Barca’s gone away, seems like the fans have too, or are Arsenal going to tell us more porkies?

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Peter Hill-Wood has said that Arsene didn’t mention Joe Cole in his conversation with him, so he guesses that he won’t be coming to the Arsenal, Barca have said they are looking elsewhere, so now they have unsettled Cesc they will turn their attention to David Silva, perhaps we should too.

It is funny though that Pep Guardiola has been quiet throughout all this, could it be that he fancies being the next Arsenal manager or could it be he didn’t want him in the first place?

What is strange though, is the man who just cleaned up in Spain, feels he needs to add to the squad, no team actually, perhaps we should take note, that no matter how good you think you are, you never stop improving, why? Because those around you will.

I just hope that if Cesc does stay he doesn’t stay because he’s been bribed with another bumper pay day that will stop us having the money to buy, and he’ll be unhappy and only hang around for another season. I only want players at Arsenal that want to stay and play, Cesc hanging around to see out Wenger’s contract out isn’t good enough for me, if of course that’s the deal. I could be wrong! I hope I am.

Maybe we have already agreed to buy Eden Hazard, is he good enough? I’ve only seen him on youtube, David Silva looks good, but Barca are after him and they are superior to us, so I doubt we will be sniffing around him.

I hope the Schwarzer rumours are untrue, but having said that, he is so much better than what we have I really don’t care who, as long as it’s someone.

I don’t know why we insist on leaving our new shirt debut so late, I’m sure we would do better business if everyone got in there before their holidays, it would also give us something to talk about before the transfer window deadline when we go shopping for whatever is left that’s cheap.

I know I said I wasn’t  interested in the world cup, but I am starting to have a peek, so maybe having something to watch at the weekend will stimulate something in me.

I do wonder what our staff do in these downtimes, they certainly don’t go out looking for players like old Mr Dein did, or at least they’ve done nothing over the years that leads me to believe they do.

A Grover told us yesterday that he went down from 46,000th on the waiting list to 16,000th, take note Ivan, the warning signs are there, Arsene may leave you with the legacy of no fans, add that to the thousands that are renting theirs out, you might start to see a pattern emerging. BEWARE!

I occasionally get people on that tell me that we don’t want to end up like Leeds, Portsmouth, Liverpool or ManU, well that got me thinking, in the world of football, and I mean the WHOLE WORLD OF FOOTBALL, who out there is actually solvent? Apart from US that is?

My request for a bit of tranquility on here yesterday certainly worked out, so a big thank you to all those that participated in the experiment, it did seem to go well. We also welcomed a lot of new grovers to our world, so it was a good day, lets extend it!

Have a great day Grovers because I’m sure tomorrow Pedro will be back, I’m taking a few days off.

Ah ok. But there is a difference between injury prone and crock, at least I think so.

Don’t believe RVP is injury prone, but he gets really unlucky with serious injuries while other players get little knocks.

  2. kev

someone earlier had stats from darren anderton and RVP. RVP is basically our darren anderton. i dont think hell ever go a full season without getting some type of injury. i dont know whether its bad luck or just him being fragile.

  3. choy

I think its the way he plays… too much of twisting and turning… he needs to join some ballet classes!

  4. Geezer

Me thinks the porkies are in your article good sir. By the way call RVP a crock if you like, I think he will be on fire this world cup, and in great stead for next season, have any of you seen the form he’s in lately? Even on his fist game back against the spuds, only about half fitness, he could have had a hat trick in 20 minutes had Gomes not been spiked with steroids the whole week leading up to the game!

  5. Pedro

Choy, I’m very close to buying one!

They look amazing, but tech people say it’s quite limited?!

    You buying one?

  6. Mayank

Geezer, I just think RvP’s unlucky. He hasn’t had a muscle injury in a while but the guy just can’t seem to be available.
If Wenger trusted RvP to be fit for the whole season he wouldn’t have bought another striker. And he wouldn’t be looking into Joe Cole.

That said I rate him just a little less than DB10 in terms of ability.

  7. choy

RVP is world class..I have no doubt, he is a fantastic player, scores goals, assists.. and doesn’t disappear in the big games.

If only he could stay fit!

  8. choy

    TIE.. very high.

In England the refs hardly punish him for his antics, with neutral refs, that could change!

  9. Doublegooner

    HORROR RUMOUR:

Been told today that ……The Club are considering keeping Fishhead over Sol as he will accept a 1 year contract & low wages. He would be numero 4..

Gather it’s not guaranteed but is being considered.

Thing is…would it suprise any of us ?? !!!

  10. Stu

I think if Silvestre signs an extention before the dealine for season ticket renewals then there will be a lot not being renewed. He is easily the worst player at the club in the last decade.

