

There is no striker to match Villa, and Silva was injured a lot anyway. But your right, their team is still good despite the losses.

Ever Banega, heir to the Argentine midfield post Veron (NOT GAGO), is still their.

  20. Robin's Choco Leg Special

choy – Take out SWP and replace him with Ireland and it might be true.

Why sign Wright-Phillips when he’s shite and we already have walcott, arshavin, nasri and rosicky?

  21. Robin's Choco Leg Special

What is it with 26 y/o grown spaniards and still living with their family, struggling to adapt being away from them etc..

ballague reckons he’ll struggle to adapt aswell. Has the makings of Reyes all over again!

  22. Wenger the liar

    RCLS -

Well mate I was thinking that too until I heard today that it will be lifted in the next two weeks and that the 16 year old girl is his missus little sister!

This is either really bad for him or one of the best internet lies I have heard.

  23. Robin's Choco Leg Special

zeus – of course villa is irreplaceable. However, La Liga is a shocking league competitivly. They’ll spend 1/5th of what they earned and still finish top 6 at worst!

  24. choy

De jong would be a good addition though..

I don’t know why the hell we’re even linked with another attacking player!!

  25. Robin's Choco Leg Special

WTL – The rags over here have no remorse.. The word was they’d hold on printing it untill the WC was over..

I’m sorry but the english media wouldn’t do that. They’d print it asap as an exclusive!

The Rooney and Gerrard a3:k pull out stories are

1: they don’t want to be shown up
2: rooney shagged a sa prozzie and gerrard has this 16 y/o pregnancy story floating about
3: they are just “tired” and need a holiday

dependant on your views of the players determines the 1,2 or 3 pick..

TBH no.2 wouldn’t suprise me. They are both bindipping scousers after all.

  26. Wenger the liar

    RCLS -

I am with you mate and then you hear about the super injunction etc.

As I said this will be big if true otherwise its a great chinese whisper.

  27. Robin's Choco Leg Special

incesc – Cole has bunrt his bridges now. If that is true, he’ll have to vacate these shores. Because having only chelsea fans who remotely respect you is not a seal of approval by any stretch of the imagination..

  28. jay4741

    Zeus

lets see how good david Villa is when he comes up against Lucio of Brazil! Villa wont get a kick.

  29. incesc

has anyone seen 110% bent on the lee nelson show.

He did a good take up of gerrard.

the show is shit but that take up is good.

  30. John A

I heard that Gerrard got his wife’s sister pregnant and not a 16yr old. Will hit the media in 14 days once the gagging order expires apparently.

  31. A

I heard that John A, doesn’t make much sense to me – gagging order was there for the duration of the world cup, but has now been extended until after England make the decision on Capello. Part of it is to do with a big split between Terry and Gerrard, because Terry was furious that Gerrard was allowed to keep the captaincy and had a bust up with Capello, then Gerrard was furious that Terry tried to get Capello to strip him of it.

  32. BillikenGooner

    Hmmm… interesting scandal fodder.

So what you guys are saying is that we won’t hear squat about Cesc going to Barca in the British Press after 14 days?

    heh

  33. Wenger the liar

“Leave that to me and come back in July and you will see. When you come back for the Emirates Cup you will see.”

    T minus 30 days.

  34. tonyadamsisgod

Probably utter bollocks but I did tell you about the John Terry saga before it broke to the public:

Courts held a further 2 week gagging order on steve gerrards private life, turns out he got his wifes sister pregnant (not a 16 year old )

Will hit the newspaper in 14 days, the judge held the gagging order to protect FA while they decide on capello, and the future of English footy..

John terry and the england boys all know about it and JT had a argument with capello because gerrard got to keep the captains armband. the tension in the camp was down to JT and half the team saying gerrard was a disgrace and the other half of the squad backing gerrard..The press conference was related to the
tension and JT wanted Gerrard exposed – they hate each other…..

  35. Robin's Choco Leg Special

TAIG – If that’s true all these pundits who’ve weighed in with their two pence will look like right muppets!