  11. SlickBangGoal

Arsenal are signing King Gyan Osei, he’ll be back-up player, he is also a free agent.

    Position = DM
    Ghana International
Was just released by Fulham because they could not get a visa for him.

    WELCOME TO ARSENAL.

  12. BillikenGooner

I think Gyan would have to play one more year on the continent before being able to join Arsenal.

  13. kev

yeah it said that on skysports website. he was on loan in belgium. we dont have him yet man shitty are after him too

  14. Marko

At least it’s good news that we’re looking for a goalkeeper. And defenders. Proper happy I am. Frey, Loscielny, maybe Kjaar or another defender and maybe another ball winning midfielder and we’re good to go.

  15. TinTin

more quotes from a Barca presdential canadite
While determined to seal Fabregas’ signature, Ingla has made it clear that Barca will not be held to ransom by Arsenal, with one offer having already been snubbed.

“Anything between 25 and 35 million euros would seem suitable,” he said.

seriously what of drugs are they on we’ve already turned down 27 million POUND bid!! surely they are the mostpetty and pathetic club in the world

  16. dennisdamenace

That possibility just sums up how shit our club has become whilst being run by these self serving parasitical cunts…..

They would rather keep that useless Manc cunt because he’s cheap than go the extra yard and pay Sol, someone who adds something to the team, what does that fucker give us, i’ll tell you what he gives us, he makes us hanker for Phil fucking Senderos, that’s how shite he is, and how fucking clueless this management is….

  17. SUGA3

    hi ddm ;)

I am still at the same position in the season ticket queue…

strange that – didn’t someone say on here that he shot up the list by nearly 30K?

  18. SUGA3

and yes, I concur, if we let Sol go and re-sign this twat, we should fucking riot!

Sol showed the bunch of bottlers what it means to wear the hallowed red & white shirt!

I admit, I had my reservations about re-signing him, but he proved me wrong and I am big enough to say this – I even wanted to have his name on the new replica kit, which I never do…

  19. dennisdamenace

That waiting list is a figment of the management’s imagination, makes them feel as though they’re doing no wrong…..twats!

  20. A

If sol goes it’s because he wants to end his career as the star man and a regular, not because anyone at the club doesn’t want him….

silvestre isn’t being offered a new contract, so that doesn’t particularly matter

  21. SUGA3

    A,

to be honest, I wouldn’t put it past AW to renew his contract – he signed him, even though everyone and his dog knew he was fucking shit, didn’t he?

let’s say, I don’t trust AW judgment anymore as he got some important things wrong more often than not recently…

  22. kev

yeah i was the same as you suga – was actually cursing wenger when he brought sol back. thought he wouldnt be able to hack it in the PL. he proved me wrong though and now i dont want him to leave. let him play out his career here i say

  23. dennisdamenace

BBK – He’s back, and has no updates, as yet, and his contact has now pissed off for a three and a half week holiday…..

  24. Dutchman

If we give silvestre a new contract then….!!!
How the fuck can you give the worst defneder in years for arsenal a new contract. How can you even consider it??? Then you must be crazy!! What a fault that would be!

  25. SUGA3

    Dutch,

how can you sign the cunt in the first place?

how can you rely on Gallas staying fit for the season and run him into the ground for two seasons in a row?

how can you do fuck all in the winter transfer window when you have one half fit striker?

can’t be arsed to give any more examples of ‘crazy’…

  26. zeus

    DG

Stop creating mischief. Are you trying to get gooners worldwide to slit their wrists?

Sylvestre? That would be the final nail in Wenger’s coffin.

  27. SUGA3

    gambon,

    O2 Academy, F.K.A. Brixton Academy ;)

    BBK,

sure I do – did you know his lyrics are studied at some uni in California as ‘modern American poetry’?

    brainy fucker he was…

    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvjkpPtK7NM&hl=en_GB&fs=1&]

  28. CedarBayDave

I wonder if any out of contract players will ruin their careers by not signing before the WC, and getting injured. I guess it is a gamble that they could win big with as well if they have an amazing run. (Joe Cole for example)

  29. goonerT1m

suga-i already made that point this morning- someone give him a gold star for spotting the obvious, we have been saying that for at least the last 4 summer windows, there he is spouting his wisdom about how well he feels certain teams will do in the world cup- do we care ?..no we don’t- go back to your office and sort your defence out and stop trying to be the “voice of football” no one is listening, its time for you to act and live up to your reputation Mr Wenger.

  30. reggie 57

Its either teen prodigys or geriatrics take your pick? as long as they are free becos we are soo skint…yeah right!!

  31. TinTin

Stu, think we’d all like that but seems our major signing this summer is gona be a 37yr old keeper and a 18yr old coming in Jan now thats ambition!!

  32. Big Dave

Barca get on my fucking tits, the one who has not said a word yet about signing cesc is the bloody tea lady.

    Fuck off Barca

  33. reggie 57

    Big Dave

The only one from that mob who has kept a dignified silence is Guardiola! makes him a top bloke in my book….

  34. David

    Suga

I fucking love your taste in music man!

I was watching the World Cup Concert…damn…what a bore.

  35. Marko

Yep like Guardiola me but I’m sick of Xavi right now, you’d think he’d show a little more respect. And it does my head right in when these pricks come out and say Cesc is worth 25-35 million euros. I mean for fucks sake this is the same crowd who last summer were part of the worst transfer in the history of transfers, 60 million + Eto’o for Ibrahimovic!?! 60 million + a great striker for an overrated prick who’s been having his arse wiped for years in Italy and they have the nerve to say “market value” and “over the odds” when speaking of Cesc. And I’m sick of this shite about his education was at Barca, balls he was there since what 9-16 years so 7 years and he’s what been here for 6 years? He’s got as much Arsenal blood as Barcelona and a player education is between late teens early 20′s so he’s the player he is because of our club not them. In saying all that I believe we’ll keep him for another couple of seasons.

  36. SUGA3

    good man, David ;)

I used to DJ quite a lot back in PL, I have a thing for the proper rap & hip hop from the days when it was done properly…

still have a pair of decks at home sometimes I get invited whenever some Polish hip hop artist mate comes to do a gig in LDN…

    any concrete signings lads?
    ——————————
yes i here hill-wood is looking at a property
just around the corner from the stadium :)

  39. ethangunner

if you ask me BBK , there has been way too much emphasis on CONCRETE @ this club the past 5 seasons :)

    and not enough signings :)

  40. CedarBayDave

Why do you expect Barca to show arsenal respect? they look at us like we look at Fulham.

You don’t see us not talking about Hangeland, because it might bother them. (or any other player on a team we consider inferior)

The only way you stop them is to make it know to players that we are the more dominate club in Europe, and there is no where to move that would be a step up. The only way you do this is buy winning everything you enter, and do it on a regular basis.

Almost always this is the clubs that buy great players and only sell players that can not make it onto the starting 11.

  42. SUGA3

    BBK,

    good times, seriously ;)

we even used to run an illegal club in our city at the half abandoned railway station the size of Brixton Rail – now that was awesome…

  43. Arsene Nose Best

    you s.a.you s.a.you s.a.you s.a.you s.a.you s.a.you s.a.you s.a.you s.a.you s.a.you s.a.you s.a.you s.a.you s.a.you s.a.you s.a.you s.a.you s.a.you s.a.you s.a.you s.a.
    UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSAAAAAAAAAAA

  44. ethangunner

i don’t know how after a few free transfers , losing cesc and promoting someone like nasri to the midfield , picking up a goal keeper who is almost 38 will turn this club into material capable enough to beat the chev’s ?

if wenger really had access to money im sure he would have used it by now ..

not get 2 free transfers maybe 3 , and then pay a huge sum of 3 mil to secure the clubs long term goal keeping problems ..

is it just me or is it looking WAY TOO FUCKING STINGY for a man with a supposed war chest of 70 + MIL !?

  45. SUGA3

back in PL a few times on the equivalent of local BBC ;)

don’t have much time to do it these days…

I also like quality DnB and house, but will not sniff at good ol’ AC/DC either ;)

I once met a sales rep who said there were only two kinds of music: good and bad…

slick and neutral as fuck, but true nevertheless, no?

  46. ethangunner

    Marko ,
wenger will let him go .. he does every time ..
he will also realize that he needs a player or to after he stops thinking about the world cup for 5 seconds ..

wenger is useless around this time ..

but rest assured cesc is gone ..
the money factor shouldn’t concern us ..
its not like we benefit .

i would be more concerned why we ar holding out for money ?!

if barca havent got ENOUGH players to pick from , then all i can say is i doubt the money will be used for players then !

  47. Stu

Thats not true CedarDave. When have any arsenal players publically express their desire for Hangeland to join us, or anyone in fact? ANytime we have been linked Wenger has said its not gonna happen (i think).

Arsenal are rarely anything but totally respectful to whichever club we are trying to buy from.

Barca are just a bunch of cunts.

  48. SUGA3

quite frankly, I cannot see us NOT strengthening, really – gambling is one thing, being ‘suicidal’ is another…

whether Cesc stays or goes, signings must be made to keep the spirits high, otherwise it will not look good next season mentality wise IMO…

gotta feel for Chamakh though – fella got his dream move at the wrong moment, his signing somehow slipped under the radar…

  49. SUGA3

I am peeved as well, gambon, it’s like 14K per week for someone – fuck me, we are a football club not an academy…

    or are we?