It sounds a bit newsoftheworld, jeremy kyle etc for me to see it as true.

If it does drop i’m sure i’m not the only one whom will have a giggle

But, then we’d have to endure a fortnight of british media led bullox about how english football is in the toilet etc..

Which, is not entirley true. Terry, Rooney, Gerrard & Cole are just cunts of the highest order.

  36. A

Ridiculous why Lurch? He’ll become a coach afterwards I’d imagine, just as Mart Poom did. Be good to help through Szczesny, and maybe even be a good influence on Fabianski

  37. Lurch LeRouge

Great. A proffessional plate carrier, a proffesional fly swatter and a pro bus driver. What ever next!!

  38. Lurch LeRouge

Erm because i think signing him as a coach undermines the competitive relationship between the players. If Buffon was signing as a player coach that’s one thing, schwarzer hmmm.

  39. Lurch LeRouge

I appreciate the likes of players like shearer being player coaches. Life long service to a club with pedigree and skill generates respect amongst the young players for a player coach.

A guy that swans in for a couple of years before retiring to be a coach just doesn’t do much for me in terms of generating the respect the young players need today.

  40. A

Yeah Lurch, experienced players behind the scenes with the intelligence and aspirations to go into coaching when they retire, what a terrible thing to have!

  41. Lurch LeRouge

    His level choy?

He’d need a doctorate in psyops to get those two in line. They look good in training, they can’t handle the pressure on field and I fail to see how a coach who hasn’t set the world alight can instil that level of belief.

  42. A

Shearer was just a “legend” who decided he should be a manager, he was never going to cut it.

I’m guessing you aren’t one of the young players Lurch, so whether or not he would generate your respect isn’t particularly relevant luckily!

  43. Lurch LeRouge

    Kick em both out.

I’d take schwarzer as player but not as a coach, identifying him as a player coach is premature and foolish. That’s the point.

  44. Robin's Choco Leg Special

Is anyone else a bit sentimental for eddie? Because i get the feeling that the room for sentiment has gone and it’s a case of “just get rid, bring in better”

I’d personally rather let vela or bendtner go.

  45. gambon

    Choco

Eduardo isnt good enough, probably never was.

Hes a good guy, but thats no reason to keep him around and pay him £2m pa.

  46. Rohan

I’d keep all of them and let that cunt Mark Randall go. I ask again, why the fuck is he still with us.

  47. Lurch LeRouge

Keep bendtner but Vela’s not offering enough for me, too much has to change in his competitive nature, he gives up the moment a cricket farts in his direction.

  48. gambon

Yeah – Vela & Eduardo out, bring 1 in to take Velas place, but more a winger than striker.

Elia or Hazard, preferably the latter.

  49. Robin's Choco Leg Special

Are we getting a work permit for bothelo?

If we are I can’t really see the point. We still hav clichy, gibbs & traore. Plus, he’s been sent home early for attitude problems by salamanca and celta vigo.. Doesn’t bode well…

  50. BillikenGooner

Sentiment is the prism that Wenger looks through to think Denilson is a future star and “just one more season” to be his motto about all his pet players.

I could do with less sentiment and more pragmatism in the running of the squad.

  51. Lurch LeRouge

Theres no comparison between denilson and Eduardo. Eduardo was verging on world class finishing before his GBH. denilson hasn’t even stepped foot on that field. So sentiment isn’t the right word then. But if eduardo comes out of this scoring 10-15 goals a season then he’s worth the pittance keeping him about is worth.

  52. gambon

    David

    49 games – 8 goals

Weve seen what he can do. I think he will be a good player, but he hasnt really settled.

We want to win the PL, not come 3rd or 4th again.

  53. choy

I hope and pray that we keep Eddie for another year..

2 mill a year isn’t going kill anyone at our club, he got injured playing for us.

    He should get another chance!

  54. A

He wouldn’t get in the side though choy. He’d be behind VP, Bendtner, Chamakh as a central player, and Arshavin, Vela, Nasri, Rosicky/Cole as a left sided forward.