  50. leon

it does look as if wenger is on the lookout for an experienced keeper and will keep faith with fabianki he bought 2 new keepers at 17 he manone and another very good keeper comming through, well wenger did say he looking experienced players

  51. SUGA3

    academy and a charity, now that’s noble…

    leon,

I would dump Fabianski as he is just a waste of time and space and always was and keep Al as no.2…

Mannone is fucking shit, the worst of them lot IMO – never anything but a no.3, Szczesny pisses all over him already…

  52. gnarleygeorge9

    Geoff

IMO the reason the new strip hasn’t been unvielled yet is because The Club wants to give the fans the opportunity to put some of the proposed new big signings’ names/numbers on the back.

  53. gambon

    Its fucking embarassing.

We are the Chelsea of U18 football, paying out huge sums to win the Youth trophoes, while our first team isnt good enough.

Do we really need another central MF at youth level when we have 125 already.

  54. A

lol, Mannone. He’s the worst out of the lot, and will do well to ever make it at prem level. Even though Almunia and Fabianski are not good enough for us, lets not get silly now, Mannone will struggle to ever become as good as even they are now

  55. Honest Bill

Mannone is only young isn’t he? I thought he had something about him from the games i saw… Teflon gloves admittedly but he had a good goalkeeping presence and made some pretty decent reactionary saves. I think he has potential

  56. SUGA3

    David,

Szczesny is miles ahead of him, really – Mannone had ONE good game and that was Fulham, and I have watched him a good few times…

probably most of you saw this one already ;)

    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brPWeQIc4Eo&hl=en_GB&fs=1&]

  57. gambon

    David

    This kid from Feyenoord.

You think how much we spend on the likes of Wellington, Embecilio, Galindo, Ozyakup, Coquelin etc

Its ridiculous. We are doing exactly what Chelsea/City have done, just at youth level.

The only trophies the board care about are U18.

  58. David

Mannone is the best of the lot.

And has certainly proved it time and time again for us.

    Fabianski has always been shyte.

Absolutely laughable you can rave about that idiots “potiential” and actually slate the one that performed admirably for us.

Its a joke. Its just like the JD situation.

  59. SUGA3

    David,

please mate, ‘time and time again’? game of his life against Fulham and that’s about it…

never set the world alight in reserves, did he?

I agree Fabianski is pants, but Szczesny is the next VdS in the making and will be Arsenal’s no.1 for ages to come in 2 years time…

  60. SUGA3

and what about JD? he is absolutely shit and he should be only considered a backup and paired with Koscielny (if he comes) as a backup to play in the cups and against Blackburns of this world for being physical…

  61. David

I thought Mannone’s debut was pretty good Suga…he made some very fine saves that kept us in it…despite conceding 2 early on.

That shows bottle. We couldve easily gone down by 5

  62. Stu

JD IS shit. He, like DIaby, has the physical attributes but not much else imo. He is extremely panicky and very dodgey imo.

  63. Stu

I dont think Mannone was actually at fault for either of the goals we conceded against Liege. I mean, he should have saved the first imo but it wasnt his fault. Eduardo fucked up and Mannone was on his debut. Still dont think he is good enough though.

  64. David

We have never lost a game that Mannone played in.

    He cant be shite.

For all the talk about his gaff at West Ham its nowhere even close to the Flapianski or Almunia gems this season.

I mean short of putting the ball in your own net time and time again…where’s the comparison?

  65. SUGA3

Come on, this is Standard Liege we’re talking about, ffs…

I watched him regularly playing for ressies and he is not good enough, period…

  66. Stu

Mannone didnt keep his place for a number of reasons, most of which i dont know ;) but mainly imo because experienced shit is prefered over inexperienced shit…hence Almunia is first choice.

  67. David

    How is JD shite?

Should we call Song shite too?

FFS…the boy has played fantastic for us…and is a great defender especially going forward.

    Why exactly is he shite?

Is it because he fouls people in dangerous areas?

    No thats Songs job.

Is his positioning a lil questionable?

Ofcoarse it is…thats why he’s a young CB…ask Vermaelen how his positioning was against Barca.

  68. Stu

Yeah that’s exactly what we need, a defender who is great going forward

Its not only his positioning, he is suspect against any kind of pace. Senderos was/is better than him. All JD has is his athleticism imo…at least until his demeanor changes.

  69. David

    Suga

Say what you want about Standard but they almost spanked us that night!

And Although I am not saying he should make it at Arsenal…im juss saying he’s the lesser of 3 evils.

The fact that he signed a new contract should say it all about Wenger.