He needs to play regularly too for his own career, it’s in both his and our interests to find him another club, though it will be sad to see him go

  55. A

Not really Lurch – not the same sort of thing at all….

Not a case of not using new technology, Wenger uses technology and stats galore in preparation….

It is retarded that we have exactly the same issues as 34 years ago with no change whatsoever

  56. RayGooner

If looking at our “Invincible Team” of 2003/2004 and taking that squad as a guiding line for what we need, to have it again…

    Beginning with the Goalkeepers:

In 03/04 we had Lehmann as our Nr.1, a goalkeeper with lots of experience and a German National Team player.
In 10/11 we probably will have Schwarzer, another goalkeeper with lots of experience and also a National Team player for his country of Australia.
2nd choice GK in 03/04 was Graham Stack, a young and un-experienced keeper (a bit of a risky thing to rely on).
In 10/11 we could have Szczesny as our Nr.2, also young, but in my mind a much more promising keeper than Stack was.

Looking at those Goalkeepers, overall it looks quite equal for both seasons.

    Over to the Defenders:

    Right-Backs:
In 03/04 it was Lauren and the back-up was Justin Hoyte.
In 10/11 it is Sagna and the back-up hopefully will be van der Wiel.
With buying van der Wiel our Right-backs looks very good, even a little better than 03/04…

    Left-Backs:
In 03/04 it was Ashley Cole and the back-up was Clichy.
In 10/11 it is Clichy and the back-up is Gibbs.
Maybe Cole was a better 1st choice than Clichy is now but i think Clichy will be better than he has been,
cause Gibbs will make him fight for his place…

    Center-Backs:
In 03/04 we had Campbell & Touré as our 1st choice and Cygan & Keown as our back-up.
In 10/11 it will be Vermaelen & probably Koscielny as our 1st choice and Djourou & (hopefully) Campbell
    as the back-up.
Vermaelen can take Campbell’s role (from 03/04) easily and remember that Touré was an unproved CB at that time and Koscielny is unproven in the PL, but a real CB none the less….
The back-up in 03/04 was a medioker Cygan and an ageing Keown, so having Djourou & Campbell there now
would be better in my opinion.

    The Midfielders:

In 03/04 we had Ljungberg, Vieira, Gilberto & Pirès as our most regular starting midfield.
To put it mildly it was WORLD CLASS!
But if we look at each player…
Ljungberg: could be compared to Joe Cole (if we get him).
Gilberto: well, our own SONG can do pretty much the same job as Gilberto did (Song will improve even more too)
Vieira: with Cesc he offers lots more in attacking than Vieira, but we lose a bit defending…
Pirès: we have Arshavin and we all know that he CAN be as good, hopefully he will deliver this season….

    The back-up in 03/04 was Parlour, Edu, & a very young Cesc…
Now we have Ramsey, Diaby, Nasri & a very young Wilshere…(i didn’t mention Denìlson cause i hope he will be sold)
    Player by player:
Parlour: similar to Ramsey when comes to hard work and the amount of running on the pitch,
skillwise though, Ramsey is miles ahead of Parlour…
Edu: he was a fairly good player but we have Diaby & Nasri to fill that space…
Cesc: Cesc of 03/04 and Wilshere of 10/11…well, i’d pick Wilshere…

    The Forwards:

In 03/04 we had Henry as our only 1st choice, the other forwards were fighting for the other spot,
and they were: Bergkamp, Reyes, Wiltord & Kanu.
In 10/11 we have van Persie as our only real 1st choice, the others are: Chamakh, Bendtner, Vela
and hopefully Özil…( i mention him as a forward, i’ll explain this further on)
    Player by player:
Henry: no one can replace the Henry of 03/04 but van Persie can at least score 20-30 goals if he’s fit a whole season…
Bergkamp: the only player that could fit that role would be Özil (i hope we can get him).
Reyes: we have Vela (at least he likes to play in England)
Wiltord: he was finished by that time (03/04) so Chamakh would be a much better player.
Kanu: Same as Wiltord, he was passed his prime, we got Bendtner whom we hasn’t seen the best of yet…

So, overall, if we can get Schwarzer, Koscielny, van der Wiel, Cole & Özil and keep hold of Campbell
    we’re not far of the 03/04 team….(on paper anyways….)

  57. zeus

Arsenal have submitted a work permit application for promising Brazilian youngster Pedro Botelho so he can bolster their first team squad next season, according to the Young Guns website.

The left back shone on loan at Spanish Segunda division side Celta Vigo last season, where he made 27 appearances. This form has alerted manager Arsene Wenger to his potential and he now wants to return the player to his ranks.

Botelho was originaly signed from Figueirense in 2007 but a lack of international appearances had scuppered any hope of a permit. Wenger now wants to take advantage of the “outstanding talent” clause in the regulations to finally allow Botelho to make his Arsenal debut.

  58. incesc

after rooney new the prostitute was coming out in the press he booked a holiday for a couple of days after the german game knowing they would go out, due to the huge divisions in the side.

the hole is getting deeper and deeper for these scumbags

  59. Pat

Skysports is linking us (along with others) with a move for Huntelaar and Flamini though they give no sources.

  60. Rohan

Flamini,eh..I’d just about take him back.
I’d welcome Huntelaar too…Dunno how happy he’d be about sitting on the bench though..can’t see that one happening..it would defo mean the end of Eduardo though.

  61. Rohan

Apparently David Villa watches Lost. Another reason for us to buy him…
much better than Cesc unashamedly saying that his favorite TV show is Desperate Housewives. Maybe he really is homo.

  62. Rohan

Then, Cesc is as metro as you can get without being homo..He’s treading it close, then what with the shaped eyebrows then. :D :D

  63. Lurch LeRouge

He’s got nothing on younes kanoul. I suspect Cesc regrets the eyebrows, it was a one off mistake and he’ll learn from it. Better it was a lesson learnt in a Spain shirt!!

  64. Robin's Choco Leg Special

that whole vid didn’t even have the “1″ against newcastle!

Brings back sweet, sweet memories though..

  65. Mayank

Adding to the earlier Culture v/s Nation debate what would you say to a Black Englishman who perhaps feels a connect to Africa? Does it mean he should represent an African nation?

On a lighter note I just heard from a good source that Koscielny is the best defender since Baresi.

  66. BillikenGooner

I believe that one of the first cloning patents bought needs to be Arsenal getting one so they can always have a Bergkamp clone available for the squad.

  67. izham

    rcls,

that goal has more than one touch, however that’s the best goal scored ever by any footballer..it won’t be repeated anywhere or by anyone

that’s a vid clip of God playing football..simply poetic and artistic..

shit i’m running out of adjectives to describe
    Dennis “GOD” Bergkamp..

  68. Mayank

Nah Incesc, just want to get some positive vibes going for him. Everyone has been so clueless and negative about him.

  69. incesc

i think people are just unsure and wanted a bit more of a sure bet than a guy who had one good season abroad.

no one is saying he is shit, they are just saying they dont know, and not even wenger can know if he will adapt…

  70. Mayank

I’m worried about him handling the criticism he’ll get and whether he’ll be able to handle it. Playing for Arsenal will put his name the the rags every week. Wonder if he can deal with the pressure. His technique and adaptability will have been duly gauged by the scouts and Wenger.

  71. Rohan

I heard Koscielny eats raw eels for breakfast…live ones too in fact..
He also orders and gets Big Macs at Burger King.

  72. choy

So can LK, Chamakh, Schwarzer, Joe Cole and another Defender be considered good business?

Sol, Gallas and Silvest to leave…

A marquee signing in case cesc goes of course.

    I think its pretty decent.

  73. incesc

schwarzer no for me but the rest, yes good business.

i dont understand how the age of keepers is getting so old, his reflexes cant be good enough to play at top champions league level surely?

also as long as the defender is experienced and up for a massive challenge the other defender is cool.

    8)

  74. Pedro

Mayank, worried about how a poor old professional footballer will handle the criticism?

Jeez… he’s paid enough cash not to worry about that!

It’s part of the job anyway… Ronaldo used to love it!
